There is simply no justification for starting an 11th thread. This horse is beyond beaten. The inmates have shown no ability to follow the rules on the first 10; why expect them to change. Which brings us to the topic:

The topic is change.

There is to be no off topic chit chat.

Kindly conform.

Nothing can compare with the hideous statue in San Jose, Ca. It is an eight foot tall statue of Quetzalcoati an Aztec God , actually a serpent, or to us common folk , a snake. There was a picture of it in the paper with the subtitle "Aesthetic Crime Scene ", another reporter refers to it as a pile of dog poop. I agree with both. It is beyond ugly.

dutchgirl

I flatout refuse to use a purse.
I have a backpack that contains half my life with room to spare for a book and my lunch and it goes everywhere with me. I never worry about having forgotten something when I change purses to match my outfit or any of that kind of stuff. I guess I am just not a girly girl, I am a jeans 'n t-shirt tomboy with a backpack.

Ruthxxx
06-28-2009, 05:56 AM
I'm with you on the purse thing. My sartorially correct sister says I should use one as "It's the adult thing to do!" Duh! I have pockets and, in a pinch, stash things in my bra. (Set off the security in the airport once from my cell phone.) Back in the bad old days, I had an attache case and a frassing purse and kept losing the purse. I've yet to lose my bra.

EZ, have you considered a bra?

WebRover
06-28-2009, 08:41 AM
I rarely carry a purse and when I do I am highly likely to leave it behind or fret about leaving it behind. Since I stash stuff in my pockets, I have to keep pockets in mind when I buy clothes, which further limits choices. Sadly as sizes get smaller, so do pockets. I carry a small wallet, a personal cell phone, a company blackberry, a key chain with one electronic key and change daily.

I stash my badge and checkbook in my lunchbox. Whenever I decide I don't need my lunchbox as I'm eating out, I end up at work with no way to get in the building. :o (Receptionist doesn't get there will 7:45 to sign out a badge; I get there about 7:30)

Anytime I do start to carry a purse, it starts collecting junk - receipts, extra change, coupons, gift certificates, etc. - and getting heavy.
ETA: Hmmmm, just like my lunchbox is doing.

...kept losing the purse. I've yet to lose my bra.

OK, so it was my mom that kept losing her purse. But, I was scarred by it. That's a big part of why I never really got in the habit.

But, now I'm out on the dating market again, so I don't really want my butt and boobs looking all lumpy and bumpy. :s: Money and ID are OK, but, the phone and the camera tend to throw off the "look" I'm going for.

Anytime I do start to carry a purse, it starts collecting junk - receipts, extra change, coupons, gift certificates, etc. - and getting heavy.
ETA: Hmmmm, just like my lunchbox is doing.

That's why I got little, tiny one. It has just enough room for my phone and camera. I can get a few receipts in there, but, it'll have to be cleaned out regularly.

never thought about a nut-bra before....

Ruthie is The Great Modess Goddess :yoga: and can do whateva she wants. It's for your own good, so just accept her judgements and praise her for her wisdom.

Boy, I'm in full on kiss-butt mode today, aren't I. :o

And I'm only 5'. I think you are taller - in your mind anyhow.

I can do without sucking up for an hour or so as I just came from an event where you'd think I was recently descended from heaven. Boy, do they have it wrong! (It was a volunteer award presentation and a complete surprise. Of course I had on jeans and an old T-shirt instead of my velvet and pearls! Can hardly wait to see the pictures! :) )

I believe James Brown sang...It's A MAN'S World...thank-you...thank-you very much...

James Brown was a man too, and therefor inherently WRONG!!!
Besides, the next line is: it ain't nothing without a woman.
At least he had a vague idea.

Ruthie, they will love you no matter if you wear jeans and a t-shirt or velvet and pearls, as do we.
If you got an award, you probably jolly well deserved it, so enjoy!

Try not to hit 499 today, dear nutcases. I have a huge day ahead of me and just can't deal with it all. Tonight will definitely be Scotch night after we finish feeding the multitudes at the Church fundraiser. Next time I'll just write a cheque!

EZ that was Good Morning Everyone. The Morning was off-white and if you squint really hard, you can see it. Had to keep with the color scheme.

Maybe it's like those high pitched tones only the young can still hear....

Hubby has been working weekends. The weather has been great lots of sun and cool air. To bad we have not been able to enjoy many outside days.

Speaking of fireworks...do you remember your first "fireworks"?...Did you pay attention to safety precautions?
