I am: Kathy Bates & Delta Burke
We had a fun exercise at work today. We all sat in a room and wrote each others names down. Then we had to decide which tv character or movie character each of us was like.
Apparently I am Kathy Bates and Delta Burke.
Of course they had to pick fat actresses to be me.....Im not mad, cause it was all in fun, but kind of sad because Ive lost so much weight (64 lbs so far) and Iam still looked upon as the fat person of the office. Ive never ever lost this much weight and it just kind of sucks to know you have soooo far to go until you are no longer fat. I just cant keep from wondering if I can get there....can I actually friggign do it, and not just dream about it.
I guess I'll get over it but it just kind of made me sad at first........now Im even more determined to get this weight off for some reason. I guess Im saying to myself "Ill show you all!!"
Sigh...

Argh. My best friend describes me to others as looking exactly like Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa. I think she is an attractive lady, but she's in her 50's and fat too. Somehow, it bugs me.

I've been told on two different occasions that I resemble a fatter version of Winona Ryder. Why not just say that I resemble her? Why do they have to add the "fat" part?

I think Delta Burke is one of the most beautiful women in the world. I've met her in person and as pretty as she is on TV she is STUNNING in person. I'd be thrilled if someone said I looked like her!
I've had two people tell me I look like Elizabeth Montgomery (original Samantha from Bewitched). I do, kind of, just not as blonde (or perky!).

To be compared to an Academy Award winning actress and one of the most beautiful and funny women ever on TV is quite a compliment....

As a corporate trainer, I do a lot of activities like that. A game where I pick a list of celebrities and put names on people's backs and they have to go around the room and ask other people questions to find out "who" they are - that's one thing. Letting OTHER people decide a particular celebrity (not random) for a person? Recipe for DISASTER because people are IDIOTS.
I will say that Delta Burke is a lovely lady - remember that old football series First and 10 on HBO - man, she was a hottie. And of course, Kathy Bates is a talented woman. I would say she is plain as an ACTRESS (compared to Megan Foxes and Angelina Jolies) but she's perfectly attractive as a regular person (if that makes any sense).

Your picture is beautiful. Some people can just be insesitive, or unaware, don't spend to much time dwelling on it.

Are you sure it was a physical thing? Both seem like pretty strong women, so could it have been intended that way?

It hasn't happened to me with film stars but when I lost weight a few years ago, before I started and for a long time during, people got me mixed up with a colleague - well, same line of work but lived and worked nowhere near - who, even at my heaviest would have been about 50lbs heavier.
All through my weightloss, people confused me with her until one day.........................
they began confusing me with another colleague, who was normal sized - but 15 years older.
Sigh.
I have internal hawtness.

Delta Burke is gorgeous, IMO, and wicked sassy. And I love Kathy Bates - she seems very strong and real to me. That being said, I freaked out when that same activity labeled me as Rosie O'Donnel.

This. Exactly what I was thinking. Whoever ran that session needs to get some training.

This is what I thought. You're just setting it up to have people with hurt feelings. And not just fat people, what about the skinny guy, or the ditzy blonde, or the older person? That was crazy!
