I know we have some threads about what we ate, but I thought I'd post one so people could list what they didn't eat (or drink) that they survived just fine without.

I didn't eat an entire bag of Pretzel Slims from Trader Joe's. I stayed away from the store because I knew if I went in for English muffins, I'd leave with the pretzel slims and eat them all.

So, I have happily saved about 500 calories today!

Popcorn, Ice cream and fizzy drinks at the cinema. Did eat too much pizza at pizza hut - was only too much because my appetite seems to of shrunk and I ate beyond being full but I didn't eat a pudding no matter how much the waitress convinced me I needed one and I didn't drink any fizzy drinks just water so feeling very pleased with myself :)

Great idea!

The eating begins with buying sometimes, so...I didn't buy the tempting blueberry pie at the farmer's market! :carrot: Will be buying fresh blueberries on Monday instead.

Also didn't buy any of the pastries at Starbucks when I got my coffee!

Saved atleast a few hundred calories :D

I'm kind of blah right now. I haven't eaten our 4th of July dinner yet. Our guests are all having issues. What a pain.

I didn't grab the chocolate chip cookies out of stress..although I REALLY wanted to...

I sipped lemon water instead.

Hmm... well I haven't eaten enough veggies or fruit yet.. lol!! So i'll be snacking on those tonight to get them in! ;)

Seriously though, since eating this way, my cravings are next to nil, which is amazing for me cause I had such a brutal sweet tooth! Eek!

I didn't eat the traditional (10 years in a row, believe it or not) Mrs. Smith's Deep-Dish Apple Pie with vanilla bean ice cream. Wow, this is the first year since 1998 I didn't have that on the 4th. I VOW I WILL NEVER HAVE IT AGAIN. Ever. Under any circumstances. Wow, I actually just convinced myself that's the truth...wow.

I DID eat quite a few things I shouldn't have today... but what I DIDN'T eat is a delicious looking chocolate cupcake with buttercream icing... yum. And wouldn't you know that I got them sent home with me after the 4th party? Haha.

We went to a 4th party across the street and I didn't go back for seconds after eating my BBQ. I didn't even go back for a second brownie!

Later, I found two Resse's Peanut Butter Cups in the freezer and ate one but gave the other to Hubby!

I didn't buy, and therefor didn't eat the incredible looking Strawberry pie with creme patissier which I like so much. I would have eaten the whole thing by now.

The 4th was a failure for me. I only had one meal, but it was a total binge. Sigh.

I can't let it end my diet though. It would have in the past, but tomorrow is a new day and the beginning of a new week.

When the food settled I worked out on the Wii Fit and even jogged in place for 10 minutes for the second time ever. I feel good about that at least...

-edit- However, my husband wanted mac & cheese and s'mores and I didn't make either of those, so that's what I didn't eat.

I didn't drink a second soda (I'm trying to limit myself to one a day).

I resisted asking Vanessa if she had any BBQ left over from her parents' party.

I usually have a salad for lunch, and fish with cooked veggies for dinner. Today I had crabmeat and shrimp and oysters at lunch, so I skipped the seafood at dinner.

I didn't have a glass of wine with dinner (which surely would have led to two or three glasses). :hat: And I'm not going to have one tomorrow either.

I'm also not going to stop at the Indian bakery for sweets tomorrow, even though it is super close to the Sunday farmers' market and I always stop there for sweets when I go to this farmers market.

Yesterday.. I didn't eat ANY of the 2 pizzas my friends bought (even though they looked/smelled delicious). I didn't drink any of the sugary drinks they brought in their cooler. I resisted when they brought out the Lays, Sunchips, pretzels. I refused to go out for ice cream.
I felt like such a party pooper.

Great thread, and great small victories, everyone! Keep up the good work.

I didn't eat as much as I normally would when we went to the neighbors' house for a pool party.

And they were selling this delicious looking cake at the grocery store, it was decorated to look like a giant hamburger and I really wanted it. The sad thing is, that the main reason I didn't buy it was because it was $17, not because it was horribly unhealthy. :( But the bottom line is, I did NOT buy it and that's a good thing.

For dinner, I didn't get to eat my favorite salad from Zaxby's with no cheese and light ranch dressing. Zaxby's was closed for the 4th. The nearest place (my children were STARVING) was McDonald's. But I didn't let the change of plans sabotage me. I ordered the Southwest Salad, grilled. Tried to get no cheese but they are premade so they don't have them w/out cheese. I ask for a nutritional menu and found that the Southwest salad grilled was only 320 cals, which is much lower, only half that of the Zaxby's Salad I had intended to eat. I took it home and added one of the leftover packets of 100 calorie dressing I stash from Zaxby's (they always give me 2 at a time). After dinner, we went to watch fireworks with some friends and they didn't eat before going. So we went to a restaurant and I ordered an unsweet tea and added some Splenda and also a coffee while everyone else ate anything from chicken fingers to some type of huge plate of smothered fries, lots of sweet tea and Dr. Pepper. I was very proud of myself for not giving in and eating again (like the rest of my family did). I would have only been eating out of boredom or joining the crowd. I have just come too far to do that now.

I ended up with lower cals than I expected for the day, but today is my Dad's B'day so this morning I decided to exchange yesterdays supposed higher calorie day for today. My mom is losing weight with me, so while everyone else at the B'day party will be eating regular hamburgers and hotdogs, we are having the flame grilled Boca Burgers and with the cake the ice cream will be 100 calorie for 1/2 cup. Just gotta watch myself with the portion size of the cake, haha.

We stopped @ the store and I picked up a dark chocolate Dove bar and gave 1/2 to him...so I didn't eat 1/2 a Dove bar

I went to a party today where I only had a sliver of the two cakes offered, enjoyed it, and then walked away from the table.

I went to Chili's for dinner and instead of the incredibly high-calorie choices I could have ordered, I opted for the guiltless grilled salmon and steamed broccoli.

the deep dish apple pie with vanilla ice cream probably would have done me in (my favorite), kudos.

I did not eat even one cool ranch dorito chip from the bag held out to me. wow, those were my absolute favorites at one time, so I've kind of impressed myself with that.

I'm late to this thread, but I hosted a 4th of July BBQ at my house. So *I* controlled what was and was not offered.

So, I didn't eat any crap, other than the whipped heavy cream that I made to go along with the fruit salad and only a dollop. I didn't eat salsa & chips, either, which was one of the only two munchies food that I offered for before dinner (potato chips was the other - yuck!).

I did serve:
grilled chicken on the BBQ
Chili Lime chicken burgers
All beef hot dogs
Lean hamburgers
whole wheat buns
Garden Salad with blueberries & walnuts
Orzo salad with chick peas, red peppers, scallions, mint & feta
Couscous salad
Brown rice/lentils salad with peaches and nonfat yogurt
Brownies (I do not like!)
Cookies (I do not like!)
Fruit salad
Whipped cream

Ta-da! Healthy BBQ! :)

I didn't eat the Tim Horton's Donuts that someone brought into work last night!

I was so tempted but I kept thinking about why I didn't need them and that I am "serious" about weight loss this time around.

I did indulge in a little bit of popcorn but... baby steps :)
