Lisa, Thanks! and I hope you made it to your class okay... snow in the Seattle area is pretty rare, no?? That's crazy!
Reporting in that I did actually walk the 5k (3.2miles) today. Wanted to time myself for a 5k to get a baseline (49minutes). AND I actually registered for the 5k in April, so it's all official now! Like I've said, I always hated exercise, but it's been sorta great this week! (5.7miles total so far!) Maybe I just hated it when I was lugging around so much extra weight!?! :o Anyways, thanks all for the extra motivation. Gearing up to start the C25K in March or some modified version of it!

Tried the chicken and spinach with eggplant today, at first it looked horrid, but I dumped it all into one bowl, added a little (1tsp) Parmesan and it was not too bad. Gotta go take the little rug rat dog out, he loves the snow, but gets huge ice balls on his feet & belly :dizzy:

Crap, crap ... I had a really bad day and screwed up. Without giving away family stuff I had red wine and some cashews for dinner the next couple of days may be tough. Since my family does not know I am doing this diet ...

Day 11, and I have to say it's been a good day so far. I didn't weigh in again, but I'm feeling good. Today I've had a bagel for breakfast, and the philly style chicken for lunch - and I have to say that it was quite yummy. For a early morning snack it was a swiss roll...very satisfying. I plan on weighing in first thing tomorrow morning, so I'll keep you posted:-)

Hi All, - Trying to keep track of my calories, protein, carbs, etc - does anyone happen to know the numbers for the High protein bagel and cream cheese? It came packaged in its own little baggy which was too small I guess for the nutrition information. Maybe I should email the dietitian??
Welcome Danni!
Glad to hear you had some good meals lately, Staffing Chick!

Jen516- Thank you so much for the calorie list. As for the 5k...too cool!
Danni-Welcome from me too.
Still at 150, scale isn't budging. Hoping to make my mini-goal by the end of this month. Looks like it might not happen though. We'll see. Giving it my very best effort. I love to write out lists...To Do, eating schedules, toddler schedules, calories, dinner plans, Mini-goals, etc. found a whole stack of old ones stuck on the fridge today. Was thinking, as many lists as I have made, it sure would be nice to accomplish my mini-goals made here. Might have to tweak the deadlines a bit as I get closer to goal weight. We are leaving for vacation the end of March and will be gone for three weeks. Plan on visiting husband's family and boy do those people know how to cook fattening food! Also going to Italy. Is there anything low calorie to eat in that country?
I also cook meals for my husband and toddler. Husband likes european, spicy foods. Toddler likes everything I do =) Between all this food preparation, I also have a hard time not trying it out. It's pretty bad when you are eyeing your 2 year old's PBJ sandi, testing your will power as far as taking his last uneaten bite! My husband has a huge dish to last him every week. No room in the freezer to freeze half of it, b/c my BMD meals are carefully stacked in there!
Hubby will be home any minute, should go. Bye for now.

Hi all,
Managed to stay on track the past two days. Will weigh in tomorrow and post new stats. Enjoying my week off and have done really well, except the wine and cashew dinner the other night, but I could have total went off the rails and was only at 1700 calories for the day, as the wine & small handful of cashews were my dinner and snack. Not too bad considering I am an emotional eater. :o
Just received my delivery and see that some new meals were included. Had the steak wrap for lunch today, so much better than the other one, which hopefully on my next order is eliminated.
Congrats to all of you that are having success this week.

Hi all,
Well I weighed the same ... Darn scale sometimes I don't even want to weigh because I know I get so depressed when I don't go down, let's just hope for a big loss next week :?:
Jenn, thanks for posting that chart. That helps me with the snack portions and I was wondering about the bagels. I think I will try and stick with fruit and some sort of protein instead of the protein bars for snacks. I may also get the 17 day book since I can't eat this food forever. My husband keeps grilling me about how I am going to eat and how long I am going to buy this food. Jeez. I would like to get down to 150 and then try and lose the remainder eating on my own.
Going to run down and see my mom today, and try and time my lunch around that, sometimes on the weekends I get a little behind in schedule, probably will take one of the protein bars with me so I have something that I know I can eat.
Have a great weekend

Hi All - Well, I'm down 3 lbs. My first weigh in since starting a week ago. Hopefully I'll get into a grove with exercising this week. Honestly, while I'm happy about the 3lbs, I really really dread weighing myself. I will be so glad when I can get back to a place where that dread ends - its kind of a mental bummer. I totally know what you're talking about Lisa when that scale doesn't budge. I'm sending you some positive vibes though, stay encouraged!
Jen, thanks for the chart, also! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

No scale change for me this week... Ate okay on my own, but being vacation, I went out with friends and/or family 4 times this week... ! That's a lot of will-power! Frankly, I'm thrilled that I didn't gain. :D On the plus side, I logged a total of 10 miles walking/jogging this week. That's sort of a miracle for me! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, ladies!

Not a good day for food today, guess I was luckily and received food on the first two shipments that I liked, but had a few meals that I really did not care for today. I have added them to my do not send list. I was a little surprised that two of them were sent in the first place since from day one I specified
No spicy or curry meals. But I ate the most that I could of all three and tomorrows meals look like more of what I like. Back to work tomorrow, and since I was home a lot and yesterday I had lunch late, I think I did pretty good overall,

Hi all,
Glad to find this forum!
I just received my first order yesterday, and started today. Had the omelet and canadian bacon for breakfast...I was quite pleased. I mean, five-star dining it aint, but I can live on this for awhile.
I've got about 20 lbs to lose. In the past two years, I've managed to shed 50 already, yet these last 20 are SO daunting! Thanks to a good exercise routine, I've been stable for the last six months despite pretty much ending all dieting, so I'm very hopeful BMD will give me the kick I need. I'm definitely encouraged by some of the results here.
Looking forward to keeping up with all of your progress. I have a feeling this time I'm gonna need a little support. I have plenty to give back!

I'm getting my first shipment this week. I've been doing Diet to Go for 9 weeks and I am sooo frustrated. I've lost a total of 12 pounds, but I lost 8 pounds the first week and a half and only 4 pounds these last 2 months. I've eaten only the Diet to Go food and haven't cheated and have worked out 2 to 3 times a week even though I HATE exercise. My husband, on the other hand, has been on Diet to Go the same amount of time, has not exercised at all and has lost 26 pounds so far. I know that men lose weight faster and I don't expect the same results as him, but it's just so discouraging. I've read of other people not losing very well on Diet to Go. I think I'm just eating too many calories (I'm on the 1600 low fat plan, which is what was recommended for me). I could switch to their 1200 plan, but I've decided to go with Bistro MD and see if I get better results. I did Bistro for a little while about 3 years ago so I know their food is good. When I did it, all their food came in boil-in-bags. I did get a little tired of boiling those bags for every meal so I'm glad they've changed to the black microwaveable trays.
Has anyone switched from Diet to Go to Bistro MD and got better weight loss results?

Hi all,
Welcome skibum and exactor. Had a good day today, got in 25 minutes on the treadmill before work this morning. Had the meatloaf today for lunch, and swapped out the quinoa for the same amount of brown rice, plus I broiled it before I left.
I am still tracking my calories and exercise on lose it app, I like that it uses calories in and calories out. Even received an email that I earned a badge for logging in all my food for two weeks straight.
I have enjoyed most of the breakfasts, I had the cinnamon pancakes for the first time today and I think those are my fav so far. I am averaging less than 1500 calories or less a day adding most days three snacks plus the three meals.
Exactor, that must be frustrating, I am married to a skinny one that has a really good metabolism, whereas mine pretty much sucks LOL, so I can so relate, hang in there.

My meals didn't come at all for some reason this week. I wasn't prepared and I have definately gone over my daily calories. The next shipment is supposed to come this Thursday. Still, I was hoping to make my first mini goal. Not good at dieting solo without meal planning. Tomorrow I had better go grocery shopping. Was eating left over food from a restaurant and meal I had prepared my toddler. Kind of bummed out. I was doing okay until this weekend. My meals always come on Fridays, normally.

Welcome Sarah (skibum) and exactor
I'm a former Diet-to-goer :) - i lost 10 lbs total in the 4.5 months I was on it. I thought my weight loss was slow because i was on the 1200 low fat which had- what seemed like- a lot of starchy carbs (muffins for breakfast, sandwiches and pastas). So i switched to the low carb thinking it would boost my weight loss and boy, did I run into a wall! Primarily because the variety (too much chicken) wasn't working for me, the fat content was super high (the first time I ate the porkchop breakfast, I thought I was going to have a heart attack :dizzy:) plus I grew tired of green beans and brussel sprouts - so long story short, I think it works for some, but just wasn't the best choice for me
Hopped back on the exercise "horse" this morning - felt good to get it in gear and get moving. One day at a time. I've got a few business trips coming up so I hope BistroMD can keep up with the shipping changes - the first time worked out really well.
BMD breakfasts have been pretty good. I don't think I'm a big fan of Canadian bacon so I may make some changes there, but I agree with LB, I've enjoyed most of the breakfast meals.
I had the chicken pesto for lunch - similar experience to my arroz con pollo, not thrilled about that particular chicken dish. Anyone have a similar "iffy" experience or suggestions how to improve?
Have a great week all!

Thanks for the warm welcome all.
Thus far, I've found the breakfast's really good. Crepes w berry and the Spinach Crepes were both tasty. My Chicken Pesto for lunch today was a bomb. Not "the bomb." A bomb. Terrble. Blech. I threw it away. I cooked it from frozen 4 mins in the micro, and it was way overcooked. Lean Cuisine is gourmet next to it.
I'm hoping the lunches and dinners improve. Left to my own choices, I will blow it. Lunch today ended up being a handful of pita chips.
I haven't lost anything in the three days I've been on it, but I feel skinnier. Probably because my tummy has no food in it :(.
I also cancelled my snacks. I can find more healthful organic nut and veggie snacks for the same calories here at Whole Foods. I generally dislike diet food that tries to masquerade as real food, IE low-fat chips. I will keep the ones I got this week for occasional cravings.
Here's hoping dinner tonight is better than lunch!

Sarah - Whole foods is one of my favorite stores, what snacks are you getting from there? I'm always on the look out for snack variety.
Good luck with dinner, if its the Pork tenderloin - I really enjoyed it. Sounds like there may be no saving grace for the Chicken Pesto.... may be changing my profile later this week

Pluto, to the arzzo meal, I mixed it all up and then added 2 tbsp each of salsa and LF sour cream, and it wasn't too bad. I have been following Jen's advice and I add a few things that don't add too much calories, etc, like green onions, salsa, LF sour cream, laughing cow light cheese, I add that to that horrible spinach side, and the plain omelet and it makes it pretty tasty. I also track everything that I add into my lose it app.
So far out of 31 meals, there are only 6 that I have put on my do not send list.
I had the chicken with greek inspired lentils today for lunch at work, didn't think I was gonna like it, but again I added 2 tbsp salsa mixed it all up, and I was pleasantly surprised, it wasn't bad. Either that are I was totally starving :D
Since I don't get the snacks I am really starting to crave some crunchy snacks, I read in an earlier post that Kay's natural snacks are a good substitute. So I have found a few sites that sell them, just don't want to order 20 bags and then find out I don't like em

kifli, sorry to hear about your food, I hope they will send you a refund. I know I had a delay on my first shipment and was stressed the entire time. It took 9 days and almost all the ice was melted, but the food was at least semi frozen so I was able to use it. I did see on the fedex site that there are potential delays in Memphis due to weather when I was checking the progress of my shipment for this week.
When I was counting calories and making my own food, I did make larger meals in the weekend for the week when I was working to make it easier, I ate a lot of the same meals
OMG, hubby is eating fritos not three feet away from me, I could smell them as soon as he started crunching them ... I have got to find some crunchy type of snack for a substitute!!!!

Good Morning All. I really enjoy reading your posts..it's nice to know that there are others who are experiencing the same thing I am. I am giving it one more week, but if the meals don't change to meet my requested specifications, I will probably cancel my shipments. I am still throwing alot of the food away, and it makes me feel so guilty because of the amount of money I am spending on it. My favorite meals are the ravioli, and tortellini - and of course they are the highest calories.lol! I agree with you all about the snacks, and I'll most likely cancel my snacks either way. Hope you guys don't mind if I stay on your thread for awhile, even if I am just calorie counting. As you know, we are going on an extended vacation and I wasn't able to eat my meals this last week, so I am going to take a break from BMD for now. I still have a week's worth of meals coming (they said maybe tomorrow, but are unsure if there will be another delay). I live in California, so it's a long distance from them. Hi all, had the best meals today ... I liked them all:carrot:
I had the berry crepes, yummo, the bangers and mash lunch, and the BBQ brisket for dinner.
I was however extremely hungry today, not sure what that was all about, but I am hoping it is a big melt of fat this week. I can tell that my stomach doesn't seem to stick out as much, LOL. I don't think it was just me cause I wasn't the only one in the office in the break room getting a 3:30 snack.
I did decide to not join an afterwork event planned for tomorrow, I am just too new into this way of eating, plus it is pretty expensive splurge and could possible hurt my weigh in this week. I know I have to learn how to handle those situations and then get back on track, and if I had a little more time in, I would probably go, but I only started this 16 days ago.
I hope you all stay, I think it makes for a good mix to have varying opinions and experiences throughout our journeys. Whether you are currently on BMD or doing your own thing. Also love the pictures of your food joyful loser, thanks for sharing.

Hi all,
Staffing chick, I haven't tried any of those I thought about the alli but wasn't sure how it would work with his plan, because I think you do have some bathroom moments if you don't eat a low fat diet, but I don't know anymore than that. Sorry you are having a bad week, that scale is evil.
Had a hard getting all my food today, I didn't have the time to cut up an apple, let alone eat it, just an extremely stressful day, which is not good for the weight loss, will see how the week went when I weigh in on Saturday, keeping my fingers crossed. Once again I am a little worried about the food delivery, it seems to have stalled in Kentucky.
Does anyone know why they advertise about local delivery in a lot of states, seems like my food has a long way to go to get to WA state, when they advertise delivery from CA. Maybe I will ask in an email, they do seem really helpful on the customer service end of things.

Well I am trying to stay positive, and the meals today have been quite enjoyable. My favorite breakfast - sweet potato pancakes and for lunch I had some Beef dish that was good too. I am hoping to have better results next week since my special "visitor" has just arrived, and I am assuming that is why the scale is not cooperating. Well, tomorrow is the weigh in, but this week has been the perfect storm - Stress to the nth degree at work, traveling and the possibility of my "special" visitor showing up.... Cross your fingers for staying the same or losing a lb.
I had those pancakes also, Staffing Chick - they were great! And the berry crepes, bangers and mash - also awesome! I just received my next delivery and am looking forward to the waffles. Lisa, not sure about the local delivery, but when I was in Maryland, my food arrived on Wednesday. I changed the delivery location to Virginia and it didn't show up until Friday. Strange because it was only a 3 hour driving distance between where I was staying in MD vs. VA.

Not having such a great week myself. Came down with ANOTHER cold, 3 month old baby has been waking up every 2 hours to nurse in middle of night, didn't get my BMD meals, and only lost 1/2 pound (I seem to be at a plateau right now; weight keeps hovering at the 150 mark for the past few weeks). So first mini goal not yet made :( Gonna keep plugging away.
Last night made an asian chicken rice dish with broccoli (found the recipe here). Today made a low fat version of mac-n-cheese with hidden sweet potatoes for my toddler (I think they're pretty obvious). I portioned some out in my BMD containers. Gonna try to keep with the deep orange and deep green (spinach or broccoli) veggies in my meals, like BMD. Also, got my last shipment from BMD today, on-time, so I am good to go for this next week.:D
Wish you guys more weight loss next week! Have a great weekend =)

Having a pretty crappy week. Munching a lot even though I'm not really hungry. Super-cranky and tired. Scale is up. Could be PMSing... not sure what the deal is. Hoping to shake it soon. BUt now I'm starting to feel like a cold is coming on. ugh. On the plus side, I've walked/jogged a total of 12 miles this week. That's more dedicated exercise miles in a week than all of 2010!

Hi all,
Waffles, I must be on a different shipment .. No waffles in my order :(
Maybe next time. I have to say I do love getting that box each Friday, it is like Christmas morning, seeing what's new, putting everything in order in the freezer. In fact my hubby used one of my spots ... And I said move it:devil:
I weighed myself yesterday .. And it ruined my entire day when it was a big fat 0 again, also learned my lesson, weigh on the day you are supposed to, today, I thought WTH, and weighed again and was down 2.5 pounds. The only things different this week was 2, 25 minutes sessions w/10 minutes with weights; then 2, 30 minute sessions w/10 minutes included with the 2 pound weights on the treadmill, plus three days I cut out the third snack and averaged 1200 to 1300 calories each day. I had a lot of stress at work, in fact had a mini meltdown, in a coworkers office, which is something I never do, just too much going on job wise ... Hopefully next week will be better :^:
Kifli, hope your cold gets better, you are doing excellent for a mom who has a toddler and a new baby ... Boy do I remember those days. When you go to Italy, enjoy and then start back up when you get home .... They have too many wonderful foods and I swear I fell in love with their wine ... Still do like it ;)
Today is my cheat day, plan is to have a protein smoothie for breakfast, just finished 30 minutes on treadmill, then I will have the BMD breakfast for lunch & then BMD lunch for dinner along with a couple of glasses of a nice Italian Chianti. I haven't cheated with any "regular" food yet saving that for when I switch over to the 5 day plan. For now my few glasses of wine on Saturday are good for me!
Everyone have a great weekend

Hi All, well the magic number was 1 lb lost on the weigh in - Given the week that I had, I'll take it. It could have easily gone the other way. Lisa, I really like your plan for your cheat day - protein smoothie for breakfast and sliding the BMD meals down to round out lunch and dinner. I think that would work for me - it's way toooo easy still for me to make bad choices for dinner. Case in point, my cheat day meal last week was pizza from California Pizza Kitchen.
Going to try Yoga this evening - wish me luck;)

Just wanted to chime in here about the CHEAT MEAL. I resisted too at first...but then I figured I'd give it a shot. Well...all I can say is that I have NEVER (during this entire 50 lb weight loss process) stalled or had to REDUCE my calorie intake. To the contrary...I've increased my calorie intake as my exercise intensity and time have increased....about 100-200 cals. per day!
For me...my CHEAT meal brought my daily calories to about 2,000-2,200 cals. and was about 800 cals in itself. It came from my favorite Jamaican food restaurant (curried chicken, rice/peas & cabbage....YUM!:D) I did watch my portions (still using my bistromd food trays...haha!) I even weighed my food and made sure it wasn't over 15-16oz. Weighing helped me make sure I didn't perserk...cuz take-out jamaican food is LOADED with fat, sodium and calories!!!
I still do this...but now, I rotate having pizza night with chinese night and then back again to jamaican night...:D
Simply put...BistroMD's program works!!! They know their stuff and if they allow you a "free night"...take it!!! It's good for the mind and the body (helps keep it guessing). Much success and happy eating everyone!

Lost 2 pounds last week bring my total to 5. Real happy so far. Its easier being patient when you really like what you eat.
I kind of go overboard on the cheat night and I think it hurts me. I'd really like some suggestions on what I can make that satisfies some cravings but doesnt wreck all the hard work from the rest of the week.

I received my first shipment last week and so far am happy with the food. I did not make any requests for not sending me certain things yet as I've decided to try everything first and then ask them not to send me the things I don't like. I received everything that was listed on the weekly menu except for one thing, which they doubled up on another meal. Is this common? Can you request the meals you want if they're going to substitute out another meal? When I was doing Bistro MD a few years ago, they had I think 6 different menus (green menu, blue menu, red menu, etc.) that were rotated each week. The menus were listed on their website so you knew what you were going to get every week. I wish they still listed the menus on their website. Do they still cycle through set menus every week, with substitutions made for your preferences? At least if they did that, once I get all of the different weeks I could save the menus and know what was coming up.

Exactor: In my experience over the last 6 months, the menus do not repeat exactly. Meals get srepeated obviously, but not the same menus each week. I also found that if I listed a few meals that I really like, they will try to sub those in when they make a swap. And I noticed last week that I got a couple of substitutions that had nothing to do with my personal requests. It happens occasionally and it used to bother me, but after 6 months, I just eat whatever they send! :D There was one odd instance though -- they were subbing out a lot of the asian meals and I found out it was because I had indicated no shrimp and the meals had oyster sauce in them. I called and they made a note in my file. Glad you had a good first week!

Thanks, Jen! I'll have to remember to let them know when I really like something. I thought you only told them what you didn't like.
BTW, your blog is great! I've read the whole thing and especially like that you added pics of the meals. It's really been helpful, and your weight loss has been very inspirational.

Hi All -
Hope everyone is having a great start to their week
Joyfull, thanks for the note on the cheat meal - that's helpful. Plus I love Jamaican food also, so good to know I can still work that into the plan! :D
Congrats on the additional 2 lbs Danni (and 5 total)!
Doodie (Julie), welcome. I'm a former D2G-er and I'm very happy that I jumped ship to Bistro. It does cost more (not much more if you are currently on the Low Carb via mail) but the food variety is, in my opinion, 200x better. I shared more detailed thoughts in the D2G forum a few weeks ago, but basically my weight loss stalled and I found myself throwing a lot of the food away - especially once I switched to the low carb.... If I never see another brussel sprout, I think I will be happy for the rest of my life :D Maybe I'm picky, but a pork chop topped with an egg and a slice of canadian bacon for breakfast (and a side of cauliflower) - I guess I prefer more "traditional" breakfast meals. I don't want to knock the program, it works for some - just didn't work for me. My two cents
All,
I do need to make a slight correction - I believe I started the rumor about waffles in my shipment - sorry, it wasn't waffles, it was the stuffed French Toast :dizzy: My bad, no one missed out, I misread the menu :)
Enjoy your evening!

Jen- Just read your blog! (after reading Exactor's post). Nice photos and journal entries. I'm still relatively new to the forum, so never really discovered the blogs until now.
The only thing is, that I got hungry looking at the beautiful way you prepare meals. I always microwave my BMD meals on the highest amount of time and then chow. I need to step it up a bit! I love the additions you put in. The photographs look like they are out of Gourmet magazine.
Joyfull- I have never tried Jamaican food! I'm in California... so maybe there is a restaurant around? I'm gonna see =) However, maybe I shouldn't try it. I'll probably like it too much!
Danni - congrats!

Thanks, kifli and exactor, for the nice comments on my blog. It's extra incentive and accountability to know someone's reading it! :D I've always been that crazy person taking pictures of my food at restaurants -- I believe it's called "food porn"! :o I do still eat meals out of the trays too, but sometimes it's nice to see it on a real plate, looking all fancy! And I swear that "doctoring" the meals makes them sooo much better for me. They fit my tastes better. I think it's good preparation for preparing my own meals too! Also, I try to microwave the food as little as possible, just enough to get it hot. That's usually way less than BMD recommends, at least in my machine.
Pluto -- waffles waffles waffles!!! I got so excited for a new breakfast meal! Oh well! That wouldn't have tasted that different from pancakes anyways, right!? :D

Hi all,
Doing good this last week just super busy and stressed at work, plus, I didn't get home tonight until 7:00...just now eating dinner ... Which I do not care for, some sort of chorizo that is really fishy tasting, and I like seafood, plus has curry which I really don't care for. Did get 30 minutes on the treadmill before work today :carrot:
My meals that I got this week so far are a real disappointment, new things that I have not cared for and were really hard to get down. I have added them to my profile as do not sends, so hopefully I won't get anymore :(
But curry has been on my do not send from day one, so I will send an email. This was truly the only whole meal that I threw about 3/4 away, most of the others have only been the side dish which I don't eat, so I will look at that as a positive.
For the most part I still have more that I have liked than not. I keep them stacked like cards and have my like and don't like like stacks.
Take care
Lisa

Well, I am down two more pounds...not as much as I was hoping for, but at least it is something. This is slow going, but I guess any "healthy" weight loss is this way. I haven't been able to exercise, so I'm hoping that once I incorporate some workouts into my routine it will speed things along. I am getting ready for lunch...and the broccoli souffle looks a little scary.LOL! Guess I will try it though. Hope you all are doing great, and enjoying your meals. Chat soon :-)

Another note: If you all do this Bistro MD plan, you can expect to lose betweet 1-3lbs per week on average, depending on the total amount of weight you need to lose. This is what you can "realistically" expect. Of course, you'll be closer to the upper end if you exercise.;)
Also...I agree...the brocolli soufle is gross! Reminded me of "dirty socks"... I used to just choke it down and move on.:p

Hi all,
Staffing chick, congrats on the two pounds, going down. Usually when I start a diet, I hold off on the exercise because it takes me awhile to get the hang of things, but this time got right on it, since I don't have to work so hard on this plan ;). I think we would all like to lose like those people on the biggest loser, but I have to remind myself that is not realistic for the average person.
Joyfullloser, big high five to you, your goal is in sight:carrot:
Day didn't go to well, missed my lunch, had my snacks instead, and got my monthly curse and feel just crappy, I have horrid cramps, so no exercise
Today, but tomorrow is Friday, cheat meal is coming and new food arrives tomorrow ... It is just like a holiday or something

Hi Guys,
Lost one and a half this week. Made my first mini-goal.
Should be glad, but have only lost two and half total in the last month. Decided to start exercising. I lost the weight first pregnancy with diet alone. So far, I have lost 47 pounds with 2nd pregnancy, diet alone. Now the weight loss has really slowed down. That being said, exercise has never been something that I have ever done longer than a few weeks at a time. It's truly one of my largest downfalls as far as a healthy lifestyle. I just really want to see the scale move a little more. So my choices are lower calories or start exercising. Given that I'm nursing the new one, I don't want to accidentally put him on a diet =) So I think I will try cardio 3 nights a week (walking really fast). The only reason I haven't started exercising is because I'm still soo sleep deprived with the 3month old baby and the 2 year old toddler. My mom is coming to visit tomorrow for a week and then I will leave for vacation in a week, for 3 and a half weeks, which will give me some time to walk (my mom and hubby can watch the kids for a short while). If milk supply goes down with exercise, then I will cut calories by 100 and see what happens. I have been shooting for the 1500-1600 range, but have been averaging about 1600-1700 lately. Nursing makes me really hungry.
The slow turtle ticker below is appropriate for the speed of my weight loss =)
We will see what happens next week.
Have a great weekend guys. Gonna go walk for 30!
Oh yeah, I LOVE the BMD Jamaican stew. Just had it the other night with a piece of pita bread. YUMMY! But I also noticed that I don't mind one of the meals some of you really hate =) The chicken Aroz Pollo (sp?)...kind of embarrassed that my taste buds might be a little inferior that way!
So maybe it's not yummy for everyone! I generally do not like the vegetarian BMD meals too much. Jamaican stew is the exception.

Hello All,
Just finished the cheese tortellini for dinner -- Awesome!! Well, I didn't come anywhere close to being good on my cheat night last night - I was back at California Pizza Kitchen.... It's too tempting when I'm out of town on a cheat night - I can literally walk out the front door and there is a California Pizza Kitchen, Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang's, Gordon Biersch, Bravo's and about 7 other restaurants within walking distance. I'm home all this coming week, so hopefully I'll get a grip
Congrats StaffingChick on the 2 lbs - fingers crossed that I can land on a similar number tomorrow at the weigh in
Congrats kifli on the weight loss and hang in there! I only have the four legged version of kids so I can't imagine how difficult this is to do sleep deprived, with a newborn and a toddler. Vacation is around the corner!
Enjoy your cheat night Lisa! Everyone have a great weekend!

Pluto, I haven't had pizza yet it is my favorite, we ate it almost every weekend. Right now my cheat is a couple of glasses of wine, which can add up calorie wise pretty fast. I am trying to stay at around or under 2000 on that day.
Unpacked my food and there is some good looking new meals that I haven't had a chance to try. Tomorrow is weigh in day, also going to measure again, my cloths feel looser and I tend to lose more inches than weight.
I also liked the arozo polo, I added some green onion, tablespoon each of low fat sour cream and salsa and thought it was pretty good all mixed up but I did not care for the chorzo meal, I think mine was bad or something, because it was fishy tasting, and not in a good way. That is the only meal that I have thrown away, my family was complaining about how the entire house smelled like a fish processing plant :(

Weigh in was down a pound, not bad and will take it over a gain or stall any day. So far since I started on 2/15, I have lost 12 pounds, almost 2inches in my hips, and waist and a little over 1 inch in the bust area (was hoping for more of a loss up top;)
So glad I decided to measure before I started, I figure another month I should be able to fit into a smaller size, which of course, I have in the closet. I have jeans from a size 4 to 14, not sure I will every see the 4's on again, but you never know. That was about 10 years ago and I wasn't coming up on the big 50!
Wasn't able to get as much exercise in this week, with the monthly visitor, and we all caught colds, mine came on this morning ... at least it is Saturday:carrot:

Hi all,
Doing well eating, exercise has been nothing all week because I got a nasty flu/cold last weekend and I am still not feeling well. Good news is I am not really hungry, finding that a few of the meals that I thought I didn't mind are really hard to get down with little or no appetite. Hopefully, I will have a good weigh in tomorrow, and I have to admit after about 5 weeks I am looking forward to a my meal for a change of food choice.
Staffing chick, congrats on the weight loss and I hope you find something that will work for you. I can understand where you are coming from some of the meals, especially the sides, are not some of my favorites. Luckily there is enough that I do like, especially the main meal part, some of the sides I just throw away. Good luck
Danni, congrats on the weight loss :carrot:

I'll make this one short. I lost 2 pounds. I FINALLY can button my largest pair of nonsweat pants. This is the first time I am noticing a significant change inches wise. I did cardio 3 times this week since my mom watched the kids while visiting.
Staffing Chick- Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I hope you find what works best for you. I am continuing to calorie count for now. I wish you the best of luck if we don't hear from you!
Lisa - I hope you are finally on the mend! I always eat more when I am sick, unless I am REALLY sick. Hope some good weight loss came out of it =)

Well weighed in and lost 1 pound, this sure is a slow process, and I know slow is better, but I was hoping for at least 3 pounds this week. Maybe I am eating too little calories, I am tracking my calories and exercise even though I don't have to, averaging 1200 to 1285 per day. Most days this week I didn't eat my entire meals. Oh well, I just hate the way I feel when I get off that stupid scale, almost defeated, when I should be happy.
Moving from my scale disappointment .... I have been thinking about what and how I am going to eat when I can no longer afford BMD. My plan was to continue with the BMD for three months until the second week of May, around
my birthday, and switch to a similar 40, 30, 30 type of plan. Still looking in to that as I know I need to have a plan in place before then, just not sure what at this point, I don't want to back slide. I bought a new book on my iPad for $2.99, called the good mood diet, and I could use some, LOL.
Hopefully my cold will get better and I can get back to the exercise, plus the weather should be getting better so I can get back outside and start walking again soon.
Kifli, congrats on the two pound loss and getting your exercise in too, that is challenging with little ones :carrot:
Looking forward to my meals tonight and a couple of glasses of wine been a long week, everyone have a great weekend!

Hi all,
I've now been on Bistro for 2 weeks and have lost 5 pounds. I am just thrilled with that! I was losing very, very slowly on Diet to Go - only about 1/2 pound per week. I find that the Bistro food is OK for me. There are a few things that I think are really, really good, like the ravioli, lasagna rollatini and the ciopinno soup. There's been a couple of meals that I couldn't eat but most of them have been alright, not great but edible. I'm still trying new meals each week so I don't think I'll be sick of it for a while. What are everyone's favorites and which ones are so bad that you can't even smell them?

Hi All,
Well, another week with no movement on the scales. I'm not ready to claim a plateau just yet - I still have work to do with making exercise a "regular" part of my week and I was battling some strong snack cravings which resulted in me eating more - good news is that I did a good job eating healthy snacks versus junk so I'm pleased that I made better decisions in that department. It was great, great, great, being home last week and I'm a little sad to be sending this update from "the road". I'm going to spend some time this week setting up some mini goals for myself. I think if I start taking this in chunks, I'll be more successful for the long haul.
Congrats to all on your weight loss!
kifli, glad you're seeing some results in addition to the scale movement
Lisa, part of my mini goals work will be to map out my transition from BistroMD to "PlutoMD" :D Hope you're feeling better and done with that cold
exactor, for the most part, i enjoy the meals. only the arroz con pollo is on my "dislike" list so far

Hi All,
Hope everyone is having a great week - just finished my second day in a row of working out..... Whew! Hard work, but I'm determined to get some results. I just read an email from BistroMD founder, Dr. Cederquist? - anyway, the email said a lot of good stuff, but the thing that stuck with me is where she suggests that you spend some time every day picturing yourself as healthy. It probably sounds corny, but it rang a bell with me - I'm working towards a day when all "this" won't be work - it'll just be my normal, everyday approach to how I live. I eat healthy, make good choices, exercise and feel good - my new "normal".
Feeling motivated now to keep pressing on!
Have a great week

Hi all,
Still have-the cold going .... I am hearing people call this the 100 day cough, great. Washed my car this afternoon ... That is about all the exercise I got in this past two weeks, but when you wash and hand dry it is a pretty good workout. Takes me about an hour and a half to wash and dry the outside, vacuuming and cleaning the inside is about another 30 to 40 minutes ... I had no idea you could burn so many calories until I looked it up. If the grounds people blow grass and crap tomorrow at work, I am going to be really PO'd. That happened last time I washed it, they are pretty clueless sometimes. It is a convertible so I can't run it through the car wash every time it gets dusty.
My favorites are the cinnamon pancakes, I love it when I see those when I pull my days meals out of the freezer, those and the berry crepes are my favorite breakfast meals. Don't real dig some of the egg meals. Really like the lasagna rolls, the salmon, don't care for the meatloaves or the scallop dish that I had last week, it was pretty fishy tasting, also don't care for the baby food squash, I usually mix that with the main dish to get it down

I received my first order today, and I'm looking forward to starting tomorrow. I really do have confidence that I will have success with this plan. I am, however, not looking forward to getting on the scale for the first time in a couple of years, and think I may not for a while. I'll see.

Welcome Tweets! The scale hasn't been my friend as of late, but I think that will change very soon. Hope you enjoy your first week of meals!
Lisa, - I'm with you on the cinnamon pancakes and berry crepes (love them both) - I think I'll have to add the stuffed french toast, also. I'm struggling a little bit with the omelets - primarily the one with the canadian bacon (I'm just not a fan of that bacon). I did coat the omelet with salsa and that seemed to do the trick. I was in Whole Foods a few months back and found a Turkey Canadian Bacon product (Wellshire Farms). I may go back to Whole Foods, buy it and substitute it in that particular breakfast (and maybe with the bagel).
Washing a car is definitely a chore, I have an SUV that I hand wash and dry - afterwards, I take a shower and go to bed. Totally exhausting.
Good night all

Hey Pluto, I really liked your post on positive thinking. I will try to incoporate this into my daily routine. I was watching a weight loss show the other night where people who were trying to lose weight had to literaly bury the bad foods they were eating (pizza, hot dogs, brownies etc). and it showed me how much of this is mental.
Dr. Cederquist has some cool videos on youtube you should all check out if you get a chance. I like all the support you get from BistroMD.

Hi all,
Finally the weekend ... It seemed like a long, long work week. Out running around today, shopping at Costco with hubby, funny how some of the foods did not bother me, and I found a few things that look healthy for when I am on my own after BMD. Today is cheat meal day, so will have some red wine and pizza, really looking forward to that ;)
Have to run back into town for that, but I am having my nails done and decided to see of she could fit me for a pedicure ... the pizza place is right next door. I cracked a nail washing my car and it is not going to make it until my regular appointment on Monday.
Did manage to lose 1.5 pounds, at least I think I did, one of my purchases today was a digital scale at Costco, that old one of mine is getting hard to read those marks between each five pound mark ... will start with that scale next Saturday on my weekly weigh in. Also broke down and got some reading glasses, I almost made it to 50 without them, sure helps on the iPad.
Kifli, congrats on the weight loss and enjoy your trip, you will probably get lots of walking in too.
Tweets, welcome hope you like the food and have much success.
Danni, congrats on the 2.5 pounds this week that is awesome:carrot: I will have to check out those videos.
Pluto, the omelets are not my favorite either, I add some salsa and a wedge of laughing cow cheese, it doesn't add a lot of calories and is something I have done from the start, it makes them a little better and I add into my calories for the day. I have also taken it out and cooked in a pan to help the taste
... No oil of course ;)
Everyone have a great weekend, I am hoping I can get back to the exercise next week ... still have that darn cough.

So far, so good for me. I only ate the meals Thursday and Friday (I'm doing the 5 day) and I liked it. Well, I didn't much like the vegetables, but I ate most of them (a shock to my veggie-deprived system) as I'm determined to eat healthy. And sticking to Winderslim today was pretty darn easy. Pluto, Wonderslim is packaged meals (mostly powdered), much like Medifast. It's not bad, and I've done it on and off for many years. I tried to start again in January, but I just haven't been able to be motivated enough to only eat those same little packets again. Every day, day after day, week after week, etc. I looked at the Bistro website, again, really regretting buying all that Wonderslim that was just sitting in my cabinets. I noticed many of the snacks look identical to Wonderslim, so I figured I could use what's in my cabinets for snacks and weekends. I think it will work well. I have good food to look forward to, I won't get bored, and I'll use all that Wonderslim I bought. Now, the only thing I have to do is start walking again. It's been at least a year for me as well.

Thanks for the info Tweets - I read some of the Wonderslim threads on this site and I think you have an interesting approach. I hope you get great results - I may even give it a try as I'm trying to "wean" myself off of the BMD 7 day w/out snacks plan
Making steady progress on the exercise routine. I was pretty sore from Monday evening's workout so I gave myself off Tuesday (plus I had to work late so I couldn't fit anything in to the evening) - but I'm up early this morning and just finished the Abs workout of the p90x series. Feeling pretty good. Not able to do any cardio, I'm on the road and the fitness room is closed for some repair work. Heading home this evening so I shouldn't have any issues getting a workout in for the rest of the week.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Guys. Sorry I haven't been able to keep up with everyone. We have been on vacation here in Italy. I'm really afraid to weigh myself once we get to Hungary. It has been so hard to calorie count here. We are always taking long car rides and trips every day. Meals get delayed, then it seems I have been eating a lot of junk. The food is heavy (primarily pasta and pizza). I think I will be gaining some weight back after all =( I brought my own snacks, but my husband and two year old ended up eating them all in the first 3 days with the long car rides. Feel pretty discouraged. I really need to weigh every day or I don't stay on track. There isn't a scale here at the villa we are staying at. But my husband's family will have one once we go to Hungary. Hopefully, I can try to maintain the weight I have already gained. I can even see my pants getting tight and my stomach bulging out more =(

Hey Kifli - Enjoy your vacation because you deserve it! So you gain some weight while you're in Europe - I've never been to Europe, but weight gain would be an insignificant price to pay for enjoying the time over there with family (and great food!). This is a journey - we're all taking one day (and for me, who is trying to get back into an exercise groove.... one step) at a time. It sounds like you are trying to be mindful of calories and portions - so just keep doing your best - that's always enough!
We will all be right here on the forum when you get back - this is time for you - just enjoy, enjoy, enjoy
My two cents -

I agree don't be too hard on yourself, vacation is a challenge. Maybe when you get to your family's house you can get some walks in. Just get right back into it when you get home, don't be like me that went on vacation two years ago and blew it, I have been eating like I was on vacation ever since until I started BMD and gained all I had lost plus some. :o
I think the key is learning that a vacation is only one or two weeks and a holiday is usually just one meal and to jump back into the good eating and exercise, at least that is what I am trying to learn :) all you can do is do your best and don't beat yourself up. Have a great rest of your trip.
Weigh in on the new scale tomorrow, been good all week, but also really hungry too. Hope that means I am burning fat.

Well that took awhile to figure out with the new scale ... I am about 3 to 4 pounds more than the old scale, so I had to go in adjust my start weight and current weight here and in my lose it app. I have still lost the same amount, but need to lose 4 more to get to my goal weight. Since I swapped scales, I will call this week a wash cause I have no clue where I am at between last week and this week. I had expected the new scale would weigh me more instead of less :?:
Today is cheat meal, and now that I have the new scale and weight, willcheck my weight next Saturday and see how this next week goes, if I don't see a loss I will probably go back to just having some wine as my cheat, smoothie for breakfast and a BMD meal for lunch & dinner to shake things up a bit for a week or two.
Also need to look for some different snacks as the protein bars are getting old fast. I am trying to stay away from sugar and a lot of carbs with my snacks, so that eliminates a lot out there since everything as sugar in one or more forms.
Also hoping to get back to the exercise as I still have that cough. May switch over to some weights and work on the upper body, because the treadmill is a little difficult when you are having a coughing fit. Plus short sleeve weather is coming up.
Everyone have a great weekend, it is raining pretty hard here so I think it will be an inside chores type of day,

Hey everyone, was busy last week and never made it on here. Doing well, lost another pound last week. Had to cheat a few times cause I had some holidays in family that came up.
Kifli enjoy your trip. I have been to Italy, love it there. Never been to Hungary so i'll have to google Kifli to see what it is exactly!

Hi everyone. Just want to thank you so much for your words of wisdom and encouragement. They are greatly appreciated! I did have a big gain after the Italy trip. I'm guessing 2-3 pounds. I ate a lot of chocolate hazelnut cookies as snacks....not good, I know. I actually got tired of the food, if you can believe that. I really am starting to enjoy my new way of eating. That being said, I do need chocolate 'treats' regularly so that I don't get out of control with cravings.
So what happened is I gained weight last week, but just happened to have eaten something really bad that didn't agree with me this week. Mild food poisoning?...not exactly sure. Any which way, I lost weight as a result, so net loss was 1 pound for the past 2 weeks =) VERY HAPPY about that. But still going to listen to the great advice given above and I will just enjoy this break by not worrying so much about every bite taken. Will give it my best when I get back to the states.
I'm now at family's house in Hungary. Aunt Eva made homemade kifli with raspberry filling....very good. Had one piece...enjoyed it. Had Activa vanilla yogurt (80 calories) with 1/4 cup chocolate granola mix and fresh raspberries for a second snack (very yummy!).
I just feel so good this weight is coming off. You guys make the journey fun. So thanks again!
I have limited internet access, so I apologize for not keeping up with everyone right now. Talk again soon.
