What on-plan food works as comfort food for you?

I'm fighting a nasty flu :(:(:( and my long-standing flu comfort food, buttered burned toast, is NOT an option. If I choke down one more forkful of scrambled eggs I might shoot somebody!

What healthy foods help to pull you out of an icky slump?

Pork rinds, chicken broth, bacon tomato salads with sour cream ranch dressing. I haven't done Atkins in years, but these were all my favorite snacks.

I love summer sausage. I also love to get a piece of tinfoil and curl it up, throw a bunch of chopped up vegis, like summer squash, zuchinni, spinach, tomatoes. If you want throw a little butter in there. Maybe do a pack like we did in girl scouts and do hamburger with all those vegis in a tin foil pack. That would be tasty as well. I always made stew whenever I would jump start myself on that diet as well. Get a big roast, sear in the juices, throw in water, beef bouillon cubes, some carrots, mostly summer squash, onions, mushrooms, all sorts of good stuff, bay leaf. I could eat that for several days straight. My favorite part about it was I would get this big ole' bowl, and heat up the soup, and then throw in a baby bel of cheese to melt all over so it was a gooey mess. That is good stuff.

If you nuke them to much they get a bit dry... so just nuke it a little at a time until they are perfect for you  <--- is right.

One of my favorite comfort foods is fried cheese, but I have to be careful with it because if I eat too much my weight loss will stall.

If its buttered bread your craving Sami's Bakery in Tampa does wonderful 7 grain (2 carbs) & cinnamon raisin bread (3 carbs) top it off w/sugar free honey or 0 carb Walden jelly, I feel so normal when I can healthily enjoy the sinful things I loved to eat.

For me warm broccoli with cheese & butter, it's delicious and a treat because I'm really trying to limit myself to salad veggies most of the time.
