Our weight loss challenges in the last little while have been wildly successfull with people managing to DESTROY TONS of nasty fat cells and kick their blubbery butts to the CURB BABY! Come and join us for this one!

The premise? Set a goal (whatever you wish), weigh in once a week (starting TODAY!) and post your total. THAT'S IT! Oh the other premise? WORK YOUR FREAKING BUTT OFF!!!!!

Our final weigh in will be Sunday, September 20!

That makes it about 2 lbs per week. I'm not positive I can lose that much each week but I'd sure love to be 199 by September 20! But just in case, I'll try for a 20 lb loss and be just as happy. Any loss works for me :)

Sounds great! I'm in....

I'm kind of going big for what I'd like to lose, but I'm a student so I have the summer off, I've got a Go Wear Fit in the mail to me so I will be totally in the know with my caloric intake/output, and I am really motivated to drop some of this extra weight before going back to school in the fall.

I'm hoping to shed 29 pounds during the challenge. I lost 10 pounds last much without a ton of effort, so I'm thinking with effort, I should at least have that success rate, especially since I am so far away from my goal.

Updated on 8/9/09 - Sad to say that I have not lost any weight over these last few weeks since the end of June. I have been working on just maintaining, which I guess is it's own accomplishment. I have not gained but have not lost. Sometimes I have to take a break and I just got to that point again. Sometimes losing weight is psychologically taxing for me. I have issues. But, I am back and ready to start again. Hopefully next week I will see a loss. I will probably not make my goal of onederland by the end of this challenge, but I would like to see how close I can get. Thanks to anyone who reads this. :)

I am sorry I've been MIA lately. I've been in a funk, the kids are all home and life has been a challenge. However, I think I am strong enough after the hernia surgery to start back to the gym (slowly) and really kick this back into gear!

I finally got a cord I've needed for my camcorder so I can copy my tapes to DVD. I watched some of the tapes yesterday. I don't think I was this heavy then and I was so mortified by what I saw! :( Ready or not Onderland, here I come!

6/29: 232.4, down 3.6 pounds. I'm sick, so it may be a little low, but I know some of that was definitely real weigh gone. Woohoo!

7/6: 234.6, up 2.2 pounds. Last week was a little low, but I might have gained half a pound from overeating this past week. Oh well!

7/13: 233.6, down a pound this week. Considering I was lazy on exercise that's not too bad!

7/20: 231.6, down 2 pounds. That regular exercising really helps :p

7/27: 230.0, down 1.6 pounds despite a fun food day on Friday. Biked four of the five weekdays.

8/3: 228.4, down 1.6 pounds from last week. Doing well on both food and exercise :)

8/10: 228.4, no change. I think I've been eating a few more bites than I need each meal, and it adds up!

8/17: 227.0 on weigh-in, down to 225 several days later! I started calorie counting more tightly, so we'll see if the loss sticks :)

8/24: 225.4, yay for calorie counting!

8/31: 225.0 - too many planned splurges this week, so not bad considering the overages in calories. I enjoyed myself thoroughly :)

9/7: 223.2, down 1.8 pounds from a week of mostly clean eating. Friday was a little binge-y at dinner due to getting over-hungry, but I got right back in the saddle and kept plodding. My challenge goal is in sight!!!!

Thursdays aren't working for me anymore, I've noticed that I tend to binge on the weekends especially after payday when I have a little (and I mean a little) money. Which do yall think would be better: Saturday or Sunday weigh in?

I wasn't so successful with the Summer Equinox challenge... but that's entirely my fault. My computer's down for the moment but I'm gonna try to update my weight loss from work.

As of this morning, I am 254 lbs. I'm aiming for 30 lbs. So that should put me at 224 lbs at the end of this challenge.

I am so in. I am a Monday W-I 'er though, so don't mind me if I last log this thread on Sept 21 instead.

I am, as of yesterday, 169 lbs. SW That is only 1 lb down this week, but my average for the entire 9-10 months comes out to 2 lbs per week. So I have three target "goal"possibilities:

156 lbs (this is 1 lb down per week until Sept 21)
149-150 lbs (this is 1.5 lbs down per week until Sept 21)
143 (this is 2 lbs down per week until Sept 21)

I would like to go for broke and say I will be 143 lbs by then -- after all, I've been doing that good -- but truthfully things have been slower lately, more like 1 lb, 1.5, or the feeling of eeking out those 2+ lbs when I do lose them. So we'll see. I want to be under goal, but I'll be pleased so long as I am 156 or less.

I would like to join in, I weigh in on Wedsnesday, so I will post that weight for the dates listed. As for my goal, it could be a little tricky, I am just in week 2 of 3 months of adipex p and they say my weight loss could vary significantly in the beginning. but I have set the goal of being at 200 in March so I will split the difference for now, which is 38lbs so my goal is to be at 241.

Good morning, everyone! I'm having a great day. My back pain is finally starting to subside. I feel like I'm making a turning point. Yeah! I'm going on an overnight roadtrip with a friend tomorrow. I'm not going to over indulge too much. I'm feeling very motivated to lose.

My ex SIL came over last night. I hadn't seen her in two years. It was a great visit. She said that she's been doing hypnosis for weight loss & it's working really well. She said that one of the suggestions that they tell her is that the "bread" or "dessert" or whatever is for the "other people". And to feel good that other people are enjoying the food. I thought that sounded really positive, so I'm going to keep this in mind "that's for the other people. I don't need x. It's so nice to see others enjoying x".

I just weighed in at my WW meeting at noon and I'm down 2 lbs. exactly. Yay! I didn't even have that successful of a week because of parties and traveling. That leaves me at 11 pounds lost since my highest weight on May 22 (about a month!).

Now I just need to make sure that each week I lose 2 lbs. and I'll hit my challenge goal.

One thing I am going to change to make sure I hit my goal is plan my meals and snacks in advance. Currently, I have to come up with things as my hunger arises and this involves a lot of talking myself out of cravings and bad decisions. I think I am at the point now mentally where I can plan a couple days ahead and just stick to it, like auto-pilot. I've been tracking my eating for a month now and journaling about my urges to emotional eat, so I feel like I've got some headway on that.

Hi everyone:
I'm in the Equinox Challenge, too. I've always been measuring my success monthly every 20th so this is a nice ko-ink-ee-dink (coincidence).

Jan 20....177
June 20...148 (3 hours before TOM!)
Sept 20...133 (5 pounds per month)

Some facts, I have had a goal to get to 145 for many years. Now, I'm almost there and I'm going to go toward 127 as a new goal. The biggest reason that has kept me from oversleeping, overeating, or forgetting what this is all about is that I have very painful knee arthritis. I've seen so much improvement with weight loss and I can't wait until I get to "mid-BMI" for my height.

For full disclosure, this time period includes a major two week vacation to my natal homeland--the beautiful dairy state of Minnesota. The plan is to NOT gain weight while there and hold steady. I'll resume weight loss upon return.

Plan for June/July
Work out five days per week (4:30am wake-up, dvd at home)
Walk 10,000 steps 4-5 times per week
Sleep 7-8 hours per night
Eat 1300 calories per day (get my five food groups daily!)

I got the dress for Sunshine's wedding today! It's actually kinda cute. The picture on the website did not do it justice. But....it's a little tight around the boobies. :( I could live with it but BACK FAT! Sooo I'm going to try to find a little jacket to go with it that won't have me sweating buckets at the wedding. I'm off this weekend so it's gym and mall. I want to get a official bra fitting and order a strapless bra for the wedding.

I posted a blog the other day and this girl actually thanked me for posting a pic of Whitney from ANTM (I was saying that if I had to be fat, I wanted to at least be proportioned like her). It kinda made me happy because most of the girls on Xanga are dealing with eating disorders (or acting like they are), trying to lose weight the unhealthy way and always posting pics of horribly bony girls. When I post pics, I always post pics of girls I find very attractive and healthy looking. So this girl thanked me, saying that it was nice to see that she could still be pretty even while big. :^:

I've watched Sleepy Hollow about eight times in the last three days. I don't know, I just keep rewinding it! :lol: Johnny Depp is walking sex. I also unpacked (yes, I still have alot of stuff packed!) some of my books and I started to reread a Harlequin book that I haven't read in a long time. It's actually one of the first romance books I've ever read, when I was 10. I think this book and some others helped start my fascination with cowboys. To this day, I still want my own cowboy, chaps and all. ;) :D TMI, sorry. :p

Checking in with my Sunday weigh in as well. It's been a good week, went from 199 to 196...WOOHOO! It's actually been a good for exercise too. I started jogging yesterday, went much better than I expected. I tried the C25K a few months ago and could not make it through the first week, yesterday I breezed through the 60 second running stints. I have a 5K that I would like to run Thanksgiving day, so I though now would be a good time to start working up to running a 5K.

I had to change my starting weight. My regular bath scales are garbage now, and I had to weigh on my digital. I had changed back to the regular because my digital ones seem moody sometimes, depends on how you hold your tongue. lol. I will have to see how they work out now, and I may have to buy me a set of regular scales. Sometimes I think if you are near the maximum on a scale, it causes problems.

I have this... thing. As soon as I hit the lower 250s, more precisely 252, I sabotage myself. I don't know why. The desire to lose weight is definitely more than the desire to eat but something stops me. It's almost as if I start panicking the minute I see 252 on the scale. I have been in the 250s for three years now so I know the moment I hit 249, it'll bring me immense joy.

Not anymore. I want to see that 249, if not the next weigh-in then the weigh-in after that. I can do this. And I won't let any personal fears hold me back.

It has not been a good week for weight loss. No particular reason (well, there are always reasons, but nothing good) and to show for it, I have gained a pound. I did go shopping yesterday, bought all my groceries for the week. I'm making salads for lunch for the week, toasting up some almonds today for snacks, I have a plan for the week. Something I didn't have last week.

Doing the copy/paste thing:

169 lbs. SW My average for the entire 9-10 months comes out to 2 lbs per week. So I have three target "goal"possibilities:

156 lbs (this is 1 lb down per week until Sept 21)
149-150 lbs (this is 1.5 lbs down per week until Sept 21)
143 (this is 2 lbs down per week until Sept 21)

I would like to go for broke and say I will be 143 lbs by then -- after all, I've been doing that good -- but truthfully things have been slower lately, more like 1 lb, 1.5, or the feeling of eeking out those 2+ lbs when I do lose them. So we'll see. I want to be under goal, but I'll be pleased so long as I am 156 or less.

So, I had a much improved week this week, in spite of a small carb binge on one day. I had a minor surgery on July 4th, but I seemed to be mostly healed by now...

Starting (June 23): 146.4
Goal: 134 lbs

June 30: 145.4
July 7: 147.0 (post surgery + medication)
July 14: 143.6 (total lost - 2.8 lbs)
July 21 - One year weigh in!!!


So, I now have less than 10 lbs to lose to meet my final goal! I am a little scared to stop losing, but I have a feeling this may take me a while. :D

This has been a much better week. When I got on the scale Monday, after having a not-so-great weekend eating-wise, it showed 200:eek::eek::eek::eek:, I just about had a heart attack. It was mostly water weight. I finished week 3 of the C25K program :running:and it's actually going really, really well. Still walking at least 45 minutes a day, most days I do 45 minutes on my lunch break at work, then another 45-60 minutes in the evening with my dog. So, with all that, I am down to 194, which I think would have been better had I not spent the majority of the week trying to fix what I did last weekend.

The scale has been making me mad. I exercised 2 hours and did not lose any weight. Yes, my calories were in range. I needed to take a break from weighing self daily. It was driving me crazy. I'll post at the end of August. Weighing myself became a demotivator.

This is the first week in about 2 months, where I've showed no loss. It is TOM but I'm also concerned that there wasn't true loss. I did work out more this week, just by happenstance, so it's odd, but I am concerned about some runaway calories, too. I've been measuring my ounces of wine in shotglasses, and recently determined that my shotglasses are closer to 1.5 oz than 1 oz. Also I have been slowly increasing my calories as well as eating closer to my maximum on a regular basis, and so I am going to try going back down a notch for a little bit ...
