Wow! Everyone has been so talkative, and writing longer posts. I think it's great!

Essie, lots of people have never flown before. I read once that there are only two moods on planes, sheer terror and boredom. I definitely fit into the first category during takeoff and landing! Joe loves it. Two years ago I gave him a flying lesson for Christmas at our local (small!) airport (not O'Hare!). He loved it, and would eventually like to pursue it to get his pilot's license.

Dianne, your vacation sounds like fun. The best vacations we've taken are those that have included family. One of my favorites was renting a houseboat on the Mississippi River and sailing up to Minnesota. My bro. and his wife went w/us and the kids. It was a blast.

Terri, sounds like my house....being around the guys is really a "gas" http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//insane.gif Thanks for the instructions on how to reset the points calculator. I'm going to email my SIL and see if she wants it back.

Will check back later. Hope everyone has a great OP day. I've gotten in almost 40 oz. of water so far......am going to float to the post office and store when I go!

Essie,
Good luck. I hope it went well. What is Vytra? That savings is great!!!! This might sound weird but my favorite days are rainy days. I feel so cozy and I don't have to worry about the kids outside. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//insane.gif

Jen,
Thanks for the new thread. These are going fast. WOW!!! This is great! My husband would love to get his license. Tell him good luck and be careful. Those trips up the Mississippi sound wonderful. Sounds so Mark Twainy. :That sounded intelligent:. LOL
We live on the Tennessee River. That is a thought. My boys think any subject that is about gas is so funny! My daughter is even laughing about them too. Of course she was never your typical "little lady".
Hi everyone. Can't wait to hear of all the news this week. EVERYONE GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Hi :)

I still don't see the bar at the right that let's us know it's going to page two. Is it me?

I went to my meeting. I lost 1 lb. but that's okay. I always look at it this way, if it's not much one week the following will be a good loss. The meeting was packed!!!! I heard that the Monday morning leader was really good & she was. It's too bad she's only there Monday mornings. I liked her alot.

Jen, you're doing great with your water. I never had a problem with water. I actually like it.

Terri, Vytra is my medical insurance. It's an HMO plan. It's great! I only pay $5.00 for meds. When I had my shoulder surgery they paid for most of it. I had a balance of $40. Not bad huh? It covers everything. If you join WW & prepay they cover a percentage. That special is good thru Feb. I think I'm going to go for it.

Let me go browse a bit.

Hi Dianne, Myra & Zoe.

Have a good night.

Good Monday Evening!

I feel really good today.....like I took some "happiness" pill. Don't know what it is. Today was a typical Monday.....long!!! Work has been less than enjoyable to me lately and while I'm not thinking of getting out of there, I wouldn't turn down something better. I'd love to work at home. Oh well, just a dream at this point.

Essie ~ you've never flown? I didn't fly until I was 21 yrs old and then again, not for years after that. I don't like flying and that's why I was the one who suggested we drive to Florida in March...of course, Greg JUMPED at the chance to go to the new casinos in LA and MS along the way. As for the cruise thing, we've been on about 5 of them and they are the best vacation. If you get a chance to go, don't pass it up ~ you'll love it! But oh, the food on those things........you need to get to goal, minus 7. Ha! WTG on losing a pound. Hey, a pound is a pound is a pound, right??

Terri ~ I am going to look for that blue calculator Wednesday night when I go to my meeting. I loved using the gray one so I'll just bite the bullet and get this new one. Thanks for the info

Hi Jen, Dianne, Myra ~ time to go relax. Have a great night......getting closer to Wednesday and my weigh in....praying for 2 to make a total of 10. Crazy?? Yep!! :D

Essie! Go get a pound package of butter and take a good look, pick it up, feel it....you're not carrying that around anymore!! A pound is a lot. Good job on your loss. I really mean that.

Crossing my fingers for tomorrow. I have my doubts about a loss. Previously I would just skip my meeting if I thought I'd gained, then another week would go by, and then I'd owe them money for 2 weeks, and then I'd be a quitter. I'm going tomorrow and facing the music.

Night all!

Hi guys:

Essie -- congrats on your 1 lb. loss, zoe's right -- a pound is a pound is a pound!
Don't worry about the plane ride -- I predict that you will love it. No, Essie you're not the only one -- I don't see the bar thingy either, LOL.

Jen -- You and I are opposite when it comes to the plane ride -- my favorite part is the take-off, when the plane picks up speed going down the runway right before it lifts off the ground. And I love the landing as well. It's such a rush!!! But my hubby does not do well on a plane. He usually takes a 1/2 a valium before we get on. The trip down/up(?) the mississippi sounds lovely. Good luck tomorrow!

Terri -- You're really getting a lot of mileage out of this "gas" thing, girl, LOL. Hope you're doing well.

Zoe -- Good Luck on your next weigh in.
The cruise trips sound great. My husband is dying to go on a cruise. Maybe next year. Right now I'm busy planning for the Florida trip in July.

Can't wait to see the kids. My son said the baby, we call him "buddha", is really bad -- he says he does things he knows he's not supposed to do and just looks you right in the eye like nothing, LOL. He's kind of special to me because I was in the delivery room and saw him being born. It was amazing.

Myra -- hope you're doing well. Have a great week.

Have a great "On-program" Tuesday everyone.

Night,
Dianne

Zoe, My fingers are crossed that you get that 2 lb. loss you are looking for. But don't get down if you fall short. You are doing so great. There is always next week. But I am sure you'll do it this week. Let us know.

I'm hanging in there, still car-less. Hopefully it will be fixed by the end of this week. This really stinks. I hate being dependent on others, even just my DH.

Oh well, time to face the day. I have to go meet with my editor in NYC this morning. I hate having to travel 4 hours round trip for a two hour meeting. Well, that's life, I guess.

I hope all are well,

Myra

Just popping in to say goodmorning. I have to get to work a little earlier since we were closed yesterday it's going to be a crazy day. I like crazy days cause they make the hours go fast. I wish you all a great day. :D

Okay, I gained 2.0 pounds. :( I knew that I had some difficult moments this past week, and had a feeling that they'd show today on the scale. I'm not letting it get me down, I WILL have a loss next week! I still feel good about being a member of WW, and intend to be successful at this in the long run.

Today I spoke w/a woman who's been a member for 18 weeks, and has lost 24 lbs. She had gains 5 times during those 18 weeks. Now, if that had been the "old" me, I would have quit after the first gain. Now I realize that I will have ups and downs (as Terri has said before!), and part of being successful is accepting them and learning from them.

I'm off to take a walk.

Have a great day! :)

~Jen

Hi ALL!

Essie,
By all means go for it! That is wonderful!
1 pound is great! Every pound matters. That is 4 sticks of butter. "Weigh" to go girl.
The bar thing that I refer to is the thing you put your curser on to bring the page up or down.

Zoe,
The blue calculter is great. I really like it better than the gray one. Good investment.
Good luck on that 2 pounds!

Jen,
Good luck on your weigh-in. That is wonderful that you are staying with it. I use that butter comparison too. 1 pound is a lot.

Dianne,
Your grandson sounds so cute. Your son sounds like he is going to be running a lot. LOL

Hi Myra!
Hope you get your car working soon. Good luck woth your meeting.

Have a wonderful day everyone! :D

Jen - The way I see it is that you lost 4.8 lbs. and got back ONLY 2 lbs., so you're still ahead of the game by 2.8 lbs. (LOST). Those 2 lbs will be gone before you know it.

Have a great day, everyone!!

Jen, I know it is hard when you gain, but think of each week after your WI as a clean slate. No use getting down on ourselves (BTW we all have gains from time to time. It is all part of being human.) Figure out what likely went wrong and do it differently this week and you will be amazed at how the numbers go down. I have faith in you. You can do it.

Hi :)

I love this group. I really feel the sincerity, care, concern for one another. We share something very special. I hope we'll be around for the long haul.

Jen, when I read your message this morning it was like if I was writing it. I was the same way when I had a gain. I would miss that week to try to lose it but then I didn't want to pay double. See you've come a long way. Don't sweat those 2 lbs. See how you just picked yourself up & went for a walk. Good goin ;)

Okay Terri, I see the bar you're talking about. As long as I've been posting here I never noticed.

Myra, great advice you gave Jen. I like that. So how are you doing? Is your DH feeling better? I know he was having a rough time at work. I know what that feels like. I had such a bad day today that I just wanted to go buy a chocolate bar from the coffee truck but I didn't. One of the secretaries was really getting on my nerves!! But I survived. :) First thing I did was jump on my treadmill when I got home. Helps me destress(such a word?).

Zoe, I feel the same way about my job. I would love to work from home too. My brother is planning to open a gym in the future & he wants me to manage it. Can't wait!

Have a good night everybody ;)

Thank you so very much for the support! You guys are the very best. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//love.gif

Myra, I hope you get your car back soon, isn't it amazing how we depend on them? How was your trip into the city?

Essie, how great that you know what works to calm you down. Getting on the treadmill is better than grabbing something to eat. And yes, destress is a word in my book! ;)

Dianne, thanks for the math! It is so great to know that all of us are here for each other.

Zoe, I know that I've been lucky in being able to quit my job and stay at home. My husband works but we also have our own corporation (he repairs xray equipment) so I do have the opportunity to work at home. I do the billing, etc. It's an "unpaid" position, but lots of perks! :)

Terri, hi! Looking forward to Super Bowl? I am, even tho my team isn't in it (ha ha, go Bears).

Have a great night. NYPD is on tonight, yeah!

Hi Y'all ~

tomorrow night is weigh in and tomorrow morning is weigh in for hubby. He does WW at home and I go to the meetings. It's a job for me though.....a little sample of my evening while preparing, eating and cleaning up dinner:

how many points did I have? How many points is this? How many points do I have left? How many points do I get? Sheesh, my head spins. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//insane.gif

Jen ~ I was like you....if I didn't think I did well or if I thought I'd gained, I would just skip that week and try harder for the next week. Unfortunately, as I did that, time after time, I ended up not going at all and gaining 26 of my 47 pounds lost. So this time, I'm with you....face the music no matter what. :) accountability is what I know I need.

Dianne ~ get that cruise booked!!! you'll love it!! :D

Myra ~ Thanks for the pep talk. I know that even if I don't lose 2 this week, 8 last week was GREAT so I'm really happy. I will surely post it, up, down or same, when I find out. Hope your meeting went well.

Essie ~ manage a gym?? Now that would be a dream job....make money and exercise too. What a dream. :) As for me, I don't have any offers like that but I am open to any suggestions. Ha!

Terri ~ I love your reference to the pound of butter. I will remember that when I want something I shouldn't have.

Good night Y'all ~ I will post tomorrow night after weigh in. Thanks for all your support guys, you are all wonderful.

I don't know why, but I am having a real tough day today. The munching bug really has a hold of me. Maybe I'm tired from my trip to NYC yesterday. That commute always knocks me for a loop. I don't know. I'm trying to stay in control, but it is sooooooooooooo hard.

Myra,
Hope it worked out well for you. I hate when the munchie cravings start! Good luck!

Zoe,
I can relate. My husband has been doing it since Nov. and it is getting better. Hang in there. Good luck. Hope weigh-in goes well.
My daughter is doing it as well. I take care of her meals and she is responsible for the rest.

Essie,
Managing a gym. What motivation. That would be super. Good luck! I feel the sincereity too. I probably misspelled that. Oh well.

Well everyone. You might remember that I had to put my 17 yr. old faithful companion Bucky to sleep in Nov. It is still hard to think about. We just now got a new puppy.
He is part Shelty and Golden Retriever. looks like he will only get to about 30. the shelty brought him down in size. I swear from the back he looks like a tiger cub and when he is on his back nestled in my arms he looks like a fox. There is a book called "puppies for Dummys" You know, 1 of the dummy books. Look at the front and that is what his face looks like. Not exactly but close. Will send a picture soon. Little teddy bear. the vet said she swears she necer saw one so cute. He is a bear. Like the snuggle bear. I'm taking lots of pics because I know he will get bigger before we know it. His name is Tanner.
He is only 10 weeks old.
Have a wonderful night everyone!

Myra, I have those days too. Sometimes it happens on the weekend when I stay home. It'll pass.

Terri, Tanner sounds sooooo cute! I love puppies. I would be kissing him every minute. Can't wait to see a picture.

Zoe, points, points, points!! Could make you nuts but after a while it becomes a habit. My coworkers are always asking me "how many points is this". I can look at something & know. Are you still on the happy high? ;) We need for that to rub off on some people. To answer you about the gym, my brother is a personal trainer & he's on a website called wellcoaches.com He's the Head Coach. I am so proud of him. He's doing very well. He wants to open up his own gym & wants me to be his manager & my husband a personal trainer. I would be buffed!!!!! (only kidding)Wishful thinking.

Hi Jen & Dianne :)

Have a good evening guys.

Myra, hang in there. I came home after running errands all day and was starving....I'm downing as much water as I can now, so I don't go into the kitchen and munch. Good luck.

Zoe, good luck with your weigh in. I'm glad we're at the point where, as you said, we'll post no matter if it's a loss, a gain, or a maintain. I didn't want to post my gain, but am glad I did!

Terri, congratulation on your new addition! I'll bet he's just adorable. Cute name too! Are your kids in love with him already? May you all have a happy fun future together!

Diane, how's it going?

I start school next week....after 30 years! I'm just starting w/a computer class to get my feet wet. I am looking forward to it though.

Good Evening Y'all ~

Just got in from my meeting and I'm doing the "thank you Jesus" dance. I lost 4.4lbs this week!! For a grand total of 14.4 in 2 weeks!! Woo Hoo.....Yippee.....Yahoo!!! I'm dancing here....can you see me????

Myra ~ So sorry that you're having a rough day. Tomorrow will be better....rest up, you're probably exhausted from your trip.
I haven't had those munchies in the last 2 weeks but I DO get 'em and when I do, I get 'em big.

Terri ~ I didn't know about your dog Bucky but how wonderful you now have a new puppy. I have wonderful yorkie/taco bell dog mix who is 5 yrs old and puppy-sized, even full grown. Her name is Zoe (duh...) Have fun with Tanner.

Essie ~ hubby has been better with asking me about his points. I still have to figure his din-din but the other night, we had our big meal for lunch (Sunday) and light for dinner and he made his own and told ME how many points he had. Yeah! it can only get better. :) And don't knock the "buffed" idea.....take that job and you sure will!

Jen ~ Good for you on starting school. I would love to do that but just can't do it at night. Good luck!

Dianne ~ where you be girl??

Hi all. Sorry for all the depression yesterday. I'm determined for today to be a better day. I am a little bummed that I won't be able to make my meeting. My DH can't take me and I am still without car. Plus the weather is supposed to be bad. What I am going to do is weigh myself at home and pretend that is my WI. I'll let you know how that goes.

Myra, Sorry you still don't have the use of your car. We'll be waiting to hear the results of your weigh in. That, to me, shows true commitment, that you're doing an "official"weigh in on your own.

Jen ~ Thanks to you too for the pats on the back. I need to start taking lessons from you and start getting out and walking. I need exercise now. YUK!!

Myra,
You did post a loss, which is great considering that you struggled this week. The munch-bug didn't get the better of you, you didn't gain. Now you start fresh again for the week, good luck!

We had pasta for dinner this evening. Lately I don't even like to make it, as it's one of my "trigger" foods.....once I start I can't stop! But I feel pretty good about dinner, kept my portion size small, even tho I think it's a crock to call a portion of pasta only 1 cup!

It was COLD when I took my walk today! I'm going to check out our village's fitness center on Sunday. It's the 1 yr. anniversary of the health center, they're having an open house. It's got a pool, tons of machines, and an indoor walking/running track. I've never stepped foot in a health club or gym, but I've got to do something.

Let's all have a great Friday!

Hello Everybody :)

Zoe, I have a chihuahua. Her name is Susie & she's 8 yrs. old. I got her when she was 8 weeks. She's mixed so she doesn't have those pop eyes. She is soooooo cute & very chubby. She weighs 13 lbs. She's a good girl & loves kids. I love her more than words can say.

I'm going to a dinner tonight. My church pays for it. They do this every year. This is the first year I'm going. I heard it's a very fancy restaurant. I don't know what they'll be serving

Jen, that's why I invested in a treadmill. I'm not too crazy about walking in the cold. I like the gym but my treadmill is for those days that I can't make it.

Myra, 1/2 lb is good! Better than a gain right?

Ooops gotta call hubby. Be back later.

Where can I sign up to join your Church? That is nice. It is so hard when it is free.
I would love to see your baby too. She sounds adorable. Mine hops. Soooooo cute!
I love my treadmill too.

Jen,
Good luck with Pasta. I hate when I have a trigger food. That Health Center sounds nice. Lots of good things to help with the boredom of doing the same thing over and over.

Zoe,
Can't wait to see ZOE! I can't wait to get my pictures back of Tanner.

Well, I haven't been doing too great with points. I have actually been way under the minimum. The day I got Tanner I ate 6 total and the second day I had 12. Yesterday I had 14. Getting up there. I think I finally have become comfortable enough to get back into my routine. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//insane.gif

Hi Ladies ~

Another long day. We only just got home a short while ago and I am so ready to go to bed. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//sleep.gif

Jen ~ I love pasta too. I eat way too many carbs and it's all in the form of pasta ~ some bread but lots of pasta. I need to curb that some.

Essie ~ I want a chihuahua so much!! Yours must be adorable! 13 pounds!! That is chubby. :) Zoe is 9 pounds but has yorkie in her. I love my Zoe too ~ she's great. She's 5 yrs old now.
My church is televised too. It's Cathedral of Praise in Arlington, TX. The TV show is called Overcoming Faith Television.

Terri ~ I had some trouble with my points too but not under. Yesterday I had 30 when my high should be 27. I guess it's ok because I usually 'bank' some and never used them so I'll be ok. I still have 4 days.

Hi Myra ~ hope you're doing well too.

Good night Y'all. I'll be around some tomorrow, Sunday for sure.

Hello Everybody :D

Zoe, who is your Pastor? I watch John Haygee(sp?) Sunday mornings. I think he's from Texas.

Last night's dinner turned out well. Only thing, I felt like it was too much food. Salad, pasta (delicious)then chicken breast with some gravy, red potatoes & vegetables. Last but not least coffee & cake. After the pasta I was full so I only had a taste of the chicken & I ate the vegetables. I couldn't pass on the cake. It was too good.

My SIL's, sister-in-law lost 60 lbs. on WW. I've known her for many years & she's just like me when it comes to diets. She tried everything! This is the first time she stuck to it. When I hear about a big loss I can't figure why I can't get serious & loss the stinkin 20 lbs. I need to lose. I play around too much with this program. Sorry if it sounds like I'm whining

As soon as I sign off I'm going to plan my daily menu. I have to do it day by day cause if I plan for the whole week it never works out. I wind up having something else.

Have a great day, Terri, Dianne?, Myra, Jen & Zoe.

Essie, you're not whining! It sounds as tho you did well at the dinner. Those were good choices. Hang in there, and don't beat yourself up. Life is too short to make losing weight the be-all and end-all. It'll happen if we give it a good effort and stick with it.

Terri, I don't know how you can stay so low with your points! I must have a big appetite. This week I've made a big change in my eating habits; I've been eating my dinner when I get hungry, usually at 5:30 or 6:00. And most nights I've eaten alone, as Joe sometimes isn't even home yet. For years I was in the "everyone sit down to dinner together" mode; when the kids were growing up it was important to me that we eat together as a family. Joe and I have continued to do so, resulting in me sometimes waiting till 7:30 or 8:00 to eat dinner with him. I've finally realized that it's way too late, that I end up eating too much. Since I've changed to eating earlier, I'm not ravenous at dinner. Hopefully this will help me see a loss. How's Tanner? Waiting to see those photos!! And, no, I haven't forgotten to send you mine. My sister said she's got a good one of me from Christmas, I'm waiting to receive it!

Dianne, where are you? I miss your posts!

Myra, Zoe, I hope you're both having a good weekend.

take care everyone!
~Jen

Hi guys -- I missed you all too! Things have been a little hectic at work and at home and so haven't had much "puter" fun time to spare.

I'm feeling a little sad today -- I don't know if I ever mentioned this to you guys but my husband's son is living with a real "fatal attraction" type person, who is, in my opinion, psychotic. But anyway, they have this beautiful 10 month old baby boy named Cristian. They live only 10 mins from our home, but do to the fact that she has done nothing but cause trouble in our entire family, she is not allowed in our home. And since she can't come here, she won't allow him to bring the baby to see us. It's really sad, she controls my step-son and he seems to fear her, so the whole family suffers. His own mother can't see the baby, because this girl hates his mother with a passion. We use to see them frequently since they lived so close and the baby was very attached to us, he knew us and stayed with us if they went out, etc. Well, since we haven't seen him since October, and my step-son called to ask his dad a favor, my husband said, I'll do you that favor if we get to see the baby this weekend. Imagine, he had to bribe his son to see our grandson! So last night he brought the baby to us and he sneaked out, so the baby wouldn't see him leave. Well, as soon as he noticed his father was gone, he started crying and we could do nothing to stop his tears. I felt so bad, this was a child who came to me in a second and I was always able to calm him down and now I couldn't. Well, he cried so much, that he fell asleep. When he woke up, he started crying again. It was awful. Finally my step son came to pick him up. He just doen'snt know us and they way things are going he probably won't ever.

Anyway, at least we got to see him. We are hoping that eventually my step son will wake up and realize that he's losing his whole family because of this woman. He just does whatever she says so not to start trouble. Believe me the family didn't make this decision on the spur of the moment. We have given her chance after chance to change the way she behaves, but she won't do it and we are tired of her trying to destroy everyone's relationships within the family.

Sorry, that was a long, story, but that's what's been going on with me for the last few days.

I'm glad you are all okay and will talk to you again soon.

Dianne
