DC - WOW, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations do not seem to cover it! You look great and I know that you must feel wonderful. Out hiking!

Your upper arms look like they have handled the weight loss very well. You look great in a short sleeve shirt. I am afraid that the skin on my upper arms will hang down to my wrists.

Ha, not in a closeup.

Well, to be completely honest...I will never wear sleeveless without major surgery, which I have no interest in getting. The skin underneath is a bit thin and crepey. However, I have done A LOT of MAJOR HEAVY LIFTING since March. Like, March - June. Full-body, not targeted, with 25-30 lb dumbbells.

If I had liposuction and skin removal today, next week my arms would look better than Linda Hamilton's in T2. However, they're never going to look like that without surgery, which I don't want.

Even with the remaining fat and extra skin, I have delt/tri/bi definition. And I am very hopeful that by the time I reach the 190s-180s, I will feel comfortable in a short-sleeved shirt, at least. Right now I only wear long or 3/4th inch sleeves, period. I was only wearing that t-shirt because we were hiking in 100 degrees.

But if I have to wear 3/4th length sleeves the rest of my life, so be it. I have worked too hard to worry about my arms. I look good in 3/4th length sleeves, they're easy to find, and I frankly don't care anymore. Another added bonus of being over 40. :)

Yeah, you know, frankly, once I get to 199, every pound lost from there will just be bonus. You know, icing. :) I must say, I started out 50% pretending to have a good attitude and 50% really having one...it gets easier. Now I'm only like 5% pretending.

Aww, thanks everybody. Big hug for seagirl especially. If I get to your starting weight, I'll probably be right around my goal weight, funny that we're the same height. We just all carry weight differently.

Last time I was 190 I was only a little overweight. Right now I'm 5'8 and hovering around 250, and my size 18s are falling off. Some 16s fit, some are a bit too snug for public. I carry my weight very evenly distributed and I'm very strong and muscular. (Partly from picking up 50-75 lb hounds and carrying them around!)

I have a good friend who started WW a few months after I restarted Atkins. She's a couple inches taller than me, weighs 190, and we are the exact same size, we trade clothes all the time. Most of my friends who know about weight and dieting (i.e. not the skinny clueless ones :) ) think I weigh around 200 lbs.

Wow, you look amazing! Is your friend who you switch pants with around my height then? Because I wore a 14 at 190 (still do now but now I can squeeze into 12's and they're getting closer and closer to actually fitting! :D)

Megwini, my friend is a shade over 5'10 and I am allllmost 5'8 if I stand up very, very tall. She has fairly thin arms and legs, no boobs to speak of, and carries most of her weight in her butt, thighs and tummy. Her goal weight is 125. Last time she weighed 130 she was still a bit flabby right around the middle and thinks 125 will be perfect. I think my bones and internal organs weigh more than 125. I'd die of starvation before I got to that weight. 150 for me will probably be way too thin in fact. I'd love to get out of the overweight category, which would be high 160s. I don't want to be "thin" just healthy and look good.

I, otoh, am large everywhere. I wear a size 12/13 shoe and men's XL gloves. I can palm a basketball. I can also pick up 77 lb dogfood bags from the vet's office, sling them on my shoulder in a fireman's carry, and walk them out to my suv no hands. I have never tested to see how much I can deadlift but I'm sure it would be over 100 lbs.

I have a relatively small waist but big everywhere else - My measurements as of this morning were 44.5-35.5-46.5. I'm just big all over, and that's why my friend and I are 60 lbs apart but wear the same size. Some things look better on her since the arms & legs are often tight on me--but fitted things look a lot better on me than on her since I have a huge rack. :) She doesn't even wear a bra half the time, no one notices. If I tried to leave the house without a bra (not that I would!) I'd probably be arrested!

The human body is an amazingly diverse thing. All our friends think my friend and I weigh about the same, but we are nowhere near one another in weight, just in size. Pant size, she can't get 16s to zip yet but the 18s are floaty. For me, I have some old 16s I can only pull halfway up my butt but all my old 18s are roomy. In new stuff, I am a solid 16 though.

I just had this discussion with my friend who is 12-14, but to me looks like an 8. Which is why everyone needs to find their happy shape - comparisons just wont work unless its with your identical twin! ;)

ps. You look so much smaller than a 16!!!!!
