Can you gain 5 LBS in 10 days?
Can you gain 5 LBS in 10 days? I just got back from vacation. I had a weekend reunion and then went camping for a week. I didn't exercise much. Just a little walking. But could have done better with the food choices too.
Why did I do this? I didn't plan my food like I should have.

YUP but I'm pretty sure it isn't ALL fat. I gained 3.5 lbs in 9 days on one vacation and was super careful about my food choices, too. My bet is that you put on some weight, but are carrying excess water due to different food choices, salt, dehydration, and inactivity.
Get back on plan. The number is what it is. Make this a new start point. Change your ticker and acknowledge this. Learn from it. And get right back on plan...

I gained 10 lbs in 6 days while on my last vacation. I did manage to drop 6 lbs rather quickly so that was obviously water weight, but those other 4 lbs was all good eats.

Sure, I can gain 5 lbs in a day! Just get back on plan, and drink lots of water. Most of it is probably fluid retention and you'll be rid of it soon.
Planning is key. But so is forgiveness and realizing that we are not perfect!

I can do that with my eyes shut but like the others have said, it'll likely be mostly water. I recently gained 1.5lbs in a week of very, very careful eating (within the confines of restaurant menus) but in the week following, I lost that 1.5 AND 5 more. So with meticulous planning, I did lose weight, it was just masked by water.
Best thing to do, though, is not to assume it's 'just' water, and get right back onto the waggon. Good luck!

I think I gained 8 pounds on my vacation of 11 days. Five of it came off within a week! Just get right back on track, and you'll be fine.

It would be easy for me to gain 5 lbs. in 10 days but, if it was really fat, I would know that I had eaten a large quantity of high fat foods. Whenever I travel I put on the water weight which will come off in a few days.
I am like the others, get back on plan and don't worry about it.

When I fly I tend to retain water. Could I gain five pounds in ten days? Oh yeah. ABSOLUTELY.

I could (& have - more then once) gained 5 lbs in 10 hours. I can't imagine the havoc I could wreak not being on plan for 10 days.
Yes, by all means, get back to that healthy eating ASAP. And before you know it, another 10 days will pass and you'll have a nice chunk of it gone.

Yikes! Been there, done that! LOL
Into every life and plan will drop some chaos (which always seems to travel with some loose pounds of fat to leave under the bed, isn't that strange?) --- just jump right back in with both feet. You will be fine! (Did you have a good trip?)
So, how are you doing on food and water so far today?

Yep yep yep! It's probably mostly sodium but some could be weight weight. Stick closely to your plan and it will come back off. But you already know that so *hugs* and it sucks and I'm sorry. But you'll get it back off.

I gained 9 pounds in 10 days on vacation. Luckily, the weight came off in like 1.5 weeks, so it was most likely partly water, etc.

Oooh yes it's possible, but it's also unlikely you overate your normal calories by 15,000 or more, or you'd know. So don't beat yourself up - a week on plan should rectify any water gains and show your true status

I can easily gain 5 pounds in 2 really bad days and take over 2 weeks on plan after to lose it.
