We welcome everyone that has ever weighed on Thursdays or thought about weighing on Thursday! We are a very supportive group. Please join us!
I can't believe that it's July! It's hot here! Nothing exciting going on here.. Just sitting with my foot up!
Tina, glad someone looked at the house. I'll send good vibes that way!
Tammy, Hope your iron count is high enough this time.
Maureen, Happy Canada!!! A day late! Hope you had fun!!!
07-02-2009, 08:58 AM
By the way, I'm not weighing in today, not til the boot comes off.
07-02-2009, 01:39 PM
Hi everyone! So glad you are all so busy and productive! Glad to hear all the "energy" too!
Hectic here working both stores.
The weather has been cool and rainy. Humid on the days it gets in the 80's. We are suppose to have a nice w/e though!
Happy 4th and take care!
07-02-2009, 03:23 PM
My iron level was exactly 38%, and that's what it needs to be. I have eaten so much iron-rich foods and taken iron supplements the past week, and it only went up 1%. I couldn't believe it. Oh well, at least I was able to give this time. I haven't felt the best since I've been home though.
Cool and rainy here yesterday and today. Hope it warms up a bit because 65 degrees on July 1 & 2 is just weird.
07-02-2009, 05:31 PM
Hi Jeanne, glad you posted. We've missed you. I figured you must have been busy at work.
Tammy, I can't believe it only went up 1 point. Glad you were able to give. I just checked to see where I can give here. there are going to be some mobile units around in 2 weeks but don't know if I'll be driving. (Pat's not letting me drive :( If not, I'll do it as soon as I get released. I know where the nearest location is in the next town. I am doing it for my little fellow and all his blood he received.
Did I tell ya'll that a friend of mine that I work with had a premature baby 2 weeks ago. He was born at 2 days shy of 34 weeks. I've talked to her a few times. I just wanted her to know that someone knows how she is feeling. Poor thing, I know she is exhausted and wants to spend every minute in the NICU. The baby is making great progress. He was 4.8 pounds and 17.25 inches long. It's strange, it brings about some feelings. Guess that's normal. Can you believe we would be getting ready to celebrate a 5th birthday in just a week!!!
ohh, it's a nice cool 100 degrees here. In San Antonio, it's been 103-104 for almost 3 weeks now.
07-02-2009, 10:09 PM
Susan, thanks so much for starting us off. You don't know it but I think about you often and wonder how you're getting on. It's no fun being off your feet.
Tammy, I wish Susan and I had some of your cool weather. I don't remember when we've had so many days straight of really hot, hot, hot weather like this.
Jeanne, it's so good to hear from you.
Maureen, how was your holiday?
Sis, we miss you!
Dori, what are you up to now???
Well, the first person to see our house thought it was priced too high for all the work that would have to be done on it.
We're hoping for a contractor to come want to build another million dollar house and pay our asking price. :)
It's a start.
We had our 4th of July meal tonight. David won't be coming over on Saturday. So, he came tonight and I fixed hot dogs, baked beans, chips and salsa and an apple cobbler. Yummy!
I'm still going to post the pineapple salsa recipe. Maybe tomorrow. :)
07-03-2009, 10:05 AM
Susan, I'm sure those feelings are tough with your friend's baby being in NICU. Hard to believe it has been 5 years.
Tina, I'd send you some of the cool weather from the past couple of days if I could. I guess I'd rather have a couple of cooler days than so many hot ones like you've had. The right person will walk in your house soon! Your 4th of July meal sounds good.
07-03-2009, 06:23 PM
I'll be weighing in tomorrow morning and I sure hope I can move my tracker-it's raining right now so I guess I'll stay in instead of heading for the mall-
Tina, you'll get the house sold-have you seen anything you want to buy yet?
Susan, I'm with Tammy, seems unbelievable that it's been 5 years already-
Tina, I had a bbq at my sister's with her and her boys-(tofu burgers)now can you imagine spending time with 3 teenage boys who can sit there and touch their noses with their toes lol--what fun!!!
Anyway wish me luck tomorrow I'll check in when I get home
07-03-2009, 10:13 PM
Maureen, I sat here and laughed at the thought of the boys touching their noses with their toes. Hey, that sounds like good exercise.
Good luck tomorrow!
And, we're going to move into a townhouse. There's almost no maintenance with those.
Susan, how are you today?
Tammy, is Tim home this weekend? Did Lauren come down?
Jeanne, I hope you can get some rest some time soon!
Dori, how are you?
Sis, please post!!!
07-04-2009, 07:39 AM
Good morning all
I'm just waiting to go to a meeting-but I wanted to wish all my American friends a Happy 4th of July-I hope you all have beautiful weather and a great time in whatever you choose to do today-I'll report back later this afternoon on my results
07-04-2009, 10:25 AM
I managed to lose 2 more lbs-my scale said more but I'll take it! out to shop
talk to you all later
07-04-2009, 11:13 AM
Yea!!!!! You are doing so well!!!!! Have fun shopping!
Pat's working out in the barn while you'll never guess what I'm doing? Sitting with my foot up! :)
He is going to cook bbq later today.
Hope everyone has a great day!
07-04-2009, 11:14 AM
:bravo: Maureen :carrot: That's a great loss!
07-04-2009, 08:43 PM
Hi all. Sorry I have been missing in action. Just haven't been too good about posting lately. Hope everyone is doing well. Happy 4th of July! I hope you all are having a nice week end. I am enjoying a quiet one. Work has been a bit crazy so I have been looking forward to the weekend. I still am not doing the greatest at staying op but I am still working towards it. I just can't wrap my head back around eating the way I was when I was losing the weight. I will though. I have to I want to get off those darn BP meds. Anyways, you guys take care and I will try to check in a lot more often. :D
07-05-2009, 07:39 AM
Morning all! Hope you had a nice 4th! Ours was ok. I was not feeling so well so I kinda hung out around the couch. And as far as fireworks go, the kids where with friends and bob and I opted not to walk out on the street and watch. (we're getting old:o.............or lazy)!!!!! The fireworks show can be seen from our house. They set them off at the baseball stadium that I have mentioned before! The dog hates the noise!
We got video on demand and I see there is a ton of exercise workouts on there for free!!! Yay! Really, I'm going to check them out. Maybe I'll find something new!
Maureen - woohooo & good job!
Susan - Hope you are feeling better! Hows that foot?
Tina - Great idea about the townhouse! Bob and I have mentioned that a time or two as well! I hope your house sells soon!
Tammy - Hi! How are things over there in Ohio???? I think it made it to 75 yesterday, but sitting outside still felt very cool!
Sis - Hi! How are you doing these days?
Well ladies, I'm gonna scoot. I want to get the laundry caught up and try to work out with something on VOD. I feel so crappy!
07-06-2009, 11:24 PM
Maureen, I'm going to practice touching my nose with my toes. lol 2 more pounds is wonderful! Keep it up!!
Tina, you will love not having to do so much maintenance. I love it here. Tim misses mowing, but for Bob and I this was perfect. I guess you don't have to worry about snow removal! lol
Susan, keeoping your foot up?
Sis, stay strong and you'll get off of those meds. I am taking 1/2 the dose of BP meds than I was. I'm hoping to get off of them completely at some point too.
Jeanne, it's been pretty cool here too. I think it is 67 right now.
Our weekend was super busy with Lauren and her mom here. We had a very nice time. Lauren didn't feel the best, so that kind of put a damper on things. She went to the doctor and it's a cold, so that's not so bad. Last night I went out to dinner with some women (youngsters!) from my aerobics class to celebrate the birthday of one of them. We had so much fun! I could be the mother of most of them, but they wanted me to go and I'm so glad that I did.
It amazes me how I can go along and have some really good days, and then BOOM, it's like I hit a wall. I slept almost all day today. No pain though, so I am thankful for that. A friend and I are going away for a couple of days, so at least I should be rested to take off tomorrow morning. We'll be back Wed. night. Hitting shops, a casino, and who knows what else! She told me she is taking her walking shoes to get up and walk on Wed. morning, so I think I'll pack some stuff too. I know the hotel has a fitness room.
07-07-2009, 09:42 AM
Jeanne, I'm so sorry you've felt yucky. Hopefully by now, you are feeling better.
Susan, how's the foot?
Dori, please check in.
Sis, you can do this. Use those meds as your "push" to get the pounds off.
Maureen, keep up the walking and losing those pounds.
Tammy, I know you are having fun with your friend. Win lots of money at the casino. I need a little spending money about now. :):):)
I want my house to sell--right now!!!!! I think we're going to have an open house very soon. Yea! Where are all the contractors who used to send letters wanting to buy our property?????
Okay, I'm on a losing streak again. I'm back to exercising FINALLY.
07-08-2009, 08:56 PM
Hope everyone is doing well. I'm ready to get out of this chair!!!! I go back to the doctor on Tuesday! and Wednesday will be 5 weeks! (I think) I am getting way bored!!
I'm also ready to start losing weight! !!!!!!
Tina, your house will sell!!! Hope it's soon.
Tammy, have fun on your trip!
Maureen, keep up the hard work. I'll be glad when I can start riding my bike again.
Sis, how are you?
Jeanne, are you feeling better?
Dori, how's summer?
07-09-2009, 10:10 AM
Hello ladies. Boy, it's been a while since the last post. Not much has changed though. We just returned from spending a week with my in-laws. It wasn't a bad trip, but not the best either. I'm in the process of looking at recipes, making a menu, and a grocery list. Afterwards, I have a paper to write and loads of housework to do. *sigh*
I have finally decided that enough is enough. I'm getting on the wagon and staying no matter what. I was actually supposed to go walk with a friend this morning, but she backed out on me. I should have gone and walked by myself, but I didn't. We'll probably walk this afternoon if it doesn't rain.
Well I suppose I should run for now. Ta ta girls.
07-10-2009, 04:44 PM
It's Friday! :carrot:
Dori, you can do this!!! You are one very busy person. I'm glad you got away for a bit. Please don't talk about housework! It seems that's all I do now.
Susan, you will be up and running very soon.
Tammy, have you gotten over last weekend?
Sis, is work still crazy?
Jeanne, I hope you're feeling better by now. It's easy to get sick in the summer.
Maureen, is it cool there? Please tell me it's cool there!
Okay group, the realtor is holding an Open House for us next weekend. That has put me into high gear. I'm soooooo tired of this. But, I really think I've filled as many boxes as I can. Now I just need to go over the kitchen closer to the time.
Tomorrow, we'll take the last of the boxes to storage. Thank goodness for storage places!
Everyone stay OP, drink their water, and have a fantastic weekend.
07-11-2009, 10:45 AM
Good morning all
I just got back from a meeting and managed to lose 1 more lb-so I'm going the right way-I did slip up this week and gave in to an ice cream treat-but I didn't beat myself up-I enjoyed it-thought I was a pig but got back on program-this week our challenge is to eat at least 3 different coloured fruits and vegetables a day.
Tina, your house will go in no time just think positive-
It's raining here right now-I hope it stops soon I want to get out
have a great day on program we all deserve it
07-11-2009, 03:25 PM
Tina, we did have quite a bit of fun, and I came away with more than I took with me. I like that! Not enough to share though, sorry!! I laughed out loud about the storage places! We did the same thing!!! It's amazing how much stuff you can accumulate, isn't it?
Dori, you can do it! Get on that wagon and go girl!!!
Maureen, way to go on that pound! Definitely don't worry about that ice cream. Remember we are making life time changes, and if we give up everything, it will be much more difficult to keep it up.
It stormed here this morning, and there are flood watches out in different areas. Maurice didn't like the thunder and lightning at all. He kept trying to jump up and hide his head in my shoulder.
One of my uncles passed away on Wed. morning. The funeral was earlier today. Everyone was going back to the house afterwards, but I just haven't felt the best. I know it's stress, and I probably should have gone.
I have to head to the church later. There is an Emmaus Walk going on. I was supposed to help out in the kitchen this weekend, but with my uncle, things changed. I'll go do stuff in the mail room about 7:00, and then stay for the nice service at 8:30.
Tomorrow I am going to a birthday party for Bob's aunt who is turning 100!
07-12-2009, 10:45 PM
I hope everyone had a good weekend.
I definitely blew it today. :( I'm sure I regained the 2 pounds I lost over the past few days. There was Blue Bell Old Fashion Blackberry Cobbler ice cream in the house. Boy, did I eat it today. Yesterday, I would just look at it. What fun was that! :dizzy:
But, tomorrow is a new day. Right!
Susan, how is the foot?
Tammy, how wonderful about Bob's aunt! Did she realize how old she was today?
Maureen, I hope the sun came out so you could exercise.
Sis, how are you doing?????
Dori, You Can Do This!
Jeanne, are you feeling any better? I hope it's slower at work for a while. You need to relax.
We had someone come look at the house this afternoon. The realtor wrote me that she'd check tomorrow to see if there were any comments about the visit. I was getting discouraged and then someone wanted to see the house. I'll just have to keep positive thoughts. There are so many houses around here for sale. Of course, ours is the cheapest. :carrot:
07-13-2009, 07:27 PM
Tina, I think I would have been that ice cream too! Sounds delicious! Did you hear anything from the realtor today? Sure hope things go well for you!!
yes, Bob's aunt knew she is 100. She talked to me about Bob and Tim. She told me that she thinks Tim is driving too far to go to college, but she understands why he moved home. She told me that if there is anything that I need that I am supposed to contact one of her kids, and they'll help me out. Talked to several of Bob's cousins, so that was nice.
pilates and zumba tomorrow. After not doing much of anything over the weekend, I will be dreading it in the morning, but I know I have to do it. We start our summer session Wed. night at First Place so that will help to keep me accountable on the food. Just can't get the butterfly to move. Maybe it's thinking about Tina's ice cream. Ha!
One of my brothers and his family got home last night from Australia. I feel much better now that they are home. The other brother and his family won't be home till the 23rd.
Hello to all!
07-13-2009, 10:16 PM
Got an e-mail from the realtor. The feedback said, "Doesn't fit needs of client." That's okay. Someone will come along--maybe even a contractor. :D
Tammy, I'm so glad one of your brothers is home. Yes, you will feel more relaxed now. I'm sure he had a good time.
Now, don't over do it tomorrow.
Susan, where are you? I know, you're in your chair.
Everyone else, I hope today was a good day.
07-14-2009, 11:20 AM
Ladies, why do I always sabotage myself? I know I can do this and yet I choose to make bad choices. I just said enough was enough and yet I turn right back around and do the same exact thing. ARGH!!!!!
07-14-2009, 12:43 PM
Yep still sitting in the chair!!! :( However, went to the doctor today. I get to start weaning myself off the boot and have a nice little black shoe to wear. Still have to wear the toe separator for 2 more weeks. I have to wear the boot when I leave the house. The incision looks really good. Oh and I'm suppose to start moving my toe and the joint. Ouch, it hurt when he did it in the office.
Tina, that would be great if a contractor came along!
Tammy, I'm glad you had fun at the party. I know Bob's aunt loved having you there. That was sweet what she said! Believe me, she meant it!!! Glad your brother is home!
Dori, we all do that! I know I'm guilty of it! Then I just want to kick myself! Take one little step at a time. Don't try to do it all at once.
Well it's going to be a cool 104 today!!! I'm ready for the cool weather!!!
07-14-2009, 11:19 PM
Tina, the right buyer is just around the corner!
Dori, I think we are all guilty of doing the same thing. Hang in there!
Susan, glad to hear you can start weaning off the boot! Next thing you know, you'll be running races! 104 is way too warm. We turned off the AC today, and we have all the windows open. Nice breeze going through.
During pilates today, I was thinking that since I've been doing it for several weeks, that it should be getting easier for me. It isn't. The last two times, my back has really been bothering me. The instructor has noticed and has shown me some modifications. Maybe I'm expecting too much. By the time I was done with pilates and then zumba, I was ready to crash. I know it's good for me though, so I'll keep it up until my regular class starts again in September. I think I am going to start water aerobics in the fall session too. I miss those people.
07-15-2009, 01:47 PM
Well, I weighed today and I'm at my lowest weight so far (at least back to it) I really wanted to order Chinese food today too! But it stopped me because I knew I would be kicking myself tomorrow!
Tammy, I love water aerobics. Maybe in the fall I'll take it too. I had fun when I did it. Not sure why I stopped. Oh yeah, a little baby decided he wanted his momma in the hospital and he was born a few days later! Guess it's been longer than I thought! I loved it when I did it!
Glad the instructor made some modifications. Pilates is hard. I know when I had the trainer we did some. It never got easier. :D
Tina, are you surviving the heat? I see San Antonio has another week of heat.
Nothing exciting here, waiting for the ac people to come service the ac. They will call before they come but it will be this afternoon.
07-15-2009, 04:11 PM
Drip, drip, drip....no, that's not a broken water pipe, it's me getting in from being out in this heat. The heat index is always over 100 and the temp is, too, most of these days.
Tammy, I hope our community pool will have water aerobics soon. That sounds like wonderful exercise.
Susan, that's great about your weight. I'm so happy your foot is healing so well.
Maureen, are you walking?
Dori, you can to this. I've been working on the same pounds over and over again for years!
Sis, where are you!!!!!
Jeanne, I hope you are feeling okay.
Our Open House is this weekend. Everything is almost ready. I need one more frame for a print I have for the bedroom. There will be the last minute dusting, of course. Pleaseeeee y'all keep your fingers crossed (and toes) that someone will come in and fall in love with this wonderful house. :):):)
07-16-2009, 06:52 PM
Susan, good for you on the weight!! a few months ago we did water aerobics instead of our aerobics class. It was done in the deep end of the pool, and I really liked that better than the shallow end. Did the ac people ever show up?
Tina, that would be good if you could take water aerobics too. We could all compare notes. I have everything crossed for the open house!!
Had a different instructor today for pilates and zumba since the regular one is on vacation. They were tough!
07-16-2009, 07:43 PM

Welcome to the group Jen!! You are more than welcome to join us. Enjoy Paris! I'm sure you will find lots of yummy things to eat there. When you get back, we'll help keep you motivated to stick to a healthier eating plan.
07-17-2009, 08:46 AM
Prayers needed for my friend Jeannie who owns the place where we take the puppy for daycare/boarding. She has just been diagnosed with an aggressive uterine cancer. She is having surgery next Tuesday.
07-17-2009, 10:40 AM
Prayers are being sent!!!!!!! Keep us updated!
07-19-2009, 10:32 AM
Hey everyone. I hope this month is going well for everyone. Things are still a little crazy at work and a lot of family things have been going on. Yesterday was a B-day party for my 2 yr old grandson. He is so cute. :) I am feeling a bit more possitive now. I have been reading the forums and really trying to get myself inspired. I am going to really start taking care of myself. I can do this. You all inspire me so much. :D
Our weather here is SO not hot! Yesterday and today we are in the upper 60's! In July????? Tomorrow it is supposed to be in the upper 70's. I like that temp but it is still odd. I won't complain though.
I hope everyone is doing well. I will try to get my butt on here a little more often. Take care and thanks so much for all the encouragement. It means so much to me. Have a WONDERFUL week all......
07-19-2009, 12:26 PM
Hey Sis! Glad to hear from you. Our temps have been similar. Weird, isn't it? I'm in Ohio, where are you? I hope you can make it back more often!!
Tim and his fiance left early this morning for Mackinaw City, Michigan. They are meeting with someone tomorrow about possibly having their wedding on Mackinac Island next May. They had wanted a small wedding, and things just kept growing, so this might be the answer. Tim texted a while ago that they were almost there. They'll be home sometime Tuesday night. They are going to go and visit her brother, SIL, and niece while they are up there.
07-19-2009, 02:04 PM
Hey Tammy, I am from Michigan, and I LOVE Mackinaw Island. My hubby and I use to go once a yr but we haven't been in a few yrs. We want to take out DD up there this summer as she will be a senior next yr and she really wants to go. We'll see I guess if we can make it up there. It is a beautiful place, especially for a wedding. Have a great week. :)
07-19-2009, 03:19 PM
just got home from vacation! We spent the last 9 days at Myrtle Beach. It was beautiful & HOT!!!! Just the girls and I went. It is our annual girls getaway. This year a girlfriend of mine joined us. She came in Monday and left Friday. We went to the Dixie Stampede, Good Vibrations and we saw Clint Black in concert! Wooooo! It was fun!:carrot:
I've been trying to eat smart and get a lot of water to drink. So, we'll see. I'm going to wait until Thursday to WI.
Tammy - Prayers sent your way for your friend Jeannie!
Take care ladies! Talk to you soon!
07-19-2009, 10:54 PM
Sis, we usually go up every summer too. I told Tim when he called earlier that maybe I might just go up for a few days in Aug. or Sept. Just doesn't seem right not going.
Jeannie, glad you had a nice time with the girls!
Thanks to all for the prayers for my friend!!
07-20-2009, 06:08 PM
Tammy, prayers coming from up north for your friend too- When is your son planning on getting married? I have one who plans on getting married next summer-we'll see how that goes!!
Tina, how did the open house go? you're quiet.
Sue, do you still have the boot? I know you told us, but I missed it-what kind of operation did you have on your foot?
I didn't weigh in on Saturday morning had another appointment-I'm debating whether I should buy a condo or not-at my age I'm just not sure-
I hope you're all well
07-20-2009, 11:07 PM
Jen, I remember you!!! Every month we start a new thread. You just need to look for it at the beginning of a new month. So glad you are back with us...:carrot:
07-22-2009, 12:11 PM
Hope everyone is doing well! I'm not moving too fast this morning!
Tammy, My best friend and her husband go to Mackinaw Island every year. They love it. It sounds like plans on the go for Tim and Lauren.
Sis, how are you doing?
Maureen, I'm still in the boot when I get out but a shoe boot at home. It's to help transition me to a tennis shoe. Hopefully that won't be too far away.
Jen, how was Paris?
Tina, how's life down in your neck of the woods?
07-23-2009, 12:02 PM
Just a quick fly by to say hello and I hope everyone has a good WI today. I forgot to WI this morning before I left so I'm going to tom. morning.
Have a great day ladies!
07-23-2009, 05:55 PM
Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I'll do better, I promise. :)
'Didn't have a good day on the scales. (You can see that on the weigh-in thread.)
Someone is coming to show our house tomorrow afternoon. Yea!!!! I'm hoping this is a turn in the right direction.
I'm trying to stay OP this week. I'm definitely getting in all my calcium.
07-26-2009, 06:14 PM
My friend had surgery on Tuesday, and she came home on Friday. They did a hysterectomy and removed several lymph nodes for testing. Not sure what the next step is. thanks for all of the prayers, and please keep on praying for her.
Tim is getting married May 15, 2010. It's back to the original plan at her home church. Save money that way. The wedding won't be as small as they wanted, but they have a "cap" of 75 guests. The reception will be very simple, no big meal or dancing. They plan to head for Michigan for a few days for a honeymoon then. By having the wedding closer, we can all save money, and they can put some toward a down payment for a house.
Maureen, any more thoughts on the condo? It's a big decision I know.
Susan, why don't you go with your friends to Mac. Island and I'll meet you there!
Tina, how did the house showing go?
Yesterday morning I did the Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk. I walked and finished in 51 minutes. I was so happy crossing that finish line! Some of my runner friends came out to meet me. I was in tears. I wasn't sure I'd be able to do it. I had been so achy and sore all week, and I missed my classes at the Y. I am so glad that I did it!
07-28-2009, 03:02 PM
It's another hot day here.
Tammy, I'm glad your friend made it through her surgery. I hope things go well for her. And, I hope you feel better soon. You've been feeling so well.
Congratulations to Tim and Lauren for setting a date. Wow, you have a lot of fun times ahead.
Susan, are you having fun?
Jeanne, how are you doing?
Dori, is it hot there?
Jen, how was your trip?
Sis, are you swamped with work?
Maureen, are you going to get a condo? There's so much to think about getting a place, as you well know. I hope you're having good weather so you can walk a lot. That's what I need to do but this weather makes it impossible to go outside.
No luck selling the house yet. :( The guy who came on Friday didn't like the layout of the house. I don't understand that!!! Also, he wanted a place "more livable."
It's no fun having to "spruce up" the house every day, in hopes of people coming over. It's getting old very quickly. But, maybe someone will come by soon---with money!
I haven't been doing well with my weight loss. What's new, huh! I definitely need to drink more water.....
My dvt leg's ankle has been bothering me so I put the compression stocking back on it. Yuck! My dr. is on vacation for 3 weeks. I know that he would tell me to do what I am doing. (I've got an appt. with him when he returns.)
Everyone stay OP and have a great day!!!

Tammy - So glad your friend had surgery and things went well! I will continue to keep her in my prayers!
Tina - I hear ya about the weight loss! Today I did walk a mile, took my vitamins and got in some water. I'm trying, but the scale is moving!
A big shout out and hug to everyone! Have a great day.

Tina, I know how frustrating it can be trying to sell a house. When we sold our first one, it was on the market less than 2 weeks and we had a buyer. This last house took quite a while longer. Hang in there because the right person will come along.
I'm with you on the weight loss. I keep trying, tracking, drinking the water, and I am not losing. I don't even want to go to class tonight to get weighed. I might just go for the bible study, and just tell her that I don't want to weigh. Wonder if I can do that?
Hey Jeanne! Glad to hear from you.

Well, I ended up weighing in last night. not as bad as I expected! I think I might base my tracker on what I do here at home on Thursday mornings. I will be missing next week's meeting, and then we have 2 weeks with class, then we are off a few weeks before starting the fall session. So, since I'm going by my scales, I am off to the weigh in thread!

Hey, our community is going to hold Zumba classes. I wish I was able to take them. This leg (where I had the clots) is sore and I don't want to over-do with exercise.
How is everyone?????? We are a quiet group this week. :(

I haven't weighed in the last few weekends-probably tomorrow morning-we have a long weekend this weekend because I work in Ontario(Ottawa) it's a civic holiday, but I live in Quebec(Hull) so monday morning hopefully I'll be able to transfer my driver's license from Alberta to Quebec(does any of that make sense???) I got a cat on monday evening-someone was moving out west and couldn't take him-he's 2 years old-neutured and a really nice friendly guy. I hope we all have a good day on program and I'll be here on the weekend-good luck Tina on your house-it'll go

Tina, I wish your leg felt good enough to take Zumba. I have had so much fun. I think I am going to sign up for it in the fall at the Y here in town. The Y that I'm going to is about 8 miles away. They offer different classes at different times, and we can go to either one. I'll be back to my aerobics classes on M-W-F starting after Labor Day.
Maureen, hope your weigh in went well. I'm sure the new cat will be lots of company for you. What's his name?
Lazy day today. Maurice and I have just been hanging out. Might need a nap!
08-01-2009, 04:31 PM
I didn't weigh in today-thought I'd do it next week-finally we're getting a day with no rain-apparently we only had 6 days in July with no rain-I'm starting to mold lol-Tammy, they were calling my cat Zeke-but that sounded more like a dog's name so I'm calling him Jack-
Today I took the bus and went around the neighbourhood I grew up in-what changes!! It was nice to get out walking in the sun though-have a great weekend -
I've been volunteering every sunday morning at the Men's Mission in Ottawa-so that's how I spend my sunday mornings-
so tomorrow after the mission I think I'll walk around downtown and take pictures-Ottawa is really a very beautiful city-
08-01-2009, 10:04 PM
I used to call my brother's cat Jake. His name was something I could never remember, so I made up my own. Walking in the sunshine sounds like a nice day. Enjoy tomorrow and taking pictures of Ottawa.
Not sure what is on the agenda tomorrow after church. There are a couple of open houses here in town, and I might go to them just to see what prices of homes are going for these days in town. Tim and Lauren will be looking soon, so I'll help them out by checking out places.
Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Again, I'm not being notified that people are writing.
Maureen, that's wonderful that you have a kitty. He'll be so much company and fun. Great about you being able to walk again.
Tammy, have fun at the Open Houses. Let me know if there are many people at them. Here, people are just not going.
We had a realtor come show our house this afternoon. I haven't gotten the feedback yet.
How is everyone? We're just quiet here, aren't we. Maybe others aren't getting notified, either.

Good morning! I'm not being notified either! I won't be checking from work anymore during the day. Our company is making some changes in the near future. I can't elabirate today, but will keep you posted!
My family and I got a new pet. Yep, a baby lop bunny! He is adorable. He is silver with blue eyes. We can't pick him up until the 9th! But we have been visiting him. haha! He is soooo cute. He will be our "house" bunny. We built him a beautiful pen in our family room in our basement. We are still name searching, but leaning toward Peanut.
Well the coffee and the laundry and the ironing.......is calling out my name! Gosh darn it!!!

If this worked, here he is!
08-02-2009, 09:05 AM
ahhhhhhhhhhhh, it did! I shouldn't have learned to do that!!!! I love pics and "think" I "should" share them with everyone! haha!

Hi everyone. I hope you are all doing great. Been a bit busy with work, my dd's activities and visiting with relatives that are up from florida. I haven't been doing as well as I would like op but I am still working on my mindset. I am trying to be more positive. I know part of my prblm is that I think I am getting mood swings from starting menopause. I just hate the hot flashes but I know it is all part of it. I know this will pass and I will get thru it so I am trying to bear that in mind. Anyways I am still here and thinking of you all. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week end. Take care......Sis

Tina, we only made it to one of the open houses. My brother and his family stopped in, so we missed some since they ended earlier. The one that we did go to, we were the only ones there, and according the the realtor, we were the first ones there. He had been there an hour by himself. It was a cute place, but I don't think Tim liked it much. I couldn't figure out how you would get furniture to the upstairs bedroom. Very narrow and angled stairway. Lots of room downstairs though. 2 living rooms, a den, a family room, HUGE kitchen! I liked the bathroom. Wanted to bring it home with me. Gave me ideas for redoing one here though.
Have you heard anything from your realtor?
Jeanne, Peanut is a cutie!
Hey Sis! Sometimes it is so hard to stay positive when things don't seem to be going the way we want. I'm with you on the menopause stuff. Just when I think I'm finished, something happens! lol
I've already been to the chiropractor and Wal Mart. Not sure what the rest of the day holds. Planning to read. My niece loaned me Pride and Prejudice a month ago, and I still haven't finished it. It took me a while to get into it when I started it, but it is more interesting now.
Tim doesn't work today! I think this is the first day in quite a while that he hasn't been on squad duty or Arby's and he doesn't have something else planned. Next week when he is off, he will be going to visit Lauren.
08-03-2009, 03:50 PM
We had a great trip! We put 1400 miles on the rent car! It was great!
Ok....everyone is getting a new pet! I'm jealous! Actually when we got home, our cats laid on us and didn't move all night long! I think they were glad we were home. I tried to keep up with everyone but you know how it gets.
Tammy, Tim and Lauren will find the right place. Hopefully it will be real close! :)
Tina, any more lookers?
jeanne, the bunny is adorable!!!!
Maureen, how exciting getting a cat! It sounds like you live in a really neat place! Maybe we should all come up and visit :)
Sis, hang in there!
Can you believe that I have to go back to work in 2 weeks! YUCK!!! however, I was told that I'm getting a new assistant that wants to be with my kids and me. Yea!!! Plus I'll have 4 kids most of the day. So hopefully this will be a much better year!!!! I hope!

Susan, welcome home. Sounds like you had a good trip. How is your foot? I'm sorry you couldn't find another job before school started. Hopefully this helper will really help.
Sis, you can do this!!!
Jeanne, the bunny is adorable.
Maureen, you'll have to put a photo of your kitty online for us.
Tammy, no one is buying houses right now.
My realtor is planning another Open House for us in the near future. I drove around the neighborhood and couldn't believe all the houses for sale. I've never seen so many.
We will stay in the house as long as possible. It's in bad condition. Surely there's someone out there with money who wants to build here!
I stayed OP today and yesterday. I'm slowly losing what I gained back.
Everyone stay strong and drink your water!!!
