What do you have for breakfast? Is it something that is filling? Some protein, fiber..? Something that will help hold you over? Or maybe try adding a healthy snack in between meals? Low fat or fat free yogurt with fruit or air popped corn or veggies or nuts or some tuna and wheat crackers.

Actually, I rarely make to lunch regardless what I have for breakfast, so I plan for at least some kind of snack, often somewhat substantial. Afternoons I'm OK without a snack.

K first I just want to say I am down 2 pounds.. I "felt lighter" this morning lol and gave in to the scale.. yaya! lol

K.. so I like this thread lol helps with the journalling part of all this for me.. lol so here goes.. my day so far...

Early Am - 8oz glass of skim milk with Carnation Instant Breakfast
- 1 Fruit to Go (cherry)

1 liter of water and 1 stick of gum

Mid Morning Snack - bowl of CornFlakes with skim milk and 1/2 c. blueberries

Lunch - Nutrition Supplement Shake
- an apple

**will update later this evening**

am back... lol

in the afternoon i had 1 stick of gum and drank another liter of water through out the evening

Supper - Fresh Salmon Sandwich ( I cook salmon with herbs in the oven and then break up and save to make sandwiches for the week.. its nice and cool in the summer.. have it on 12 grain bread(2 slices) with 1tbsp low fat mayo ( i usually use a home made dressing for this but did not hav time to make it.. is way less calories and much better for you) water to drink

Snack - this evening i made my own version of trailmix cookies.. very low in calories (made with whole wheat and brown rice flours, ground flax seed, oatmeal, mashed bananas, chopped dates, dried craisins and coconut) I had 3 of these with a glass of skim milk.

There done for another day... lol night all!

EDIT -

i found this really nice tip from another thread (i can make you thin)

.....The post by vikkivma, below, had a great guideline.

Vikkivma
I've decided to start this. I figure if I can't stick to it, then it's just me making excuses, because I'm not being banned from food or forced to weigh and measure and count, etc. I've heard that a good guideline to know when you're full is to wait for that moment when you take a big deep breath or sigh.

I've been noticing that I do take a big deep breath when I'm eating. In fact I was out to dinner tonight and realized right in the middle of the deep breath what was happening. But I had so much food left on my plate (about half), and it was so good, that I took 2-3 more bites. Then I quit. I should have quit right after the breath because in about 2 minutes I felt over full. Oh well, work in progress. :D

and during my dinner, i suddenly caught myself drawing a big breath! and i was nearing being full. but because i was being greedy , i continued eating, and then i too after about 5 minutes realised i was stuffed. ooopsy! i took about 24 minutes eating my meal. usually i take 5-10minutes! depending on how hungry i am. but i ate very slowy. and only managed to eat half of what i normally would eat!

my dinner was: appetizer - 1 pear. it was delicious! it was so juicy and sweet and it just burst into flavours in my mouth.
dinner - 1/2 cup of cooked veggy white rice. 1 tablespoon of chicken curry with 1 small chicken piece. 1 tablespoon of yoghurt. a few leaves of iceberg lettuce. 1/2 cup of chick peas curry.
and i tell ya. i am full and satisfied!!
i could easily in the past have eaten 2 CUPS of rice! so i am so suprised at myself!!! eating slowly, putting down your fork, really does work. next time, as soon as i take a deep breath or sigh, i will stop eating.

You can find that any given weekend here. DH is predictable.

Tonight we are having grilled chicken breast with a Caribbean Jerk marinade, sliced and put into a flat bread with cheese, throwing that back on the grill sandwich style to melt the cheese. Along side of that will be steamed veggies and a spinach salad.

EDIT:

Just finished eating, that marinade ROCKS! It was extremely yummy in the tummy.

This morning at 0700 2 cups of coffee with splenda and 4 tablespoons of half and half. 0930 1 point bagel and 1 point cream cheese. between then and now sipping on a rasberry lime sparkle water drink. When I get back home (I'm at the library with my daughter, she's looking at books and facebook) I will have a salad with fat free balsamic vinagrette dressing, 3 oz of pork chop, and 2 servings of granola made in applesauce. My snacks for the day later will be 1 apple, 2 servings of grapes, maybe another 2 servings of granola. I'm off today from work (ER Nurse) so what ever my family is having (3-4 oz meat serving, salad, maybe green beans or asparagus) and finally ww 1 point chocolate fudgecicles to rid me off cravings in the late evening. I have to plan, otherwise I fall hard off the wagon. hugs to you

Tried a new tea, it's "green tea with pomegranate"... Bigelow brand. I didn't particularly like it unsweetened, but when I added some Splenda, it was good.

I'm about to eat my afternoon snack of applesauce (3/4 cup).
