Hi chicks! :) Here we are.....right around the corner from starting a new month! How the time has passed. It's been such a great journey with you all and a big ty to all of you girls for helping me through this summer. You are such a fantastic and supportive group
Congratulations to all of your in your successess....whether it be in lbs. and/or inches lost, eating healthier, exercising, and/or sticking with it and not giving up and/or getting right back to it..........overall progress! :).
I hope to see everyone from previous threads join in and also we always look forward to having new members so please feel free to join in, all are welcome! :).
Those of you who may not have been here in a while and may like to join in but are hesitant (sometimes it can be hard to come back after being gone a while) jump right back in! : ) Sometimes we get busy with things and life in general and we take off in summer a lot too...it's understandeable. We all start with a fresh clean slate for our new month.
You know the drill girls! Just state your goal, whether it be a loss in pounds, inches, size, or even an intangible feeling! THe sky is the limit! You need not state your weight if you feel uncomfortable......just your goal, even if that goal is to maintain or whatever the case may be. THough the thread is titled "weight loss" please bear in mind that the underlying overall goal is toward a healthier us and so your goal may not be revolved around weight loss, it may be maintenance or eating healthier...and/or kicking a soda habit or whatever the case may be.
Our primary purpose in this thread has always been to support one another despite goal variations, etc. etc. and it has been a great journey. I look forward to a new month with you all :)
We just state our goal and or goals for the month. We also have a sister exercise thread (august one not up yet) where we state our exercise goals (for those of us who wish to).
My goal for the month of August is to maintain my lowest last weight, drop a few extra lbs. and continue with my exercising.
OUr first day of the month starts this Saturday........hope to catch you all here then girls :) have a super day....hugs

Hi everyone, I am new to this site but LOVE the idea of posting my gaol. I weigh 217lbs as of today and my goal is to be below 210 by the end of August. I do not think this is unreasonable and I know that I can do it!! I am so thankful to have found this site for support.

WOO HOO!! August is almost here! Let's do this thing!!! :D
Oh how I love new months and the challenges that come along with them! Now how often can you say that?
Okay, well...I'll shoot for 5 lbs again. I've been averaging 10+, but ya know what, I think I'm going to maybe do some calorie cycling this month and who knows how that will go? I saw this site mentioned on a couple of the boards here: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm
I'll keep my same goals otherwise, so...
Lose 5 pounds (from whatever weight I am on 7/31)
Try more new recipes
Eat my fruits and veggies!
Try calorie cycling
Include more good fats in my diet
Okay, I guess that's it. I'm still working on my exercise goals...I need help there! I'm still not sure what on earth I'm going to do!
sstolte & jeweliek ~ :welcome: I say this every month and every month I mean it more and more--these are the BEST bunch of girls around! You're going to love this group!! Make yourself and home and I look forward to getting to know you!
Okay, that does it for me! My nutrition goals are set in stone! Now to work on figuring out my exercise goals for the month...what to do, what to do??

Wow August already. Oofda (and yes I'm Minnesotan!)
My goal - synchronicity (if that is a word). I've noticed that I can eat healthy. I can exercise. Unfortuneately I've not been able to do them simultaneously to get the weight loss I desire. So that's my goal :)

I have participated in the Monthly Exercise Goal thread but have avoided the weight loss thread because I was not in a losing frame of mind. However, I am ready now. My goal for August is 6 pounds. I am truly excited to make this goal.

dcapulet & Terapet ~ Well the great thing about making a goal is it doesn't have to be a certain number of pounds. A lot of the girls will put a range. Like lose 3 to 7lbs. You don't have to be exact, or it can just be a maintenance goal. You choose. We will be right here to support you through it.
inthemidst ~ :welcome: to the August Challenge. Those look like some great goals. :)
UniquelyNormal ~ First of all, I love your username. ;) Second of all, I like your goal as well and know with commitment, you CAN do it.

Yay! a new month. I truly need it given the way July went
Thanks FSA for getting us going once more.
:welcome: to all the new people. Hope to see you around here lots.
MissPiggy: If you don't have your settings to automatically subscribe to a thread when you post, you can just go to the right hand corner of the page under "Thread Tools" and from the drop down menu pick "Subscribe to this Thread".
Since July was so chaotic and September will probably be too I need to make sure August goes really well. So my goals are:
-Eat OP 6 days a week.
-Journal food intake.
-Keep track of water intake (to make sure I am drinking enough).
-Stay accountable on weekends.

Sandye(crazymamaof4), canadian angel, TERAPET, Delphi, nellonello, Newshinyme, and Late to the game.........welcome back girls :) gtsy all.
Delphi....regarding the lists...I feel that it's a good idea to keep things as they were for Jacqui upon her return and continue with the same consistency for now...separating the exercise goals and listing t hem in the exercise section and all other goals here...as we have been doing. THing is girl...we need to get the exercise thread up real soon...hoping Jacqui would pop in. I will start on our list here and then we can put up our ex. list and start over there...yes? : )
Girls....Jacqui_D has been keeping master lists for us and also puts a GOAL MET in red for those of us who accomplish our goal/s. We have so grown to love this and it has been an extra motivator for us. Unfortunately, our Jacqui has been having pc trouble and unable to come online. We hope to see her here real soon . To get an idea of the master list...you can take a look at our july challenge thread to see what it's all about.
We will be putting up our sister thread which will be titled August Exercise Thread (where will be posting your exercise goals) so keep an eye out for it and those of you who wish, feel free to join in. It has helped many of us to stay motivated, I cannot say enough about it.
I better get to bed................looking forward to getting to know everyone. Night girls :)

:welcome: to all the new ladies! Post often and join in the madness so we all get to know you.
It's taken me forever to decide this month, with two weeks on vacation, what's reasonable while still ambitious, doable without stressing me out...it's stressing me out!! So I decided on losing 8lbs to hit 178lbs instead of 10 like usual to give myself some room since I can't exercise 3x a day while at my in laws, that would be anti-social :)
Delphi - I love your goal this month, I've been doing that too, trying to maintain 7000cal exercise deficit each week but I love the idea of making it official cuz when I don't do it, I'm not that concerned about it, but if it were a goal...maybe next month I'll copy you since I won't know my exact calories for two weeks. Always so smart you are.

Tummy ~ You know, I love the accountability we have with our threads. I know I can do it, I just have to work for it. I plan on posting my deficit every day with my first morning post as well or at night when I record it. We shall see, but knowing I have to do that will ensure I will make it.
:welcome: to all you new gals. I look forward to getting to know you ladies and being as uber supportive as my cheerful self can be. Good to see so many new faces.
FSA ~ Thanks for keeping up with everything. I know the transition between months gets hectic, so just wanted to say thanks...you're a peach.

FullSteamAhead - Thanks for comiserating! :D
Delphi Thanks for the warm welcome!
I did my first shopping for food stuff last night - eating out is so challenging and I'm not great with temptation :tape:
:exercise: I am thinking about joining a gym - where I live it's over 100 degrees daily and doesn't cool off much at night. If I do join you'll see me in the exercise challenge as well. Some of your goals are really impressive! I'm actually in horrible shape so I'll keep mine low until I get back into the game.
:write: I make a promise to you all that I won't eat anything fattening for the rest of the day. I know it's not August yet, but I'm ready! I know if I promise here then I won't do it!
Thanks to all who post - this forum gives me something to do when I would otherwise be thinking about eating

I've got a few goals for various parts of the month:
No longer morbidly obese by Aug 7th
Reach 10% target by Aug 13
No Candy through August 21 (I started July 21)
And, hmm, lets say down to 255 by Aug 31

Hi everyone...just wanted to say that I will be joining you all and I'm actually coming back from being MIA for a few months... I don't even remember where i was at when i stopped but i was around the 150 mark... so my goals for august are to pick up my exercise routine that i havent done in a while either and to get my eating in order.. I'm also trying to cook at home more now...
let's see whats been going on with me... things havent been working out with the hubby...he moved out about a month and a half ago and i filed for divorce...but you know what i lost a lot of the stress in my life and realized that he was holding me back from everything... but more importantly i realzied that i didnt need him in my life because he didnt love me in the first place.. at least it only took me nearly three years of marriage to realize that and not any longer... i got a better paying job and am supporting my son who is just shy of a year and a half and i love him dearly and lets see what else is new... i signed up for a gym membership but the place isn't done being built yet so it should be a few weeks until it opens... so its time for me to kick it up a notch and get healthier.. and release all my tension and anxiety that way..

FSA - Please adjust me to lose 8lbs to hit 177lbs, my body just had one more July pound to get out of it's system today. Thanks.
NSM - I feel the same way, like do ppl really weight in the 140's or the 130's even? It's like big foot. I have a feeling someone is going be seeing those 160's soon enough too.
UrthWurm - So glad to have you, it's such a wonderful thread for accountibility when we post regularly b/c these ladies are supportive but also tell it to ya straight, it's invaluable.
bbee - I would definitely say hit that exercise thread, it's all about moving it for sure and it's a great place to get ideas for how to torture, *ahem* I mean improve ourselves :)
Delphi - I totally agree, the shame I would feel if I have to come here and confess to food transgressions, it would be horrible. It's amazing what we've all accomplished here just by putting some kind of quantifiable goal to it. This is one powerful group of females!
MountainChick - I say join that gym, or workout at home with DVD's whatever it takes but get that body moving especially with 20lbs to lose, from what I've read it's all exercise at that point but I won't know, yet ;) Welcome aboard! And watch out for NSM, she's not kidding!
Aclai - Awesome goals, morbidly is a horrible word that definitely has no business describing your weight and good riddance to it!
Princess - Welcome back! That is what I would call a happy sad story but it's all about finding our way in the world and what is best. What an adorable little guy too! Congrats on staying within 5lbs and during some obviously stressful times, that's commendable!
iamren - Welcome back!
Tomorrow's the day, gotta love a fresh start, let's bring our A game ladies.

Hi wanting2b.............thanks :) Things have been going well in the sense that I have made a lot of positive changes and progress this new year, though I swayed this past recent summer month but have stayed in the loop and I am excited for us all to be starting another month together. I cannot tell you how super this experience has been and I look forward to continuing our journey together and meeting those of you just joining in. If you have any questions...please don't hesitate to ask...I'm sure one of the girls can help you out. THey are awesome!
I typically have a tough time losing weight in summer ( I always have) but these chicks have gone right through summer...through vaca's and just all sorts of things! I absolutely love walking too but not (with the exception of the beach or by water) when it's hot or muggy.......again....many of the ladies are from the central and west coast and continued full force with their exercise programs! I have no excuse! lol ;) It is really is so cool , it's a beautiful, supportive, and inspiring team and we are all here to help and encourage each other to keep going and to do our best......: ).
Posting really helps a lot (whether good or bad days and particularly on bad days) so it's something we always strive for. Did we mention that we are a chatty group? :blah::blah::blah: lol ;)

My weight was up just a touch today which I can only figure came from all the exercising yesterday because I was within my calories. I hope its back down tomorrow but I ended up eating out chinese today with my mother-in-law but I was very careful and feel like I did pretty good.
We had fun shopping at a couple consignment shops that were having their season end clearance sales. I can't wait until I can wear size Medium tops comfortably again, they have so many cute tops.

Overall I do eat an extremely healthy diet and my only result is I don't GAIN which is frustrating. :tantrum: Which is why, much like FSA I too find summer weight loss challenging but if you all can do it then so can I!

Ooooh ladies! It's the Eve of a New Month! So many new faces! I look forward to getting to know everyone! Like FSA said, this is an amazing group of women and I'm telling you--there's no other girls like 'em anywhere! I've been with the group since May and I've seen these girls do amazing things!!
Post as often as you want--the more the better, especially if that sort of thing helps you to stay motivated! Share all your victories--on of off the scale! :) If you can't post daily, don't fret--but do beware! We are an insanely chatty bunch of girls and you can get lost fast! ;) No worries though, you're always welcome no matter which part of the conversation you come in on! :)
You'll find that there's a few of us (*ahem, myself included*) that are multiple posters--that is we will chime in 3, 4, 5...10 times a day. Some do personals and ramble on (that'd be me too ;)) others just pop in to say hi and bye--wherever you fall in those categories is perfect! So don't worry if you can't keep up, never post personals or feel out of the loop, just jump right back in and have fun!
I'm psyched up for a fanfreakin'tastic new month and I want to thank all of the wonderful girls here in the challenge for making the past few months so much fun, so productive, inspiring, funny, silly and wonderful. Thank you for all the kind words, all the encouragement, all the laughs and all the :cheer: and congrats! Lastly, thanks for giving me an outlet for my PMS! It wonderful to be able to dole out :rollpin::coach::kickbutt and be a :drill: when the need presents itself. ;) Oh, and thanks for all the :rollpin::coach::kickbutt: and :drill: that you've given me when I needed them most! W2b140 - Woohoo on 3.5, that's an awesome week and it sure helps leading into a weekend to know how good it feels to pull some big numbers.
Shrinking girl - :welcome: look forward to getting to know you!
FSA - I'm just super proud of you, thought I'd throw that out there.
Ruth - Medium does seem to be an unpopular size, I always see tons of them too, awww, here's to more choice in fashion and not just what hides the fat rolls
MountainChick - that's one thing I sooo don't want to be right about. It's so much easier to pull down calories and workout and get a deficit two times over. Oh well, I'm looking forward to the opportunity to give it go though. Ok we'll be watching, now just watch if you even try and stray from your commitment you'll think OMG I posted it now I have too, they'll know!
CMo4 - Multipe posters, who's those crazy ladies, don't know any of those, nope, none here. Thanks for the mush, it makes me feel all warm and squishy inside and it's all true. It's amazing what a group of opinonated, fabulous, intelligent, stubborn, loud, competitive, determined, funny (no, hilarious) woman can do!
AJ - I don't think I've said hi and welcome to the challenge, so
As for little old me, I did finally get that run in today and although it wasn't super hot, it was sure hot enough, it was a big hot mess really. And I realized why one doesn't run down a dirt road at 1 in the afternoon, it's not heat or dust or the fact that all your neighbours can watch your butt giggle down the road, it's BUGS! I'm sure everyone's seen Star Wars where they go into warp speed or light speed or hyperdrive or whatever (Delphi?!?) where all the stars are wizzing at them, well just imagine that being bugs and instead of them wizzing by you they hit you and they are grasshoppers and black flies and horse flys, ugh. It was an intensly gross experience trying to run while grasshoppers were bouncing off my arms and getting caught in my frickin' hair, but it's done, I didn't stop even though jumping around like an idiot made it difficult to keep step properly.
I shall remember this next time I don't want to get up at 6am and run like I should have this morning, this was penance, hoards of locusts! And even though I was tired from almost no sleep, Sandye got up after a crappy sleep and ran and next time so shall I.
Night ladies!

Hi and welcome to all of you new girls! I am Crazymamaofour's mom, and let me tell ya, she is quite the chatterbox! Has been since she learned how to talk. She used to chat up the produce guy at Albertson's - which was fine with me since I had a little crush on him!:dizzy:- as a toddler. Sorry, Sandye, but you know its true!
TUMMY ~ I'm sure your ILs won't mind if you go for a run everyday. It will give them more time with your DD after all! Eek on the bugs! :eek:Gross! Although the visual is funny I'll guess you'll be getting up early from now on!
Here's to a successful August. Let's get a head start on the dreaded holiday season. :turkey: Just think, if we lose it now, we can indulge in pumpkin pie IN November!:yay:

Good Morning Ladies
I had this long drawn out, first of the month challenge speech all prepared and wouldn't you know it, the dog ate my notes. ;) Ok, so I don't have a dog, but Sandye pretty much covered everything I was going to say, therefore, I will spare you guys my long winded, mush fest and just say, that I am so glad July is over and that August is here. You gals are my rock...erm..rocks. ;)
So, I get up expecting that two pound swoosh I ALWAYS see at the beginning of our monthly challenges, alas, I woke up to TOM instead. Well isn't that just peachy..eh? Dude, it hasn't even been a whole cycle and I'm starting already? Sheesh, sometimes, I wish I had a time machine. I'd find Eve and slap her silly..all this monthly crap over a freakin' apple...are you kidding me? So yeah, my big news is TOM and I'm still stalled...so hopefully I'll see some movement soon.
So here we are with a fresh, clean slate. Rome wasn't built in a day ladies. Patience, determination and your commitment will pull you through this month. This is no easy task, but one that isn't impossible either. You will see daily fluctuations of your weight. Some days, you might even see a gain. However, you must NOT let the scale dictate the outcome of your days. Do not let that number on the scale rob you of your will or your commitment. Do not waiver in times of adversity and despair. Keep your heads up, with your goals in hand and show your body who's the boss.
Ok, I guess I need to get busy this morning. I'll check in later and do some personals. Good luck to you ladies and remember to smile.

Instead face them face to face, and run them over!
We are strong, we can do anything, and when the times get tough, rember to come back her, cause this is where you will find your life line.
There will be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions, but with each step we take, we will grow stronger and stronger, we are motivated, we are determined and we will KICK butt! xox

Ooooh, the good vibes are flowin' already!! I love it!
Now normally I would address everyone and do personals, but I got a late start this morning and after a wonky workout I showered and am just now sitting down to eat. I need to head out and get my Drivers License fixed and then head over to the shoe store and try on some more shoes! :carrot: Wish me luck--I'd really like to buy some new running shoes!!! :)
Lastly, I'm still sittin' at 150.2...sigh...oh well, I'll start losing again soon enough. It's almost comical to me now, that .2 lbs just mocking me...well, I'm laughing in it's face instead! HAHAHA you evil .2 lbs! Don't get to comfy because I'm kickin' you to the curb!! Just you wait and see!!
Okay, I'll be back for personals later! Ooh, and get ready for my monthly lecture: Measurements, Why You Need to Take Yours (Even if You Really, Really Don't Want To). :D

Ok, weighed in this morning just for the challenge... 223.5
I hate the scale. I'm much more interested in my body fat percentage though I have to wait for my Aug 16th official weigh-in for that. This weight shows me being down 1 lb from July 14th though I kind of expected a small loss for 2 reasons: I had oral surgery and shoved my face full of ice cream for a week and it's TOM and due to medical reasons I only get it 2-3 times a year and it comes on with a vengeance (sorry if that's TIMI!) so hopefully once it passes I'll see some sort of water weight loss. yeah... that's it... it's all WATER weight!
In the meantime, maybe it'll motivate me to start that C25K.
Oh, right... that makes my goal weight for the end of Aug 217.5.

Whoo! It's finally August! I weighed myself this morning and my official August weigh in is 195.5. So to get under 190 I'll need to lose 6 lbs. That is totally doable. But what's even better is that I did measurements this morning and I'm down at least an inch all over!! So exciting.
So, crazymamaof4, you are absolutely right! Measure yourselves and when the scale isn't being nice, you are sure to see a difference in your measurements.
So, here's to a wonderful and successful August!

It is August 1st and I am signing up for the monthly challenge. I start a new job on Tuesday. It will be a totally different environment. I will be going from self-employment as a Realtor to a 9-5 government job. Normally I am on the go, driving around, grabbing food where I can, going for coffee (and donuts). I am hoping that this change will be good for my health as well.
Today I weight in at 235 lbs.
Goals for this month:
1. Lose 11 lbs
2. Take my lunch to work - no more fast food
3. Get to the gym 3 days/wk
4. at least 1/2 hours of exercise everyday
5. never be rushed in the morning (guaranteed I will forget my lunch)
Wish me luck.

Good morning and Happy August! I posted the personals in the July thread, but it was already August for a lot of you, so I cut and pasted below. I lost all of my smilies, though. Don't have time to fix that as I am off to the gym for the dreaded cardio. I'm down .6 this morning. Should I take that as a loss for August or July? Kinda like it to be August but that feels like cheating! What do you think? Have a great Saturday!
Hi girlies.
TUMMY ~ No, there was no tomato trauma in Sandye's childhood! I was a very picky eater as a child and did not force my kids to eat anything, although I probably should have! I KNOW your 2 fewer inches and 5 more lbs look much hotter on you than on me. There's something about weight distibution when you age that is not pretty! Better you nip that in the bud Congrats on entering overweight-ville!
MSP ~ Glad that cheesecake was everything you wanted to be!
SUSIE ~ Come on girl, pick yourself up. Tomorrow is a new day and a new month. Let's go!
FSA ~ Music is the only thing that gets me through my boring cario. It helps with my ST too.
DELPHI ~ I sure would notice if your hair was cut to your bra strap! It seems like it was much longer than that and four inches would not take it that short. I wish I could get away with the long, straight, parted in the middle hair. That was my do for decades, child of the 60s that I am, but when I see women my age with hair like that, I cringe.
NELLO ~ Woo hoo on the five lbs! Is it any cooler there?
LOOKING ~ Take it easy on yourself. You need to heal. You'll be back in the game soon.
JACQUEE ~ LOL on the alcohol. I would find it difficult to give up my wine. Although with my glucose issues, I may have to. I have not had much lately.
ANGEL ~ You have been through much stress yet your weight is at its lowest! You are amazing! I hope next month is better for you and your DD.
SANDYE ~ Yes, I am so proud of you for your progress in tomatoville I'm telling ya, have a home grown fresh one, and you will be hooked. Better yet, have a home grown fresh one with fresh mozarella, fresh basil, drizzed with a little balsamic and olive oil, mmmmm. Taste bud heaven! So which chicken recipe did you try? Was it from the new Cooking Light cookbook? LOL on the "doable" coment. Although after ten years, even if I get back down to 145, when I was deemed "doable" ( I love that man!), the gods have not been kind to the face ala wrinkles and bags under the eyes! I am so glad the boys loved the Legos. I'll send another few hundred pieces soon. And no, I won't beat you, OR make you eat your veggies! That's on you now!
Well, this is it. My first month with you awesome ladies. Thank you so much for welcoming me and for all of the encouraging words. I feel so lucky that all of you young chickies accept this old broad! I checked the over 50 forums, and though they seem nice, they don't post much! No rolling pins there, and I kinda need that Yikes! I hate when older people try to act young, and I don't want to be perceived that way. But it is just so much fun hanging out with you girls! On one hand, I am grateful that I have lived and learned so much, and I really do not want to be 20 or 30 again. One of the great things about aging is the wisdom we acquire, and another is that we realize that no one really cares how we look! In fact, we become invisible, which at first is alarming, but not so bad when you get used to it! Anyway, thanks for everything. See you next month! Oh! I almost forgot! I got my hair cut today, and I hate it! Oh well, no one looks at old ladies anyway! __________________

Jewel ~ That sounds great. Love your enthusiasm.
LTTG ~ From my understanding you can. Today is the first day, any loss definitely counts. Take it and run with it you sexy wonderful woman you. ;)
lorie ~ :welcome: to the August challenge. Good to have you.
ladyfrye ~ Those sound like some great goals. ;)
Darby ~ :congrat: on those inches. A great accomplishment indeed. :bravo:
Shrinking ~ Yeah, Sandye and I are starting C25K Monday, you are more than welcome to do it along side us if ya want.
FSA ~ Yeppers, that is how I am looking at it. I'd rather get it over with now. YOu have yourself a groovy day.
Well the day is off to a slow start for me. Saturdays are such lazy days, and I wont be able to run my errands until six this evening. So it looks like it will be another long day. But I'll make it, even with TOM giving me **** today. I hope you ladies are off to a great start this morning.

My starting weight for today is 176.8. I was hoping for less, but I guess that chinese food did me in. It never fails, no matter how little I eat of it, chinese food always makes me gain, ugh. I guess its all the sodium, I'm always extremely thirsty after I eat it. My husband can eat it (and lots of it) and lose the next day.
Well today I am going to do well no matter what. I'm coming off TOM and the next two weeks are usually the easiest the lose weight so I want to make the best of it.
So I am planning on being 173.8 - 171.8 at the end of this month. I know my goal is modest compared to some of you ladies but I have to lose weight slow or I risk getting ill. I've dealt with issues for the last couple of years which is why I gained weight in the first place, low blood sugar and other stuff. But I'm so thankful that I have been feeling great the last few months. I envy you ladies that can lose 10lbs in a month, the only time I've done that is when I've been sick. Usually I average 4-6 pounds a month when I am sticking to it. I can sometimes lose 6lbs in two weeks but then I usually don't lose anything the next couple weeks after that.
I'm trying to stay between 1600 and 1800 calories a day. I drink at least 64oz water a day.
I have to really stay focused because my kids start school toward the end of the month (we homeschool) and I will be very busy planning etc. and its easy to let healthy habits go when I'm so busy.

My starting weight today is 149.6!!! OK, that seems low, so I'm not really trusting it til I've been under 150 for a few solid days. but I'll take the inspiration! I have some fun times scheduled ahead, so I've got to plan really well to avoid slipping this week.
Let's go, girls!!

Good morning August!
LTTG - That is the craziest looking turkey I have ever seen, is he on speed? LOL It's true the IL's are dying to see dd, they haven't seen her since February and even then it wasn't for terribly long. I could probably go hiking in the woods for days and they won't even care, well now i guess I have to redo my goal, lol.
Sunny Gee - Welcome! Wow, 40lbs, that's a huge milestone, congrats in advance.
Chunksoflove - your username makes me happy and best way to start the month, easy, even if it's only the first 2hrs, they all count!
Jacque - ok, so I looked at your bikini pics again and I just can't see anything I would label as "fat," belly or otherwise, wow you're looking good! But I totally understand we all have our things we want to fix, loving the goals btw, I was wondering what you were gonna do now that the weights mostly finished.
Merose - It seems like yesterday when you hit 186 and now 181! Holy girl, you're melting!
Susie - I was thinking last night, is it possible to throw out the undesirable food you have around? It might help to not make it suck a struggle if it's not there. Just a thought I had last night before bed, lol, trying to figure this out is keeping me up!!!
Delphi - Thanks hun, it's being downloaded as we speak! You're wicked, can't wait. I had a feeling TOM was heading your way, he left here a few days ago and said he was heading to TN, then off to Indiana to see Sandye. Can you slash his tires maybe?
Ang - LOL, run them over!! That's fantastic. Amen sister!
Cmo4 - Can you also add to your lecture why taking progress pictures are so important? That would be great. Good luck on the shoes, nothing better than a good pair, especially with all your running you're doing now, cuz you're a runner now, sounds awesome doesn't it. You can awe ppl at parties now just throwing that out there.
Shrinking - Delphi and Cmo4 are starting C25K on Monday so you'll have some good support there if you want to give it a go. And no worries we like TMI, it's what we're all about, I had one like that a few months ago when I thought I was gonna pass out for a week, they are brutal. But it's a good way to flush out like 5 lbs though.
Darby - Congrats on the inches, it's so true, whatever way we can find extra motivation, be in clothes that fit, measurements, every bit helps!
MsP- Congrats on last month my the way, I think your vacation workout was the most awe inspiring thing, those 140's will be yours so soon, you're gonna have tell us what it looks like down there, never see 140 country, I bet it's beautiful this time of year.
Ladyfyre - The new job should definitely help with setting a routine for sure. That structure should really help if you use it to your advantage, good luck!
loriehohlf - Wow, 79lbs, that's incredible! Glad to have you aboard.
Jeweliek - Are you doing the C25K too or are you already a running machine?
Heather - Welcome back again, this month for sure! You'll probably have some pounds just in junk release from the trip.
Ruth - Boys sure have a way of dropping weight after eating things, like cake and chinese, it's crazy. There are losers of every speed here too so you'll have some good company, I remeber Late to the Game lamenting just that very thing a few weeks ago.
Pucedaisy - Update that ticker hun, you're 2.5lbs under, take credit! You've earned it. And I love Michael Pollan, Omnivore's Dilemma is on my bookshelf, it's just got a few in front of it first.
It's gonna be a scorcher today, 35 degrees in the shade and the trees aren't moving so that's not good. Not a day for a run outside. Gotta load up my new groovy 80's mix and go get my HIIT on, then must figure out what to do for workout #2, maybe some core circuit training, the possibilities are endless.
Wow, that was a long one! There Sandye beat that :p
Let's start the month off on the right foot so make sure you're eating right and go sweat on purpose and when you're done, go do it again!

It's not even mid morning and my husband is already trying to get me to eat bagels & cream cheese. He wants to go to the bagel shop down the street and get them! I told him :nono: Ack! He asked if he's has to eat the same bark that I'm eating. Lord, please give me the courage not to :frypan: He's normally a very sweet guy, but he loves food as much as I do and doesn't understand. I told him I was going to tell on him!

Oooh! I haven't participated in this thread yet, but I can use the extra support for sure.
I'd like to venture into the 150's! Only a few pounds away from the 160's.
I'd also like to get myself involved in some sort of exercise class. Step, cycling, Jazzercise, something! I need to spice up my routine.
I'm starting JM:30DS as well. GO ME! Haha.
You can dooooo it! :D

Tummy & Sandye if you like that mix, let me know. There are tons of others. One of those gamer geek buddies gave me the link to the entire audio index, soooooo there are plenty.
Oh and Tummy, I think you're right on the progress pictures. That should be a must in any ones plan. Pictures once a month. I think since I updated mine on the 22nd, that I'll just keep with that myself. Then again, sometimes I just feel the need to take pictures...I'm just all over the map like that...but I would appreciate a phone call, message or something next time TOM is headed this direction, I mean come on, talk about a unwanted house guest..eh?
KEmery ~ :welcome: aboard and good luck.
mountain ~ Yeah, just breathe deep and tell him no thanks. You're doing great. :)
daisy ~ Interesting on the definition...I had no clue, thanks for sharing
ruth ~ You sound completely focused and that is awesome. It will keep you moving in the right direction.

Ok Chickies...........Here we go!! :carrot:
I committed to a 10lb loss in August. I am starting at 190.5. WoooHooo!
I have two planned trips this month and I start back to school (at 49 ). So I figure if I am successful with this challenge, then I can do anything.
Tomorrow is the first of the planned "vacations". Leave at 4am for the airport, fly to Boston, arrive at 10:30. Hang out with the dd till 3:30. Deposit her at the boat and then head back to the airport. Leave Boston at 7:30. get home to the house at midnight. Whew.
This is my plan - because I cannot - will not - eat airport food. Protein shake in the morning and pack protein bars and bananas and some nuts. Healthy and filling lunch with dd in boston. Protein bar and fruit for dinner. Nuts on the way home if I need it. I am being every strict because I am abstaining from bread, sweets, crackers, cereal - so as to break my cravings.
Any advice - is certainly welcome.
Good luck Chicks, we can do this! :carrot:

Hi ladies I am back and even though I cannot exercise this month, I will do my hardest to stay OP and drink my water every day...

My goal weight for the end of the month will be 225...
Watch out September when I am cleared for exercise again.
Good luck to all of you on your journeys

Hooray for August!! These last couple of days have been so hot (thanks for asking LTG). Wednesday and Thursday were 109 and 105 which for Seattle is hot (no one has A/C). Well today it's only 90 which seems cool in comparison. So I did my first exercise in hopes of starting the day and month off right. I am determined to see Onderland before the end of the month. Good luck to all of you this month. I look forward to reading here about everyone's journey.

Hi ladies! I joined the August exercise challenge and would like to join the weight loss also. Everyone seems so supportive in this group. My starting weight today is 152 and I would like to be 145 before the end of August. Heading to Riudosa, New Mexico on the 27th of August and would actually like to meet this goal before then.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and your experiences.

Good evening girlies! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day/evening! How was every one's first day of the August Challenge? I hope fantastic!!! :carrot:
Well, I was busy all day--I didn't get a whole lot accomplished, but I was busy! ;)
Delphi~ my last name was misspelled on my drivers license--of course I didn't notice it right away so I had to go back in and get it fixed. On the upside, it means I had some alone time and I got another picture taken that makes me look like less of a convict. The first one was baaaad! :o I still haven't given the mix a listen, I meant to last night but ended up calling my Grandpa and then heading to bed uber early. :)
Mom~ Hmm...a chatterbox huh? Sheesh and I thought you loved me! And yeah, so I chatted with the produce guy--obviously he must have been a cutie if you were crushin' on him! Oooh, maybe I did have a tomato related trauma if you liked the produce guy...;) Congrats on the .6 down today!!! :carrot: That's awesome!!! Hey, don't dish too much about me, remember--I could do the same!!! :D HAHAHA!!! Oooh, guess what I did? I ate more tomatoes today! This time, on a pita pizza!!! Can you believe it? I put tomatoes on 2 things in 2 days!!! Oh man, I nearly peed my pants when I read your post! I had nearly forgotten...'Momma don't make me eat no veggies!!!!' Bwahaha!
Tummy~ :lol3: Oh the drama of your run was too funny! Plague of locusts!! Bwahaha! You poor thing! I can just totally see you batting them out of your hair and spitting them out as they pelted you in the face! Girl, I bow down to you, you are the Queen of Running! There's no way I could have done that! I would have high tailed it right back home and did laps in my living room! ;) Now, as for me being a 'Runner' well...not quite yet. I'm going to be--yes I am--but I'm not ready for the title just yet. ;) The salesman at the shoe store did give me a flier on a 5K that's on Oct. 3--that just happens to be about the same time I should be finishing the C25K! (and my oldest ds' b-day) Hmm...could it be a sign of some sort? ;) And you're absolutely right about the progress pics--however, I think YOU should be in charge of that lecture since you're so good about taking them! :D
Once again, :welcome: to all the Newbies!!! MsP, Nello, FSA, LTBH and all over the other girls from last month--so glad you're here again!!!! :)
Had a good day today and ate a super yummy dinner! I missed my afternoon snack so I kind of overate at dinner--but I'm still well within my calories for the day--just kind of stuffed!
I did end up buying new shoes! I love them and I can't wait to start running in them! :carrot: Not much else exciting happened today though...
Well then what else? Oh silly me, that's right! It's time for The Measurement Lecture!!!(I swear I'm going to write this up in some kind of document so I can just cut and paste every month!)
Measurements. If you haven't taken yours yet, you need to. You may not want to, you may not feel like it's necessary, but believe me--you'll thank yourself later if you do. There's going to come a time--it happens to all of us--when your scale will seem as if it's plotting against you. You'll step on after a fantastically OP week full of exercise, eating right and drinking all your water and the scale will betray you. You'll be the same exact weight--or worse yet--HEAVIER than you were before!!! Moments like this can cause a lot of frustration. You'll be mad as all get out and bewildered, 'but how? How could this be? I was sooooo good last week! And I worked sooo hard!! I should have lost something!!'. Well, ya know what, you're right. Absolutely right! But here's a little fact--scales can not tell you, 'Hey lady, you did lose something! You lost 2 lbs of fat! But, you also gained 3 lbs of muscle, so that's why you're up a lb this week--so don't freak out or kick me k?'
That's where measurements come in! :) Now see, if you were to take your measurements weekly you'd be able to have concrete evidence that there are changes going on in your body. There's nothing quite like the feeling of taking your measurements and seeing the tape get smaller and smaller around your waist, hips, bust...And then you tally up all the little fractions of inches and come up with a nice tidy number--'3.5"!!!! I've lost 3.5"!!!'.
Back in January I took my measurements...It made me so depressed! However, that was at a time when I wasn't dieting or exercising...just wallowing in self pity about how big I had become. By April I had lost 4 lbs and I asked a friend (who was making fantastic lifestyle changes) if she would help me to start on a better path. She agreed, but there was one catch...I had to take my measurements...weekly. Noooo! Anything but that! Ahh, but of course I did it, and at first I hated it. But after a few weeks I began to look forward to it! I got excited about it! And now, I can look back and see how much progress I've made.
So...I think you get the gist. ;) Get out there and take your measurements!!! I promise, they'll come in handy when you hit a roadblock on your journey and will help keep you motivated and on the right path. And as Tummy said--progress pics are a must as well!!! But I'm going to let her handle that lecture! :D
Hee hee, I think I beat you Tummy!!!
Okay, I'm outta here--I need to get the girlies ready for bed! Have a great night all!!! :)

Today went well! I got lots of exercise and I think we may have an offer on our house!! WOO HOO!!! It's been a LONG time in coming. I ate OP and drank my water...not quite enough yet, but I'm getting there. I gotta really buckle down to reach my goal this time. I'll need you girls to keep me on track when I say..."Oh, I'm gonna just get ice cream this week as a special treat." I fully expect the frying pans and rolling pins to come out! LOL

Dang it, I had a post after Delphi that got eaten!
Oh well, all this will be entirely not as clever as my missing post but here goes,
MountainChick - my dh wanted to get slurpees, also known as liquid sugar and was surprised why I wasn't interested, b/c on the sign it says they are fat free. Some boys do not get it.
KEmery - :welcome: Sounds like you're gonna be busy, glad to have you aboard.
Delphi - that mix was fantastic, finished it with my circuits this afternoon but that song, you know the one I mean with the word I can't type in here, that was hilarious, I had to stop what I was doing and just laugh. I love pictures if only b/c I think reality as gross as it is sometimes, is worth acknowledging. Ok, I'll stick to the 14th of the month and you can have the 22nd, so that means we need someone to do the beginning and the end and we'll have pics every week to keep us motivated. OMG I just realized you half way girlfriend! Woohoo on those panties:yay::woohoo:
Inthemidst - So that sounds like a tornado rather than a vacation, wow. But I'm all for plans too good for you.
Dcapulet - Oh wow you're doing the c25k too, there's a whole pile now, how great.
LTBH - Glad you're up for the challenge, it will likely be an awesome lesson in that even when we can't work out there is control and it is possible to maintain and even lose, where there's a will!
Nellonello - So glad it cooled off just in time to start working out. I have not doubt you'll get there this month, only 8.1lbs to go!
Khunter - Welcome aboard over here too, you're already crazy into your exercise goal I bet that one is well over by end of august. We do try to be supportive, that was very nice to say, you may have missed the post where Sandye threatened to beat someone, can't remember who that was tho...
CMo4 - We have a nation wide run for breast cancer up here on the first sunday in October and dh, dd and I have walked it every year for the last five years to honour my mil who passed away five years ago. It's kind of our moment every year to pause and remember a truly inspirational lady, who sadly our dd never got to meet. But alas, it's a 5K as well and depending on if dh is working or can get it off I think we just might run the darn thing this year. Dh is well fit as a fiddle so he's good to go and I think I might like the challenge of something like that to keep me going. And yesterday there was a minute where I thought, this is crazy there are bugs wings in my hair and I think something flew down my shirt, I'm not gonna do this, but then I thought, this is not going to end in an excuse, just like my life used to be one big excuse after another, not today! And ok fine I'll do the pictures :) And you did beat me, well I'm not finished yet!
MsP - Congrats! Congrats! Oh I hope it works out that would be such a relief, hasn't it been like a year?
So in relation to Sandye's insistance I speak for myself...I was thinking, maybe more ppl from here could take and post before and after pics so we could all share in each others successes even more. That's kind of aside from the fact that I really advocate doing this even if you're not going to post them. I don't know how many ppl I know that don't want to look at pictures of themselves at their heaviest, but you know, we did it, we ate it, we sat on it and I think we should look at it. It's gotta suck bad enough to not want to be that way ever, ever again. And trust me, whenever I look at those pictures where I looked more pregnant then when I was pregnant I'm good for at least a month. And how many ppl say when they hit goal, oh I wish I had pics from before, exactly. So take them, hide them, post them, whatever, but take them!
I just find that especially when I come to have a vested interest in others, like the ladies here, I care that much more to see the pictures, look at Jacque999, or Delphi it's remarkable what can be done with a lot of hard work and some great ppl to lean on from time to time.
Ok, so I'm gonna get out my ruler and see if I managed a post longer than Cmo4.
I kinda did something crazy today too, I ordered a bathing suit, many in fact but I wanted to try on lots, pic one and send the rest back given I live in the middle of nowhere. I have not worn a bathing suit in five years maybe, dh and I were puzzling over this and we couldn't remember. We remember the event but not when it was. And even then I wore shorts with it. I was probably 10lbs lighter than I am now but I was so ashamed, there in lies the difference in going up the scale and down the scale, the number may be the same but the direction makes all the difference. I just realized that there's swimming lessons, trips to the beach and so much stuff I've missed being ashamed of myself all these years, so nevermind, getting me a bathing suit! Gonna wear the dang thing to the grocery store too!
Ok, I think I really did it now, totally longer. Sweet.

tummy girl: i've flirted with it forever... and i always wanted to be a "runner". my whole attitude has changed since i moved from my very toxic hometown to just 25 minutes away... it seems like a new world. so while i am in the process on working on being the best me ever, i decided to get back to the c25k. Good evening everyone, I am so amazed at all the posts. So I joined when this new thread started....and now we're into page 8, I think, I jumped back on my weight watchers wagon again about 1 1/2 weeks ago, lost 3 pounds as of last friday, (friday is my weight in day). So doing great in that department. I have posted everyday, giving encouragement that kind of thing....I only drank 2 bottles of water....I'm 2 bottles short. I've got a sinus cold going on right now and really not craving food. I have to remind myself to eat so my body doesn't think I'm starving myself and it starts to hang on to my weight...And I am staying within my WW points.. So 3 out of 4 is not bad.....Tomorrow another day at work --emergency department -- so I'll try harder with the water.... and I also hope the cheesecake was yummy.....and about the measurements.....do we do that naked or in clothes....my body just isn't the same and things kinda hang in places. So well fitting clothes put things kinda back in place.... hugs to everyone

third..wich i know better but just did it because of stress...i came home from picking my son up at the police station..and went right into the freezer, got out the rollo icecream and didnt even get a bowl, just ate it out of the bucket..i sat beside my hubby and we both just ate it..i know better i dont even like it, but it was a reaction..and after i said to him"why did you let me do that, and he said, cause yoour stressed" and dont you think i will be stressed when the number on the scale goes up...why did i do that, i know better. I have more control then that, im very disappointed in myself..errr so now im going to go and rent a movie and go onto the elliptiacal for the leght of the movie to wear it off...and to release some of this stress, wich is what i should have done in the first place...
wow, i fell better now that i got that out...no more going crazy like that...i am going to get to my goal this month!!!!!!
see you all tommorow, as tommorow is a brand new day

Dcapulet - I too have always looked longingly at those crazy ppl who seem to effortlessly breeze by in their cute running outfits, thinking, wow, maybe I could do that. In my head, for whatever reason, I think I can run too, but it's crazy we actually can and then we are the ones ppl drive by and wish they could be like, granted I'm in no cute running outfits, yet ;) Interestingly enough, I too just moved away from my hometown in february, it's great what a change of pace can do for one's perspective!
ernurse - I do mine totally naked but I'm not sure. I figure the hangy bits will be smaller too, if they are still hangy. And yes we are incredibly chatty, it's a curse we all have :)
Ang - Ok so that happens to take the crappy day award, omg. And I think that even though you obviously feel like a floaty, bloated Rollo right now, you stopped, you didn't say to heck with today, i'll start tomorrow, and jump into the cookie bag too, you stopped. Everybody has days, or momemts when we make bad choices but what separates the "losers" from the quitters is recovery, and that my dear was an incredible recovery. :bravo:

Alright ladies, my calorie deficit for the day was 1,218.
Sandye great post on measurements and likewise to Tummy, on the pictures. I concur with any and all statements made therein. ;) Ang, sorry to hear you had such a crappy day, but sugar, (here comes the tough love) you can't do that to yourself. We have to teach ourselves to deal with these situations in a better way. But Tummy's right, just chalk it up as a bad day and start with better decisions in the morning.
Well no long post for me. I am so glad tomorrow is my day off. My body needs to rest. I've put it through the mill this week and I just need that day to not worry, and just relax. This I will do with Rock Band tomorrow. I's got me a guitar and I'm ready to play. Should be fun.
MsP good to see you back and that is great news on the house. Hope everything works out for you guys. Khunter, :welcome: and yes we are very supportive of each other in these threads. Glad to have you. Inthemidst, sounds like you are on track girly, keep it up.
A big hello to everyone else. I miss Jacqui. I hope she is well, anyone heard from her? And Le......and all the ladies we haven't heard from in awhile, we miss you and hope you're doing well.
Well today wasn't too bad calorie wise. I got my two workouts in and did some walking around at wally world and gamespot, who by the way wouldn't take my EA Active. Urggggggg...I can't even give this dang thing away. They said they couldn't take it without the band and strap thingy..so it's still here, out of sight though. ;) Well ladies, it is late for me and I am extremely tired, just wanted to catch up and post my deficit, for the accountibilty and all that good jazz. I hope you ladies have a great evening.

MsPerception I am very happy for you that you may be getting an offer on the house :carrot::carrot: regarding your goal this month and wanting us getting after you with rolling pins and frying pins (lol), I read you loud and clear and you got it chicky! Sandye...I laughed when I saw your rolling pin and frying pan,....just love reading all your posts.
Ty for sharing the measurements with us and the importance of doing that.
Delphi....I am glad you have tomorrow as a rest day and you enjoy it worry free! You play the guitar? Electric? Oh do tell, lol :) I have a fender but I can't play worth a darn. I always wanted to learn how (I used to say that a lot because I always liked the guitar) so one year hubby actually suprised me with a fender, lol ;). HOpe your having a good weekend delphi and wake up to a great day tomorrow. Hope the little ones are doing well............chat soon girl.
Regarding Jacqui...still waiting to see her pop in one of these days. To our girls from previous monthsssss.... we are still waiting here for you ;) lol. Hope you get your tails in here...miss you much.

Good Morning Ladies
ajowens ~ Happy Belated Birthday. I sure hope it was a great one.
FSA ~ No dear, the guitar is a peripheral for the Rock Band2 game. ;) It's pretty sweet though. I'm just excited about getting to learn how to play that one, but yeah, it would be sweet to actually take real lessons with a real guitar. Glad to hear all is well in your neck of the woods to.
Tummy ~ Bathing suit..eh? That's fanfreakintastic darling. I'm still so scared to. I told myself not until next summer. I'm so glad you are though. One piece or two piece? Pictures?
Sandye ~ Hey sweet stuff. Has TOM not come yet? His stooopid butt wont leave me alone. I should be over the worst part if I can just get through today though. That's interesting about your license though. Made me look at mine, which by the way expired on my birthday. Soooooooo thanks, now I gotta clear out an entire morning to go sit at the DMV. :woohoo:...erm..not! ;) I'm just waiting on that met goal post..every morning. Girly you have me checking the board all day just to see. I think I'll just start sending you an email everyday, saying, Are you there yet? Yeppers, that may work.
As for me, Darth Scale is still holding me at bay. What he doesn't sense is that my Jedi brethren are en route to my rescue. So we shall see how tomorrow goes. I'm expecting a big swoosh though. I should be down two pounds, so we shall see.
Oh and for any Netflix subscribers, you can now Instantly stream LOST...and all seasons. Which is just awesome. I told my buddy last night, that I probably won't do jack for like 48 hours trying to catch up on seasons.
I did take measurements again and looks like only a inch was lost on each measurement ( minus the arms Sandye ;) ), which is awesome, I'll take it. The problem is that I haven't been measuring my waist in the correct spot so I really don't know how many total inches I've lost. At any rate, I'm crampin' up sitting here typing what ever useless trivia that pops into my head. So I'll bid you ladies a great day and don't forget to smile today. Making other people smile, will reap it's rewards ladies. :) :) :)

Good Morning
Doing my daily check in before I go up to the barn.
I've got trouble with my sheep - I've lost my 2 best ewes to liver flukes in the past week :(
It's not just an economic loss - it's an emotional one too. They were semi-pets and very, very friendly.
So, to prevent any unnecessary emotional eating - soon as I get back from the barn I'm going to make sure that I have 2 days worth of OP meals planned, prepared and ready to go.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day :)

Good morning ladies!!!!
Tummy~ So sorry about your MIL, she sounds like she was an incredible woman! I think it would be soooo awesome if you ran that 5K!! Oooh, that would ROCK! Congrats on ordering bathing suits! I totally know what you mean about not doing things that required wearing a bathing suit--I did the same thing! Thanks for being the progress pic advocate! I figured since you have been so good about doing it, who better to lecture the newbies? :D I, on the other hand, have only taken one pic since I started this journey and so did not feel as 'qualified' to lecture. ;) I will be taking some today or tomorrow though--you've inspired me to do it!!! :D
dcapulet~ another C25K'er! Oooh, you're doing so well! I can't wait to be where you are now! I'm just starting out. :) Woo hoo! Congrats on a great loss girlie!!!!
ernurse~ I hope you're feeling better soon! Keep drinking that water hun!
Ang~ Aww hun, it sounds like you had a rough day yesterday! I can totally understand why you were so stressed! I am proud of you for recognizing that you weren't making the best choices and that you turned it around. Tummy took the words right out of my mouth! Today is a new day and I'm sure you'll make all the right choices hun. I hope you have a much better day and hang in there
Delphi~ sorry to hear Game Spot wouldn't take your AE Active--do you not have the band thingie? I swear, with all the fun games you have, I wanna go play at your house!!! :D Yeah, TOM showed up last night so we're still cycle twins! ;) He brought with him a freakin' pound though--Grrrr! Ah well, it'll come off...I told you the closer I got to my goal weight the further off it would be! I mean, how much closer could I have gotten? .2 lbs...sheesh! Now I'm 1.2 lbs away thanks to TOM--because I KNOW it's not my fault! I was POP yesterday thank you very much! But sure, email me daily if you want--I could always use some extra Delphi in my day! ;) Haha about your DL expiring! Mine did the same thing--back in January! :o I slacked big time on getting my license...I mean BIG TIME! I've been here for over 2 years now and have had my CA license this whole time...
ruth~ congrats on a great day! I hope your stomach ache went away and you woke up feeling fantastic!
FSA~ Haha! You know I love my :rollpin: I've always wanted to learn to play guitar too! I really have no excuse besides laziness...we've got a very nice guitar just sitting in hubby's closet. I got it for him for Christmas a few years ago because he wanted to learn how to play...needless to say, he still doesn't know how to.
ajowens~ :bday2you: A day late. :) I hope you had a wonderful day and congrats on staying within your goals!!!
Susie~ awww, sorry to hear about your ewes hun! Poor little things. I think you're doing the best possible thing planning out your meals for the next couple of days. Be sure to come here too if you need us k?
So, here we are--Day 2!!! What's everyone got planned? Not a whole lot here--hubby took the boys fishing super early today so I'm hoping that he brings home some fish for dinner tonight! We'll see though, at 8:30 they had only caught one fish and I don't know if it was a good size or not.
TOM showed up last night and although he's not causing me any trouble at all, he didn't show up empty handed. He was kind enough to bring along an extra pound! *note sarcasm* What a jerk! I swear, he must have known I was so close to my goal and did this just to mess me up! Well the joke's on him because I will not be deterred! Nope! I'm going to tell him to kiss it!!! ;)
So, official WI & Measurement day--up a pound and down 1.5"!! :carrot:
OMGosh~ Delphi!! I forgot to say congrats on the huge loss of inches!! An inch everywhere!!! Woo hoo on the panties chickie!!! :carrot:
*Yawn* well, that's about it for me. Like I said, not a whole lot going on, just a lazy morning (it's my day off of exercise) with me and the girls. :D
Have a fantastic day and be sure to...
Drink Your Water!!!

Morning!
Ruth - Hope you're feeling 100% today, nothing like trying to sleep with a crazy stomach.
Aj - Wow, if you can do birthday then this will all be child's play from here on out, give yourself a big kudos for that one.
Delphi - It's two pieces, but not like Jacque, this body didn't fare as well during child bearing I'm afraid. It's a halter tankini so the girls get some help, I can tie that knot around my neck something crazy if we need to hike em up. I ordered six tops so we'll see which on fits best. For the bottoms I ordered a skirt ones b/c my entire problem with bathing suits now will be my dimply butt and my weird c-section indentation/pounchy thing. How's that for TMI! But I'm hoping the skirt will do the trick, it's not terribly long and otherwise I like my legs in skirts so I hope it'll be good. We always go swimming so much when we're on the east coast. And lol on pics right after I'm all preachy about it, honestly, a bathing suit is just me naked painted a different colour!
Susie - That's horrible, I hope that's the end of it, my goodness. Great plan too, it'll be so much easier to not stress eat that way.
DCapulet - OMG, that's awesome, 4 more pounds in a month, great start!
CMo4 - Glad to hear it, pictures are great and since you have lost 45lbs and are almost at goal and, and, and you should post them!!! It's a lot of ppl's rest day today, lol, nobody rushing to get anything done, it's so nice for a change. I think if I ever meet a guy named TOM i'm just not gonna like him on principle now.
Mystical - :congrat: on goal and with moving and all that craziness, WTG!
BKKchick - welcome, another one almost at goal, awesome to see so many ppl hitting their ideals, glad to have you aboard.
MsP - Happy Anniversary!! Enjoy your day.
Gillyhicks - Welcome, and it's never too late to join!
These days off always throw me, I get all willy not being able to burn some energy. But I think I may have to start the lawn again but the sky is looking pretty ominous at the moment. It's a long weekend up in Canada, eh? so I will have to wait until tuesday for my new workout DVD's to come in, I'm sooooo excited. I have this whole area set up in my basement with the extra TV and dvd player so that I won't be bouncing around in the living room upstairs. It will be interesting to see what kind of cal burn I get from them.
Just wondering, has anyone lost a pound? It showed up at my house this morning and you know, it can go back! This one was kinda out of the blue, I normally don't gain mystery pounds w/o TOM but everything is as it should be so oddly enough, don't care, which in and of itself is kind of liberating.
To a great day ladies!

Good Morning ladiessssssssss....at this point I should just say good afternoon! lol :) Happy new day to us all.
Ajowens :bday2you::woo:. I hope you had a great day yesterday.
MsPerception, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. Have a wonderful time with hubby tonight :).

Susie.........sorry to hear about your sheep. Wtg on having your meals planned out, I think that's great. Onto a new day we go.
angel....wtg on the determination. Kick butt chickie :carrot::carrot::carrot:
dcapulet, congratulationssssss on the 5lb. drop.......that is excellent :carrot::carrot::carrot::cheer::cheer::congrat:
Sandye: glad that TOM isn't getting you...good for you kicking it's butt, go girl :carrot::carrot: IT worked out well having today as y our day off with tom and all. Enjoy the day with the kids : ) thanks , you have a fantasatic day too. I'm sure that lb. will be kicked out the back door in no time.
Mystical...congrats on the 9lb. loss last month :carrot::carrot: that is super. REgarding your goals...was last month your first month? We are all different but for some of us the weight loss slows after the first 2 months (but this varies of course). IT really is a personal decision and what works best for you. Sometimes setting a goal on the higher end (taking factors into consideration) can help give us that extra push we need to keep striving for it while it may overwhelm others...so it's really a matter of what works best for each of us at that point in time. Let me know what you decide and I will make the adjustments in the list. Either way,,,,,,,,, congrats on an awesome loss last month :carrot::carrot::carrot:.:congrat: Your doing great! :)
BKKchick and gillychicks :welcome:. congrats bkk, that is great. Girls, I will be adding you to the list when I update it.
A big hello to you all.
I have to run. Yesterday was a beautiful day weather wise here and I got in some swimming and dh and I parked away from that town and walked to the festival. We had a nice time but that sun sure felt hot walking. Later in the evening we walked to the fireworks and oh god ...it was so beautiful walking at night. The air felt great and there was a bit of refreshing air coming from the nearby river and ocean. Lot's of fun. I slept like a log last night. It felt wonderful being active. THe day went well planwise except for going over my cut off point late night (that's a no no). Ready for our new day chicks...let's all make it a good one! :) chat soon

Wow....just one day and there are so many posts. I wanted to do a long post to reply to everyone, but I'm just not that organized. I'm so sorry. I will keep up so that I can from now on.
TummyGirl: I ran last year started by using C25K and just stopped during the winter so I am having to build back up but love it so I am jogging 3 miles 3 days a week now. I am going to start with the C25K alternating between running and jogging so that I can up my speed now.
Mountain Chick: I feel for you. Congrats on your resolve to tell him no thanks.
Lookingtobehealthy: Great!! Good Luck
Khunter: Here's to your goal before Mexico
For me.....today I need to work. I also will be going for a walk and doing weight training.

FSA Last month was my first month and the last two weeks of this month I didn't lose any I think it was because I was just eating whaterver since we were in the middle of the month. I will put a goal of 6-8lbs for this month and would also like to make it a goal to drink more water.
I have a question for you ladies with words of wisdom. I have a 14 year old son that struggles with weight and he is wanting to get a plan going with me. Is there any suggestions that you might have as far as the exercising goes with him? He is 6' tall and weights over 200 any suggestions would greatly help. Thnks.

good evening all you wonderful chickies!
hope everyne had a great day, and everyone has been very positive about starting a new month..hugs all around!
i usually dont come on here at night, but i need to vent and face what i just did... first..hubby leaves in 8 days for about 14 months..and he hasnt gotten the honey to do list done yet..he starts one project but nevers finishes it unless i have a temper..why is it that he always procastanates...and never follows anything threw.eeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrr
second..my son just did the stupidest thing in the world..and i have to say i have never been this disappointed with him, as i am now.........
third..wich i know better but just did it because of stress...i came home from picking my son up at the police station..and went right into the freezer, got out the rollo icecream and didnt even get a bowl, just ate it out of the bucket..i sat beside my hubby and we both just ate it..i know better i dont even like it, but it was a reaction..and after i said to him"why did you let me do that, and he said, cause yoour stressed" and dont you think i will be stressed when the number on the scale goes up...why did i do that, i know better. I have more control then that, im very disappointed in myself..errr so now im going to go and rent a movie and go onto the elliptiacal for the leght of the movie to wear it off...and to release some of this stress, wich is what i should have done in the first place...
wow, i fell better now that i got that out...no more going crazy like that...i am going to get to my goal this month!!!!!!
see you all tommorow, as tommorow is a brand new day
Im sorry for your bad day, and i am also a stress eater. It sounds like you are doing the right thing and trading exercise for eating. GOOD JOB to you.

 girls!
Just dropping in to wish everyone good luck!
I moved into the new apartment yesterday but I don't know when I'll be able to get my internet turned on so I won't be in this month's challenge. I'll be back in September, definitely!
Peace loves! :grouphug:

How do I update my tickers without it going back and changing all of my previous posts or is that possible? I have been going in to edit signature and just recopying my updated info. I want my previous posts to stay the same and just my new posts to be affected.
Delphi

khunter ~ Not exactly sure what you are implying? Did you just get your signature? Where are your tickers from? If you just got your signature, than all your posts will have your sig, but none of your prior posts will...don't know why, but that's how it works here.
jasonslea ~ See ya in September girlfriend.
mystical ~ What types of things does he like to do? What is he interested in.
jewel ~ Yep, this thread moves fast, but usually it slows down during the weekends.
FSA ~ Sounds like a lovely night dear. I miss watching fireworks as I haven't got to do that in years.
Tummy ~ Yeah, that is exactly what I have. Skirt bottom and tankini top. But that's so not what I want to be into. I have to admit, I'm starting to get worried about extra skin. Four c-sections and all this extra weight I've been carrying around, can't mean good things as I take the rest of the weight off...eh? Good luck though, I hope you find something you really like, I know you must be quite excited..and you should be. You look grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!
gillyhicks ~ :welcome:
MsP ~ Happy Anniversary dear!
BKK ~ :congrat: on almost being at goal, that must be quite exciting.
Sandye ~ Sorry darling, but I'm kinda glad he came for you to..at least that puts us dealing with it together..eh? ;) Are you guys going back to school this week? We have registration in the morning and I have a whole bunch of stuff to do afterwards...gonna get hectic I think, at least the first few weeks until we all get readjusted to school schedules..eh? Anything really change for you guys? Anywho, you are doing fantastic, and who knows, maybe you will see a swoosh during TOM.
dcapulet ~ :woohoo: and :bravo: on that five pound loss. Wow..you are off to an amazing start. Keep it up darling.
As for me, I'm waiting on my oldest to come home and hopefully squeeze in a few episodes of LOST before we all get to bed. It's been a very relaxing day. I watched movies and played a little Rock Band and just really chilled out, which was nice and I'm sure my body is thanking me, especially after starting the whole running thing. So it was a good day. I will probably wake up early tomorrow, back to my regularly scheduled, insanely early posting again, and then again...I don't know. I have to leave so early in the morning, I'm not sure if I can get either of my workouts in. So dunno! We shall see. So until then, you ladies take it easy and enjoy your evenings.

I think what she means is when you update your ticker it changes it on all of your old posts too. I haven't been able to figure out a way around that. I guess if you want a record of what you weighed at each specific post you could just type in you Start/current/goal at the end of each one?

Yes, exactly, it shows my current goals/weight when I look back at my original posts. As long as I am doing it right(updating) then I'll just keep on doing it the same way.
Just curious.

Well, im having a hard time getting into the swing of things. Today wasnt the best eating. I ate all healthy foods in exception to lots and lots of nuts. Which I love to munch!
I havent excerised in a long time. That week away in fl. did me in. I played tennis yesterday with my husband and I did terrible (slower and unsteady serving). I couldnt believe 1 week of inactivity could throw my game off so much!!!! Oh well. I guess I can only practice and start hitting my gym regulary. I am going to go wednesday no matter what!!!! Heres to a month of hard excerise!!!!

Evening Ladies,
FSA - That sounds like a fantastic day! It's something, likely fluid, maybe swollen muscles who knows but it's nice that it isn't driving me batty like it used to, the knowledge finally has caught up with emotions on the scale, it's nice and far more relaxing.
Jeweliek - That sounds like a great plan, I'm working on my speed right now as well while doing the 5K 3x a week. At first I swear I was shuffling along but it sure helps to have less weight on.
Mystical - I was never much for group exercise when I was young and was very heavy then too, my mom tried organized sports but I was always soo embarassed to try and compete with slender kids my own age. At that age I liked to do things solo for the same reason, I loved biking and running then and actually managed to lose a good chunk of weight in height school. The Wii is great for kids too if he's into gaming at all. So I guess it would all depend on what he enjoys doing. It's great he's talking about it too, I don't think I breathed a word about it to anybody for years and it was so toxic keeping all that in. Kudos on such an open dialogue.
Jasonlea - See you in September! Don't forget to eat well and exercise while you're waiting to get hooked up again!
Delphi - Yup, extra skin is gonna be interesting, last time I weighed 220, then went down to 167 I didn't have any extra skin issues, I wasn't toned by any means either, heck I'm in better shape right now than then, buuuuttt with the baby in there and a number of extra fat years thrown in for good measure I'm kinda wondering if I'm going to end up a member of the kangaroo family as well. I think my main issue is going to be the stretchy marks though, the texture is all weird with them and that skin for sure doesn't return to it's glorious self ever again. The the funny part was that I got those from being fat, not a one from being pregnant. Oh well, I was never destined for a bikini and that's quite alright. Have fun at school reg. tomorrow, wow you guys start so early!
Heather - Ah the nuts, love 'em too, they're grand but a little sure does go along way! Enjoy the gym, I bet you're game will come back in no time!
What a delightful day, it did rain for most of the day so there was no mowing for me but it will be there tomorrow and the next day too. It wasn't as antsy a day as I thought, kept busy playing with the dd, cleaning, cooking, making a list of all the things we need to pick up in the city next week b/f the trip out east. All in all pretty nice to let the muscles rebuild a little, I could just hear every thing I ate getting stored up for tomorrow. Monday's workouts are always awesome!
Well for all you ladies starting C25K tomorrow, good luck and have fun!

Delphi He loves computer games, reading, and he loves his music. Has never been much on sports. I am thinking about maybe trying to get him a bike since we have lots of trails around our new house. That would be something he could do by himself or with the rest of the family. I know you have the EA Active for the Wii is it worth the money or should I get something else? I have the wii fit but wasn't sure if there is any others that would be good for him.
Tummy Girl I am going to let him help with the decisions on planning our meals and snacks since I do not fix my foods any differetly than the rest of the family. He loves to cook as well. If I can teach him to read labels and choose healthier snacks then maybe he won't have to go through what I have my entire life.
As for me. I would like to get into the running but I haven't been able to get past the oh my gosh I am going to die stage yet.... I would just like to be able to start my running but I am still just doing a fast pace walk or I feel like my lungs are on fire and I am going to pass out.... Hopefully one day soon I will be able to start training for some kind of long distance run... That would be a dream come true.... Maybe one day but not yet.... Have a great night ladies I will check in with you guys soon..... :D

Ok, I'm in. My goals are not weight loss related. I tend to run between only 0.5 & 1lb /week.
I have three:
1) Drink 2.5 liters water/day
2) Stay OP
3) No mindless snacking

good evening to all you wonderful women!
hmmm...im tired, but know if i go to bed now i will be up at 3am.eerrr
stayed on plan today, and went for a walk...about 8kms, but TOM is coming up..tummy is bloating already, cravings are hitting, and grummyness is setting in..sometime is just wish our monthly visits would stop, this is one visitor i prefer not to see, plus she makes me gain about 10lbs of water..then a week after shes gone..bye bye to the extra weight and some.
while out on my walk today i was thinking, for the first bit, the weight comes off faster, but then it slows down, and knowing myself, i can get discouraged at times, only happened once, but it can happen, so i thought of a idea..im going to go and buy the bags of 5 lb sugar, for ever 5 lbs i lose, and put them in a sealed tupperware container, and put it in my bedroom. And ever morning and whenever im having bad day and want to cheat, i will go and lift the container, and that alone should keep me going..and once i hit my goal of hopefully 160lbs by christmas, i will take all that sugar and donate it to the local food bank or shelter.
i know tommorows going to be a big craving day, so to prevent me going off the cliff...if have thought up what i think is crazy but will work...i am leaving my house at 6am, and going to walk to the next town, and then back home again..for a total of 35 kms...and im taking my 13 year old son with me. Im just hoping it dosnt rain.
hope everyone had a great day!!

Good evening girlies!!!
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!!! Mine has been pretty nice so far--I get one more day 'off'--that is, hubby does so I get some help with the kiddos ;) so I'm super happy about having him home one more day. :)
Mystical~ no worries hun! We know you're busy as all get out with the house and all. :) Bravo for getting back into the exercise routine! As for your monthly goal...hmm...I dunno. I dropped mine to 5 after a couple months in because I figured it was about time for the losses to slow down a bit--however, I've managed to lose 10+ every month. So, I say drop it to whatever you feel comfortable with, that is, a number that still challenges you, but that doesn't seem unobtainable, kwim? As for your son, have you asked him if he wants to join you in exercising? Perhaps he'd be interested in walking/jogging? I'm thinking back to my little brothers at 14 and weight lifting seems like it was something they both got into...I'd say ask if he wants to join you in walking at night (since I'm guessing early morning would be out due to school) and start from there.
BKKchick~ :welcome: and congrats on being so close to your goal!!! Good luck in August!! :)
MsP~ Happy Anniversary hun!! Oh I do hope you and hubby had a wonderful time!! :)
gilly~ :welcome: to you as well! It's never too late to join in the fun!! :) Jump right in!
Tummy~ I'm with ya on the childbearing aftermath! Two of my c/sections healed poorly (one of which opened up when the nurse took the staples out--you should have seen my hubby's face!!) so I gave up ever wearing a bikini long ago! ;) Tankinis rock though!! And I'm liking the description of the girls hoisting tie top!! I could totally use that! ;) Sorry to hear about the extra pound that's visiting--don't you have uninvited guests? I mean, TOM's bad enough--did he have to bring a buddy too? Stupid extra pound...grrr!
FSA~ oh your night sounds like it was awesome! Ahh, walking at night--I love it! So long as the mosquitoes aren't out and it's not June bug season! ;) Glad you two had a great time!
Jeweliek~ yes, this thread can get away from you quick! We'll hit 500 posts in no time too, just you watch! :) Hope you had a great day at work and got your walk and weight training in! :)
Shari~ Congrats on getting all moved in hun! We'll be here when you get back, don't worry! :) Take care and be good!!!
Delphi~ yeah, I'm glad he showed up too--I was having wonky cycles there for a couple of months so having him show up the day he's supposed to is actually nice, well...sort of. ;) School starts on the 11th for the boys--they'll have their class assignments posted this week and I'm hoping my oldest gets the teacher he wants--he's all bunched up over who he's going to get. So, give me the info about your weekly schedule--which days are you doing the C25K? I pretty much have a set schedule in that I do my ST'ing M,W,F and cardio (formerly HIIT) T,Th,Sat. So, I'll be doing the C25K on those days and adding a different cardio to my ST'ing days to amp up my burn! Hee hee, I said burn. ;) Hope you're having fun watching LOST--don't stay up too late, we need you here bright and early!!!
Heather~ sorry to hear you're having a rough time getting back into the swing of things, but it sounds like you're determined to pull out of it so good for you!!! Nuts, Mmmmm! I love them too but man I can get chomping if I don't watch it! At least it wasn't processed junk food though right? I mean, you got in some healthy fat! :)
rcrough~ :welcome: and good luck in August!!! :)
Ang~ oh what a neat idea! Can you just imagine how big of a container you're going to need for 160 lbs of sugar? Good luck lifting that! ;) But what a visual that'll be! Great way to stay motivated! Have fun on your long walk tomorrow! I hope the weather is beautiful for you and your son. :)
Well, not much to report here. I talked to my friend today and she announced that she's coming for a visit tomorrow! We've only seen each other once all Summer and it'll be nice to see her (she's the one who lives in OH).
Oh, I have a little NSV to share! :) Last night I turned in early and hubby was outside with the boys. Our neighbor and his wife recently got back from a month long trip and came over to thank us for watching their house, etc. So while they were chatting my neighbor asks hubby,
"Has Sandye been losing weight?"
Hubby~ "yes, she has."
Neighbor~ "I thought so! If I hadn't seen her getting your mail I wouldn't have recognized her!"
 Okay, so they were gone a month--but I'm thinking part of him noticing has to be my new haircut. ;) Nonetheless, it was nice to hear. :)
Well...I guess that's about all for me. Here's to a new day tomorrow complete with weights and a new cardio workout! Hmm...I wonder what I'll choose...30 Day Shred maybe? Hmm...I dunno, that Jillian is evil on my knees...hmm...
Night all!!!

Hi Girls!
My stomache was better this morning thankfully. I wish I knew what caused it to hurt so bad.
Today wasn't the best of days as far as eating. Sundays are always hard for us because we are usually gone all day because we go to church out of town and we either have to eat at my parents or eat out and I usually eat too much. Today we ate chinese, I did try to be very careful but I probably ate more calories than I should have.
The scale was down today almost a pound, .8 , so I was happy about that.
I hear ya on the C-section and stretch marks. My first child gave me lots of stretch marks on my legs and belly, on top of that I had to have the C-section. My second child I only got a few marks and had her normally.
Well I'm outta here, want to spend some time with DH before I'm too tired.

Hi ladies!
Oh man, I am just coming out of a food induced coma. Had the WORST weekend since I joined 3FC back in April.
I think it all began because I had a couple of drinks on Thursday night and as a result was feeling a bit cruddy on Friday (seriously, only two drinks - I remember now why I don't drink anymore) so I overate and then felt the same on sat and overate and the same again on sunday. Today had the potential to be the same, and it started out that way, but I think coming on here and talking about it has already curbed my mad eating.
So I'm NOT getting on the scales today...
have a lovely monday everyone! :)

Good Morning ladies.
Unfortunately, I wont have time for personals. Busy morning as my boys go in for registration today. Sandye so does that mean a t,t,s for the c25k? Or the other days? Let me know girly. My scale is not moving, just bouncing around 191 and 192 during TOM, but no sweat off my back. I feel lighter even with TOM around, so per usual my scale can kiss it. I just think it's amazing how it doesn't bother me either way these days. I guess, I'm well informed and just know it will go down when my body stabilizes. So it's all gravy baby.
Look, you ladies have the best day ever. I'm gonna get my butt up and get something done. Lets start this week off right ladies. Susie you get those walking shoes on and get that walk in this morning..k? ;)
I'll check in later and catch up with you cool cats, so until then...tootaloo!

Delphi I like the "cool cats." Good morning to everyone....I don't seem to able to keep up with everyone. I check in maybe once or twice daily and there are so many posts. This morning I went to the last page. Good luck all you ladies since it is Monday morning. To report on yesterday goals...I finally got 4 1/2 bottles of water in me yesterday, not easy, I felt like my stomach was a pool. Add a little granola to that and oooohh that did not feel nice...But i got my water intake goal yesterday, I did write a few posts (and lost one, how does that happen, it was really deep, I got mad), And I kept under my points. Unfortunately I was way under my points, I think it had to do something with all that water. So
I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday....Although working thursday, friday, saturday, sunday, and now monday....monday is just another day....but for everyone who has a regular week schedule.....enjoy the sun if you live in a place where it is shining....hugs to everyone.

Jacque ~ :woohoo: Love dem der goals darling. Good to see you back to. We need a quite smoke challenge..eh? New Years Resolution maybe?
That's what I'm thinking!!! By then for me it will have been almost a year since I started my journey and if I am able to keep the weight off through the holidays, then I won't be so concerned with gaining any back. I know I will need to stop drinking or at least cut back alot plus my BF will have to be onboard...he's a big smoker and drinker too!!! WE CAN DO IT!!!! I am already psyching myself up for it!!!
There still are some things that jiggle on my body, so I really want to tone those areas. I think I will always worry to some extent about the number on the scale, but mostly, if my clothes fit, I will be happy. I will need to just stay focused on the new lifestyle and being healthy and happy!!!
Well then what else? Oh silly me, that's right! It's time for The Measurement Lecture!!!(I swear I'm going to write this up in some kind of document so I can just cut and paste every month!)
I started measuring in May although I had forgotten to measure my arms the first month. So far a total of 19" gone!!!
May - 7"
June - 6.5"
July - 5.5"

Hey girls! Confessions time...I ate enough yesterday to feed a small 3rd world nation and felt like crap afterward. My anniversary turned painful. I cannot eat near the amount I used to be able to and get away with it (had 2 bowls of soup and split an entree with DH), which is good, I guess. But, why did I do that?! Morning!
Mystical - that sounds like a wonderful plan with ds, I know that it's such a fine line between having them eat certain things to stay healthy and not restrciting them so they rebel. My heart would break knowing my dd had to go through life heavy as I have been. Maybe even make yourself a running goal, like when you reach ___ weight you'll start (or when you're not going pass out) and then just give it a go, you never know what you can do until you try. :) Enjoy the long weekend, it's beautiful out west as well.
rcrough - Welcome to the board!
Ang - that's so far, you're determined! I like it! You're gonna have one full bedroom, you need 50lbs in there already.
CMo4 - I'll see how the hoisting works and let you know, I've had other success with halter style dresses so heres hoping. Oh ewww, mine too! I had mine pop open at a baseball game when dd was three or four weeks old, she was on my lap and I thought she peed on my pants, so yes, didn't heal right, LOL, no bikini. I do remember the doctor saying as she was stitching, we'll make it nice and low so you can still where a bikini. Now granted, I don't remember this but dh said I laughed histarically for like a full minute when she said this and everyone kind of stared at me, the doctor chalked it up to the drugs but dh said he knew exactly what it was about. Good boy, knows me all too well. Sweet NSV! Who's that sexy lady getting Sandye's mail, oh ya, it's Sandye!!
Ruth - Down a pound with Chinese food?!? You are incredible, I have never met chinese food that didn't bloat the daylights out of me, must have been some great food choices!
BKKChick - Congrats on the run! Great job and wow you guys go back to school early!
LTTG - I agree, chatterbox is a great quality! And I'm sure they were witty as all get out, I know the ones I lost were too ;)
MARS - Never to late! Welcome aboard and great to have you.
Merose - Glad you stopped yourself, coming here does that for me too! Stopping yourself is the hardest part, good for you.
Delphi - enjoy getting those beautiful boys set for school and so nice peace and quiet for you soon too. I think information is totally the key, you must be at a 3lb deficit by now, I'm hanging out with a 2lb one or so and it's just comforting to know that it will let go and we've done all we can.
ernurse - WTG on the water, it's funny when you can hear it sloshing around in there. I found it definitely affects the appetite at the beginning but soon enough you'll be eating like a champ again (and not peeing every five minutes)
Susie - oh I love canning! have fun for the rest of us I don't have a garden here yet:( Hope you're sheep and you are doing good.
Jacque - I must agree that I do think the scale number is important, as an indicator anyway of whether we're going in the right direction or not. If I didn't step on the scale I could have 10 extra pounds b/f the clothes get snug and I'd rather see it far b/f then!
Pucedaisy - Sweet! 140's congrats! congrats! Enjoy that wine club, I used to have one of those, we used the books as coasters!
Khunter - have an awesome day at work!
MsP - That sounds very uncomfortable, clean it out and run it out and hope you feel better soon. I'm sure the bloatys will be gone in no time.
W2b140 - That sounds like a game show, awesome! Congrats on 4.5 pounds that's fantastic.
As for little old me, that mystery pound left today so back to my 185. I was looking at my weights too and it looks like I pretty consistently lose for 4-6 days then gain a bit (granted usually only 0.2 not 0.8 like yesterday) for one day then lose again for 4-6. It's been that way for about a month and a half, it's odd I didn't see it before, interesting.
Running is finished, great morning, cold with NO bugs! Going to go encounter some lawn mowing and enjoy the beautiful day! Dh is off tuesday and wednesday so I won't have tons of time to mow then. We're probably heading into Edmonton tomorrow and dh wants to hit the beach on Wednesday, that boy loves the beach, but then again when I have a six pack I might like the beach more too!
Have a great day ladies.

Wellll... I knew yesterday was going to be impossible and it was.
Started out the morning making breakfast sandwiches for DH and I.. mine made me feel icky (so much for all my favorite naughty foods, most make me feel like crap after) so I made a smoothie for myself. Then off to my sister's to take her out for her birthday, naturally she wanted to go to some small Japanese restaurant where I couldn't get calorie counts.
Ate deep fried spring rolls, soup, a bit of salad, teriakyi chicken with rice and noodles and a couple bites of tiramisu they brought her for it being her birthday. Then a piece of birthday cake.
On a good note: I didn't get hungry the rest of the day... so I didn't eat anything for dinner.... so there was some good and some bad and overall I'm not too bothered about it. I doubt I did a ton of damage, so I'm happy.
Hope everyone's August is going well!

Hi All!
Tummy: Actually I was down yesterday morning before I ate the chinese food. This morning I'm back up a .8, grrrrr! I'm vowing to not eat chinese for a while, I had it twice within a weeks time! I know that I did not eat enough to make me gain almost a pound though so I think as long as I do well today the weight will be gone tomorrow, hopefully.
I agree about the scale, I have to keep tabs on what going on or else it can get out of hand before I realize it. I generally weigh everyday, unless I've ate way too much the day before and I just don't want to face up to it. But lately I've been weighing even after I've eaten too much and sometimes the damage is not as bad as I think its going to be.
Hope you all have a great day!

Well we survived registration and I got all my errands ran today aside from picking up Canaan's meds. Which I can't pick up until tomorrow due to the insurance not wanting to pay for it until then. So my baby has to go all day without two of his meds...now isn't that just peachy.
Sandye, that sounds fine to me. That actually means I can get my ST in today and perhaps mow. But I had a busy morning, so I should be golden with my calorie burn today. The harder I push in the morning, the better overall burn I have for the entire day. So that will work. Tummy, how goes the day darling? I saw a bunch of bathing suits at wally world on clearance and thought about you. I actually thought about snagging one, just cause, but I refrained. Perhaps next Summer I will. Hey  to all you other ladies. Jacque, I am willing to do it. I need to so bad, plus they discontinued my cigarettes due to this new FDA regulations. So lets do it together darling. MsP, no worries love. One day isn't going to hurt...plus it was a special occasion anyways. Shake it off darling and keep fighting the good fight..eh? ;) FSA ~ Thanks for the wonderful words and I'm so proud of you for quitting. I just don't have the strength right now.
Alright, I'm sooooooo behind this morning, so I have ST to tend to and a lawn to mow if I want to watch LOST tonight. I hope you ladies have a great day. I'll try to get back on later and catch up with you ladies in a more proper, less rushed fashion. I love reading everyones news and just keeping up with all you ladies.

OH MAN .... I had a really fun, but really BAD weekend (eating wise) I had a 3day weekend, so the binge started friday and went on until Sunday. I was at a party on Saturday and a co-ed baby shower/bbq on sunday so i was eating AND drinking alcohol. I feel bloated and just gross today :( I'm kinda bummed because I gained about 1-1/2 lbs. But, i guess it could have been worse!
Anyway, I'm starting fresh again today! Hope all you ladies (and gents) had a good weekend! :D

Yeah, I already feel better today. I had a salad with chicken breast for lunch and now I feel "cleaner" on the inside, kwim? I just had a serious lapse in judgement yesterday, but I'm moving on...
On another subject, we found out this morning that the people accepted our counter offer on our house, so we are scheduled to close on it at the end of next month! YAY!! It's as good as sold!
On yet another note, I have an incredible NSV this past weekend that I kept forgetting to mention. I went to some garage sales with my mom and aunt and found a couple sales selling size 12's/Lg. The one lady explained it was her (adult) daughter selling them since she'd gained some weight. (How nice for me to be on the other end of the spectrum!) I figured I'd be in a 12 this fall/winter at some point, so I should get a few pants and tops. They were all like really nice brands in excellent shape. I ended up getting a few pairs of pants, 2 skirts, and a few tops. Anyway, I get home and try them on and instead of squeezing into them, they all fit perfectly. All different brands from different sales! Well, actually the skirts were very slightly tighter. The funny thing was that I was actually kinda dissappointed in a way, cause I thought I was planning ahead and would be ready for winter. Now I have to go again and this time maybe get a couple 10's that might fit me in a couple/few months. Did you read that, girls ?! ...10's!!! YeeHaw! So, that was my big announcement. I can now wear 12's! It's been since before I had kids that I could say that, so we're talking major progress here. Thanks to all who have encouraged me here! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

MsP That's awesome on the sz 12s. I've been going through my closet getting rid of stuff I don't or won't wear anymore and some of my 12's fit. I mostly still wear 14's though, can't wait to be back in to 10's.
Got 42 minutes of walking/jogging on the treadmill. Its nice to have it done earlier in the day and not have to worry about it later.
What do you guys think about the Healthy Choice frozen dinners with the desserts? I've been getting them when they are on sale and eat them sometimes for lunch. I'm wondering if I shouldn't get them because of the dessert portion. They average 260-340 cals I think. I wonder how many calories the dessert is.

It turned out to be a nice day and I did laps for 30 min. Puttered around outside and watered the plants, etc. I didn't really feel like getting too much sun. Dh and I are going for a walk in a bit ....hopefully at the beach as it's a bit oppressive on land.

Tummygirlllllll,,,, hope your enjoying that beautiful weather today! wtg on that run. Have an awesome time with DH on your vaca together. MIne is taking tomorrow off, it's supposed to be hot and sunny! Have fun girl :)
Hi ruth..........I used to eat chinese once a week! I quit last fall when I started eating healthy again anddddddd watching my salt intake. I would gain 2 lbs. every time I ate chinese....it's extremely salty (the americanized version anyways). I'm sure it's fluid that your carrying ...just hang in there and with a good OP day or so it should come right off. I typically weigh once a week as that works best for me ( I get too frustrated otherwise as my weight fluctuates a lot) but plenty of the girls weigh daily and it works great for them. It's a matter of what works best for each of us. I did cut back on weighing out of frustration butttttt not good to go real long without weight either...I totally agree. HOpe your having a great day.
shrinking girl and miss....hope your having a better day today. Try not to be too hard on yourselves..it takes some time sometimes to get into a pattern and we started on a weekend. Behind us now.......and onto a new day! Let's keep at it :carrot::carrot: :) speaking of which girls...I need to make sure to sip on my water, I feel extra hungry today for some reason.
Hi Jacque....yeah , the jar is fun! lol. HOpe your having a great day jacque...keep on shining :)
OH I have to go get ready..........a big hello to you all. Catch you soon girls. We will keep at it!

Hi Ladies -- I found something interesting about my weigh-ins this last week. Typically when I get up in the morning I head to the bathroom and then I weigh myself. I always thought that I would find my lowest weight with that routine. Well about a week ago I was in the bathroom right before lunch and stepped on the scale. I was a pound lighter than that morning.:D So this last week I have weighed myself twice a day and I really do weigh less right before lunch than when I first wake up (with empty bladder). I eat a pretty decent breakfast of an english muffin with peanut butter, a banana and some yogurt and drink 40 oz of water in the morning. Maybe I just am flushing more out during that time period. Don't know but I am sticking with it!
So today I weighed in pre-lunch at 204!!:carrot::carrot::carrot: At this rate I should make Onderland for my August goal.

Yes!!!! I love me nuts. But, cutting down and increasing fruits and veggies might be my game plan. I try to stay optimistic about this whole thing becoz I think its how our mind frame is going to be thats going to carry us through. This is a lifelong journey so there will be days we give in to temptation. And I think thats ok. I heard once what we do 10% or the time wont hurt what we do 90%. On other hand ive had alot of 10% times!!!!! So that will be a break on those days! God bless everyone.

I'm back on plan no problem today.
I was really worried about going out to eat and the cake yesterday because all last week I really hadn't craved anything. I didn't want more to eat, I didn't want things I couldn't have and generally... I found I was preferring my healthy foods to the crap I'd been eating before. So, needless to say I was worried about it all going away... but it didn't!
Today's been great!
I hope everyone else is doing great!

Evening Ladies,
Don't have time for the personals tonight, gotta run and pick up dh from work shortly, but I had to catch up on the news. Tomorrow's gonna be busy too so I got in a couple (count them, four!) workouts today so I only need one tomorrow and still be on track. And going to finally bite the bullet and pick up some protien powder tomorrow, gosh that stuff's expensive but I'm trying to be a temple so it's only the good stuff. Just finding I can't possibly eat the amount of protien I should be with all the weights and running and stuff. Does anyone else have any ways of getting enough protien in?
Oh and Sandye I'm picking up some cookbooks tomorrow and if they turn out to be good I'll pass names along! Oh and Delphi, lol, on the swimsuits, I may, just may, take pics when mine come in but i'm warning you know if I do I will be sucking in, hard!

Here are my three goals and my progess so far:
1) Drink 2.5 liters water/day- Wasn't a problem (I had a UTI this weekend and comsumed gallons to get rid of it)
2) Stay OP -- Success, I allow myself 6 extra points/weekend day to account for drinks and extra eating and I allow myself to bank these. Helps me keep control.
3) No mindless snacking- I've been eating on a schedule to keep myself from grazing and mindlessly snacking.

good evening to all you chicky chicks!
as i sit here, i have to wonder to myself, as we lose weight do we look in the mirror, and see the new us..or the old us? i know i have "fat days", when no matter what i put on, i look yukkie fat in it.
Today was a day of walking...30kms, then came home, and headed to the beach...and swam for almost 2 hours strainght with the kids. i have to amit..i felt very proud of the walking, but really wish i put sunscreen on. Every single muscle in my legs hurt.
i was on plan for food i think..egg whites, salmon sandwich, 3 lifestyle cookies(at grammas house) protien shake, chicken breast, and half of a corn on the cob.
i think its time, to go to bed and read a book!
have a great night everyone!

Good evening girls!!! :)
Ruth~ yeah weekends are harder for me too. I have trouble drinking my water and watching my portions--but now that hubby doesn't try to get me to cheat every weekend, it's gotten a bit easier. ;) Glad to hear you stomach is better! :) As for the frozen dinners--I don't think they're too horrible in terms of calories and if you're pinched for time they're sure better than fast food. I used to eat Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones for lunch every day--but I'm super sensitive to sodium so I stopped eating them (well, that and I'm trying to force myself to cook and make my own lunches since I am at home ;)). Anyway, I don't think they're a bad thing to eat, just not as good as making something from scratch, kwim? But if you don't have time or whatever, they're fine. :)
BKKchick~ WTG on the run this morning!!! :carrot:
Mom~ sorry to hear about your lost post--lot of posts get lost it seems, not sure why. I know when I lose one it's because my fingers get flying and I hit a wrong button. My shoes were tight this morning! So much so I switched to my old ones. I guess that proves what I've been suspecting the past few days--I'm retaining water. I'm going to try them tomorrow and see if they're any better. I hope so, otherwise I need to take them back and exchange them. Hmm...that would mean another hour or so out of the house alone...hmm...;) I need to chat with you about your haircut! Why do you hate it? I hope you are feeling better about it now. :)
Mars540~ :welcome: Jump right in and make yourself at home! :)
Merose~ glad you're back with us hun! Now, no more alcohol dearie--not if it's going to land you feeling icky and overeating! :nono: You stay right here and we'll keep you in line! ;)
ernurse~ it's definitely difficult sometimes keeping up with this thread! I find that early morning and after the kids go to bed is really the only time I can type any kind of decent reply. But, a busy thread is a good thread right? Right! Congrats on getting all your water in! It's tough getting used to doing it, but soon enough it will be a habit. :) Keep up the great work!
Susie~ hey chickie!! How'd you do to day hun? Hope all the ewes are doing well!!! :)
Jacque~ oooh, I'll be right behind you and Delphi :cheering: you both on! I know you two can kick the habit! Look at all you've accomplished, you can totally stop smoking! :) WTG on the inches lost girlie!! That's fantastic! :carrot:
pucedaisy~ hope you're having a great time at your wine--err--book club tonight! ;) Congrats on making it to 149!!! I'm jealous! ;) We'll keep you honest for sure, just keep posting and we'll keep harassing ya! :D
khunter~ hope you had a great day at work!! :)
MsP~ Aww, well, at least you had a fun anniversary! :) Good for you jumping right back onto the wagon hun! Fun's over, back to business! Hope you are back to feeling 100% now. :) Woo hoo on those size 12's hun!!! You'll be in 10's before you know it girlie!! Yee haw!! :carrot: And congrats on selling your house!!! Woo hoo on the panties!!!
wanting~ Hi there! Not sure if I said :welcome: or not :) Good luck with your goals this month!! :)
Mystical~ hope you had a fun cookout! Mmmm, steak! I feel the same way if I eat too much of it. If I stick with around 3oz though, I'm okay. Mmm...yummy. :)
Tummy~ hahaha! Oh I can just see me doing the same thing on the operating table! When mine popped open I had to go back the next day and the dr wanted to basically cut the incision open and re staple it. I said, 'um, what if we just leave it butterflied? I mean, I don't care what it looks like when it's healed, it's not like I'm ever going to wear a bikini or anything.', needless to say, I left there without seeing a scalpel. ;) Glad to hear your run was bug free and congrats on getting rid of you extra pound--wanna take mine? It's still hanging around...sheesh! Thanks for thinking of me and the cookbooks hun! :) Let me know if there's any that I must have! :D
shasha~ :welcome: Glad to have you! Good luck on your August goals! :)
FSA~ congrats on quitting!!! I didn't know that! :) Great idea about the money jar too! I wish I had done that back when I quit, but smokes were still only about $2-3 then, not the crazy insane $5-6 they are now. Still, it would have been cool to have some extra cash! :)
inthemidst~ sorry to hear you had a rough day yesterday--all you can do is get back to it hun! Hope you get your vacation plan worked out! :)
Shrinking~ ahh, Birthday's a tough, but ya know what? Sometimes you just have to celebrate them and move on. :) Glad to hear you're not stressing over it, sounds like it was a fun time!
Delphi~ hurray for surviving registration! :carrot: Isn't it just the funnest thing ever?! ;) Sorry to hear Canaan is going to have to go without his meds--that's bs! I'm glad you're cool with doing C25K on T,Th,Sat--with us doing it on the same day, I know I'll be more motivated to get it done, kwim? I think I see sense some challenges comin' on... Hope you got everything you needed to done so you can watch some more LOST!! :)
misspiggy~ well, the weekend is behind you now--just shake it off and start fresh! You can do it! Be sure to drink plenty of water, that'll help with the bloaties! :)
Nello~ that is interesting! I'm going to weigh myself pre lunch tomorrow to see if maybe I'm the same way--I'm sure I'm not, but ahh, what the heck? ;) Congrats on hitting 204!! Onederland here you come!!!
MountainChick~ yay on joining a gym! I'm really wanting to, but just can't swing it right now. Movie popcorn is the best! I swear they lace it with crack it's so addictive!!! ;)
Heather~ oh a positive frame of mind definitely helps! Absolutely! And the great thing is, when you're running low on positivity--coming here will get you right back on track and feeling fantastic in no time! :) Sounds like you're got a great plan in mind hun! :)
rcrough~ sounds like you're doing great! Sorry about the UTI though. :( Keep up the great work! :)
Well ladies, it was a nice day! My friend came over and we had a nice time. :) She commented on my weight loss and said that she didn't think she had ever seen me this thin before. It occurred to me that she was right, she never has. So that was nice of her to comment.
I stayed POP and didn't eat any of the ravioli I made everyone for dinner. I opted to wait until they went home (around 6'ish) and make myself something else for dinner with less cals and fat. :) After I put the girls to bed, I finally got in my 2nd workout! :carrot: I was beginning to think I wouldn't get it in--especially since hubby wasn't home. But, I pulled it off! I did it! And it's all because I knew if I didn't I'd have to come here and report to you girls that I didn't do it! And you know I couldn't do that now could I? ;)
I am totally still retaining water. I have no idea what is going on! I mean, TOM doesn't usually do this to me. In fact, I usually lose while on TOM. But man it's bad! My feet were even swollen this morning! And yes, I'm drinking all of my water--today I had over 130oz and honestly, I'm thirsty right now and could drink more! But I'm wondering if that's the problem maybe? Too much water causing retention? Hmm...maybe I'll just drink 64oz tomorrow if I wake up puffy again. Anyway, I have a feeling the scale is going to be stubborn again tomorrow and part of me just wants to ignore it for a day. But I'm sure I won't. ;)
Well ladies, I should hit the road. I need to get a drink so that my throat will stop whining at me to get it some water! ;) Hope everyone had a great day! Sleep well and I'll see you tomorrow!!!

Mountain Chick----that is sooo exciting you lost that much! Good for you!!! I looked at your starting, current, and goal weights and it looks like we are pretty similar in our goals.
What are you doing as far as an eating/exercise plan to lose that much in less than a week???
Today was a productive day....I got a lot of studying done and managed to take my books to the gym and walk and read at the same time. I filled up on veggies and fruit today and made sure to get a lot of protein too because Ive noticed it keeps me full longer. Hopefully tomorrow goes as smoothly...

I am up 3 lbs...but I've been good, so I think it's because I was unintentionally low-carbing and now I'm intentionally eating lots of carbs....and renewed glycogen + water stores = 3 extra pounds. But because this is a natural state, and my previous low weight was unnatural, I am locking in the higher weight and adjusting my end of August goal weight to 114.5 lbs.
New current weight: 119.5
New goal weight: 114.5
No biggie!

Good evening, chickies. I hope everyone had a good Monday.
TUMMY ~ Why is it that our most brilliant, wittiest, cleverest personals get lost? :?: Bug wings be damned! I don't know if I have a before picture. Even when I was thin, you did not take a picture of me if you wanted to avoid a black eye. :boxing: You WEAR that bathing suit to the grocery store, heck ya! :high:That pound you found? Not mine, I found some too this morning. Your rainy day sounded so nice. I love a rainy day to nest. Clean a closet, cozy up with a good book. Ahhh....We don't get rain after April or before October. Needless to say, I am so looking forward to our first rain of autumn. :book2:
ANGEL ~ Ooh, I hear you on the dumb son issue. Mine pulled a stupid stunt about a year ago. It's heartbreaking, and you envision them going down the path to ****. Hang tight. My son has done a complete turnaround. I have to think that getting in trouble was what he needed to do at that point to make him realize he didn't want to go down that road. Don't beat yourself up over the ice cream. I think your 5 lb of sugar idea is great!:cp:
FSA ~ Thanks for the pep talk, I needed that!
Sounds like yesterday was the perfect day. In my book, any day that includes the ocean is all I need. :cloud9:
DELPHI ~ Way to go on all of those inches!:woohoo: Isn't Lost just the best show? I can't wait for the season to begin! :yay: Dang those insurance companies. :devil:They are pure evil. I hope Canaan doesn't suffer because of it.
SUSIE ~ Hope your sheep are doing okay:yes: What are you canning?
DECAP ~ Five pounds? Awesome!:carrot:
SANDYE ~ So did DH bring home the fish, fry it up in a pan, never let you forget he's a man? Boy, I'm dating myself here. Damn that TOM! Beats the alternative :yikes: though ;) But down on the inches, that's good! :carrot: "Amp up my burn," my but don't you sound like a fitness junkie!:hyper: Did you have a nice visit with J and her brood? I'm glad she finally noticed! Crikey, how could she not? :shrug:I think that even if your shoes aren't tight tomorrow, you shold go a ;)" check out other options" for an hour or two! My hair! Oy! No more layers! Ever! They go every which way. :fr:I look like a punk rocker, and that is not the look I was going for. What's with this "second workout?" Are you working out twice a day now?
MOUNTAIN ~ Four lbs in one week? That's crazy talk! Way to go! :carrot:
MSP ~Hope your anniversary was nice. Have fun on your trip! Glad you're feeling better after your cleanse. Honestly, two bowls of soup and half an entree is not that bad! Congrats on the house. That is great news. And the size 12s!!! Wow! :cp:
NELLO ~ I find that if I weight two hours after my first weigh in, even with nothing but two cups of coffee, I can gain 1-2 lbs. :yikes:
MSYTICAL ~ Oh I am so right there with you with regard to running! I manage to walk 40 minutes on the treadmill, but when I tried to do the HIIT that Sandye does, I managed to "run" for a minute, and my heart rate went so high I thought I'd have a coronary. :faint: As much as I'd wouldn't mind a hunky firefighter giving me mouth-to-mouth, it just wasn't a good day to die. Even when I was young and skinny, I couldn't run very far. Taking up smoking at a young age didn't help!
MEROSE ~ Tomorrow is a new day. Weekends are tough!:dust:
PUCE ~ Your book club sounds like my kind of group. May I join? :D
Whew! We're a chatty bunch! Starting the month on a weekend was not condusive to weight loss for me. After the first day, I gained .6, and stayed the same today. I did not drink nearly enough water, and had some wine. I'm hoping to see a dip in the morning. The weather is blessidly cool (80s), work is easing up a tad, so all in all, a pretty good day. Sleep tight, chickies.

Goal for the month is to lose 8 lbs. I will be weighing in on Friday. Hope its going down. Today was a really good day as far as eating/working out. I couldn't eat all my pasta, so I gave the rest to my boyfriend. But don't worry, got all the veggies in. A 2 lb loss is what I am going for this Friday, seems pretty reasonable.

Hey everyone!
What a busy thread! As my first monthly weight loss challenge, I never knew how busy a thread got. I took the weekend off; extremely busy. And this coming weekend is my 18th birthday; It's going to be SO hard to watch what I'm eating and get my exercise in. Maybe all the laughing to come will help?
Any way, I just wanted to check in before I got too behind!

miss....I'm glad your having a much better day today :). Let's keep on truckin'. I was always a night person so having my water at night helps keep me full and helps keep the hungries at bay! Sleep tight : )
shrinking girl...wtg on getting back on plan :carrot::carrot:
Hi to all of our chickies. ernurs, rcrough, heather, angel, gillyhicks, BKK, sasha, and to all of our team here. I will catch up with you tomorrow.
As for my news girls.........I went for a walk with dh after work. We went on the land route...it felt warm walking but glad we went. Took it easy tonight and still sipping on water as we speak. Speaking of which,,, Sandye,, that happened to me once with TOM...I held on to the water. I think I slowed down that next night and gave it a chance to exit, it was pretty funky.
My weekend was active and I loved that. I did pretty good overall, got my exercise in.......not perfectly OP but working on it all and gave up a lot of temptations. I resisted going to brunch with Dh yesterday , I resisted going for chinese food, lol........and I didn't eat at that comfort type food restaurant we stopped in (nothing healthy on the menu as far as I'm concerned) and I was fine as I had mini meals during the day and a healthy late lunch and afternoon snack. I am still not doing things quite to my liking but I am certainly making an effort and feel good about improving in many ways. OH, we went back to the market too and I stocked up on everything I need so I am all set.
I got my new thing........Olivias organic spring mix greens, oh girls I just love making a salad with those greens!!!!!!! I get the grape tomatoes (now the vegetable garden ones we have and the farm) and I sometimes put white roast chicken in there or h.b egg or just the veggies. I also put some feta cheese....(sparingly) and f. f italian dressing. I love those salads and those greens are great. I think there are 5-7 different types in there. I am striving towards having my salads as a meal snack, etc.... and will be working on moving away from the carbs again (except for occassionally).
Keep up the great work everyone. We start our new day tomorrow, day 4! Wishing us all a happy and successful day. Chat soon

Hey girls! Confessions time...I ate enough yesterday to feed a small 3rd world nation and felt like crap afterward.
Good luck on the clean eating. I know that you can do it. Sometimes it is nice to cheat so you ask yourself...."was this really worth it?"
Morning!
Congrats on loosing the pound. Isn't it interesting how our bodies work???
Hi! I'm new to this site and would love to join in on the August challenge.
Welcome. I'm new to this thread too. Everyone seems great tho and it is really busy
We head to Boston for a short vacation thursday. LOL. Gotta figure out to vacation and eat op.
Ohhhh.....sounds like fun. Plan and plan and then just have fun!
Typically when I get up in the morning I head to the bathroom and then I weigh myself. I always thought that I would find my lowest weight with that routine. Well about a week ago I was in the bathroom right before lunch and stepped on the scale. I was a pound lighter than that morning.:D
I just found this out myself. I am nearly a whole pound lighter right before lunch! LOL
as i sit here, i have to wonder to myself, as we lose weight do we look in the mirror, and see the new us..or the old us? i know i have "fat days", when no matter what i put on, i look yukkie fat in it.
I wonder the same. Most of the time I see the same fat me as before, but then there are outfits that just make me burst with pride.
I have no idea how but I dropped 4 lbs in <1 week. Woot! :jig: I have to revise my goal for August! :D
Woo- HOO!!!! :carrot::carrot:
Ok for me....I was completely OP today and even went running with DH. He was wonderful and kept me moving. Even broke our time for the 5K that we mapped out. I hope the scale shows my efforts.

Good Morning Ladies
Phenomenal Woman, naz, shasha ~ :welcome:
jeweliek ~ :congrat: on having an OP day.
FSA ~ Well sounds like you are enjoying all those goodies you picked up. I wish I had such enthusiasm when it came to greens though. ;)
malle ~ It is indeed a busy one. Sounds like you have some great goals. Welcome aboard.
LTTG ~ *tough love impending* Well Sandye gives the measurement lecture and tummy gives the, take pictures lecture and I give the, don't drink alcohol lecture. Not because of the obvious, but because of what it does to our bodies when we are trying to lose weight. Alcohol is a big no no whilst dieting (and yes, I just said whilst ;) ) It does funky things to our metabolism. Rest assured if you eat and drink alcohol, your body has to completely focus on how to get it out of your body, so your body will store what you eat, as all it's resources are too busy dealing with the alcohol that it simply can't deal with the food to. I guess I just wanted to give you a heads up. You've worked so hard, so don't get discouraged with your up a bit, after a night of having a drink or two. ;)
mountainchick ~ :woohoo: on that amazing loss.
Sandye ~ Wouldn't that just be lovely. If we could just ignore ol' Darth Scale? But we don't. Then again, it keeps us honest as well. I think it will be an important part of maintenance to. So you ready to do this today? I know I am. I'm trying to decide if I wanna do it on the treadmill or in my driveway. I'm guessing you are doing it on the tready, so what setting are you gonna put it on to do the jogg/running intervals? I think I'll push myself more on the treadmill, but right now, I think I should stick to being outside and getting used to my own pace, before I start to challenge myself..ya think? Glad you got that workout in and hey no worries about Darth Scale...if he gets to annoying, we can always go blow up the Death Star again...it respawns every so often. ;)
Jacque ~ Oh my gosh it is. We just finished up season 2 last night and think we just watched one episode of the 3rd season. When does the new season start? And January it is darling.
Tummy ~ Hey luv! Well you guys have fun at the beach and enjoy having hubby home. Lucky girl. I think I'm really gonna enjoy the cooler mornings. I was actually looking for something to wear for those cooler mornings. I heard it was great for the metabolism as well. The colder it is, the harder your body has to work, to stabilize your temperature, hence burning more calories, ya know? But I am in between sizes again and everything is too big, way too big or just small enough to annoy and irritate me. Seriously all my pants that don't have a button and zipper, are so big, I have to roll up the tops of them to wear them, and then they are only good for a few hours. Stoopid pants. Sooo what cha wearing out there on that dirt road darling. I love your kitchen by the way. ;)
Alright ladies, I finally saw a little movement in the right direction this morning. I saw a new decade but I knew it two days ago. It's weird how you can just know, you just feel light on your feet. But I'm just weird like that anyways. So perhaps it is simply my eccentricities. I'm just thrilled I finally saw the scale move. The whole TOM thing is really not bad either. Day 4 and it just didn't bother me in the slightest. I think it's all the preTOM crap, that has me feeling all blah. So I hope it's out of her shortly. School starts tomorrow and that means, things are gonna be quiet around here. Just me, Canaan and the wee one. I'm gonna be so lonely with no one to talk to. I mean I can have a conversation with my two yr. old, but it's quite one sided, I can assure you. ;)
Well, I have stuff to do, people to see and civilizations to save. You ladies have a great day and remember to make someone, somewhere, smile today.

good morning!
5 more days till my hubby leaves for about 14 months..alteast he will be home for xmas. Today is going to be my rest day..no crazy walks, or anything, my body is sore today from yesterday. good news the scale went down .4...i would like more..but hey it went down.
Im going to harrase the doctors today until they tell me my daughters test results..yesterday was a civic holiday, bu her doctor called us at 540pm, but we were at the beach..so im thinking the results are in..i really hope its graves disease (its the less of the two evils) and easly controled by meds.
have a great day ladies!

Good morning my pretties! :)
Another day is upon us--are you ready to make it count? :carrot:
Ang~ we must have posted at the same time last night. :) That's a good question...I think a little of both for me. Sometimes I think I'm looking pretty darn good, other times I'm surprised when people comment on how 'skinny' I look--like they can't be talking about ME (of course I'm talking about my FIL and hubby, not random strangers--they tend to exaggerate my weight loss a bit ;)). Enjoy your day off hun! And do keep us posted on what the dr says k?
MountainChick~ well my guess is that your lbs decided to come stay with me! Seriously though, congratulations! Great job!!! :)
Gilly~ sounds like you had a fantastic day yesterday! WTG! :)
BKKchick~ I bet you're right. Switching from low carbing to reg/high carbing would definitely cause a temporary bump in the numbers. I'm sure it'll be gone in no time. :)
Mom~ Yeah, he brought home the tiniest little crappi--it was so wee! I can't believe he even brought it home! He ended up taking the boys fishing after he ate some dinner and he returned the little guy to the pond. :) Ry caught 2 fish--they weren't keepers though, but he had fun. :) Yes, we had a good time--it was too short a visit though. We might be going out there on Saturday, not sure yet. Me? A fitness junkie? Nah, I still don't live and breathe to workout yet. ;) Yes, I'm working twice a day on my ST'ing days. I figured it might help crank up my weight loss since I've been stalled out for over a week, plus well, why not? :D Sorry about the layers--perhaps in a couple of weeks they'll grow out a bit and calm down. Mine are pretty crazy too--but using some of that smoothing serum stuff helps a bit.
shasha~ congrats on a great day! Keep up the great work hun! :)
Molly~ Happy Pre-Birthday! I'm sure you'll do great with the exercise and staying OP. :) However, it is your Birthday so there's nothing wrong with having a little cake--just don't go bananas! ;) Welcome aboard and yes, this thread is very active!! :)
FSA~ First of all, I want to say congrats for checking in so often this month! I love seeing your posts everyday! :) Sounds like you had a great weekend! You turned down a lot of yummy stuff, that takes will power! Mmm, those greens sound yummy! I love a salad with lots of different greens! Speaking of which, I really need to start eating more salads! I've been slacking a bit.
Jewelie~ woo hoo! WTG on the run yesterday! That's awesome! Keep up the great work!! :)
Naz~ :welcome: This is a great group of girls! Jump right in and make yourself comfy! :)
Phenomenal~ :welcome: to you as well! Good luck on your August goals!! :)
Delphi~ Hey chickie! Well, by the time I read this my workout was done. I did do it on the treadmill (I will most of the time probably--although I should do it outside). I did my walking at 3.5-3.8 and my running at 6.1-6.2'ish, I didn't sweat nearly as much as my first workout and I was barely out of breath this time either. I wonder if it's because I've had a couple days off of running? I dunno. Anyway, it was a good workout. :) Darth Scale is still at it. I knew the day would come when my weight loss would slow down, but I was kind of hoping it would be after I hit my goal! Stupid scale! Ah well, it's all good--I'm not going to be derailed just because the scale is being dumb. ;) Hey, as far as you having no one to talk to--you've got my email hun! I can at least entertain you with my ramblings from time to time during the day. :D Hee hee Whoa! Just read your post--so lemme get this straight--you did the workout and another 40 mins of walking after that? You ROCK!!! Man, you're making me feel like a slacker!
75togo~ :welcome: The boards take a little bit to get used to, but I've found that the people here are super helpful if you run into a problem. :)
Well girlies--still not losing any of this danged water weight! In fact, I'm up to 151.8 today! It's madness I tell ya! However, I will not fret. I KNOW I'm eating OP and exercising so I KNOW it's not fat so it's all good! :D I'm going to only drink 64oz of water today (if I can keep myself from drinking more ;)) and see if that helps at all with the crazy retention.
I also need to figure out my calories. I've been eating around 1200-1250 a day and doing okay, but then I decided that maybe I needed more so I was shooting for 1300. I'm struggling to get that much in. Plus, I'm supposed to be doing the calorie shifting thing and I haven't yet. I dunno...this stall out has me all flustered :dizzy:
Heading out today to check the class assignments for the boys and then I think I might try tackling the mess in the basement !!! It's scary down there I tell ya!
Well ladies, I better get going. I hope everyone has a fantastic day and be sure to...
Drink Your Water!!!

You know, if you have control Sandye, then try an off plan day. Don't over indulge, but simply eat something that makes you feel like you are cheating. Just add something very high calorie, that you would normally stay away from. Your deficit won't be all that high that day, but it may help. On my high calorie days, I'll eat Grandma's Rice and Chicken bake. Man that stuff is delicious, but very high in calories...but it does the trick and isn't too bad for me.

Delphi~ Hmm...control...I've heard of it...not too sure I have it though. ;) I might have to give it a go. I'll see if dropping my water a bit helps first--my fingers are like plump sausages I tell ya!

Morning
rcrough - so far so good, great planning around the weekends!
Ang - What an amazing day, I think I would have passed out after a walk that long, great for you guys. I haven't actually pondered that question in sometime but for me today, I definitely see the new me when I exercise to lose weight , I feel purposeful, powerful and strong but when I just just food to lose it, I found that my brain took a very long time to catch up to what I looked like.
Sandye - No worries, I find I'm in the same boat where I could cook the same thing we have had every week for the last three months or...I could find a new cookbook! DH is praying I find something soon, he hasn't complianed but my repitoire of healthy recipes is far shorter than my selection of super fattening ones! Oh that must have been worse than mine, they just looked at it and said, oh it'll heal, you can go home! Whoohoo on the 2nd workout! Too much water can flush out electrolytes and if you're imbalanced with those you can retain fluid, that's frustrating, geez
MountainChick - Hard work? WTG! Take credit for it you earned it!
Gillyhicks - sounds like a great day, wtg on combining the workout with studying!
BBKchick - sounds good, I know the same thing happens to me if I go a bit low in the carb department and then it's almost impossible to exercise!
LTTG - You could always take one now ;) They have timers on the new ones to avoid injury, lol.
FSA - Yuppers that's the plan, family time and less exercise today! Oh I love spring mix too!
Delphi - LOL, I love my kitchen too, not gonna lie, it's my fav! I have to keep upgrading my workout clothes since they fall off easiest with all the pounding on the road aaannndd we don't want ppl to see my pants falling down. I finally can wear those microfiber, super wick the mositure away pants and there's sorta tight but not super personal kwim? I hear ya on those clothes, god knows I look like a bag lady or a hoochie. !6's are too big and 14's are muffiny. Today I have a mission, some new bras (back to my B cup finally!) new panties, LOL, and about 7 shirts or so, something to last through 2 weeks of vacation anyway. I've put my game face on as now I have to go into regular stores to shop and they have size 0 there. Woohoo on them panties :woohoo::cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer:
I jsut realized how late it was and I got to get HIIT in b/f we head to Edmonton in 45 minutes! But good scale news, another 0.8 down this am, yeha, great thing b/f a shopping day. Have a super day ladies!

Sandye ~ I hear ya. To be honest, with that rice and chicken bake, I have to portion it out for two meals and I throw the rest in the trash. It's wasteful, but if I don't, I'll eat the whole thing it's so good. But I reduced my water to, remember half your body weight in water is still a lot of water.
Tummy ~ Yeah, I need to find something. My problem with pants is that I like wearing them on my hips and not my waist..and my waist is what is getting smaller, not my hips. I like the low cut stuff, I just feel all blah and look blah in waist jeans..at least I do right now. I'm tall, so there's a whole lot of room in between my girls and erm...the chastity belt. ;) So I don't know. I just refuse to buy any new pants, as I have 10,11's and 12's just waiting on me to fit into them..but they are all junior sizes..I don't think I even own a pair of jeans that are womens...then again, I'm completely oblivious to sizes. So dunno..have fun out today.

So I lost .4 of the .8 I gained. Hopefully I'll lose the rest plus more tomorrow.
Well, I gotta go milk the goat and a bunch of other stuff so I'll catch you guys later.
Tummy Girl
08-04-2009, 12:10 PM
Delphi - I'm with you on that, no mom jeans, oh the horror :yikes: I like them low waisted too, not butt cleavage low but right in the middle, where all the gush is, hence the muffin. I don't know if we have juniors up here, I assume we do but I've never gone over there, it's more just the sizes in "regular" and then all the sizes from 14 up also come in "plus" so you can have two 14's of different sizes b/c one's an R and ones a P. It's craziness! but regardless we're all looking better than we did in size whatevers, so here's to all us lovely ladies. Ok now I really have to go, lol.
Sandye - I don't know if this is an old wives tale or not but lemon slices in the water, honest, I do two cups a day like that (16 oz. each) and I never have any swollen limbs digits or otherwise, I here it's good for reducing cortisol hormone as well. But who knows its a nice change from regular water too even if it does nothing!

Goodmorning girls :)
HAPPY DAY 4! My goal for today is to make it a POP (perfectly on plan day) which we often refer to as OP a lot of the time and make sure I drink plenty of water. Hope we all have a happy and successful day!
naz, 75togo, + phenomenol woman :welcome3: and for those of you new to the board :wel3fc: I'll do an edit to the list and add your goals (page 13). I will be reposting the list periodically (maybe every few pages or so). Nice to have you aboard :).
naz, I hear and have seen a few pics regarding dubai. IT is beautiful! Glad you found us over here :)
75togo and phenomenal woman, oh it is fun! :) I think all of you girls will love it here. 75 and all, please feel free to ask any questions. Welcome to our team here :)
Jewel, congrats on a great OP day yesterday and on the run with DH :carrot::carrot::carrot:
Delphiiiii, congrats on the new decade chicky!!!! :carrot::carrot::carrot: Your really smoking. You look fantastic too, see you put another pic up there. Girl, wow! just wow! :) Look at you! your face, collar bones! etc. You look great. WIshing the little ones a great first day back at school Delphi, it seems early. How the time passed. We are here for you Delphi, Keep on shining sweety :).
angel, I think it's a good idea taking a rest day to let the muscles rest a bit when we are sore like that. Hope you had a great time at the beach. I hope all goes well today regarding doc results, keep us posted. P.S - there has been a lot of talk on the boards regarding the issue you brought up yesterday. Some woman who lost quite a bit of weight somehow did not feel their new bodies yet and were basically psychologically still set to the original. They say it sometimes takes the brain time to catch up with the body (for some people, while others not). You might find some more info. with a search here. Anyhow, your doing great! keep up the good work :).
Hi Jacque, hope your having a great day girl : ).
Sandye, ty for the kind words and the encouragement! Thanks chicky :) I'm working on things  Right on regarding just keeping as you are with your exercising and eating healthy....you'll beat it and get that scale moving again. wtg on your workouts already. I'm the slacker chicky, I have yet to do mine! Gosh as long as I get it in. After logging out I will go do some swimming. I love starting my day with my exercise as it sets the course for the rest of the day. Okay girl, have a good one! chat soon : ).
Tummygirl, congratulations on the loss :carrot::carrot::carrot: Have a great time shopping today! Looking forward to hearing about your shopping trip :).
Hi shasha : ) and to all of our girls! Wishing everyone a great day. Let's keep truckin'. Okay, I'm going to go move my tail. I will catch up with you soon.
Oh yes, I wanted to mention our abbreviations here for those of you who may not be familiar with them. DH means dear husband, dd means dear daughter, ds means dear son. OP means our eating has been on plan and it has been on plan. TOM means that time of month. lol means laughter out loud. kwim means know what I mean, etc. Have a great day girls :)

Can I just say I am so glad Monday is over. I actually don't mind work all that much, once Monday is over. I think its just a sadness that I have to wait a whole 5 days for the weekend again. I have my eating all planned out. My friends from work are probably going to use these free taco coupons for Jack in the Box. I'm going to have to resisit the urge to join them. Workout wise, I want to do cardio today, but I know I must start weight training. Its dumb, but I always tell myself that once I lose x amount of weight I will start doing weights. I am really self consious doing them too. Do any of you gals struggle with doing weights too?

No time for personals right now. Just wanted to check in with all of you.... I am up by 1.5lbs I think it is because I haven't been drinking enough water. :( I will just have to try harder and finally get my exercising on a regular basis... We are getting our new washer/dryer today so that should be the last of all the craziness around here. At least I hope so. Since our move it has been so hectic I know that is to be expected but it is time to settle down and get serious.....
My DH had high blood pressure that was controlled by medicine and about a year ago he had lost enough weight that he no longer needed them... But then yesterday his blood pressure is back up I believe it is because he has gained some weight back so he is getting on plan with me and all of us as family are gettimg healthy
I need some ideas for snacks for my DH since he works out of his truck all day. Any ideas?

Hi girlies!
My computer died, so I am using a laptop we have lying around. Because the screen on the laptop is broken, I am viewing this through the TV, but it's hard to read :(
The weekend didn't go as well as I would've wanted, so I am making today the official start for August. All that junk I ate in July still has a hold of me and I am trying to break the cycle with all the cravings.
I am going back to my normal exercise too today and that should definitely help.
Ok, my eyes hurt now, so I'd better log off and workout instead. I will come and try and do a bit of catch up later!

Good Morning Ladies!
FullSteamAhead: I'm so excited it, but unfortunately most of my friends are traveling. So, that party has to be moved until later. This weekend I'm having a family barbecue, which I'm nervous for with all the comfort food. The next day some of us are getting up early and going to Seattle to spend the day by the docks. Maybe go see the aquarium. Maybe that'll be my exercise!
Delphi: Thank you! :) I'll have to visit more just to keep up!

I'm finally OP for the first time in August! Yessss. Feels good.
I'm doing night shifts again, but trying to be more in control with my eating this time, and I think it's working. The key for me is to not eat at work. On night we can eat any of the food in the kitchen at the hotel, but it's all to be microwaved and is oily. Just thinking about it makes me feel a bit queasy. But sometimes when I am nodding off at about 4:15am it feels like just what I need.
I'm going to take some crudite and houmous with me today, and try to stay away from the coffee machine.
I have a friend coming over from Australia tomorrow, luckily we are both poor at the mo, so there won't be too much eating out and drinking (I'm trying to not drink anymore also).

I am here too. I am cutting back my minutes this month. Getting up at 4:30 every morning was kicking my butt by the end of the week and I was so stressed about getting all my minutes in. With family staying with us this month, I decided that my goal for August will be 1200 min. Down from 1800 in July. If I can get it more then that awesome, but as long as I meet that 1200 I will be happy. Took a few days off and back at this am.

Hey ladies!
How is everyone?? Today I finally went for a run. I hurt my leg a few months back so I haven't been able to really do much on it. I've been slowly trying to ease back into exercise, but it's still kinda sore. I was able to run a little over 3 miles in about 33 mins ... way slower than what i used to be :( Oh well, I get back up there again. I'm having another good day, i put chicken breast in the crock pot over night with tomato sauce, vege broth, and veggies so i'm all set for a healthy dinner! My "daily plate" said i earned some extra cals for going on a run today, so i'm saving those for my skinny cow ice cream tonite while I watch HELLS KITCHEN!! I love that show :D
Hope you all are having a great, OP kinda day! LoL And I want to thank u all for your support and encouraging words!! This thread is getting so big, it's hard for me to reply to you all individually and not leave anyone out! I'll chat with you gals tomorrow! My internet is down @ home, so i won't be able to check in tonite.
OH, OH, OH .... Great News! My financial aid loan was approved so i'm going back to school! It's about time! 2 kids later ... but at least i'm gonna do it :carrot:
Have a good nite!

Hi chickies!
So I've been OP with my eating today, calories are actually lower than usual. I've yet to get my exercise in, I've been busy around here, but I'm getting ready to get on the treadmill.
FSA Thanks for explaining the abbreviations. I knew all of them except kwim and had been trying to figure that one out!
shasha I do the same thing with the weights, like lately I've been thinking when I get to 175 I'll start strength training again when I should be doing it right now. I guess I'm afraid of the water weight that might show on the scale at first.
I did do armweights the other day so that's a start. I'm planning also on starting pilates again soon.
Goodnight all!

Good evening ladies!!!!
Tummy~ Oh my hubby's been bored to death of my menu for years now! I'm only now getting creative in the kitchen and he's sometimes thrilled, other times irked--depends on how healthy it is ;). I made a new dish tonight that he was on the fence about--but I'll write about that later. :) Yeah, the c/section mishap was a bummer, but a cake walk compared to getting my staples removed after the girls--oh good gravy--I'd take a full body plucking over that agony any day of the week! It was absolutely horrific! And I'm not a wimp either, it was the longest hour and a half of my life! (yes, an hour and a half...*groan*) Hope you had fun in Edmonton!!! And congrats on the loss chickie! Have your scale call my scale and get him on board k? ;)
Ruth~ congrats on the loss! I bet the rest of it will be nothing but a memory tomorrow! :)
FSA~ Ahhh, swimming! I'd love to be able to swim laps! Alas, we have no pool :( Oh well, one day maybe I'll join a gym and swim there! :D Hope you had a great day girlie! :)
shasha~ weights are really not that hard--awkward at first, but after a few times you get the hang of it and it's easy peasy! On the exercise board there's lots of discussions about strength training with weights, you should check it out! Hope you were strong today in the face of Jack in the Box! Hubby loves that place, ahh, but there aren't any here and that brings him much sorrow. Not me though, that's just one less temptation for him to face! ;)
MsP~ What? You're just gunna do a fly by? *sniff* Okay, I guess...*sniff* ;) Hope you had a great day! Hopefully you can update us a little more tomorrow! :)
Mystical~ I bet once you get completely settled and get a chance to breathe you'll settle right back into your exercise routine. Moving is such a pain! So much to do...ack! As far as snacks for your hubby...hmm, does he happen to have room for a cooler in his truck? If so, the possibilities are endless! Wraps, yogurt, fruit, granola bars, boiled eggs, carrots/broccoli/celery (with or without peanut butter), nuts...what else? Cheese sticks, or better yet, Laughing Cow wedges (less fat), hummus...I'm running out of ideas, but with a cooler anything can get packed in there. :) Hopefully you can find snacks he'll eat. Hubby insisted I buy him yogurt and I did--he never, ever eats it when I put it in his lunch--ever! So, I told him he's not getting anymore because I'm tired of throwing it away (I'd eat it but he likes flavors I don't)!
NSM~ Aww, sorry to hear about your computer! Thank goodness you can still check in! (unlike our poor Jacqui :() Glad to hear you're getting back on track hun! Check in when you can and know that when you can't, we're still here cheering you on! :cheer:
Wifey~ Welcome back hun!!! I can't wait to see your Onederland post girlie!!! :)
Molly~ I'm sure you'll do just fine at the bbq--perhaps eat a healthy snack before the main food is set out? Drink lots of water before hand too to help fill you up. :) Have fun at the aquarium!!
Merose~ congrats for being OP!!! Sounds like you've got it planned out pretty well for work! I can only imagine how hard it would be to avoid snacking when working nights! Hang in there, you're doing great!!!
sotypical~ good for you hun! Sometimes if we set our goals too high, it backfires, so it's great that you recognized it wasn't working for you! Enjoy your family and have fun with your workouts!! :)
misspiggy~ mmm, that chicken dish sounds yummy! Congrats on the run and the financial aid!!! Awesome news!!! Keep up the great work hun! :)
khunter~ Great job this week! Keep us posted on your WI K? We want to hear the good news! :)
Well, chickies, I did it! I only drank 64oz of water! Well...okay, maybe 68 or maybe even 70...but I didn't drink my usual 128oz! I'm hoping that will help flush out this water I'm holding onto!
Decided to go ahead with the 30 Day Shred and got it done after the girls went to bed. It felt good to exercise again at the end of the day--guess I was kind of missing my night time workouts after all. ;) Not sure if I'll keep doing them so late though, might have to figure out a time in the afternoon...I don't' know, we'll see how stuff goes with the new schedule once school starts.
Tried a new recipe tonight!! Feta stuffed chicken! It was okay--I got the recipe from Cooking Light online and also from here somewhere (Not sure where, I Googled and it came up) and it called for Feta & fat free cream cheese--like I said, it was okay, a little tart and on the bland side as far as seasoning goes--but I can work with it. I'll maybe add sun dried tomatoes and fresh basil next time...MMM! Listen to me, talking like I know how to cook and stuff! :lol3: But here's what I'm most proud of with dinner tonight: The Veggies!!! Fresh from our garden zucchini, grape tomatoes (again with the tomatoes! Can you even believe it?) and fresh baby spinach, sauteed in a little Olive Oil spray and sprinkled with some Parmesan & herb seasoning--YUM-O!!! Hubby snubbed the tomatoes, but I ate every single one! I even took pics of it! I told you I was proud. :D I still can't believe I made it and actually ATE it!!! Me, a reformed veggie hater--who'd have thought?
Well girls, I'm just :blah::blah::blah: and I really should get ready for bed. My long ST'ing workout is tomorrow and I want to get up early so I can get it done before Em wakes up!
Hope everyone had a spectacular day and that you have a wonderful night! See you all tomorrow!!! Nighty-night! :)

crazymamaof4 Yes hubby has a cooler in his truck and he can turn it on to cooling or heating for whatever he has. The problem he has is that he gets busy and forgets to eat so he will go 6,8,10 hours without eating just depends on how long his day is. Somedays he doesn't get home until after midnight, I am trying to make sure I have enough food packed for him just in case he doesn't make it home for dinner. I told him to set his alarm on his cell phone to remind him to eat every 3-4 hours. That way he will keep his energy level up and not be starving at the end of the night....
As for me. The people that lived in the house before me had a cat and even though we have hardwood floors downstairs and they did steam clean the carpets upstairs they still didn't get all the cat fur out and I'm very, very allergic, so I have been feeling well since the move.... It's crazy if I don't take my meds then I can't breathe and if I do take them they put me to sleep.... I am vacuuming everyday and slowy but surely we are get the cat hair out.... I never knew cat hair could get stuck in carpet for so long.... LOL Gotta run for now have a great night ladies.

i too have been away a bit. my 10 y.o. son has either cellulitis is his leg, or lyme disease. When I started out I despised weight training...but the more I do it the more I enjoy it!!! Even a little bit every workout is better then nothing and it will build muscle and burn fat!!!

That would drive me insane!!! When I approach a house that has cats, I start to itch. I am very allergic. Fortunately my last 2 houses were new so I didn't have that problem. Ironically, growing up we had cats...but after I had been away from them for a few years, I acquired an allergy...Go figure!!! I'm more of a dog person anyway :)

Good morning Ladies!
Well, i come to confess, i didnt stay away from exercise yesterday, at 9pm, i felt bad, so i went for a a short 4km all straight up hill hike, then did 200 stairs, then came back home. But the best thing of my day, was we finnaly go results of my daughters blood work...she has a sever case of graves disease. She is so skiny and eating all the time, and has even became villont, but started meds yesterday, and they should kick in in about 1 to 2 weeks. Wich will be great for school...then once her thyroid is under control...we can work on colon problem...we think she also has crones...but i told her yesterday although she has alot wrong wiht her, its all controlled by meds and proper diet.
i was on plan perfect yesterday, and now heading for a run on the treadmill and step on the wii to weight myself, although i dont expect a big change.
have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies!!
Okay, first of all, Ang~ Hooray for a diagnosis! I mean, it stinks that she's got so many medical issues, but it's so wonderful they're all treatable with meds and diet!!! :celebrate: So glad you finally heard back from them, I'm sure it's a huge weight off of your shoulders! Great workout yesterday girlie!! Whew! I got tired just reading about it! ;)
Mystical~ ahh, he's one of those 'forgetful eaters' huh? Mine is the same way! He'll go all day without eating then on the way home he'll stop off for a giant soda and corn nuts or some such thing and well, that's not exactly healthy now is it? The cell phone reminder is a good one. I'm thinking if he has lots of small easy to grab snacks he'll be set--maybe something small every 2 hours? Bummer about the cat hair! I've btdt--I've also had rentals where there was dog hair everywhere--PU was it stinky! I had to scour my vacuum (thank goodness for removable, washable filters!) after living there! Blech! But at least I wasn't allergic! Have you tired using Fabreze allergen reducer? Maybe that would help some until all the hair is gone?
dcapulet~ Aww, poor guy! I hope the drs figure out what's wrong with him soon! I can understand how you're not OP with all that going on. Great job keeping up on the exercise though! The eating will right itself once things calm down I'm sure--just do your best and keep exercising! :) Keep us posted on your son too k?
FSA~ Yes, can you believe it? Me--the non cook! I'll see if I can dig up the recipe and post it later.
Delphi~ hey girlie! Awww, first day back to school...seems like only yesterday that they just got out for the Summer huh? Man, time flies so fast! Hope they have a great day and that you don't go too bananas with all the quiet! ;) Hey, out of curiosity--how many calories does your sensewear thingie (that's the one you have right?) say you burn during the C25K workout? Man, I wish I had one of those things! I would love to know how many calories I burn daily and I'm sure it would motivate me to keep moving! ;) Congrats on the new number chickie! :carrot:
Jacque~ you're so right! Every little bit helps! :)
Well ladies, I'm down just the smallest smidge--but I'll take it. I was really frustrated when I saw the scale this morning. So much so that I busted out my tape measure and started measuring--talk about nutso huh? However, I did see a little drop in my arms--that's when I stopped measuring. I realized that I was being a bit ridiculous and decided to workout and come to my senses.
So, after my bout with insanity I was eating breakfast and taking a look at my weight loss. I am still making excellent progress and even though I'm stalled out right now, I've still lost an average of over 2 lbs a week. That's nothing to sneeze at! So, I'm going to keep plugging along--Delphi style--and give Darth Scale the cold shoulder. He doesn't deserve my time! ;)
Well ladies, that's about it for me. I need to grab my water, get the dishes done, make a grocery list, write the mortgage checks and tons of other stuff so I will say good bye for now. :) Have a wonderful day and be sure to...
Drink Your Water!!!

Ang-How old is your poor daughter? She has a lot going on. How is she handling it? Way to get some activity in, btw!
I am getting usual "payday" stuff done today. I planned the next week's worth of meals and made the corresponding grocery list and after I'm done here, it's off to pay bills...fun stuff..NOT (okay I'm showing my age there)! I'm feeling good despite being up a pound from the weekend. I am ready to make the rest of the month count.
NSV time.....I went to Savers (Goodwill-type store) yesterday and tried on some 10's for winter. I could get them all on, which is a major victory, but let's just say I'm not quite a size 10 yet...can we say muffin top? I looked at them and thought, "There's no way I can get these on. They're so small." Yet, I got them all on and fastened them with no trouble. I musta tried on like 6 pair, too. I bought 2 pair of jeans that I liked the best and figured I can get more when I NEED to. My mom says I need to get my head wrapped around my new size because any time I see a smaller size, I can't believe it will fit me. Like I still think I need the size I used to wear when I'm just eyeing it up. Is that weird? It's probably fairly common when you've been a bigger size for a while, I guess.
So, on an un-weight-related note, we are hoping to build a house once we close on this house we're selling. So, we're contacting our builder today to get the ball rolling with that. I'm SO excited! We've got our plan picked out and adjusted to what we wanted, so now it's a matter of waiting to make sure our house closes without any glitches. To whoever asked before, YES we've had our house for sale for a LONG, LONG time, so this is such wonderful news for us. The end is in sight!

MsP ~ That's excellent news darling and probably some advice from your mom, we could all use. I know I'm guilty of it as well.
Sandye ~ Yeah, we are at that point where we just KNOW we are losing. Oh and my gowearfit, registers almost a 400 calorie burn on the day one of c25k. I weigh a lot more than you do to..but I'd say you are still getting one **** of a burn as well. Especially, as we get further in the program. I'll keep you up to speed on what I'm burning each session so you can get an idea as well. ;) I have a bathroom that needs my attention and I'm loathing it this morning, but the house is so darn quiet and I just mopped my floors so I'm kind of trapped in the livingroom at the moment. So when do you guys start back?
Ang ~ Good to hear the news. I've always said the waiting and not knowing are the worst part. At least now you can move forward.
Shasha ~ I LOVE strength training. It's probably my favorite. I just feel like wonder woman when I'm done. But I have a more structured program with the MFC, so it's actually like you have a personal trainer right there with ya. But I LOVE it.
NSM ~ I hope you get it fixed and get back to us soon. We will miss ya girly.
misspiggy ~ That's excellent news on the loan. :congrat:
ruth ~ Way to go on that OP day. :bravo: my dear.
Tummy ~ sweetie. How is your day going thus far? Did you guys have a good trip yesterday.
Merose ~ Sorry to hear about those nightshifts again. Just prepare for them, eating wise, and you should do just fine.
As for me, I'm waiting on the floor to dry so I can get something done around here. It's awfully quiet though. I miss my boys already. Got some walking in this morning while we were waiting on the bus and I should get ST in at noon. So I have the day planned out and ready to go. I hope you ladies are doing well.

MsP~ Oooh 10's!!!! Congratulations! Totally not weird at all--I do the same thing! I think it's a matter of accepting that we aren't the bigger girls we once were and embracing our and changing bodies! :) I don't have any size 10 jeans but I do have a couple shorts and capris that are 10s that fit (although I think they run a little big)--so I'm looking forward to shopping for some! :) Goodwill is the best place ever to shop while we're in transition, don't you think? :D
Delphi~ thanks for the info! GoWearFit--I need to start saving my pennies and maybe one day I'll be a cool chick like you and get one! :D The boys start back next Tuesday--lots to do between now and then...man, the house is going to be spooky quiet!! I got the dishes done and a grocery list partially made, but here I am...back again. I'm an addict I tell ya!
Okay, I'm really, really going this time...I don't want to, but I have to! Catch up with you chickies later!! :)

So, I'm going to keep plugging along--Delphi style--and give Darth Scale the cold shoulder. He doesn't deserve my time! ;)
Ya know, I have been really good all summer, well for at least about 6 weeks to not get on the scale everyday...and it's been great!! Well I weighed on Friday (as usual) and was up a little. I even changed my tracker with the 2 pound gain. Well I had been feeling bloated and yucky since then, but today I felt a little lighter. So I broke all the rules, and got on the scale. To my surprise, I lost a pound. Good thing, since I'm having a cookout this weekend. Plus TOM will start to lurke around starting next week. Going to change my ticker now!!!
That's VERY exciting!! Hope everything works out for you. I know I will need to start thinking about putting my house up for sale in the next year or 2...makes me nervous. I have been in my house for 18 years!!!

So I didn't end up working out yesterday. I had planned on it, but I had no apetite all day at work, I mean I was hardly able to eat anything. Then after work all of a sudden I started to feel a little weak/hungry. I grabbed some healthy groceries for dinner. I had a snack (some chicken, I was craving protein) and felt a lot better. Then my boyfriend came home as it was his first day of his new job. We caught up on the day and then started making dinner. I feel bummed about not working out, but I was actually a pound lighter today so yay for that!
Crazymamaof4:I haven't done the shred workout in ages, but I was always amazed that I was drenched in sweat by the end.
mystical:I have upped my water a lot and have immediatly noticed a change in my weight loss. Even if my weight doesn't go down as fast, I feel noticably lighter.
Newshinyme:Its a new month. Great time to get back on track.
dcapulet:Sorry to hear about your son, hope everything goes well.
Wifey:Wow! You are so close to the 100's. How exciting.

Shasha ~ Even without exercise we can lose weight. So don't feel too bad, but remember not to let yourself slide to often, or you just may quit altogether. I know I did a number of times before this last push.
Sandye ~ Hey, we can do that. As long as I'm not spending hours at a time on this thing I'm good. Plus getting up and down and doing this and that, has got to be good for ye ol' metabolism. So I was reading that there is a 10k training program after the 5k, so if all goes well...whaddya think dahhhhhhlin'?
Jacque ~ Don't sweat it. It's probably water and well, you know what it can be, and what it probably is, so just go with the flow and keep pushing on. ;)

Morning Ladies
FSA - I actually called my dh, "DH' to one of my friends yesterday darn abbreviations!
Shasha - When I lived in a bigger city, and I went to the gym I had issues with everything, like who does the fat girl think she is doing that treadmill or doing the weights beside this gigantic guy who grunts and sweats all over the place. I do them at home now b/c it's easier to fit into my stay at home mom schedule so I find that in the beginning it was so much easier with just me and the weights. After about two months maybe of doing them pretty consistently 3x a week I like it soo much better. I would still rather pound out an hour of cardio but it's getting better. Oddly enough now that I can see some of that hard earned definition I'm glad I started weights when I was still too heavy to see any.
MsP - WTG on the running chickie! I forgot to write that on the other thread. And a brand new house, how nice getting it just the way you want, congrats, and 10's! almost or not that's marvelous.
Mystical - How nice that your whole family can do this together, you learn so much about yourself and others while doing these changes and it's nice you can share that with each other. I like almonds, fruit, kashi tlc crackers (no funky hydrogentated crazy garbage ingredients, which for a cracker is rare!), wasa crackers, hummus, veggies. I believe those don't require refrigeration either. I think the alarm thing is a great idea. My dh likes those cup of soups that you can drink, he finds that he can sip it while driving or in the office, he's also all about the granola bars although finding a healthy one of those is challenging.
NSM - You are dedicated, on a laptop through the TV, that's awesome, LOL. If it's in your house and you shouldn't eat it throw it away, save yourself! Cravings are just cravings and they will go away, you can do it.
Wifey - You'll be there in no time, it just sneaks up on ya and then there you are!
MissMallee - I don't think I've said hi yet, so :wave:And yes it does move fast but jump in where you can and say howdy. Hope you have a wonderful time in the city!
Merose - Glad to hear you've got your groove back and what fun, a friend from down under!
Sotypical - It's great you've decided not to stress yourself out about the minutes, that wouldn't make this any fun at all.
MIsspiggy - Congrats on school! That's fantastic news! And doing so well otherwise too, you're rockin it.
Khunter - :crossed:that your scale shows your hard work.
Ruth - I meant to say if that's your dog, s(he)'s beautiful, I just love the puppies, awww.
Cmo4 - Staples?!? OMG americans are cruel! LOL Up here we do dissolving stiches that go away all by themselves. But then again they do leak sometimes. Tomatoes are wonderful, I'm gald you're coming around. I get freaky if I'm low on the red guys around here. Taste buds change, I never believed it before but I can eat some pretty crazy healthy things now and they taste great. It's a good thing too cuz if they tasted like they used to I'd be gagging all the time. Have fun shreding, if I could just borrow Jillian's abs for a day to try them out... You could always go with a heart rate monitor, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that Delphi's has but it tells you how hard you work, how fast you recover and how many calories you burn and it's cheaper! My other thought was maybe you're not eating enough calories, since you're getting close to your goal weight, from what I've read you have to eat at your BMR and just lose though exercise for the last 10-20 lbs and not calorie restriction. Hang in there!
Dcapulet - that's terrible, I hope things with ds turn out ok and take care of you so you can take care of him :)
Delphi - Look at you skinny mini! Rocking that 188 :carrot: That's you rocking it if you were a carrot! That would be weird, all quiet and lonesome but think of all that extra time for YOU! We had a wonderful, but long day yesterday, I think I needed MsP's mom's advice too, I actually pulled an 18 to try on, honestly, I think I went crazy for a minute there.
Ang - Thank goodness, an answer! wtg handling the stress of it all, and the exericse wow!
ja23 - :welcome:
Have I caught up, really, wow, what a feeling. And speaking of feelings, you know when you try on clothes at the store and they have to bring you smaller sizes three times! Now that's a feeling! So it turns out I'm a 14! who knew, but everything, minus a skirt (which was 15) was a 14 or a large, there was not one X anything bought yesterday! not XL, no XXL, nothing baby. But the best part was looking in the mirror and not seeing rolly bits, I mean I'm thicker than I intend to be but it's all smooth (in clothes, hehe) Soo I got lots of underwear, a new bra, 36 band, crazy talk! new pj's, a skirt, a pair of jeans, some new tank tops, four new shirts, a vest and a new pair of shoes (smaller size too!) It was liberating, first shopping trip in the regular ppl stores, there's so much more to choose from it was sort of overwhelming.
And just b/c, down another full pound this morning, 183 :carrot: How marevelously fantastic. I didn't get my p90x yesterday as it was 10:30p when we got home and everything was closed:( so off today to do that and some (more) groceries, i didn't do my menu up b/f we went shopping yesterday so I'm all bass akwards today and I don't have everything I need for the week. Busy busy, but at least I get to go to town looking like I'm not wearing someone else's clothes! TTFN.

Sotypical and Ja23, hi :welcome3: good to see you again sotypical, I will put you in the list following this post and will you be joining us in the ex. thread? ( I can post your minutes over there as well if you like).
Angel, I am glad that you got the test results back and your little girls condition/s are controlled w/ medication ...you must be releived. Congrats on a great day angel...keep on shining :) Your girl is absolutely adorable :) Give her a hello from me please.
dcapulet, know that we are here for you girl. Keep us posted ok?
Delphi, hope the boys have a great first day at school. Keep on shining
sasha, congratulationsssssss on the lb. lost :carrot::carrot::carrot:
Mystical, hope your allergies are better and the move is going well. Sure must be a busy time for you. Regarding DH snack ideas, crazymama covered a lot of ground there : ). I watch my b.p as well (tell u the story sometime but got it back to normal last I checked). I stopped adding salt altogether (until sea salt recently ). My dad can't needs to watch his salt intake (keep it within 2000 mg/day) and I helped mom and dad find low sodium products. In the meantime, I did the same as well and it really helped. Watch out for tomatoe sauce (some are loaded w/sodium) pastene ground peeled tomatoe sauce has no added salt and I love it. I add spices, etc. You may already know the drill, frozen and canned foods are typically high in sodium while fresh is always best. Ham, bacon, hot-dogs..very high in sodium. Cheeses are typically high. Condiments such as mayo, barbq. sauce, soy sauce (awful) are high. It was a battle getting dad to give up chinese food but we managed ;). Oh I am not sure if this is info you asked for ...I am a bit of a :blah::blah::blah: ;). Anyhow, hope this helps in some way. HOpe your having a great day :)
ruth, yw :) wtg on getting a workout in.
Sandye (crazymamaof4), that is great that your eating and liking tomatoes. We have some tomatoes growing on our deck and putting them in our salad, love them! Your starting to like them now? :) Ohhhh your zuchinni sounds dynamite girl. I love it on the grill, very thinly sliced and cooked well. It goes good with salad, etc. You just reminded me to do that sometime. That nice veggie salad you made sounds yummy too! wtg on trying new things chicky :) :carrot::carrot::carrot:
NSM, so great to see you back. Sorry to hear about your p.c. I hope you get it fixed okay. We miss you. Glad your getting settled in with the move and all. hug.
MsPerceptionnnnnnn, congrats on the 10's and on the house. OH I'm so happy for you. Keep us posted okay? :) hug.
khunter, wtg on an OP week :carrot::carrot::carrot: :) good luck with the WI, keep up the great work.
miss, congratsssssss on getting the financial aid and going back to school! wtg! :carrot::carrot::carrot: That is awesome news! :).
Mallee, I once read a trick about having a h.b egg before leaving the house to go to eat. THe protein helps fill us up and take the edge off. I agree w/crazymama regarding filling up on water,,, great idea! Sounds like you will be getting plenty of exercising walking at the docks, have fun :).
Oh boy, just saw the time...running late. Merose, Jacqui, and all of our other girls.......a big hello. Wishing everyone a great day.
I have much to do today. Dh is taking tomorrow and friday off. I have many chores to catch up with here. Need to get my workout in , clean, etc. Chat more soon. Have a great new day everyone. :) Sotypical and ja , I will update the list later this afternoon or tonight. Hugs

I still didn't even realize I was in the wrong thread until I read that! :dizzy:
But hey, while I am here... I don't typically set weight loss goals anymore because I don't lose very much - if at all. So I will just say, I would like to just lose some weight this month haha. Last Friday I weighed 174.4 - so I just hope by the end of month that it is less.

Tummy ~ That is fanflippintastic. I wish I had money to go shopping. It must be a great feeling. I'm so happy for you..too bad we all don't live closer so we could go revel in regular stores together. Though, I'm quite the character, you ladies would probably be tellin' people I forgot to take my medication or something. I'm so proud of you. Have I mentioned that? I just think it's a shame we are all a world apart. Wow, I get so behind in reading and I keep thinking I'm going to do more personals and then I get to responding and I've forgotten everything I was going to say... GAH!
Delphi - 400 calories on week1day1!!?? Really?? That's awesome I'm totally excited to hear that. I wish I had one of those things!
Tummy - OMG Shopping in "regular people" clothing stores is one of my goals. I'm so tired of shopping in what I've come to call "the tent shops". It either looks like a tent ON or it looks like a tent OFF but either way... it's a tent. Way to go you! I can't remember the last time there wasn't an X in front of a size! Yay!
cmo4 - In the past, I've always been frustrated when the scale never moved... and naturally I never measured. Thank goodness the people at Curves do it for me or I likely wouldn't have measured this time and I'd be sooo incredibly upset right now... the scale hasn't moved much for me, but I KNOW the inches have and so has my body fat percentage... Things are moving, just be patient!
As for me, I'm doing ok today. My sisters called and want to meet up for Lunch on Friday and that's all well and good except that they want to eat at Red Robin and I just KNOW my favorite burger there is absolutely no good for me. I hope they have nutrition information on their website so I can look up what to eat. I am NOT coming away with a 1500 calorie lunch!
Tomorrow I do my second day of week 1 of the c25k... the actual workout wasn't bad the first day but maaaan oh man have I been stiff/sore the past couple days. I need to look up some stretches and make sure I'm stretching everything out properly.
Hope everyone is doing great!

MsP Wonderful! Great to see not only the numbers going down on the scale, but the reflection on clothing size. I can't wait until I'm a size 10 again. I think thats my happy size.
Tummy Girl Yay no more X's in clothing for you anymore. Shopping for clothes will be fun again.

Morning!
I am going to attempt personals today, please bear with me if I type things that don't make much sense since I am basically typing "blind" right now :P
wifey: Welcome back!
merose: I think your strategy of bringing veggies and hummus to work sounds great! I know exactly what you mean about feeling like you need the food when you have to be up at weird hours.
Sotypical: Exercise would probably be counterproductive if it causes you more stress than good me thinks, so good for you!
Misspiggy: HOpe you feel better soon. What are you going back to school for? That's one of my future plans as well :D
Sandye: You are adding the 30 DS on top of all your other workouts? Wow woman, you are insane, but in a good way :D. The idea of feta stuffed chicken sounded good to me, to bad it didn't turn out as good as it sounded, but I think you are on the right track for making in tastier next time. You were a veggie hater? Who would've thunk? So sorry to hear the scale is still not cooperating with you...OH...did I ever answer your grill question? I have the Cusinart with the removable plates. Previously I owned a different grill with non-removable plates but the cleaning was too much of a hassle (so much so that I actually avoided using it much).
mystical: Sorry to hear your new house is giving you grief :( Hopefully you'll get all the cat hair out of there really soon.
dcapulet: Hope your DS gets better soon!
Ang: So glad to hear that your DD has been diagnosed, Graves disease is well managed with thyroid medication. Congrats on managing to exercise and eat OP through it all too.
Ms.P: Congrats on the size 10's. I think your mom is right, I still think my size 12 pants look way to small and I am always amazed that they actually fit me when I put them on. Minds are a strange thing.
Oh, congrats on the house being close to sold. I bet you can't wait to have your own place once again.
Delphi: LOL at being stuck in the living room. I know you don't mind working out with your kids around, but if it was me, I would take advantage of the fact that now I can workout in peace ;)
shasha: I am going to just say what everyone else has already said. Strength training is the best. I actually don't like cardio much but I love ST. Just like Delphi, I also feel like Wonder Woman once I've finished. And I love seeing my muscles getting stronger (not much but they are :D)
Tummy: LOL at calling DH "DH".
Yeah, I am lucky that I don't have much junk in the house, so even with all the cravings there's not much I can do about it :dizzy:
:woohoo: on the panties girl! YOU ARE A SIZE 14!!!!! Congrats!!!
FSA: So funny, I was reading your post like I was in a rush just like you. Hope you get lots done today.
BRB...posting this and then continuing...

At any rate, nice to meet you
jeannep: Welcome! it's never too late to join
hello to everyone else! where's Sandye's mom??
As for me. I actually ate well yesterday. A bit more than I should but not by much, and it definitely felt much better to be eating right for a change :D
Sandye's post just inspired me and I think I am going to give the 30 DS a try today. I hope I don't die, I own it but I've always been to afraid to try it LOL.

I'm so glad I get to join your thread. I had been posting regularly and then was doing really well and decided I didn't need the accountability. Big mistake!
I've backslid almost to my starting weight. :-(
During the month of August I will go back to the gym I was going 5 days/week for about the past year but haven't been at all in the past 6-8 weeks. I will also get back into the 170s (current 182).
Thanks for being there for me, everyone and for giving me the opportunity to be there for you!
