Post NYTimes article on what's wrong with the way we eat

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/28/ma...pagewanted=all

I thought this was really great - it explains why so much of the information we get about food conflicts and the flaws inherent in "nutritionism."

Yep - Michael Pollan wrote that article, and if you enjoyed it, he has some AWESOME books...An Omnivores Dilemma and In Defense of Food. I read and enjoyed (and try to exercise the principles in) both.

I just watched the movie "Food, Inc." last night and Michael Pollan was in a large portion of it, explaining how America has got to the point it has in food production. I plan to read his books now. What an eye-opener!

Michael Pollan wrote the cover story in today's New York Times Sunday Magazine: Out of the Kitchen, Onto the Couch. It's about the rise in popularity of television shows about food and cooking happening at the same time that people have pretty much stopped cooking at home. Another eye-opening Pollan article!

Great article, and In Defense of Food is great book.
The whole "eat food. not too much. mostly plants" advice is a beautiful, succinct thing. I dig it.
