I hope to be spending quite a bit of time here learning from you all, so I thought I would introduce myself.

My name is Lori and I will be 40 in a few weeks (ouch!). That age seemed so old when my mom reached it, and I can't believe that I will soon be that old. I was hoping to be a sexy 40-year old, but that didn't happen, so maybe I'll make it for 41!

I'm married and have a 4 year old daughter who keeps me VERY busy! I work full-time and in my "free time" try to keep up with everything at home. I've become one of those women who puts everyone else ahead of herself, so now I'm trying to actually focus on myself.

I'm right back where I started 5 years ago when I lost 40 lbs on WW, which seemed really easy. I've tried joining WW several times since and it's not nearly as easy. So, this time I'm trying it on my own. My plan is to eat more (some!) fruits and veggies, cut out the crap and try to exercise more. I know it's going to take a while, but my favorite saying is "If your feet are pointed in the right direction, all you have to do is keep walking." So, I'll get there sometime!

:wel3fc: You've found a great place for support. Stick around and you will do great! I didn't start losing until I was 44. It's great to get healthy at any age. I love your quote too, you should definitely put that in your signature.

Welcome! I think you'll like it here in the 100lbs club! There are a lot of women here who have lost a LOT of weight and KEPT it off. They are my mentors :)

I look forward to getting to know you!

I started my little journey when I was just 2 months shy of 43, so you're waaaay ahead of me. And without a doubt, I am feeling better, stronger and yup - sexier then when I was in my 20's and 30's. I'm 45 now and having an absolute blast. Every day is like a holiday walking around in a trim and fit body.

Anyway, I'm glad you're here. This is a phenomenal place for support, encouragement and advice. :)

Hi,

I'm pretty new here, but this is definitely a great place and I'm so inspired by all of the people who are way ahead of me.

Welcome.

Glad to have you on the team, Lori! I can tell by the attitude you show in your post that you are going to fit right in!

You have already taken the hardest step on this journey to better health ---the first one. You have taken a look at where you are and decided you just flat out deserve better; you know what has to be done and you are confident that you can accomplish it --- and you are absolutely right! I look forward to reading more about your journey. Welcome!
