good morning  I did 2 miles this morning.

I used the Burn Body Fat 2 mile with 1 lb hand weights in each hand. Have I mentioned that I really like Leslie's soft hand weights that come with that set.

I also want to share something else - I started following a low glycemic index diet 2 weeks ago and I have lost 5 lbs, which is MAJOR for me!!! I struggle and struggle and lose nothing but it seems that cutting out all the sugar and most of the white stuff is really making a difference for me AND my scale is lower than it has been in 2 years. I'm psyched!!!

hope everybody has a great day!
hugs,
Cathy

Cathy: Good job on your two miles and :congrat:on the 5 pounds you lost!!! :woohoo: You go girl!!! :cheer:

*I'm trying lowering my exercise down to 3 times a week instead of five. We'll see how it goes!

cathy all I can say is wow, I have been doing ww now for almost a year and have stalled most of the time...they say because I have not much to lose?? right! Can you tell me more about low glycemic? some basic stuff?

btw I did the 5mile fat burn sun and mon but am taking a break today...my body screamed at me last night and I could only do 4 of the 5 miles...which really upset me since I have been doing the 5 mile for almost 3 weeks solid only taking 1 day off a week.

Tomorrow back to the grindstone...but I love it

Nancy - I absolutely love WW and think it is a great program but the last time I tried it I lost like 3 lbs in 6 months. I am just a really hard case ;-)

Basically low glycemic is about eating low glycemic food which means basically lean protein and veggies and fruits but NO sugar. you can have a little long grain rice or brown rice and new boiled potatoes but that is basically all the "white stuff" you get. Also on the initial phase of it you only get 1 slice of 3 grain bread a day. you can read the basics at gidiet.com I got the book and I'm just eating the "green light" foods. the amazing thing is, is that I am NOT hungry, and I was staying hungry all the time. I guess it's really try that sugar makes you hungry.

this morning I am down 5.7 lbs!!!! I am so excited!!! :cp:

Good afternoon, Ladies,
Yesterday didn't go well for me. The 1st day of school is always chaotic, and I ended up having to help out in the office, which I didn't expect. And everywhere I turned there were donuts and other sweets. And I was so hungry all day. Exercise was a total washout with the evening things going on. For once I can honestly say I missed it, and so did my blood sugar. This morning I got up ready to start anew and so far it's gone much better. Went with a friend to a 1 hr water aerobics class and had fun. But, whoo we worked it hard! So, I'm pretty happy with this day. We'll see what the evening brings. Have a good day, all.

hi everyone, i've been doing my Walk at home dvd for a couple weeks now, it's great for being in an apartment over other people (especially a cranky old man). I did 3 miles today. I'm haley btw, student, mother (Kate, 5) and 5k runner (veeeeeeeery slow but I'm ok with that) and vegan.

Kim K

Hi Haley!!! Welcome to the thread!!! Great job on your walks! :running: I live over someone in an apartment too so I agree with you on how great Leslie's DVDs are for that!

hello, I walked 2 miles today, and I really didn't feel like doing any because I don't feel good today

I love the WATP DVDs! I have messed up knees, so I have a hard time doing anything that isn't low impact. Also, they really make me sweat!

I typically do the Walk At Home 3 Mile Weight Loss Walk. I *just* graduated to 3 pound weights.

Anyway, did the 3 miles today :)

Kim K

Bac0s: Great job on the three miles! :cheer:

Today I did 4 miles of the '5 Mile Fat Burning Walk'. :carrot:

I did one mile yesterday, and two miles today.

I sent back the 3 Mile DVD, and I own the WalkDiet DVD.

I felt really sick yesterday, thus the one mile, but today I was feeling well and I really missed the 3 miles, it was so much more challenging.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

I forgot to log in my progress yesterday! I did '4 Fast Miles!' :running: I know I said I may cut my exercise down to 3 times a week, but I may keep it at 5 times since I'm not doing anything anyway. I don't work or have any children to take care of.

Adding 3 miles today, ladies. Did the 1 mile walk, then what was supposed to be a short walk to get my DD uniform for school from a friend's house was almost 2.5 miles round trip. A bit tired in the hips, but did fine. Got in another 1 hr water aerobics on my birthday Thursday. Did pretty well last week, and a good start to this week.

Hi ladies!!! :)

Today I did 'Fast & Firm! - 4 Really Big Miles'. :exercise:

I just bought the 'advanced 5 Mile Walk' and an older one called 'Deluxe Walkaerobics Special Edition Walk Aerobics (Weight Loss Walk/Two Mile Walk)'. The special edition one has a 4 mile and a 2 mile walk. For the advanced 5 mile one you need some equipment, but I plan to do it without equipment except the stretchy band which I have. I hope I like them as much as the ones I already have. I plan to use both for a 4 mile walk. I've never been able to do 5 miles.

Good Morning Gang
everybody is doing GREAT! :cheer:

I've been tied up for a few days with my mother and then slept in yesterday morning when I should have been walking ;)

But this morning I did 3 miles! :cp: I used the new Walk Your Belly Flat and loved it. I really like the Walk Clock! It counts down each mile seperately so it would be easy to do 1 or 2 or 3 miles. love it.

Also wanted to mention that on Leslie's website right now you can order the 5k With a Twist and/or The Big Burn 2 Miles of Intervals and get free shipping. If you are a member they cost $12.71 each. Non members pay $14.95, but you really save by paying NO shipping costs. The offer is only good until August 16.

I already have The Big Burn and I love that one. Besides the workout I really like the whole gang on that one. So I ordered the 5k with a Twist today :p

hope everybody has a great :running: day!
hugs,
Cathy

Kim K

Cathy: Great job on the three miles! :cheer2: I went to Leslie's website and couldn't find 5k with a twist anywhere. Am I doing something wrong?:dizzy:

P.S. I just found it on Collage Video! :)

hey kim - go into the "store: new products" and then click on "walking workouts" next to "new releases" and then click on the pink # 3 and then it is the 2nd workout on the left. 5k is about 3 miles so it is under the 3 mile workouts. hope you find it. let me know if i don't make sense lol

Kim K
08-11-2009, 07:58 PM
Cathy: I just found it! Thank you! :) I'm very tempted to buy the black studded "WALK" t-shirt. It's so pretty and I like when Leslie wears one on one of my DVDs. They are on back order now so I have time to think about it! I love Leslie! :)

Well I have been MIA for 5 days ugh and I feel horrible. I did the 5 mile walk tonight and by mile 4 I was running out of steam but got a second wind and finished with my HR in the target zone.

The 5 day break was needed my body just felt beat up and I could not seem to get enough rest. I think I need to cut my workouts back to 4-5 days a week instead of 6 day of 60min cardio?

thoughts about this?

Kim K
08-12-2009, 02:15 AM
nancylmrn: Great job on the 5 miles! :cheer: As far as cutting back your exercise, I would definitely say to listen to your body. If you feel it's too much you're probably right! I think 4 or 5 days a week is great! :running:

Kim - I'm so glad you found it :)

Well, everyone seems to be coming along just great. I am all off-kilter again with the new school schedule, and now this week is when all of the extra stuff starts--mainly dance for both my daughter and I. But tonight I will go to tap class and tomorrow AM I am meeting my friend for water aerobics, so that is a good thing. Friday and the weekend are going to be WATP videos--at least that is the plan. Wait now, I did get a mile in last evening unexpectedly that I just remembered, so I will add that to my total. I hate when that CRS jumps in on me!

Have a good evening! Kathy:hug:

great job Kathy and Kim!
tonight I did the 4 fast miles, I wanted to add the 1 mile jog but my body said nopers not today LOL

I have the advanced 5 mile walk, I need to get it out and do that one for awhile, the only thing is I don't have the waist thing so I have to improvise with the stretchy band and sometimes that does not work so great

My in-laws showed up from Florida for a quick 3-day visit on Tuesday and I started back to work (I'm a teacher) yesterday :dizzy:. I need to figure out a schedule I can live with for walking AND getting to work on time. Haven't had time to think it through yet. Hopefully this weekend.......

Hiya Girls,

Dunno if you remember me - I used to post a while ago.

Anyway, was just wondering... do any of you use a pedometer with your videos? How accurate are they for these?

I was thinking of getting one and going back to doing the videos now that I set my garage up.

Kim K

Hi Courtnie. :) It's nice to meet you! I don't use a pedometer when I do Leslie's videos.

Courtnie - I've never used a pedometer with Leslie so I'm no help there.

I've got a big ole cold so I took off yesterday and today but I will TRY to get up tomorrow morning and walk. I'm not gonna stress myself over it too much, just want to feel well enough to walk rather than pushing it.

hope everybody has a great :running: day!

Hi, everyone! School has made my life even more busy (if that's possible)! So I haven't done a Leslie workout since the 17th--UNTIL TODAY!!

I'm doing a pretty good job of getting at least 10000 steps in during the week (yes, I'm a pedometer geek), but the weekends are TERRIBLE!! I came close yesterday, but that's because we drove to Des Moines and walked around a bunch of stores including the new Bass Pro Shop (hubby wanted to go). Today would have been a total bust if I hadn't decided to do a Leslie walk. I may still come up short, but at least I did something!

I chose the fast 2 mile Walk Off Even More Weight with the weighted belt. It is amazing how that little thing around your middle really helps get your heart rate up!

Anyway.....I haven't forgotten about this group, I just have limited time teaching full time and doing all the things a mom of 2 teenagers does!

Wow, I've been so neglecting you guys. I'm sorry! Summer's just been really busy, but I've tracking the miles.

June was 35 miles done.
July was 28 miles done.

August, so far, is 34.5 miles... I've tackled the 5-mile DVD twice this month, and my bf and I did a lot of walking when we went to Mystic, CT.

I'm about to do 2 miles, so that'll be 36.5...so far, making August the most-walked month of the year.

I haven't had a chance to scroll through these posts, but I hope you all are doing well and feeling well!
