G'day all,
I very tentatively started this new thread, it is 90 isn't??? :D ;)
Happy birthday to Margot.
Another very hot day here, no relief in sight till well after the weekend, total firebans just about right across the country.
We see the snow that some of you are having on TV, it seems to be from one extreme to the other.
Because so many people now have air conditioning, warnings are going out that because of the high consumption of electricity we could have power cuts :(. the suggestion is to turn off your airconditioner when demand is highest e.g early afternoon, that also happens to be when it is the hottest part of the day :confused:. You can imagene how many people will turn of their airconditioners, none that I know of :cool:
Have a great day all
Cheers

Hi Maria.. Yep, it's #90... http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif I have started a thread and left off "important" information too. This one is perfect :cool:
Wow, you sure get hot summers. I don't know if I could take all the high temps. I guess you have to get used to it.
I have a couple of links you gals might be interested in for making "Easy Brownie Muffins: angelfire.com/journal/wwrecipes/easy4.htm
and "Fair Chocolate Muffins"
They are similar and use brownie mix, unprocessed bran and orange or apple juice. I would still add some craisins to the mix. I will be trying them on the weekend. :D There are a lot of good WW recipes at angelfire. Check it out.
Good night all.... have a great day tomorrow :D

Hi Everybody
Maria LOL http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif yes this is number 90. Boy we live in a funny world. Some of us roasting and some of us are freezing our tush's off. But we adapt just like the animals do I guess.
Lela Hi there. Good for you down 1#. :) I'll try making it with lemon jello/yogurt too. I love lemon flavoured desserts. I made a lemon slice for Tea Time on Tuesday that is fairly low in points. I got it from cookinglight.com. It's called "Easy Lemon Squares. It was very nice.
It's time for me to say good night.
Night all. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//sleep.gif

Hello Everyone
Thank you for the birthday wishes! I had a pretty quiet day and went out to dinner with DH and DD. I even had dessert ! OK I only ate 1/2 portion http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif DH called the restaurant ahead so they printed a menu with "Happy Birthday Margot" at the top. Pretty Cool!
It is late and I'm tired - getting older does that LOL

Happy Belated Birthday, MARGOT. I was out of town yesterday and didn't have a chance to check the board.
I just posted the recipe I mentioned the other day. It is called chili cheese soup and is listed under soups and stews. It's delicious and very simple to make.
Gotta go. There are chores to be done before I leave for work. Have a great day, all.

Maria: We are having the same thing here with Power Cut outs. They have even cut the power on some parts of large buildings. DH work does it quite a bit.
Lela: Congrats on the loss! Thanks for the web site on the skinny cows. Doesnt look like they carry them in my stores. But I will keep and eye out for them! Looks like they are just in Southern Cal right now. ALAS...
Trudy: Those muffin recipes look good! I know everytime I add Orange to something its always mosit and adds great flavor to it to!
I will be making some!
Margot: Glad you had a great Birthday! Nice of Hubby to have that done for you!
Slavika: Love that Cooking light! I get the subscription on it. Cept it didnt show up last month. (You just reminded me) Hum.........
Marsha: Off to check out that recipe! Sounds good!
Congrats on the pound lost Lela. You are doing well.
Happy Belated Birthday Margot. Your DH must be a sweetie to take the time to arrange for the special menu. I don't know if I would have only eaten 1/2 my dessert on my special day. I feel sure I would have convinced myself that I "deserve" a whole one. Of course, that is why I am fat----I have deserved a whole lot of thing.
Hopefully I am on the right track. I have been OP for 10 days now. I think I am going to start printing the # of OP days at the end of my posts. I need some kind of accountability now that I don't get to go to meetings.
Thanks for the address to the Mole site. I have bookmarked it and will probably visit it often.

G'day all
Very busy day, getting ready to travel to Melbourne (10 hours drive) first thing in the morning. We will be towing a trailer with all daughter's 'stuff' and our 4x4 wheel drive will be absolutely filled to the maximum.
Temperature are in the mid 40's (well over 100F) certainly will test out a few things, temper, car and ability to stay OP ;D;D
See you when I get back have a great weekend all.
Cheers

Hi Everybody Well I went to the dentist today to see what trouble the "alleged cookie" caused~~~~~and it did cause some. That tooth (bottom eye tooth) and the one next to it had root canals and caps put on about 30 years ago and I cracked part of it under the gum someplace. :( The dentist "cememted" it in to stablize it and said it might stay good for 2 months or 2 years. I am to call him on Monday and let him know how it feels. In the future I will likely have to have those caps removed and he will have to see exactly what is going on with those teeth. I hope it stays ok until I get home from holidays. :)
TRUDY Thank you for the recipe for the "Outback Steakhouse Bushman's Bread". I made it today and it's excellent.
GERI 10 days OP, good for you. Once I was OP for a whole week, writing everything down, drinking water, exercising I should do it again too.
MARIA Geez, 40 degrees. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//insane.gif That's too hot even for me and I love warm weather. Good luck on the "journey" and we'll "talk" when you get back.
I have not heard from DEE but she might be spending time at the hospital with her DD. I phoned today and sent an e-mail.
I guess that it for me. I'll check back later.

Well, we are never too old to learn "new tricks". I was over at Dotti's board and read how to post to a reply and be able to read the whole thread at the same time, "just like you can do at 3FC" they said. :confused: So I came here to try it, and it works. In case I am not the only one who DIDN'T KNOW THIS ~ this is how it is done. On the thread you want to reply to click on REPLY at the TOP OF THE THREAD, right hand corner. The posting box opens up and below it is a little scroll window, ~ there are all the posts, so you can reply to the individual gals without trying to remember what everyone said. So :cool: !
Marsha..that recipe for Chili Cheese Soup looks really good. I will try that!
Lily and Margot..I saw on the news tonight that you gals are having some rough weather, and looks like you will also be experiencing more power shortages..everyone has problems with the weather. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//dizzy.gif
Margot..that is a real keepsake, a menu printed just for you http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//love.gif.
Geri..that is great your being OP for 10 days. You sure are committed.
Maria..Bye and have a great weekend. Looks like you will have to be strong on this little trip. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif
Slavika..Just asking, but did you know about this "little scroll window" (hee hee) http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif (It isn't very often I find out something before you do) :D
We went to a funeral today for an "old friend". Hadn't seen him for many years, he was an alcoholic, and drove eveyone away including his wife, children, family and friends. He died alone in an old apt block in a run down part of the city, he had been smoking and was drunk. He was the only casualty in the fire, the other tenants got out. It was so sad.
Well, I hope everyone else had a great day. "See" you all tomorrow... Goodnight.

I read about it on Dottie's that day I registered, AND I meant to check and see if we could do it on 3FC and "ALAS" I forgot.
But you are right, it sure is a great tool to have and I will certainly use it. Thank you my friend for bringing it to light. :)

Well Hello all,
I wonder did I miss someting on the last thread. For some reason It won't come up.. Can't figure out why. My DH had a friend of his load an update to Netscape on Tuesday and I've had trouble ever since. I've always used the Internet Explorer and now I have to deal with this. Guess I'll get used to it but am wondering if that is why I can't read #89.
Happy birthdat Margot. Sorry I didn't get to you sooner. Glad you had a nice time at dinner and you only ate 1/2 of your dessert. You are a wonder woman.
We are in the middle of a January Thaw. It's been great but I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Meeting were nuts this week but I am through until Monday and plan to enjoy tomorrow . Do have to plan next weeks meeting but took a look at it and looks like fun.
Went to the doctor to day and was told that I have the Minnesota Crud. And it was moving to my lungs so got some pills for that. Get to thank DH for it. Next week is the Scope thing.
I don't remember who lost what this week but to those of you who did :) :) :) **** :) :) Happy dance for you .
Slavika sorry about you tooth :eek:
I'll check in tomorrow and see whats going on.

I finally was able to get into #89 and was able to catchup on the conversations. Some of you were talking about the new Food Companions. Any way I wanted to tell what I had done to mine. I took them to Office Max and had them rebound with a spiral binding so now when I use them they lay flat and I use them all the time. I totally agree that the new ones are great. I like the section on Local Favorites in the Dining out. also my very favorite Fast Food place is in there Taco Johns on Tuesdays when I get up in my journal I write down the 18 points :rolleyes: that I'm going to eat for supper at Taco Johns. I go once a week, can't afford 18 points for one meal every day but once a week works out.

Maria: Have a fun trip! Sounds pretty hot! Hope you got lots of water!
Slavika: Hopefully your fixed tooth will last through your trip! Maybe I should go in your place just in case ya think? http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//spinning.gif Lets us know when you hear from Dee!
Trudy: I seem to remember that clicking on the top reply button did that. Thanks for reminding me as I havent used that in a while!
Looks like its gonna be a nice day for a change today. At least the sun is out! Hopefully the lights will go out and they will send me home! (Yeah right!) :rolleyes:
Karen: Sometimes I have problems loading the threads to. I think its the banners but Im not sure. I just keep hitting reload until it comes up. Usually does after the first one. Great idea about the Food Companion. Im gonna do that, will make it easier tolook for things. Sides mine already broke away from the cover. ALAS...........

Hi Friends,
Lily: Cutting the power in the work place?? Sounds like the workers would have to go home. Is that how it works? :confused: Real strange weather your way!
Lela: Great loss for you! :D Every pound counts!
Margot: Sorry I missed your b'day. Just checking the board from my trip to Arkansas. Hope you had a great day. Sounds like DH treated you good on your special day! :D
Geri: Congrats on the 10 days OP and 3.5# loss!! You GO GIRL!! I'm in my "waiting for motivation" mode. What a see-saw I stay on. You gals all seem real motivated and that's what I need to hear. If I want to post a weight loss I will need to get with the program! http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//umm.gif
As I mentioned last week, I'm going to visit my brother in Gulf Shores, AL tomorrow until Tues., so I won't commit to anything just yet. (What an excuse, huh?)
Maria: Hope all goes well on your trip to move DD. Can't believe how hot it is there. You'll be hearing that from us in about 6 months! How cold does it get in winter there?
Trudy: So sad about your friend that died in the fire. Alcohol sure can cause alot of grief and loneliness.
Karen: I've been burnt by updates also. My theory is: If it ain't broke, don't fix it! My daughter got me to update EarthLink on her pc. Caused all kind of conflicts. I just got in there and uninstalled the new one and went back to the old familiar one that was working just fine. Sorry to hear you're sick. What day is the scope next week? It'll be good to find out exactly what going on and what can be done to fix it.
BTW, we had a wonderful trip visiting the college in Arkansas that Missy will attend in the fall. It's a beautiful and small campus. The dorm is fabulous. We even left a deposit for her room. Things are falling into place. Now we begin grant and scholarship apps!
Well, I'm going to read the thread I missed last week. I'll "see" you all next Wed. Have a great OP weekend, everyone! :)

HI Everybody Geez KAREN "Minnisota Crud" does not sound like anything anybody would want to get. :( What is it??? LOL.
LILY now don't you be packing up your bags, I'm going to Maui with or without my "TOOTH". http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif
JOSIE I know what you mean about being in "WAITING FOR MOTIVATION MODE", I'm there a lot. LOL. Have a safe trip to Gulf Shores and we will hear from you on Wed.
~~~~Had "Baba Day" today with the Princess. A few years ago my friend put in a bid for a box of "something" at the border Customs. One thing that was in the box was three long lengths of fabric used for "sari's" that Hindu women wear as a garment. She gave the fabric to me but I could never think of anything to do with it. One length is sheer sort of curtain like material in a very very bright pink with a border of metallic gold design about 6 inches wide on the top and the bottom. Anyway I wrapped this all around the Princess and put on a ton of old jewelry on her and boy she thought she was "Queen of the Land". I took a few pictures of her too, I hope they turn out.
I'll come back later to see who else stopped by.
Josie: Sounds like all is going to work out well with Missy. Have a great trip! And "see" you when you get back!
Slavika: Darn! You just like to spoil all my fun dont you?? I was hoping I would come back in here and you would say: "Pack those bags Lily you are right I should stay home" but ALAS.... :rolleyes:
Everyone have a great night!
Hi everyone,
Was hoping there would be something from Dee, but alas, there is not.
Slavika, sorry about your tooth. Hope that the cement lasts forever. But, to be sure, I think I would have it fixed before you go to Maui. The last thing you need is to be looking for a dentist for major work like that on the islands. That is too much time to be out of the sun.
Karen has Minnesota Crud. Is that the same thing as Texas Crud? I sure hope you get to feeling better.
Lily, you guys are having real problems with the power business aren't you? What is causing the trouble? My DH says it has something to do with the strict pollution laws you have. Is that true?
Josie, I am glad you like Missy's college and dorm. It helps to feel a peace about where your child is. Enjoy your trip to Gulf Shores. My brother and his family go there every July. His in-laws take the family.
I had company for dinner tonight. I just fixed spaghetti, but they seemed to enjoy it. I have been "under the weather" for the last 3 days. Just a cold, but making me miserable.
Maria, I envy you your hot weather. I don't like the cold. We had snow about a week ago. That is very unusual here. Have a good trip to Melbourne.
Trudy, why don't you post the recipe for the Outback bread? I will bet we will all enjoy that. I am going to try Marsha's soup recipe next week. It sounds good.
Josie glad you liked the college like Geri said it makes it easier when you like the place you child will be .hope you
you have a nice time at Gulf Shores
Yes TrudyPlease do post the bread recipe I would love to try it
guess i'll try and go back to sleep , my DH twin is suppose to come over to morrow to work on a boat I know this sound bad but I hope that my SIL stays home.
Hi Everybody I think DH and I are going to take my computer in today to have the "fan" replaced. I was hoping it would wait until I was gone on holidays and they would fix it then, but it is making strange noises so I think it's better it goes in now.
I may be without a computer for a bit. :(
GERI I think the dentist wanted to just fix my tooth as best he could so that I would have some peace of mind while on holidays, and hopefully it would last for 2 years or so. If this does not work I have to have the caps removed off a couple of the teeth and he will have to see what is going on down there. The other major problem is my partial is hooked on "THAT" tooth so that also would require some work. It feels good now so hopefully it will be ok.
TRUDY yes, share the bread recipe with the gals they will love it. :)
Ok, I have to run now, if I'm off line you gals will know why. Have a great day everybody. :)
Happy Saturday!
Just came back from WW and I was down 2. That's my reward for 1/2 dessert on my birthday http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif well, and for staying OP!
DH and I went to Target Stars on Ice last night and saw Scott Hamilton , Kristi Yamaguchi , Tara Lipinkski and (for my Canadian friends) Kurt Browning. It was a wonderful show and it is Scott hamilton's final tour. Lots of fun!
Probably lots more fun than Maria. I hope she's drinking lots of water - of course than she has to make lots of pit stops!
Geri I think you are great counting your OP days! They are certainly adding up!
Lilly I think we avoided power outages pretty much but I had to drive to Sacramento & back on thursday during the storm. No fun! First one to Southern Cal checks out Skinny Cow!
Slavika Those old cavities/fillings/dental work keep coming back for all of us. It just deosn't stay fixed forever - they didn't tell us that 40 years ago when they were first little cavities....
Karen 18 points!! Better be really good stuff :eek:
Slavika: Oh No! No Puter????????? Hope you get it back soon! A Fan shouldnt take long.
Margot: Woo Hoo! Another 2 gone!!!!!! You Go! I did change the chart for you to. You always impress me when I change it. You at at 50% now. Thats totally awesome!!!!!!!!
I'm hoping the Skinny Cows will get up here soon. I could always have my sister mail them to us cept I dont think they would make the trip. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//lol.gif It's also gonna be another thing I will have to hide from DH.
Trudy: Outback Bread? The Pumpernickel kind?
Yummmmmmmmm! Is it low in points? Nothing in that restarant is cept maybe the bread. I would like to see it to. Cuz it is good!
Just dont be making thier fries! Dont know what the point value on them is. But probably 200 pt. (They are made with melting cheese and bacon, and come with a ranch style dressing that is probably another 100 pt) Had to look for it at Dotties and the fries are: Aussie Cheese Fries 32 points :eek: :eek: :eek:
Hi Everybody My son was over today and he contacted the computer people (you know the ones LILY keyboards for donuts people. LOL :D Anyway my son thinks its the power supply thingme that is making noise so told the computer people to order the part. Of course my computer was running perfectly all the time my Son was here just as it did when I took it in to the computer repair people. YIKES....I really think that THEY think I am nuts. :eek:
LILY Geez, $350.00 to Hawaii what a great fare. :) We pay $1300.00 CDN. each.
That includes the flight on Hawaiian Air from Honolulu to Maui. We were lucky because this year we had enough in Air Travel points for one flight. :cool:
TRUDY & LILY the Outback bread recipe is excellent but next time I would cut back a wee bit on the honey. It's a little on the sweet side. It sure makes up into nice little loaves. I can't believe the points count on the fries. They have an Outback Rest. in Maui too. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//dizzy.gif
Hello girls! I'm back, I think. Alas, I'm many pounds heavier, so here I go again and I need help! I see so many new names, I'm looking forward to reacquainting myself with old friends and meeting new ones.
It's been a bad time the last few months, but I finally decided that since I can't change any thing or any one but myself, I'd better get started again. For those that might remember and are interested, still no word from Erica. My mom is getting somewhat worse and we are thinking about a nursing home.
My New Year's resolution is not to lose weight like it has been for the past 5 years, but to laugh more often. (Hopefully while I am laughing, some pounds will fall off). Seriously though, I am starting back to WW tomorrow night. I am also going to try the gym again. I have had a frozen shoulder for 2 months and have been having horrible pain with that. So I'll have to go easy for awhile. Has anyone had this condition? What did you do? I have been going to a Chiropractor, have had one shot of cortizone and am now trying to take care of it on my own with stretching exercises and taking Celebrex.
Cal, I noticed you just had a birthday. Belated happy day wishes to you. I see you are still the queen of weight loss and still an inspiration to all.
Geri, so you are back on track? I didn't know you were off. Well, I'm going to try to follow your example.
Slavika, getting ready for another wonderful holiday? Good for you. I still love reading your stories.
Everyone else, I need time to catch up, but it's great to "see" all of you!
Good Evening, Everyone.
Today was WI and I was disappointed to gain .5# - just proves my theory that I can't eat at the top of the points range or bank points and use them and still lose. I was OP every day this week, but did eat out at my favorite Chinese restaurant Friday and needed every one of my ten banked points to stay that way. Oh, well, I'll do better next week. I'm a Weigh and Stay-er, KAREN; the meetings are important. When I lose my motivation, the meetings can help me get it back. The other members always have useful tips and inspiring and funny stories to tell. This week's topic was meal planning and there were a lot of suggestions for new recipes to try. We are going to have a contest next week for the best new low-point snack. I'm not sure if we are supposed to bring a recipe or a sample! I could use some help, gals - any suggestions for something unusual would be appreciated.
BTW, KAREN, did you ever tell us what Minnesota Crud is?? Inquiring minds want to know!
Welcome back SILVERGAL, I'm one of the new members of this group who've joined in the last few weeks, and I'm sorry to hear you've had troubles. I'll look forward too getting to know you. I'm afraid I don't know what a frozen shoulder is, but I hope it clears up soon.
GERI and LELA, hope you are feeling better.
MARIA, glad you had a good trip to Melbourne. I can't imagine 120-deg heat, but I'm not too happy with the cold, gloomy days we are having here (Louisiana) right now. It rained all day today and we've seen the sun for about fifteen minutes in the last two days. More of the same is in the forecast. I wish I were going to Maui, too! When do you leave, SLAVIKA? In a couple of weeks, isn't it? Just enough time for all the housecleaning you HAVE to do before you go so everything will be perfect when you get back, right? That's just what I do, too. (After all, I wouldn't want the cat sitter to think i'm not a spotless housekeeper!).
Well, gotta go. Have a good night, all.
