Default Hello wrinkles

I knew when I started into this diet that I probably wasn't going to come out of it without wrinkles. That didn't bother me so much. What did bother me was the thought that I'd get "jowls". I was already developing them from my weight, making my face look like a stranger. A tired, dull stranger, looking much older than her 24 years. It was quite the shock.

35 lbs down, those jowl lines have become much more pronounced. Yep, they're here to stay. But something has changed. I've discovered, I don't mind them so much. At 280, they were enough to make me cry. At 245, I actually kind of... like them. They look like laugh lines. I think they make me look kind of... handsome!

It's something I never expected to happen, and I tell you what, it's a load off my mind. I think I can do this. Come lines! Come hanging skin! Nevermind all that, I want to meet the new me!

LOVE that attitude.

I felt/feel the same way. We see so many threads started about people avoiding weight loss because they're afraid of some wrinkles or excess skin. And I always think to myself - huh? Are they for real? How can anyone actually think it's better to walk around with all those added pounds then with a few extra lines and/or sagging skin.

I've yet to hear of one single solitary person, not a one - who's gotten to goal and yes - wind up with sagging skin or wrinkles, wish that they hadn't lost the weight and declare that they were better off being morbidly obese.

You go Jo! Just keep at it and there will be many more "discoveries" of all sorts for you. This journey is a joy and a thrill. Glad you're already reaping the benefits.

I admire your spirit and your attitude!

The younger you are the more elastic you skin--so goofd for you. From that point of view alone, I wish I hadn't waited 8 years (since my last bab) to start losing this weight. Eight years of elasticity gone.

I too love your attitude!

Even with my loose skin and turkey neck, I wouldn't change a thing about my weight loss. It makes me happy every day.

What a great attitude!

If I can just lose this weight, I'll take whatever loose skin it gives me.

Must totally second what Robin said, who ever heard of someone hitting goal and saying, ya this skin is gross, I think I'm going to gain some weight and fill it up again.

Good on you for embracing every part, wrinkly or not, it's all fab.

Bring on the jowls, wrinkles, and hanging skin. Just give me a thin and healthy body!

I hear ya!
I wear my wrinkles PROUDLY! I love every single one of them. They are a testament to my success.
Trading more wrinkles for 95 lbs - I definitely came out WAY ahead!

Great attitude, you'll go far!
and
certainly when it comes to the jowly under the neck bit, mine has changed shape so many times in the last 44lbs and keeps catching up to the rest of my face, so jowls and wrinkles may not be permanent outcomes!
