:carrot::carrot::carrot::D:D I can FINALLY do a pushup! A full out, on my feet, NOT my knees PUSHUP! I tried for two but almost fell on my face.
But one will only lead to more so I'm excited! My first NSV!:dizzy:

WOOOOO!! That is awesome!!

Congrats! That's amazing!

I'd die if I tried to do a pushup lol...

I can only do "girlie push-ups" (knee) as DS14 calls them. I cannot do regular push-ups without falling flat on my face! Sometimes we have push-up contests at home to see if we can outdo each other. I can usually do 15-20 "girlie push-ups" vs DS & DH's 15 "manly push-ups".

woohoo! Congratulations! Push ups are my personal favorite form of exercise that isn't a sport.

Congrats! Go you!

Awesome!!! I'm trying to work back up to my high of 27, but that was when I was in the service. I can barely do one right now. Keep up the good work and you will bust 2 out in no time!!!

EveLHaelf, congrats! How long have you been trying to do a real push up? I am working my way up to that in fitness bootcamp, but I am not there yet. Good Job!

08-05-2009, 03:51 PM
awesome! I can only do like 5 "girlie" ones and then i'm on my face

08-05-2009, 04:27 PM
Congrats! It's a great feeling, isn't it?! I remember I tried for months to do just one and finally I did it. It gets so much easier after that. I can pop out a good 30 "manly" push ups if I really need to. You'll be popping them out in no time. =)

AWESOME!!! It only takes ONE to get you motivated for the second...

Wow, way to go! You are more woman than I am!

I can crank out about 5 very good ones but after that, the form goes downhill quickly. After 10, it makes no sense to continue (ie. on my toes).
But, in my recent Chest & Back workout (from the P90X series), I did 158 of the "girlie" ones on my knees (within one hour). But, I would not advertise it anywhere because they really sucked.

Anyway, since we are speaking about push ups, here is how NOT to do them:
It's Kelly Ripa's push up challenge. She does an respectable number of them but the quality is not good (although I admit I admire her for the number nevertheless).

That was my NSV a couple months back. Now I can so many in a row! Keep at it!

I am impressed! I just tried one for the heck of it and it was sooooo not happening! :D WOOT WOOT for you!

thanks so much for sharing with us! you actually inspired me to get off the chair and get to the floor and try it myself. you see, i thought i couldn't do one, so i've been doing those knee-push-ups. so i got down on the floor and i did 10 (TEN) of them! now i'll get stronger faster all thanks to you! who knows when i'd finally try to do a real push-up if it wasnt for you! ^^
i think it's great when people can inspire those around. i hope that my weight loss will let somebody at my work know that they CAN do it too. i think the way these 30lb changed me is starting to move one of my colleagues to the healthier life. i keep my fingers crossed that i'll inspire someone to change ^^

Congrats on the pushup!

You inspired me to try...good thing I live alone because it was sad. I will have to stick to the "girly" pushups for now. I will join you eventually!

good thing I live alone because it was sad.

I tried in front of my husband who can do them. I plunked face first on the first one and he totally gave me a pity look before saying "ok, we'll work on this um... later." He hasn't tried since. :p

My husband is in the AF so he can really crank em' out and it's so embarrasing trying to do them when he is around! He was glad to hear I can do one now though. :D

Guys and their upper body strength....SHEESH ;)

You wouldn't know it looking at my hubs, though. Grrrr. You can totally tell I lack any kind of arm strength. It's from my mom. Yeah. That's what it is. ;)

Yesterday, I did do some arm workouts because I don't like how flabby they're getting so maybe in time I'll be able to do a pushup too, yay!

08-07-2009, 11:17 AM
how awesome. I just couldn't do normal push up for god knows why. that's a great NSV.

08-08-2009, 03:58 PM
