Good Morning :)

Today we will finally get to bring in our car to be fixed. I was rear-ended over a month ago. :(
I also have an appointment with dd Dr. He will let us know how she is doing.
My dh goes back to work tomorrow. With him off we were able to do alot of running around. We were looking for an oak dining room suite. Decided to get it custom made instead of buying it from a store.
I have really been watching my points. I would like to drop 5 pounds. The Dr. said I could do a little exercise as long as I remember that I will be paying the price for it. I walked a bit in the mall yesterday. I am not to ambitious to go at it to strong. It just makes a difference knowing that I can if I want to.
Have a great day ladies

Dee

Dee: Glad to hear you are taking it easy on the exercise.
Lets us know how the Dr. appointment goes with your daughter.

Good Morning Friends,
It took me a while, but I finally finished reading #90 and 91. Boy, when you miss a few days it takes forever to catch up! I've also been trying to "catch up" on things around here from being gone for 3 days. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//dizzy.gif I must say, though, DD did a good job of keeping up with things. Don't know about y'all, but DH would not know how to start a washer or dishwasher! He'd be in big trouble without ME! http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif

Trudy: Too funny about the towel. You and Slavika together must be a barrel of laughs -- like the Two Stooges! -- Just joking, of course. :D: I loved your quote.
Dee: Glad to hear you were able to get out and about for a while shopping for furniture. It is less stressful when DH is around and we have support for the trials we must sometimes endure. Do let us know the report on your daughter.
Geri: Please let me know when the Joyce Meyer conference is in Houston. I got her magazine, but can't locate it right now. I did consider it, but had to get these other trips out of the way before making any firm plans. That would be so nice if we could meet there. I like your plan of simplifying life with less clutter. The problem for me is as soon as I get rid of something, I'm needing it the next week. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//umm.gif
Lily: I'm hearing on the news today that CA is still having major power shortages with power outages expected today. How is that affecting your area? I have been posting a computer problem on a few sites trying to fix something on DDs computer. No answers in two days. I may email you and see if you and DH can help me out here.

I'm thinking about going to WW meeting tomorrow and get on the bandwagon with the rest of you. I realized that I think I can't go to the meeting until I'm motivated. But maybe I need to go to the meeting TO GET motivated! That probably makes more sense, right??? http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//spinning.gif

Gotta go run errands today. Will check in later.
Josie

Lily Thank you so much for pointing me to that recipe. I printed off a copy and maybe will try making some this afternoon. If I do, I'll bring some over to your house later this afternoon. LOL :D
Josie LOL LOL :D you had it right...TRUDY and I are like the "2 stooges"
I think I am worse then her though. Oh and JOSIE ~~~~~~~get thee to a WW meeting. All kinds of incentive, and lots of nice people.
I'll be back later. Right now I think I will go and bake some cookies. :)

Slavika: How, oh, how do you stay at goal weight with all the bread-baking and baking you do???? I know!! You share it with everyone and eat "only your share"??? That must be the secret to your success!!!!

I sure am pittilying (sp?) today. Haven't left for errands yet.

Josie: Email me and I will see if DH knows and can help. The meetings might help to get you motivated. Go for it!
The lights are effecting us now. They turn them off in different areas for 90 minutes. They are off at my house right now. Not at work yet but I supect it will hit at work tomorrow. Will be a nice and boring 90 minutes thats for sure.

Slavika: I will be waiting for my Cookies!!!!!!!! Hurry! But it is cold and the lights are out right now. So wait 90 minutes to come over! http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif
Let me know how they come out. I havent tried the recipe yet, as I have lots of Bakers Cookies right now.

Hi, I am new here. Soon to be "60" - in a few weeks. I like to craft and paint and eat. Also fairly new at computers. Been reading all your posts and thought I would join in.

All - Your talking about baking and cooking just blows me away. I dust my stove once a week whether it needs it or not. If I baked, Slavika, I would have to eat. I didn't used to even get the batter to the over--just ate it right out of the mixing bowl. (See, I really have a problem.)

Geri - I am so glad your husband is fine after his bout with bladder cancer. It is a scarey time, all right. I am just very proud of you and the rest who are buckling down and getting it on!

This past weekend we had my brother and his wife and my sister and her husband to our house. We visited, ate out a lot, played games, shopped, went to the show and in general just had a great time. It was fun not to have any "kids" around for once. My brother and sister for years had a huge feud going and got mad at me whenever I saw the other one. But when my mother got sick, they had to work together and when she died, they just totally made up. Now they are best of friends again. My sister just lost 50 pounds on WW and WILL NOT eat a slice of bread or a baked potato or anything sweet. My brother is compulsive like that--he lost 25 pounds a few years ago and WILL not ever gain a pound back. Just wondered. Why didn't I get a little of that obsessiveness! They both think they will never again have a cookie or a candy bar. I just think that is so unrealistic, but I am the one struggling to get back. They are both sleek and thin.

Dee - Great to hear from you. Is you dd getting better? When she gets out of the hospital, you will be so relieved not to have to go to the hospital again. How is her school work being handled? Makes you wonder how single mothers handle this kind of crises , doesn't it?

Hi Painter..If you like to eat - you qualify, please do join us :D. Tell us a bit about yourself.
Marsha..I am sure the .5 will be gone soon - just keep on following the plan. We all get those occasional "ups" when we don't expect them.
Geri..Had to :) about the "Tupperware Cabinet". I have one too, and for some strange reason I usually use empty cool whip, or margarine containers all the time. Our WW leader calls them "Ukrainian Tupperware". http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif For the bread recipe, just omit the caramel coloring, you don't need it.
Dee..It must feel great being able to exercise again. I know how much you missed it. The custom made oak dinning room suite sounds wonderful. Getting the car back into its original shape will be nice too. Still keeping your DD in my prayers. :)
Lily..I checked out the recipe for the cookies. They look really good. I have never tried the original cookies, they are expensive! Did you ever try Christineu's recipe for the No Pudge Brownies? That looks interesting. The power shortages must be annoying already. We saw pictures of the semi trailer that crashed into the State Building in Sacramento yesterday. Looked awful.
Josie..Alas, I have to admit that the picture you have of us is close to the mark. Slavika and I sure do have our fun :D. You should definitely get yourself to a WW meeting. It is the best place to get inspired. Nothing like being accountable when you get on the scale there.
Slavika..After you bake the cookies, and when you are on your way to Lily's place drop off one at my door too. After all, you do have to head south anyway. Should we tell Josie that you do give away 3/4 of what you bake? Hmmmmm? http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//umm.gif

I am at loose ends this afternoon. Usually my Mom spends the whole day with me, but today she had some other plans. Maybe I should go over to Slavika's and help her bake. LOL Have a nice day everyone! :D

Hi Glenda..I guess we were posting at the same time, it takes me soooo long to type everything out. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//dizzy.gif
I had to comment on your families obsessions. I too know a couple who don't eat realistically. She eats plain rice cakes and water at lunchtime, he will have 1/2 sandwich and a fruit. They basically only eat supper, and that is so spartan. They have been doing this for a while, and are very thin, but I wonder about healthy. They both are quite pasty and never have any energy. I believe in everything in moderation, it is the moderation part I usually have trouble with http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif. I had to laugh :D about dusting the stove, and getting the batter to the oven. Very funny.

Hi All,

Thought I'd pop in and tell that about the scopy thing I had done today. It didn't hurt at all in fact I don't remember a thing aren't drugs great! http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif The doctor didn't find any major problem just a small H(something can't spell it)hernia. So I go in for a Ultrasound on Tuesday to check out the liver ducts. I am sooooooo excited . I had the gallbladder removed 15 years or so ago so it can't be that? But the pain is so much like gallbladder pain maybe there are still stones stuck in the liver. I know my Grandfather had to have a second surgery. Won't that be just ducky http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//spinning.gif

Lily I'll bet you all are very upset over the energy thing . I can't figure out how the state ran out of power.

Josie when you asked Slavika how she managed to stay at goal it reminded me of yesterday at the morning meeting. The question was asked "How many points do you get to stay at goal" Well I said I stay real close to the losing points because I only exercise 3 or 4 times a week. Then we asked our co-worker who is 40 years old she maintains at 50 to 60 points but is very active. Let me tell you some of the people were very up set mostly ones my age. But I think we finally convinced them it's a age thing. As you get older your metabolism slows down . So for those of us who want to eat more points we have to get off out duff and get moving That goes for me too. And I have be doing well these last 4 weeks and it paid off . I finally started losing again after so long of up 1, down 2, up 2, down 1, you know how it goes. Well I didn't mean to babble on it must still be the drugs. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//dizzy.gif I'll check in tomorrow

Hi Everybody LILY pointed me in the direction of "Christine's" Baker Breakfast Cookies and I have to say the gal came up with a good recipe. :) I will have to track her down and say, "Thank you".
Now you guys, I made her basic recipe and added one cup of frozen blueberries to the dough and they turned out very nice. I calculated the points and it works out to less then 4 points per HUGE cookie. I also made another batch with nuts and raisins using a small amount of applebutter and more of the yogurt, I think I prefer the blueberry ones, but they are both good and huge~~~~LOL did I mention they were HUGE.
:D Now Lily I packaged up one of each kind of cookie for you to try, walked over to your house and "ALAS" the house was in darkness and there was nobody home. So I ate them.
PAINTER Hi there, and welcome to one of the best boards on 3FC. We would love for you to join us. Jump right in, and you will soon get to know us. Looking forward to getting to know you too. :)
GLENDA you sure are on a roll today. Funny funny lady. LOL <IMG SRC="http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif">
DEE nice hearing from you today too. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//love.gif
JOSIE you know something strange about me, well actually if you talk to TRUDY she'll tell you lot's of strange things about me, but when I bake and I do bake a lot I FEEL like I have eaten a lot. It's like just making the stuff satisfies me.~~~~~~~well usually. hee hee
ALAS TRUDY you should have come over and we could have made a whole bunch of "breakfast Cookies".
One of the gals on the 60's board on Dotties wanted to know if she could use strawberries instead of the blueberries in the pie I posted on "our Recipe Site". Anyway we worked out a recipe and I made the "Marcy & Slavika Strawberry Pie" today too, and it is very nice. It would be wonderful on a summer's day or after a big dinner or just anytime. Another gal over at Dottie's shared her Winter Fruit Compote and I made that too today, so you gals know what I did all afternoon. Ok, I'll come back later and take a peek.
HI KAREN I guess we were posting at the same time. I am happy your scope went well. :)

Painter: Welcome! You will enjoy it here! Lots of freindly gals. (except watch out for Slavika. She eats other peoples cookies)

Glenda: I think they are both a little obsessive. Why deprive your self of some of the good things. As long as it is done in moderation there is nothing wrong with it. I just could not see myself not having a slice of bread or a cookie for the rest of my life.
You are to funny. Dusting the stove. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif

Trudy: That Truck that did hit the capital was pretty bad. The Guy must of had a screw lose to go 60 miles an hour to hit it. He must of wanted to die is all I can say. Pretty sad. Yeah the power thing isnt fun. It wasnt bad today as, I was at work when it hit home. But I expect tomorrow to be worse as it should hit the areas I travel to work and work it self. Its a mess when the traffic lights are out. No I havent tried the No pudge brownie recipe. I can buy the mix at Trader Joes so I didnt bother to print it out.

Karen: Oh Im sorry to hear about the hernia. Keep us posted on what the Dr says. I did take my book in to get Sprial Bound Wednesday. Its was suppose to be back today but it wasnt. But I get 10% of because it wasnt. Whoopie Im rich! 25 cents!

Slavika: I told you to wait til the lights came on!!!!!!!!! Oh man now Im mad. I was sitting waiting with Tea brewing alllllllllllll Afternoon. ALAS, ALAS, ALAS Im crying http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//insane.gif

Josie: Got the email I will ask hubby when he gets home and email you!

Last time. This board is acting weird!

Hi all - Well I finally got some time for me and went to WW this morning. A friend also came with me and it was great having someone there that I know. The good news is that from this time last year I am down 18# but the bad news is that I gained 15# from the trip and xmas etc. It makes me mad because I could have been down 33# or more if I hadn't been so stupid. But I am glad because most years I end up gaining instead of losing and hardly ever stay the same. I need some of you guys to live closer for inspiration . I was looking over the new programme and it seems ok. No real biggies there and I am sure that I missed all the discussion you guys probably had on it by now but I will try and go back over the old messages and eventually catch up. Lily I posted my new weight on our list. Well I'm off to catch up on the messages....later all.

Donna glad you are back. Come tell us all about the trip. Obvioously the food was good http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif We have missed you.

Welcome to Painter5. You are in the right spot. We will support you, laugh with you, and help you in any way we can. Some people (who shall remain nameless) will even promise you cookies and treeskirts. Sometimes they don't show up, though, do they Lily?

Today has been a lazy day. I have done nothing! And enjoyed every minute of it. I am planning on spending the evening doing the same thing :D

It looks like our president is going to be inaugurated tomorrow. I am so glad. George W. Bush is a fine man and will be an excellent president. At least he will never embarrass us by what he does or who he does it with in the oval office.

I made a real good low point lunch today. It was a cup and a half of cottage cheese, 2 tablespoons of low fat Miracle Whip, garlic salt, pepper, 1/2 cucumber chopped, a hunk of chopped bell pepper, some chopped green onion, a stalk of celery chopped, and a tomato chopped. It made a big bowl and it is 4 to 5 points depending on what kind of cottage cheese you use. You can be real fancy and stuff the tomato with the cottage cheese mix rather than chopping the tomato up in it.

Slavika, How did your cookies turn out?

Hi Everybody Hey Donna nice "seeing" you again. Good for you for getting back to WW and for managing to keep 18# off. :)
Geri LOL this is "nameless", it's good every once in awhile to do absolutely nothing of great importance. I actually do it quite frequently. :D or should that be "don't do it", YIKES, now I sound like Hyacinth Bucket. By the way the cookies are very good and very easy to make. Very easy to eat too. It's really too bad that Lily wasn't at home when I dropped by. :)
Had "Baba Day" with the Princess today. When TRUDY was here one day she spotted this craft in a woman's magazine on how to make a "snake" from a man's tie.
Well the "Princess" and I did that today. She wanted to learn how to sew, so she could sew the ends of the tie closed after we put the stuffing in the snake. I showed her how and she even managed to thread the needle. Oh my she was excited. For a 5 yr. old child she did very well. Stabbed herself a couple of times, but said, that was ok, because sometimes she hears her Mommy when she stabs herself. hee hee. :D Well the Mommy and 7 yr old brother come to pick her up and she is just so pleased and happy with her project that she could hardly even speak. She's saying over and over again to him, look what I did all by myself, I did this, I stuffed it and I sewed it. Finally he acknowledges her, and says, only as a 7 yr old male can, "cool"..... That's it.
"Talk" to you all tomorrow. Night.

Karen..Isn't it wonderful what those "drugs" can do when we take those awful tests. I had that test done without any drugs one time, and believe me, it was a horror. I hope the other tests you have won't be nasty. :)
Lily..I tried the Baker Breakfast cookies too and they are good. Someone else posted that they used a 1/3 cup measure so they are all the same size. I got 7 cookies for a 2pt count. Thanks for the link. ALAS, Slavika didn't stop by my place with some cookies either. And my lights weren't out.
HI DONNA..long time "no hear from you". Glad you are back with us. :D Be happy you are still down 18#, that is a victory. You are back with WW and those 15# will be history soon.
Geri..When the Tree skirts were being delivered you were glued to the TV watching the election results. We are now on our way to California, just passed by Pie Town, New Mexico. Did you ever hear of that town? I might just try out that low point lunch of yours. Sounds tasty, I like cottage cheese.
Slavika..You just might have a "Crafty Granddaughter" taking after you and her Mom. That is really good for a 5 year old, but then again, she is talented and well as beautiful. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//love.gif

My claim to fame was working out, lunching out, laundry, baking cookies and salmon patties for supper. I guess that sounds pretty boring, but I actually enjoyed myself. Go figure. Now it is bedtime..so Good Night all.. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//sleep.gif

We've had that power outage stuff too. Worst part is trying to drive when the signal lights are out. Everyone " forgets" to stop at the intersection - can get pretty scary.

Anyway I am off to bed we are taking a 6 a.m. flight to Southern Cal (I had some airfare that was going to run out) then off to disneyland all day until we drop. overnight at the hotel and fly back home on Sunday morning. Just two crazy jetsetters http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//dizzy.gif

Hi everyone. It is cold and snowing today. I live in southwester Ohio. I used to work in a craft and decorating wholesale house. I did the crafts and floor samples. Been married a long time -37- years. Have 2 sons-l married- no grandkids- just 2 granddogs so far. DH is recently retired from fire dept. He "loves" to cook. Am a former Weight Watcher member now trying it on my own. I need someone to slap my hand when there are goodies around. Slavika, I gain just reading about all your baking. Slavika why don't you take a picture of the princess's snake and post it? That would thrill her. It is good of you to take the time to teach her now. Love of crafts and sewing starts young. I was 5 when I learned how to crochet. My mother was pregnant with Peanut and I am 2 months short of 6 years older than her. Anyone remember Peanut? Gotta run. The Nordic Track is calling to me and you all know how I love it. Ugh! But I weigh tomorrow so I don't dare skip exercise today.

Morning all. Margot I just get so excited when I read how well you are doing. I really need you next door to me. Keep it up. The wedding and the trip was wonderful and for someone like me who doesn't like to leave home I am absolutely in love with cruising. I hate flying - cramped seats, awful food, cancelled flights etc. but the ship was wonderful. My next trip will be an Alaskan cruise because I don't have to fly to it. There is so much food on board and so many restaurants to choose from - all free. I ate desserts that were heavenly...but that is all behind me now (in more ways than one). Last night I went to a meeting and didn't nibble on so much as a cracker tho' if the stuffed mushrooms weren't all gone by the time I finished yapping I would have been very tempted. Today I am off shopping for a birthday present for my new lovely daughter in law. I will try and post a picture to Lily for our board. I have a new scanner for xmas and haven't quite got the hang of it but our Lily is very clever about fixing our mistakes. Hi to everyone and a special hi to all the newcomers. I look forward to getting to know you all more....later.....donna

Geri: Yes I remeber Peanut how is she doing?

Painter: Maybe your DH can give mine lessons on cooking! Wish mine did but he doesnt even know how to boil water.........

Donna: I would love to take a cruise someday. My DH's parents did the Alaskan cruise and said it was beautiful. I would also like to do that one.

Stayed the same this week. Might be stuck again. Alas. Went to Costco and spent a large fortune this morning. Gonna try making those cookies this afternoon to.

Karen: I got my book back that I had Sprial bound and I love it! Makes it so much easier. Thanks for the idea! Course I dont think I will be going back to Office Max. The girl told me they had lost the book and thats why I didnt get it sooner.

Boy you miss a few days and find so many posts. I have spend the past 45 minutes reading them all and mentally telling myself I must reply to that one, that one and that one and now of course I don't remember who said what :D :D
From your posts Slavika, Trudy and Lily do you all live close by??
Also saw someone mention the Alaskan Cruise, dh and I would very much like to do that in the not too distant future but it is very difficult to book anything because we never know where we will be.
It continues to be hot here with no rain :( I made the mistake of going on a long bike ride yesterday, it was really just too hot and I was exhausted when I came home. We had breakfast this morning on the foreshore which was lovely, still quite cool early in the morning. DH is off on a business trip for a few days to Sydney, lovely I can just please myself :) Love hime dearly but it is nice to have a break http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//love.gif
I am staying right on track and the mention by Lily of our weight chart reminds me that is something I must do.
Do I just go to the site Lily and enter it??? When you get a chance let me know and I will see to that.
Have a great day all
Cheers
Maria

Hi Everybody Maria Actually Trudy and I live near each other and we are Canadians, but "ALAS" our LILY is American and of course does not live near us at all. :( I was only teasing about taking cookies to her. Sometimes when our weather is freezing cold (which it is right now) I wish I was within walking distance of LILY'S . Speaking of Lily, my husband can't cook either. He can boil water in the morning for hot chocolate and put one of my "WONDERFUL" homemade muffins in the microwave and tells anybody who will listen that he "COOKS" his own breakfast. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//umm.gif
Hi Painter Trudy has a granddog too. LOL.... How do you manage not going to WW? Boy I sure have to go to those meetings and get weighed in every week, or I kind of "drift". "UPWARDS"
GERI That little "Princess" of ours is sure a joy. I can't believe that next year she will be in school full time. My grandson is also very sweet and the love of my life.... http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//love.gif but now I don't see him as often as I see her. I did see him for an hour or so yesterday and he was looking a little pale and today (his big hockey tournament) he was sick with the stomach flu and not able to go. They are coming here tomorrow for brunch if everyone is able. They live only a few streets from us. :)
Donna I don't like to fly either, but I can't figure out any other way to get to Maui. Because I've flown so often now it's getting easier. I'm very claustrophobic, so I have learned to always request an aisle seat, and that makes it a little easier. I don't even like to sit on a sofa between two people so I sure don't want to on a plane. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//insane.gif
DH and I went to Costco today too...but didn't buy to much. DH wanted to buy more of the Salt & Pepper Kettle Chips...and boy are they ever good. I assume you can get them in the States at your Costco too. Well that's it for me ladies, I'll be back tomorrow. Good night all.

I thought that I would let you in on the news with my daughter. She was here on a day pass. My dh is on his way back to the hospital with her. At our meeting thursday the Dr. suggested to her that she would be ready to come home. She wants to stay there. Where she is safe and snug like a bug in a rug.lol She needs to get ready mentally to come home. I expect by monday or tuesday that she will be home.It has been almost 5 weeks.
My dh was asked to go to mexico on monday. It didn't go over to well with dd Dr. He promised dd and the Dr that he would stay home and look after us. Needless to say he will be staying home this trip.
I will post when there is more news of what is happening here.
Take care everyone!

I don't know what happened. I have been OP and I gained weight. I truly have been good except for the fried fish, but I had plenty of points in the bank to cover it. I am really discouraged. I feel bloated, but I haven't eaten chinese, sauerkraut, or pasta (the usual offenders). The only thing I can think of is I ate some canned soup (2 points) yesterday. We will see what happens next week.

Hi everyone, I hope your weekend is a good one. I walked on my very dusty treadmill yesterday since it is too icy outside. Geri, I hope your husband is ok- cancer is a scary thing to go thru. I had uterine cancer a year and a half ago. It gives you a whole new perspective on life. Cal Walker, doesn't it feel good to have the 18's too big. I am going to try making the cookies tomorrow.

Maria: No I dont live anywhere near Slavika and Trudy. I live in California.
Just email me with your starting, goal weight and what your weight now is and I will update the chart for you. lilygib@yahoo.com

Slavika: LOl your DH sounds like mine. They sure wouldnt survive if they lived together! Yes we have the salt and Pepper Kettle chips. They are good! Cant buy them tho as DH will eat the entire bag in one sitting with no problem. He loves Any kind of Potato Chip. Hes a salt freak.

Dee: Thanks great news. Sounds like your DD is getting somewhat better. Hope she does come home soon. And its great that DH is staying home on this trip. You two need him right now.

Geri: Dont get discouraged. These things happen. You have been losing like crazy since you started. Im sure its just some water gain. It will be off. I dont think its the soup. Sure it has salt but I dont think thats the cause of it.

Painter: Good for you getting on the threadmill. Its not dusty anymore!

One day I will learn how to type, and spell.

Good Morning, ladies.

I had such a lazy weekend, I didn't even feel like turning on the computer, so here I am bright and early Monday morning having my first cup of tea and trying to catch up. "OP" has not been in my vocabulary for the last three days, so I'm afraid tomorrow's WI won't be a happy experience. I will not, however, as I have done so often in the past, say to myself that I've already blown it so why not go ahead and indulge 'til Wednesday and start fresh. I'm starting fresh right now!

Thanks for the snack suggestions and recipes, TRUDY and SLAVIKA. I've already tried the yogurt and Cool Whip and it's delicious. I'm going to try the crepe recipe as soon as I find the crepes (or decide to try making my own - remember when crepe restaurants were all the rage? I even bought a crepe pan and used it probably twice before it disappeared forever and my crepe-making efforts with it). I can't believe how much baking goes on at Slavika's house! Must be the long cold Canadian winter. I'll bet you don't spend much time in the kitchen when you're in Maui, Slavika - at least I hope not. Getting close, now. Will you have access to a computer while you are there so you can take us all along vicariously?

GERI, I always associate Costco with vacations, since we only have Sam's here, but I get to go to Costco with my mother when I am in California. Also, Trader Joe's, which I love. Such great stuff and good prices. Your cottage cheese recipe sounds good; in fact, it sounds just like my tuna salad recipe - just substitute a can of tuna for the cottage cheese and you have it.

PAINTER, welcome to a terrific group. How lucky to have a husband who cooks - I've heard that firemen are terrific in the kitchen! And KAREN, a husband who cooks AND follows the WW plan! What a jewel.

MARGOT - Hope you had a good trip to Disneyland. I tried to get there after Christmas, but they were turning people away every day (and some very angry people they were) so didn't go there. Besides, the new part wasn't open yet. I don't think it is even now, is it? Congratulations on the 18's being too big. What a thrill it is to move to a smaller size - one of the best rewards of losing weight I always think!

Well, I'm a slow writer, and I don't have much time left this morning, so I will sign off although I would have liked to reply to more of the posts. I will try to get back here this evening. Have a good day all.
