Just checked the posts again here.............phenomenal woman, hope your pulled muscle feels better. Please becareful and dont push it...better to let it rest a day and miss a day or two of workouts than to injure ourselves and then be unable to do anything for a long duration. Anyhow, your doing great. Happy weekend :)

Hi jessica, wtg on the wii and turbo jam workouts :carrot::carrot::carrot: IT does count.( I realize just today how much more I could do and how a lot of the upper bod workouts i was doing w/the wii helped a lot)...keep up the great work : )

FullSteamAhead: 1,200 minutes. Post my minutes a minimum of 5x/wk.
crazymamaof4: strength training 3x/wk, C25K 3x/wk, + add an additional form of exercise on my strength training days.
Delphi: 2,500 minutes of exercise..get in 2 workouts a day 6 days a week.
NewShinyMe: Complete 850 min. minimum, complete new EA active 30 day challenge, and workout 6 days a week.
mygritsconfessions: cardio every other day for 45 min, + 35 min. on opposite days.
p7eggyc: Increasing goal by 10% to 880 minutes.
TERAPET: 1600 minutes of exercise
mamatoni: exercise at least 5 days a week
EmmaD: Plan out and stick to a specific schedule each week, 3.5 hrs.cardio/wk, 1hr. strength training a week, + 15 min. stretching a day.

I think I've already met my minutes goal for the month, but still gotta work on the rest! I've also found a 5K at the end of this month that I'm gonna try to register for this week. Good times!

So I either severly stubbed or broke my pinkey toe about three days ago (it was all swolen and nasty), but today I could get my shoes on so I was able to do a semi-aggressive workout. I'm still recovering from having a baby a month ago and the little things I used to could do with no problem are kicking my butt, but it'll get better again. :)

Welcome Bigsexy! Boy are you dedicated--if I broke my toe, I would not be doing any sort of aggressive workout--way to go! Especially so soon after having a baby! It has taken me two years since the birth of my DD to get by butt in gear to lose the weight....

I am so proud of myself right now I could bust. I just went running....yes you read that right, my fat ars just went for a jog. I haven't been jogging since P.E. in high school. and I was like 100 pounds lighter so it wasn't hard or anything....I just hated running. Always have. It's just so boring to me! I could run for hours if I was playing a sport or something, but just running around a track was torture. So anyways, I had absolutely no intentions of running at all to lose weight. In fact--I was against it!
However, I felt the Wii Fit wasn't really enough of a workout, so I started doing the 5 minute jog on it....then the 10....then the island run. Still not the same as really running, since you are running in place....but I did the 20 min run the other day and was surprised I could do it without stopping, even if it was in place. Last night DD and I were at the park, and just for the fun of it, I started running around the track to see what would happen, and it wasn't that horrible. DD had to stop like every few minutes, so I got a lot of breaks...but still running didn't cause me to burst into flames. So tonight, I broke out the stroller and went for a nonstop actual run....after a few minutes I was kinda tempted to stop, but I just pushed myself and kept running all the way to the end of the road our driveway comes out on. Checked my ipod and it had been 10 minutes. Not alot, I know compared to you awesome ladies on here, but considering it has been 10 years....and I am now carrying like 100+ extra pounds, I am so proud of my big ole booty for doing even a small jog!

Anyways, I speedwalked the driveway back (I could speedwalk the same speed I was running, lol) and made up my mind to keep trying it and work my way up to running to the end of the road and back by the end of September. Still probably won't be ready for the C2thingy ya'll are doing on here, but maybe after that!

EDIT: Ok, I just went and actually found out what C25K was and I could totally start that now! I thought it was like really advanced tricky running or something that I would probably never be able to do. I didn't realize it was a program to help you start running! How cool! So now I am planning on starting that soon. See what you all have motivated me to do!

I'm on my last week of C25K! Yay!
I cannot begin to tell you how unmotivated I was this morning. During my warm-up walk and until about 2 min into my run I DID NOT feel like running, couldn't decide on a route to take and was very BLAH. But I kept going and about the 3rd minute I was like, "I'm fine. I can do this. Just do it." (Sorry Nike, I stole your line.) I started thinking of how I feel when I'm done running, about the race I plan to do next week, and other good things. I got through it and was glad I just did it despite how I felt. What a NSV!! Getting past feelings and doing the work!

Hi girls : ). Came in to update my schedule. I had a window of time where I felt better yesterday and got 60 min. of laps in so I was very happy. We are getting the effects of hurricane bill ofshore today but I did get in 10 min. before the thunder and lightening came. That will prob be it for today.

Just got home from out weekend away (for the football game) and wanted to catch up my minutes. I didn't do formal exercise Saturday, but let me tell ya...I got a workout alright! I was busy packing things all over the house, carrying boxes down stairs and moving furniture, to name a few things. Today I got my run in, so one more day left of C25K, and I am so thrilled with it! Today's run felt as natural as breathing...just nice, easy and awesome! I am running about a 9 minute mile which is probably the fastest I've run a mile since high school. I just realized, too, that I have not once gotten shin splints during this program which was almost always a problem whenever I've tried to run consistantly before. That, to me, is incredible. Just thought I'd share. You ladies have a great night!

Yeah, Sandye I'm super excited for tomorrow's run so I can say I've completed C25K and then I plan to run a 5K this weekend. I'm having a heck of a time registering for it. It's in a small town about 45 min. to an hour away from me and their online registration form won't work, I've e-mailed the contact person with no response, but I'm determined to do this one because I won't have another chance at one around here for over a month due to schedule conflicts. Okay enough of my sob story...just sharing. :)

I'm starting C5k program this week too so it'll be fun to be starting it with another newbie. :D So last week my husband and I went on a vacation and I accomplished absolutely NO exercise and ate like I was dying tomorrow. Needless to say I put on 2 lbs! so now I'm going to have to work extra hard this week to get all my minutes in before the 31st. But I'm always up for a challenge! :carrot:

Jessicado, I haven't started my days yet, but I really want to today. I think you did though--how'd it go? I always look at the beginner stuff and think "peeshaw, whatever...I can do that!" Then it kicks my butt and I realize what a marshmallow I am ha! :D So W1D1 should be interesting.

Today I got in 1 hour of booty ballet (a mix of modern dancing, ballet, and yoga). I got smart and did it while my little girl was sleeping. That's right, that's that college degree working. Soooo worth the money.

Hopefully I can get in that walk/jog--every calorie counts! Good luck ladies! :carrot:

My final day of C25K...It was raining, but I did it anyway! Yay! I am a runner now! So cool to see some of you ladies trying C25K out also. I know it's not for everyone, but I'm SO glad I did it! I am about 200 mintues short this month still. I know I still have more time but I am feeling really bummed because I don't think I am going to make it. And I even lowered my minutes this month!

We have family visiting this week, and getting up at 4:30 to exercise with them here just isn't working - first thing, my exercise bike is in their room. And falling asleep while visiting with them sucks, lol.

On a plus side, I got A LOT of house work done in the past few weeks - tons of cleaning, painting, and even re-arranged the garage and turned it into a little space with a couch, tv and carpet! lol

I am currently at 1010/1200 minutes.

I will post my daily workouts at the end of the month. :)

Hi girls, I just finished posting in the weight loss thread, I need to get my goals set here now, I know there is not much time left in August, but it will be a good start for September. So I had been doing long drawn out cardio sessions for the past year, to no real avail. I felt a little more tone, but nothing spectacular was happening. I have now read "The New Rules of lifting for women", and will be trying to stick to the plan laid out by the authors. basically a mix of weight lifting, and HIIT. So that is my goal until the end of August. It definately is a challenging program, and will hopefully get me seeing some REAL results!!!!

Started today with workout 1b, then walked 2 miles in the evening.

Okay...it wasn't that bad, but I did quit 10 sec early on the 7th running stretch. 10 seconds seems so small and insignificant now, but not when I was running, lol. I did all of the 8th segment all the way through though!

Big Sexy--I've done 2 days of the first week so far. I completely agree it looked so easy....until I ran it, lol. Of course, I got 40 more pounds to haul with me, so hopefully it will be easier for you! The funny thing is I ran 10 minutes straight last week, and it seemed easier than this program, but I think it is because I ran much slower when I did that, than I am now for the 60 sec stints. The guy says not to run so fast you are having trouble breathing....but did I listen? :^:
I am trying to decide now if I want to continue with the program next week to week 2, or if I am just going to stick with week 1 for awhile and repeat it until I am a little less heavy, lol.

Jessica~ yeah, with the C25K I've found that going a bit slower helps. I was doing faster running stints with HIIT and when I started the C25K I kept that pace up for the first week thinking it would be easier then the 15 30 second intervals I was running with HIIT...once I got to week 2, I changed my tune. :lol: I dropped my speed and decided to work on stamina and get the running for 30 mins thing under my belt and then I'll work on speeding things up. Slow and steady, that'll be me--I don't want to burn out. :D

Jessica i don't see any problem with repeating the weeks as you need to. The program even says you can if you want or need to. I haven't even gotten started. :( Lame excuse, but I'm having trouble finding the time to be able to go out and jog by myself. I'm with my baby all day (my husband leaves at 5 am so I couldn't do it before then) and by the time the evening comes and I've cooked supper, cleaned up, bathed and fed her, it's 9:00! I don't know how the mothers on this site do it! So, again, lame excuse, but I've got to organize the time to do it. I walk with her every morning, but I don't think I could push her jogging....it's all I can do to push myself around!

To everyone who's doing "HIIT"(I think that's the acronym)....what is that?

Anywho, congrats everybody who has met their goal this month!!! :carrot: And to those of us who haven't remember the month isn't over yet! :D

Sandye-I doubt my workouts will change much after C25K, since I'm training for a duathlon (bike and run event) in October and need to focus my cardio on those 2 areas for now. Once the duathlon is over, I will definitely be changing things up so it doesn't get boring.

It stands for High Intensity Interval Training :) It's basically where you workout out and at a moderate level and then increase your intensity for a given period of time. There are lots of workouts out there, but the one I did was the "Lose your belly fat fast" 8 week program that I found here: http://www.intervaltraining.net/index.html Scroll down and you'll see it. There's lots of great info on the site about HIIT and what it is. :) Btw, you don't just have to do HIIT while walking/jogging/running--it can be applied to cycling, eliptical, swimming...whatever.

I totally know what you mean about finding time to go running with a little one. I finally just pulled out the stroller and did it. I'm now thinking of investing in a jogging stroller, lol (never thought I would hear myself saying I was going to invest in something so I could run!). I have been going right after dusk since I don't want to run in the heat, and I'm not really ready to go running past everyone during the day.
Funny thing is, even though I had a hard time last night for Day 2...I kinda wanted to go for day 3 tonight! I had to hold myself back not go out and do it since you are supposed to wait a day inbetween, lmao. I am already looking forward to tomorrow night and dreading it all at the same time.

I just met my August goal with my walking when I was on a business trip this week! Yeah! I will be well over it because I have a big hike scheduled on Saturday too. I am pleased to be getting the minutes in and will keep working on consistency. Need to start thinking about September's plan.

Well only put in 30 minutes on the Wii today (1230/1000) and I gotta say it actually is giving me a workout. I didn't think it would when I first started using it. Not so much cardio (although the running place is good and the step if I put it up on a platform), but the strength training is actually making a difference. The plank challenge is my fave and with all the balancing I can really feel in my calfs the next day, and after doing the lunges yesterday my thighs burned sooooo bad today. So I did them again tonight, lol. My theory is if it hurts and I don't want to it, I must need to do it! Can't wait till the Wii Fit 2 comes out.

I'm home today. We are getting all that rain from hurricane danny. No swimming or walking today.......taking a rest day (I just did an edit to my minutes).

Ohhhhhhhh girls, our new weight loss thread is up :). Figuring on doing our ex. thread tomorrow night (so as to space it out a bit...primary focus is on met goals lists right now)...does this sound okay? Thanks again for pulling me back in when I had thoughts of detouring the month of july, lol. Jeesh, thank god! Luv ya gals :hug:

Whoo hoo to everybody who's meeting their goals! Yesterday I only got in 15 minutes of aerobics before my attention got diverted elsewhere :(, but today I've kicked butt if I do say so myself. I raked for an hour and 45 min., then mowed our hilly, overgrown yard with a push mower for another hour and 15 minutes. (I had my goal in mind to keep me going ha!) That's 180 total minutes of working pretty hard if I do say so myself. That doesn't get me to goal, but if I can do just 45 minutes tomorrow, I'll be there! So here's hoping :)

Mine wasn't, I don't remember my exercises, but well, I reached 440 mins out of 1000.

Not even half ! D: I'm quite sad. but there's no reason to get depressed with, am I right? :D

I felt bad when I came in and saw those sad faces! oh! You did so great, hold your head up high and be proud. DO you print out your shedules for your records? I havn't done it lately but I used to and it so much fun. You can print out your schedule at the end of the month and put it in a folder and that way see your minutes month after month, etc.

Girls.......honestly, I think you all deserve red. Many of you came so close and yet others stuck with it and exercised and that's a goal for all. Thinking of ways to revise the system a bit (I wanted to give a minutes and yay in red) but backtracked to several pages and it was too difficult to add the minutes, math, etc. Food for thought, we can talk about it some more in our new thread and see what to do.....or how to do it. Congrats again chicks :) see you in our new thread.
