Hi, ladies. I'm just here quick to catch up on my reading. I'm relaxing tonight and (a big) maybe getting some organizing done in my room. We got some news that we may have to postpone building our new house for a few months, so I'm a little down about that. Otherwise things are excellent and I'm looking forward to my race tomorrow! G'night girls!

Yeah, I'm posting again even though my last post isn't more than like, 6 inches up the page. Sue me... I DARE ya!

Shasha - Oh my, you sound awfully sore. Be sure to tell your trainer when you see them so they can give you advice on what to do, if you should take a couple days off, etc. I remember last year completing a fitness routine on my own and not being able to sit down without my legs collapsing halfway down for about a week! Not a fun time.

Delphi - You poor thing, those cramps sound absolutely dreadful but OMG normal BMI!!! Holy cow! You go girl!

ruth - Yay on being down even WITH the carbs! Woo hoo!

jessicado - good for you on holding your own financially, that had to be pretty scary not knowing if you could do it or not... but you totally did! You should definitely be proud of yourself the way you're holding up under so much stress... talk about a pillar of strength! As far as the c25k, I can tell you I've gone into each new week scared to death and not thinking I could do it. Even after managing to do this week's 5 minute runs, I'm petrified about next week's 8 minutes... I've never KNOWN I was ready, but I have pushed forward and like I said... I've done it slow when I wasn't sure I could do it and it's worked every time. You can totally do it!

Me, I'm having a quiet night at home... about ready to break out some tests and grade them as I watch tv. I tried talking DH into starting the closet when he got home but got a big NO on that one! Can't say I blame him but I had to try!
Oh! I was thinking about clothes shopping because my jeans are fitting pretty loose these days and I was wondering what the bare minimum I need would be because I certainly don't want to be purchasing too many clothes if I'm going to be losing more weight (which I totally am) and then I had the exciting thought: I'm likely about 20 lbs away from shopping in "regular size stores" It's such an exciting thought.... I could squeal! I'm not even there yet and I'm delighted! How's that for positivity?

Yeah, I'm with ya Shrinking on the multiple posting. I do it all the time. ;) Sandye, the cramps are no better. :( Just trying to endure I suppose...I'm gonna try to stay on my feet though..as they are just really bad if I sit. So at least I'll be burning some more calories.

I'll try to catch up in the morning. Good luck MsP on the race tomorrow. Oh and weighed in at exactly 181...so that put me at goal. Hopeful of a little drop as soon as the bloating goes away ...oh my gosh, it looks so bad. It's amazing how I NEVER noticed being bloated before I lost the weight. I don't wear rings or anything so, I just simply never knew...and now if you even retain the smallest amount of water, you sure can tell it. Well here's to losing seven more pounds and getting to a normal BMI...oh man, I'm stoked. It will definitely be one of my goals next month. Just want to see that Normal BMI, highlighted in red. Well you ladies have a great evening. Oh and jessica..big hugs girly, I definitely understand the situation..too well. If ya ever need to talk, I'm here girly.

MsP~ good luck on your race tomorrow! :) Sorry you have to postpone building your house, that's a bummer!

SG~ So, you couldn't talk hubby into starting the closet huh? Ah well, at least you tried! ;) There you go scaring me about next week! I told you I never look ahead--well, I didn't--after reading your post I went and looked it up...by the end of next week did you see that we're supposed to be running for 20 mins straight? With NO walking?!?!? HUH? Man, I knew I shouldn't have looked ahead! Okay, we can do this--right? I mean--YEAH! We can DO this!!! :D

Delphi~ :celebrate: Congrats for making goal! And during TOM no less! Woo hoo!!! That's awesome! I sure hope that TOM lays off ya with the cramps hun, that's just rotten! As for the Normal BMI, girls you'll be there before ya know it! Only 7 pounds, that's nothin' chickie!!! Easy peasy lemon squeezy!!! :) Hope you get rid of those cramps magically overnight and that you have yourself a wonderful day off tomorrow!!

Well girls, I finally got my HIIT in after hubby came home. Never before have I looked forward to a workout so much! I was thinking about it all day long! I simply could not wait to get on the treadmill, crank up Dave and run! I even had a moment today where I thought about just taking off outside and seeing how far/long I could run without stopping!! But then I remembered that I'm doing the C25K for a reason...and that reason would be lack of endurance! Plus, it would be my luck that I pull something or strain myself running outside and then I'd be unable to do my C25K run tomorrow! ;)

Speaking of which, I think I might just hit the pavement for tomorrow's run. There's a 5K here on Oct. 3rd and I've been toying with the idea of entering it...but I would need to be used to running outside first and if I keep doing my workouts on the treadmill, I won't be ready for a 5K by Oct. 3rd. So...depending on how crazy the weather is, I might just do it--I might run outside!!! :carrot:

Well girls, even though I'm not all that tired, I better head to bed. I want to get up early tomorrow and get my workout in before I tackle my to do list. Hope everyone has a great night and a wonderful weekend!

Evening all,

CMo4 - And thanks for that welcome, lol, you know I had crazy cramps too until after the baby and now I don't think I've had them in three years, small mercies I guess. In the mouth and out the nose seems to work, and nothing like crazy intervals to exorcise the child demons. It's great to be back I was feeling all unhindged at the end of it without my routine, it's a minor OCD :) Do it, go outside, run in the rain, who cares, and there's much better scenery too.

SG - WTG on going in the rain, it's so nice when we get to a place that the only excuse is actually that our legs fall off or we've broken a body part and not those silly ones we used to use before. I'm all over that closet stuff too, just think how fab your new clothes are gonna look, ok now I'm excited too!

Shasha - that sounds rather painful indeed, I would definitely take it easy and let that heal up a bit for sure. Too bad about the trainer but I'm a cheapy and soemthing for free would sell me on it too.

Delphi - darling you ain't ever gonna be normal love ;) maybe a super hot sex goddess but normal, heavens no! But aside from that that's only 7lbs! Can't wait to celebrate that one with ya, next month! And well, virgin fat happens to be that fat that's never been touched by a man because it's never been on the surface before, lol, we Canadians have lots of tricks to get through cold winters. :woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay: for GOAL!!!!

Ruth - Congrats on the weight loss and those home renos I do so enjoy them, nothing brightens up a day like a fresh newly painted room. And honestly it perplexs me a bit that I managed to goal this month but I ordered very wisely it seems and sometimes I even ordered helathy things that I didn't really like that much so I won't eat a lot. That was for the days that my willpower was tanking, you don't need willpower if you dont' really like it, lol.

Jessicado - Bravo to you my dear, that is one heap of stress and hard choices and a lot of things outside of your control and you are doing great with everything. What a wonderful example for your daughter!

FSA - why thank so much and thank for the red, it is my very favorite color.

MsP - Good luck and knock 'em dead, I bet you beat that 30 minutes too!

Had a wonderful night at home with dd cuddling on the couch doing her nails and my nails and reading stories, it was so nice given that I've been dealing with a grandparent behaviour hangover the likes of which I've never seen. I had breakfast hit the floor this morning b/c it wasn't made of chocolate. The entire day seemed like one long time out intermingled with eating, working out and a nap she only had b/c she was too tired from screaming and throwing herself on the floor all day. And then appeared my angel with all her lovely manners and cute little phrases right before bed, just in time so I won't curl up in the fetal position and rock myself to sleep while tieing my tubes in my mind. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, she even assured me that she will try again to listen better tomorrow but now I'm going to crawl into my very quiet bed and do some reading and I will catch up with all you lovely ladies tomorrow.

Hey chicks,
Checking in before I go to bed, yes I am going to bed at a much more decent hour.
My sister got here this afternoon and she brought with her food that she had already cooked at home so I didn't have to make lunch or dinner and it was healthy. She did bring a peach pie that she had made this morning but we all only got small pieces because there are 11 of us between her family and mine. I measured out only 1/4cup of ice cream to go with it. Then after supper my sister and I went for a 50 minute walk, it didn't seem like that long I guess because of all the yacking we were doing. We walked at a pretty good pace until well after dark. We would have done some jogging but she said she doesn't like to jog if she can't see well enough (because of it being dark) to make sure she don't step in a hole or something.
So we have planned out tomorrow's eating to make sure we don't overeat. Overall today my calories are very good so I'm glad about that. Now if I can just make sure tomorrow goes just as good. I will be making a pan of brownies but with 8 kids eating them that doesn't leave very much for me LOL.

I wonder what exercise I will do tomorrow... maybe some weights, I have GOT to start strength training again.

Congratulations Delphi on meeting your goal!!

Good morning and happy Saturday to you all! :D

I should be out running, but the iPod needs at least a 30 min charge on it so I'm waiting on that...

Tummy~ aha! You are a smart one! I honestly wouldn't have thought to order a healthy dish that I wasn't terribly fond of to control how much I ate! ;) Miss Smarty Pants! "grandparent behavior hangover" oh what a perfect way to describe it! Sorry you're going through that, what a dolly to show her sweet side at the end though. :) Ya know, my girls pull the same thing--act like little heathens all day and then when it's bedtime they are the sweetest things ever! I swear, I think it's a survival mechanism--they bust out the cuteness when they know we're close to the end of our ropes. My girls have been in rare form this week too, so let's hope the weekend holds smiles and giggles from our girls, not tantrums and screaming. ;)

Ruth~ oh what fun! You have a diet/workout buddy! I loved it when my mom was here and we ate well and worked out together! Sounds like you'll do just fine while she's there (and after that too of course :))! Have a wonderful time visiting with her and her family!!!

Well girls, I guess drinking all my water did the trick! The scale was kind today with a 143.8!!! I hope it sticks! I just need to remember to get ALL of my water in not just the bare minimum.

Okay, well I think my iPod is charged enough for my run--I'm outta here! I'll be back later to check on everyone so be sure you're on your bestest healthiest behavior ladies!!! And of course, be sure to...

Drink Your Water!!!

Mornin' girls.

Notice I didn't say 'Good'? Ugh...stupid TOM...anyway, I'm way too far behind for my liking, let me get right to it!

[B]Jacque~ Oooh, isn't spinning hard?!? I tried it back in May and I thought I was gunna die! Of course, I had no business trying a spin class back then, I was totally not prepared for it! If you're going to make it a regular workout--I have some advice for you: Make sure your bike is adjusted for YOU! Mine wasn't and I had trouble walking without pain for a few days--yeeouch!!!
I have a To Do List a mile and half long and it's overwhelming.

Can you tell TOM is messing with me? Grrr!

Thanks for the advice. Since it was our first time the instructor set our bikes for us, but unfortunately, I didn't take notice to the settings, so someone will have to show me again when I go back. I was in pain for days...each day got better, but my quads were the worst. I'm assuming it was from the workout and not the settings on the bike.

That TOM is such a jerk!!! I hate him...fortunately I won't have him this week when I am in FL with mom. It will be the first time in MONTHS that he isn't visiting while I'm on vacay or doing something special.

Oh and weighed in at exactly 181..[B].so that put me at goal
:carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:Yo u are AWESOME!!! Keep going!!!:carrot::carrot::carrot:

Helloooo Chickies!

Wow, I stepped on the scale this morning hoping to see the 216.4 that I saw yesterday morning and I saw 215.0!!! What is up with that? I have absolutely no confidence it will stick but I suppose it could be due to TOM having left though I have absolutely no expertise there. Perhaps the earth's gravitational pull is on a slight break under my house right now.... that seems far more likely than the 215.0... let me tell ya.
It does kind of remind me that I should take a high calorie day though. With work and everything I haven't been keeping track of my calories as well and I don't think I'm getting them all in every day. It's time consuming to plan all that food and then time consuming to eat it all at work (trust me I've been shoving my face full at night) and sometimes I come home with some uneaten because I just didn't get it in...and it doesn't get eaten. I think I've been carting around the same bowl of cereal for half the week... gah, maybe I should check that they're still flakes and not a fine powder by now!

Ms P - Sorry! I didn't see your post yesterday. Good luck in your race!

Delphi - Wow, close to a normal BMI... you're amazing! Congrats on meeting goal!

cmo4 - Oops! Sorry! Didn't mean to make you look! Next week has been scaring the pants off me for a while now. 20 minutes? Impossible... right? Of course, that's how I felt about 3 minutes and now 5 minutes and the beginning of next week's 8 minutes. I can tell you I'm going to be taking that 20 minute run sloooooooooooooooooooooooooow..... like, so slow I'd pass myself walking! We can totally do it. I mean, I haven't thought I could do any of this so... if I go by that... we can totally do it! And yay for running outside! There is a 5k in late October I found that's nearby and I've been thinking about signing up... my whole social exercise anxiety thing has kicked up and started naysaying me... I won't know what to expect, I won't know how to do anything, I don't really have good enough shoes and of course that oh so fabulous inner voice (They're all gonna laugh at you!!!). Yeah, fantastic, I know. Maybe you'll inspire me to do it anyway!

Tummy - You know, my DH looked at me like I was nuts when I said I was still going and all I said was "well if you hear thunder or see lightning... come get me!" and then headed out the door giggling. Oh he's prolly thinking I've gone off the deep end between that moment and how stupidly excited I am about this closet. I think I'm going to post before and after pictures on my blog because our closet right now is absolutely ridiculous.

ruth - mmmm brownies, I haven't had chocolate since June when I started. Ice cream yes.... chocolate no. I'd make a pan myself but I don't have 8 kids around to eat most of it!! Oh man, I can almost smell them!

I hope no one posted while I was rambling. Man, you girls really are the best, I'm so glad I found this group... you guys make everything so much easier and much more fun!!!
Have a great day!

Hi all! Just me again! :D

Jacque~ I'm glad that your quads and muscles were the only things hurting--I had various other parts (ahem, girly parts ) that were in agony for 3 days afterwards! That's what I get for jumping in with both feet before dipping a toe in to test the water! ;) Ah well, at least I can say I did a spin class right? TOM is a jerk! He decided to crash my honeymoon of all things that SOB! So yeah, he's high on my list of things to detest. Glad to hear he's not going to crash your FL trip! :carrot:

SG~ Now you listen to me girlie! You are doing a totally fantastic job and THAT'S why your scale says 215!!! It's not a fluke. You've earned it! Don't question it, just roll with it! :broc: And heck ya, post TOM weights have been known to take a 2-3 lb dive, so WOO HOO!!! You're 215!!!! :) Now, as for the exercising in public thing...honey, I want you to do something for me k? The next time you're out running and you see someone, I want you to say to yourself, "I bet they're thinking 'that's so cool that that chick is running! She's doing something fantastic for herself!', who cares if they're actually thinking that--chances are they're thinking about work or what they'll be making for dinner--the point is I want you to say it to yourself because it is cool that you're running and you ARE doing something fantastic for yourself!! (wow, sorry for the insane run-on sentence! Jeepers!) Whenever I see someone exercising who isn't svelte and totally toned, the first thing I think to myself is, "Good for them!!!" and before I started working out, I would think, "Man...she's working out...I really need to start working out...sigh..." so you never know, you just might inspire someone to start exercising and taking better care of themselves! :) Lastly, the 5K...I'll do it if you do!! Really! I've been toying with the idea and even if I end up walking half of it, it would still be fun to at least do it right? I mean, I could add it to the list of things I've done in my life if nothing else. Who knows, it could be the first of many! :) So, you up for it? Hmm? And heck ya we can do 20 mins! I have no doubt!!!!! We are going to take that 20 mins and OWN them!!! Yeah baby!!!

Okay, wow, sorry for the novel SG!!

Running--Outside--ROCKS!!! Okay, I've admitted before that I'm a total wimp when it comes to running when it's hot, but when it's in the upper 50's--I'm golden!! It was heavenly!!! Ahh, the fresh air, the scenery--even if it was just my subdivision --it was so much better than staring at my messy basement! And my muscles felt different afterwards too, more worked--especially the ol' hiney! ;) Woo hoo!

So, now I'm all fed, caffeinated and ready for the day. Just need to try to sneak in a shower while the kids are playing and I'll be good to go! Hubby took Ry fishing and Dev decided to stay home, so we'll be trying to organize the playroom today I think--wish me luck!

Have a great day ladies and be sure to smile and start working on those September Goals! It's almost time to post them!!!!!

Morning ladies,

Ruth - yup I'd say eight kids is a sure fire way to not ahve any brownies left over and how awesome to have a sister in on the healthy lifestyle, just makes it so much easier to have an ally.

CMo4 - LOL, I'm only accidentally smart, I wanted to try and expand my eating horizons a bit and thought that since my taste buds have changed a lot maybe I would like some different things so I ordered a previously unliked food and it turns out it's not as bad but still not something I would eat tons of and the idea was born! It annoyed dh endlessly though, why would you order something you really don't know if you'll like?!! I don't know how often I heard that in two weeks but boo on him, it did the trick.
:balloons: :celebrate: :balloons: on 143s, holy wow, wasn't it yesterday that you couldn't get under 150? You're amazing! Glad you got that run in, it is great isn't it? I love the morning air and the quiet and just moving forward is pretty great.

Delphi - I bet you were up watching some horrible movie, like Showgirls or something, lol. Enjoy your weekend chickie, TTL.

Jacque - Hope you're mom's doing better, will you be gone all week?

SG - Or maybe a lot of hard work? You're getting up pre-5am to run your little butt off, I betca that's helping! And totally sign up for the race, anxiety or not just imagine how proud of yourself you'll be when you cross the finish line of a race. And I totally second what Sandye said, you know that when you see someone who isn't all super fit running you're amazed and awed and wish it was you, you can be that for someone else too. My dh thought running in the rain was crazy too, the first morning it rained I got up like usual and commented on it and his first words were, well I guess there's always tomorrow. Honestly, where's the encouragement? LOL he just didn't think I had it in me but almost 3 months later, haha, rain or shine still going(minus the lightening of course :)) Totally post the pics I love me some organization, and I'm a horrible peeping tom too.

The devil in the child is quiet for now, I appeased it with pancakes this morning. And about those pancakes, I have searched long and hard for a healthy recipe that fit my eating preferences, higher protien, no flour, natural of the earth kinda stuff, oh ya and for it to taste good too. I finally found it and my dd ate them too which is part of why tasting good is so important round here. While I was cooking them I thought this might not be a good idea, two is a serving size and they're 1/4cup of batter each, not much food so I started to think I was going to eat too much but sure enough one and a half pancakes in and that was all that fit, nutritionally dense holy cow. Pretty happy about that it was a family favorite that we have not had in over 3 months and it was nice to find a way to put it back without compromising, except of course dd had maple syrup and I opted for pureed fruit. Wow who thought I'd get that excited about a pancake, lol.

Speaking of excited, down 1lb again today to hit 176. I thought I had a few in me after that first vacation weigh in, my waist went down 1.5inches while I was away for two weeks with only a 3lb loss, something seemed fishy so it seems I'm catching up. Not to mention I was bloated out on white flour and not drinking my 80oz+ a day of water like I do when I'm home.

It's gonna be a hot one today so I'm going to get my HIIT over with right away, it makes me sweat enough already. Oh and Sandye you're right week 7 is by far the hardest but i'm almost done!

Sorry ladies, this is gonna have to be fast as I am running out the door to get to the new house and meet the cable guy. Set up the appointment before I found out I don't have to be to work until next Friday instead of Monday, lol. Oh well, will give me time to get kinda situated in the new place a little. Well not really, because hardly any of my stuff is going to be moved down.

Anyways, just wanted to check in for the last of the month since I probably won't be back till the Sept thread, and say that I made my goal! It's TOM and all and the scale still said 269.5 today! Normally I don't take a pound lower until I have surpassed it completely, but since I'm going to be gone for a few days, and it is TOM, I'm taking that 269 d***it!

Hope everyone is doing awesome and see you on the next thread!

:carrot:

Oh yeah...spinning hurt those parts too!!! Plus what I was doing the night before contributed :). Yes I am glad TOM will not be with me next week.

Jacque - Hope you're mom's doing better, will you be gone all week?

Mom is doing really well, although yesterday she was sad because a good friend died and she received a card from me that that made her cry more. Thanks for asking. Yes I will be gone till next Saturday...but will check in when I can

Omigosh, its so hot outside! We have been running around today running errands and buying things for the house. I think we are going to go back out and bear the heat because we need to get food for the week. I think I'm going to take the day off from working out to give my body a little more recovery. I'm not sore anymore, but just to be safe, will get back in the gym tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far and surviving the heat.

Jessicdo - you take that pound and run with hun, absolutely amazing job!

Aclai - 3 out of 4 ain't bad and you never know we still got some time.

Ruth - Awesome, I think we all save our nice losses until the end.

Jacque - and here you were being a thoughtful daughter and making her cry, lol, glad to hear she's doing better and have fun down there.

Shasha - Hope you had an awesome time shopping, I love buying the home stuff. It must be hot everywhere, we're way the heck up north and it's been 30degrees plus everyday here too, stay cool.

Hope everyone had a great Saturday, we got tons of cleaning done around here and we seem to have a minor fly infestation, they must be getting in from outside but it's freaking me out, like some kind of alfred hitchock film. I'm killing about 5 per hour right now and my poor windows are all bug guts right now. Oh I hear some more better get the swatter...

Just popping in quick before I go for my run... I've finally put the closet photos up on my blog if anyone is interested in looking! DH and I got that project done, harvested a huge amount of tomatoes from the garden, took them to his mother's where I tried out running on a treadmill for the first time (cmo4, how fast do you normally run?) which scared the living crap out of me, I felt so unsteady! Then, we went to a 4:30 pm showing of Harry Potter, out to dinner and then home at 9pm. It was a busy day for us! Very fun!

A quick check in after my weigh in :)
I've stay the same - which is actually good news considering how OP I've been in the last month or so.

Thank goodness September is just around the bend. I'm going to pop over to the September thread, post my goal and
then I'm out the door for a walk :carrot:

Happy Sunday Peeps!

Yeah, wasn't around too much yesterday. I had a few obligations to a few friends of mine, so I had to take the day off yesterday, so I could plant my butt in a chair and do some competitive gaming. It was fun and relaxing and TOM didn't mess with me too bad. He is still around and heavy as ever this month. I don't know what I did to piss him off..but sheesh already! I was hopeful of being down to 180 before the September challenge starts, but TOM is doing some weird stuff to me this month. Then again, I could really care less. Progress is steady and slowing and I'm cool with that. I look great, feel great and I'm enjoying life. You can't really knock that..eh?

Probably wont be around too much today either. So I'll catch up with personals and such Monday, when I get back on track.

Good Morning Girlies!!!

Tummy~ yeah, I'm kind of stunned that I'm sitting at the weight I am considering at one point this month I just knew I wasn't going to make my August goal--shows what I know huh? Okay, now you can't just talk about filling, yummy pancakes and not share the recipe!! Come on girl--cough it up! 176?!?! Holy schemoly chickie--you're doing fantastic! Wasn't it just yesterday we were cheering you on when you got out of the 190's? Talk about a productive vacation! I'm so happy for you!!!! :) Eww! Flies! I think it must be the cooler weather or something here because we're having the same problem--they seem to be hanging out in the garage and coming in every time someone opens the door. Grrr! I find using a vacuum to suck them up works wonders! ;)

Jessica~ You take it d***it!!! :D Congrats on making your August Goal!!! Hope all went smooth and easy with the cable install and we'll catch you on the September thread if not before! :)

Aclai~ Congratulations on making so many of your goals this month!!! You never know, you could be graced with a swoosh tomorrow morning and find yourself sitting at 275. Either way though, you had an awesome month!! :carrot:

Ruth~ Woo hoo! Look at you go! Congrats on the continued loss! Hope you're having a great time with your sister & fam! :)

FSA~ yes, I loved running outside! I'm still going to do my HIIT inside though--it's easier to keep track of my time on that thing and I'd rather save my outside running for when I'm going for distance. :) Hope you're having a great weekend! Thanks for starting up the new threads hun!

Jacque~ Ooh la la, look at your new avatar! You look smokin' hot! Glad to hear your mom is doing well, big  to her--it's so sad when you lose a friend. :( Take care and we'll see you next week!

Shasha~ another CA heat wave huh? I don't miss those! Enjoy your day off--glad to hear you're not in so much pain anymore! If you need a break from the heat--come on out my way, it's only supposed to be in the 70's all week! :) Take care and stay cool!!!

SG~ Sounds like you had a great day yesterday! I'll have to check your blog to see the pics! Yeah, the treadmill is tricky at first, I'm glad I started out walking on it, I don't know if I would have be able to stay on the darn thing if I had started off running! When I do the C25K I usually do my brisk walk at 3.5-3.7 and my running at around 5.0-5.2. When I do my HIIT it's a bit faster though, but like I said, when is started out, I was walking and clinging to the hand grips for dear life the whole workout! When I did brave running, I was all over the place! I'm sure I looked ridiculous! :lol3:

Susie~ Glad to see you checking in! Congrats on maintaining! Always nice to see after a not so good month huh? Here's to a brand new month and a fresh new start!! Hope you had a great walk!

Delphi~ Glad to hear TOM let up on you a bit--he's doing some weird stuff over here too. It's all outta whack! I'm not sure what's going on heavy on my light days, light on my heavy days...??? I'm going to pretend it's my body reacting to the reduced body fat or something like that! ;) Glad you had a relaxing day yesterday hun!! :)

Down a little more today which surprised me, I bet I wouldn't have been had I woke up at my usual 5:30. But, I'm taking it. 143.4 I'm down another 2.25" this week too. :carrot:

Got out of the house alone yesterday and hit Goodwill for some pants and long sleeve shirts as all of mine are starting to get too big. And I figured out why people shell out the big bucks for name brand clothes! Vanity Sizing!!!! Yup! I swear, the more expensive the clothes, the smaller the size you can wear! I am currently wearing Tommy Hilfiger jeans that are size 8--AND--they're LOOSE! I bought Calvins and GAP jeans in the same size, but Levi's and Old Navy--there wasn't a chance of me squeezing into an 8. So, while I KNOW I'm not truly a size 8--it does make me happy to be wearing pants that say they're a size 8. ;)

Okay, well, not much going on here today. Hubby to the boys shooting this morning and I'm hear chillin' with the girls. I hope that we get some chores done around here today as we got nothing at all done yesterday!!! Maybe checking out SG's closet will inspire me!

Hope everyone is having a great day! Tomorrow's the last day of our challenge!!! Let's end the month with a BANG!!!!! Be good to yourselves and be sure to...

Drink Your Water!!!

Morning Ladies,

SG - Loving the closet, and the cat, lol, that looks fantastic. I love all the shelves in there, I see it as a home for shoes, ahhhh shoes. Well enjoy and enjoy that run, you're more than half way finished that program now :)

Susie - Great news on the weight, that's fantastic and you must have been doing something right so don't forget to give yourself some credit. Enjoy your walk!

Delphi - Glad you took a nice day for you, you're making me itch to pull out my controller too we haven't played since b/f vacation, hmmm, maybe during nap time. I have no doubt that the last pesky pound will find it's way down the drain pretty soon, sometimes those days off are just what the doctor ordered. Hang in there with TOM and eat some meat, keep up that iron and don't pass out, those ones are brutal, see your gorgeousness on Monday.

How marvelous that rest day comes every week just when you need it, or maybe cuz you know it's coming you're waiting for it. Who knows but threre's a lot of stiffness in these legs and butt and arms, that legs and back video I did on Friday was fantastic. So today is a nice hour of stretching and that's all she wrote. And just for some extra good vibes I'm down another 0.6lbs today, TOM sucks but he's my friend all at the same time :). I have some scheduled phone time with some friends later (have I mentioned I like routine :)) and I really should tackle my floors and hunt up a birthday present for dh.

Have an awesome Sunday ladies and I'll catch up with ya later.

so, i did not meet my weight loss goal for this month... i am still at 254. But I was higher than that (257) so I am glad to be at the same again, at not having to fight a gain!

Ironically, I met ALL of my other goals for the month, the biggest being 1200 min of exercise, which will be taken care of today. I only have 50 min left to meet goal!!

happy sunday all

CMo4 - you snuck in on me, lol. A vacuum cleaner is a marvelous idea, I'm tired of picking up their crunchy little ickiness with a kleenx. And I think you might really like the cookbook those pancakes are from, it's called The Eat Clean Diet Cookbook by Tosca Reno, she is a contributor to Oxygen Magazine. There's another diety book that it goes with but i was hunting for some good recipes, it's all low processed, low cal, low fat, balanced carb/protien kinda stuff. There are some ingredients that might be hard to find in a few recipes but mostly it's very straight forward easy to cook stuff. And it tastes good! And take that loss, good for you, you've already blown past goal #2, so what's the next moutain you're going conquer?

Dcapulet - Congrats on the minutes and for getting back down, that's a huge accomplishment in itself, bring on September!

so the super duper fantastic pancakes...

Power Oatmeal Pancakes
6 egg whites, beaten until fluffy
1/2 cup low-fat/no fat cottage cheese
1 scoop protien powder
1/2 cup oatmeal, uncooked
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup flax seed (I used flax meal for better digestability)
1 tsp baking powder
1 Tbsp canola oil
1/2 tsp cinnamon
cooking spray

Topping
1/2 cup blueberries (or raspberries)

1. Place all ingredients except beaten egg whites in a food processor and pluse until mixture is unifrom.

2. Place blended ungredients into a bowl and add egg whites. Fold until just blended.

3. Prepare griddle with cooking spray. Laddle pancake mixture (1/4 cup per pancake) onto griddle and cook until both sides are browned.

4. For topping, place blueberries in small saucepan with 1 Tbsp water, mash blueberries and bring mixture to boil. When mixture is syrupy remove from heat and drizzle over pancakes.

Hello ladies!

First of all I would like to thank each and everyone for all the words of encouragement I am truely blessed to in the mist of such worderful ladies. I know that I can not do this journey without all you helping me along the way. I am doing my best to post on here daily from now on. I feel so much better when I am checking in.

Now as for me today I am feeling a little better not so stressed, I can't believe it my birthday is just around the corner and I never thought I would be depressed over it but I seem to feel down and not looking forward to it LOL

I am getting back on the wagon again!!!! Drinking my water and I am starting the HIIT program again today... I have a question for all you ladies that have been doing this for a longer time than I. I am wanting to get a good schedule routine down with my workouts. Should I do just my morning workouts or would it be good to do another later in the day?

Hope you all are having a wonderul day!... I am making lean beef/chicken meatloaf tonight with some steamed veggies... Thanks again for everything you ladies are the greatest.....:grouphug:

Tummy Girl : Thanks this birthday is the Big 40 I know everyone keeps telling me I still look like I am in my 20's and that does help. I guess allot of it is that my daughter is in Hawaii with her family now, and my oldest son is a senior this year and now for my baby he starts high school this year and my step-son is a senor and will be turning 18 in Feb. Wow now that was a mouthfull LOL

As for the workouts I was thinking on doing the HIIT first thing in the morning and then around 1pm I was thinking I might do a resistance band training or some kind of weight training ???? But I am not sure where to start with all that . :)

Hi girlssssss :) Getting off to a late start today. DH is leaving for kentucky tomorrow so it's been pretty busy. We had terrible stormy weather yesterday and it's so nice to see the sun today.

Dccapulet, congratulationsssssssssss girl :carrot::carrot::carrot::cheer2::cheer2::cheer3::c heer::cheer::cheer::broc::congrat:

Tummygirl, congratsssssssss on the loss :carrot::carrot::carrot: enjoy your rest day and thanks for sharing the recipe with us :)

Mystical, hi there : ). Regarding whether to do a morning workout or another one in the afternoon, I like your idea of doing the HIIT and then if you decide to do another afternoon workout do something that entails more of the upper body or alternate with walking as its always safe, etc. When I started, I did upper bod movements (wii fit at the time + increased intensity) as I was quite rusty and didn't want to jump right in to strength training (though it is ok if you start with small weights). It really is up to you but my thoughts are that if your just starting out it may be sufficient to commit yourself to one workout a day on the days you choose and then have your additional workout that day as optional. That way you give yourself some flexibility and you can ease yourself into it, see how your bod feels, not let it get overwhelming (which can backfire), etc. etc. Nothing wrong with doing something in the afternoon too....we sure will be here to root you on :) just think about what you want to set as a goal for accountability and you still have some time to do that. Have a great day :)

Sandye....yvw chickie, hugs right back at you. Wtg on those size 8's, they run different according to brands but heyyyyy you got into plenty of t hem!!! THat rocks girl! :) congrats....have a great day with the girls today.

Jacquee, im glad your mom is feeling better. Delphi, Im glad your feeling better. Susie, wtg on maintaining :carrot::carrot::carrot: Sasha, hope it's a bit cooler there for you today. A big hello to all of our girls, hope everyone is having a great day.

Mystical - my thought would be that some resistance work on you hitt days would be fine or you culd do the resistance stuff on the days you're not doing the cardio. I have found doing both cardio or weights after hitt to be fine, it just seems like with Hiit being so short I have alot of energy left over. But I second what FSA said it depends on your preference for sure.

FSA - Thanks so much and your welcome :)

Hey ladies, our last day is upon us again. Ended up doing a spontaneous trip to Edmonton today to pick up dh's birthday present which ended up being a wonking huge monitor. I can almost fit two full screens up to do personals, I'm feeling fancy. Didn't end up doing my optional stretching today but that's why they call it optional! Super excited to start my P90X tomorrow and get this show on the road. Going to finish cleaning up this disaster of a desk now that I unleashed all the dust bunnies changing the screen.

Hey Ladies!
Well, I don't think today was too bad, but it wasn't too good either. I'm thinking about getting on the treadmill for a little bit, I usually don't workout on Sunday but I have a feeling I won't get a workout in tomorrow with school starting etc.
Tomorrow I will figure out my September goals.
Hope you all had a great weekend!

Still without a "real" scale, so no updates there. I will use my mil's old fashioned scale tomorrow to get some idea. Then I will set my Sept. goals for the WL and Exercise threads. I am feeling a little disconnected this weekend since my schedule's off and I don't know what I weigh, but no biggie. Tomorrow is a good day to set goals and look ahead! Looking forward to seeing ya'll over in the Sept. thread. :D

Good Morning Ladies

Bright and early this morning and loads to do. I tell ya, you let the house go on a weekend and their is no end to what needs to be cleaned up. Should be a rather productive day for me. TOM is screwing with me, as now it seems he is gone..but that would be too good to be true..eh? I don't know what's going on. At any rate, looking forward to starting our new thread and getting back into the swing for September. FSA..I did not maintain a 1000 calorie deficit, so it shouldn't be highlighted in red. :( But thanks again for keeping up with everything. Well it's early and I have to get moving. Pretty much have to start getting up at delphi 0' clock again, if I want to get things done without interruption. Not to mention the fear from the wrath of my two yr. old, if I dare borrow the big TV to do exercise. So you ladies have a great day. See you all in the September thread.

I can't believe August is at an end!
The scale this morning- 144.4!
I'll feel better when its been around for while- but I'll take it. That makes my goal for August!! WooHoo!
Now, what about September??? Time to get more consistent with the exercise. You gals always impress me that way!

Good morning, chickies.

FSA ~Sandye says I need to post my losses so here goes: Started July 1st, lost 7.6 in July, lost a whopping 2.2 in August. I am pretending that today is September 1st, and I am raring to go. Waaay too many things happened in August and I am saying adios!

Good morning girlies!!!!

Tummy~ thanks for the recipe! I think I spotted that cookbook at Target yesterday, but when I thumbed through it I didn't spot any actual recipes so I'll have to check it out again when I have more time to really look it over. Thanks for the info on the P90X too! I was not looking forward to having to buy a whole bunch of stuff to be able to use the program and I'm glad to hear I won't need all that much. I have some resistance bands, but they're pretty cheap, but I'm sure they'd be okay to start off with, I also have a mat as well, so with everything else I'd say I'm set. Just have to get the okay from hubby--I'm feeling a bit guilty because I've yet to use the EA Active...Anyway, thanks again! :) Congrats on the loss yesterday too! Woo hoo! I know exactly what you mean, TOM's a jerk, but he can be a good guy when it comes to the scale sometimes. ;)

dcapulet~ You did a fantastic job this month girlie!!! You should be so proud of yourself! I bet part of the reason you didn't lose more is because you gained some muscle hun! Did you happen to take your measurements at the beginning of the month? I'd be curious to see how many inches you lost! :) WTG on a great month!!!

Mystical~ Glad to hear you're feeling better hun! Time does fly doesn't it? I wish I could still look like I'm in my 20's when I turn 40! Heck, I'm 37 and look every year of it, so I'd take looking like I'm in my 20's right now! As far as the exercise routine, here's what I do: I tackle my HIIT/C25K first thing in the morning before breakfast. On my HIIT days I have ST'ing with free weights and I usually try to tackle that as soon as I get my HIIT in. Sometimes it ends up taking me forever though because of the kiddos. But, no matter how long it takes, I get it in before breakfast so that don't have to try to squeeze it in later. I have worked out at night, but I found that for me, it was tough to wind down after working out and showering because I had more energy after exercising and couldn't go to sleep. However, it is a great way to end the day that's for sure! :) FSA had some great advice too! When I started out I didn't do anything extra on my ST'ing days. I did HIIT 3 days a week and ST'ing 3 days and always in the morning before breakfast. Try out a routine for a week and see how it goes, maybe Sept can be your month to find your ideal routine! :D

FSA~ Hope you had a great weekend hun and I'm glad to hear you got some sunshine in yesterday! I can't wait to hear how much the group lost this month! Thanks for tallying it all up for us!!

Ruth~ glad to hear you had a good day yesterday! I bet today's going to be a blur with school starting up! We'll catch ya on the Sept thread--have you figured out your goals yet? :)

MsP~ you're a stronger soul than I! I'd be going bananas without my scale! You're awesome! :) Hope your mom's scale is kind to you and I'm looking forward to another great month with you!!!

Delphi~ Oh honey, you're singin' my song! We got nothing done this weekend and here I am, yet again, with a list of stuff to do! Sigh...hubby was down in the dumps yesterday so that's part of why we didn't do anything. I think he's a bit stressed and maybe feeling a little like he really should be joining me in exercising and eating better--but he's not wanting to so he's conflicted. We'll see how that works out. I'm all for getting in the workout without interruption! I'm thinking I need to be getting out of bed even earlier--5:30 isn't cuttin' it. I end up taking 15-20 mins to get myself downstairs and before I know it, the boys need to get up and I still haven't done my ST'ing! And we all know how grumpy I get when I can't get my ST'ing in without interruption! ;) Hope you have a great day chickie!!

Jacque~ glad to hear your mom is doing so well!! :carrot: Hope you're enjoying your vacation! Catch ya over on the Sept thread!

Pucedaisy~ Congrats on making your goal!!!! :broc: As for the exercise, like I said on the Sept exercise thread--check that board often! Even if you don't post, just seeing everyone's minutes and workouts logged in is SO motivating!!!!

Mom~ Hee hee, you're ratting me out aren't you? Making me sound like a meanie. ;) But you failed to mention your NSV!!! Speaking of which, did you take your measurements this morning? :) Hope your pinkie is feeling better! Have a great mock First Day of September!!! :D

Okay ladies--it's here! The Last Day of August!!! We had another great month of laughing and cheering each other on! We saw some huge losses, goals accomplished and new programs started!! I'm so very proud of each and every one of you ladies and thank you all for your continued support and encouragement not to mention the inspiration you've all provided with your will power and determination!!!

I'm ending the month at 143 flat! :carrot: I went to tally up my loss for the month and found that I actually started the month at 150.2 not 151 d'oh! So, I'm down a total of 7.2 this month.

I MET all of my goals this month--I not only tried new recipes, I tried new foods! Eggplant, it turns out, isn't the vile disgusting thing I thought it would be! It was pretty darn good grilled on the bbq! I am loving calorie cycling and I've started using olive oil in my cooking instead of non-stick spray (although I am still using that as well). Fruits and veggies are not a permanent fixture in my diet so I consider that a victory as well. :)

So, all in all, a great month despite my stall out in the beginning. :) I look forward to another wonderful month with you ladies and all the newbies as well!

Now get out there and have yourself a fantastic day girls and of course, be sure to...

Drink Your Water!!!

Morning ladies,

Ruth - Hope you got that treadmill workout in and have fun with your busy day today.

MsP - I know how you feel I got like that at the end of my vacation too, felt a little disconnected from myself with no routine to tie me down. Hope your scale adventures go well today, so close to that 149!

Delphi - Wow that's early posting my dear I will never know how you do that. WTG on your goals as always and have fun cleaning up! It's odd my three year old thinks she owns the TV too (not to mention her parents and every toy in the world) and I swear she's never had a job before to earn that kind of money, go figure.

Jacque - So glad to hear mom's on the mend, you seem to come from a long line of determined woman ;)

Pucedaisy - Congrats on making goal, that's awesome and maybe join us over on the other thread for some nice exercise goals?! We'd love to have you.

LTTG - So glad you're back, and glad you're ready for September and 2.2 is better than gaining and better than maintaining :)

CMo4 - I did that too, there's actually two books, one is the "diet" book called "the eat clean diet" and the cookbook is called "the eat clean diet cookbook" there is also a family cookbook with kid friendly recipes although I didn't flip through that one. The cook book I bought was sold out everywhere I went looking for it and I finally found it in Nova Scotia at a little ma and pa book store. My bands weren't much either but you just need a place to hang them where you can pull down on them, like a rafter in the basement or something like that but if they're lighter ones you can just back up really far and it works great. I was really surprised at the workout I got doing that instead of the real pull ups (although I'm going do those one day too dang it!) Oh I tried chinease eggplant the other day, gilled on the BBQ and I liked it a million times better than regular, thought I'd share :) Congrats on that amazing loss and for sticking it out.

One tends to get all retrospective on the last day, awww, but this month was pretty great, a lot of new comers stuck around right to the end and are already in for next month which is great. It's so nice to see all the accomplishments hard working determined ladies achieve. And some days when chips seem like they are calling my name it's this board that makes them shut up and that's so invaluable to me.

This month, with another 0.4lb loss this morning, makes 10lbs, I aimed for 8lbs hoping that I would have something to stive for but in the back of my mind I was happy with 6lbs. I should have known better than to shoot low, we only ever get what we expect so it's a good thing halfway through the month I expected more. Next month holds some sentimental moments for me so I might be a bit mushy and weepy here and there. When I hit 167 next month I'm gonna have a wee crying jag before beginning my day, I have no idea what lower than that looks like, no clothes smaller than that but oddly enough I'm a million times in better shape than last time I weighed that. Not to mention I ate a heck of a lot better to get here than I did last time too. So cheers to August and all you lovely ladies:cheers:

Now I need to go get me a ticker with some decimal points...

current weight is 168 lbs.

Thanks everyone!!

My goal for August was to lose 3-5 lbs and I ended up losing 4lbs so I'm happy with that. That seems to be what I've lost for the past three months so I guess I'll stick with that for September too. I really want to shoot for 6lbs. I think adding strength training back in may help me to get there.
I did upper body weights on Saturday night and I started feeling the results last night, but its a good feeling and while I didn't lose any more weight since Saturday, when I got up this morning I noticed I'm definitely looking trimmer.

I didn't get the treadmill workout in last night, I was just too pooped, it had been a looooong day. But I did get on the stationary bike for a few minutes.

Jacque Glad to hear your mom is doing great!

Hello ladies, I had a terrible night last night. I could not fall asleep my mind was just racing all night long. I finally fell asleep about 5 am this morning. So needless to say I did not get up early and do HIIT... So I decided my first day back to a routine would be a little off.... I am going to do HIIT around 1 today and see how I feel, I just might get a resistant band workout in... Does anyone have a good routine using resistance bands.. My DH got me a good set from the gym equipment store. He paid allot of money for them so I don't want to let them just sit there and collect dust LOL... Any ideas would be great. Hope you all have a fantastic day... Thanks for the awesome support... :)

I'm rushing through right now to get posting here and on the Sept threads (I finally nailed down my Sept goals). I have that my start weight this month was 156 and I believe I did make goal of 149.8 (and not an ounce less). I did not make the vitamin goal, though. Oh well, we'll keep working on that one! Not having a scale is totally messing with me. I now know I NEED the scale to help me focus. My mil's new (old fashioned) dial scale showed me right at 150 this morning....I can't for the life of me figure out why they bought another dial scale when their last one sucked, but anyway....I am not making progress. Just moving up .2 and down .2 for the last week or so. Not cool. I'll take it in stride though, just part of the process. I'm gonna take measurements and hope that shows more progress. Later gals!

Hello Ladies,

So I stopped posting on here once I realized the new month's thread was up. Sorry! I just felt like posting on there. I am happy to say that since my cold is mostly over I weighed in at the doctor's today and said that I was 217, which means it's showing my 7 pound loss for this month. :) I'm very excited since on Friday their scale said 219. I think as far as my other goals, I did start out very well on them, but I know there is room for improvement. I can't wait for the new month!

As for this being my first month with this challenge, I had an amazing time with you ladies! It feels SO much easier with you ladies. I know once I get more perfect OP days that I can loose my 10 pound (and even more) goal for next month; even with school starting and trying to find a job.

I love you ladies! I am very happy to be returning for next month and even starting to use the September Exercise thread. :)

<3 Goodnight Ladies.
