Okay . . . here we are . . . a new start for a new season. :D
Is SUMMER easier or harder for you when it comes to staying on track?
Personally, I do not like the heat, humidity, and bugs that come with this season and definitely cannot count it among my favourite times of year. I do know, I'm in the minority, though. ;)

Hi all back from Texas and getting settled back in. Ready to start back on eating right. Even though I didn't do to bad in Texas except for having wine which is always my down fall. Week ends especially are hard for me. I guess they are for everyone. Well anyway I'm going to try. Its a new week.

Hi ladies
The other thread was not locked so I posted over there. So I am copying my post for over here. Thanks Toni.
It was a crazy week and I did not get here as much as I wanted. My DD put hardwood throughout her house and they finished on Wed night. I started cleaning Thursday night until 10, Friday night until 11, and back at 9:00 on Sat and I was mopping myself out the door on Sat at 10 minutes to 5 when the honored guest arrived for her baby shower. Whew! I was exhausted. I sat my big arse on a raft all day yesterday and did't even care if it was raining or cloudy. Now I won't know what to do with myself.
Tech, I was at 180.5 this morning. I was surprised. Eating was not good all week with running to my DD's as soon as I got home. I guess I worked it off. I got up and made it to the gym this morning at 5:00 am so I can get back on track and move that scale.
Bob, you crack me up with all your movies. I never have time to sit and watch a movie. Plus don't think I could sit that long.
Ellen, so glad you had a nice visit with your sister. Sorry to hear about Tom's choleterol. But like you say, lower fat eating will benefit you both.
Toni, glad you are back and had a nice time. Wine is my downfall too, especially this time of year. I enjoy sitting on the patio with a glass, or two. But I just read that one to 2 glasses of wine, beer or boozed helps you against heart attacks 30%. So i am doing something good, right?
Meowee, sorry to hear you are not getting any better. I hope they can do somethinhg for you soon. I perfer summer. I love the heat, it can't be too hot for me. I do hate bugs though.
ATS, Two years to leave your bone marrow! Wow that is scarry. Good luck with all that. And good luck with that career change. I need one of those too, but I want it to be retirement.
Guess I had better get started on this bid for Thursday. Lots of paperwork to complete. Have a great day.

Darn I went to lunch with a friend today at a new restaurant and had plans to eat a nice chef's salad and ordered something bad anyway. I'm so disappointed in myself. I'm trying not to let it color the rest of my day and get back on eating good. Tonight I'm going to have another salad with chicken breast on it.
Solly- You're right everything in moderation. I just read an article on Sparks.com that said one glass at wine in the evening is just fine. Hope you're staying cool and not working to hard.
Meowee- Hope you're feeling better.
Well with the heat index here today its 108. Drink lots of water.

I will be off tomorrow. YIPEE! I think DH and I are going to get massages but no other plans.

Tech, congrats to Shelley. I know you both are relieved. Still at 180-181. How about you?

We went out after church tonight for dinner with a group of folks...bad move! I did not have my meds with me, so that was my first mistake. It was a Mexican restaurant...the chips were my second. It was all down hill from there. My blood sugar is terrible, and I feel stuffed. I MUST get back on the straight and narrow!
Life is crazy. How I wish it would settle down and I could relax. This week is a big 25th anniversary party for friends, and I am making the cake.
It is HOT here, and I have been in the pool every day. No way I can walk in the heat! Its been into the 90s by 9 am ....
Time for bed....

We are getting ready for the MPKS Chicago Koi Show this weekend. I'm not looking forward to the 14 hour drive but at least 90% of it will be at night. We'll be a lot cooler & hopefully traffic will be minimal.
Treatments are going OK but I still get sick after each one. I'm assuming it's detox. Oh well.....:dizzy:

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA. I was going thru a down period but boy things are sure looking up now. Last Friday my DD got a call that they had ababy for her. It's a boy, 7 lbs 13 oz, 21" long. Boy are we on cloud nine. He is simply adorable. I still can't believe it is real. They only waited 4 months after finishing the classes and to get an all white baby is nearly impossible (not that it mattered to us). Plus her best friend had a boy the same day and exact same time. The situation sounds good as far as the mother not changing her mind. I am still praying hard for that and ask that you do the same for me. It is truly a miracle and we are very blessed.
No time for replies today, will be back tommor for that.

Hey ya'll. I know I said I wouldn't leave but the board was so quiet. It was a bad move on my part....seventeen pounds later I'm back again. The ticker is updated and I can't say I'm very happy with myself. Over the last three years I've gained 35 pounds...errrr. I really really really don't want to gain the other 40 back. I prayed this morning and asked God to help me get a handle on this eating instead of the food controlling me. So far so good.
It is awesome to see some familiar faces.

Hi Toni and everybody. I hope things pick up. Talking and sharing really helps in the journey. This morning was a test and I passed. Homemade biscuits and sausage gravy. None passed these lips. I had some bing cherries instead. They were on sale last week for .99 a pound. An unbelievable price for our area. I think lunch may be refried bean soup. It's delicious and SO easy. I just use a couple of cups of either broth or water and bullion and a can of refried beans and some chopped onion. Cayenne adds that extra bite that tops it off.
Exercise is not in the picture right now. There is zero motivation. I'm hoping to start walking at some point, but one step at a time. Win the fight with food first.
I hope everyone is having a GREAT day. Remember it's all about keeping on keeping on.
God bless,
Crystle

Hi Crystle and all.... I'm with you on the exercise. I just have no desire right now. I need to get the eating in control. Whats making it bad for me is DH's working hours. He works the night shift and gets home between 12 and 1 a.m. He's hungry then and I wait up for him so I am to. Last night I had cheese and crackers. I was so mad at myself but I did it any way. He retires in Oct. so hopefully we can do some regular hours. Of course thats no excuse. How bout your garden Crystle?
CountryMom4Him
07-17-2009, 06:24 PM
Well, I didn't opt for the soup but made a nice tuna wrap with a whole wheat tortilla. And it's official I am stuffed. :) Toni, the garden is through for the summer unless I plant some peas next week. We had a bunch of first this year. We got several spaghetti and butternut squash. We also had three watermelon and about six cantaloupes. Hopefully next year won't be so dry and we'll do even better. But I feel blessed for the things we did harverst. I finally quit picking the okra because there was so much. I'm letting it go to seed for next year. Oh and we found a snake melon plant and it actually produced. They are basically a different kind of cucumber.

I've been all over but nothing compares to home...I love the trees here.We were thinking of taking a trip to San Antonio, are you close by?

Thought I had better check in. It's hot as you know what down here...we had a good rain storm this morning and it actually cooled everything off for about 5 minutes!
Let's see if I can catch y'all up.....
Took Kate for a regular check up Thursday and the Dr discovered an Atrial Flutter. He admitted her to the hospital and she is still there. They started her on coumadin and hopefully when the levels get where they need to be, she can come home. We are waiting on results of a stress test also. She had a carotid study done and the results of that were good, so she won't have to have that surgery done. Her heart was beating 106 per minute and they started her on medication to regulate that. When the Dr gave her the news about the carotid study, she perked right up and even sounds better. Her medical Dr was convinced she would have to have surgery to clean out the arteries. Keep your fingers crossed the levels will be ok tomorrow. She's getting antsy, but loves all the attention she's getting.
I'm still not working, but it comes at a good time since I'll need to attend to her when she comes home. She doesn't need to be by herself with these problems.
I've lost 31lbs and I really believe that is from lack of work stress. I hadn't weighed since Febuary and went to the Dr last month. When I saw the numbers on that scale, I wanted to jump up and down! I want to change my paxil to something different as weight gain (constant) is the big side effect of the drug. It's almost impossible to lose weight while taking it. When I take Kate for her next appointment, I'll consult with the Dr about it.
That's about it on this end. Sounds like everyone is doing well. Sorry I've been such a slacker on the board. I'll try to do better!
I'm off to see what I can get in to.
JACKEE....CONGRATS on the baby....send me a picture!

Sharing my first weigh-in since being back on plan....minus 4 :) I know it's mostly water but it still gives me that ump to keep on trying. I had a few no-no's this weekend but I tried really hard to not totally jump off plan.
Mary...thank you for your kind words. We used to live in Charlotte back in the 70's. Daddy worked for Exxon and they transfered us to Texas in 77. We are about four hours from San Antonio. Both my hubby and I would like to go sometime to visit the Alamo and the Riverwalk. My nephew lives there and just loves it. Why do you have to go on a raw veggie diet?
Bob...how good to see you. ((Bob)) Awesome on the weight loss.
Toni. ..do you just love your new faucet? We need a new sprayer on the kitchen sink. It gets stuck on and the kids love to turn it off and have me come in and get squirted..LOL

Hi Ladies
I am just back to work. I took off Friday and Monday and stayed with my DD and new grandson. He is adorable and I just love being with him. I sure wish I could retire and keep him for her when she returns to work (teacher). Needless to say eating has been off the wall. I am afraid to get on the scale. May bite the bullet and do that tomorrow. Exercising has been cut back a lot. With the baby and me staying out there plus my foot. I had my last trainer session last week and did not renew until things settle down with the baby and I get the boot off my foot (which will probably be another 4 weeks). So I will do what I can when I can and try to start eating right again soon.
Bob glad to see you back posting. Congrats on the loss. I would never be that lucky. :carrot: Hope Kate is out of the hospital soon. Coumadin in hard to regulate. At least the arteries are good. I just had a friend have that done at age 53.
Crystle, Glad you are back posting. I know what you mean about eating. It has been a merry-go-round here and exercise is the last thing on my mind.
Toni, It will be nice when your hubby retires. We got new faucets last Dec and I love them. Funny how things like that make us happy.
Mary, Sorry about your Dh's father. Sounds like you are running around like crazy. Hope you get some rest in the SC.

Hey ladies. I've been thinking about you lately and thought I should check in. Looks like it's been a slow summer!
I''ve got 3 weeks left of the Atlanta Momma's Biggest Loser competition that I joined. And guess who's in first place? YEah. I'm pretty darn competitive. I'm down to 181 lbs and fitting into size 10!!!! I mean, I was an 18 this time last year!! It's been great and I've volunteered to moderate for the next round of AM BL here. It'll keep me going. Really I'm jsut exercising every day and sticking to my food allerigies. I've lost about 10% of my body weight in 11 weeks.
The kids are great. Selah started first grade last week (year round school) and we are remodeling the kitchen so the house is a little wild. I'm working a lot and just dealing with my kiddos. Life is busy. :)

Hello, everyone!
Sorry I have been MIA. No excuses...just lazy and busy as usual.
We are having a big pool party for our area for our church tomorrow. I ought to be cleaning and stuff, but I am dragging my feet about getting started. In a few minutes, I will head out to the pool store in hopes of finding some replacement parts for the ladder. Pool stuff is very specialized, not standardized and therefore very expensive! The pool vac, made from about $5 of materials, costs $500 or more...its ridiculous!
I have been struggling with my blood sugar levels. I am trying to walk every day again, and it has been rather hard to get into the habit. I do swim every day, but that is not enough.
Its good to see Country and Bob on here...and some new folks too! I hope to get to know the new folks better!
Ok, off to run errands!

SOLLY: Congrats on the grandson! You are going to LOVE being a grandmother! Its SO much fun!

It is cloudy here but still not rainy. It is SO dry. I can't remember when we've been in this deep of a drought situation. Praise God for air conditioning, I just stay inside and try to stay cool. Eating has been less than stellar but I'm trying to get back in the swing of things.
My son put the sunflowers to dry on the porch the other day. I kept on him about putting the seeds in a bag. Well, he didn't listen and my chickens are loving my sunflower seeds..LOL Gotta love farm life. Most of the chickens live in a coop but I have three that run around just being fun to watch. :) We also have some geese running around. Two of them are finding it fun to chase us. Good thing is they are still young enough we can chase them off. We used to have one that LOVED to torture me. My hubby would just laugh when "Louie" would chase me across the yard.

Ellen- Its good to see you posting. I missed hearing your good posts. Sorry about your blood sugars. At least you have the pool to exercise in.

Hello everyone! I have had a rotten day. It all started last night when I could not fall asleep. Last time I looked at the clock was 5:30! Then Tom left at 8, and kissed me good bye which woke me, and I fell back asleep only to have the phone ring at 9:10 with some salesman...grrr. So I have been up since then, with a one hour nap this afternoon. Boy am I dragging!
I am back in a no man's land with doctors. I am so tired of not having a decent doctor. Makes me want to scream! My prescriptons are about out and one doctor I considered could not give me an appointment until September!! That sure is not going to work. I left a message with another one, and I am keeping my fingers crossed they call back and have an earlier time available for me.
Hope all is well with everyone!

My monday weigh-in was good. 178.6 BUT today I was back up to 180. I ate a big dinner last night with DH's family and we didn't eat until 8pm so that may acount for most of it. With how miserable I feel today, I bet I'll make up for some of it. Completely have lost my appetite.
Yesterday was Lucas' 3rd Bday so that's why the fam was over. We made chicken salad sandwiches and had a picnic at DH's softball game for the church league. I was running around and didn't get to eat until the game was mostly over. By that time was was starving and ate too much, including a large handfull of Doritos and I'm NOT SUPPOSED TO EAT CORN!! :nono: I'm obviously paying for it today. We got home and had cake and icecream at 9:45 and rushed the kids to bed. The cake was a mess. I tried to make a wheat, corn, soy free cake, which usually turns out good. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to add the sugar or the extra cocoa powder. Duhhh.. I poured some jello over it to sweeten it up (it did have some pudding in it so was slightly sweet) and added cream cheese frosting. With the vanilla ice cream it wasn't too bad. But overall it wasn't great to I had no problem taking a few bites and throwing out the rest of my serving.:^:
Bob- What a great loss! you're such a BOL (Big Ol Loser ;) ):carrot:
Ellen- My parents have sunk so much money into their pool. It's insane. And it doesn't get used much. I wish I lived closer and we could!
ATS- Happy Anniversary!!! :D I have a hard time with holidays, too. I get ery disturbed at how much people spend especially if they really can't afford it. It's stressful to me. But I gerw up one of 10 kids and we were thrilled with our ONE $20 gift each year and a few pair of socks and underwear.
Country- Put the cookie down, woman!!!

Howdy ya'll. If I were to put last week on a stress monitor it would be broken. Eating unfortunately followed. I won't begin to list all of the eating violations. It would be a book. Even with the bad eating I'm trying to have some good eating.
Ellen...awesome on finding a new doctor. I hope you get to keep this one. ((hugzz))
Talitha...hope you are feeling better soon.
Toni...Solly...Bob...how are ya'll? I really miss when you aren't at the board.
Ya'll have any ideas how be can make the board more active or is everyone just that busy?
Love and hugs,

Hi ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA. Work is crazy and then I was off a couple days to stay with the baby. That is so much fun. Sure wishI could do it all the time.
I have a dr appt for my foot in a few minutes. I don't expect to get out of this boot, but I hope it is healinhg so I don't need surgery. I think I will have him look at my boob while I am there (think a foot dr will look at boobs). I have some rash or bite that is itching e to death. My fear is that it is shingles. Then I could not be around the baby. Oh No!
Mary, happy anniversary. I had mine last week 36 years. I will be glad to send you some of our rain. That is all we have had here.
Crystle, hang in there lady. I have been eotional eating for 3 weeks now and I was shocked when I faced the scale this morning. I had lost about 7 pounds somehow. My clothes don't feel like it since I have not been exercisng. I'm still not sure that can be right if yo knew all I have eaten. Praying your problems go away and you can get back on track. Glad to hear you are staying.
Ellen, good to see your post. Hope this new doc works for you. I need to find a new GP since mine moved way across town.
Talitha, Congrats on your loss. You are doing awesome. Wish we had something like that here. I bet running after all those kiddos keeps you trim.
Got to get to the doc. See you tomorrow.

I know that I'm one of the people I'm getting ready to preach at, but if everyone doesn't get to posting, THE CHICKS are gonna delete our forum and make us post in the general lobby...I would hate for that to happen since we've been doing this in our own place for so long. PLEASE DON'T LURK....POST....HELP US KEEP OUR FORUM OUR OWN!!!

Oh boy finally on. My laptop went down and I couldn't find my password for 3fatchicks. I just got it in an old book I had. Sorry I've been missing. You're right Bob we've got to post or lose our forum. My computer is at Dell being fixed again for the third time. Hope they can figure out why I keep losing the Mother Board. Eating hasn't been great but I keep plugging along.
Mary- Hope you're feeling okay.
Crystle- Hop back up on the wagon. You can do it girl.......
Talitha- Hows the sinus infection? Seems like all of us are having a rough time with eating.
Ellen- Hows the pool this summer. Hope that doctor turns out to be a good one.
Solly- Hows the foot? Sounds like you're having a good time with the grandbaby....
Bob- How is Kate? Did she get out of the hospital?
Well I'll be back tomorrow cause I get in to post..... Sleep well.

Howdy ya'll. We are on vacation this week so if I'm hit and miss that is why. My eating is still not in check but today is a new day and so far so good. I'm enjoying my cup of iced coffee made with skim milk. :) I watched a Rachel Ray episode that showed saving old coffee in ice cube trays. When you use those the ice coffee doesn't get watered down. Ever since then I've been hooked. I drink one in the morning and one at night.
They opened a new farmers market in the down about 30 minutes from here. I can't wait to check it out.
Congratulations Mary and Solly. We had our anniversary this past week also.
Solly...Are you totally in love with the new baby? They have such a way of stealing our hearts. Britt is due in about 9 weeks. She is getting a 4D ultra sound Friday. She showed me some online and they are so life like. I can hardly wait to sneak a peek. Hope you terrible itching goes away. My hubby had shingles once and the pain was way worse than any itching so I pray you don't have them.
Toni...Sorry that your computer is down but so glad you have a back-up. I love hearing from you. ((hugzz))
Thanks Bob for the encouragement. Losing the board would be a huge loss. In the early days it was so vibrant and active. I'm totally committed to helping and being encouraging in any way I can.
Remember you are the best you there is and you are worth the effort. ((Everybody))
God bless,

Hi ladies,
Well I guess i am like the groundhog, six more weeks in this boot. I alsohave to use a bone stimulator. Yuk! I had the foot doc look at by breast (bet he hadn't been asked to do that before) and he did not think it was shingles. I am still not sure so I am getting ready to go to my RA doc ad have tem look at it. I would hate to cancel my DD's shower Sunday and by SIL's birthday dinner tonight.
Thanks BOB, I promise to do better on posting. How is Kate doing?
Toni, glad you found your pw and are back on here.
Country, That is so exciting to share in all the pregnancy experiences. Things have changed so much these days. We love ours even though she did not give birth, probably more so, if that is possible.
Off to the doc.

Here in Missouri we had such wonderful July weather in the 80's and now we have horrible Aug. weather 95's. Eeeeeek. Trying to stay cool, and poor DH doesn't have air cond. in the shop where he works and is half sick when he comes home for dinner break. He's so happy he's retireing soon. Eating has been okay today. Having pork cutlets for dinner.
Crystle-The iced coffee sounds good and refreshing. And what a neat idea to freeze coffee cubes. Wish I could go to the Farmers market with you. I would love that. Even though I live in a small rural town there isn't a place to buy good vegetables for 200 miles. I wish so bad I had some to can up. I haven't been able to grow a garden in years.
Solly- Can't believe you're stuck in that boot for six more weeks. How miserable. Hope your RA can tell you what it is and get it cleared up. Hope you get to enjoy the birthday dinner. And DD's shower on Sunday.
Guess I'd better go start dinner. Have a good evening and stay cool....

Hey everyone. I'm TRYING to be more consistent at checking in. It's hard to do with 4 munchkins, a business to run AND a house in construction!
We ordered the kitchen cabinets last week and they'll be in on the 24th:carrot::carrot: I just can't believe it!! It's been 5 years!!
I have 10 days left to my competition. Solly, all it is is a group of local moms who decided to challenge each other. It's a board very similar to this. We each send in a $20 gift card to Target, follow the rules and stay accountable, then the winner takes most (2nd and 3rd get a little). We have 27 ppl this round, so it will be about $450 for first. And I'm still in first. :)
Ellen- I hope this Doc works out. I hate having to switch around!
Solly- on of the other BL competitors is having foot surgery tomorrow and will be in a cast for 14 weeks (most of next round). She's got a whole set up of floor exercises and cardio planned.
Crystal- Oh man! I thought I made that coffee-cube thing u p myself!! That's what I do! LOL
Toni- we're having the same weather switch here. Stinks :( So glad to have you back :)

Good morning ladies
Well the RA doc confirmed that it is shingles. I had a sneakly suspiscion when my whole side was sore to the tought. She gave me a prescription for Valtrex (which I forgot to take this morning) and a soak to use. Lucyily I only have 6 leisons and they should go away quickly. I am not contagious so I can stil see my baby and have the shower. We did not do SIL's dinner last night. It was horrible here. Don't know if any of you saw the news where we were flooded. Over 9" if rain. 6" within an one hour period.
Talitha, Wow $450 from Target can be well spent. Congrats to you. Now keep hanging in there. I find it very hard to do cardio with a cast on your foot. Hoping these shingles get better and I can get to the gym next week.
Toni, I will gladly send you our weather. It is horrible. I love the 90's so send it my way. We haven't even got to get in the pool but a couple of times this summer.
Crystle, BOB, Ellen, Mary  Hope you are having a great day.
Got to go, we have another bid today.

Good afternoon. One word to describe Texas right now "Hot". :) I am so ready for fall. Robert tilled the garden yesterday so it's ready for fall planting. Most of that won't be for another month though. I'm tempted to do a few peas but with the lack of rain I really don't know if it would be worth the effort.
Last night's super was actually pretty healthy. I made a creole sauce for the talapia and served it over rice with broccoli on the side. It wasn't the best rice but I didn't eat seconds. :)
Solly...I'm so sorry you have the shingles. I remember how tender Robert was. He can tolerate extreme pain without complaint but the shingles actually sent him to the doctor he was so sore. You are so right about the grand baby, birth or adoption they are too precious for words. And I can't wait to hear all the stories as yours grows.
Toni...Too bad you don't live closer we could go together. My hubby will take me but he'll pout the whole time..LOL He does not like to shop. Praying you get a break in the weather soon.
Talitha..thanks for popping in, especially since you are so busy. We love hearing how you are doing. I think that each lady here adds something special to the board.
Ellen, Bob and Mary..hope you are having a super week so far.
God bless,
Crystle

Oh wow I'm getting on here so late. Don't know what I've done with the day. Made a big salad and put grilled chicken on it. I can tell its time to get somemore food items in the house. I'd kill for a home grown tomato. Wish I could find a road side stand. What is everyone doing? Tomorrow I think its clean out the fridge day. Ugh......
Talitha- Woo Hoo new cabinets. Lucky woman, I'm in such envy. You go girl on the competion. I so hope you win......
Solly- Darn thats bad you have shingles. I had them on my leg once and boy was it painful. And it took forever to get rid of. I can't believe the floods you had.
Crystle- Can't wait till you plant your fall garden. I really love hearing about what you grow and cook.
Guess I'll go watch Bobby Flay cook wonderful apple pie in a paper bag.

Not much time this morning but I wanted to pop in and hope that would be a trigger to better eating today. We are on vacation and part of vacation is going out to eat, which we did last night. A pizza buffet is one hard place to be "good". I wasn't and even tasted several of the dessert. But today is a new day.
Hope ya'll are having a GREAT week so far.

MEOWEE I feel it's def easier in summer to stay on track!!!!! I think cuz of the less clothes thing. I wear less clothes and it a constint reminder that I'm unhappy with what I see... in the winter months a decent pair of jeans and a long sleve shirt can hide alot! :)

Want- I agree summer is easier to eat right. Not only are the close lighter but there are nice fruits and veggies in season. Why then am I having such a hard darn time???????? LOL

Hi Ladies, nothing much going on here. Shingles are burning like fire. Off and on it feels like I am having chest pains. Maybe if I could rest and relax instead of running myself ragged they may go away or not hurt as bad. Is there anything else I can get? Last night I had to go out by myself and I had 4 places to go. I had to take this stupid boot off and on 8 times. I was fit to be tied by the time I got home.
Crystle, now lets not talk about Fall yet. We haven't had a good summer here yet. It is finally going to warm up this weekend. You can start again after vacation. Enjoy, just don't go overboard. Gee, that is so easy to say to someone else :fr:
Toni, I haven't seen many home grown tomatoes yet. Does't bother me as I don't like tomatoes, wish I did, but DH does.
Wantingtobe140, Welcome to our group. I agree about the clothes. Plus winter time we seem to hibernate and eat comfort foods.
Guess I will take off. Have a few things to do for the shower tonight. Sure wish the cleaning fairy would come and clean my house. I think my baby may be stopping by for a minute tonight so that will make me happy. have a great evening.

Hello Ladies!
So far, so good on the new doctor. They called to tell me my diabetes was not in control...well, I knew that...and I need to go in sooner than originally said. So next week I have a follow up visit. We shall see what she says then. I have definite ideas of what the course of action should be.... Consequently, I am trying to be more careful in my eating. I realize I was a bit lax...and eating some whites that I should be avoiding.
Saturday is my grandson's third birthday party. They are having it here at our pool. We have a wedding to go to in the morning, then will come home to the party in full swing. That is better than last year when we missed his second birthday party because Tom insisted on going to his mother's family reunion. We will miss that this year. :cheer:
Tomorrow I am going to a free cooking class/demo at Whole Foods for Paninnis and cold tomato soup. I have an abundance of ripe tomatoes... looking forward to it!
I have a new walking buddy, which is very encouraging. She is a friend of mine who lives a few doors down the street. We have known each other for many years, and our children played together. She is a good reliable buddy...so I am excited!
I will try and be more consistent at checking in. :grouphug:

Bootcamp kicked my butt this morning. I feel great!!
I'm only down 1/2 lb for the week. I think I'm hitting a plateau, which would be fine if it weren't the LAST WEEK of the competition!! I may go all veggies and meat for the next 7 days. No dairy (after this yummy mocha I'm sipping...) no carbs..... Just a few days to see if it gets me over the hump.

Happy Friday ladies
Whew, it's been a busy morning. We had a proposal to do today and of course they didn't start on it until last night. So I had about 3 hours of typing this morning plus tons of other stuff to do on it.
Having my DD's shower on Sunday so have lots to do tomorrow to get ready for it. It should be fun. It is really a cook-out/shower for our family to get to see the baby.
Ellen, I can't beleive your GS is 3 already. My how time flies. Have fun, I know he will. Hope you can get your diabetes in line before going back to the dr.
Talitha. I am for the weekly weigh-in and whatever else it takes. I hoe you can beat that plateau before the end of the competiton. I think you are going to win. I don't think you have to worry about the bites of ice cream. All that exercise will wipe that out.
Only 45 minutes left to this work day. Can't wait to get home. Have a great weekend everyone

It is so awesome to see everyone at the board. It really helps to know we share common struggles with food, plateaus and sometimes the craziness of life. :) Supper was the best thing on my menu last night. I made a shrimp Parmesan sauce and served it over whole wheat. My whole family need to get back to the whole wheat again. The hard part about that is that is raises my grocery bill quite a bit the healthier we eat as a family. But no excuses. I have over a 100 pounds of wheat in the freezer. I just need to get off my hiney and start making fresh pasta and bread. Most of the laziness has come from bad eating. My energy level and emotions have both taken a nose dive since eating sugar and other "white" foods. The heat level here in Texas hasn't helped much either.
Talitha...I think it's a great idea to have a weigh-in. Having someone else see my failures or successes really motivates me to do better. Once vacation is over I'm gonna start journaling again. I have fit day the home addition and it is very helpful for counting calories and writing down my daily thoughts.
Solly..Sorry that you are having to deal with the shingles. Robert wasn't able to find anything that really helped him. He actually had to take pain pills if I remember correctly and he doesn't take pain pills. :) Hope you have great weather for your shower. ((hugzz))
Ellen...oh my gosh time flies. It's hard to believe it's been three years. I know I shouldn't be too surprised since Lilly is going to be 4 in Oct. The older we get the faster time gets for sure. Praying the new doctor will be able to help you get your sugar back in order.
Toni...Hang in there. I think there are so many little things that cause us to lose focus or struggle with our weight. For me it's a control issue. There are areas out of control in my life right now and it's showing in my out of control eating. God and I have been talking about it. I know that I know that I need to let go and let God but sometimes that is easier said than done. But no more excuses. Food is not my comfort or my idol so I'm gonna stop whining and eat like I know I should. ((hugzz))
Wanting2b140...hello. I don't believe we've meet before. Good luck on your journey. My original goal was 140 but my body just wouldn't go there. I did maintain 154 for about four years. The last two or so years I haven't been so good but I'm hoping to get back there.
Gonna finish this awesome glass of iced coffee and start my do nothing day. :) Let's see if that happens or chores happen..LOL Wishing ya'll the best weekend full of love and precious memories. When tempted remember you are worth saying no.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

Yea DH just started the barbeque and we're going to grill steaks. Have to figure out if I'm just making a salad with it. Got lots of house stuff done today so I'm really happy. Yesterday we went to the social security office for DH to file and then to grocery shopping. What a busy day.
Crystle- That shrimp dish sounds so wonderful. You cook the best stuff! Mine is so plain jane. I know what you mean about the control thing. I have so much trouble. And right now I'm on a sweets thing. Love your posts....
Ellen- Oh boy a walking buddy. That helps so much. I hope you get your blood sugar in control and this new doctor listens to you....
Talitha- I think your menu is great. It used to help me to post it. I need to do that again. Keep up the good work. I'm rooting for you to win the contest....
Better go get stuff ready for dinner....
Solly- How are the shingles. Hope they're getting better. Hope the shower is so much fun and you didn't work to hard getting ready for it.

Good morning ladies.
Gosh here it is Monday already. how the weekends fly by.
The shower went well, exxcept this morning I found a whole plate of tomatoes an onions that I cut up and no one got out of the fridge. So now I have all this left. Shame I don't like tomatoes. She got lots of nice things and tons of books. We had everyone bring a book instead of a card with their gift.
Shingles are still causing lots of pain. Really just in one spot. I was lucky I only have about 8 leisions. I go to get an epidural in my neck this afternoon and he said that will help with the shingles.
Time to get back on track with eating and exercising. I wanted to go to the gym this morning but I could not sleep last night. So needless to say I didn't even hear DH's alarm. But there is nothing to prevent me from eating right today. Back to journaling my food and counting calories.
Crystle, Praying your can get your "out of control issues" solved and get to a good place. I loved your closing line. It is so true.
Toni, Sounds like you accomplished a lot in one day. Hoep you had a good weekend.
Ellen, how is your walking buddy working out?
Bob, where are you?
Off to get some work done. Yuk!
Ellen

Hello everyone! I can't tell you what a great blessing my neighbor has been. She rings my doorbell every morning at 7...no excuses! I have walked every day for 45 minutes since we started. I am encouraged. Blood sugar is still high, but coming down bit by bit...which is best.
I am SO sleepy today. Not sure why! I took a nap this morning after I got home from walking, and I am seriously thinking of taking another. Caffeine has not helped much at all! I think a dip in the pool would help, but Tom shocked it last night, so the chlorine levels are too high to get in safely.
The party over the weekend went well. Once Kaeleb figured out the presents were for him, and all full of good things, he was VERY enthusiastic. It was cute. I wish I had a picture of the cake. I baked it and Ruth decorated it. It was train with about five cars...with animals on it. Just adorable! I had a very small piece and was pleased with my restraint...it took off the icing and tossed it. :)
Its HOT here...and school started today. Its crazy, but almost every school system started today. I guess they are trying to move to year round school....

Wow we just had a nice summer rain and it sure cooled it down here. I know its just temporary. Having trouble with acid reflux today so it is making me sleepy so I might just try to take a nap. Eating has been fine today.
Solly- Dang the shingles. Hope you can get back to the gym tomorrow. I've got to dig my treadmill out again and try to start back on it. I'm letting this summer pass me by.
Ellen- Good for you walking so much. 45 minutes is just right. Glad the party was a success....
Hey Crystle, Tabitha, and Bob where are you?

Weighed in this morning at 177.2 I'm so close to 175, which was my goal for the competition. I started my TOM yesterday and I'm really bloated and all that jazz. Friday is the last weigh in for the competition and I'm DETERMINED to be at 175. Even if it's 175.8 I WANT that number! But I am still very much in the lead and I think I'm safe.
So, as far as a weekly weigh-in, I will be weighing in on Fridays from here on out. Anyone want to join me?
I was sick over the weekend and didn't log
Today:
B: 1 plum, 1 boiled egg
S: apple
L: tossed salad w/ 3oz grilled chicken, 1/4 c low fat cheese, lettuce, zuccini, mushrooms, balsamic
S: 5 hot wings and a sprite with a few (maybe 7) of Lucas' fries (bad, I know)
D: should be a bowl of cabbage soup I'm making. No more protein for the day.
EXERCISE: Cardio on the elyptical and treadmill, abs.. The reading was at 650 cal burned when I was done.
Solly: How are you feeling? Have you tried Witch Hazel? I know that works for MANY skin rashes and iritations to cool it.
Ellen: You're always having a party! I hope they are moving to year round. We LOVE it!!
Toni: I'm hoping it will rain here tonight. I NEED it!! LOL
Country: I liked FitDay but have found sparkpeople to be much easier to use. I need to get back on that!

Long day. :) My daughter took me shopping for a dress for the baby shower. Let me just tell you, dresses are NOT as forgiving as stretch jeans. The weight I've put on over the last three years is so disheartening and to be a size 14/16 is quite the step backward. Oh well, we can only look forward an not back if we hope to get anywhere. I weigh about 186. I'll make an official weigh in on Friday to be on track with everyone else.
Talitha...Congratulations on your weight loss.
Toni...thank you for your kind words. I wish I didn't cook so well..LOL My hips are HUGE! :) Of course not walking wouldn't have anything to do with that would it. Wish I had a treadmill. I can't seem to make myself get out in this heat.
Solly...do you eat cooked tomato? You could blend them in a blender or food processor and make either salsa or tomato sauce...just cook them down after you blend them.
Ellen...WTG on the walking.

Hello, everyone!
We walked again this morning for about 40 minutes. Its so nice to HAVE to do it! I just could not greet my friend at the door in my nightgown! I have been hopping out of bed as soon as I wake up, getting dressed, and finishing up my morning routine before the doorbell rings.
I am SO tired today, I can't explain it. I was this way yesterday morning too. About 4pm, I perked up and then was ok for the evening. Its weird to be so draggy in the morning!
I have company coming for dinner tonight, so I need to make a run to the store for a few ingredients. Last night I finally finished the teapots I made two months ago. I had them wrapped up in plastic and was spritzing them with water every few days. It feels good to be done with them. Now I need to clean down there so I will feel like working on some new stuff.
I have been trying to be on track with my eating, but last night I kind of had a melt down and ate mostly carby stuff I should not have. My blood sugar was terrible this morning because of it. Hopefully, that will help me to remember the consequences of bad eating behavior and give me more resolve not to do it again!
Weigh in on Fridays sounds good. I will try to join you.
Off to get something done!

Hi ladies,
Nothing exciting here. I did not get up and make it to the gym this morning. I am so digusted with myself. Instead I layed there trying to decide what to do and really never fell back asleep, so I might as welll gotten up. Maybe I will go tonight after work. Nothing going on anyway. Eating is not back on track. Don't know what is wrong with me. Just wanting the bad stuff or too much of the good stuff b/c I don't keep hardly any bad stuff in the house. Hope the motivation kicks in soon. Maybe the gym will help.
Ellen, WTG on eating a small piece of cake. And good job on the walking. I will be so glad when I get this boot off and am able to walk again. I really miss it so much. That cake sounds adorable. I wish you lived near me. I was looking for someone to do the cake for my DD's shower. The cupcakes she wanted were $30 a dozen and I would have needed 2-3 dozen. No way. So my other DD and I make cupcakes that looked like rattles. We decorated the cupcakes, stuck a stick in the side, tied a bow on the stick and put a gum drop slice on the end. They really turned out cute. Are you eating any protein at breakfast? Maybe that will help give you more energy.
Toni, Hope you get your reflux under control today. That has to be miserable.
Talitha, I will join you on Friday's weigh-in. Maybe that will help get me through the weekends. Good job on your weight. I know you will be at the 175 by Friday. Isn't Witch Hazel just alcohol?
Crystle, thanks for the idea. I will blend them for sauce. Yes, I love, love tomato soup catsup, sauce, salsa, just not fresh tomatoes. I think it is the texture. I am the same way with cantelopes, melons, anything with the slimy texture.
Off to do some work. Have a great day.

Today has been good so far. For breakfast I made sausage with bell pepper, onion, zucchini, yellow squash, sweet potato and cayenne pepper. The guys had tortillas but I ate mine with a fork. :)
We are on the run today so forgive me for the short note. I'll try to sneak on later. If not I'll definitely be on tomorrow.
Hang in there and keep on keeping on. ((Everybody)) You ARE the best you there is.

Afternoon ladies. I'm having a great day. The lady that helps with the housework is here cleaning. I'm so glad. I'll be gone all day tomorrow with my heart doctor appointment and tests. So I'll be happy to come home to a nice clean house. Acid reflux is so much better today too. Haven't eaten very much but eating is still not good.
Talitha- My gosh you're so darn close to your goal. I'm just praying for you to hit it. Eating looks good. Cabbage soup sounds so good. How did you make yours?
Crystle- I would not be caught dead in a dress. I like so horrible in one. I'm to dang fat! You are smaller than me so enjoy you can wear one. Are you still on vacation? I hope you're enjoying it.
Ellen-At least you're keeping up with your walking. Thats so great. Sorry you're dragging and hope you have a better day today. Good luck with your dinner party....
Solly- Oh boy we can do this! Its seems as if we're all struggling. I wish I had some big words of ? GET to that GYM........
Have to run be back tomorrow night.....

Hi ladies,
Yesterday was very busy so hoping today is better. Just got fitted for a bone stimulator. It is trapped on my boot and I have to wear it for 3 hrs a day. Just hoping it makes this break heal faster and I can get out of this dang boot. I am really tired of it.
I haven't been back to the gym Going to wait until Monday. DH thinks I should give the shingles a couple more days so I am not sore on top of the shingle pain. The epidural I got the other day really has seemed to help with the shingle pain. They still burn, but the stabbing pain is gone. They have scabbed over so I guess they are leaving soon.
Toni, hope you got a good report fromthe checkup. Do you know anything or do you have to wait for results to come back.? I would love to come home to a clean house. I did it once and t was nice. But I can't seem to spend the money on it. Now I am cleaning my DD's house too since the baby. Housecleaning was the last thing on her mind before the baby so now it is way down the list. I can't stand it so I just go and do it.
Talitha, Hope you are getting close to your goal for tomorrow. I think you will win.
Elllen, how's the walking going?
Crystle, Hope you get done all you need to today. Have a good one.
Bob, where are you?
Guess I had better get somethign accomplished here. Have a great day

So sorry I didn't get to stop in yesterday. A friend came over and we had a great day crocheting, looking in crafting and cook books. Then we had giant salads and some awesome homemade bread. :) I told her I was gonna have to fess up to ya'll about the bread. But it was worth it.
This morning I didn't eat on plan but I tried to keep the portion reasonable. I made my first savory breakfast bread pudding. It was very tasty. My hubby gave me some ideas to tweak it for next time.
Toni...I made the switch from britches to dresses and it's been interesting trying to find things that won't make my hiney look like a barn. :) I pray you get awesome results from your tests.
Solly...Awesome that your shingles are feeling better. I think I missed what happened to your foot. Did you break it?
Ellen...Bob...Talitha...Hope ya'll are having a GREAT day.
Mary..how is your shoulder? Are you lurking? Love to hear from you.
Remember no matter what size you are still AWESOME! You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Just sitting here waiting for the guy from Dish to come see whats wrong with our satillite. We may go to Direct tv. if its going to cost to much to fix. The system is way to old to be putting money into it. Had some hashbrowns with breakfast this morning. A tiny bit. So shame on me.
Solly- Oh my gosh a bone stimulator sounds awful. I sure hope it helps. I can't imagine how tiring it would be to wear that boot. Your DH is probably right on waiting on the gym till those darn shingles are a little better. Man Solly you are really having a round of it..... You have my prayers for you to have a healthy recovery on all this stuff...... Have to wait for them to call me on the tests. I don't know what they'll do cause my doctor is out of town to New York till November. Of course I found that out yesterday after going all that way.
Crystal- That sounds like a great day with your friend. I love times like that.
I'd sure have to have some of that bread pudding too. I've never had a savory one. I wish I was your neighbor I'd be sneaking around your kitchen all the time. LOL......
Guess I'll go and make the bed and some stuff. Today is laundry day too. Have a good afternoon.

Toni...if you decide to go with Direct I think you'll be happy. We used to have Dish but have had Direct for the last two years. We have almost no outages and enjoy the extra Christian channels. I'd love for you to be my neighbor. We'd have a blast. :)
Back to being lazy...I'm resting for the upcoming weekend. :) That's my story and I'm sticking to it...LOL

Its been a busy day! I have walked every day this week...but unfortunately my blood sugar levels are not improving. I am feeling pretty frustrated.
Today, my son in law came over and did some yard work as a surprise for Tom...then they stayed for dinner. Kaeleb was adorable of course...he went to the store with me and we had a good time shopping for groceries.
I am pretty tired, and need to go to bed. Dinner tonight was ground beef fajitas. I guess I ate too much ...just had one whole wheat tortilla with ground beef, beans, guacamole and cheese on it. Oh and home made salsa and lettuce...and then I blew it with a hand full of corn chips. My blood sugar is really bad tonight. I am at wits end with it all...walking is not helping, and my eating has improved a good bit and it is not helping.
I hope everyone has a good weekend!

Okay off I go. Hopeing Talitha won the challenge.

Hey ladies. I'm sorry that I forgot to come tell my weigh-in yesterday. I weighed in at 175.4 !!!!!! I am SOO proud of myself!! They haven't released the results of the competition, but I know that I've won. :)
For this weekend I'm allowing myself a little celebrating, but keeping it under control. Last night DH and I went out salsa dancing. We opted for not going out to eat first. Better financially AND for our eating. We did go to Steak and Shake after dancing and each drank two big glasses of water and shared a small milkshake.
Tonight I'm going out with some girlfriends. We are going to a local mexican cantina which is perfect because I know exactly what to order. I order the side salad and a chicken taco with no tortilla and no cheese. Then I dump the chicken on the salad. It is sooooo yummy!!
Ok ladies. you gonna weigh-in? Even if you're late today or tomorrow, go ahead and do it and be prepared to weigh in on friday again. Let's get ourselves motivated and into a routine!!!

CONGRATS, Talitha! That is awesome that you met your goal! I am so excited for you! When do you get the official 'you won'?
Been a busy weekend. Tom and I picked figs yesterday and I made a low sugar batch of preserves. I also made whole wheat biscuits that turned out pretty good. I put sausage in them for sausage biscuits...a quick breakfast favorite with the men here.
I have my follow up appointment with the new doctor tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what she says.

Good morning ladies,
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent most of it with my new GGS. Boy is he colicy (sp). He cried most of the 2 days I was there. I have never seen a new baby sleep so little. I bet he never slept a whole hour the entire day until they got in the car. I think I am too old for this.
Made it back to the gym this morning. Did beginner stuff at lighter weights. I don't want to barge right back to where I was and hurt myself. Now to get my eating back on track. So far so good today.
BF: Hardboiled egg, 1 pc thin ww bread (equal to 1 reg piece), 1T light mayo.
Snack: 1/2 container of carb master yogurt (light)
Lunch: Turkey on ww sandwich thin, 1 T mayo, grapefruit pieces, leftover broccoli casserole.
Snack strawberries.
Dinner: Chicken (most likely chicken parmesean mad with ww bread crubs and pasta), some veggie.
Lots of water.
Talitha, congrats to you on an awesome job.Boy you have determination and willpower. Steak & Shake and Mexican. You go girl.
Ellen, your day with your GS sounds like fun. How nice of your SIL to to do yard work. Hopeyou can get your BS regulated soon. I can't imagine the walking not helping. Hope you stay dry today from the hurricane.
Toni, Surely another doctor can call you with the test results. Nov is a long time to wait. We have Direct. I finally cut out all the movie channels. Especially during the summer. We don't watch much TV anyway. The only thing is they seem to go up every month. But that is with any of them.
Crystle, I had a fracture in my 3rd metatarsal about 3 months ago. One Sat I was not wearing the boot thinking it was much better and my foot slipped out of the sid eof my flip flop and I twisted it and broke it. So now I have 6 more weeks of the boot. It it is not better they will have to operate and use pins. I did hurt it again this Sa when I stepped off my patio into the yard while i was watering my flowers. I hope I didn't do anything bad. I go back next week and should have another 3 weeks to go. Hope you enjoyed your lazy weekend.

Checking in ladies. Life is not good here. Ellen is very down. I went back to the doctor yesterday. I had already spent a good deal of time thinking and considering what I knew she was going to say. I am maxed out on meds, walking and eating carefully is not helping. My A1C was high and my fasting blood glucose levels scary. I came home with a script for Insulin. I started it last night and was disappointed to see no improvement this morning. Give it time, I guess..... I asked the doctor if she had a diet she recommended, and she gave me a brochure on meal planning for diabetics. Totally useless.....it contained nothing I found helpful.
SOLLY: Keep that boot on! Eat plenty of calcium rich and vitamin C rich foods to stimulate bone healing. I had seen you mention the boot, and had not caught what happened...thanks for 'splaining again!
TONI: I hear ya! Lets get back on the straight and narrow so Talitha doesn't decide to start kicking butt! She is all muscles now.... Plan meals and don't buy bad stuff! That is my mantra!
COUNTRY: I find it hard to go to events and not eat, but with the blood sugar issues, I am finding it easier and easier. I miss that perfect control I used to have...How I wish I could find it canned or something. ((hugs))
Time for lunch here...then I need to shove off to the store and fill my prescriptions.

Ellen- I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time health wise. Its sounds like you're doing everything you can.
Solly-I sure hope you don't have to have surgery. Sounds like your Grandbaby is a handful. Mine used to be so colic too. Hope your eating is going good still.

Well think I'll drag my lazy self to the bedroom and get the bed made up.....
Have a happy day....

Good afternoon ladies
Today was a trip to my RA doc. She said I was a mess. She suggested something that I can't get into right here now but hopefully soon if it works out.
My shingles are very painful yesterday and today, but I attribute it to the bra. Wish I could go w/o but I did that all last week and I felt very frumpy if you know what I mean.
I spent the night with my DD and got up with the baby at 4:30. Her DH was on night work and even though she can manage by herself, I hate it for her being there by herself at night. Plus I enjoyed being with him and her. The baby was much better yesterday. She bought a Dr Brown's bottle. I had never heard of them. They have a tube in them which is supposed to cut down on the air. Don't know if it was the bottle or if he is turning the corner some. We sat outside and he just looked around while I talked to him for about 45 minutes. He is starting to coo and smile some. I really like it when they start doing "something".
Ellen, I am so sorry about the insulin. I always thought a diabetic diet was pretty much just like SB. I know my freind lost a lot of wt but here levels did not come down drastically. Give it some time. It will surely get better. I like your mantra. Planning is important. Oh, can you post the recipe for the ww bisquits. They are my favorite thing, especially with gravy on them :fr:
Toni, I wish I could figure out why we can't eat what we are supposed to. Actually, I know why, the bad stuff taste so much better and we can't choose better for you over good tasting. I weighed at the dr today with my shoe and boot on. I never would do that, but I just didn't care today. I can't really figure this out, as for the last 6 weeks my eating has been horrible and I even had a huge Mexican meal on sunday to where I was miserable, but the scale has stayed the same. Normally, I would be up 15 pounds by now. It sorta worries me.
Crystle, hope you got some rest and are having a great day.
Off to log my food at Sparks. Eating is still good. Dinner tonight is pot pie. I normally use ww pie crust but did not have one. But it still should be within my calories. Hoping to make it to the gym for awhile tonight. Have a great evening.

Man I just can't believe how hard we're all struggling. I wonder if its the time of year or what.
Solly
08-19-2009, 03:35 PM
Toni, you would think with all the fruits and veggies this time of the year it would be easier. I really don't think it comes down to a time. I think we have to really want it more than food. I guess it boils down to choices. We have bad food ingrained in us from way back and that is what we choose.
The scale was down this morning into a new set of numbers. I will wait until Friday for the official weigh-in to post it and change my ticker. Two days of eating and 2 days of making it to the gym, even though I am not breaking a sweat at the gym. I guess it is better than nothing.
Hope everyone is having a great day. off to log in my food.

Sorry I didn't make it to the board yesterday. The scales and I are at odds right now. Probably because of poor eating. What's so stinky is it's not horrible eating just bad eating and I gain and gain and gain. I thought seriously about not coming back to the board but decided you are guys are just what I need to jump start me. Today has been a good eating day.
Solly...I'm so glad your grand baby is feeling better. It's so hard when they cry and you can't comfort them. My nephew had colic when he was a baby.
Ellen...((hugzz)) I'm so sorry that your levels are not good. Hang in there. My sister kept pushing 300 to 500 and they couldn't get it to go down. It's finally getting at better levels. I think sometimes you just have to find the thing that works for you. Praying that God will help you find just the right combination.
Toni...don't feel bad. I won't list my transgressions this week. I should have never made beef and dumplings and then chicken and dumplings the next night. :) Had to make foods that would stretch. Boy were they good.
Talitha...hope you are having a super week.
I think I will grind some wheat so I have no excuses to eat the white products.
I'm praying ya'll have a great rest of the day.

Thanks Toni. I"m staying put. It's just so much easier to share successes than failures. But that is the nature of weight loss for me. Good years and bad years. I'm hoping and praying that the good years are on the way.. :) Today was a GREAT day. I stayed totally legal, probably ate a bit much. Breakfast was onions, celery, broccoli and butternut sautéed in a little olive oil with some fresh tomato on the side. My whole family actually ate the same thing. That really helps. Lunch was high in calories. I had cheese and lunch meat. Dinner was London Broil, portabella, sautéed zucchini, and a side salad. I'm stuffed like a tick. I also snacked on a few grapes here and there...maybe five or six. :)
Love and hugs,

I fell like a board hog.. :) I got a wonderful surprise when I weighed in this morning. I was 184. After yesterday's shocking high I'm excited. I'm not gonna bother with the ticker because it's close enough. LOL Eating has been fine this morning. Kind of a munching morning. I made my hubby ham with zucchini and squash and sampled while I plated his food.
Hope ya'll have a GREAT weekend. Be encouraged, we're still in it to win it. You are all awesome and such a joy to be on this journey with.

Hi ladies,
Well it is WIF (weight in Friday) like Talitha suggested. I am happy to report that the scale is still down to 177. I haven't seen that number in awhile. Can't explain why it is down with all the bad eating for the last 5 weeks, but I will take it.
Crystle, don't you even think about leaving us. That would be like never talking to one of your friends again and not getting the support that you need when you are down. One day at a time. That is all I am looking at right now. Hang in there.
Toni, Yum! BBQ is my favorite thing. Have you tried SP fries. I buy them already made, but you could makeyour own. Yummy! We will probably have bbq tomorrow at my great niece's birthday party. But no cake for me. It will be the snacks and wine that will be giving me fits. But I will try to be good. My DD is doing WW and she is being really good, so maybe that will help.
Where is everyone?
Only plans for the weekend is the party tomorrow and then we are baby sitting for a few hours.

Hello Ladies! I have had a terrible week, full of ups and downs emotionally. The new script for insulin is not helping my blood sugar levels, so I don't know what the next step is. I am eating well...so its extra frustrating to be doing things right and still not see results. I don't know why this surprises me. I ate perfectly for years and never lost a pound. I am just tired of it all, and want it to go away.
In more cheerful news, my grandson came over yesterday to play for a bit. What a ray of sunshine he is! :)
Off to run errands!

The beans came out great. We had brown rice with them. My mom also made beans so when I went to visit her yesterday I had beans two more times. Good thing I digest them well.. :) Today is a slow day so I'm sitting here drinking my skim coffee milk. It's so much more tasty with two percent milk but I'm being a good girl.
Ellen...((hugzz)) Hang in there. I can only imagine how discouraging it can be at times. But you WILL get this figured out. Have you ever tried adding the cinnamon capsules to your plan or aloe juice?

Hi ladies,
Hope everyone is doing well. Weekend was ok. Eating was about 80% on plan. Weight has stayed the same. Got to have my grandson all Saturday and Saturday night. That was a picker-upper.
Back to the foot doctor today. Still broken but healing. Still have to use the bone stimulator 3 hrs a day and wear the boot for at least 3 more weeks. I a bummed. Don't know why, cause I knew it would be this. Just glad it is some better so we don't have to do surgery.
Ellen, I am so sorry for your ups and downs. I would think there was something that can be done to regulate your blood sugar Have you called the office and checked with them. Maybe it just takes time. Hang in there. You are right about those grandbabies. They sure akeyour troubles go away for awhile.
Toni, How neat is Skype. I just saw a commercial for that last night. That is just awesome that you can talk to your son everyday. I would be for sure. That hyas to make it a little easier to bear.
Crystle, beans beans and more beans. Your hubby must love you a lot. ha-ha. We must have been posting at the same time last Friday. Congrats on your weight-in. Glad you were pleasantly surprised.

Just call me a turkey. I am stuffed. :turkey: :) Lunch was...are you ready..yes none other than beans...LOL Good thing I like leftovers. I threw in some raw onions, fresh tomato and topped all of it off with cayenne pepper. To top off a great meal I'm washing it down with an ice cold glass of tea. Breakfast was sparse so I really enjoyed lunch. Dinner is going to be lasagna and salad. Right now I can't imagine being hungry enough to enjoy it but there is no doubt by the time dinner gets here I'll be ready. It's not too often I don't have room for a meal. :)
Solly...I am so sorry that you are battling with feeling down. ((Big Giant Hugs)) How awesome you got to spend time with your grand baby. I'm looking forward to Mavericks arrival. He won't replace Lilly but I think it will help with the loss of not being able to see her very often.
Toni...where you at today? Are you having a super day? If not I hope it gets tons better.
Bob...sure miss your sense of humor and the spice you add to the board.
Talitha...how are you and your precious little ones?
My boys are getting rowdy..that means they want my attention. Catch ya'll later.

Howdy.... Had company from Colorado today. We've been waiting all week end for them to come by. I made (and you're going to laugh) a big pot of beans and cornbread. They loved them and ate well and then had to take off. Glad they went with full bellies. The time was short but it was so nice.
Ellen- I'm so sorry you're having such a bad time with your blood sugar. When do you go back to the doctor?
Solly- Darn 3 weeks. I know you must be miserable. Glad you got to have that grandbaby. You aren't spoiling him are you?
Crystle- Yea for beans. They're so good for you.... Think I'll freeze mine for next week.
Think I feel a nap coming on in my big chair. Jackson is already sound asleep.

Good morning. I don't know about ya'll but I love the ends of the banana nut bread. :) Yesterday I had bananas going bad so I made four loaves. Good news is I only ate the ends off of one loaf. I cut them thin and added butter. Oh they were so good. Other than that I had a good eating day.
Toni..how fumy you had beans also. I see a new eating trend..LOL How nice that you got to visit with your friends.

Got tons of things I should be doing this morning. Hope ya'll have a SUPER day.

Not much going on here at the old homestead.... I'm resting up from having company yesterday so am sort of lazy. Thawing out pork chops for dinner, think I'll have that with a baked sweet potato and a small salad.
Crystle- Oh wow banana bread means danger for me. I love, love, love, it. I wouldn't be able to stop eating it at the heels.
Solly- Hope you're having a good day.....
Ellen-Hows the blood sugar?
Talitha- Where are you?

Morning! I walked with my neighbor this morning, as we usually do, then took my basket down to the fig tree and spent some time picking figs. I will make another batch of low sugar fig perserves when I get back from lunch. I am going to meet a young friend from church for lunch at the Chinese place we like. She just got married a few weeks ago, and just got back from her honeymoon trip to Brazil! I am looking forward to hearing all her stories.
Yesterday I actually saw some good numbers when I checked my blood sugar, so I am having a bit of hope here. This morning was not great, but I will see what happens when I check this afternoon.
My mother in law is coming to visit tomorrow, so I have tons to do to be ready for her. She will stay until Sunday afternoon. I hope she gets to see both the babies....my daughter and her husband already had some plans, and HIS mother is keeping the baby. They said they would try and come by when they got back. If she were not leaving on Sunday it would be easy to have everyone here for dinner on Sunday. sigh
I need to go get ready to go to lunch!

Just checking in. All is going okay. Went to the doctor cause my back is out and he gave me some pills. If its not better by Friday I have to go back for exrays. I hate taking more pills.
Ellen- I'm so happy you're doing a bit better. Hopefully it will continue.
Where are the rest of ya?????????????????????????????
Off to make some leftovers for dinner....

Sorry I have MIA, we have been super busy and I was not in the mood to post.
Those great numbers on the scale magically disappeared. I weighed on Monday and was up 10 lbs. I move the scale around on the floor and got all kinds of differen numbers. So I guess I really don't weigh 177 back at 183 this morning. Bummer.
Still fighting the pain of the shingles. It is so hard to wear a bra. But obviously I need one. ha-ha
Crystle, sounds like beans are the meal of choice here. I love them too. I could easily make a meal out of them. Meat is so disgusting to me lately that maybe I will turn to beans.
Toni, sorry about your back. Did you do something to cause it? I know what you mean about the pills. I take so many each day plus all the vitamins. Some mornings, I just can't do it. Now I may have to add something like Fosamax. I had to do a 24 urine collection to see if I am losing calcium. My bone density test was good so they are baffeled about the fracture.
Ellen, I know how much you love those visits from your MIL. I am glad your numbers are looking better. Maybe it will just take time. I hope your MIL gets to see the grandbabies. It would be a shame if she didn't.
We have a bid tomorrow so I had better get busy with all my forms. have a great day.

Good afternoon Sugar Busters... Just had a great peach. Eating has been good today. I hope I can do well at dinner. I've thawed out some hamburger to make patties out of. Think I'll have it with baked sweet potato and maybe a salad or cauliflower with it.
Solly- That stinks about the 10 lbs. Sounds like you need a new scale. I can't believe you still have the shingles. Ouch.... I hope you get to feeling better soon. Guess I must have just pulled my back out. But I think these awful pills are working. LOL
Guess I'll go and have a cup of tea.

Hello Ladies!
My mother in law had to cancel her trip up here due to the death of a family friend. She was in Nova Scotia on a trip a few months back when the husband died, so she was not going to miss the wife's funeral. She will reschedule at a later date.
I had some good numbers in my blood sugar levels yesterday...I am hoping for a repeat today. I can't tell you why...its just weird. I will wait a few more days, and if it is not improving at least some, I am going to call the doctor.
My grandson is sick with some kind of flu. Poor baby.
This morning it was pouring rain, but my neighbor and I walked with umbrellas! Aren't you all proud of me? I felt so dedicated! AND it was fun!
SOLLY: I hope the shingles start to subside soon... ((hugs)) You have so much going on! Sounds to me like you need a vacation.
TONI: Mmmm...I want some fresh peaches!
COUNTRY: I love beans! I don't digest them all that well...but beans and rice is SO good!
I am meeting Tom for lunch today...first time in months and months! ...I better get off here and get going! I think we are going to a Thai place.

Its a beautiful day here in Missouri. For a change we're having wonderful weather for Aug. Can't believe fall is almost here. We're deciedeing whether to bring our wood stove in for the winter or try to just burn propane this year again. Its so expensive now and we can get wood for cheap. But its so messy. Anyway eating has been so so. It could be better. Right now I'm having a cup of hot tea and its so good. Thawing out a pork tenderloin to put on the grill tonight.
Ellen- Woopie for you to have better numbers..... I remember when you and Tom had lunch lots. Thats so neat. Hope your Grandson is better.
Hope everyone is having a great week end....

Hi girls. I just signed up for this web site. First I want to Thank all of you for all of your inspiration that you have already given me. It is funny how you can sometimes get it in your head that you are the only going thru certain eating battles. I do struggle with eating too much sugar and too many carbs. I constantly struggle with making the right choice. I always seem to be convincing myself that I deserve a treat. I think, when I was a kid someone was always making my decisions as to what to eat. Now that I am a grown up, I don't want anyone telling me what to eat. I want to eat whatever I want. But I have finally realized that I need to grow up and start making the right choices. I know it won't be easy giving up sugar especially, but I REALLY need to do it. I can totally feel the changes in my body when I eat sugar and carbs. I feel like junk. I know this, but yet I keep punishing my self. For instance, just today, I ate about 3/4 a sleeve of girl scout cookies. I now have a headache. And how dumb is it that you are satisfied for the 5 - 10 minutes while you are eating something, but yet you can suffer for hours afterwards. Not a very smart choice. Anyways, I look forward to kicking this sugar/carb habit with the support of your girls. Thank you in advance for that.

Hi Juge-:welcome: Its good to have you on board. You will feel so much better when eating right. Hang in there and posts lots and ask questions....
Juge
08-30-2009, 11:05 AM
Thanks Toni. I think this support group is EXACTLY what I need. I have realized that eating right, working out and making the right choices are really up to me. Yes you can have support in these areas, but I am the only one that can put something in my mouth or get out and get moving.
But this support group I think will be different for me. I have tried to have support groups with family and friends, but we were all too easy on each other. I think that this support group is something that I have decided to do on my own. And I feel like I can be completely honest with everyone here. Maybe because no one knows me. I have nothing to hide.
My first question for everyone is; What does everyone eat for breakfast. I feel like that is the hardest meal to eat well. For lunch and dinner, I can eat a salad, meat and vegetables. But breakfast is a stumper for me. I have been eating eggs, that come in the pour carton. They are 99% egg whites. I don't mind them, but I just don't want to eat them every morning. So I would love suggestions from anyone.
Have a great day.

Juge- You're sure right its your choice what you put in your mouth. It does really help to have a group of people that know what you're going through and are going through the same thing. Sorry the board is slow on the week end. But there's a bunch of great ladies here.
I eat oatmeal, cereal, fruit, yogurt, eggs, 100% whole wheat toast or english muffins for breakfast. Today is a 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg omelet with salsa and lean ham in it. Along with a piece of toast and a peach. Sometimes I'll eat leftovers from dinner for breakfast.
I try and follow the Sugar Busters book. No white flour, white rice, sugar, lean meats, plenty of veggies and whole grains, and fruit. If you don't have the book try your library or ebay. I've found it used at Amazon. Its a good way of eating.

Morning! After a sleepless night, I can't in good conscience add the good in front of that. Too honest! ;)
Not sure what all is up today. I do have a friend coming over tonight to learn how to make tamales. We had a tamale party yesterday and all the kids were over. It was fun...they are not legal on Sugarbusters, so I eat them very sparingly...but they are pretty good, and great for freezing for the guys to eat.
One thing I intend to do today is make a batch of low sugar peach jam. I think making jam is SO easy! And fun! I use the no or low sugar pectins, and cut the sugar from 8 cups to 2. They taste fantastic! Nice and fruity instead of syrupy and sugary!
:welcome: Juge! Glad to have you here! I eat cereal, eggs, oatmeal, or leftovers for breakfast. One of the best I have had recently was chicken and brown rice. Do you use the carton eggs for omelets? You can make frittatas with them too. I like making them because you can just toss in anything and let it cook. I usually put the pan in the oven or toaster oven (depending on the time of year...no oven in the summer is our policy!) to cook the top. I use cheese and mushrooms, and whatever else I have on hand that I feel like tossing into it. Turns out pretty good!

Darn I wish I were at Ellen's for a tamale making session. I've always wanted to do that. Well instead we're having spaghetti with pesto and Italian sausage and a green salad. Probably garlic bread for the hubby. Got beautiful weather today. The high was 72. You just can't beat that.
Ellen- You'll be tired tonight. Hope sometime you get to take a little nap.
Juge- Hope you're having a good Monday.
Solly- How are the shingles and foot? Guess you must be busy today....
Crystal- Hope you had a good week end....

Howdy ya'll! My computer went down and I'm finally getting up and running again. I sure missed ya'll. The scales are still up...about 186 give or take a pound..errr :) But that's that happens when you aren't eating right. I'm about 50/50 on eating right. Some days are GREAT and others are not so good, not sweets but white rice or hashbrowns..those kind of things.
Welcome Juge! These ladies are the best. They have been with me through my downs and my now ups. :) Breadkfast around here can be very non traditional. We eat a lot of different veggies combinations. The other day we had asparagus, pepper, onions and eggs.
Toni...we are going to use a wood stove this year. Trying to keep up with the propane is a hassle and the stove that we got has a glass front so you can watch the fire and a blower to help spread the heat. Our friends have one and it works really well with very little wood compared to their fireplace. We are hoping to get more heat at a lower cost.
Ellen...hope your day is getting better. Those tamales sound wounderful. My hubby doesn't eat them so we rarely have them in the house. Me, on the other hand love them. My daughter's mother in law makes them every Christmas. I just need to figure out how to get on her list..LOL
Solly...hope you are having a great week. How is your foot?
The pressure cooker is done so I'd better get in there and finish dinner.
Ignore the poor spelling...the spell check won't load...LOL Now I'll have to look closer for typos. :)

Hi Ladies. You sure do sound like a fun group. Thank you for all of your help with breakfast. I find it interesting that some of you eat leftover dinner for breakfast. I think I might try that.
I have a question for each of you. What would you say is your favorite legal sugar busters meal for dinner? I am trying to put a group of great dinners together. I really want to eat right, but it needs to be tasty.
I made an awesome taco salad for dinner last night and had leftovers tonight. It was completely legal.
I really need eat right this time. And I think I can do it if I put forth the effort of finding/making tasty meals.
I do have the sugar busters book. I need to dig it out and wipe the dust off and read it again. About 7 years ago my doctor recommended it to me. Dummy me, I went to the doctor back then in the beginning of December and was on put on the sugar busters diet for a month per doctors orders. Which made Christmas very, very hard. Anyways I did it. I lost 10 pounds in a month. I didn't cheat one time. But every since then I have pretty much been selfish with my eating habits.
Ellen I love tamales. There is this little hole in the wall in Indianapolis called "The Tamale Place". They have been making really authentic tamales for over 60 years. It takes them 2 whole days to make a tamale. They are out of this world. Yum. Totally not legal, but I will eat one every once in a blue moon.
Thanks again for all of your suggestions. Have a great day tomorrow.:)

Sitting here with my first cup of coffee. The is usually just one cup but this may be a two cup morning it taste so good. :) I have a success to share. Last night I made himemade not from a box chocolate cake that didn't have the texture of sand and I only ate two bites. Now the frosting that's a different story. I did have a few licks, but overall a success with goodies staring me in the face. Supper was london broil I had put in the pressure cooker with crushed tomatoes, onions, peppers, jalapeno, cumin, chili power, garlic and salt served over brown rice with a side of corn/black beans with peppers and onions. It was all very tasty. There wasn't any meat left over so I'm gonna the left over broth and cook a small batch of beans in it for another meal without having to add extra fat for flavor.
I hope ya'll have a super day.
Love and hugs,

Hello! The tamales last night with pork were the best yet! I need to stop making them because they are NOT legal! There is no way around that corn meal! Honestly though, since I check my blood sugar regularly, I find I get less increase from corn then I do from wheat!
I am tired today...but I got up this morning and walked at 7:30 with my neighbor. It helps SO much to have a good, persistent walking buddy! Most mornings, if it were not for the threat of her ringing the door bell soon, I would NOT get up and dressed and out there! She has applied for a job, and its perfect for her so I hope she gets it. But then, I selfishly hope she doesn't!
Not much going on around here today. I need to go to the bank, so I better get moving!

Having my first cup of coffee too. I forgot to start the pork roast in the crockpot so guess it will be a tomorrow meal. Maybe tonight is leftovers. Has to be easy cause my Big Brother comes on and hubby gets home at 7 for his work break. I'm out of most of my fruit and need some so bad. Our little store in town didn't have anything that sounded good to me. Guess I have to wait till this Friday when we go shopping.
Crystle- Good for you. Resisting homemade chocolate cake is really something. You're getting stronger. Keep it up!!
Ellen- Oh no I hope you don't lose your walking partner. You're doing so good. I'm in total tamale envy.
Juge-Wow I love taco salad. I love chicken breast cut up on a salad too. Of course I love anything Mexican. Can't think of what my favorite meal is but I'll keep thinking.

Hi ladies, Sorry I have MIA Lots going on.
We have been busy here and then Sat my aunt passed away and that has been a fiasco. So glad all that mess is over. She is at peach and pain free so I am happy for that. Eating has been crappy to say the least. I start off good and then something comes up and out to eat we go and it's down hill. Plus this mess has had me down and that just adds to it all.
Toni, yes I still have some pain from the shingles. They are better but I believe it flares up when I wear a bra. So I try to go w/o as much as I can :fr: Hope your back is better.
Ellen, yes I am so proud of you for walking in the rain. I hope you don't lose your walking buddy. Sure hope your GS is better. That is so hard on the little guys. You are going to laugh, but the only tamales I like come from a can. I don't like the ones in the Mexican restaurants. And yes, I DO need a vacation.
Crystle, Beans again? WTG on passing up the cake. See, we can do it. Foot is the same. I go back to the doc on the 12th and we will see then. I sure hope I can ditch this boot.
Judge, Welcome to our group. It sure is a great group of ladies. Some of us have been around for many years. If we are not losing weight, we have formed a great friendship. I'm thinking on that favorite dinner yet. Ditto on the breakfast foods what everyone else said. I never cheated whn I started this WOE and I lost over 100 lbs. I gained some back during chemo and since then have never got back on the straight and narrow again. So my advice, don't cheat, it becomes to easy once you do.
We have yet another bid today, so I must run. Have a great day.

But once the 11th hits I intende to be more active here as I work on hitting 160 by christmas :)

Hi you lazy ladies, just kidding.
Nothing going on her major. Spent the night with my DD last night as the baby had a bad day, crying the whole day. I think she was frustrated. So I got about 3 hours sleep on top of being up late the 2 nights before with her. I hope to get to bed early tonight.
Talitha, I must have missed it, I assume you won the competition. Watch out, they will be gunning for you the next time. You have done great and I know you will reach your 160 goal by Dec. Good idea on the blog. I like was Talitha makes too.
Ellen, sorry you have a cold. Little ones just seem to pass it around don't they. Happy anniversary. We just had our 36th this year (it got swept under the rug with the baby stuff) but not only do I not feel that old, that just sounds like a long time with someone. More than half my life.

Hope your week end is going good. Ours has been so nice. Today I'm cooking a big pot of fresh green beans. We're going to grill steaks later, with mushrooms and onions, fresh green beans, and homegrown tomatoes All I've had to eat today is a fresh peach, rye toast and a tiny bowl of green beans. We also bottled up some plum wine we made. Lots done.
Ellen- Happy belated anniversery. That sucks to be sick on your special day. I hope you're resting well. And feel better.
Solly- How are you feeling? Between the shingles and that foot. Are you playing with that Grandbaby today?
Crystal-How'd the gumbo turn out? That sounds so good. Guess I've never had any chicken gumbo. But it sounds like I would like it.
Guess I'll go and get the mushrooms ready. Sorry for the misspelled words I can't get the spell check to work on this old computer of DH....

Happy Labor Day, Ladies! Its been a bit of a food fest here. This morning we were invited to breakfast at our Jamaican's friends house. They made a traditional Jamaican breakfast...it was incredible...very different. Then we had a young single mom over for dinner with her three kids. She goes to our church and is going to join, so Tom was doing the membership interview for her. It was fun. Her two girls are sweet, and she has a year old adopted son from Ethiopia. He was abandoned, so had some problems with poor nutrition etc. until he was adopted a few months ago. I made a simple dinner, but we all ate too much. Now I feel stuffed and miserable. I had chicken in a teriyaki sauce, grilled, fried home grown okra, homegrown tomatoes, and rice.
I wanted to check in...will try and spend more time on here later...

BAck from the beauty shop with a new permanet. I'm curley now. And so much better. Ran in the house starving because I only had a piece of sausage and a piece of rye toast for breakfast. So I made me a sandwich of turkey and mustard on whole wheat toast. Now I've had enough bread for the day. I've got to get some exercise in. My poor treadmill is so covered up in the backroom its almost overwhelming to get it out. But I've got to.

Hey me, 2 days in a row to the gym :cheer: Today I rode the bike for 30 minutes. It wasn't easy with this boot on my foot, but I did it. My chest and arms are sore so I opted for some cardio. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to do weights again. Eating is good. I had too many snacks yesterday, but they were all legal and I was starving. Today is a little more in line.
Toni, aka curly top, Glad you are liking your new perm. That is something I have avoided since my youth. I have a dab of curl in the left side of my hair, but perms seem to kink up on me. Start digging on the :tread: You will be glad you did.

Good afternoon. Eating has been fairly well the last two days. Lunch wasn't SB legal but it was not that many calories and what I wanted. Potato salad with diet mayo and pickled beets. The beets turned it a funny pink color but they taste good in it. Breakfast was just an ice coffee. :) Dinner will probably be brisket, okra and pinto beans. I wouldn't be having beans again so soon but I cleaned out the freezer and a pack tore open so I figured why not..LOL
Solly..WTG on the exercise. That is the one main thing I'm missing these days. It is so nice to hear how much you are getting to visit your grand baby.
Toni..I bet your hair looks so cute. I LOVE curls but I quit getting perms about 5 years ago. Sometimes I'm tempted then I remember how hard it is to pick out my hair. One time when I went to get it cut it had gotten long and my daughter had to pick it out for the lady halfway so she could just cut the bottom off. I used to dye also. Boy do I miss that as the gray is coming in thicker everyday. :)
Ellen...hope all is well with you and yours.
Talitha...you smearing all your competition? How is the blog coming?
Guess I'd better finish playing onlne so I can get back to my crochet. Talk about ugly..LOL I'm using doubled up remnants of thread to make a really heavy throw or rug depending on how many scraps there are. I'm teaching the kids that functionality isn't based on beauty but strength and design.

What a wonderful day in the woods. It rained a soft and nice rain today. And now the sun is out and I was watching a squirrel play and gather acorns in the big oak tree outside. I had a perfect view from the front door window. Eating has been good today. Oatmeal for my 12:00 breakfast. (remember hubby works nights) and then for a snack I had a skinny cow ice cream sandwich. I'll have a nice salad later and maybe some barbecued pork.
Solly- You're such an inspiration, exerciseing with that boot on your foot. Thats amazing. Keep up the good work. Eating sounds good too. You're on your way to a good week. Yes you're right about the treadmill. Maybe when Steve goes to work tomorrow I can start on it.
Crystle- You're like me "love those beans" and they're so good for you. I finally let my hair go gray. So I'm one of the silver heads. LOL Wish I could make a rug. Thats way to cool you doing that.
Well off I go to investigate the boards here.

hey ladies. Just checking in. The next round of my competition starts tomorrow, and I'll have a good bit of work moderating. My goal is to be in the top 5.
As of this morning I was at 174.0 which is down .6 from when I won. I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to maintain at ALL. So I'm pretty proud of myself even if it is just a month holding steady. As of tomorrow I get serious about eating and exercise again so that I can get to my final goal. :) At 160 I actually will be an 8 and even be able to wear some 6s. I know it makes no sense. But I think that's the right size for me. I don't want to be a solid 6. I don't think I could maintain it. We'll see!
So who's weighing in with me tomorrow and getting their butts in gear for the holiday season??? Come on. You can be your own gift!

Talitha, I'm with you. I'm back to the gym and if I get this boot off soon I will start back with my trainer. Good luck to you. I know you ca do it.
Toni, Found that :tread: yet? The temps have been so moderate here and I imagine the same with you. It's hard to think of it as summer. I am afraid what winter will bring.
Crystle, You are one talented lady, cooking, crocheting, teaching. You can do it all. You amaze me.
Nothing going on here. I did not go to the gym this morning, but brought my clothes to go right after work. I was exhausted last night and went to bed early. Eating is good so far. Off to the foot doc this afternoon to see if my foot is better. It may be better, but I knw I won't get the boot off today.
Have a great evening.

Good afternoon. I'm having a cup of white tea. Its so good and smells so good. Soon it will really be tea drinking weather. All is fine here. I ate badly at breakfast and its kind of colored my day. Even though I'm trying not to focus on it. We're having pork steaks and salad for dinner. DH is going to grill them. Not the best thing but grilling will help.
Solly- Looks like this week end will be a better time for me to dig out the treadmill. This day is flying by and tomorrow I have an appointment with a dermotolgist. Hope you get to work out a bit this evening. How much longer for the boot?
Talitha- Wow thats so good maintaining your weight for a month. Good luck on the contest. You should make a good moderaitor.
Hey Crystle and Ellen. What are you all doing?

Good afternoon. Today has been a very good eating day. A little on the low side so I'm getting hungry. Hopefully I won't engorge myself this evening. I'm trying a new recipe for bread that you don't have to knead. We'll see how it comes out either later or tomorrow. You make the dough and it holds up to a week in the fridge if it's wheat and two weeks if it's white flour. Mine is all whole wheat.
Talitha...wtg on maintaining and the slight loss.
Solly...you are so sweet. Praying your get a good report from your doctor.
Toni...Tea sounds good. I'm waiting on the cooler weather. Tea and soup season is a favorite of mine...and chili and stew...LOL
Ellen...((hugzz)) hope you are having good numbers with your sugar levels.

Hi ladies,
Well today is WIF, and I am at 183 today. I'll take since Tuesday I was at 192. That was enought to scare me into eating and exercising. Hope I can make it thru the weekend. DH offerd to take me out to eat last night, but I declined and we ate spaghetti instead. Tonight I will take him up on it.
No plans for the weekend. The foot doc said 2 1/2 more weeks and then I should be able to go to a hard sole shoe. We will see. I want to be able to walk in the breast cancer walk (3 miles) on Oct 10th.
Toni, I love hot tea just about any time. Hope you can dig out the :tread; this weekend. WE are never going to eat perfectly at every meal. I think it is so important not to let that affect the rest of your meals. I know that is a big problem of mine that I need to work on. One bad choice every now and then wil not hurt our efforts if we can get right back on track with the next meal. So don't beat yourself up about your breakfast. I am trying hard to realize that mysef.
Crystle, I can smell your bread from here. Hope it turns out. Good job on your eating.
Ellen, how are you doing today? We are missing you.
Bob, you got everyone back on here and now you take off. Come on back.
Talitha, anxious to see how your WIF went.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Back from the doctor and am so tired. He froze a couple of places on my face. I have to call him in 4 to 6 weeks if the spots aren't gone. We ate mexican food so it wasnt the best choice. Think I have to go rest. Maybe I'll be back later.

Having a lazy Sunday today. Eating has been good. Had a bacon and tomato sandwich on ww toast for breakfast/lunch today. We're going to grill steaks for dinner and have a salad with that. Wish I had some squash to go with it. Guess I'll go in and wrap a box for son in Iraq. Hope you're all having a good day.

Hi ladies,
Where is everyone, Poor Toni is all alone here.
Toni, WTG girl getting out that :tread: Slow and steady is the way.
Finally got back to the gym this week. I am always glad I went when I leave, but getting up and getting there is so hard.
We got some great news today. The court for terminating the birth mother's rights was today. So that is such a relief. We don't have to worry any more. I sure don't see how we could ever have to give him back anyway. I am so thankful to that girl. I think and pray for her every day.
Not much going on here. Talk to you all (hopefully more) tomorrow.

Howdy..... I'm sad to say I didn't get to start on my treadmill yet. I may still tonight but today has been so busy. Eating has been good. Another bacon, tomato sand. on whole wheat bread for breakfast/lunch. And a small hamburger patty with a large salad with homegrown tomatoes and cucumbers in it. I'm also having a couple of small glasses of wine. The Biggest Loser starts tonight. I love that show.
Solly- You're doing so good. Keep up the good work. I'm so happy for your precious Grandbaby.......

Believe it or not I had to take back the third tower. We went with a different brand this time. Praying this one works. :) I've been eating like I'm a skinny girl trying to put on weight..ugh. But this moment starts a new day right? I'm watching biggest loser and reminding myself that it takes desire and belief. I think I've been missing the believing part since it has been such a struggle.

Basic Recipe:
2 cups long-, medium- or short-grain brown rice
2-1/3 cups water
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 375 F and move a rack to the middle position.
Spread the rice into an 8-inch square, glass baking dish.
In a covered saucepan on the stove, bring the water and butter or oil to a boil over high heat.
Once it begins to boil, stir in the salt and pour over the rice and cover the baking dish tightly with a double layer of foil or tight fitting lid.
Bake for one hour, until tender. Remove from the oven and uncover.
Fluff the rice with a fork, cover with a clean kitchen towel; let rice stand 5 minutes.
Uncover for another 5 minutes, then serve immediately.
Serves 4 to 6.
Sometimes I slightly brown the rice in the oil and add sauteed mushrooms and onions to make a sort of pilaf. Chicken stock works well as a substitute for water.

Good afternoon ladies
Made it to the gym today. Sure didn't feel like it. Back hurt, neck hurt and was sick at my stomach. It was a struggle. "Things" going on at work so maybe that is why my stomach is upset.
Toni, I am so mad, I didn't realize the BL started lat night and only caught the last hour. I hate that I missed the introductions. I love, love that show. I'm going to join you with the wine tonight. We have bunco and a whole bottle won't be enough to get over this work crap.
Crystle, the thing the one guy said about he was destroying his life and chosing a hambruger over his children, made me think. I believe that is what we do everytime we overeat or make bad choices. We need to be more conscience when we go to make bad choices.

My DD wants to do a yard sale tomorrow so I have been gathering clothing and stuff no longer used in my house. I guess anything I make is better than nothing.
Toni, computers are the pits when they are not working. Hope you can get it fixed soon.
Crystle, better get rid of those sugar wafers. God job on your eating.

Oh wow is it Friday already?! DH had to work so we didn't get to shop. But I have lots of tomatoes and cucumbers to eat. But only 1 peach left. Hope we go tomorrow. Eating has just been so so. Tonight I made some kind of asian chicken in a package and it was awful. We only ate a few bites of it. Thats what I get for being lazy.
Crystle- Wow glad you're getting rain but know after a bit of it it can be depressing. We're supposed to get ours next week. Still a few problems with my laptop. Darn I'm tired of that.

Hi everybody, I'm sorry to tell you all that Meowee passed away this afternoon. She lost to a very aggressive and unexpected bout with cancer. We have a condolence thread going on here (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/diabetes-support/182218-meowee.html#post2934961). Please leave any thoughts you might want to share with her family. Hi ladies
It is raining here and expected to rain all week. We got about 4-5" just yesterday. I hope it tops by Friday, we are leaving for Del Hollow lake for 3 days on Friday. Beleive me, I am so ready to go and get away.
Eating was not good over the weekend. I just told my DD yesterday we need to figure out what to do. I am so tired of this.
I am trying to be good this week. I know eating over the weekend will not be good. No sense kiddig myself. So I have all week to figure this out.
Crystle, sounds like it is raining everywhere. We really needed it though. Our grass is like straw.
Toni, my fridge is almost empty too. I love it when I have a full fridge and have choices to make. Now I am struggleing trying to find things to eat for lunch and dinner.
We did great at our yard sale. Four of us made over $750. I made about $140 and my DD about $220. Of course, mine is almost gone. Took the family to dinner and bought DH some beer and other things.
Got to run and do some work. Yuk!

Solly...sounds like ya'll had a great garage sale. I love going to them. We went to the flea marker and found a few goodies yesterday. Hi ladies,
Let's tip this boar over and hit the ground running. We can do it. One day at a time.
Oh my Gawd, look what Old Smokie drug back in here.
Bob, so glad to see your post. Yes the game was a good one. Thought they might pull it out. The baby wore his UK outfit for our game and SIL changed him into his TN orange for their game. I doubt that UK will fare any better. We are a 23 point underdog. How have you been? Working yet? How is Kate? Please stay on here. We are dwindling quickly.
Happynow. I remember you. (I used to go by Jack-Kay). Glad to see you back. Shows you know where to come.
Now if we could only get Ellen posting again. Maybe if we all yell loud enough she will come.
Have a great day.
Toni, the BL is on tonight, maybe you can get some motivation from that. Been on the :tread: yet?
Crystle, Fry Baby, now what would be frying that is legal to eat? I used to have one of those. Maybe you bought mine!

Hello ladies! I was gone all last week to Jacksonville to visit with my young friends who moved there last year. I actually rode down with the wife and their baby to keep her company, then flew back on Saturday afternoon. My flight was delayed due to the rain here in Atlanta. The flight was coming from ATL to JAX, then back... My eating in JAX was good..my friend is quite the health food nut. The worst I did was french fries at lunch one day and fried seafood another day. I did not eat inbetween meals and my portions were good. I forgot to weigh to see if I lost... :(
We have had about 16 inches of rain here since Friday. The downtown expressway was closed due to flooding. Our pool was within an inch of overflowing. (it has a leak somewhere, and is slowly receding...) The yard is full of puddles, and the creeks and rivers are at flood stage and worse. It is way above the 100 year flood level - some of the worst ever recorded here. Some areas had in excessive of 20 inches over two days. We are very close to a few of them. Today, the sun came out and there is some blue sky. After over a week of rain, it is very welcome. I left beautiful sunny weather in JAX on Saturday, and flew into this mess.
I was terribly saddened to hear about Meowee. She was my co-mod and friend. I knew she was sick, but I never imagined her illness would progress so fast.
HAPPY: I remember you! You might remember me as Monet. I took over for Debelli when she dropped off the board, and modded for a while, then left about two years ago due to lack of time. I try and get here frequently and check in! Nice to have you back!
BOB: As I live and breathe, its BOB! Nice to see you! Now SIT! STAY!
I may be coming to Sarasota in a few months. Interested in meeting me face to face finally?
SOLLY: I heard ya! :) I was MIA due to my trip...but here I am! I need to be more regular, so feel free to nail my shoes to the floor in here.
TONI: Get on the treadmill! I have been walking every morning...rain or shine! It feels good! (my neighbor that I walk with is almost as crazy as I am...and she shows up in a poncho or with an umbrella...tells me a little rain is NO excuse! I LOVE it!)
COUNTRY:When we cleaned out my husband's uncle's house, we found two fryers that had never been used. A large one I gave to my son in law, and a fry baby I kept. I used it every day for a month or two, but have not pulled it out now for a while...good thing too! I was frying EVERYTHING! :) When I was looking at recipes for fried pickles, and snickers bars, I decided I needed to put some brakes on it! Haha!
Off to work on dinner! :grouphug:

Oh boy look at everyone! How encourageing. Its so good to see the board rolling. I'm just having a terrible time. I can't seem to get on the treadmill or even make it through a whole day of eating right. I'm going to try to get to doing better right now. DID YA HEAR ME I said right now! This very minute I vow to do better and quit messing around.
Crystle- Come on girlfriend we can do this! We've done it before and we can do it again. Reach way down and pull it up......
Bob- Woopie gal its good to see you. How are you feeling? How is Kate? I miss hearing from you so bad. Come on and join us again.....
Chris- I do remember you and its so good to have you back. Stay with us. We need each other.
Solly- WOO HOO can't wait for BL tonight. I really do hope to draw some inspiration from it. I ashamed to say that dang treadmill is still calling for me.

Well, I've got the gaining weight thing down pat. I hit over the 190 mark yesterday. I was crushed. Today is a new day right? I came to the board and saw so many familiar faces and fell very encouraged.
Bob...Hey you! Nothing in the garden right now. If the rain lets up I'm going to try and get my winter garden in. I'm a bit late but there are still several things I hope will take...my greens, beets, turnips, carrots and cabbage if I can find some plants.
Solly...I can't think of anything legal to fry but I fry for the guys. :) I don't fry often but when I do I hate to waste the oil. I did find a no-no that they just love and that was breaded fried grits. I wish I could say I didn't try them but I did.
Toni...WTG getting on that treadmill!!!! You rock. I think this afternoon I am going to get off my tootie and take a small walk. It's been over six months since I've done and serious walking.
Helen...Wow! That's a lot of rain.
HappyNow...welcome back! ((hugzz))
Talitha...if you're peeking in....hope you are doing well on your contest.

It felt so good to get out and walk yesterday. I had plans for today but so far it is rainy. Yuck. Water weight is gone so ticker is almost right. But I didn't like seeing the higher numbers and it really has motivated me. I don't want to gain back all that was lost. My biggest food struggle yesterday was saltines. There is one pack left in the house. I'll be SO glad when they are gone. It's funny the foods that are our "comfort" foods.
Toni...Hope you feel better soon. Soup sounds good. This cooler weather always makes me hungry for soups and gumbos.

No walking yesterday but I'm going to head out this afternoon. Talk about stiff. It's been a LONG time since walking has made me sore. I can feel it in my shins and my back. Eating has been going very well. There are things that are not SB legal but calories are within range and the no-no's are almost out of the house. :)
My ticker is accurate. I weighed in this morning for my weekly weigh in.
Is there anything ya'll would like to be shared that would make the board more fun or encouraging for you? I'm committed and able to be more active.
Ellen...I hear you about walking rain or shine. I used to have a walking buddy and we would slosh through the mud and keep on walking. By myself I just can't be that motivated. It's a bit muddy out there today but at least it isn't raining. It's cloudy though. We went all summer with no rain and now we are getting bits almost every day. It is so dry that even with all this rain the pond is still down by about 10 feet or so.
Toni...sure hope you feel better soon. I agree with you about the board. Maybe one of these days it will become very active again and need weekly changes. Wouldn't that be great. :)
Solly...don't you have plans this weekend? Hope you have a blast.
Happy and Bob...hope ya'll are still hanging around. It's great to see familiar faces.
((Everybody)) Praying you have a super weekend.
God bless,
Crystle

I hope ya'll don't mind another back to back post. This afternoon went really well. My youngest has decided to be my new walking buddy. That really helps the time to go by faster. We put in 30 minutes.
We're having turkey chili for dinner. I put too much sage in it but it is still edible. :) They are having cornbread and I"m going to finish off the offending saltines.
Do you have any plans for the weekend? We don't have any yet but some garage sales would be fun.
God bless,
Crystle

Steve is being a sweetie and making us grilled cheese on rye bread for dinner. But I sure could use a bowl of your turkey chili. I'm so happy Crystle you got you a walking buddy.

Hi Ladies! I could not sleep, as usual! :( I am having a meeting here tomorrow afternoon and I MUST clean up the pigsty! The kitchen table is covered with old mail....some of these ladies coming to the meeting have never been here. I don't mind if they know I am a clutter person, but there is TOO much! I hate cleaning! I really do!
Its supposed to rain heavily tomorrow. Not something we want to hear around here after last weeks flooding.
I made the BEST recipe for dinner tonight. I am eliminating gluten from my diet, to see if I feel better off it, so I re-did the recipe to make it gluten free, and was so pleased in how it turned out. It was a Pork Oscar- pork medallions sauteed, then topped with sauteed asparagus and mushrooms and Bearnaise sauce. Yum!
Off to try and sleep!

Happy Saturday..... I slept in today and am just having a good ole lazy Sunday. Glad I got my laundry done yesterday so I'm free today. I'm doing pretty good on the eating part of my week. And now to make it through the week end. Hopeing by Monday I can get back on the treadmill.
Ellen- Wow your dinner sounds so good. I hope that gluten free helps you. Between the walking and the eating good you're the star!!! Don't envy you with the clean up. Hope all goes well today.
Well I'm off to get food....... Be back later.....

Howdy ya'll. I am whooped. :) The winter garden is in. This year I am trying: beets, swiss chard, curly leaf mustard, collards, turnips, radish, carrots and broccoli. If I get to the store I'm also gonna look for some cabbages but I don't have that yet. It was so hot outside it felt funny planting for the winter. But the heat with give the seeds a good start before too cool of weather sets in.
Hope ya'll are having a super weekend.
God bless,

Well its been a good week end. I've tried to rest allot to get rid of this infection I have. DH has been a big help with meals etc. Tonight he grilled pork steaks and then I had sliced tomatoes and cucumber with it. This morning he fried bacon so I could make me a bacon and tomato sandwich.
Crystle- Wow what a day you've had. Thats so great you got a winter garden out. I hope you find your cabbage to go with it. It will be well worth the work. Yum!
Hope everyone had a nice week end.

MORNING LADIES,
I've been trying to post since last week....I had to buy a new computer and I swear I could understand Greek easier! The dang thing won't let me do anything that I want, download what I want etc....I hate change
I wanted to update y'all on Kate. She's just not doing well at all. My Brother thinks she has given up. I'm blaming the new meds from the hospital this summer. I took her to the Dr on Friday and they are weening her from one of them to see if that helps the mental status. She isn't eating or drinking enough to keep a bird alive. The Dr said to get her sugar free drinks like ensure and boost. I bought the one for Diabetics in the strawberry and cream flavor....it made her sick. I'm at my wits end and just don't know what to do.
I'll be back directly....

Hi everyone. Well here it is Monday and we have a new week. All is fine here and eating good.
Bob- I'm so sorry about Kate. I'll keep her and you too in my prayers and thoughts. Hope taking her off the med makes her rally around. Hope you get that computer going........ Aren't they a pain.
Better go get something out of the freezer for dinner.

Good afternoon. Not much going on today. Did a little cleaning earlier and just finished hanging the clothes on the line. It is so hot this afternoon. A front is coming through this afternoon and it should be nice and cool tonight. I did find a neat website off of the Rachael Ray show. They sell dry groceries like deoderant and things and offer coupons with free shipping. I ordered 18 items and barely spent over 14 so I was very happy. Plus I have enough shampoor for months..LOL
Bob...I am so sorry that Kate is not feeling very well. Praying that God will ignite that thing inside of her that makes her fight to eat and get stronger. That she would be encouraged and strengthened. In Jesus' name.
Toni...I think it's so cool your hubby will cook for you. If I had to rely on mine I'd starve. That's an idea, at least I would lose some weight. :)
Happy...praying you get your meds just right for your sugar. My mom and sister have both battled with their sugar for years. It's a real pain.
Ellen...Talitha...Solly...((hugzz))
God bless,
Crystle

Morning! (barely still morning, but I made it!)
Walked this morning..came home and ate some gluten free pancakes (not all that tasty..like vanilla cardboard, but better than a poke in the eye) then headed down to the rapid transit station to pick up my son. He was down at a friend's house near downtown and rode the train out home this morning. Its freakin' COLD. I actually wore a hoodie to stay warm while walking. I am considering the warmth of my bed, and the invigorating benefits of a nap.
Eating is so so. Gluten free stuff tends to be a lot of rice, potato, etc. type stuff that is not too Sugarbusters friendly. I am trying to be selective and seek out the whole grain rice stuff. Its not easy, but I anticipate it getting easier as I figure my way along.
COUNTRY: That is awesome that you have the winter garden done! We are still getting a lot of okra, but our tomatoes are gone...and this is early for that I might add! We have some collards planted, but they are not doing much. Tom tried to plant some spinach in peat pots but the seed was old and so far, nothing has come up. I may run by the garden center and get some more seeds.
TONI: Are you doing your treadmill? Good for you eating well! How is the weather? Did you get a lot of rain the past few weeks like we did? It caught us up though...the drought may be over. Hooray!
HAPPY: I can so relate to the blood sugar issues. My doctor made me start on insulin and I am NOT happy. It does not seem to be doing much for my morning numbers, so I now have instructions on raising it daily until I hit where she wants me to be. All I can think of is how much harder than it already is losing weight is going to be. sigh.
BOB: Oh, dear. I just read a good article about depression in the elderly. They rarely discuss it because of the stigma that generation has on mental illness. Could it be she would benefit from an anti depressant? Praying for her, you and the doctors...
I have a Greek meatloaf in the crockpot for dinner tonight. The recipe sounds great, and I will let you all know if it turns out ok. I got it out of my low carb crockpot cookbook. Nice thing is that there are no fillers in it. I was prepared to sub gluten free oatmeal...but did not have to!
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hi Ladies
Sorry I was MIA. I was gone Friday and yesterday was so busy and we had a bid today. We had a gret time at the lake this weekend. It rained for 12 straight hours on Sat and harder than I have ever seen. But we talked and laughed and drank and ate and ate and ate. So we did not mind it. We would clean up breakfast and out would come the snacks. I am petrified to get on the scale. I need a couple days of diuretics to get rid of some of the water.
BOB, I am so sorry to hear about Kate. My dad did the same thing when my mom passed away. There was nothing wrong and he literally willed himself to die. But then, he snapped out of it and lived several more years. I still say my mom had a good talking to him. I hope they can either give her something or change her meds. You both are in my prayers.
Crystle, I am so happy that you have a walking buddy. Now you have no excuse.
Ellen, hope you are finding new gluten free foods. I had a good laugh over your pancakes. Wow, what a great walking partner.
Toni, sorry you are feeling bad. Hope you are on the mend soon. Good job to Dh cooking for you.
Happy, glad you are still with us and WTG on those 5 lbs.
Almost time to head home. I have to stop at the store. I am totally w/o food and I am going to stock up on fruits and veggies. I have to get serious as my "black" pants were too tight this morning.
Have a graet evening

Darn had cornbread tonight and some scoop chips too. Don't know why when I was doing so good. I'd like to blame it on me not feeling good. Going back to the doctor tomorrow. Hope he can do something for me. And not put me in the hospital.
Ellen- Love your post.... Since I'm not feeling well I haven't been on the treadmill. You're my hero with all that walking. Not much rain and its gotten cool here at night. I kind of like it.
Solly- Sounds like you've been plain busy. Get back up on that wagon.
Me too.....
Well time to shut down for the night.....
Crystle- Yea my DH would probably starve out of laziness. Today is his first day of retirement. Oh dear!!

It is SO beautiful outside this morning. It feels like fall. Sorry I didn't make it to the board yesterday. I recieve these neat little tips in the mail daily and thought I would share some with ya'll from time to time if you would like them. Here is one I thought was really neat:
Many times the hardest part about eating healthy is other people's influence. There's no doubt that there will be times when people will encourage you to eat the foods you'd rather avoid. The best way to handle these pushers is to decline politely and feel good about it when you say it. Don't be critical, and try not to make it a big deal. A simple "No, thank you" is the best way to go. If they still persist, then explain to them that you've made a resolution to eat a healthier diet.
Ellen...praying that as you change your medicine and diet that those numbers come into line. It's just a matter of time before you get it worked out. How was that meatloaf? I'm a HUGE meatloaf fan.
Toni...I'm sorry that you are still feeling poorly. Praying you don't have to go to the hospital.
Solly...Glad ya'll made the most of the weekend despite the rain. Hopefully the scales will be kind. :)
((Everybody))
God bless,
Crystle

Ellen, Hoping you don't have to go to the hospital. Dh retired just in time to take care of you.
Crystle, l love your tips, if it were only that easy. Most of the time "that person" tempting me is usually "me"!
Eating is good. Haven't been able to get to the gym this week. I hate myself for that.
Almost time to go home. Have a great evening.

Well, I had hoped it would not come down to this, but I see they are closing our forum due to inactivity. Understandable. Guess we need to just have a Sugarbuster thread over in the General Diet plan area...
Its been a great place and I have met some wonderful people here..... I am so sad to see it end. I joined seven years ago, and I have met at least a dozen folks from this board in person. There were times when I know I would not have made it without the encouragement of those of you here.
Good night....

No good news today. I expected it was coming. I'm like Toni, what can we do? Where can we meet?
Like Ellen, I have been hear 7 years and have "met" some wonderful people. Friends. I would hate not to be able to keep in tough with all of you. I guessw we could exchange emails on a private message and keep in touch that way or get a face book page.
Let me know if anyone comes up with something. When are they closing this site?
Toni, feel better soon.
I am taking off half a day to keep my GS while my dd attends our art fair we hae each year. we will go Sunday, but schools are closed so al lthe teachers go on Friday. Over 300,000 people attend each day. It is a mad house and expensive, but it is tradition that we go. Better for me, I get to babysit.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I will not know where to find anyone. I am sending some of you my emails so keep me posted.

I love you ladies and will miss hearing about your lives. Which ever board ya'll want to meet on just let me know. If there is a way to save our board let me know that too.

Ladies, they are not saying we can't have a thread on the general diet forum..just that this forum is too slow to keep it separate. Lets try the thread on the general diet forum and see how that goes.
As for Facebook, by all means, join over there. Its a GREAT way to keep in touch. I am on there, so if you join, send me a PM on here and I will send you a friend request. I love it and spend a lot of time there.
I will go find the general diet forum and start a thread there, and link from here to it. We can stay in touch, and it honestly will not be much different than here...just a different location on 3FC.
