ALICIA 87 Weight loss is such a personal thing it depends on ones body .. and wheaeter or not you are ready only you know if you have watch the infomercial you can see it is not easy and if you have read through very many of the pages of this thread you will get a feel for the program.
I do a DOUBLES program meaning I do Insanity and a weight program everyday CHALENE but I have a history of working out several hours a day and did 3 rounds of p90x. AND I WILL SAY ITS NOT EASY! BUT IF YOU FEEL READY GO FOR IT!

MJKIDDO Good for you on pushin through I never trust those things to give the right calorie burn anyways!!!I did PLYO CIRCUIT again today and had to say to myself remember NO CRYBABIES that one always kills me I THINK HE DOES IT 2 times the first week so if people are going to quit the do it the first week!!!!

I got mine a few days ago and watched a little bit of it. I think I am going to hold off on Insanity for now. I was pretty fit up until several months ago...I have plantar fasciitis and tendonitis now. I am going to get myself good and healed before I jump into this. June 1 is my start date. For now I will be doing Slim in 6.

I did it 3 days this week. I plan to start back in tomorrow.

I am heading to the beach with some girlfriends on Wed.-Sun. so won't start in full force until I get back.

I am amazed how much I have improved in just one week!! I did Pure Cardio today for the second time and the difference was very impressive. Of course I still got really tired and had to stop a few times but.. I didn't hit pause once! I was able to recover quickly and get back to the exercises so much faster! I am so proud of myself! :)

Hi you guys

can a girl from Croatia join you? :)

I ve started with Insanity two days ago, and WOW it is really insane :D
I am 1,85 cm (taaallll girl :)) and have 81 kg
Looks like to much, but i am actually very lean, without real muscles though :(
so i decided to get myself back in shape and to have a lean, ripped and strong body as a result (with 10kg less). To ambicious? :dizzy:
however, i was deeply dissapointed with my Fit test results and that gave me even more motivation.

Sooo Sunday was my first day and at the end i was literally on my knees sweating like crazy and catching breath.. but wow it felt great!
yesterday my second day - it was even harder due to the fact i had some seriously sore muscles
and today i am looking forward to a recovery cardio :)

my little trick is to watch a video for tomorrow, a day before - so i could prepare myself better and so i wouldnt lose to much time getting in needed position and stuff

so, i will keep on informing you of my progress and this will be my little workout diary :o

(sorry if I had some grammar mistakes - i am not a native speaker)

Hi all,

So - I'm in my last week of Insanity!!! Yay!!! I cannot wait for it to be finished - I must say I am ready!!!! I ended up sort of blowing off a week a couple of weeks ago, so I had to start that week again. Hence I am finishing a week later than scheduled. But it is all good - I am super proud to be nearly done!!

I just Started Insanity on Monday and it is hard!! woo! after its over i want to just crawl into my bed and cry.. lol jk But i am really stoked to be doing this program. I am so sore though. At least i know what parts of my body i'm working out. I am so motivated to do this. I have a ton of weight to loose but i plan on doing insanity over and over until i'm at my goal weight. 222 to 145 is where i want to be. My only question is why have i gained almost 2 pounds in the first two days of working out. Its a real let down when i gain weight when i want to loose it.

Your muscles retain water it will disapper...DO drink alot of water it helps flush it through also cut extra salt out of your diet. JUST ENJOY THE ride there will be ups and downs alond your journey.
I drink about 1 GALLON on the workouts that he gives us time to drink on the days he doesn't I manage to get about half that amount in...and thats just during the workout.
PS I don't sweat!

Plyo Cardio Circuit is the hardest one for me... even harder than Pure Cardio. I have to stop much more and it kills my legs! They are in pain! And I love it! :)

MUkiddo I agree plyo is the hardest and that includes the month two I dont know exactlly why I think its thhe combo of the basketball jumps and down into the pushups then the runs and then the ski abs and then the in and outs I have to stop and take breaths starting the second time trough on the in and out EVERyTIME and it makes me sooo mad I say"this time I won't" and I am just dying!! But like you I just love it. today i have to try and do 2 Insanity workouts and one Chalene at least its a PUSH 3 day and a RECOVERY haven't looked {scared to to see what my other Insanity needs to be {AT LEAST ITS NOT PLYO that was yesterday!!!!!} I had Migraines for several days and had to take 1 forced day off WHICH I NEVER DO!

In my mind I was like: "You're not gonna stop the next time around" but that's just impossible. But at least I rewind the video to where I stopped and try to do it again.. so I try really hard no to cheat (and I don't).

I tried once to do Turbo Jam with a massive migraine with the hope that the exercise would make it go away, but then my vision was getting darker and I felt really bad. It was horrible.

I'm on to the 2nd half of the insanity (max workouts) and I have to say I hate it. I was suppose to do the plyo circuit workout last night but couldn't get the motivation to attempt it. I ended up starting my ChaLene program which I really liked.
I think I'm going to have to mix it up a bit because I know I wont do Insanity everyday.

Mukiddo Sometimes I can work through the migraines and sometimes not! On my workout i stop for a quick breath and jump back in might muss like one or two reps of the in and outs or ski abs BUT ITS A KILLER

Sharpest Month 2 does have the dread factor for sure YOU GOTTA WANNA Do IT BAD! I do both Chalean and Insanity everyday and I know on the MONTH 2 it was more of an effort. I don't know if its they are just that much longer or if they are harder I couldn't figure it out though I thought it would be easier to go back to MONTH 1 on my second ROUND ITS NOT you try harder and are faster SO GO FIGURER!

By the way I did do my BURN 3 AND CARDIO POWER RESISTANCE AND CARDIO RECOVERY AND !% MIN STRETCH TODAY to make up for my MIGRAINE day so I am back on target!

I've been suffering from the worst menstrual cramps in a looong time. I lost 3 workout days this week and I am really upset about it. I think that I'll skip those days that I lost and begin a new week as usual (my 3rd week was supposed to star today). To compensate, I'll add a 5th week. My only doubt is: should I add this extra week at the end of the first month or at the end of 60 days? I'm fine with both options.

I just started insanity last week. I made it all the way through the first week, but I struggled through it so much, that I wasn't quite satisfied. So I started over again this week, but instead of doing the Fit Test today, I did Pure Cardio. The sweat felt great dripping off me! And I fared much better than I did last week! Woo hoo!! Is there an Insanity results thread? or are results scattered throughout this thread?

I decided to add the extra week at the end of the first month. TURBO FIRE is gonna came out on June and I just can't wait to do it!!!

And I want to make that I'll have the time to compensate for those days that I lost. It's the third day that I've missed a workout (ever since I started ChaLEAN on January I have never spend so many days without doing anything - I neves missed a workout actually) and I feel terrible. My cramps are still here, still hurts a lot and I get some headaches with the combo. I just can't exercise like this... I feel week and I can't give my best.

I miss Shaun T. I really like him. It's just like Chalene, I wanna hug them and thank them for everything. :)

I SO agree about the dread factor in month 2. I don't know what happens - i was SOOOOO dedicated the first month but it has taken everything in me to complete this second month. I ended up taking a week off in the middle, and this final week has ended up stretching over 2 weeks!!! Part of that was because I hurt myself and couldn't work out for a few days. But anyway, I will be done Insanity on Friday, and I start Chalean Extreme on Sunday. I am ready to move on. I can see myself coming back to Insanity at some point, but for now I am ready to be done!!!!!

I think it must be the longer workouts and its getting a bit boring IMO. I have a really busy lifestyle so I need to fit in a workout that is maximum effort in minimal time AND keeps me motivated with variety. I'm going to try finish it even if I do every 2nd day withChaLean or a general cardio exercise session because I do think its getting me great results.
I'm doing one tonight as I havent done anything for 3 days:o, just too busy

Hey, I started the program about 2 weeks ago, I got too sore to continue, and my weekends are usually really packed, so i had to start al over this week, but in all I did most of the 2 weeks and have only lost 1lb. I see the videos and all the blogs on how you lose so much weight, I sweat like crazy and nothing. Is that normal?

On my third week of Insanity, I only worked out 3 times. I've had a lot of problems with my mentrual cramps this month and suffered with migranes. :/ I'm not too worried about it because I added an extra week (so I'm having a fifth week before the Recovery Week).

Oh! And my total weight loss so far is of 26 pounds!!!! 9 pounds since I started INSANITY! I am so happy!

Hello all, my hubby and I are at the end of the 2nd week of month two...so a little over 2 weeks to go to finish. The experience has been good and our endurance seems to be getting much better. Although it's a little harder to get motivated this month sometimes...mostly because the work-outs are longer, getting repetitive, and we are not losing ANY weight. It's very frustrating when you sweat like a fiend, are laying on the floor out of breath at the end of each interval, and nothing shows on the scales after 6 or 7 weeks of this. I am exactly where I was at the start. I can see why the other poster worked out like 4 hours a day with other stuff, she had to to lose weight. We are thinking of adding in some running at night or something, but it's hard to find time without being exhausted at the end of the day from work, kids, house, life! I will probably finish this and then start over, but mix in more running and other stuff so I don't get bored with it.

32 smasher I totally agree with your assesment of month 2 it does feel like the first day and it does seem like I needed rests which surprized me by the end I was doing less , but it takes alot out of you,KMMMS kinda says the same things also it tires you out and the work outs are onger but dang you just KEEP DIGGING DEEPER it always made me feel llike I was doing enough!

I am in the middle of a major move and trying hard to fit in my work out and eating right not easy and I DON"T like it I like ROUTINE!!!!

Miss Kelly...In some of Beachbody writings on INSANITY it says to do Cardio Core and Balance {which you will find in your dvds } to help you get more strengthfor a week or two. It is the dvd you do during Recovery week IT IS by no means easy but it may be do able for you and help you gain some strength it goes at a slower pace and builds up. Also you could do Cardio core recovery. Then maybe after a few weeks you could try the fit test.

I'm having big motivational problems. Since last Thursday I haven't worked out. I just don't want to do it. I mean, I love Shaun T, but I'm having a hard time staying motivated (witch is weird, since I've already lost more than 20 pounds on the last 4 months - my body is supposed to be my biggest motivation).

I'm still counting calories though, having at least a caloric deficit of 3500 a week. But oh... I just had to share this with you guys. I will have to add up another week to Insanity... 6th week on the first month. I feel like a failure.

I'm hearing you! I have less motivation to do the workouts as well, so I have cut down to 3 a week. I do other exercise routines the other 3 days. I think the biggest problem with insanity is the fitness involved (well for me anyway). Does anyone wear a HRM? I got one and used it the other night and was surprised to see I only did 28% in the fat burn mode, the rest was fitness mode. When I read the manual it said for weight loss (fat burn calories) you needed to spend over 30% in this zone :?: The fitness aparently burns carbs which is why sometimes I just dont have the energy to do a full on workout to insanity sometimes as I too have a calorie deficit. I read that an overall high total calorie is the best result but there seems to be a real science to it. Since I have limited my insanity workouts and added other routines I have lost more weight (in measurements) and I have more energy so I think I will stick to that. Its going to take me a while to finish the program I think:D

I am currently on week 6 of the Insanity program.... it truly IS INSANE! If you are not fit enough, you absolutely CAN injure yourself if you are not super careful. You can also definitely go at your own pace though. When I started out, I did not do as much as everyone else on the DVDs do. I didn't follow them exactly. I just did as much of each section as I could, and would stop for more water breaks than they do. Now that I'm on week 6, I am MUCH stronger, and my endurance level has gone way up! I love that!! I can do a lot more than I could 6 weeks ago... that's for sure! I've also lost 2 inches off my waist! I love that even more! I recommend it for sure - juse make sure you start out going at your own pace. They have a 30-day guarantee too, so you can send it back if you don't like it, or if you injure yourself. Oh yea - I also wear a knee brace on one of my knees to make sure I don't injure it because it's weaker than the other one & there is a lot of plyo (jumping).

Good luck!!

I think I will try Zumba next. I've been really in the mood to dance lately & it looks like so much fun!

So I am not currently doing Insanity as my "core" program, my main program is ChaLean Extreme right now. But back in February I did this program for a month and it kicked my butt. I went all out and gave it all I had then just died after the first month haha. I was so out of shape, I should have taken it a little slower so I didn't burn myself out. I took a month & a half break after that then started it up again but as soon as I received CLX I switched that to my main program because I just have also favored weight training.

Anyway, I mix in Insanity on my days off which is working great - I love all of the sweat that I get from Shaun T - but I also was getting bored of how repetitive his workouts could feel. I guess I'm just not one for ONE routine so now I mix a bunch together :) It makes for fun working out.

Right now I am mainly using CLX but I mix in - Insanity, Turbo Jam, 10 Minute Trainer, some Jillian vids, and a few from Shaun T's Rockin body (mainly abs). I can't wait to add TurboFire into the mix haha :)

Anyone else mix a bunch together? Or do you just stick to one at a time?

I mix and match too. I've never done Insanity all the way through (at my weight, it's still too hard on my joints to do every day), but I love it enough to incorporate it into my rotation at least once (usually twice) a week.

I'm planning on starting CLX beginning in July and I'm really, really going to try to stick that program through from start to finish. My problem is I get bored doing the same workouts (or even same instructors) every day. Since CLX is only a 5 day/week rotation and I need to add cardio to it for maximum results anyway, I'm hoping my add-ons for cardio will be enough to keep me from getting too bored an in a rut.

How are you liking CLX? I'm excited to start.

I am really loving CLX - I like the different workouts she does for the thighs, because it usually takes a ton for me to actually get sore in that area, but with her weight training videos my thighs are constantly sore!

The only thing I find lacking in that routine is cardio - so I do a lot of extra cardio on other days, such as Turbo Jam & Insanity. I'm excited for June to see how Turbo Fire is compared to Insanity (it's female version basically, so I hear)

MJKiddo don't feel like a failure - you are not the only one who has lost motivation when it comes to Insanity. I've heard this so much, even from real exercise fiends. I read a blog about this guy - who was in pretty good shape, and he ended up just plain stopping somewhere in month 2. just couldn't get himself to do it. It took a LOT for me to finish it, and I didn't even really do the last week properly. So instead of 9 weeks, I took 12 to do the whole thing, and never quite finished the last week. And since I stopped, I have had a tough time getting into a routine with exercise again. Today is Day 1 for me once again and hopefully I will stay in the routine. The thing with Insanity is that it is TOUGH. and it is hard to motivate to put yourself through that every single day. So don't be too hard on yourself. It may make sense to work in a couple of other workouts so that you are at least doing something. We are all in the same boat - it is tough - and you are not the person who has felt like this - and you are definitely not a failure.

**Raises hand** I made it to the third week of following the Insanity protocol, but all the plyo was killing my hip joints (oddly enough, my knees felt ok), so I've been rotating it with lower-impact videos.
I love it--I greatly prefer non-dancy workouts and anything that gives good cardio utilizing sports drills is right up my alley. And Insanity definitely delivers on that. Obviously, at my size I can't keep up with Shaun T, but I still get a great workout. Some of the moves I have to modify, but there hasn't been anything that I felt I couldn't do (of course I haven't tried any of the month two workouts).
All in all, it's one of my favorites. I wouldn't recommend it to a seriously obese person who is just starting to exercise, but if you've been working out and active and are looking for a challenge, I'd say go for it. Just be prepared to modify moves if necessary.
Hope that helps!

Hey everyone :)
Any one seriously overweight doing Insanity? I am 5'6 and weigh 230. Anyone in the same boat? How are you all doing?

I know it looks like a less repetitive version of Insanity. Not sure how the intensity will compare but TurboFire looks pretty intense from its infomercial. Definitely can't wait to try it!

Yeah, from everything I've ready and from previewing the workouts, I think added cardio is definitely necessary.

Oh, I hadn't heard of Turbo Fire--thanks for the head's up! I just googled it and it looks good!

hi everyone.. just started the insanity program today.. i have been dieting only for about 6 weeks now and lost about 10 lbs. a friend of mine purchased insanity and started on the second set, so im just now beginning it. did the first fit test today and i thought i was going to physically get sick. my thighs and calves are on fire right now. not looking forward to the week to come of sore muscles.. but as many have prevously said the soreness goes away by the end of the first week. hopefully this thread will keep me motivated.

I haven't seen the infomercial yet--I'm going to have to keep an eye out for it. It's funny, one of the things I loved about Insanity when I first started it was that it had enough variety to each workout that I didn't get bored and now I, too, think of it as repetitive! I guess that's true of any workout program though. Luckily my workout library is now big enough that I have plenty of variety :) Of course, I'm now addicted to home workouts (I used to be very resistance to it--had a mental image of leg warmers and jazzercize that didn't seem appealing to me), so it'll keep growing.

Hahah yeah, until recently (when I moved to the middle of no-where due to my husband being in the military) I was against workout videos and always went to the gym. But I started out of convenience and now I am also addicted!

You can go to youtube and just enter turbofire or turbo fire with a space and find the infomercial :) Let me know what you think! I think I'm going to love it because it has the Intensity I got from Insanity but the fun I get from Turbo Jam.

I was the same way--but I'll happily eat crow since I get a much better all-around workout at home than I ever did at the gym (mostly because I would stick to the same routines at the gym).

Ok, so Turbofire is definitely on my must-have list in 2010. I looks similar in intensity to Insanity but with more kickboxing interspersed with the plyo and sports drills (I love kickboxing, so this is great for me). Excited!

just finished with the 2nd day and struggled so much with the plyo dvd. had to take several breaks and couldnt keep up with them in the dvd or even get through it all the way. felt like i was going to get sick again.. very discouraging. had sweat pouring off me and drank so much water.. still sore from the fit test yesterday in my upper thighs and calves, so it hurt to do several of the exercises.. i feel like a big baby writing all of this, but this program is no joke. hopefully tomorrow the cardio power wont discourage me as much... any one out there with any words of encouragement? i could sure use them

It's a HARD program...but...the main premise is to do as much as YOU can. Yes, it's going to make you sore. Yes, it'll be discouraging at times if you can't do some of the moves. But the main thing to remember is you're not competing with the folks on tv--if you can't go as fast as they can or do as many reps as they can, that's ok. Also, it's perfectly acceptable to modify moves to suit your body's capabilities. Personally, I have a hard time with jumping jacks--the motion really hurts my hip joints. So I modify those to a lower impact version. Same thing for some of the jumps--for example, after doing a couple reps of globe jumps I physically cannot go as deep and have any hope of elevating into a jump..so, I don't go as deep into the squat and I don't touch the floor on the last few reps. That's my concession to my body. I'm keeping my body in alignment and being safe form-wise and I'm keeping my cardio up...that's the important thing.
Also remember that it's perfectly ok to take breaks..same thing with any fitness program..just do as much as you can and you will get better. Over time, you'll be able to do more reps and do them with more speed. Just be patient with your self, trust your body, push yourself but also know your own limitations.
And, if you find you can't do the full rotation each week, do what I eventually did--rotate Insanity workouts with lower impact workouts til you get to the point where you CAN do them everyday. That's ok too :)
Hope that helps!

thanks that helped a lot! i think its discouraging because i am doing it alone in my own living room. when i give up on myself i stop and thats that. i dont have anyone physically there to push me.

Denise24
05-25-2010, 03:57 PM
Yes it is very easy to stop when you are by yourself. When I was doing Insanity and I know I needed to take a break I would give myself a time limit - whether it be 30 seconds to a minute. That would allow me to catch my breath and by counting down I KNEW I was going to keep going. Maybe something like that will help you keep going :)

Trust me - give it a week or two - it does get easier and you will be amazed at how much more you can do in a small time frame! :D

After a week of rest (I was sick and bored) I am restarting Insanity today with the Cardio Core & Balance Week.

I really love this program and I love the reaction I get when I say I'm doing it: "OMG, you're doing Insanity? Awesome!"

Wish me luck for the second month.. I am kind of scared for it.

Well I just did Plyometric Cardio today and it kicked my arse!!! Literally! I forgot how good it feels to do Insanity and how accomplished you feel afterwards! :carrot:

I'm pretty sure today made me realize I can't take Insanity out of my routines! I am going to add it back in at least twice a week now! I am starting to look thinner but after todays workout, I feel just as out of shape as when I started hahahaha! How does he do that?!

Alright, I'm on Day two but I haven't done my fit test either so I'm hoping to get that done today sometime. I know the DVD is do-able and I'm not in as good of shape as I'm use to and can completely tell. The last 15-20 mins are absolutely insain. Does anyone have any tips on getting through it? I didn't pause it at all yesterday but today I had to and still have the last 18 mins to do still. I'm going to finish it in a second but needed a break! Anyways, I'd love to hear some tips or advice anyone has on it who has gone through the 60-day program! :) Also, do you think it's bad I pause it completely and come back to it later on? Or should I just try and push through it even if I'm taking way more breaks than usual? Thanks!!

I'm going to try and keep posting about my experience as I go through the program each day/week. My first tip that I can already see is to make sure you have water next to you before you start!!

My advice would be to just stop for a second or two have a drink of water and jump back in if I read it right you said you are in shape you should just get stronger YOU need tiny breaks EVEN in the second round because you just PUSH harder as he says DIG DEEPER!

Almost all the exercise used in the Insanity tape are the one I used when playing football, basketball, baseball and there great. My wife ordered the DVD's and they are awesome, I have seen an awesome change she's looking better than some thrity year old and she is fifty year old hotty. I wish I could work out with her, but due to second knee surgery most of the exercise are to strenuous on my knee. But about the DVD's they really work as long as you put the effort, good luck.:dizzy:

I'm doing a hybrid with Insanity because I am WAY too out of shape to jump in and go full blast. But I'm loving it either way because it's just the extra push I need sometimes. Plus it doesn't hurt that you can see everyone in the videos at some point looks like they are about to die but they push through.

Hi, all! i am new to this site but wanted to post a reply to those who wanted to know if insanity worked as well as shawn t says it does. I just completed round 1 of insanity yesterday and can say that it does all it says and then some! i have totally transformed my body to where i want it to be. it is the hardest workout ever put on dvd for very good reasons and if you get it be prepared to dig deep and push yourself to the limits. i can promise you if you do this you will love the results. the nutrition plan that comes with it is easy to follow also! if you do insanity get the results and recovery formula to help your body repair itself after every workout and you will be less sore the next day to tackle it one more time.:D i am now going to start hip hop abs with insanity for round two of more max interval training and muscle confusion!! good luck to everyone starting it!!

I didn't finish P90x because the workouts were long, hard and boring. They were good workouts though if I were in better shape to start I would have enjoyed them more. I'm picking up Insanity tonight, I'm stoked about not needing any equipment, seeing results in 60 days vs 90, and I think the cardio aspect will help me be in better shape when I'm ready for P90. The good things I've seen in the Beachbody workouts is you don't have to do exactly what they are doing you work your way up, but you have to stick to it long enough to see. There's also a new Turbo Fire workout thats music/kickboxing/cardio that women seem to like more but I'm not that coordinated.

Ok ladies. I am new to the whole forum and bloging thing. But after taking a late nap yesterday, I found myself up to 3 am and seen the insanity infomercial. I immediately search for reviews and came across this blog. After reading all the post and talking to my husband, we have decided to start insanity. We are now waiting on delivery. I don't know whether or not be excited or very very scared. I have never been on any kind of excersie program and this might seem extreme but I am highly motivated in other aspect of my life. Why should being healthy be any different? With that though, I am eagerly waiting to start.

So here were my fit test results after country practice (first # is from fit test 1):

Switch kicks: 54/63
Power jacks: 50/55 (legs are soooooo dead!)
Power knees: 71/90 (yay!!!!)
Power jumps: 31/32 (I swear my legs would NOT move for these better next time!)
Globe jumps: 8/11 (woohoo!)
Suicide jumps: 13/20
Push up jacks: 18/23
Low plank oblique: 63

Just have to keep after it but I know I'll sleep well tonight lol!

Hi all! I've been reading a lot in this forum and I decided to give in and sign up! I am currently doing WW and Insanity. I am on week 2 day 4. I have been eating all of my points and having a protein shake after each workout to get cover the activity points I earn from doing insanity. Last week I gained 2 lbs. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed since I went from virtually no exercise to INSANITY! I'll keep you all updated, hopefully I won't gain again this week!!!

I weighed myself this morning just to see if the extra two lbs I put on last week has disappeared, looks like about 1/2 a lb gone, but that's not much considering I though doing Insanity would SPEED up losing these last 15 lbs, not slow it down! FRUSTRATING! I didn't see any change in inches either, so I am going to go out today and get a new pair of "goal" pants so I have another way to measure if I am making progress. Am I the only person that is NOT losing weight with insanity?!?

These workouts have seemed harder in week two, did anyone else feel that way? I think it was be because I have better form and I am paying more attention to how I am doing to exercises. I realized that I have done push-ups wrong my whole life so my husband is helping me fix my form on those.

Days 9 and 10 today (Plyometrics followed by Recovery). I took Friday off because my shin and knee were aching, and yesterday I just ran out of time...so I did two today. I'm hoping to stay on track with it from here on out, but I can't ignore my body if it's hurting! My wonderful fiance did get me some of the puzzle piece looking floor mats to lay over my area rug and concrete floor. It seems to be helping :)

I've been fluctuating with weight...but I think a lot of it is because of my diet. It eat relatively healthy but give myself too many cheat moments. I have noticed I've been losing inches, but not pounds...so I'm happy to at least see some results.

I'm just getting into week too, but the plyometrics and pure cardio seemed harder the second time around. I did plyometrics today after two days off and it seemed a lot easier to get by. It seems like going the 6 days straight is rougher because your muscles get so tight and sore, which makes it harder...but after a while I think it will start to get easier.

Keep us posted on your progress!!

Hey everyone,

Well, I still haven't lost the 2 lbs I gained after my first week on Insanity. I did fit test 2 today, here are the results!

Switch Kicks: 40/44
Power Jacks: 42/52
Power Knees: 69/80!
Power Jumps: 20/29
Globe Jumps: 6/9
Suicide Jumps: 7/10
Push-up Jacks: 9/20
Low Plank Oblique: 21/28

No change in measurements at all!

The only change I can see is more definition in my upper body, mostly shoulders and upper arms. I am going to stick with it, but it's discouraging to be eating right using weight watchers, and doing insanity and seeing virtually no results. I saw about 1-3 lb loss each week with WW alone so I am hoping this weight gain is only because my body has temporarily gone INSANE!

Hi all,

So I was doing the Insanity workouts for about a month (though really I got through the first three weeks) and fell off... mainly because I got bored (believe it or not)! I can get bored when I know exactly what moves to expect. I can say, however, that my level of fitness has gone up dramatically and my inches have gone down (though I've more or less maintained in weight). Also, most notably, I regained my balance through the workouts. Focusing on your core is KEY.

Since falling off Insanity I was looking around for different workouts to add to the routine - a difficult task because most of the workouts out there do not stand up to Insanity! Starting today I'll be restarting with week 4 of the challenge, but only working 3 to 4x a week with Insanity, and other workouts on the other two days. I have also been doing Insanity with WW, and I'd say as long as you are truly working both programs, it works well together!! Just be careful and make sure you are getting those 5 fruits and veggies (more veg than fruit) a day. I HIGHLY recommend investing in some sort of recovery formula to drink after the workouts - helps keep your hunger stable throughout the day.

Now that I'm back at it I look forward to sharing war stories with you all (this thread was so quiet when I first posted...)
:goodvibes

Lazyerin - So you are not alone in the not-losing weight situation when it comes to Insanity and WW. For me, I know it is the result of giving into cravings for carbs (natural when doing something as intense as Insanity) and not eating enough of the right kind of carbs (cakes and cookies = wrong. carrots and broccoli = right!) During my Insanity break I took an honest assessment of what I was really eating and saw that I wasnt really working WW like I should have been. I have learned, however, that the scale is usually the last place to look for a real indication of progress when it comes to getting healthier and more fit. I weigh in daily as a way of keeping motivated (it's my "anchor" in WW lingo) but I don't get bogged down if the number on the scale goes up...I don't get down, but the number on the scale eventually will!

All you can do is your best, you know? If there's something you could be doing better with WW or Insanity (is there?) then try changing it up and see what happens. If you need support through this, I'm here! :)

I'm doing my second fit test tonight after we take my dog to class! I've been kinda slacking the last few days...but I'm ready to get back on it!

I've been weighing myself consistently and have finally started to see some weight loss the last few days. I've been under 145 for a few days now and fluctuating between 143 and 141. It may just take some time for your body to adjust to the workouts and your muscles to release some of that water. I noticed I'm not getting as sore anymore, especially in my calves.

Here's to week 3! Keep on being insane! :dizzy:

All right so dog class ran a little over on Friday...and then this weekend was full of house work and yard work...so I did the fit test today. I forced myself to do at least what I did the first week for some of the exercises...but I did better on a few of them. I'm ready to dive into week three full speed ahead!! :carrot:

Thanks Tricia! I've been going strong for 3 days straight. Today was Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs, yesterday was Plyometrics, and tomorrow is the Cardio recovery. I'm making it my goal to stick to the exact program days without extra rest days...so we'll see! I am seeing and feeling a difference. My calves aren't sore anymore, I'm taking fewer breaks, and I'm doing more reps. It is making me curious about month 2, and also how my last fit test will be :) This is the longest I've stuck with a program so I am pretty excited. My diet has improved the last week too. I'm just so excited! :woohoo:

I hope everyone else doing Insanity is keeping with it and also seeing results! How's everyone's progress?

I'm worried that I'm too heavy to do insanity even though I have the DVD's? Anyone do insanity right out of the box with no previous workouts like p90x?

I have never been a workout person... other than walking and I started INSANITY with no previous workouts... I actually started it a month ago but wasn't eating balanced so at the 2 week mark I started over. I have been doing it combined with diet for 16 days now.

Hey Guys, just finished day 3 ...I know big deal right? Anyway, It is like many of you said.... INSANE. However, I decided. Now it's time to commit and I know I'll eventually succeed. I'm in PAIN people! Can hardly walk, but my will to no longer be overweight outweighs whatever would try to discourage me to stop. I lost 30lbs before and gained it all back from being lazy and not making working out a lifestyle, but a seasonal thing. I'm not trying to do that this time around. When I was lighter, I felt lighter and It felt GREAT! I encourage you all to stick with it. Just day 3 and I already feel a confidence about myself and getting in shape.

Question, today (day 4) Is cardio recovery as most of you know, but I isially play like an 1hr and a half of basketball on Wednseday nights. Can I replace the recovery with playing ball or should I still do it when I get home. Keep in mind I'm already sore from the first three days. Thanks and good luck to all!

I am right there with ya girl!! I am on day 17... and now is definitely the time to commit!! Had about 45 pounds on me that needed to come off... a combination of poor eating habits and lazyness prevented me from controlling it. I actually started the program a month ago before realizing how important a balanced diet was... I wasn't eating bad food I was just not eating throughout the day so my body was in starvation mode hording everything... two weeks into the program and I talked to a nutritionist for the first time and realized how big diet factored into weight loss. I am practically force feeding myself 5 times a day (all clean food), I'm not hungry and I'm losing weight... when I started the diet I started the program over to maximize my benefits...

I would definitely do the video!! There is a Method to the madness LOL. I was SO so SO sore for the first week... unlike I have ever been before!! But it will pass... it is definitely one INSANE workout!!

Thank for the response Melissa...However, I'm not a girl. LMBO!!! I'm as much of a guy as you'll ever meet.

What do you eat throughout the day? This morning I had a bowl of Raisin Bran Crunch with Fat Free milk and a banana for breakfast. I feel like my gut is so flipping big that I should starve my self in order to lose the weight, but like you said a balanced diet is very important. What should I eat for Lunch, Dinner, etc?

Thanks

HAHAHAHaahaha so sorry about that!

I was talking to my little brother the other night about the same thing. He is a big guy so I told him to just adjust it for him because he would probably need more calories... What I am eating is...

breakfast- oat meal OR whole wheat cream of wheat and strawberry's
Mid Morning snack- Fiber bar
Lunch- fish or chicken brown rice and steamed veggys
mid afternoon- lof fat string cheese and yogurt
Dinner- salad or veggy wrap

I do drink 2 cups of coffee with truvia and a dab of creamer

Other than that I avoid sugar, salts, and most beverages.

I use to think that I didn't need to eat throughout the day... It is extremely important to eat on a schedule, I have had people telling me that for years and always was a "non-believer" but it is absolutely true! as soon as I changed my diet I starting dropping pounds and inches... kinda hard to wrap your head around "eating to lose weight" especially if you have ever struggled with weight.

All last year monday through friday after I dropped my son off at school I would walk in the park 4.5-6 miles a day in the heat and humidity of florida and lost maybe 2 pounds. I was eating the way I have eaten my whole life... no breakfast no lunch just dinner and semi healthy for the most part. From talking to a nutritionist I was sabotaging myself because my body was in starvation mode hording everything I ate... didn't matter what I did physically.

I swear once I started over on Insanity eating a balanced diet the weight is melting off like never before! So far I have lost 12 pounds and 5.5 inches off my waist!!

Hi all!

Today is my first day doing Insanity! And boy oh boy was it a workout. I consider myself an intermediate level exerciser so I was surprised when I found myself truly struggling.

Here's my results from the fit test:

Switch kicks: 110
Power Jacks: 50
Power knees: 80
Power jumps 36 (These really sucked!)
Globe jumps: 8
Suicide jumps: 12
Pushup jacks: 5 (Sheer torture!)
Low plank obliques: 40

Definitely a challenging workout. Can't wait to see what I look like in 60 days.

I am on week four of the first month... can't wait for recovery week... and eager yet scared for month two!

Yep, this is my first round! I've wanted to buy the program for about a year. Finally found it on Ebay for $23! Best deal ever! :)

Completed Day 2 - Plyometric Cardio Circuit

All I can say about the workout is....DAMN, that was INSANE! :yikes: I love a good challenge and I do believe I've found one. It's so hard that it makes me mad that I can't keep up. And that's a really good thing cause it makes me even more determined to finish the program. :carrot:

Glad you're ahead of me Melissa. That will inspire me to keep going when my achy muscles are crying out for a break. In the beginning, did you watch the workouts before you did them? Not sure if that would help or just make me more anxious.

I had been wanting to do it for awhile too! You got a CRAZY good deal on it lol... sheeesh that's a steal compared to retail hahaha. To answer your question... Nope I didn't watch a single one till it was time... thought I might scare myself LOL. My cousin is two weeks ahead of me... so she is on week one of month two and she took a short vid of ONE of the exercises and posted it on facebook... the title was "SHOOT me...".... after I watched it I wished I hadn't hahahaha... month two is gonna be so crazy killer insane, I guess that's why most people who have done it say month two is where the results come in.

I thought month one was pretty dang hard, but apparently it is just a warm up to the real Insanity!! I'm scared and excited... gonna have to push through it because I got some weight to lose! I know I am gonna have to do another round to really get to where I want to be, but already in the first month I have seen more results than I expected... It's really the only thing that has really worked for me... :carrot:

What a long day...

Finally squeezed in my workout. Somehow in my rush to get started, I screwed up the order of the dvds. And wound up doing Pure Cardio instead of Cardio Power & Resistance. :dizzy: Oh well, not going to worry about it. I'll just switch them out on Friday. Cause I really need the Cardio Recovery tomorrow! (I'm walking around the house like Frankenstein!)

Melissa: I think you're right about not watching them beforehand. If I had known there would be endless suicide jumps and push-up jacks in my future, I never would have bought the program! ;) I'd rather not know what torture lies ahead of me.

I just looked at the calendar and noticed you also have Recovery tomorrow! That's so cool to know someone will be suffering through the same workout. Misery loves company! LOL

Dang...I'm tired. Gonna run so I can grab a protein shake before bed.

Glad I didn't watch either... Don't think I would have had the balls to attempt it had I know what was ahead of me. As it is I am regretting watching the clip of ONE exercise from month two that my cousin sent me! I truly think that as hard as we think month one is... it is going to be nothing compared to month two! Kind of a good thing for me though because I want to do at least 2 rounds, so by the time I get back to month ones the workouts should feel like nothing LOL..... well that's my hope anyway!

My cousin did say she is back to the week one pains... hurts all over again doing the "Frankenstein" LOL... plush she said Shuan T's whole tone changes to more drill sergeant hahaha GREAT... yay!

But ya got to love it! Anything that works like this can't be easy!

I was reading a blog the other day and I thought this was pretty funny...

""I'm here to kick your butt! ...And I'm not playing!" Those are some of the first words you hear Shaun utter as soon as you press play on the DVD. It's then you know that you'll probably die during the workout and wake up in the great beyond. In fact, I'm about 99% sure that I'm typing this from the "other side."

It was a review of month two day one....

Hi Ladies!

Can I join in here? I am on week 3 of Round 2 of Insanity. I have lost 14 lbs so far and about 5% body fat. I am looking for other chicks who are in this crazy ridiculous plan with Shaun T! I swear I curse him so much during workouts even during Round 2 lol! Congrats on starting and sticking with it, trust me you won't regret it! :D

Oh PS Melissa Lynn-Month 2 after your "recovery week" doing Core Cardio and Balance is where the INSANE really comes in. It is literally like starting over but harder lol! But it's amazing because that is when you can feel your endurance and strength really coming to the forefront. When it seems completely beyond the realm of possibility to do any more-KEEP PUSHING! Trust me it is totally worth it! :D Example, after Round 1 I ran my first timed mile in a year (I run marathons/10k when not preggo) and I ran a 7:32, which is faster than right before I got pregnant (I am NOT a fast distance runner lol). So stick with month 2 NO MATTER WHAT even if it seems daunting! :dizzy: You can do it!

09-02-2011, 08:14 PM
:welcome2: munstermommy (Already in week 3 of round 2? You're so hardcore!) :D I'm a runner too. Every time Shaun T yells for us to get our knees up when we're doing sprints and high knees, I think to myself "This sure as h*ll better improve my 10k time!"

Ok...so today was Day 5 of week one / round 1. Since I screwed up the schedule earlier in the week, I finally did Cardio Power & Resistance. I'm thinking maybe my mistake was a blessing in disguise.

Yesterday's workout was Recovery which included tons of stretching that I truly needed. And today's workout didn't seem too crazy so I felt tired but not destroyed when I finished. So far so good.

Melissa: Love the quote from the Insanity blog! If you have time can you share the link to it? BTW - After 4 days of popping Advil the pain is finally gone! I can walk like a normal person again! woo-hoo! Can't wait to hear how you make out after "Recovery Week." I'm sure you'll do great. It takes a certain kind of slightly "Insane" female to even attempt to do this program!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hi ladies! Today is "off" day for me (day 7 of week 3/round 2) but I ran a little bit and stretched because I was feeling super tight from doing Insanity yesterday and working out wuth my bro in law too. I had Plyo circuit which I like a lot! My favorite though is Max Cardio Conditioning which I will get to do in another 2 weeks (yay...??????) Haha. I hope you all are still keeping up the good work, pushing through as Shaun T says lol!

Dangerous-thanks for the welcome :). I'm excited to find other girls doing this completely ridiculous system lol. Your comment about the Advil transported me to 2.5 months ago during WEEK 1 I swear I thought my calf muscles were tearing lol. Omg sooooooo much pain! It finally dissipated a bit at the end of the first week too lol! Great job, keep it up amd yes, this greatly improved my running-I haven't even focused on running in the last 3 months except as a supplement and I am definitely faster/have more endurance already. You will not regret it! I think this time I'm going to do a bunch of running workouts during recovery week since I want to see how much I have improved what do you think? Hope you are having a good off day too, keep me posted on your progress! :)

Good Morning!

VERY HONEST PICS AT BOTTOM OF POST (sorry for the skivvies, but I took pics that wouldn't hide anything but still be covered like any two piece would)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to the gym this morning for extra cardio/energy boost before diving into Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs for the day! I love this combo of workouts! I have this week and then I am into "recovery week" again for the second time (although I think I might either skip it or do a bunch of running workouts since I am in Round 2). I can't wait for month 2 MAX WORKOUTS!!!!!!!!!! BRING IT ON SHAUN T I CAN'T TAKE ANYTHING YOU DISH OUT NOW YO!!!!!!!!! lol so funny ("that s*** is ba-nanas yo" is one of my favorite lines in ANY video and I got to hear it today yay!)

Melissa-YAY FOR RECOVERY WEEK LOL!!!! Core Cardio and Balance is a great workout. I really like it. You do get a good burn/sweat going without being completely ridiculous. Trust me you will appreciate the time "off" lol because month 2 is just what you said when the REAL Insanity begins lol! I am telling you though, it made a huge difference for me, I have a small baby (she is just now 8 months and my second child) and when I started Insanity the weight just would NOT come off. This definitely has kicked it off lol! Keep working, let me know how month 2 feels to you and how you like it! Great job!!!!!!!!!!

Okay so I wanted to put the before and after shots from the Round 1 of Insanity here, but I only know how to post them as thumbnails so SORRY FOR THE BRUTAL HONESTY OF THE PICS. I wanted to show what things were really like.

I'M BACK! :)

It's been a few days since I've posted but no worries...I'm still digging deep!

Today is Day 9/ week 2/ round 1

I had kind of a crazy weekend. Trying to be my usual super sociable self. Unfortunately, that led to me not getting enough sleep and not having enough energy to work out yesterday. My punishment for slacking off?! TWO WORKOUTS TODAY! (Cardio Power and my fav Pure Cardio) :carrot: That's right, I'm back on schedule. (I think Shaun T is my head now. Pushing me out of my comfort zone. And forcing me to push myself to the limit.)

Melissa: Thanks for the link to your blog. We have a similar sense of humor. Girl, you crack me up! :D Sounds like you're pumped up for next week. Yay!

munstermommy: Running workouts during your recovery week sounds like a good idea. I'm seriously missing my "runners high" but I don't want to sabotage my Insanity workouts. Trying to figure out how to squeeze in a couple 5k's this week. Thinking maybe Thurs/Sat so I still get a rest day.

Ladies, thanks for being brave enough to post your pics! You don't know how much you've inspired me. You guys look absolutely fabulous!

Hey Girls!

Okay so today was Cardio Power and Resistance, which is my LEAST favorite out of all the workouts, month 1 and 2. Poo lol! I got up and busted it out at 5:45am because I just wanted it out of the way lol! Those tricep one leg dips just kick my butt for real :dizzy:! Had to dig super deep to keep going during that interval, and it happens even now that I am on Round 2 where I think "I am just going to fall on the floor now" haha! Went to the gym and trained a friend of mine, 40 minutes of cardio intervals and a 20 minute total body strength circuit, so I got in a serious workout today lol! Feels good though, I am hoping to see some good scale movement here this week. I am so glad there are others on this journey with me :). Oh, I have been researching Insanity Asylum, and I think I am going to order it so I can do it when I finish this Round 2. Have you ladies seen any of it? OMG :dizzy::dizzy::dizzy::dizzy::dizzy::dizzy::dizzy: I think I have to be literally insane because it looks 500 times harder than Insanity and I WANT IT, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! haha! Hope you all had a great day digging deeper, and let's kick Shaun T's a** tomorrow girls! :D

dangerous-Oh boy, I had to do that one day during round 1 (double up on workouts) and that is tough! But AWESOME JOB on getting it knocked out! Oh, Pure Cardio is one of my favorites too :D. I think you are right about running, I was the same as you during Round 1, I didn't want to mess with the workouts for Insanity so I really didn't run for that 2 month period. I have been doing some running, but I think I will use that week as a catalyst for starting up training again. Good luck with fitting in those 5ks, you will work it out! Thx for the pics comments, it is tough putting those out there, but I feel like people should know that this is really worth the effort to see some great improvement! Thank you for sticking with this and keep us posted!

Ladies let's DIG DEEPER, PUSH HARDER this week...I can't wait to get to month 2 IT'S FREAKIN CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dangerouscurves76 (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/members/dangerouscurves76.html)- Ouch I hate making up a workout... but we just can't get around it sometimes! Hi Ladies!

So today was Plyo Cardio Circuit :). I like this circuit a lot! I woke up early AGAIN today so I was doing it at 5:45am. I think it is a bit early for Shaun T's energy but I feel so much better getting it over and done with! I went to the gym and did ARC trainer and the Jacob's Ladder at 8am so I am feeling good about the calorie burn for today. I am hoping to be into the 140s by next week, I am sick and tired of this baby weight hanging around! Shaun T was funny today, I love how he gets into the cast member's faces during the intervals! If I were them I would want to punch him lol! Anyway hope you ladies are having a great day and DIG DEEPER today, man some days are tougher than others lol!

Melissa-Yep those pics are from day 1 and then day 63 of Round 1. I am going to take another set of pics from day 63 of Round 2 but none until then. I took the Sunday off after completing Round 1 and started Round 2 that same Monday :dizzy:. I didn't want to take a break because I knew how hard it would be to get back into it if I took too much time off lol! It has been fine so far too. Although working out with Insanity (running/elliptical/strength training) has been making it a little bit harder during Insanity workouts for sure! But I know that my body is changing in amazing ways, and I feel so great after I finish each workout! Great video, wow your results are so awesome! Trust me you will love how you look after month 2 since you are getting great results with month 1! GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 10 - Plyo Cardio Circuit (completed)

Ladies, can I tell you just how much I hate this :censored: workout? Shaun T just yelling and yelling "up, down, back, pushups, in, out, pushups..." It makes me angry but ohhhhh so satisfied when it's finally over! :carrot:

munstermommy: You're my hero for actually enjoying that workout! Can't wait till I have Round 1 under my belt. By then, I know Plyo Cardio will be a snap! So you're thinking about getting Insanity Asylum. Go for it! If you've watched the videos and something inside you is aching to go through even more torture, well then feed the beast! Don't forget to Dig Deeper! ;)

Melissa: Cool results video! I can really see the difference. I wish I hadn't been lazy and took the time for a few quick pics on Day 1. :dizzy:

Ok...so I have Thursday's workout schedule all planned out. Early a.m. 5k and then Yoga Booty Ballet (Hip Hop Abs) Then later before dinner I'll do my Recovery Cardio. Hope I'm not sore on Friday.

Have a great workout tomorrow!

I wasn't even planning on posting anything or doing a video but when I looked at my 30 day pics I was floored! The combination of diet and the program have already given me more results in the first 30 than I had hoped to get from the whole program! I couldn't hardly do 5 pushups before this now I can pump out 25 pushup jacks, that's INSANE!! I was pretty apprehensive about posting pics but honestly it keeps me moving forward... and I think the results are pretty dramatic!! The diet is honestly hands down the biggest factor... actually eating rather than not eating... who woulda thought you could lose weight that way LOL, not me... do now though. Crazy how a couple of bad habits can sabotage everything you try. I walked all last school year mon-fri 4-6 miles plus ate pretty healthy and lost 3 pounds... ridiculous!!! Once I found Insanity everything has fallen into place. I have cut out all soda's, am eating every three hours, I quit smoking... and I feel like I am really developing my muscles for the first time EVER... all the sports I played in school (soccer, track, cross country, softball) pale in comparison... Insanity reminds me of a combination of practice drills for EVERY organized sport jam packed into one truly hardcore and insane work out!! And I am loving it!!

munstermommy, Thanks!! It is crazy amazing how much better I feel, and seeing the difference and talking about it with you guys definitely keeps me motivated! I was thinking about starting round two immediately too... might as well keep the momentum rolling... after all mama lives in Florida and would like to have a rockin beach body by next summer hahahaha! I think I have gotten agreat results so far so I know as insane as month two is gonna be I am gonna have to dig deep and the pay off will be way worth it!

dangerouscurves (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/members/dangerouscurves76.html), I definitely have and will curse out Shaun T! I love him and hate him all at the same time! I prolly look like a crazy nut jumping around my living room cursing at my TV hahaha... *note to self <close any and all blinds in the future>*

Good Evening Ladies!

So today was Cardio Recovery, which I needed since I am training a friend of mine on top of Insanity and doing my own other workouts haha! I really like the recovery workouts for both month 1 and 2, after kicking your own a** for the week and Shaun T yelling at you, it is nice to have a comparatively (because come on a normal person would still say the recovery workouts are tough lol) calm and relaxing workout! There must be something seriously wrong with us lol!:dizzy::dizzy::dizzy: Anyway, back into it tomorrow, just 2 more days to go until Recovery Week again and then...dun dun dun...MONTH 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy cow I can't wait! I just want to see the sweat and fat melting off me haha! Hope you ladies had a great day and that you had fun with Shaun T lol!

Melissa-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OMG I just laughed so hard I almost peed my pants!!!!!!!!!!!! I do the same thing I abuse Shaun T so much during workouts I wouldn't be surprised if his ears were burning every morning (there have to be thousands of us doing it I swear lol). I just thought about my blinds when I read that comment, I keep my front door open and I just thought about the people who could potentially see me, they are thinking "what the h*** is that psycho doing?!" LOL LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh man there is something wrong with us that we love this torture. Great job and keep it up!

dangerous-You will knock out month 1 no problem in Round 2 trust me! I hope that you aren't sore too, I hate those days when the legs are sore and heavy and don't want to move and Shaun T is like "let's go yall!" OMG that's when I start berating him and really getting angry haha! Keep digging deeper! You can do it!

Okay girls, hope tomorrow goes well and talk to you soon!

Ok...so I have Thursday's workout schedule all planned out. Early a.m. 5k and then Yoga Booty Ballet (Hip Hop Abs) Then later before dinner I'll do my Recovery Cardio.

Overslept this morning so I had to downgrade to 1.5 miles. :( Felt so bad I added Yoga Booty Ballet (Cabaret) to my evening workout. For a grand total of 2.5 hrs of sweating and stretching! :carrot:

Tomorrow, I'm working out with my cousin again. He wants to give Cardio Power & Resistance another try. Which works out great for me cause I'll need someone to PUSH me tomorrow. :drill:

Melissa: 25 pushup jacks? You are INSANE! Shaun T turns women into warriors! I love it. I'm actually looking forward to my next fit test cause I plan to rock it out.

munstermommy: You're so right about the Recovery workout. My thighs were burning and I was getting a major cramp. Yet somehow in my mind, I kept thinking "This feels sooooo good. No jumping....no suicides." There's definitely something questionable about how my brain works since I've started Insanity. :dizzy:

Well ladies, I'm beat. Gotta run.

dangerouscurves76
09-09-2011, 12:28 PM
:woohoo: Got an early start on my workouts!

Already completed Cardio Power & Resistance plus Supreme 90 (Shoulders/Arms)

Working out with my cousin was a blast this morning. Shaun T was giving him H*ll! :D It felt sooooo good to be able to keep up with the dvd. My cousin was like "What the :censored: did you eat for breakfast? You're making me look bad!" I told him I had a big bowl of DIG DEEPER w/ a side dish of Move Your Lazy Azz! :D He flipped me the bird...and we both cracked up laughing. Definitely wasting precious energy we needed to keep going. Good times!

Lucky for me, I wasn't sore this morning. So I feel confident that the added walk/run was worth it. Tonight, I have another cardio session planned. Gotta do what I gotta do before Monday's weigh in and fit test. I'm ready to see that scale finally move in the right direction. Pretty please w/ a cherry on top. :crossed:

munstermommy: Are you following the Insanity nutrition plan? And/ or using any supplements? These two-a-day workouts are brutal. Want to make sure I'm not deficient in anything.

Melissa: Looks like you've got one more day of recovery. Any lingering aches and pains? I'm excited for your month 2. Can't wait to hear how crazy the workouts are.

Good Evening Girls!

So today was supposed to be Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs but I woke up late and didn't have time to do the whole thing so I switched tomorrow's workout in for it (Plyo Circuit). Tomorrow morning I will bust those two out. Went to the gym and did some super insane sprint/incline intervals that my bro in law sent to me (he owns a personal training company/gym about 4 hours away from us) that kicks a$$!!!!! OMG sweating like crazy legs are screaming by the end! Gotta love that :D. Trying to get off the TMO bloat, was up about 1 lb (typically up about 3 though so hoping to see a big whoosh come next week's weigh in :D) so that's a bummer even though I know it is all water weight. Hoping to get in the double DVD tomorrow before 7am because otherwise I have a baby literally crawling on me while I am trying to do level 2 drills lol! She is 8 months and man she gets excited when she thinks I am coming down on the floor lol!

dangerous-Yes I am basically following the nutrition plan. I have to cook for my hubby, DS, and myself so I do modify with things that I have on hand that we all like, but stick to the calories, high protein, veggies, etc. I just modify the recipes essentially. I really like it! :) HAHA I have made my hubby do this with me (ex college football player, 6 pack, weight lifter, about 9-10% body fat) and he is like "why in the H*LL would you do this??????" as he is dripping sweat and falling down on the floor lol!! It gives me such a rush to kick his tall a$$ in this lol! Doesn't it feel amazing??? Gotta love Shaun T for it although 90% of the time I wish I could jump through the TV and kick him in his finely sculpted butt LOL!!!!! What week are you in again? I hit a stall right during week 3 and then it came off like crazy again after that. Hoping for a great weigh in and fit test for you! :D

Okay girls, hoping to get that Pure Cardio/Cardio Abs done early so I can take baby girl to the gym at 8am to bust out some more cardio+strength (I am hoping to make it to a body sculpt class we shall see!). Keep kicking butt ladies!

Hey Girls!

Quick post while I am on here. Went to the gym for 1.5 hours and did cardio, sprints, and abs. Had Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs but my Cardio Abs DVD is NOT WORKING GRRRRRRRRRRRR :mad::mad::mad::mad:. Hence the abs at the gym. Shaun T cracks me up in Pure Cardio I love it! Anyway I will check in later, hoping that you all are having a great day and WOOHOO for an "off" day tomorrow (I will still work out, but no Shaun T lol). Talk to you ladies soon!

Good Morning Ladies!

So praise be for a day off lol! I might actually take the full day off (I haven't done that for over a month now 7 days a week holy cow!). I fee like my body really needs it. So, I might just lay around and watch football with hubby and play with the LOs and then take a nap with DS and DD when they go down later this afternoon! I love having a hubby who works in a school district lol. Hope you all have a good day off (even if you are still working out haha!) and talk to you all soon!

WHEeeeeeeeeeeew baby we are full bore into the **** now!!! Month two and all of it's insanity are upon us! Feeling pretty good today, The workout was not quite as hard as I was anticipating!! Other than feeling significantly longer I powered through it and "dug deep". It was hard looking up at the clock after the warmup and stretches to see that I still had a full 44 minutes of the actual workout!! Other than that it was all good! I did the fit test yesterday and just skipped my rest day. I wanted to give both the fit test and max interval my all so loosing a rest day was a better option than killing myself in one day hahaha. My numbers from the fit test are crazy (for me)... I was floored by how many more switch kicks I was able to do, that and push up jacks... 20 fricken 7... holly cow am I gonna have some guns after this!! Maybe I can be a female UFC fighter when I get through this LMFAO...

Ok..so I had another crazy weekend. Managed to get all my workouts in and spent some time relaxing w/friends. Woke up excited to weigh-in and do my fit test. Went into the bathroom and stepped on the scale.:censored: :tantrum: I'm up 3.5 lbs! I was too stunned to even think straight. Fighting back tears, I logged onto beachbody.com and found a bunch of women had gone thru the same thing. :dizzy:

Note to self: Breathe deep...relax..it's ok! I know my diet is on point. I haven't had booze in quite a few months and no sweets in over a month. I'm eating as clean and organic as my grocery budget will allow. TOM is next week, so maybe I'm already retaining water! Who knows for sure what's going on. But at the end of the day, I know I'm taking great care of myself. I'm just going to have to dig deeper and push myself even farther. Soooo glad I have you ladies to share my success and struggles with! :grouphug:

On the upside, I rocked my fit test! :cheer:

Day 15/ Week 3/ Round 1 :carrot:

Fit Test #2

Switch kicks: 124/62 each (110)
Power Jacks: 65 (50) *Woo-hoo! I kept up w/ Tanya!:D
Power knees: 100 (80)
Power jumps: 50 (36) *I'm still in shock! :dizzy:
Globe jumps: 13 (8)
Suicide jumps: 15 (12)
Pushup jacks: 15 (5) *200% improvement? That's just INSANE!
Low plank obliques: 50 (40)

Gotta run for now, I'll check back before bed.

dangerous-No worries, I had the same thing around week 3, I didn't gain but I didn't lose ANYTHING, not a single thing for almost 2 solid weeks. I was P!SSED!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew I was on point etc. but man I was angry!:devil::devil: so don't get too worried about it. I think it really is all that water retention, TOM, building lean mass, etc. I had to check about 50 other beachbody boards before I could chill out lol! So keep working! You are doing great and you WILL see results I PROMISE! Seriously, same thing happened to me, and in the first round I lost 12 lbs total. So keep going! BTW I almost want to just kick this recovery to the curb and start month 2 right now lol! Oh well, give myself a little break. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!! I will be rooting you on in the morning when I start Core Cardio at 5:45am :dizzy: lol! Have a great day and keep digging!

Melissa: You go girl! :exercise: I'm so happy you had a strong start on month 2. :bravo: on the pushup jacks! 27 is freaking mind boggling. Good idea to skip the rest day. The fit test is NO joke on it's own. Curiosity is killing me...think I'm going to watch Max Interval tomorrow! :smug:

munstermommy: Enjoy your "faux" recovery week! ;) Dang...you're like the energizer bunny. I gotta keep digging deeper and get me some of that energy!

Hey Girls!

Core Cardio and Balance this morning :dizzy:. I hate those freakin hip flexor burners and the shoulder burners. Man they are killer lol! But I LOVE not jumping around like a fool for an hour haha! Hit the gym and ran+strength so feeling great today! Hope you ladies had a good night and that your workouts go well today! Let's kick Shaun T's a$$ ladies! :carrot::carrot:

dangerous-the "recovery" week this time is more like recovery for sure than in Round 1. I was still hurting then haha! So hoping for a good rest because I KNOW that next week is going to seriously kick my a$$ for sure! I am super excited about it lol! I just know that when I get my body fat tested again after this second round it is going to be down more and that makes me so stoked lol! Hope that you had a good workout today, and you should watch Max Interval it is fun to see some of the cast members dying haha :devil::devil:.

I borrowed the dvds from a friend (her husband bought them a while back and then promptly forgot about them)...but I didn't think to ask what the schedule/order for actually DOING them was.

Can anyone help me out? Or point me in the right direction for finding the info myself? I'm just starting the 30DS but I want to do Insanity after that. :)

tinneranne2-Woohoo another brave soldier to add to the tortured masses LOL! You can go online and print the schedule out, just Google Insanity calendar, and you will come up with a bunch of image files that you can print. You basically just need that and nothing else, it's that easy! DISCLAIMER: There is nothing easy about this program. However, if you literally want to kick your own a$$ every day, sweat an ocean on your living room floor, curse another human being for his very existence, cry tears of relief when the workout is FINALLY over, get results like crazy, and be able to kick MAJOR A$$ in almost any fitness endeavor you can think of...INSANITY IS FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it, I am on Round 2 recovery week (finished Round 1, 12 lbs lost 4% body fat lost, 7:30 min. mile time afterward) and am going to enter Month 2 THE REAL INSANITY LOL on Monday. Join us in this craziness, we love the company haha :dizzy:. I am so excited that you have decided to try it! There aren't nearly enough of us right now, and it is an AMAZING program. Hope to hear about your progress, keep us updated on the 30DS too, and then get ready for some serious sweating, fatigue, and awesomeness lol!

Hey Ladies!

Dangerous- I know the fit test is killer in itself... was shocked myself to get 27 pushup jacks... in retrospect maybe I should have held back a little because now I am gonna have to top that two more times LOL :censored:

Max Ininterval Plyo - (yesterday)
Holly crap... "squat pushups", "one legged V pushups", "power pushups", "Level 3 Drills", "Side Push-Ups", "Balance Push-Ups".... the onslaught of pushups last night was endless... felt like I did 200 Pushups!! Arms were like JELLO when I finally finished hahahahaha

Max Cardio Conditioning - (today)

Not as bad as anticipated LOL... the 5 minutes of "squat work" at the end left a burn I'm still feeling!

ok I only registered on this forum to make a reply on this thread, apparently you have been confused about insanity as I was .

I only wanted to loose 10 pound,I did insanity for 1.5 month , I didn't see any result at all so I started googling for reviews again
a lot of people have put a before/after pictures of themselves , I didn't see any difference between their before/after pictures
but I thought maybe their body type is different or something, maybe their body is resistant to weight loss and mine is different, So I continued doing it for 1 month more,I still saw no difference ,
but because I was feeling very good about myself after doing insanity every time I kept going, it feels like you have done something really hard and
you are really proud of yourself (if you have done insanity you know what I mean ;) ) it also Increases endurance .
anyways , a couple of month ago I saw this couch who knows a lot about this stuff,I asked him about insanity and told him that was really intensive workout which has like 30 seconds max rest in between.
he told me this is interval training and interval training doesn't make you lose weight, and I was like wtf , then I started remembering about those before/after pictures that I saw on internet and every thing made sense .

then I asked him what makes you loose weight ? and he said only slow exercise that are more than 20 minutes, like aerobic or dancing .

and I totally agree with him, I already lost more than 30 pounds with this method last year, I was doing "billy blanks taebo cardio" , it get's boring after a week or two , but it really works , and there are a couple of them to choose from, I only this 3 of them(55 minutes) so I don't get bored.
it doesn't have a good music though so I was playing my own chosen music on background.

I did it for 3 month then I stopped because I was pretty happy with the results,
the alternative for this is dancing if you don't want to pay money ,dance for more than 40 minutes a day , and watch what you are eating and you'll be shocked how much weight you are gonna loose in 2month .

if this method doesn't work for you nothing will and you will need to see a doctor, but it will work for 98% of people.

other thing about insanity is that insanity is for ripped people that they want to make sure their body stays ripped not for people who want to loose weight.

of course you can continue doing insanity if you want to have a great feeling about yourself after each workout,

but as for the result , don't expect too much ;)

right now I want to loose 10 pounds to be in perfect shape of my life,I have started doing taebo cardio a week ago and I'm gonna add hip hop abs to my schedule (I have heard good things about it).
I'm gonna do taebo cardio in the mornings for an hour and hiphopabs in the evenings, total of 2 hours a day.

and remember loosing weight is not a choice , It's a MUST .

Dany87 (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/members/dany87.html)- Thanks for your opinion, and I will take it as just that. There is nothing that I am "confused" about when it comes to Insanity... Just because it didn't work for you doesn't mean it wont work for others. In fact I have lost 15 pound while on Insanity. I have before and current pics and there is a HUGE difference!!

I am confused as to why someone would tell you only slow exercise makes you lose weight. Is this person a doctor??? There are plenty of intense activities that that stimulate weight loss.

Combined with diet there is no reason a person would not be able to lose weight while doing Insanity, unless they are half as:censored:ing it... and not following the program...

I will continue to keep my expectations high for Insanity as the results it has produced are PHENOMENAL, I don't do it because it "makes me feel good for doing something hard"... I do it because it is hard as **** and when you are really digging you WILL get results!!! Pictures don't lie!!!!

Melissa-You know that I will completely agree with you! Your results have been amazing so far, and I know that you love the program. Keep working and I think that you will be on your way to serious "rippedness" (lol) here very soon!

dany87-I have lost 15 lbs with Insanity as well, and slow exercise ONLY making you lose weight, that is a crock of crap! Excuse the language. I have a bachelor's and masters in Biology (Anatomy and Physiology) and that is completely ridiculous! It really comes down to calories in/out, and if you want to get them out by walking around Disneyland every day, training for an ultra marathon, doing Insanity, or whatever exercise you follow you will lose if you are creating a deficit. It is tougher to lose the last 10 pounds because if you are in a healthy range, your body doesn't necessarily want to "give up" that weight and you have to work harder to lose the fat that your body stores for you in case you were to not have access to proper nourishment. I wouldn't blame the program, I would say that you might not have been following it correctly especially if your diet is not COMPLETELY on plan. If you are doing Insanity and not eating the proper amount of calories/protein/carbs/fat to lose that last 10 lbs. THEN YOU WON'T. Your opinion is just that, but please don't come on this forum specifically for the reason of trashing others' regimen's and expecting it to make a difference when you have completely nonconstructive advice to give. I will post my pics as well, there is a seriously noticeable difference between DAY 1 and now the end of week 4 ROUND 2 of Insanity. NO ONE could say I was "ripped" before starting!

Dany87
09-17-2011, 03:28 PM
ok, as I said you are free to do what ever you do with your time ,
I was only expressing my opinion since I lost more than 30 pounds with other cardio programs and nothing with insanity.
after I saw other peoples result I got the conclusion that insanity works only on a few type of people.
besides I don't see much difference in your picture either,in the second picture you have obviously done your best yo hold your belly back, I don't call that a weight loss , you can do that with only walking .

I don't know maybe if you are really fat insanity helps , when I was doing insanity I was like 5k overweight to be in the perfect shape.

dany-Okay so it's great that you have lost weight other ways, but we have used this program to lose weight quite well. I am also a former collegiate athlete, and I have done almost every workout on the planet: running, walking, weight lifting heavy/light, playing soccer for 6 hours a day, etc. I am SUPER happy for you that you lost with another program, but would appreciate it if you didn't come onto this thread and talk about other programs and say that it doesn't work. Again, if you didn't lose ANYTHING or see ANY IMPROVEMENT in muscle tone/body shape then I say to you-you are DOING SOMETHING WRONG. If you are telling me I am holding my belly back, how do you explain away the 15 lbs and 4% body fat I have lost doing Insanity (I get skin fold caliper tests done regularly), as well as the 3 inches in my waist and the 4 inches in my hips? If you can't see the difference then your are either blind, or jealous that other people can stick with Insanity and get results that you couldn't. I think that you should just stick to what works for you and stay out of this thread. I AM AN ATHLETE and this program WORKS and has been great for me because it is something that kicks a$$ and makes it really hard, to the point of failure to get through. If you enjoy slow exercise then join the walk away the pounds or another thread.

Wow...the thread is really hopping these days! :) Welcome tttellier and tinneranne2

Sorry, I've been M.I.A. for most of the week ladies. No worries ...I've been digging deeper and re-calculating my threshold for pain! (Shaun T - I think I love you!)

I've got a Tip of the Day for you guys. Never...ever...ever spill an entire mug of cappuccino on your keyboard! You will ruin it forever and end up spending $ you had allotted for "entertainment purposes" on a new one!:tantrum: Dang...I really wanted to see Jason Momoa in the new Conan movie! ;) Gonna have to wait another week. Then again, that won't be a bad prize for completing my first month of Insanity. :carrot:

Today's workout is Plyo Cardio Circuit. I'm stalling till about 5 pm before I do it. I've decided to add 25 "suicides" to my a.m. cardio/ weight training workout. I struggle with my form during PlyoCC cause I get so tired from pushing myself through the suicides.

Melissa: Congrats on making it through a tough week! I watched most of Max Interval Plyo. Yikes!!! Been practicing that crazy donkey kick move. (The one that looks like the advanced version of skier abs.) Good lord...they are INSANE! My abs are taking a beating.

munstermommy: FYI: I broke up with my scale for good this time! :club: From now on, I'm only going to weigh myself once every month or two. Just to make sure I'm not backsliding. I love the sense of accomplish I feel after completing my Insanity workouts. In the end, that means more to me than a number on a scale. Plus, some of my leggings are too big around the waist. So I know something great is happening to my body!

Have a wonderful day ladies.

ok, as I said you are free to do what ever you do with your time ,
I was only expressing my opinion since I lost more than 30 pounds with other cardio programs and nothing with insanity.
after I saw other peoples result I got the conclusion that insanity works only on a few type of people.
besides I don't see much difference in your picture either,in the second picture you have obviously done your best yo hold your belly back, I don't call that a weight loss , you can do that with only walking .

I don't know maybe if you are really fat insanity helps , when I was doing insanity I was like 5k overweight to be in the perfect shape.

Honestly and to be quite blunt I find your approach to be extremely rude and condescending. I do appreciate the fact you have lost weight your own way... BUT I am really irritated by the fact you are implying that we are wasting our time... and how dare you come on here and put someone Else's results down!

Insanity is NOT for everyone, just because you didn't get the results you were looking for doesn't mean as a whole the program doesn't work unless you are already in shape. For one when you are building your muscles, muscle weighs more that fat... the measurements are your moment of truth not the scale...

Since my last post I have talked with several of my friends who are either fitness junkies, athletes, or beachbody coaches and they all said the same the... your assertion that only SLOW exercise stimulates weight loss is entirely off base. Plus just a FYI I talked about doing hip hop abs before Insanity and all of em said I would get way more out of Insanity...

Please don't come on here and attack our method... if you don't like it post a thread of something you do like... just another FYI it is against the rules to say someone else's method doesn't work if you weren't asked... and we didn't ask, and frankly don't care what you think of it or how we spend our time... think it is time for you to pack up and move on... cuz just like the workout this thread isn't for you either! :censored: and have a nice day :D

I so so so want to do insanity! I'm going to get it as soon as I save up some money for it. I'm thinking of doing it November/December to keep me focused through the holidays (a time at which I'm very good at slacking off). I have been reading posts in this thread for a while and an so impressed with you all! Keep it up!

Melissa-I think I love you lol! You are totally right, and I appreciate how you say it! Keep working, you are getting great results!

Bikini-:welcome: This is a great place to talk about your love/hate relationship with Shaun T and Insanity lol!

Dangerous-Good job on staying with it, you are close to recovery week right? Oh boy month 2 here you come :D. I am stoked, tomorrow off and then it really gets crazy :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D. I am so happy lol! I think there is something seriously wrong with me haha! Breaking up with the scale is always a good thing lol, it is EVIL!!!!!!! I think that you for sure have the right idea, especially since you are so close to goal. Keep working, you can do this!!!!!

Okay girls, sorry for the rant on my earlier post, but I was p!ssed!!!!!!!!! I know that I have lost A LOT and I am proud of the fact that my abs are coming back and that just made me really angry :devil::devil::devil:. Oh well when I am at goal I will know I owe some of it to Shaun T and Insanity! Have a great night ladies let's DIG DEEP this week!

first off sorry for all the drama yesterday... NOTHING I hate more than DRAMA!!!

munstermommy- I'm feeling ya girl! I was so ticked off yesterday the bi*ch was busting out! I think I was more p*ssed that dany87 tried to cut your pics down! Maybe it was a little more like outrage hahahaha... but atleast you were just the one sucking in, I was the "really fat" one LMFAO. I swear I do not understand what some people are thinking when they choose to talk out their A*s... I mean come on... People like that just want to try to take something away from you, and they can get away with it most of the time... just not with me. I don't play those games... ain't no one blowing out this flame cuz fat or skinny I am still the rockstar of my world no matter what anyone else thinks!!

Dangerous- Yay! You are kicking some as*!! Keep it up! When do you start recovery week? I had max plyo again yesterday and it did seem to be a whole lot better than the first time... hahaha prolly cuz I knew what I was in for already. I swear though my arms are gonna be so strong. Think I have done more pushups now than combined throughout my entire life!! It is sick and cool all at the same time!!

So on the downside... When I started insanity I waited a couple weeks so my cousin could start with me. When I added diet at the two week mark I started over to maximize my results... for awhile we were talking everyday and texting all the time but it seems like once she hit month two the "buddy" system ended... Now it almost seems competitive and a little weird... She is amassing her own group of friends and talking them into ordering the vids so they can be buddy's when she starts round two... kinda sucks! All my other friends are not into the workout thing like I am now so I have found lately that I have zero support on the friend front... I asked her if she would wait till the 10th to start (she was planning on restarting the 3rd) so we shall see... haven't herd anything yet but I figured I waited two weeks for her so.... oh well guess this is a road I am traveling with my online buddy's! Thank god I have you guys to vent to!!!

Hey Girls!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MONTH 2 STARTS TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, oh man the morning date with Shaun T is going to SUCK on so many levels LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really can't wait! I am so wanting to shred out with this next 4 weeks I can't stand it! Okay, so had some "woosaaaaaaaah" time last night and feel much better after the rant and issues of yesterday. I mean WTH? Anyway, feeling super stoked for tomorrow, and I am hoping that we all are going to just kick Shaun T a$$ in this Month 2 since we will be pretty much all in it at one point or another! I think I am going to repeat Month 2 again after this, I want to seriously lean out :)........hmmmmmmmmm good idea or just crazy? LOL!

Melissa-OMG so mad haha! I am glad that I wasn't the only one. I don't EVER get crazy on anyone on these boards, I am generally known as the super up beat, supportive, cheering person but man, I was steamed haha! Seriously bashing on the pics was what got me, I mean for real, you CAN SEE THE SHRINKING IN YOUR PICS. It's like the freaking disappearing woman lol! And for myself I was just like "okay you look at my scale and tell me it's lying to you" haha! We are TOTAL ROCKSTARS for completing AND LOVING this craziness, it seriously takes a sick person to keep coming back for more of Shaun T and these workouts . I think we rock and we will keep rocking it baby!!!!!!! On the friend front super bummer . It is nice when you have an actual physical person who is doing the same thing as you, to talk to, do the workouts with sometimes, etc. That is tough. It is weird that it's semi-competition mode now, you would think that she would be excited that you are both doing such a great job. Maybe talk to her about how you feel like it has turned into something different than what you intended it to be? Who knows, maybe she is just so excited about it and your results that she wants to share it with other people. You know you can come on here every day and one of us will be ranting about how our butt is insane sore, or our arms feel detached from our body, or how we slipped on our own sweat trying to do suicide runs LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it up, you will do great and you are already so strong and amazing!!!!!!!

Okay girls, I think I am going to have to hit these Max Workouts at the butt crack of dawn :D. If not, then it will suck trying to keep an eye on the 9 month old AND the 4 year old while Shaun T is killing me for an hour. I will let you know how tomorrow morning goes (5:45am oh just shoot me lol) hopefully I will be able to dig deep that early!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOT!

Gooooooooood Morning Girls!

MAX INTERVAL CIRCUIT TODAY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG that completely SUCKED LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! I told hubby "I forgot how HARD these workouts are" when he came in the living room this morning. Haha, he was like "it's your own fault for subjecting yourself to this torture" lol! Man, but it was SOOOOOOOOOO much better than the first time I started the second month. Still really freakin hard, but I didn't feel like I was going to die, and I was able to complete the circuits pretty much with no rest. THEN I went to the gym because I am training a friend of mine and did minutes of cardio and upper body strength. I am going to be working out on top of the Max workouts this time, so we will see how that works out! Hope you all have a great day DIGGING DEEPER!

Hi all!

Pure Cardio / Cardio Abs: completed

It's Monday and I'm in a super duper great mood. Only 5 days left of Month 1.
This has truly been the most INSANE month of my life. :carrot: I CAN NOT believe that a workout that seemed impossible to do on Day 5 is now freaking fun! I'm still sweating, cussing and screaming at Shaun T but that's to be expected. But I'm also starting to enjoy the circuits. :dizzy: All of a sudden, I feel like a kid. Trying to see how high I can jump in the air. Don't get me wrong....it's not easy but at least I'm enjoying myself more.

munstermommy: I'm still shocked that you get up sooooooooooo early and knock out your Insanity workout! Now, that shiz IS bananas! My cousin wants to come over at 6 am on Wed. to do PlyoCC before work. I'm praying he oversleeps cause I'm not sure there's enough coffee in world to get me that motivated. Maybe he'll forget...and I'll turn off my ringer. :smug:

Melissa: Hey girl...hope you had a kickazz workout today! Try to not let the issues w/ your cousin bring you down. It's always fun to share the journey with friends/family but you never know how that's gonna turn out. Folks get competitive quick and forget how important it is to keep the support system going! Hopefully, you guys can talk about it. On the upside, you have been a tremendous support to me! Those first few days were rough. Thanks again! You know your 3FC buddies got yo back!!! Keep on digging deeper!
:grouphug:

Well it's time for me to call it a night. Gotta rest up for Cardio Power & Resistence.

Dangerous- Thanks girl!! It has tremendously helped me being able to come on here and talk to and get support from others who are doing the same thing! Honestly talking about it was what got me through the first month... can't back down from something when you are posting it all over the web LOL... I know exactly what you mean... for real when I took the first fit test I thought to myself... there is not fricken way I can do this... now day 44 and I think my love hate relationship is progressing to just love! Had max cardio conditioning yesterday and felt like a beast! Gonna start to kick it into high gear now and really push myself...

munstermommy: You are a fricken beast!! Way to go on starting month two with a bang! I think I am finally starting to fall into the rhythm of the max workouts! Tore up max cardio with no extra breaks... was a great feeling! Can't wait to start all over... month one will be a breeze after this hahaha...

So I asked my cousin if she would wait a week for me (should have said "since I waited two weeks to start for you")... she said no, which is what I expected. Her and her friends are starting the 3rd and they don't want to wait so whatever, it is what it is!! I started a page on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/myInsanityworkoutchallenge) to talk about insanity on so my family and friends don't think I'm obsessed hahaha....

On another note... either my scale is broke or I am starting to get some pay off... not gonna celebrate yet BUT... down another 4 pounds for a total of 20! I about wet myself with excitement hahahaha

Hey Girls!

So hit the Max Plyo this morning early OMG I was so tired that I felt like CRAP during the warmup lol! Woke up with a nasty headache and soooooooooooo didn't want to push play but I knew if I didn't, then it wouldn't get done. So, hit it hard, and man it killed me lol! It was just one of those mornings. Finished it out after much cursing of Shaun T and was so thankful when it was over LOL! Hit the gym and did sprint/incline intervals and Jacob's Ladder. Hoping for a good loss this week, Month 2 is where I lost the most last time so here's to hoping!

dangerous-HAHA turn off that ringer and then you can say "wow my phone didn't even RING I wonder what happened?" LOL! I think that I have to do it early otherwise it is too hard with the 2 LOs hanging around. I can't let them just chill for an hour while I crack out Shaun T's craziness lol! It does get "fun" because you feel like such a bada$$ I think lol! Keep working you are doing great!

Melissa-YAY GIRL! Great job, you are doing so amazing! I wish I lost as quickly as you are, I still have 15 lbs to go and they seem to be coming off so slowly :(. Oh well, I hope that this second month shaves off at least 6-8 and then I will come down from there. Bummer on your friend not wanting to wait for you . But we will be here, and I am going to start Month 2 again right after I finish THIS month 2 so I will still be on here needing support haha! Keep working, 4 lbs is no freakin joke! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

See you ladies later, have to get DD from naptime!

Hey chicks!

I've had a crazy busy week so far. Honestly, I'm kinda losing my mind. Plus I'm a bit sleep deprived because my cousin actually showed up this morning!!! :yikes: I set my alarm for 5:45 am and sure enough at 6 am he called and said he was on the way. (I should have listened to you guys and just turned off my ringer. :D)

After he call, I jumped out of bed and put on my sneakers. Did you know it really dark at 6am? My eyes didn't focus for like 2-3 mins. LOL I know...I'm a hot mess.

I got everything ready and popped in Pure Cardio. <---- Not my scheduled workout. But you have to throw me a bone if you want me to sweat before the crack of dawn! He showed up and we got the job done. Not my absolute best effort. Probably due to the fact that I'd didn't have time to eat. :dizzy: Oh well...maybe next week. Feels good to train like a bada$$ first thing in the morning!

Speaking of bada$$, do you guys watch shows like One Man Army, Navy Seal Training and American Ninja? I love em...they inspire me so much to get "mentally tough" when I'm working out.

Keep digging deeper!

Hey ladies...please tell me you haven't abandoned me! :fr:

Today's workout was brutal but well worth the effort. :carrot: I think I'm gonna miss the INSANE circuits during my Recovery Week. One more day left! Woo-hoo! :D

Planning on adding a few 3-6 miles interval runs next week. I've truly missed running on the treadmill with my ipod. While I'm having a dance party in my head! Good times.

Well I've got to eat before I kick over. Dang...I'm absolutely starving!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Nope, still hanging strong here dangerous! Hubby's bday was yesterday so on top of Insanity workout, gym workout, and the LOs, I decided it would be a good idea to strip wallpaper, paint, and redecorate the bathroom for hubby for his bday. OMG NOT A GOOD IDEA LOL!!!!!! I was soooooooooo tight today during Max Interval Circuit it sucked lol! On the running front, I did the same during Recover week, some tempo runs, sprint/incline intervals, etc. It feels REALLY GOOD lol! Keep at it, wow I can't believe you are almost in recovery week so close to the TRUE CRAZINESS lol! I am done for the day, hit MIC and the gym to train a friend (cardio/abs good times :)) so now I am finishing the bathroom lol! Hope you have a great day dangerous, and that the rest of the ladies do too. Dig deep today girls!

I am just gonna apologize first and warn ya... this is probably gonna be a "Rant"...

Sorry guys, it has been awhile... I have been do crazy busy lately doing first grade homework!! Boy it sure isn't like it use to be when I was in school... honestly how much homework can a first grader have... a **** load if you live in Florida... poor kid!! Homework everynight and no recess at school... what is the world coming to??? Ugggg INSANE!

So I told you guys I asked my cousin to wait a week and she said no, well I created a page on FB (https://www.facebook.com/myInsanityworkoutchallenge) to talk about it and posted on my personal page (https://www.facebook.com/Melissa.And.Nick) that I was creating a page to talk about Insanity (with others who want to)... since a bunch of people were getting sick of hearing about it... and I also posted that I was looking for a buddy to start the 10th... she commented that it was my fault for starting over (that we couldn't be buddy's)... no biggie but then went on to say she was thinking about creating a page "for her and her girls"... my "spidey sense" started tingling... just seems a little competitive now, it is almost like we never started together, but maybe I am just being weird about it... anyways she asked for a link to my page and I sent it to her then asked for hers and she never sent it or "liked my page"..... so whatever I let it go. Then the other day I saw she posted something about almost being done so being the supportive person I am I posted something to her...

"Congrats on the 2 days left!! "In your face" to all those who though InsanityŽ (https://www.facebook.com/Insanity) was too hard for us! Who is laughing now (us!!!) hahahaha ... Starting over the 10th so I will be only a week behind ya on round 2!! So so SO glad we decided to do this program... I am addicted to digging deep and pushing my limits with the sexy Mr. Shaun T (https://www.facebook.com/shauntfitness)... oh happy days LOL.... wait do you hear that? Queen is in the background playing "We are the Champions"..... lmao!"

No response.... then last night I posted something On my page... Since a friend called and said she got her wedding pics back and was ready to start "Insanity" with me the 10th....

"My friend Sarah Green (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=659330533) said she will start InsanityŽ (https://www.facebook.com/Insanity) October 10th when I begin my second round (And I'm gonna hold her to it)!!!!"

She commented "Ur not taking any time off in between?? U should take at least a week off."

I said "Nope going right into round two... told ya I herd Queen hahahaha"

She Said "LOL Idk about that tho, I think you should give ur muscles some time to recoup you may be doing more harm than good. I would talk to a coach or Google that."

me: "I have talked to a few people who went right into a second round... and I did google it hahaha that is why I asked ya to wait a week... Think I will be ok... keeps my momentum going LOL. Everyone told me not to start over and I did, they said it would burn me out but it hasn't... here I am day technically 47 but really 61 and my muscles are fine... plus my road is a lot longer than yours so I have to work harder to get to the destination HAHAHAhahahaha

I then had a couple beach body coaches comment after that who were all basically like " I think that is a great idea going right into round two".... Do you guys sense a competitive vibe or is it just me??? Doesn't feel very supportive that's for sure but again maybe it is just me....

UGGgggg enough with the DRAMA....

Workouts are still going GREAT! I swear I feel like I am doing better in month two than I did in one... fricken weird LOL... LOVE love LoViNg it now... I have been telling everyone I turned into a Junkie and Shaun T is my drug dealer (an association I am sure he wouldn't appreciate but I think it is pretty funny LOL)...

Woooooo Hooooooo today is day 48 baby... creeping up on 63!!

CONGRATS GUYS!! Keep up the good work.... Dig Deep!!

Hey ladies!

Beachbody Insanity MONTH 1: COMPLETED :woohoo:

Without a doubt, I know that I've never worked out this hard in my life! I am so damn proud of myself! :carrot: Overcoming major mental/physical obstacles is the fast track to increased self-confidence and self-esteem.

Next week, I have a ton of different workouts planned. I'm looking forward to the treadmill runs. Plus some full body circuits w/ The Firm, and a couple hip hop dance dvds. And on top of all that, the CC & Balance. :dizzy: It's actually not as crazy as it sounds. It's just varied so I don't get bored or lose momentum before Month 2 starts.

munstermommy: Kudos to you for giving the gift of a DIY project to your husband for his birthday! That's so damn cool. :) What a lucky hubby you have. ** Hey- I always forget to ask if you're certified for PT. I'm thinking about getting certified in Zumba or Turbo Kick in the spring. Was wondering if I should study for ACE testing first.

Melissa: As far as I can tell, there definitely seems to be some serious competition going on. :( What a shame. As my nephew would say, "Let your haters be you motivaters!" Now go...Rock It Out! ** BTW: Congrats on the recent 4 lb weight loss.! That's freaking AMAZING! :bravo:

Thanks again ladies for all your support this month! It really made a difference and gave me the extra boost I needed to keep going. :grouphug:

KEEP DIGGING DEEP

Hey Girls!

I had to hit Max Plyo Interval today because I took yesterday off instead of today. It was a crazy day, and I wasn't feeling super great so it was a good switch because today I knocked that workout OUT lol! I went to the gym after too and did cardio with some sprint intervals and then lifted weights for an extra hour or so of workout time! Feeling super good this afternoon! I hope that you ladies are having a great end of the weekend, it is too short, I wish that I could make them last longer :( lol!

Melissa-Hey can't let anyone hold you down or hold you back, you are doing so great! I didn't take any time off, I went right into the circuit and I felt fine. I also workout another 1-1.5 hours on top of Insanity now 6 days a week and I am fine so I don't know what she is talking about lol! I think you just need to do what is best for YOU because she isn't really helping to support you at this point. It is good that you started the FB page and are keeping it real! I think that you are doing so amazing, and don't you love getting closer to that day 63? When you get there it is such an amazing sense of accomplishment I am telling you! Keep up the great work, you are awesome!

dangerous-WOOHOO recovery week lol! I think you will find the workout is a good "compliment" to other things you will be doing since it is more about core and overall muscle strength than kicking your a$$ lol! I think what you have in mind is really good :D. I have done PT in the past before I had kids (and I am looking to get back into it now because I could make my own hours lol) and I have a degree in Anatomy and Physiology. I think doing the ACE testing for GFI (group fitness instructor) would be a great thing to start with for wanting to teach classes. That way you have a general base and then you can specialize if you want to. If you want to take their PT program it is good also, and there are many others out there like ISSA, etc. I think you would be great! Here we go girl, gear up for the week after next, you will be so stoked at the end :D.

Okay ladies, have an awesome day and here's to Month 2 baby!

Hey guys! :)
I just did my first Insanity fit test. Ohmygossshh it's tough. Tougher than I thought. But I did it. And I'm going to stick with it.
I pushed myself harder than I ever thought I could this morning. Toward the end I kind of felt like I was going to throw up. Is that bad? :/
I feel FANTASTIC now though. I have loads of energy, and I'm ready to take on today and the rest of these 62 days! :)

Jessica- WELCOME! My first fit test was the same way... thought I was gonna pass out and choke on my own vomit!! actually after words I was kicking myself thinking "wtf did you just get yourself into"... Hey Girls!

Max Cardio Conditioning today :D. I like it since it is shorter lol! I swear though, there are moves in there I don't think I will be able to do EVER at the same speed as the cast members lol! Oh well, keep digging and get through it right?! Hit the gym too, and trained my friend who said she has lost 4 lbs since we started :D. That made my day! Hope we all have a great week, 3 weeks left until Round 2 is KNOCKED OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's do it girls!

Jessica-I think that feeling is typical of the first day of Insanity lol! Almost everyone I have seen that is "normal" (not currently an elite athlete or sports person) has that same reaction haha! So great job and keep going! It is COMPLETELY worth it I promise you! You will have that same energized feeling as the workout go on too! It is AWESOME :D.

Melissa-:o Thanks! I just feel like I have so much more endurance and want to get back into running shape (10k races) and I WANT TO RUN FAST!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL. Before it was enough just to run, and finish, now I want to KICK A$$. I want to win my age division and kick the crap out of other people and I think Insanity has set me up to be able to do just that! You are doing great, keep digging, you are so close to finishing that first round!

Okay ladies, I think I have Max Interval tomorrow, pray for me lol! That one always kills me...59 minutes of Shaun T kicking my butt ahhhhh! DIG DEEPER :D.

I stumbled upon this thread via a google search for Insanity weight loss. You ladies have inspired me to keep pushing through this program. I'm actually on Day #43. Month 2 definitely requires digging way deeper but it is totally worth it. I'm not losing as much weight but I've lost inches and notice curves and muscles that did not exist before.

It's about 9pm where I am right now. I did my first workout 15 hours ago, and I'm just now feeling sore.
REALLY sore.
My shoulders and biceps, my calves and hamstrings, my abs, my obliques- EVERYTHING is sore.
I watched the Plyometric Cardio Circuit DVD. I'm going to DIEEE tomorrow morning!

On Sunday, I skipped my rest day and did Yoga Booty Ballet "Hip hop abs." I don't know why, but I just love that workout. Makes me smile every time. :)

Yesterday, was my first day of Recovery Week. And all I have to say about Core Cardio & Balance is, it's sooooooo dang slow that I wanted to scream! :D (Shaun T- What have you done to me? I was desperate for you to scream "Come on yall!" just one time!) Seriously, it was a good workout. I'm just a glutton for pain now.

Today's workout is a 5k on the treadmill and CC & Balance. :carrot:

munstermommy: Thanks for info on PT. I've only vaguely heard about ISSA, so I guess I have some research to do. I totally agree with you that INSANITY lights a fire under you. I'm in a similar mindset. In the past, I've had the luxury of not having to work too hard to look pretty good. (genetics)

Now that I'm in my 30's, I know I have to work much harder to maintain. Then I discovered INSANITY, and it's like someone turned the light on inside me. I want to kick major a$$! Next year's racing season is going to be too much fun. Cause I know without a doubt I'm going to be in the best shape of my life!

Melissa: Believe me when I tell you, I'm in awe of you and munstermommy! Cause you guys are kicking major a$$ with kids and a hubby! :cheer: I'm single w/ NO kids! I don't have one good excuse for NOT working out. Except maybe...I'm missing Happy Hour w/ the girls.
Btw: What workout are you on? And how's it going? I enjoy your updates. Maybe I should check your blog. Keep digging deeper! :)

:welcome3: Jessica and Peachyfuture

Jessica: Girl, I've gonna just tell you like it is. The first week is ROUGH! You will be sore and you're going to question why you ever started. But remember you CAN do it! Maybe not as fast and perfect as Shaun T and his super fit buddies. But you CAN do it! Keep pushing and dig deeper.

Peachy: I'm glad you stumbled upon this thread! We're an INSANE bunch and super supportive of each other. Stick around and share your journey.

Melissa- I'm definitely having the 'wtf did I get myself into' thoughts right now. And the whole passing out/wanting to puke feeling. I'm glad I'm not the only one. :)
I'm not going to quit though!
I did my first plyometric cardio circuit this morning.
OH MY GOD it was brutal. I don't think I've ever worked out harder in my life than I did this morning. But I'm glad that I got through it, and I'm SO glad that I have cardio recovery tomorrow. :) My sore muscles are going to need it.
This forum is definitely keeping me motivated. :) After my workout, I always think "Man, I can't wait to go on the forum and tell everyone what I did this morning and see how everyone else is doing."
All of my other friends are pretty much naturally thin, so they don't ever really work out- so it's not exactly something I talk to them about. :P

So I did Max Interval Circuit yesterday and my husband said he wanted to do it with me (never having done one singe day before that)... Normally I would have said H*LL NO, but I figured since he wanted to jump right in and play with the big dogs I would let him LOL... Needless to say he made it about halfway and decided riding his bike in the park might better suit him HAHAHAHAHAhahahahah  He was pretty surprised at the intensity... he was even sweatier than Shaun T was at the end (kinda felt bad for him... but only a tiny bit hahaha) He is thinking about starting with me on round two... which is both good and bad, noticed when he was with me working out I REALLY dug deep.. maybe a wee bit too deep... But maybe that's just what I need to get me to the next level...

Wheeeeeeeewww Max Plyo today... my shoulders kill right now hahaha... ONLY 12 DAYS LEFT of round one Wooooooo Hooooooooo :hat::woohoo:Then on to round two...

Hope you guys had GREAT workouts today!!

munstermommy & dangerous, I completely agree with you guys, there is something about this program that just lights a fire under ya... even when I started this I was thinking I'll do it once... not gonna turn into a workout junkie... but I think it has been just the thing I have needed to get me going and keep me going! Already planning on doing so much more after this which is INSANE!

peachyfuture- :welcome2: Congrats on day 43! This is a tough program!!! I just finished day 51, Can't wait to get to 63 and do it all over lol... We are all a bunch of Insanity nuts here... the more the merrier!!! :grouphug:

Jessica- I feel ya! The first week is honestly hands down the worse... It will get better though (THANK GOD!)... I know what you mean about it being hard to talk to people. All my friends are mostly twigs too... and they all seem to have mega metabolisms... and the ones that aren't don't want to hear about me working out and dieting LOL.... So it is nice to be able to come on here!!

Hey Girls!

Max Interval Circuit today-OMG that has to be the worst circuit EVER lol!!!!!!!! It is sooooooooooo long and freaking seriously kicks my butt every time! I really don't think that any of the max workouts will ever seem "easy" no matter how many rounds I do or what I add to my workout regimen lol! Hit the gym for cardio and then I did a Pilates class because I realized I need the breathing/core/stretching as a counterpoint to this craziness. It wasn't easy I will tell you that. I am in great shape but it still took a lot of effort to do everything correctly and I am stoked to add it in twice a week :D. I just realized that I am at a point where everything is a "2" week/month/round lol! That will only happen once :D. I am thinking after I do another month 2 I am going to get back into race training and man I know I am going to be FAST! I can't wait to hook back up with my training buddies and show them how kick a$$ I am now LMAO!!!!!!!!! Hope you girls had a good morning, and that we all have another good day then...RECOVERY DAY THURSDAY YAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!! :carrot::carrot:

Melissa-OMG I can't believe it you are sooooooooo close to finishing Round 1 :carrot:! So amazing! I can't wait for you to find out how you feel on week 1 of Round 2, I swear you feel like the most amazing stud on the face of the planet when you bust out Plyo Circuit doing like a million squat jacks lol! You will kick butt!!!!!!!! I am with you for another month of month 2 so I will be here still! I am also going to continue to do Insanity about 3 times a week for cross training when I start running again, probably a few Max workouts and Max Recovery. Keep working woman, you are doing AWESOME!!!!!!

Jessica-Just like Melissa said the first week is the absolute worst, you feel like heck (lol) and every muscle is screaming during each workout. IT WILL GET BETTER!!!! Stick with it and come on here to vent how much you hate Shaun T for kicking your a$$ but how much you love him because you are getting into crazy shape lol! Here's the thing with naturally thin friends-you will be able to say at then end of this that you have completed one of the toughest workouts out there, COULD THEY HAND WITH YOU? HECK NO!!!!!!!!!! So being skinny is one thing, but being in ridiculous, kick your a$$, look at my shiny pretty muscles, you could bounce a quarter off my a$$ or any other part of my anatomy shape is SO-MUCH-BETTER!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Keep it up!!!!!!!!!!

dangerous-Core cardio and balance is a little bit boring, that is why I added some stuff to it for Round 2. I know how you feel, almost put out that there is no yelling, or at least some sweaty pointing through the tv! HAHA! It is nice though to give those muscles a tinsy break, so enjoy it because you KNOW that they are going to get a beating starting 5 days from now lol! Keep working through it and you will get all the excited, butt kicking Shaun T you can handle in a few days lol .

peachyfuture-HELLO! Welcome to our craziness venting thread lol! We love Insanity and we have a lot to talk about :D. Keep working, don't let that motivation flag you won't regret it I PROMISE!!!!!!!!!

Okay girls, going to get baby girl up from nap and lunch and DS ready for school. Hope you all had a great time digging deep and one more day till recovery yesssssssssss!
