100 lb. Club - Working at my kids' camp wiped me out

We just returned from a 3 day preteen camp. I knew that I wasn't in good enough shape to be a counselor, so I signed up for laundry. Even that wore me out! I was counselor 2 years ago &, while exhausted, I was able to keep up with the kids through the 13 hour days, running all over the place.

I have really gotten out of shape in the past 2 years, besides having heel & ankle pain. I sprained my ankle last fall & it is almost better, but still twinges after a long day on my feet. My heel has been hurting for several months, especially when I wake up in the morning, possibly heel spur or something else. It does seem to be getting better so I'm trying to get back into a walking routine. It is hard to get back into exercise after being off for so long.

Anyway, my goal for next summer is to be in good enough shape to be a counselor again, & to be closer to 200 than 300 lbs. Maybe you guys can help me stay on target :-) I am so glad I joined this forum - it is very inspiring to me.

Good luck with the goal -- also, don't be shy about seeing a doc for that heel. Nothing ore frustrating when you exercise than injury that is always agravating things!

hey, bcort. foot injuries truly suck. if you don't rest it enough, then you end up irritating it more, gawk.

I think I bruised a muscle in my arch, or irritated it, and it's taking a few days to get better. it's slowed down my exercise routine, and now I have to motivate myself to get back into full swing.

I'm sure that camp must really test your stamina! sounds like fun though.
