Hello, all! I have a bad case of the "L" word. LAZY. Just LAZY. How do you get your motivation back when you have been out of the game for awhile?

Here's my story: I lost 20 pounds before conceiving, everything went GREAT with the pregnancy, and we have a healthy 18-month-old. I have managed to keep off the 20 pounds I lost initially (yay!), and even lost 10 more before Christmas last year. Five of those, though, I have found again over the past few months! Bleh.

I was doing Turbo Jam before and LOVED it (as much as you can love exercise!), so I don't know what my problem is! I have no excuses now about not having time to eat well and exercise, but I just cannot get going. "Next week" is always the best time to do it!

Share with me, please, what gets you going when you are stuck. I need a jump start! :D

Just feeling terrible about myself lately got me wanting to do something about it. Tired of being my own victim. Mad that I did this to myself. Sorry I have not started sooner. Angry I cannot look good in a swimsuit. Or tank tops. Or shorts. Or anything else for that matter. So I started again, because no one else was going to push me. Went and bought all new food, got rid of the junk, and vowed never again to weigh this much! you CAN start again. Do it now!

You could just start out walking...then you could add short spurts of jogging if you needed something more strenuous. Thats what I do.

LOL - I have always said I was born lazy! Everyone else says I'm efficient - that's just my disguise though. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out a way to make efficient apply to my diet / exercise. Also, I LIKE food, so I that's a struggle.

I just came out of a 6 week "slump". I gained 5 pounds over the holidays, then slacked for a few months, then just quit for a while. I'm back at it now. What got me going? My son had a pool party to attend, and I realized that I didn't want to take my swimsuit because I wouldn't be comfortable in it in front of the people I "kind of" knew.

One meal at a time. One day at a time. I exercise in the morning, first thing, so I can't procrastinate out of it. And I have more energy and focus during the day as a result. If I blow it and eat something I shouldn't, I can still do well the rest of the day.

I don't count calories (too much work), but I'm aware of them, and do a lot of portion control. The one place I do apply my "efficiency" is on meal planning. I write a menu for the week - all meals / snacks, etc for the whole family. Then I make a list, and that's all I get at the store. Amazing savings of both money and time. And I can't eat my son's snacks or he won't have enough and I'll have to go back to the store.
