Packaged Meals and Clinics - Nutrisystem, Medifast, Jenny Craig, Etc - Jenny vs Nutra SystemView Full Version : Jenny vs Nutra System nanci8 06-09-2009, 11:54 AM I would like some help I am going to try one of these food systems but I am torn on which to choose. Which food tastes the best? Thanks Nanci Newshinyme 06-12-2009, 06:39 PM Haven't tried Jenny. I am on NS and it is working very well for me. What swayed me was the fact that when I was doing my research, I read that there is a lot of pushing from JC to buy other stuff besides the food when you visit the centres and I preferred not having to visit one anyway. Good luck! streudel423 06-14-2009, 09:59 PM I've tried both. I lasted ONE day on NutriSystem. YUCK is all I can say! Alot of their food is shelf-stable, and I couldn't hold it down. I couldn't stand the smell either. I'm very tolerant of food and not a picky eater, but NS was just awful in my opinion. As for Jenny Craig, I think their food was delicious! The only reason I stopped was because I started looking into the ingredients on their food and noticed all the high fructose corn syrup, hydrongenated oils, etc. It tastes good, but it's because their food is loaded with alot of preservatives and junk. festivus 06-16-2009, 07:50 PM JC food is tasty, especially the mac and cheese!!! If you don't want to have to pick up your food at a center you can do Jenny Direct and have your food shipped to your house. Vickie 06-17-2009, 01:49 AM I've done both and stayed on JC. I'm down 29 pounds since mid January. It took me a while to figure out that I couldn't eat the breakfasts and desserts. Too much sugar. I thought they used artificial sweeteners but...nope. Husband stuck to NS and has lost 50.4 in the same amount of time. He exercises more than me but still.....he's doing good. Much better since he picks his own meals. I hated the food but some of the stuff he got to pick for himself....and their new frozen...looked pretty darned good. You can't get frozen JC food from Jenny Direct. MelodyAngel 06-26-2009, 11:09 PM I've been on NS for a couple of weeks now, and I really like most of the foods! I'm losing so far as well. I like being able to choose the meals myself. mist72 06-28-2009, 09:47 PM I've been on JC for almost 1.5 years. They continually add new foods and have only found a few that I haven't liked, I just don't order them any more! I'm on Jenny Direct, so I don't go to a center, just talk with a consultant over the phone. Here's an article that someone else posted in another thread: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124528629139325895.html wanttobethinandtrim 07-01-2009, 11:59 AM I have not done either but have friends that have done both and they both like them. I'm looking in to doing it and my big thing will be the price. Bajachick3 08-28-2009, 11:09 PM I am on Jenny and I like it.. Sometimes I eat market frozen food especially if it is lower calories or fat. oseybaby 09-02-2009, 04:51 AM I lasted 2 days on Nutri system, couldn't eat the food. The amount of food was miniscule, and lots of outside shopping needed. nineoceansaway 09-06-2009, 11:07 AM Ive tried NS and now am on Jenny Craig. Let me tell you, the JC food is DELICIOUS! Ive never really loved frozen food, but the jc food is good. I also like being able to speak with my consultant each week and have her track all my measurements and weight. Those are the two aspects I prefer over NS. MelodyAngel 09-09-2009, 02:11 AM Just an update...I've been on NS now for almost 3 months, and I've lost 28 lbs.!! I am super happy with it so far!:) dimples4389 09-26-2009, 11:52 AM ive never tried nutri .. but i love jenny thus far and i have been hearing jeeny food is better dimples4389 09-26-2009, 11:53 AM have you made a decision yet? ciecie 09-30-2009, 05:40 PM i'm on nutrisystem. i like most of the foods. the ones that i don't like i don't order. i lost 45 pounds on it. FattyFatFat 10-01-2009, 04:45 PM I would like some help I am going to try one of these food systems but I am torn on which to choose. Which food tastes the best? Thanks Nancihttp://top5choices.com/-pics-/wl_nutris.jpg In all honesty, the best way is to see if you can get a sample or buy 1 week of each and see which you like best. While some may hate food from one program, another will just love it, so it's all according to your taste and what you like to eat. There is a thread on here somewhere that had some comparisons that was really detailed... I'll try to find it now and come back and put a link to it. ciecie 10-01-2009, 06:45 PM nutrisystem is sometimes at big lots. you may want to look there if you have one near you. liamylime 10-04-2009, 06:06 PM I've been on NS since the end of August and I've lost 19 lbs. I have another 5 to go. I'm really satisfied with the results and the amount of food did take some getting used to. Some of the food can be purchased at Big Lots or even on eBay. NS ROCKS!!! jefferzzzz 10-04-2009, 06:26 PM nutrisystem is sometimes at big lots. you may want to look there if you have one near you. That's what I was going to post! I found it today at Big Lots... I do however prefer Jenny Carig food over Nutri-system by a long shot. But, Jenny Craig is alot more expensive too! There were some nasty foods on Nutrisystem, but there were also some on Jenny Craig, so don't let that stop ya from trying either one. I think it just depends on the person. I would really find a local Big Lots to try the Nutrisystem before you buy though. ciecie 10-04-2009, 10:41 PM i use ww smartones, stouffer's lean cuisine, fiber one pancakes, fiber one muffins, quaker weight control oatmeal, and the kashi cereals for variety. zeitlin5 10-19-2009, 06:03 PM From what I've read in diet magazines, it seems that lots of people like the Jenny C food better, although it will cost you lots more. (Jenny has an initiation fee of about $400, unless you take advantage of a program like 20 pounds for $20, but that will only buy you about 10 weeks of access.) NutriSystem did debut something called NutriSystem Select this January, which includes frozen foods. A story in the WSJ gave some of the cuisine pretty good reviews-- so that could be worth a try if you go the NS route. ciecie 10-19-2009, 06:22 PM welcome 3 fatchicks zietlin5! $400.00 initiation fee for jenny craig-YIKES! i'll stick with nutrisystem. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
