New from NY
Hi folks! My name is Jen. I am 27 from NY. I am struggled with my weight practically my entire life. Back in 2000 I weighed in at 220lbs. I wore a size 24 pant and 2x shirts and blouses. I couldn't walk up the stairs without being out of breath. In 2001, I started using diet pills as an "easy fix" to my weight problem. I did start working out and changing some of my eating habits, but my addiction to diet pills continued. I would take the maximum doses (and sometimes more than that) just to help me lose weight. I had awesome results. I lost a total of 20-30lbs in months with the help of exercise and the pills. It was these results that continued my addiction to them.
In 2007, I joined Weightwatchers as a way to lose weight the healthy way. My family was concerned about my heath on the diet pills and my mom (who is was a nurse) gave me an ultimatum...go on WW and get healthy, or go to an eating disorder clinic to get healthy. I chose weightwatchers.
Since then I have struggled to stay "clean" of the diet pills. Everyday it is a challenge to not go back to the old ways. I take it one day at a time. I remember that it didn't take me a few days to put this weight on so it is not going to take a few days to take it off. WW has taught me how to eat smarter and how to manage portions, however, I do still struggle.
That's a little about me. I come seeking friends who share the same experiences. Good luck all with your weight loss journey!
