Default 3 lb gain overnight??

So I gained 3 lbs overnight. I went out and had a couple of drinks last night, didn't snack at night, and ate very well throughout the day. I'm just wondering what the heck it could be. Oh, and for some reason my hamstrings are aching. Could it be water retention?

It has to be water retention. I mean.... to gain 3 lb. of fat you'd have to eat... like... 10,500 calories.

while alcohol is dehydrating, it can also make you bloated... so that probably has some to do with it. And after a heavy workout/activity, your muscles retain water while they repair themselves (and grow!). So don't let it discourage you keep right on track eating right and after a few more days your body will even itself out!

Did you eat an extra 10500 calories? No? Or even an extra 7500 (3 lbs muscle)? Well, then, try not to worry it is a blip and will probably be gone again soon. It it that time of the month? Did you change your workout, sending more water to those sore muscles?

how do you get rid of water retention? Just drink a whole bunch of water and go to the bathroom a lot? I'm like in pain here... lol. It's very uncomfortable.

I can't drink coffee, it hurts my gastrointestinal tracts, and i almost had an ulcer in high school so i can't drink coffee. I think I will take a water pill. I think I really am retaining a lot of water. i just feel so crappy... and I started on birth control again so that could contribute to it too.

thanks everyone, i really appreciate it.

ugh birth control is the worst...I gained 10lbs on it last fall, but I've been able to normalize since then so hang in there and I bet your body will adjust, too.
