I'm feeling better this morning. They gave us sooooo much to read on diabetes we don't know where to start. The Dr. gave Pete a note that he will be in her care for 1 month so he took 4 weeks emergency vacation. What a vacation huh:rolleyes: He can't take short term disability because he would have to wait a month for a check & we can't afford that right now so that's why he took vac. It will give him time to recuperate. I'll be off for 2 weeks starting July 8th. His sugar was 311 as of yesterday evening. Our Dr. said there was a possibility he would be discharged today but I doubt it. If his sugar is still that high today I don't think she'll send him home. I'll find out a little later. I usually call him around 6:30 a.m. Everyone has been so nice at Brookhaven Hospital. I heard so many horror stories about that hospital & I must say Pete has had great care, from the nurses aides to the nurses, Drs., dietician even the cleaning lady! So thumbs up to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in Suffolk County. I have to go to work today for at least 1/2 day. If he's not released today I'll work till 3:00.

Have to get ready. Have a great day:) Don't forget to drink your water.

Love, Es

PS I learned a lesson from all this. Sweets are a :nono:

Es,
I am so glad that you are feeling better. I hope Pete gets to come home soon. I had one experience at Brookhaven Hospital, it was in the ER after a car accident on Nichols Road. My experience was that once I got in for treatment they were fine, but the people in the ER check-in/waiting area were very rude. GIve Pete our love, even though he has no idea who we are, we are praying for him!

HI everyone,
Well it's Wed and that means WI. For the third week in a row no change. I don't feel so bad about it this week though, because I actually thought I was going to gain. I also have another retirement part to go to today. There are so many people retiring around here I am wondering who besides me is going to be left to turn off the lights

Hope everyone has a good hump day

Hey Es - Glad you are feeling better today. I'm sure the more you learn about the diabetes the better it will be for both you and Pete. I hope he comes home soon. Love to both of you!

Janie - Good for you - maintaining is a good thing!

Don't have much time - busy, busy today. Hi to all my good buddies - hope you're all doing good.

Hugs,
Dianne

Es,
I am in agreement with Janie and Dianne.....glad to hear that Pete's a bit better and hope you're home together soon. Hospital stays can be unsettling, no matter which facility it is; when it's a positive experience it's a relief.

Janie,
Way to go on the maintain, which, as Terri always said, is not easy to do!

Dianne,
Good to hear from you :D hope all is well.

 HI to everyone!

A quick hello:wave:

I'm getting ready for work. Pete's home!! He's doing well. Everything seems a little confusing right now(food) but it'll get easier. He wanted me to stay home today but I have to go to work. I'll probably call him 50 times:lol:

Have a great day:)

Love you's

Es,
So happy to hear that Pete is back home! The food changes will take some getting used to, but I'm confident that you and he will adapt successfully and make it work for him. Will he have to have insulin injections or control it with medication?

Today is Matthew's 2nd birthday. He's growing up soooo quickly, not a baby anymore! We're having a mini party here on Sunday to celebrate.

Es - How great that Pete's home. You must be so relieved. You probably WILL call him at least 50 times today. Well at least you have the next 3 days with him before having to go back to work. Give him a welcome home hug from me (not trying to be fresh or anything, LOL!!!).

Jen - Happy Birthday to Matthew - wow, I remember in one of your posts when you mentioned that he was 4 months old! How quickly the time goes. Enjoy him and his birthday party!

Hi Zoe Girl, Janie, Myra, Ruth, Terri, Mel, Sandy, etc. (sorry if I missed anyone!) Have a great day everyone.

Es,
:spin: Thank goodness Pete is home :spin: I know you will get the hang of the food. If you could get the hang of WW, there is a lot of overlap.

Jen,
:hb: to Matthew. 2 is such a fun age. They really start to show their personalities at that age.

Dianne,
It was good to hear from you. How are you doing girl? I have been thinking about you a lot lately.

 everybody,
I like Thursdays because it is girl's night out with Ellen. Hope you all have a nice Thur too.

Terri and Myra come back :^:

Essie,
I haven't had time to check the posts but I read where Pete was in the hospital. I am so sorry. I hope and pray he is better.
Diabetes? Were you sick too? Please get better.
I haven't had a chance to get on-line since we left on the thirteenth.
Colorado Springs is beautiful. The fires are in no way impacting Col. Springs. Phew. The big one is supposed to be contained fully by tomorrow. Fingers are crossed. These poor people. I saw so many pictures in the paper. We have been running around a lot. We went to the top of Pikes Peak (14,110 ft.
up), The Garden of the Gods, The Air Force Academy and the beautiful
chapel, 7 Falls and we are seeing the Olympic Training Center
today. There is so much to see and do. I am glad we have 6 weeks.
We might take a few weekend trips to see the Grand Canyon and such.
The Rocky Mountains are beautiful. We can see them from our balcony.
They are breathtaking. The kids will never forget this. I know I
won't. We went by the St. Louis Arch and will stop for pictures on
the way back. That was awesome.
How is everyone there? I am going to read some posts later. Miss
you.
Terri

ESSIE, glad to hear that Pete is home. I'm still praying for you guys.

TERRI, glad to finally hear from you. Colorado sounds wonderful (except for the fires), glad to hear that the fires aren't near you guys.

Well, I've got to run. It is 1 am and I have a 9:00 class tomorrow. It's my last English class for the summer, I had to write an essay and catch up on some reading which requires my writing summaries for each one. Anyway, I'm finally done.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Thanks Ruth. Good luck on your essay. You are such a sweetie.

Essie,
I was reading a little yesterday and I saw how Pete lost all that weight and how stressful everything was. I am so sorry. I am so glad they found out what was wrong. My dad found out he had diabetes in his late fifties. He did very well with the food. We weren't sure if he would. Please keep us informed. Here is a big

Hi everyone,

We're in a heat wave here in the midwest, with temps being forecasted for the 90's all week. :D Yesterday was extremely muggy, we had a full house/pool.

The good thing about the extreme heat is that I don't have much of an appetite. It's so refreshing to drink lots of water and eat lightly, salads, etc. Hopefully that'll show up on the scale!

I've been exercising half-a**ed, on a very irregular basis. Actually I've been very busy doing gardening and yard work, so at least I'm staying active.

Does everyone have plans for the 4th? We're still undecided, I have the feeling Joe would be happier staying at home rather than fighting crowds to see fireworks. I'm beginning to feel the same. We'll see.

take care,
~Jen

Hi gals,
I haven't posted because I have been kind of depressed and consequenty not staying OP. ANyway, I found out Friday that a different job I applied for, I probably won't even get offered an interview. Then Sat I found out that the other job I had told you about was offered to the other guy. So anyway, I'm thinking if I can't even get a job when the department head is a good friend and batting for me, how am I going to find one for real. I went and talked to a career counselor this morning. It helped a little, but I am still feeling very useless. Poor Steve. He has to live with me when I am like this. When I can't find anything but fault with myself, I tend to project that on him too. I make such a mountain out of every little mole hill. Sorry to be such a drag.

Thanks for listening,
JanieD

Hey girls:

Janie, first and foremost - You are not useless!! You are an intelligent woman and don't you forget it. You are going though a rough patch right now, but hang in there. Things happen for a reason - maybe something better is in store for you. And you are not a drag - I think we have all had our problems, big and small and I myself feel good knowing that I can come here and unload if necessary. So, please don't feel bad about doing that yourself. And from how you've described Steve in the past, I'm sure he's understanding what you're going through right now and will be supportive. Hang in there girl - do something good for yourself today - you'll feel better.

Hey Jen - Are you taking advantage of that pool girl? And can I come over? lol. Its hot as H--l here in NY too. As for the 4th of July, we usually go upstate, but this year we were invited to my step-daughter's Lisa's house for a barbecue and she has a pool too, so that should be cool. Plus she had that little "Strawberry Irish Puffy Jade" person and the other kids to lure us there, lol.

Es - how are you sweetie? And how is Pete? I hope everything is going okay with you guys. Hugs to both of you, amiga!

Hey Terri - I read your post about all the things you guys are doing in Colorado - sounds wonderful!
Enjoy your time there, I'm sure the kids will never forget this experience.

Hey Zoe Girl - what's up? How's patty? LOLOLOL

Hi Ruth - how's school? How did you do on your English paper?

Hi Sandy, Myra and anyone else I missed - hope you guys are all okay.

I have two more days of work and then on vacation until July 15. I only took a week now, because in September Willie and I are taking our first cruise and we'll take 2 weeks then so we can stop by my Son Steven's house in Florida on the way back. I can't wait for the cruise and to see Steven and his family. Alana is there now, but coming home on Friday. I sure did miss her!

Well, have a great day everyone, talk to you's later.

Hugs,
Dianne

Hello My Buds:D

Boy, I missed you guys!! I've been so busy I haven't had time to get online.

I changed my email address again:eek: Sorry:( I love AOL. The only thing is that it's slow. I had Optimum Online & it's fast but it's $40 a month. So now it's Essie426@aol.com

Pete is 100% better. He put on a few pounds, has his appetite back, is joking around & back to his lovable self. Thanks for all your support. It really helped me more than you know. I really love you all.

Dianne, I laugh when you call your granddaughter Strawberry Irish Puffy Jade:lol: She sounds so adorable. I hope you have a great time July 4th. ;)

JanieD, I live by Dianne's words - things happen for a reason & that there's something better. I hope you feel better soon buddy;)

Jen, let's not even talk about exercise. I haven't exercised in quite a while. I'll be getting back on track now that Pete is better. Enjoy your pool:cool:

Zoe/Patti:lol: how's the challenge going? I'll be back there in a couple of days.

Terri, I was so happy to see your post. Colorado Springs, Rocky Mountains, sounds beautiful. Say hi to Brittany:wave: I needed that hug.

Ruth, how's it going? Are you still walking?

Well, I have a lot of catching up to do!!

Till tomorrow,

Love,
Es

Es, I'm so glad that things are getting better with Pete's health! It is very heartwarming to hear you cheerful again. Have you had to make many adjustments with his/your diet to follow the diabetic guidelines?
I don't blame you about the aol situation.......I would love get a different server, but know that aol is best for us right now.

Dianne, It sounds like you'll have a great 4th with family and little Jade! How old is she now? Joe is taking off the same week......the week after the 4th, and I can't wait! Where are you going on your cruise again? I know you'll have a great time.

Janie, I'm so sorry that the job didn't pan out as you had hoped, or that we had hoped for you. BUT, that was only THAT job......don't feel useless. You have earned the respect of many co-workers, and others, many of whom thought you would be perfect for the job. As Dianne said, there is probably something better waiting for you. I would imagine you're already planning your next move.......right? YOU GO GIRL!!!!! Consider us your official cheerleaders!

Terri, I'd guess that you and your family are very busy right now. And you should be! I agree, this is an opportunity that the kids won't easily forget. What a great way for them (and MOM) to spend a summer!

SO.......how's everyone else? Ruth, I hope school went well. I finally registered for Accounting 102 (I'm a glutton for punishment)for the fall. I may add another computer class, as I'm sadly lacking in that area, as evidenced by my ignorance in putting together this new computer!
Sandy ,how's your son's break healing? And I hope your Mom continues to improve. And what about YOU? how are you doing?
HI  to anyone else I may have missed.....

Es,
I am so glad that Pete is back to normal. Will he be able to contol his sugar just with diet or will he require meds?

Jen, Es, and Dianne,
Thanks so much for your encouraging words. I do feel somewhat better today, but I know that when I WI tomorrow I will not be happy. Why is it that chocolate is no necessary at these times? Steve was so sweet he actually went out to the store last night just to get me some choc. WHen he came back and said, "I thought you might need this."
To make matters worse I am going out to lunch with my girlfriend today. If I skip WI this week will you guys mind?:o

HAve a good TUesday everyone

Hi everyone

Just stopping in to say hi since I haven't been around for a few days. Things are crazy here and my daughter is coming tomorrow for a week (from Tampa, FL). She comes almost every year for her birthday which is the 4th of July. So I'm trying to work 8 hours a day, do things around the house and get food in the house....YIKES! Food!!!!!! Ha....

Es my friend, I am so, so, SO happy to hear that Pete is 100% better. I know you must be so happy. Come see us over on the challenge....I'm at my first mini goal! :D

Anyway, can't talk to everyone tonight but I'll write again in the next day or so. I am just praying to do well over the holiday weekend.

Have a great Wednesday y'all....opps, I mean you's guys. :D:D

HI everyone,
I did WI after all, and gained 1.5 lb. Not as bad as I thought, expecially since TOM arrived last night. That is probably another reason I needed the choc and why I was feeling particularly down. This peri-menapause(sp?) thing stinks. I never know when TOM is coming. I also hate the night sweats. I have started taking soy suppliments and that has helped somewhat with the night sweats. Now I'm just damp instead of drenched.

Have a great 4th everyone,
JanieD

Hi Girls:wave:

This weather is horrible. It is so humid I can't stand it. I told you I'm not a summer person. I AM ON VACATION FOR 2 WEEKS!!!!:D I go back to work 7/22. We really don't have plans but we'll make the best of it. I love the East End of Long Island so we'll make a few trips out there. Tha't where the rich people live. It's gorgeous.

Janie, Pete has to take insulin. Once a day he takes a new one that's called Lantus then he has to check his sugar before meals & take a certain amount of units to make up for the carbs he eats. It's a pain but at least he's okay. :) Don't feel so bad about your small gain. You'll lose it by next week. Since Pete lost weight I weigh more than him now:eek: I really need to lose at least 15 pounds. I'm trying:shrug: I'm 48 & I still don't get menopause symptoms but I know it's just a matter of time.

Zoe, have a great time with your daughter. I'm spending July 4th with David, my nephew & his wife & their son, Lil Louie(so cute), my oldest sister & Pete of course. I'm looking forward to it. Enjoy;)

Jen, a few people have asked me if I'm going to follow Pete's diet but I'm so useto the points that I really don't want to go back to exchanges even though I did well with that program yrs. ago. He has to follow a low carb 2500 calorie diet. Since he's active he could eat more. He's so deciplined. Stay with AOL! It's the best one. We pay a little more but it's worth it.

I'll be back. I'm getting beeped.

Essie,
I AM SO GLAD that PETE is 100%. I was worried for you. You two are too cute for anything to spoil it. You have so much fun.
I am thinking of you. Brittany says hi!!!!!!
I hope the heat lets up for you.

JanieD,
I am so sorry that you didn't get that job. You are a wonderful human being. Don't let this experience let you forget that.
It'll happen I am sure of it.
It is great that you weighed. 1.5 isn't bad. Things will look up. Steve sounds so sweet. Good luck.

Zoe,
Thanks for the greeting. Have a great time with your daughter. That is so sweet.

Dianne,
Have a great time on the cruise. They are great!!!! You deserve it. Have fun with Alana for the rest of the summer.
The kids are loving it here. It will be hard to get them to leave.

Jen,
The weather here is wonderful. The avg. temp this time of year is 83 and it is chilly at night. I can live with that. Very low humidity. That wasn't good for the Hayman fire but at least it is 100% contained now. The Arizona fire is expected to be 100% contained on Sunday. I just don't understand people.
On the 4th we are hoing to the Air Force Academy for a Lazer Light show since the State will not allow Fireworks and I can't say I blame them. It is too dry and they sure don't need another fire.
During the day we are going to the Olympic Training Center.
Have fun tomorrow. I like to stay home too. I will get out as late as I can. LOL

I lost 1 pound last week. 1/2 more to go to break even. Don't think it will be this week. If I go home in Aug. maintained I will be happy. Britts lost 8 since we we got here. She walks 4 miles a day and does weights three days a week. She is stoked. LOL
I walk 2 miles almost every day and do weights with her. She loves to walk and look at the Rockies while she is doing it. She says it is tranquil. No wonder it is the fittest city in America right now. The Rockies do kind of put you in a trance. LOL I feel it too when I walk.
I hope you all have a great 4th.
Love y'all,
Terri

Hi Everybody:wave:

I wanted to get back online yesterday but one thing led to another.

Terri, I'm so glad the kids love it there. Sounds like I would love it too. Way to Go Brittany!!!! Tell her she has a #1 fan in Long Island. I love to hear that teenagers are into exercise. My brother was 14 when he started lifting weights. Brittany is keeping you in shape huh:D Say hi to the family:wave: Have fun!

Jen, Dianne, Zoe, Ruth, Sandy, Janie, have a Happy & Safe 4th of July.

Till tomorrow.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Just did a whole post and got knocked off before I could hit submit!! I hate when that happens:mad:

Anyway, just wanted to wish my girls a HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!

I'm cooking my rice - that's my contribution to the barbecue at Lisa's. I'm making 2 rices - one yellow rice with gandules (pidgeon peas - not from real pidgeons:p ) with olives and capers and one yellow rice with garbanzos (chick peas - also not from real chicks:s: ). We plan on leaving Lisa's about 7:30 and heading over to Long Island City to see the Macy's fireworks on top of the Telephone Co. (Willie's job) roof. That should be cool.

Anyway, gotta run - everyone have a great and safe holiday with your families - enjoy.

God Bless America - now more than ever!!!

Hugs,
Dianne

P.S. Jen - the cruise is to Cozumel, Mexico, Ocho Rios, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands - Can't wait! Oh and Jessalyn Jade (I call her Jessa) turned 1 in May.

Talk to you's tomorrow. I'm on vacation until July15th!!! Alana's coming home tomorrow, YEAH!!!!!

Happy Friday:D

It was a nice quiet but very hot fourth of July. Just standing we were sweating. I was home by 7:00.

Dianne, I love arroz con gandules & so does Pete. I haven't made it with garbanzos in a while. Love that too. How were the fireworks? Must have been beautiful. Your cruise sounds like a dream come true. I may be planning one for next year. The only problem with that is whenever I plan something my sisters invite themselves. My oldest sister always wants to be with me but I can't take my BIL's drinking. HE'S SUCH A PAIN!! He's an alcoholic. Talking about alcoholics, my other sister started drinking again. Do you remember last yr. she was in an accident & got arrested, stayed in jail overnight? She got a DWI. Well, we thought she learned her lesson.

I forgot to tell you girls we're going to see Mark Anthony at Jones Beach Sunday!!! I am so excited. This will be Pete's 1st concert.

Terri, I am so glad you're able to post & let us know how you're doing. How was the Lazer Light show?

Zoe, hope you had a nice time with your daughter. Happy Birthday Patti's daughter:hb:

Well guys, being on program has gotten a little easier. I haven't been journaling but I know more or less how many points cause I pretty much eat the same thing with a few variations. I know I could follow Pete's diet but I'm happy with the points plan. I'm still at 175:rolleyes:

I have a pretty busy day ahead of me, hair dresser, shopping for a baby gift, out to lunch with Pete & David, Bro's house, whew!

Later:)

Love,
Es

Hi everyone!

Hope the 4th was good for all.

Es, it sounds as though things are looking up for both Pete and you. While it may take a bit of adjusting for him to get used to his new lifestyle, I'm positive it'll be made easier by having you there for him. And vice versa, he will provide you with the example/support you need. Just take a day at a time.
I'm so sorry to hear your sister is drinking again; it's such an evil disease, which rips many relationships apart.
It's so cool that you're seeing Marc Anthony! I love going to concerts, any type of live music is awesome. Have fun! :D

Dianne, hope the fireworks were cool. Your cruise sounds wonderful. :) I've never wanted to do on a cruise, but lately I've been thinking it'd be the way to go. My SIL has been married to a PuertoRican for many years, she makes yellow rice w/garbanzos, also has chicken in it (?) Joe absolutely loves it.

Terri, it sounds exactly how I thought it would! CO's weather must be great, I could take that. Britts is doing wonderfully...give her a high 5 for us!

Joe is on vacation till the 15 also!!!! We've got just about every day accounted for......am hoping to have some more hot days to spend in the pool. :D

Good morning buddies

Ahhhhhhhh, its so nice to be on vacation:smug:

Well, the 4th of July didn't turn out exactly as planned. We had such a great time at Lisa's, we decided NOT to leave to go watch the fireworks. I had that little ole Jessa tied to my hip all day long:D She loves the pool and didn't want to come out, so, of course, I obliged and spent most of my day in the pool with her, ;) But we got to see some neighborhood fireworks anyway, so that was cool.

Es - OMG - Alana and I love Mark Anthony. We've seen him a few times in concert and he puts on a great show. We saw him a few years ago in "The Capeman" as well and Alana has a picture with him hugging her - she was "to die for" On her 17th birthday her brother had a cake made with her and Mark's picture on it:p Anyway, you will have a great time!!!

Jen - Are you enjoying that pool? The temps here have gone done a bit - actually feels bearable now. Willie and I went into the city yesterday to see a concert and then we went to our favorite stores - his is Tower Records - mine is Barnes and Nobles, lol. They are across the street from each other, so we each go our separate ways and set a time to meet - we're soooooo synchronized, lol. We both could spend hours in those stores. Your sister-in-law is probably making arroz con pollo - yummy! I haven't had that in awhile.

Zoe Girl - Hey there! I hope you are having a great time with your daughter. Daughter's are sooooooooo cool (sons are too Es! ) Enjoy!

Janie - Speaking of daughters, how is Ellen? Is she enjoying her summer? Its so cool how you guys have your "girls nite out".

Terri - more speaking of daughters - Brittany sounds like she's doing sooooooooo fantastic with ww. Way to go!

Ruth - More daughters, lol. How are yours doing? And how is school for you?

Even more speaking of daughters - mine DID NOT return home yesterday. Her big brother has been talking her into getting her driver's license while she's in Florida and then she'd just have to switch it over to a NY license when she gets back. Well, of course, last minute - they decided to have her take the road test early yesterday morning, thinking she would still have time to make the plane. Needless to say, she did not! Soooooo, since the weather is now good in Florida (it had rained most of her time there), she decided to stay an extra week. So, now she's coming home next week:( Oh, well, at least I cleaned her room yesterday, so won't have much to do before she gets back. P.S. -She got her license! She already told willie on the phone yesterday, "the car is mine after 7 p.m. every nite":dizzy:

Hi Sandy - how are you doing?

Well, let me go, Willie and I are gonna head to the beach today, I think, we just play it by ear.

Have a great day everyone!

Hugs,

Dianne

I'm so looking forward to tonight for the Mark Anthony concert.
Dianne, I love him. I saw him perform on HBO & the music made me want to get up & dance. My sister, my nephew's wife & a couple of her friends are going. We didn't buy our tickets at the same time so we won't be sitting together. Alana's cake must have looked so cool! I bet you can't wait for her to come home.

Pete is doing so well I was telling him he probably won't have to take insulin through out the day. He's been in the normal range for the past couple of days. God always answers our prayers. We went to the track yesterday & jogged/walked for 1 hour. It felt so good. I could tell I'm a little out of shape cause my legs are hurting this morning. I walked half way & jogged half way.

Jen, since Pete has to count carbs it reminds me of the points plan. I was just telling him that. I feel since I've been helping him it has kept me on track. He is so deciplined. When the Dr. tells him to do something he does it. He has an appt. tomorrow. He gained a little weight. He's up to 170. Five more pounds & we'll weigh the same. I never tell him how much I weigh & he knows NOT TO ASK. Enjoy the pool.

Hi Terri:wave:

I see that Myra left us:( She's on another thread. Myra, if you're lurking we miss you!

Well my buds, have a wonderful Sunday. I'll be back tomorrow morning to let you know how much I enjoyed the concert:D

Stay cool & don't forget your water.

Love,
Es

Hello my friends.....just checking in so you don't forget me. With Jenna here, it's been run, run, run. She will be here until Tuesday so I'll be gone until Tuesday night. Oh, and as for my eating. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH......<sigh> that 10.5 lbs I lost is being sabbotaged ~ but, I'll be okay.

I'll be back Tuesday night.

Miss you's guys,

Hi girls!

Es, It sounds as though Pete is doing everything right....it's definitely showing in his blood sugar count, right? Way to go on the walking!
Let us know how great the Marc Anthony concert was...I'll be you loved it. :D

Dianne, 2 ways to go on this.....sorry Alana didn't come home when you expected her :( BUT :D she got her license!! very cool Oh, and, was it you who mentioned about me doing Joey's laundry? And,......you're cleaning Alana's room:  typical mothers, right? I'll bet you loved being with Jessa on your hip. There's nothing like it. Matt is in limbo, loves being cuddled, yet is also loving being a boy, all boy! Having them in the pool is such a gas, we have a great time.

Zoe, hope you're having a great time with Jenna! You've been very good with the program in the past, I'm confident you'll make up for the visit. Enjoy!

As far as me being OP.....forget it. Just not happening right now. I know it's time for me to begin again, with a vengeance. And, believe me, y'all will be the first to know!!!!

HI  to Terri, Ruth, Sandy, Janie, Myra, and whoever else is reading us!!

Hi Girls:wave:

Concert was great. He is such a great performer. We were way up in the stadium. When I first got there I felt dizzy from being so high up but then after a while I was okay. Pete enjoyed it. He thanked me for taking him to his first concert. What a guy.:D You never know who you're going to meet. Three rows in front of us was a lady from my church who left her husband for another man whose from our church:eek: I could tell they were very embarrassed.:o

Jen & Zoe, being OP is a struggle. For me, it's the journaling. I can't seem to stick to it. We'll be alright. We have to hang tough!

Zoe, glad to hear you're spending time with Jenna. What a pretty name.

Jen, I just noticed I've been spelling Marc A.'s name with a K instead of a C. I should have known that since I'm his #1 fan!

Have a great day guys:wave:

Luv u's,

Good Monday Morning my friends......well, I'm sneaking in a note before we're out for the day. This is my last full day with Jenna as she leaves on a 12 noon flight tomorrow to go back home. As I stated in my previous post, my eating has been so BAD, BAD, BAD. :( Not to worry though......I will be back on track tomorrow morning (I say that as we plan to eat lunch at the Cheesecake Factory today....UGH!) and won't even get on the scale to see the damages. I will not weigh again until NEXT week.

I will be leaving here Friday around noon for Seattle on a business trip and will be back late Monday night. It seems that my time is not my own anymore but once that trip is over, I think I can get back to normal......(normal? Did I say normal??)

I hope you's guys are doing great and doing better than I am with your eating. I'll be back to chat again tomorrow night. Have a wonderful Monday!

Hi gals,
I have been drowning my misery in food and drink for the past 1 1/2 weeks. I gave myself till the end of the holiday weekend to mourn, and now I am back on program with a vengence. I don't remember which of you was saying that the journaling is the hard part but I certainly agree. I write down breakfast, lunch, and even my mid afternoon snack. After that I seem to loose it. My evenings are so busy that I never get back to my journal.

Do any of you have a PDA (palm pilot). I am thinking of getting one and I wanted to know what people think of them. I wonder if I would spend the money and then never use it.

It sounds like you all had very nice 4ths. We went to a friends house (they have a pool) for a BBQ and then walked to my church to see the local fireworks display. My church is right next to the city park where they put on the display. The city charges to get into the park but my church doesn't charge it's members. It got quite chilly that night, so the 6 of us were all huddled under a single sleeping bag.

Got to get back to work,
JanieD

Janie,
You are definitely NOT alone in the journalling problem! I begin each day very well, and last thru breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack......and then.....the dreaded evening hours. That is the reason the reverse journalling was intriguing to me: counting points beginning with dinner, and ending the next day at lunch. However, I never gave it a proper chance.

Zoe,
Things will get better! Meanwhile, enjoy your lunch ;) Glad you had a good visit with your niece. Weigh in might not be as bad as you fear.

Es,
Glad the concert was good! That's so cute about Pete thanking you
We had nosebleed seats also when we went to see McCartney; after a while you get used to it, like you said. Doesn't matter really, just to be in the same room with him was a thrill.

It's so hot here! On Saturday we attended an outdoor art fair; we had a good workout walking in the sun and heat. Yesterday we went to the flea market....big mistake, so hot and humid, I was exhausted the rest of the day. Right now it's too much to even be in the yard; we've been going swimming at around 4 o'clock, it's less brutal then. But we're enjoying our week together. Tomorrow is our annual shopping trip to the outlet malls :D followed by the weekly concert in the park our village puts on.

I'll be back later this evening; see you then!

Well, my long week is over and I went back to work yesterday. My daughter's visit was great but alas, she has now gone back home and we're back to our usual routine. My eating was bad, bad, bad while she was here. I am so upset with myself and so ashamed after being so good for a month!! :(

I didn't get back on track yesterday, it was just too hard but today is a new day and I'm ready. I will be leaving town for Seattle on Friday and will be back on Monday night (business trip) but I am really hoping and planning to stick to this. No reason I shouldn't.

Well, I need to be off to work. Have a wonderful day you's guys. My life should be back to normal by next week, mid week. :D

Hi Buddies:wave:

Zoe, my friend, this program is for life. There are going to be many times that we'll go off for a while but we get right back on track. The main thing is not to stay off for too long. I know we lead busy lives but if you can get some type of cardio in a few days a week it would help you maintain instead of gain. My problem is journaling. I start out fine but as the day progresses I tend to slack off. Late night snacking is not helping me at all. I have my ups & downs but one thing I know for sure I will never give up. No way Jose! :) Hope your business trip goes well & keep your chin up ;)

Jen, the weather here is nice, finally. I couldn't stand the heat & humidity. Today is beautiful. Going out in a little while. We're thinking on visiting my sister. Her drinking has gotten out of control. Maybe I could talk some sense into her.

Terri, hope you're having a good time. Hi Brittany:wave:

Dianne, Marc Anthony is such a cutie!! He's in today's Newsday.
Hope all is well with you.

Janie, I don't have a palm pilot but my brother does. He uses it all the time. I'm thinking on getting one in the near future. We're the same when it comes to journaling. We have to make a promise to eachother that we'll write everything down. Breakfast thru night snacking.:)

Well girls, have to get dressed. I haven't been out at all today & the weather is too nice to be indoors. Hope my sister is not in a weepy mood:rolleyes:

I'll be back later.

Love,
Es

Es,
Thanks for your kind words. Britt's appreciated it.
The lazer show was ok but we got to see some fireworks from the Sky Sox (minor league) game from our balcony.
they were beautiful.
How was the concert? Britt's loves him and Enrique Iglasius.
Did Pete enjoy it?
Hope you get on the cruise, by yourselves.
I am so glad that Pete is doing better. That is wonderful about the insulin.

Jen,
Colorado is beautiful. I am absolutely in love with it.
I hope you enjoy the rest of Joe's vacation.

Dianne,
Britt's doesn't want to get her liscense. She is nervous. We will see how far she goes. I am glad Alana is having a good time.

JanieD.
Good luck to you and I hope that everything works out for you.
I have a palm pilot. I love it. I use it a lot.

Zoe,
I am glad you had a nice visit with your daughter. Good luck. I know you will be back on and doing great.

Well guys. We went to Breckinridge, Co. (big ski resort town). It is beautiful. We drove there through the Pikes National Forest to get there. The serenity there is awesome. We ate at Bubba Gumps restaurant. Everything is centered around the Forrest Gump movie . It was so cute. It is about 1.5 hrs. from here.
The town is soo adorable.
But when I woke the next morning my sister called and told me my dad fell and broke his hip. He was operated on today and he came through it ok. He has cardiomyopathy and is very frail anyway. He certainly didn't need this. I was so worried about the anesthesia. He is only 130 pounds. My sister is there and is keeping me informed. I was ready to fly home but they said no. They wanted me to stay because this is a chance in a lifetime. My sister and BIL are supposed to come down next week. We will see. My mom insists she go. They will have a nurse once he goes home, for awhile.

I hope everyone has a good rest of the week. Talk to you this weekend.
love,
Terri

Terri,
I'm so sorry about your Dad's fall, thank goodness he came through the surgery allright. Perhaps you can go see him when you return from CO; by then he'll be happy to see a fresh face! Know that he's in good hands, and that you're doing the right thing by staying with Bruce and the kids.

Hi Girls:wave:

Terri, I'm very sorry to hear about your Dad's fall. I'm sure it's a little relief knowing your sis is there. Like Jen said, he's in good hands. I'll be praying for him.
The concert was great. Pete enjoyed it alot. There wasn't an empty seat! In the beginning I saw something flying across the stage(too far away) & it was a red thong:rolleyes: He was so cool about it. He's a cutie potootie. We had fun.

Jen, is Joe enjoying his vacation? It seems to be going by so fast. I return to work the 22nd. Have to make the best of each day. We're planning to take a ride to the end of Long Island, Montauk Point. It's 1 1/2 hrs. from where I live. Today is the perfect day for it. Enjoy the pool. ;)

Zoe, have a safe trip.

Well, gotta go. Have a great day everybody!

Es,
Yes, Joe's vacation is fine so far.......going by much too quickly for him though! I wish he had taken two weeks, but can tell he's already getting antsy by being so relaxed. Not me, I could veg forever  he's the active type. Absolutely true about opposites attract!
We're going to the horse races today. It's cloudy and cool, definitely not swimming weather :( but the weekend is promising a warmup.
Have a good time today, a nice long ride like that is fun.

Hi gals,
Thanks so much for all your supportive words. I am starting to feel a little better about myself. I have stayed OP every day since Mon...so far.
Yesterday was WI and i had gained .5 lb, but again I was pleased that it was such a small gain considering how badly I was eating (and drinking) last week, with the holiday and everything.

Terri,
I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I know he has not been well for quite some time but that is very scary. I am glad he came out of the surgery ok. I will keep him in my prayers.

Es,
I know what you mean about forgetting to journal in the evening. I was thinking if I got a PDA i could program it to beep at me or something if I don't journal. Just something to keep me honest.

Jen,
Sorry that you arent' having such nice weather. Right now I would like to don my dive gear and just live underwater in your swimming pool. It has been over 100 here in Livermore for the past 4 days. I usually try to dress fairly professionally for work but when the temp gets over 95 I bail and wear sundresses to work. I don't give a .... The other thing is that when the weather gets this hot the air quality gets really bad (we're not as bad as LA but it can get pretty bad here) and then Ellen and I both suffer with our asthma. I'm ok, Iv'e had it long enough and know how to take care of myself, but Ellen is terrified of the inhaler. I don't know what to do to get her to take it. I just mention it and she gets all panicky and then that makes the asthma worse. DO any of you experienced moms have any ideas?

Have a great Thur everyone,
JanieD

Hello all.....just a quick note before I leave for my Seattle trip. I have to be there for business through late Monday so I'll be back here on Tuesday night.

I wasn't able to get myself back on track so I thought that if I weighed to see the damages, it would shock me into being good. Well, my weight gain for my vacation (when my daughter was visiting last week) was only 2 pounds. I say "ONLY" because if you saw what I ate, you would never believe it was only 2 pounds. So I feel good and am hoping that when weigh in comes again (Tuesday morning), I will be at least back to my 10.5 loss.

Have a great week/weekend. Talk to y'all on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll miss you's guys.

Good morning everyone: Can't believe I'm on vacation and up at 7:30 a.m. Come Monday, and I'll have a hard time getting up for work:s: Well, I haven't posted in a couple of days because Willie and I took 4 of our grandchildren to the country on Tuesday and we got home yesterday. It was exhausting - not easy to keep 4 kids from getting bored, lol. Of course they had the pool, video games, we went to dinner, we played cards, monopoly, etc. but if kids aren't doing something 24/7, they're bored! Especially with no TV!

Anyway, we were happy to deposit them back to their parents yesterday. I felt bad because Justin was playing in Lincoln Center last night and I was soooooooooo tired, I didn't go. Willie went of course, so he represented us,

Alana comes home today (I think!) And Justin has been sleeping in her room (cause he has so much crap in his) so I have to clean it again - it looked so good last week.

Jen - you got me - you with Joey's laundry and me with Alana's room  Hope you and Joe enjoy the rest of your vacation. It's going tooooooo fast for me!

Terri - I'm sorry to hear about your dad and hope he is recuperating well. I'm sure if your mom felt she needed you there, she would let you know. Enjoy your sister's visit to Co.

Es - I'm glad you enjoyed Marc's concert, but I think you and Alana would have to duke it out on who his #1 fan is, How was your visit with your sister? Hope it went okay.

Janie - Sorry to hear about your and Ellen's asthma. I know what that is - my oldest son, Steven, had asthma since he was a baby and we were in and out of the emergency room with him and he was hospitalized so often. He actually had to live in a hospital for a whole year when he was 7. I can certainly sympathize with you. Do you use an inhaler also? Maybe you could show her how you use it and how it makes you feel so much better. I know its a really hard thing to get used to seeing your child suffer with asthma. When Steven was about 5 years old and was having an attack, I said to him "I wish I could take this from you" and he said "why, mommy, you want it"? I think he was ready to give it up to me. I hope you both feel better soon.

Hey Zoe girl - glad you had a good time with Jenna (love that name - that was one of the names being considered for Jessa). See how much you worried and your weigh in wasn't as bad as you thought. I've pretty much sucked at the program for the last couple of weeks myself. I haven't been to ww since my mom passed away. I don't think it has anything to do with that, but just haven't been able to pick my butt up to go. Will try to go this saturday and face the music. Have a great trip!

Hi to Ruth, Myra and Sandy - hope you're all doing okay.

Better get my butt in gear to be ready to pick up my darling daughter. Can't wait to see her.

You all have a great day!

Thanks Jen, Jen, JanieD. and Dianne.
My dad is doing much better. He is in a lot of pain. They are weaning him off of the demerol. It was making him talk out of his head. Drove my mom nuts. Every 2 minutes he would try to get out of bed to go home. He insisted his gown had buttons (it did not) and he wanted my mom to unbutton them so he could get dressed and leave. He kept that up for 2 days. She was exhausted. I asked her, "What are you going to do if he keeps that up once he gets home?" She said "I'll cross that bridge when I come to it ...and then I will throw him over." She needs a sense of humor right now. I feel so sorry for her too.
They are weaning him off now and is talking much better. My dad is usually so soft spoken. Poor thing.

Es,
I am so glad you enjoyed the concert. He is cute. He is all over the TV. Britts is happy.

Jen,
I am like you. I could veg, forever. I'd be on raft at the pool or by the pool with a book.
that is heaven for me. I am so glad you and Joe are enjoying everything.

JanieD,
Congrats on the .5 I know what you mean about being glad about a small gain. Glad you are feeling better.
My heart goes out to you about Ellen and asthma. Bruce had it when he was little but outgrew it. His nephews have it now and I know how scared his sister gets. Good luck!!!!

Zoe,
Good luck with your trip. 2 pounds was great. I'll bet it was a relief.

Dianne,
Have a great time with Alana. Loved hearing about the grandchildren. It is hard to keep them unbored.
Does Steven still have trouble with asthma? Bless your heart.
I'll bet that was so rough.

I have been doing weights and still doing raquetball. I go over points on weekends. We are trying to hit all the restaurants that we never heard of.
I do well during the week though. I lost 1.5 last week. Not expecting that this week though.
Talk to you soon. Have a great weekend.

Dianne,
I'm glad you're enjoying your vacation. It sounds like your trip with the grandkids was fun....boy, they do need to be amused constantly don't they? ! I hope Alana's home by now, in her clean room  I know how you've missed her.

Terri,
It's good to hear that your Dad is improving; your Mom sounds as though she can handle him, a sense of humor is important. Way to go on the exercise! When will you be heading home? I'll bet this is one summer the kids will hate to see come to an end.....I cannot believe that the stores are geared up for school already. Way too early every year!

Janie,
How are you and Ellen doing? That's got to be so difficult for her, poor thing. Joe recently bought a palm pilot to replace his dayplanner. I don't believe he'll ever give up the paper version, but finds the pda helpful for quick reference. I've seen people mention them on these threads; using one to journal would be great, I think.

Zoe,
Hope your trip is going well. The gain you had wasn't too bad. The price we pay for fun  You know you'll get back on track.

I've got a shower to go to this afternoon, which I don't want to do! It's Joe's last day of vacation, and I'd much rather stay at home today. However, it's a family affair, for a cousin's fiancee...and there's no getting out of it.

Tomorrow is a fresh start Monday for me...time to face the music (scale) and get serious about being OP again.

Hello guys:

Jen - Yes, Alana is home in her clean room, well it was clean when she got here, Its great to have her home, she's so tan and beautiful, especially with those hazel eyes (she's got her mom's eyes:smug: ). This morning she and I went to have our nails done together, I missed that. She gets a pedicure too, I've never had one, for some reason, it makes me uncomfortable to have someone working on my feet:s: Maybe I'll try it one day.
I'm with you on a fresh Monday tomorrow - vacation is over, back to work and back on program. I never let the program get in my way of vacation:D You all know my favorite saying "sometimes life gets in the way, and vacation is one of those times. So, here's to Fresh Starts!!!!

Terri - Hope your dad is doing okay. I love your mom's sense of humor :joker: - that will help her tremendously. Take care.

Hey Es - How are ya mi amiga? I too have trouble with journaling - I HATE IT,, thats the trouble,

Zoe Girl - Hope your trip went well, when are you back, tomorrow?

Janie - How are you doing? and how is Ellen feeling?

Hey Ruth and Sandy, where are you guys?

Well, getting ready to watch a movie with willie, we just came from a great spanish restaurant, stuffed myself like a :ink: ! Tonight I will have some twinkies, etc. but tomorrow its back OP! We stopped at Waldbaums and I stocked up on Healthy Choice cold cuts, skinny cows, melba toast and caramel rice cakes, yummy! I' ll be ready for work tomorrow, packing my lunch!

Have a great Monday everyone. Talk to yous soon.

Thanks Jen, Es and Dianne.
Y'all are so sweet. My dad was more himself today. He still thinks Kennedy is President but he was much sweeter today.
I know you will miss Joe when he goes back to work. I always do when Bruce goes back after time off. Hope you enjoyed the shower.

Dianne,
Glad Alana is back safe and sound. Have fun with her before school starts. Good luck on your fresh start.

We discovered Papa Murphy's Pizza. OMG!!!!!!!
I had 2 big pieces of the Chicago Style stuffed pizza. It was so good. I am literally sick!!!! So I know about fresh starts. I am doing a fresh start tomorrow as well.
We went to the North Pole today. North Pole, Co. that is.
It is a Christmas themed carnival. It is so cute. In 1940
they asked a little girl what she felt Santa and workshops etc... looked like and a Disney artist made out the plans. The kids got their pic. with Santa. I can skip the mall this year.
The shops were adorable. They looked like they were out of a picture book.

Hey girls,

Sorry I haven't been around in a few. Taking classes in the summer can really be rough. We have our summer classes divided into terms. Term 1 is the month of June, term 2 last through June and July and then term 3 is July. I made it through my English during term 1 with an A, I'm holding my own in algebra with a B during term 2, but I had to drop my speech class for the 3rd term. One month is not long enough to write 4 speeches and take 3 test in the subject and make at least a B, and also maintain my B in algebra.

Anyway, just wanted to stop by to let you know that I'm still thinking of you girls. I'm going to catch up on the post after I finish this.

I hope everyone is okay. My husband finally went back to work, he is no longer a grease monkey. He is a new and use car salesman at the Mitsubitshi dealership. Boy have things changed in the car business. Of course, I haven't had a new car since 1982!!!

Our youngest daughter just turned 21 yesterday, so our three girls are all "legal" now!! lol We are expecting another grandchild in February, that will be number 5 for me.

Well, I need to run, I'll check in soon.

Wow, Ruth, great job on those grades! Glad your husband's back at work. Another grandchild...how cool. Keep in touch!

Terri,
North Pole sounds so cute, I'll bet it was fun. When my gram was mentally confused (in sporadic incidents) my Dad said he believed it was nature's way of insulating/protecting senior citizens...in their own little world they have only memories of happier times. I do believe he was right. I hope your Dad continues to improve.

While I wasn't looking forward to attending, the shower was nice yesterday; it was an English tea-theme, everyone wore dresses, and some hats. It reminded me of when I was a child, and women dressed up for gatherings. No slacks or shorts. It was a personal shower, a surprise for the bride, who showed up in jeans! She should have been told to dress for brunch or something, as she did feel uncomfortable being underdressed. A nice visit with relatives, and my favorite Aunt Ginny....then home to the pool! My SIL and I couldn't get out of there too soon

Dianne,
Great job on the grocery planning. I've got to get out to the store today to buy some turkey breast and veggies.
I've never had a manicure or pedicure in a salon....my niece used to do nails before she married and "retired"...so I'm lucky enough to have her come to my home when I need it. I usually have a pedicure twice a year, it's very luxurious! I don't bother with "doing" my fingernails...too much gardening and hassle to keep up with it.

Joe went back to work today :( I think I was more bummed than him. He's in the process of putting up a new garden shed, tore down the old one this week. The yard looks like a war zone, I can't wait till it's finished, hopefully in a week or two.

Hi Gals,
I haven't posted in a while because I have been really bad , when it comes to staying OP that is. Yesterday my neice flew in from back east to stay with us for a week. Naturally we had to go to SF to Fishermans warf and have chowder w/ sour dough bread and then to Ghiradelli Square for desert. We did do a fair amount of walking though. I am sure the scale will not be as kind to me this week. I am noticing that the pants that had been loose for a while aren't as loose anymore

BTW I have another interview on the 24th. This is for that other job I told you I applied for that the guy in Physics didn't think I'd even get an interview. I still think they already have someone in mind for the position but it's good practice.

Terri,
Congrats on the loss. I am glad your dad is doing better.

Ruth,
Great job on your grades!! You are awesome!

Es,
Lets make a pact to journal every day this week!

HI to Dianne, Jen, Zoe/Patti, Sandy, Myra (where ever you are) and anyone else I might have forgotten.

I am so sorry Joe had to go to work. You two will really enjoy it when you are both fully retired. I love to hear people like you who really enjoy their spouse. The shower sounded so cute. They definitely should have told her to dress.
I agree about older people and them going back in time. It probably is a much happier place.

JanieD,
You have to take company to the best places when they come in. That clam chowder sounds wonderful. Bruce used to bring sour dough bread back from SF when he went there for work. EXCELLENT!!!! We went to a place called Joe's Crab Shack and it is the best clam chowder I have had so far. Dixie Crossroads (Titusville, Fl.) had the best shrimp bisque ever. I am getting hungry for chowder now.
Good luck and don't worry you will get back oon track.

Hi everybody. My sister and BIL are due in Thurs. I hope they can still come. There will be more eating out though but I will try to watch. :dizzy:

Oh my we discovered Papa Murphys take home and bake place. It is sinful. I had to stop myself.

Hi

This morning while I was sipping coffee I sat by my computer to post & had a chance to address everyone & GUESS WHAT?! Poof, it disappeared. I was so angry I just signed out!!

Terri, North Pole is a place that I would have enjoyed. Anything that has to do with Christmas I love. Sounds like you're having lots of fun. I would have to stay away from Papa Murphy's. It would be too tempting for me. Happy to hear your Dad is doing better.

Janie, even when you're not doing so well with staying OP shouldn't stop you from coming here. We miss you.:( Many many times I'm off program & by coming here & reading where one of us had a loss or one of us was having a bad day or week helped me get back on track. Now if I can get back to journaling I'll be alright. I'm going to pick up a small notebook tomorrow & start writing everything down, even water! Let's Do It! ;)

Awwww Jen, I'm so glad you saw your Aunt Ginny. I'm not too crazy about showers, tupperware parties, Mary Kay, etc. Call me a party pooper.:( I'll be missing Pete when he goes back to work. He's been off a whole month. He was so sick. I thank God everyday when I see how well he's doing.

Ruth, when I read your post it reminded me of the Mitsubitshi commercial where the girl is in the passengers side dancing to some really cool music. Now I hear the song all the time. It makes me wanna dance. :jig: Happy to hear hubby is back to work.

Mi Amiga Dianne, wazzz up Girl! So sweet that you & Alana hung out together getting manicures & pedicures. I get them all the time. Well, pedicures only in the summer. You should try it. Your feet feel so smooth. At first I thought I couldn't get it done cause I'm sooo ticklish, especially on my feet. WTG with stacking up on healthy food. ;) I'm thinking on rejoining. for the millionth time. I had bought a special a while back so I still have 8 coupons left. Might as well use them right?

Hope I didn't forget anyone. Here's to our Fresh Start! :D

Good evening girls,
I wanted to thank all of you for asking about Ellen. SHe had soccer practice Saturday morning, and I knew she wouldn't make it through the practice without the med. I sat down with her on her bed and we did inhaler lessons. After about 100 practices and my spraying it on her arm a couple of times so she could see that it doesn't hurt, we finally got some medication in her. She started feeling and breathing better within about 5 min. NOw she comes to me when she needs it. She still wants to do a couple of practices each time but at least she isn't afraid of it anymore. Thank GOD!

Es,
I counted my points today. I was at the very top of my range but I did it and stayed OP!

Terri,
I hope you have great fun with your relatives visiting. As I said, my niece (14) is here from NY, and Ellen is loving having a big sister. They are in horseback riding camp for the week. Thank goodness the weather has cooled off from last week. I was so worried what I was going to do when the temp here in Livermore was 108 last week. Thankfully today was in the 70s and the rest of the week is supposed to be in the 80s.

I've got to get going,
Hugs,

ESSIE, I've missed ya'll so much. Thanks, but that commercial is not my favorite. I like the music, just the dancing is a little too much. Guess I'm getting old!! Oh, by the way, can you help me with my Spanish next semester!!

JEN, the shower sounds really nice. It reminds me of the commercial with the little girl that is having a tea party and she is wearing a big hat. Wow, I can't remember what the commercial is for. Guess I'm brain dead! How was your first day without Joe. Maurice was off work since March. I really enjoyed the time together while he was off, but I'm glad he is out of the house some now. Maybe I'll do more studying!! Have you registered for fall classes?

TERRI, hope your dad is still getting better. When my father had his open heart surgery, he thought the doctors were trying to kill him, he wanted me to call the FBI. I think they were giving him morphine and something else. He was really out of it.

JANIE, we must be in the same boat. the one labeled NON-OPT!! But I agree with ES, if you keep coming here, sometimes it helps get me motivated. Hey, even if it was only for one day, that's better than no days opt!

DIANE, hey have you been in the chat room much. I haven't in a while. Sounds like you and Alana are having fun together, that is great.

Well, I better go to bed, morning will be here too quickly.

Goodmorning Ladies,

Just want to wish my friends a great day. Ruth, the music in the commercial is what I like, the girl seems a little weird.

Es,
Britts loves that commercial. The girl looks a little weird but I love the music. I like the first song ever that was on those commercials. It is on the Zoolander CD.
I am so glad Pete is doing better. what a relief for you guys? How is our Derek look alike?
Whenever my post gets a little long I copy it in case I have to start over. mine have disappeared before. FRUSTRATING!!!!

Ruth,
I am so glad to hear about your hubby. I am glad he got back to work. It is nice to have time by yourself.
Your poor dad. That must have been awful for y'all. My mom and sister and I always discuss my dad's antics and we have to laugh.
Poor thing. He will laugh later when he is off the stuff. Maybe.

JanieD,
That is great about Ellen. Things should be easier now. Poor thing.
That is an amazing difference in temps. Glad it is better so they can have some fun. When we lived in Fl. one year we went to Ohio for a few weeks and it was 85 in Fl. and 106 in Ohio. Weird.
I couldn't wait to get back and get some relief.
It is cool in the evenings and warm and dry in the afternoon here in Co. I have found my perfect weather. I don't think I have broken sweat once while sight seeing.

Today I took the kids to Ghost Town. It was cool. Then we went to a buffet. I did pretty well but I can only eat about 5 pts. the rest of the day. :(
I got Bruce some John Wayne (His idol) toilet paper.
IT IS ROUGH - TOUGH! AND IT DOESN'T TAKE CRAP OFF ANYONE!

Anyone watching Big Brother? I got hooked again!!!!!!!!!

Hello Everybody:wave:

Just got home from the hospital. My niece was born at 1:30 this morning. She weighs 8 lbs. 7 oz., has blonde hair & we think her eyes are blue. She is sooooooooooooooo cute!!! My SIL asked me if I wanted to hold her. What a question:rolleyes: I picked her up & didn't want to put her down. She stared at her Titi Essie for around 5 minutes. Can't wait till they come home on Thursday. I guess you all know where I'll be spending the rest of my vacation. :D

Terri, so funny about the John Wayne toilet paper. Dave is fine. He has to get all of his wisdom teeth pulled out. He's not too happy but he has to get it done. Other than that he's fine. Thanks for asking ;)

Till tomorrow:wave:

Janie, that was such a good idea about practicing the inhaler with Ellen. Once kids see there's nothing to fear, it's a big confidence builder..you did the right thing.

Es, Congrats on your new niece!!! Boy, I can tell she's going to be spoiled already...
So nice of you to remember my Aunt Ginny; she's slowing down a bit , is on oxygen (the portable tank type) but it's so cool to see her at family gatherings. We've got our family picnic a week from Saturday, so I'll see her again :D she's my Mom's only sister, the last left from her side of the family.

Goodmorning:)

I had such a rough night last night. I tossed & turned. I was so nauseaus & it was hot & sticky. I didn't feel like getting up to close all the windows to turn on the AC. Don't know what happened. We had ordered chinese take out but Pete was fine. :?:

Dianne, our little bundle of joy was named Karinna Faith Rodriguez. My brother said he didn't know my SIL was going to give her a middle name. Those two are never in agreement. I can't wait to hold her again.

Jen, my mother had 5 sisters & 4 brothers. I have one aunt & uncle left. My aunt looks just like my Mom. It's scary sometimes. We're not close at all. It's nice that you're close to Aunt Ginny. You sound like the best niece anyone could have. :)

Terri, how is the movie Zoolander? Did you see it? I was going to rent it but the guy who works at Blockbuster said it's stupid. Did you ever see Keeping the Faith? I love that movie. Britt would like it.

Well, gotta run to bathroom. I hope this doesn't ruin my day. We're planning to go to the beach. It's going to reach 90 today. (yuck)

See you's later alligators:D

Hi Everyone,
I WI this morning and unbelievably lost .5 lb :spin: I journaled yesterday and was within my range. I also walked 3 miles. I am doing well this week, but I usually do well Mon-Wed then life seems to get in the way right around Thurs evening (Girl's night out).

Ellen and my niece, Danielle, seem to be getting along very well. I wasn't sure because they are 6 yrs apart, but Ellen is pretty mature for 8. She is totally loving having a "big sister." Speaking of nieces, congratulations, Es, on your new little one. She sounds like a doll.

I won't be able to address each of you individually today because I have to go to a talk. Jack Gibbons (Pres. Clinton's Science Advisor) is visiting the lab today and giving a speech. I have to get over there to make sure that I can get a seat.

Have a great Wed,
Janie

Hi Girls,

4 more days before I have to go back to work. :( Have to enjoy each day. We went to the beach yesterday. Boy, I didn't want to get up from my beach chair. Beautiful bodies everywhere!! The majority were young women like in their early twenties. What is it with the pierced belly buttons? They all had them. Pete sunbathed so he didn't notice anything. I'm glad cause you couldn't help but to notice. It was so crowded. We got home around 4:30. Today Pete's going to a Yankee game with my nephew. I'll be all alone today. I'll probably stay home. My SIL comes home with the baby today. She doesn't like company the first day so I'll wait till tomorrow.

Janie, .5 loss WTG. I know what you mean about the end of the week. Summer is much harder for me than the winter. We're out alot & even if I plan what I'm going to eat it never turns out that way. I'm not gaining but I'm not losing either. That's so nice having your niece spend time with Ellen. How's she doing with the inhaler? David has asthma. He's had it since he was very young. I was always in the ER with him. It's not as bad now, Thank God!

We've had appts. all week. Today it's for Susie. She's going for her annual exam. The minute we put her in the car & start driving in the direction of her Vet. she knows. She start shaking. Chihuahuas shake for any little thing anyway.

Have a great day everybody:wave:

Janie,
You got right back OP, that's good. Way to go on the walking. Glad Ellen's having fun with her cousin. 6 years difference is just enough to make both of them feel special...I'll bet your niece loves having a "little sister" in return!

Es,
Enjoy the rest of the week! Two weeks is definitely the best way to go. The pierced belly buttons....no thanks! We haven't been to the beach in years, which is fine with me  When we were kids my Mom used to pack us all into the station wagon and we'd spend the whole day there, a few times a week. I thinkI got my love of water from her. Hope you get to visit with Karinna soon. Such a pretty name.

We're in another heat wave, in the 90's and humid. I'm loving it! My niece came over yesterday with her two youngest, who are 5 and 3. We had a great time swimming and talking.

Brandon is going to spend next week here, for a little one-on-one time with gram and gramps :D :D

JEN, it's very hot today. I went out this morning & as soon as I got home I turned on the AC. Pete went to the Yankee game with my nephew. He called before to tell me that they have the best seats. They are around 30 ft. from homeplate. He's in heaven. My nephew always gets great seats.
Jen, I remember when we were kids my parents useto love to go fishing & the beach & yes, it was an all day outing! Now I could only take a few hours.
I'm sure Brandon can't wait to hang out with his grandparents. So cute.

I spoke to my SIL before. Karinna lost 2 oz. I'll go see her tomorrow. It's going to be hard for my SIL because the twins what all her attention. They're only 4 yrs old. There were 5 of us & I don't ever remember my parents showing favoritism(sp?) My Mom had my brother Tony at 40 & I always felt he was spoiled. Till today we all say he was the spoiled one in the family but we didn't feel unloved because of it.

Did anyone watch Oprah? It was about weight & fitness. Great show. I taped it this way anytime I feel lazy I'll put it on & I know it'll make me get up off my butt. Exercise is the key guys. ;)

We're going to eat at a chinese buffet tomorrow & tomorrow is when I'm planning on rejoining WW. I have to figure out the points cause we eat at this buffet once a week & I don't want to feel just because I'm rejoining I won't be able to go there anymore.

Well Buds, till tomorrow.

Be good, drink water & keep that journal handy. Yeah right, I should practice what I preach (journal)

TGIF,

Morning everyone, hope everyone is ready for the weekend. I only have 1 1/2 weeks left of school, so I will be doing some major studying while Maurice is at work tomorrow. I can't wait until our 3 week break between classes starts.

ESSIE, congrats on the new niece. I love the name Karrinna.

TERRI, I'm hooked on Big Brother also. I also like The Amazing Race, Survivor, and The Mole. Guess, you can see, I don't have a whole lot to do with my spare time!! LOL Actually, that is about the only TV I watch. I "allow" my husband to control the remote control, we seem to have such different taste on television shows that I find other things (like studying) to do instead.

JEN, sounds like your family is very close. I think it is so great when families have strong ties. I'm an only child, my mother has only one full sister. My aunt is only fourteen years older than I am so we are fairly close. When I was upset with my mother she was always there for me. My mom and my aunt aren't close to their half siblings so I'm not that close to them either. My dad had a large family, he was one of nine children, but I'm only close to one uncle.

JANIE, .5 loss is great. Congrats. I haven't been walking and I know I should. I just have such a hard time staying motivated. Maybe I should look in the mirror more!! LOL

Well, I better run, I've got a test today.

Check in with you girls later.

Es,
I journaled yesterday but I was terrible:devil:. I went almost 10 pts over my range. I did exercise though. 2 miles at lunch time and kickboxing class in the evening. I took my niece to the kick boxing class. I can't tell if she liked it or not. I can't really tell if she has enjoyed her week here or not. I know for sure she hasn;t liked my cooking much. I guess she isn't used to healthy WW food

Ruth,
Maybe you should be walking instead of watching all of those "reality" shows;). BTW why do they call them reality shows. My reality isn't anything like those.

Jen,
I agree with you about the pierced Belly buttons. That seems to be all the rage now,and tatooing also. I am so conservative I only have 1 hole in each ear. Actually these young people are going to wake up sooner or later, when they are trying to get a serious job and wonder "What was I thinking?" My theory about this is: These are kids of baby boomers. We baby boomers tried just about everything (or so we thought). This body piercing and stuff is the olny thing the kids could come up with that would gross out their parents. I am totally cool about if they want to do weird stuff with their hair. That will always grow out, but this permanent maming of thier bodies:?:

HI to Dianne, Terri, Sandy, ZOe, etc.,
JanieD

Jenny523
07-19-2002, 03:56 PM
Janie,
you are so right about the kids of boomers....I never looked at it in that manner. Both my son and daughter snuck and got tattoos last year.....and I do mean "snuck" (past tense of sneaked?)...when they were 18 I told them to wait till they were 21...when they were 21 I told them to wait till they were 25; that worked for Jess, she was 27 when she got her gecko on her ankle (and it's ugly); Joey was 22 when he got a skeleton on his upper arm (the medical type, not biker type, but I hate it). I cried and didn't speak to either of them for a week. Doesn't matter how old they are...I told them I gave birth to them and they were ruining their bodies. Can you imagine how they will regret it when they're older? Joey is talking about getting another one...I truly don't knowif he does it to get a rise out of me or if he really wants another.
My Mom was upset with me when my best friend pierced my ears with a needle and thread when I was 15.....what goes around comes around.

Hi Jen, Dianne, Terri, Janie, Ruth, Pogo & Sandy,

Weekend is here & I love it. Even though is still hot & sticky I don't care. It's been so hot I haven't exercised but I plan to get back to it real soon.

We went out to the chinese buffet & we had a good time. My brother met us there, David, my sister & her husband.

I was talking to Pete about helping me out with weight training again. Before I had shoulder surgery in 1999 we use to lift weights together all the time. I want to get back into it. It reshapes my body & even though the scale stayed the same I was happy with the way my clothes were fitting. I want to be in great shape when I reach 50.

Has anybody heard of any changes with WW in 2003?

Jen, Janie I have 3 holes in my ears but that happened when I got married & left home. I was 18 yrs. old. My father was totally against it. I have a cousin that when she reached 50 she got a tatoo on her ankle. Thank God David doesn't like tatoos. He's not into body piercing or tatoos. Now my 21 yr. old niece pierced her eyebrow & now wants to pierce her belly button & has 2 tatoos!!! When she was 18 she snuck & got her tongue pierced. I thought my sister was going to strangle her. They didn't speak for a very long time. I guess she let it close up to please her Mom.

Ruth, maybe when the weather cools down you'll start walking again.

Well Girls, I was out all day & I have to jump in the shower. I'll be back later or tomorrow.

Have a nice evening everybody. :)

Love,
Es

Es,
That'd be great if you resumed lifting with Pete. How is he feeling? Exercise is so important; I recently heard on a news feature that only 5 to 8 % of the population consistently exercise! I had thought it would be much higher than that. Apparently they were tracking dedicated hard-core exercisers, while most of the population (US!) only does it in fits and spurts.

Happy Saturday :D

Jen, Pete's doing much better. He's almost back to his normal weight. He goes back to work tomorrow. He's still on the night shift. Thanks for asking. ;) I know alot of people that hate exercise. I don't love it like I useto. When I was in my thirties I useto look forward to going to the gym but now it's harder. I have to stick with it for health reasons. I ordered The Firm tapes. I like working out at home.

It is only 6:50 a.m. & the humidity feels like it's 100%! Pete has to go for blood work but wants to walk when he comes back. I might as well get it over with early before it gets hotter. These are my last 2 days off.:( Back to work Monday. The only thing good about that it's I'll have AC all day. I miss some of the girls.

It's pretty quiet around here. I guess everybody's busy. Have a nice day:)

Hugs,

PS We just looked outside & it looks like rain:D No walking! Kidding. I'll just do one of my tapes.

Es,
I'm very glad Pete is feeling better and is doing well. If he's anything like Joe, he's probably ready to go back to work  I know it'll suck for you to go back, just enjoy the weekend and don't think about Monday!

It is very quiet here this week. Hope everyone's enjoying their summer!

I have to do something about this weight. Since I've been off work (2 years next month), I've stayed at the same weight range but am not anywhere near as toned as I was; my job was very physical, and I realize now how lucky I was to be getting all that exercise without trying! I am f l a b b y :( When I'm in the pool, I've been doing laps....ha ha.....can only do 3 right now. It's a 20 ft. length, which for me is 9 strokes.

We're going out this evening for my SIL's birthday dinner...she chose her favorite Greek restaurant. I don't like eggplant, cooked spinach, or lamb, so it should be relatively for me to make wise choices. A big salad will be fine with me. It's the company that counts anyhow, and Joe and I are very close with my brother Tim and his wife.

They're forecasting 90's and very high humidity for tomorrow. We spent a couple of hours in the pool with Brandon today; that's where we'll be tomorrow for sure! Joey is here to take B to his apt. to spend the night while Joe and I go out. B is very excited to be going to Joey's.....a bachelor night for them!

Ok, enough babbling....have a great weekend everyone!

Hello my buds:

Well, I finally went back to ww today after 6 weeks, and it wasn't pretty:( I gained 4 lbs.! That certainly sets me back a bit since I was like 3 lbs away from ww's goal for me. Buttttttttttttt, on the other hand, I think it would have been even worse if I hadn't stocked up on my "supplies" last week and got back on track. Anyway, this was a wake-up call for me and I started totally fresh today, even journaled (lord, have mercy on my soul) I did very well with points and I walked for 1 hr. in the park, so that earned me 4 activity points too. I'm not to sure about activity points - can you bank them like regular points???? Anyway, the thing is I finally went back and faced the music, don't know why I was such a fraidy cat!

Jen - Hope you enjoyed your dinner with family tonight - did you have the salad. Sounds so cute, Brandon and Joey having a bachelor's night:smug:

Es - I'm so glad to hear that Pete is doing well. And Karinna's name is really beautiful.

Janie - I think you do enough exercise to counter the calories - seems like it to me, so its like you're doing damage control.

Hi Terri, Zoe Girl, Ruth and Sandy - hope you guys are all doing well.

Here's to "FRESH STARTS"!!!

Hi Buddies:wave:

Dianne, you're right about getting on track 1 week before weighin. If you keep walking you'll have those 4 lbs. off in no time. We went walking yesterday for 1 hr. I do it in intervals, walk/jog. I'm suppose to have my 1st weight training session with Pete today. We have all the equipment at home so that helps. I'm not too sure about the banking activity points either. :?: Karinna is going to church today so I'll get to see my little butterball. I love her name too.

Jen, I guess Pete is looking forward to go back to work. He hasn't said anything. I think he would rather be off cause he can go to the gym whenever he wants without being pressed for time. I'm kind of looking forward to go back tomorrow. I miss a few people, very few!
I weighed myself this morning(177):( That darn chinese food!

Gotta get ready for church. I'll be back later.

Hugs,

PS Pete's weighin was 174!! Still weighs less than me!

I had mentioned in my previous post that today was my first day back to work after being out 2 weeks. Well, we had no power!!! Phones, computers, copiers were all out and NO AC. Es,
You are too funny. You sound like a little kid who got a snow day from school. I actually got in late today becuse I had to take my niece to the airport this morning. She was here for 8 days and it really went by quickly. Yo estoy mui consada. The girls had a great time together and I know Ellen is really going to miss her.

Dianne,
Congratulations going back to WW. It is not how many times you try. Remember, you can only fail by failing to try!

Jen,
Hope you had a nice time for your SIL's bday. Great going on only having a salad!! I however could't have controlled myself as well as you because I love Greek food. I am sorry to hear that your kids decided to tatoo themselves. They can always be removed when they get older if they decide to, although I understand it is very painful. I just hope these fads have passed by the time Ellen is a little older.

Congrats JanieD on the .5 pounds. That is great. Hope you enjoyed the speech. I am glad Danielle and Ellen are getting along. That is sweet.

Es,
Zoolander was funny. It was a parody on male models. It is so stupid it is funny. It has the humor of a Sat. Night Live skit. Britts and I loved it. I will look for Keeping The Faith. Thanks.
My little Chihuahuas always shook once we crossed the Ohio River into W.Va. Man they could shake. I hope Susie passed with flying colors.
Good luck with ww. I eat at buffets all the time. I finally got into good habits there. We are going to an Asian Buffet Thursday. Lots of veggies.
I hope your first day wasn't to bad. I am so glad Pete is doing better. Great boy you got there. I hate piercings too. Britts doesn't even want her ears pierced. She is like me she doesn't really like jewelry.
Karinna is a BEAUTIFUL name. CONGRATS!!!!
Jen,
I hope you are enjoying your baby. I have been loving this pool. It has actually been to cool the past 2 days to go in.
I am glad you are enjoying your pool. The bachelor night sounds so cute. I hope you had a good time at your dinner.

Ruth,
I watch Survivor, Race and Big Brother. We all are into them and it is so much fun to discuss and strategize. It is a get away.
I have 1 question for you . How do you like JOSH?
I hate him. He is a sleaze. We want him gone. I hope Roddy or Eric don't get power of veto. It is fun.
Good luck with school.

Dianne,
Good luck. 4 pounds isn't bad. Here's to "fresh starts."
I think you can add the activity points (capped at 4) to your bank and use if you need to but it is best that you don't for better weight loss. That is my understanding anyway.

Well, Wed. is Bruce's and my 20th anniversary. I can't believe it.
We are going with the kids and my sister and BIL to Flying W Ranch for dinner. It is a wild west show and dinner. Brittany heard the cowboys were cute from a friend that went a coupled years ago. She is up for it. LOL We will go to a romantic dinner over the weekend. We went up to Pikes Peak again Sat. If we move here Bruce and I promised each other that we would hike it . It is 14,110 feet elevation. We saw hikers doing it while we were on our way up there.
I have been doing fine weight wise. There are so many hills to walk up. Tomorrow we are visiting the Olympic Training Center again. Britts wants to see Apollo Ono again.

Terri,
Happy Anniversary! to you and Bruce. I'll bet the years have flown by, right? May you have many many more together.
Hope Brittany enjoys the cute cowboys at dinner. ;) You all sound like you're having a wonderful time!

Es,
A one day reprieve from work! great way to start back. Have you begun your weight training?

Janie,
I hope Ellen is not missing her cousin too much. I didn't know you were bilingual! ;)

Dianne,
Way to go on returning to WW! You are so very close to goal, it's important for you to not lose your focus.

After a few days of extremely hot weather we're back to the 70's; today is beautiful. Brandon and I are going to pay my tuition and get my books. He's been wanting to see my "school"....will he be in for a shock when he sees how much we'll have to walk!

HI  to everyone,

Happy Anniversary Terri & Bruce!!!
Terri, I absolutely love Asian food. YUM! Enjoy it. ;) I hope you had a nice day. Hi Brittany:wave:

Jen, I started my weight training yesterday, by myself. Pete was knocked out yesterday when I got home from work so I figured I would let him sleep. In September he's going to try to go back to the day shift. I like when we work out together. It's fun when you have a partner. Have fun with Brandon. (so cute)

Today, Tuesday, I actually enjoyed being at work! First Tuesday ever!!! I was very busy & I like being busy. All week it's going to be that way so it'll go by fast. :D

A storm is coming our way so I'm signing out for now. Be back later or tomorrow.

Hugs,
Es

Hi gals,
I am sorry that I haven't posted lately, I had been preparing for another interview that I had this morning. I think I was only interviewed because I was the only female that applied. (The lab has a very bad record with regard to EO. In fact there is a discrimination class action suit against the lab from women employees, and another from Asian Americans. This way the lab has on record that they considered a female for the position.) From his body language, I don't think that he was seriously considering me at all. I did alright under those circumstances but it didn't feel good, if you know what I mean. I also think he would not be very pleasant to work for, so perhaps it is just as well. God will lead me to the right place!

Happy Anniversary Bruce & Terri!!!!! Hope you have a wonderful time.

I Have to get back to work.

Janie,
You gave it a shot. Going through with the interview, in spite of knowing the circumstances of the position, must have been a trial. Good for you! I hope that things work out the right way.

Yesterday I took Brandon to the Chicago Botanic Garden. They're having a "Big Bug" exhibit, made from wood. It was pretty cool, and B loved them.

TGIF

This week went by so fast I can't believe it's Friday already.
I have not journaled one single thing the past few days. What the heck is wrong with me? I have no motivation whatsoever. There are a few women I work with that are doing so well with WW.
Anyways, just wanted to say hi  and have a great day.

Later

Es,
Don't feel too bad about not journaling. I havent done it this week either. I was so stressed about that interview Wed. It was all I could think about. I didn't think about what I was eating, just as long as it was easy. IT's time for us to get back to it girlfriend.

Jen,
THe more I think about that interview, the more I realize I handled it totally professionally. He was the unprofessional jerk. I wouldn't want to work for him.

Terri,
How is our fittest gal in the fittest city in America? Sounds to me like you folks are considering moving there. How did your romantic dinner with Bruce go?

Have to get back to work now.
Happy Friday everyone!!!!

Es,
Don't feel alone in neglecting to journal! I've begun so many times, then become very discouraged when I don't even finish one complete day. I'm again reaching the point where I'm disgusted with myself, and am getting ready to go totally OP.

Tomorrow is our family picnic, and as usual, the temperature promises to be in the 90's and humid. We began it about 6 years ago as a way for all the cousins to get together, and it's now snowballed into attendance (last year) of about 60 people. Considering that it's fairly laid-back, everyone brings their own meal, with a dish to share, it comes together remarkably well. Whoever wants to "host" a game does so.....bringing whatever's needed and the prize. Our first picnic had only a water balloon toss, Jess brought those along w/prizes. Each year more people contribute and it's become a lot of fun.

Then in the evening we're having my kids, grandsons, and my (favorite) niece and her 4 daughters for a sleepover. My two older great-nieces, 14 and 12, will spend all day Sunday, we'll by the pool all day. :D

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Good Saturday morning my girls!

I'm soooooooooooo pumped! Remember, I told you I went back to ww after 6 weeks and had gained 4 lbs.???? Well, I got totally on-program this week. Great with the eating and I walked 4 days out of 7 for at least an hour. Well, it paid off- I was soooooo hoping for at least a 2 lbs loss and was thrilled to find that I lost 3.6 lbs.!!! That's almost all of the 4 lbs gained "gone". Its been a really long time since I've had such an on-program week, but this loss has me wanting to continue to stay on-track. I'm really motivated. Just wish I could stick that in a bottle and take a big gulp whenever needed, lol.

Jen - Bugs and boys - they sure do go together don't they? I'm glad you enjoyed Brandon. The family picnic sounds like so much fun - enjoy!

Es, mi amiga - You'll get your motivation back, I'm sure. Want some of mine - I'll gladly give it to you. That's what we're here for to help support and motivate each other. How's the weight training going?

Janie - that guy you interviewed with did sound like a jerk:s: Hang in there, something will come along that just fits you.

Terri - HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY TO YOU AND BRUCE!!! Sorry, I missed it - I don't think I've posted since last weekend - been really busy. I hope you guys enjoyed it. When are you coming back home? NEVER??? lol

Zoe Girl - How are you sweetie? Miss you, come say hi.

Hey to Ruth, Myra and Sandy, hope you're all doing good.

I'm going for my walk in the park now - the weather here is cool and perfect for walking. And.........I'm afraid if I don't go now, I won't go at all today.

Hope you all have a great day. See you's tomorrow.

Hugs,
Dianne

Hi Girls,

My Baby David, has been with me since yesterday. He got a real bad infection in his wisdom tooth. He has an appt. for next Friday to get all four of his wisom teeth pulled out but apparently this one has been giving him trouble for quite some time. His right side of his face is huge!!! He went to see an oral surgeon today & he told him it's going to take a week before the swelling goes down. :( He miserable. If he lays down it throbs. He's taking penicillin & tylenol with codeine but it's not helping the pain.

Dianne, way to go Girlfriend :D I knew you could do it. The walking helped. I wish you could send me some of your motivation. Congrats. Keep up the good work. I've been weight training by myself. I did it 2 days in a row. Today forget it. With Dave sick I can't really do anything. He's in the living room so it makes it hard for me but that's okay I'll catch up next week.

Jen, hope you had fun at your family picnic. We had a few family reunions but then slowly but surely people weren't showing up & we stopped them. It was fun while it lasted.

Well my buds, I can't stay online too long. Just wanted to stop by & say hello.

Love you all.
Till tomorrow,
Es
