Acai has been proven to be a great antioxidant, which puts it in the same category as other "superfruits" like blueberries. Antioxidants do a lot of things in the body, including helping to prevent cell damage.
Antioxidants do NOT, however, do anything for weight loss. And if you're drinking it in juice form, it's most likely going to be adding excess calories to your day. And Fat Smash doesn't allow juice anyway, at least not in the first phase.
