100 lb. Club - Goals for the Month of July?

View Full Version : Goals for the Month of July?

07-01-2009, 02:10 PM
By the end of this month, I'd love to lose 12.4 pounds. While this may seem like a lot, I'm doing a ton of walking now and I think this is attainable. I'm sort of putting this out there publicly so I can work hard to achieve it.

Why 12.4 pounds you ask? (or if you didn't ask, I'll tell you anyway). Well, back in 2003 I got down to 283. I remember that as being the lowest weight I've ever achieved. This month, I have a chance of getting back there again.

So, what are your goals this month?

Wow, Matt. Good for you. I hope you can do it!

I'm scared to death of July. We're supposed to go camping in the Rockies and I have no idea how to deal with the food issues. I do hope to do a LOT of hiking--I can't wait for that--but the food thing--usually tons of starchy carbs--has me a bit freaked. So, all in all, I'll be very happy not to lose any ground. (I'll start a post about it later.)

I like this post. It is great to see your goals.

After a pretty bad June my goals for July are simple:

Stay on my plan that I outlined in the July Points challenge
Food: 1500 calories per day max
Exercise: 7500 steps or 60 minutes of additional exercise
Water: 64 oz

My goal is to get the maximum 4 points per day every day except the 4 days that I am taking care of my mother-in-law. Getting all the exercise in those days is very difficult, so I will cut myself some slack and be happy with however much exercise I can get. Those days are a little scary to me because taking care of DMIL is a big part of what threw June off but 4 days will be much better than 2 weeks.

2- My standard monthly goal of losing at least 5 pounds. That may not sound like much to those of you who can lose 10+ a month but I will stay happy if I can get my 5 pounds. June was the first month that I did not make that goal but I remind myself that most months I lost more than 5 so it all averages out.

3- Lose the label of "morbidly obese". Now that is a huge one to me and you WILL hear from me when that happens!

Continue to walk the dog everyday and stay away from junk.
Eat a lot more fruit and vegetables!
Paint the basement, kitchen and DD#2 room
Celebrate my 18th wedding anniversary! (Well, that's not really a goal, I mean the date is coming, not like I have to work to get there. But of course, we've had to work to get there ;))

Well, my dream goal would be 169lbs but realistically I'll say 172.8.
I'm 177.8 today but have just had a huge whoosh, so expect to have to struggle to keep it over the next few days.

I want to get on with my last 20 pounds. Since I won the bet I have been playing with the scales. I think it is a self induced scale battle. I have to quit that. I am going to start really heavy on July 12, which is the day after my bday. I have been exercising the whole time, I just need to get my food under control. So, my goal (after all that rambling for the month of July) is to be down 5 pounds and lose the rest at a steady pace.

To get into the 240's
Increase my miles of daily exercise from 4 miles to 6 miles. To also include weights into my workouts.
To continue to keep track of my calories and to keep a positive attitude.
To not be obsessed with the scales more than what my clothes and measuring tape tell me.

07-01-2009, 05:12 PM
My big goal is to stay on track for my first full month in almost 2 years.

I would like to lose 10 pounds.

Best of luck to everyone!!

To not be obsessed with the scales more than what my clothes and measuring tape tell me.

This is a big one for me. Thanks for reminding me of this :)

to get serious and start eating REAL food. I'm moving on friday and kinda living out of boxes. everything's packed up so I'm eating lean cuisines and slim fasts. ugh. can't wait to start doing this for real! oh and to maybe lose 10 pounds by month's end.

Ooh, since I don't do well with x number of pounds by x date, I'll just say my goal is to get off my rear and start exercising more. Heat is generally an excuse I use to avoid it, but now that I have a treadmill, I'm going to flip on the A/C and walk.

I gained 30 pounds since Hurricane Ike and all his fury, so I finally decided to restart my weightloss now that my life is back to as normal as it will ever be. :)

1) Lose 12 pounds
2) Work out for at least 5 hrs a week
3) Drink 10-12 glasses of water/day
4) Stay within my calorie range of 1400-1600/day.

07-01-2009, 07:43 PM
To finally reach the 150's lol It seems like it's taking forever!!

To start waking up with my DH at 5am and exercise then since the kids are waking up at 6am (my usual treadmill time).

My goal is to lose half a kilo a week for the next month, so that's 4.4 pounds by the end of July.

07-01-2009, 08:38 PM
This month is my birthday (which is no big deal) and a 12-day vacation with four of my very best friends, so I don't have terribly lofty goals for the month, weight loss-wise. Frankly, I will just be happy to break my plateau and get out of the 160s for good. :)
