This week is even more difficult than I expected. Today work felt out of control. I don't know what happened to yesterday's post, but maybe it was sign of things to come :tired:.

Thursday's goals:

Remember to breathe!
Gym workout
Follow my eating plan--no straying!

Lewisempire--think soup, soft, overcooked veggies, and very "thoughtful" chewing ;). I had a small salad today, which was very exciting but slow going.

I've been AWOL--in more ways than one. Blame it on stress, the full moon, the shocking news that a young billionaire athlete cheats on his wife , but it's been hard to be at all centered this week. I haven't been good about setting and focusing on goals.

Saturday's goals:

Write out today's food plan
Write out Sunday's food plan tonight
Workout

Regarding binge eating -- it is the one thing that I know I MUST control. I have succeeded thus far in losing weight because when I have binged I have done so on vegetables, but -- to my mind -- that is still binge eating.

I often re-read the following post I saved from Lori Bell about the binge. It speaks to me and perhaps might help someone here. She wrote it in response to a person who was trying to stop binge eating:

Just a thought, but how about vowing to stop binging? If you don't do it, then you don't have the guilt. And yes, it is possible to stop...it doesn't have to be part of life. Binges are not simple eating a little to much one day as many will have you to believe, but gorging on food, any available food, quickly and usually secretly. This is NOT a normal part of life, it is not a little slip. It is an illness a lot like binge drinking and/or alcoholism. There is an actual diagnosis code for binge eating. The only way you will get better is if you abstain from the behavior. I have to admit, I don't read here much, because reading about other peoples binges, and then reading some of the responses like, "it's okay", "just dust yourself off", "we are human", "life happens" and all the other sugar coated replies makes me think it fine to binge...because so many say it's A-O-KAY. It's not okay. It's not part of a normal way of life. You feel bad because it was an abnormal thing to do to your body. Your emotional response to the binge is normal, the act itself is not. If you can't stop doing it on your own, then get professional help.

So with the holidays...and baking cookies for my work and for family it has been hard. Plus, this weekend I'm going to be making 2 homemade apple pies from scratch. So my goals are as follows:

Tuesday - Only have one peice of 60 calorie dark chocolate - if that. No cookies! No sweets for the day! I need a break. Exercise for 30 minutes or more.

Exercise: Exercise 4 times this week and try to have one day at the gym. :lifter:

This weekend - Can have once slice of pie but that's it. If I make apple pie spice chocolate chip :cookie: this weekend to go with the pie I will not scarf down the dough. I will just make them and let my husband sample if they come out good or not. Ok and 1 :cookie: but I have to be sure to workout after eating it or else NO COOKIE & NO PIE! :P

Yes, this is what I have to tell myself to make sure I'm behaving. :carrot:

I am out-of-town and have been eating out at least once a day, sometimes twice. I have done pretty well, but not great. I haven't gained any weight and maybe even lost 2 pounds in 3 weeks but I could have done so much better. I'm driving home, leaving Sunday, will get there Tues. (long drive). So today, I am committing to my friends here at 3FC, to making very good choices when I am eating out until I get home next week.

When I think about it, after I eat the meal, it's done. I barely remember what I ate. And what does a meal take to eat -- 30 minutes at the outside? So why not eat the BEST foods I can fuel my body and weight loss with? I have NOT been shoveling it in, I've been doing portion control okay when I am out (for which I am thankful and blessed, as portion control is a continuing struggle.) In fact, I think I have brought home a "to-go" container on almost every meal out this week.

Soooooo, if I simply substitute "the best" foods for "okay" foods, I will be doing great eating out.

Thanks, chickies!
