Biggest Loser Challenges - Blue Bombshells - Week 6 ChatView Full Version : Blue Bombshells - Week 6 Chat dixied 06-29-2009, 01:02 PM Happy Monday! ;) Soon2BFitChick 06-29-2009, 01:52 PM Good morning Bombshells!!! :coffee: I'm half asleep, stayed up til 3 am shredding all of what needed it, and filed papers, etc. Best to do that when kids are not climbing on you. :yikes: I'm up 2.5 lbs this morning from yesterday morning. :sumo: So confused but I know it'll go away. Happens when I don't sleep right but not usually this much difference. TOM isn't due til July 6 or so.. I think. And I did have some salt yesterday but didn't go off plan. :( There is NO way I gained that when I was POP. LOL. Dh says not to weigh all the time. Uggh, why do I weigh every day??? Not good. :nono: Ah well, life goes on. We are organizing the house this week bc we may be adopting two more sweeties!! :bb: They are boys, almost 2 and almost 3. Not sure if I told you guys yet. I can't wait to meet them!!! Hope they come soon but we have no idea when they will. It will be even harder then to find time to post or do much else! LOL. So weird, our kids might end up being 7,4,3,2,1 by this fall. I will be soooo super busy. But it will be worth it to finally have my whole family and then I want a Mother's ring!!! Been waiting forever for it!!!! I'm so proud of all my babies. And omg, I read someone moved, I'm sorry I'm a ditz, don't remember who it was and can't look since it's on the old thread, I am sooo glad I may never move again. We bought this house in 06. No time to post then either!!! LOL. I bet you are happy that's done! Now you just hafta unpack. I know it's tiring! Hope it goes smoothly for you all. Big hugs to you all, thanks for making all our new threads each week Dee. :) Selina  Gekster 06-29-2009, 03:43 PM My In laws have finally packed up and gone home. So nice to have a quiet space again. Well it looks like over the course of the month I have lost only 6 pounds. Much different than month prior, but that's normal I think. I did get to open a reward envelope yesterday which turned out to be sandals. We went and there was a sale so I got 2 pairs! Very nice, I am happy and cannot wait til I get to my next one. Hope everyone is having a great day. Idealmuse 06-29-2009, 04:18 PM Gek - 6 pounds is great for a month I think. Good average of 1.5 per week. I know it's hard to be patient when you look at the whole picture, but it all adds up quicker then you know it. dixied 06-29-2009, 04:33 PM Gek - 6 pounds a month is great! I got curious this morning and did the math: I've lost 56.5 lbs / 44 inches / 11% body fat and it's taken me: 924 days or… 2 years, 6 months, 1 week, and 2 days or... 131 weeks and 2 days or... 30 months, 1 week, and 2 days That works out to: .43 lbs/week or 1.88 lbs/month zinkemomx2 06-29-2009, 05:58 PM You are such a numbers geek Dix. I love it! suzie42 06-29-2009, 06:07 PM Hey all, I had such a crazy week, I was not surprized to see a goose egg of a loss this week. It's so discouraging....oh well. I wanted a little motivation, so when I saw a new issue of Shape mag at the store, I bought it, and it's kind of lifted my spirits. It's SO daggone HOT here in GA, that it was in the mid 80's and SO humid even in the dark last night when I went for a walk. It makes you feel SO BLAH. uhg. Congrats dixied on your amazing loss and making it SO far! That's my big problem, to stick with it without giving up and throwing in the towel. Which is so easy to do, and I've done it SO many times before :) Have a great evening everyone! ~Suzie :cheer3: :goodluck: everyone! :cheer3: http://www.3fatchicks.net/img/bar-day/cartoonapple01/lb/212/140/198/.png (http://www.3fatchicks.com/) maryshady 06-29-2009, 08:38 PM Sorry Team but I posted a gain this week. I promise to be back on track this week. I will count my calories, write down everything that goes into my mouth, and workout 6 times. I am going to see the trainer tomorrow so I will let u know how that goes. Congrats to all who lost this week. Keep up the hard work! retiredone 06-30-2009, 12:10 AM Hello team members. I almost missed out on posting my weight this week because I've been super busy with preparations for DS's wedding. I was in the kitchen and noticed it was after midnight and I knew I was still safe because of the difference in the time zones. I've been hard at work everyday from dawn til almost dawn again. Less than 2 weeks to go and then I can concentrate on myself again. Must run as the oven timer is going off. Don't want to burn that wedding food. Take care. dixied 06-30-2009, 11:38 AM So I've decided to continue my absolutely lovely, wonderful weekend o'accomplishments by being this weeks biggest loser for our team, and breaking my record speed for 1 mile. As of this morning my new personal best for 1 mile is 9:44. With a week like this I'm thinking about playing to lotto! :D Somni 06-30-2009, 01:53 PM Hi there! I hope everyone has been doing well. I'm still away from home with the wedding and honeymoon and my internet access has been a lot more iffy than I had planned on. (Well not that I planned on a LOT of internet access either but... hoped to at least be able to reliably catch up and check in here more often! :)) Trying to do as well as possible while we're away -- it's challenging with all the eating out, especially when we're on the road. We drove from IL to WA, quite a drive! The first leg of the trip, I really had no time to pack stuff up because my er husband (!) decided we'd leave early and asked me to do a few last minute things, but I was able to get things like fruit and a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with lots and lots of lettuce for a later span of the trip. I also got a scale for the trip and had weighed myself a few times against the one I'd been using to make sure I knew how much to adjust, but of course I forgot to pack it argh. Oh well I'll be back later this week! Hope everyone has a good week :) Soon2BFitChick 06-30-2009, 03:09 PM Hi everyone! Hope you have a great day. I have to do our billing so can't stay. Big hugs to you all! Selina  trekkiegirl 06-30-2009, 03:34 PM Hey everyone! Yikes, we're back to gettin' our butts kicked by those rockets, lol! The last few days have blessed me with a cough/cold and an early TOM.  I was able to post a loss since I weighed in on Saturday morn (whew) but who knows what this week will bring. :tired: LOL, I went to Atlantic City on Saturday (lost about $111) and indulged just a little but when I was a pound higher on Sunday, I was like, no way did I eat that much. But getting TOM the next day answered that. :p This has been some weird week with all the celebrity deaths--Ed McMahon, Farrah, Michael, Billy Mays, Fred Travalena. :o Stop already. joyra 06-30-2009, 06:27 PM Hi everyone! Well, I have been planning out my food for the first time ever and its going really well! I aim for 1200 plus fruit, so usually 1300 or so. Before I was averaging 1600 a day. I guess for a short girl like me, 1600 is maintenance, even with exercise because I didn't gain but I haven't LOST in like... 4 months! But I have a feeling this will work for me. :D I've also been exercising quite a bit so... come on body! Change! Hope everyone is doing well! Soon2BFitChick 06-30-2009, 10:10 PM Done with our billing, finallly!!!! :dancer: Still working on the kids rooms, trying to get everything ready for the new babies. :bb: We are on edge, waiting to hear what day they'll come. It's gonna be great!!!! I am sooo happy my dh is helping me finally get the house organized. Don't you feel better when things around you are in order. Chaos makes me feel cluttered and my eating is worse when things are in disarray. I've read that it is linked. :( Glad it's going away tho! Hmm, so red won? Man! We gotta step it up, Bluezers!!! :coach: Let's each shoot for an extra glass of water, maybe when we first wake up? Even a small glass, just more than we were having before. :drill: Also, 10 extra minutes of moving, in any way, even marching in place, while watching tv or watching dinner cook on the stove. LOL. I do that! I don't bother posting my exercise because I never know how many minutes I add up all day but just too hard to count when I'm taking care of my kids and baby. But I do what I can. And if it's in short spurts it doesn't aggravate my heel. :) Let's beat 'em this time!!!! :frypan: We needa kick their butts this week!!! :kickbutt: Bye for now Bombshells!!!! Selina  Nixmom 06-30-2009, 11:09 PM Hey girls! I am posting this to all 3 threads I’m on, so don’t think I’m trying to bore ya if you see it in more than one place! Life has been crazy. Made one weigh in (Friday- Go Rebels) and missed another (Monday - Sorry Bluesers). In the past 2 two weeks my world has been turned upside down. Major home issues due to my “hold it all in, build it tall, and let them have it when ya cant take it no more” frame of mind (thanks for that gene Mom). Things resolving themselves now though. Started 2 businesses (= $ stresses and commitment questions in my head). Traded my Jeep for a new truck for one of the businesses. Guess I’m committed now… or should be committed to some crazy house. Avoided 10% pay cut at work, but not everyone did. It was super unfair and has really impacted morale. Oh yeah, and TOM is due this week, along with my 38th birthday, and I haven’t exercised but once in the last 2 weeks. And I haven’t budged under 200 in an eternity. Ugh. I am going to sit down (like I do every year) and give myself my birthday gift of evaluating my 5 year goals. Hope you all are doing well. I am SERIOUSLY going to sit down with a pot of coffee Friday morning and catch up on my threads. Miss ya all and will be back here in exactly 3 days!!!! Be good. Selina.... BABIES? I gotta catch up on the thread! Jacque9999 07-01-2009, 06:16 AM Just checking in to say hi . Hope everyone is having a great week. Looking forward to the holiday weekend. Let's all do our best to stay OP and make it the best week ever!!! melwolfe 07-01-2009, 07:44 AM Hello everyone, no loss this week, been on plateau for a freakin month now! Oh well, eventually it will have to give, so.......... Good luck to everyone. zinkemomx2 07-01-2009, 10:29 AM Urgh. I'm pretty sure I was ovulating this last week sometime. My weight went up 4 pounds before I started eating uncontrollably. That typically signals ovulation around here. The munchies have went away and my weight is starting to drop back to where it was. I plan on going out running today. I'm hoping for at least a 5k, possibly a little more. Selina - I totally respect the fact that you foster and adopt. But girl you are CRAZY. :) scarahjs 07-01-2009, 03:40 PM Good afternoon bluesers. I haven't been around much with all the summer activity going on. Sorry :-( I've definitly been eating better and trying not to eat as much. I hope I see a loss this coming week. Have a great weekend! joyra 07-01-2009, 06:32 PM Hi everyone! Well, I lost my first new lb since March! I'm 152.1 today. I've been diligently planning all meals ahead and keeping my daily total in the 1300 range and it's working! I also am doing light-to-medium exercise 45-105 minutes a day. My birthday is next weekend (9 days) and I want to give myself the gift of being in the 140s by then. I haven't been in the 140s since about 2006? Maybe early 2007. In fact, my lowest weight in the last 6 or so years has been 148. 147 will be a big milestone for me. Hope everyone is well! Soon2BFitChick 07-01-2009, 09:20 PM Gotta hurry, still working in house, getting it ready for them. Miss chatting with you all!! Yes, we are getting more babies but these will be ours. Usually when I get babies, I get more babies the next yr and more the next, they never grow up so it stays hard work forever! Even tho I LOVE babies. :) Once all of my own five get outta being babies, then no more. I have been thru almost 30 small kids under age 7, except two older than that. Plus we are about to get our 10th year-long exchange student from Brazil this time again, we love Brazil!, and can't wait. He wants to help my dh coach my daughter in Soccer, he plays in Brazil. :) We just love people, not so much just kids. I feel myself getting old and can't handle 6 kids, all under age 7 anymore. LOL. I will handle my own 5 little ones for a few years then it's fine after that. Later, you can reason with them, you can play Monopoly with them, you can teach them about life, not just going to the potty and brushing their tiny teeth. I'm soooo looking forward to all of it!!! It's a very special job to be a mom. So many take it for granted and don't choose to be grateful for their babies. I am very grateful for mine. :bb:  I'll be 40 when my last baby starts Pre K. And about 53 or so when my last one graduates. Not too shabby. :cp: Ok, going thru more old baby stuff, gotta make room here for new things. My dh is a pack rat and I'm trying to tame the rat in him. :drill: We will be having 5 kid birthday parties a year and Christmas, which we love love love Christmas with our kids. We HAFTA make room!!!! Ok, enough babbling, hugs to you all. Melwolfe, hang in there, I HATE plateaus Nix, yep I'm getting babies again!!!! Zinke, yeah I know. I ask myself why I'm that crazy to say yes but I love them. :) Dee, I'm soooo jealous. You are doing so great!!!! I gotta have some success this year too! You are my inspiration for sure. Joyra, yay, you lost a lb!! I have been there, it will get easier if you keep watching your cals close like you are. I have to do that too. scarahjs, good to see you, I'm sure you r busy with your kids too! I know that feeling!!! :cb: Jacque, hiya~ I sure hope I'm OP this whole week, need more loss too! A big hello to everyone else here!!! Have a great day, rushing now, kids everywhere, sry! Selina bindersbee 07-02-2009, 12:38 AM I'm back from vacation. We crashed my cousin's baby shower- she lives 12 hours away! She's an only child and at 39 is expecting her first baby. Needless to say, she was pretty excited to have 7 of her female cousins show up unexpectedly! I also had the fun of doing a road trip with my Mom and 2 of my 4 sisters. We 3 oldest sisters are finally to the point with kids that we CAN leave them with the Dads and leave town as we're out of the toddler and baby years. Woo Hoo! I tried to eat decently on the trip but it was hard when most meals were prepared by our hosts and I couldn't really control what was available. I TRIED to make good choices but even so, I gained. At least a pound. I'm almost back to the point I started at even though before we left I'd lost 3 lbs. for the month. I am TRYING not to feel completely discouraged. It's so much work to even lose 1 lb. (especially since I have PCOS) but so very EASY to gain it back. However, I'm taking heart because a lot of us Bluesers are in the same boat right now with stalled weight loss BUT we're still here, still trying. I know that's the key even though it feels a little pointless at the moment. I have embraced the "First do no harm" part of the Hypocratic Oath (sp?). Even if I'm not really losing at the moment, I'm still maintaining and that's something worth doing. I'm going to get back into the gym in the morning and hit it hard. I'm in one of those places where it's easy to quit and lose my good habits. I'm not going to let that happen. One good workout and I'll be fully motivated again! joyra 07-02-2009, 06:27 PM Hi everyone.. Uh... I lost another lb! I'm just shocked at this. I have been the world's slowest loser and I have been losing 1 or more lbs a DAY since I started planning my meals ahead of time and revving up my workouts. I know it will slow down eventually but right now I wake up extra early each day because I'm excited to see what the scale will tell me. ... and everyday, the scale has been quite nice! Since August 20 '08, I've lost 22 lbs or a solid 10 kg! I don't really like tracking in kilos but that's the kind of scale I have over here in Asia. They do kilos in Australia too (my next home) so... I'll keep celebrating the kg milestones. I've got some rather unhealthy food and drink planned for this weekend... pizza & beer tonight and Chinese on Saturday. I already planned it all out to keep it at 1400 each day... but that means NO drinking Saturday night when I go out with my friends to the bar! I've abstained before, I hope I just can stick to my guns. It's Friday here in Asia... Yay! Happy almost 4th everyone who celebrates (Asians don't but my American friends and I might buy some sparklers anyways). retiredone 07-02-2009, 07:18 PM HI People. Selina, how exciting about the new babies! My baby is getting married in 10 days. I loved when my two were little. They grow so fast. I'm giving up trying to lose weight the next few weeks. Too much wedding stuff going on. I baked the wedding cake today. If I can maintain I'll be deliriously happy. Then after the wedding down to serious business. practiceliving 07-03-2009, 01:35 AM Hi team! I am back, and back OP! We are finally done moving, internet got hooked up tonight, and I just handed in my last assignment for the semester... now we just have to finish unpacking and life will be back to "normal!" I'm back OP today for the first time in TWO weeks - yikes! I'm really enjoying all the yummy fruit that is coming into season. I had the most delicious peach this afternoon! Our new apartment is only 3 blocks from the gym, and I'm excited to have it more accessible. Time to get that scale going back DOWN! Go blue! :cheer3: maryshady 07-03-2009, 11:23 AM Doing good have been working out everyday and watching my cals. Saw 175 on the scale today so hopefully i can be 174 by Monday. That personal trainer never showed up on Tuesday. We went to her studio and she wasn't there and she has never called me back nor emailed me. Very unprofessional. I don't think I will go to her if I ever hear from her now. Been doing Turbo Jam and according to my sensewear I am burning about 550 cals in 45 mins. Hello everyone, no loss this week, been on plateau for a freakin month now! Just believe in the journey and work it and the plateau will break! Hi everyone! Well, I lost my first new lb since March! I'm 152.1 today. :bravo: I have embraced the "First do no harm" part of the Hypocratic Oath (sp?). I frequent another website by Bill Phillips "body for life" creator. He just posted a blog about the power of letting go and letting the process work. Here is the link: http://www.transformation.com/billsblog/Notes-from-the-Path/The-Power-of-Letting-Go/46336 I found it very helpful. Hi everyone.. Uh... I lost another lb! Since August 20 '08, I've lost 22 lbs or a solid 10 kg! . :congrat: You are doing great! I'm giving up trying to lose weight the next few weeks. Too much wedding stuff going on. I baked the wedding cake today. If I can maintain I'll be deliriously happy. Then after the wedding down to serious business. It is really hard to stay on plan when there is so much going on. You have done great so far. Just watch what you are eating and get on plan once the wedding is over.:D Hi team! I am back, and back OP! We are finally done moving, internet got hooked up tonight, and I just handed in my last assignment for the semester... now we just have to finish unpacking and life will be back to "normal!" :carrot::carrot::carrot: So happy you are finally moved in and now you can concentrate on getting back on plan! Selena-Congrats on the babies!!! I do miss mine being small but there is so much joy in watching them grow and become their own person. You will enjoy each step immensely. I love being friends with my kids now as well as being mom. Gekster 07-03-2009, 12:41 PM It looks like I will be posting a gain this week, I am sorry. I have started a new Strength program that is making me hold more water. I usually post between thursday and saturday because I never seem to have time after that and today was the day. If I do have time and am done I will edit though. Sorry ladies.. Soon2BFitChick 07-03-2009, 10:38 PM Hi y'all!!! It's been a good day for me and my family. We hung out together all day, me, dh and the kids. Bad news is I've been a little off plan but not horrendous amounts. I have a few days before TOM and I always crave salt. Makes sense, we need more fluids right before but I don't care and don't want to hold fluid. :tantrum: Thank you all for your well wishes about our new babies. We can't wait and we still know very little. Very hard to sit and wait for them to call us. So frustrating!!!! But I'm praying for patience. Once I lose this after TOM I can try really hard again to lose. Until then, I'm just trying to drink more water. My daughter's soccer coach for the training camp this week is going to stay here with us. He or she is from Britain. Should be interesting! We've never had anyone from there. It's only a week and they aren't teens but pretty young so probably won't mind the kids all wanting to play.. LOL. Well, I better run. Still going thru things of my son's for the little boys to wear. I saved all his stuff for our next baby boy. I'm glad I did so the boys will have clothes to start off with. My other kids already are deciding what toy to give each of their new brothers. Awww. I have sweet kids. Hugssss, Selina  melwolfe 07-03-2009, 10:48 PM So, I finally showed a loss this morning of about a pound but even better I went shopping because both me and the hubby desperately needed some summer clothes and I fit into a size 12!!!!!!! I haven't been in a 12 in so long I don't even remember! I will be truly happy if the plateau is really broken and the loss stays! WOOHOO!! I'm so excited!!!!!! SweetScrumptious 07-04-2009, 03:23 PM I pumped out my workouts these last couple days since I seem to be stuck. Hopefully doing more/different things well jump start me! I'm also thinking about counting calories again so I can be more strict with my diet. Institches21 07-05-2009, 02:50 PM Hi- I will post personals later, hope all is well with The Blue Bombshells Just popping in to tell you all the Great News, I'm finally on the right track, I've had some personal stuff to work through. Very long story short, DH and I were in a very ugly place for a while, he's been out of work for over 3years, it was starting to take a toll on both of us...well due to a lightbulb moment from two family members, I now see, that it wasn't just me that was hurting in all of this, my eyes were opened to how it was affecting him. Well....I now can happily say that food is not the first thing I go to when I'm depressed, and even better I can say I've posted a loss this week, better news, my marriage it not in the danger zone any longer, and the Best News of all is both of my sons are getting married in 2010, my head is still spinning on that, one son was already set to marry May'10, then my baby {okay, 27....but still my baby} told us on Friday that he will be married Feb'10. Wow.... Thanks for listening-take care Have to run-my treadmill is calling...enjoy your Sunday, hope to be back later Idealmuse 07-05-2009, 03:32 PM Hi Blues - Looks like this is going to be a slow week for me. Pre-TOM, one bad food day, and some salty choices. Hoping I'll show kinda loss by tomorrow, but as of this morning... nada. I'm pretty much still on track though so one week isn't a big deal. Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend (for those in the US) Jacque9999 07-05-2009, 09:13 PM Just stopping by to say hi and say what a great weekend it was. Hope everyone else had a good one too!!! Nixmom 07-05-2009, 10:05 PM Heya Bombshells! I'm finally wandering back to take a moment and catch up. Been horribly ignorant of food choices in last 2 weeks and this weekend. Lots of birthday cake... and by lots I mean tons! TOM here too so when you add them up... well... BF has been outta work 6months, is a union worker, and we cant wait for it to come around anymore, so we started 2 companies. Has completely taken over my life. I need to be disciplined and take a moment every day for me so hopefully I'll be back here more often. Going to post my weigh in now. I missed last weeks, so not sure if I'm up or down cuz I haven't looked at previous, but with any luck at all, its minimal, either way. Will catch up on personals tomorrow. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Lets kick some butt this upcoming week! me4life 07-05-2009, 10:47 PM hey bluesers, i guess i haven't been on much either and the eating has been even less on. my pregnant 16 year old moved back in because her uncle tried to kill her and my sister....well he's been in a mental hospital since and they both moved back at the suggestion of the police....they were living over 5 hours away. so the week has been stressful to say the least. hopefully things get back to normal this week...or i can hope anyways. dixied 07-06-2009, 10:58 AM closing the thread, new on is open. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
