Hi,
Is anyone out there using this plan? I see some older posts starting late last year but they seem to have ended around February of this year. I'm curious as to whether people were able to stick with the plan for the long term.

I've just started this week and aside from the INCREDIBLE amount of planning, time and energy this program requires :dizzy:, it does seem to be one that makes sense to me and after many failed attempts - I'm determined to be successful this time.

Hoping to find some helpful friends out there... Thanks!

There is a huge chat forum at http://www.provida.com that supports this program.

Very best of luck to you!

:smug: Hi Happy2bme,

I tried the plan (Michael Thurmond's Body Makeover) and lost 15#. I was much busier in my life at that time (preparing for a class reunion with all the activities involved) and it was August-September when lots of fresh fruit and veggies were in season. I felt pretty good on it but I missed my dairy products and cheeses and my fat free fudge bars. I lost 15# instead of the 30# he advertises because I did not want to give up salt completely. I bought every type of seasoning possible to make things tasty and used my George Foreman grill to make fish and chicken every day. It's a fairly easy plan (especially in the summer)and I've tried to go back again but Weight Watchers is much more lenient and offers a better variety. I have instead incorporated some of the things I learned on that plan to my weight watchers plan. Didn't realize that I could actually enjoy egg whites with hash browns and onions and mushrooms in an omelet each am---that was my breakfast every morning on that plan. I, also, carried turkey and fruit with me everywhere but I had to have the smoked turkey from the meat shop.
I've gained back the 15# since last September especially with the holidays, winter, and my less busy life. I'm hoping to start a fitness plan and incorporate all my diet plan knowledge into that starting today. Good luck on the plan. I hope some of my experience will help you along. :D :^:

Hi BrighterDays,

Thanks for sharing. After 2 weeks on the diet, I've lost 9 pounds mostly due to giving up the salt I think. Know what you mean, I miss my dairy - yogurt and fruit smoothies! What you mention is the same thing I'm finding myself. It's easier to be on this diet in the summer where you can grill foods ahead of time and have a fresh supply of tasty veggies and fruits to choose from. I was thinking ahead and wondering to myself how can I stick with this over the winter?

Like you, I think I will take away with me some of the good things I learned about good eating habits and the combination of foods that I need to work right for me and make some modifications so that I can stick with this for the long term. My Friday dinner is my treat of the week - off the plan and the thing that surprises me most is how tired and sluggish I feel after eating "regular" foods - so I know the plan is doing me good even if I do dream about a nice plate of spagetti and meatballs!

Best of luck to you with your Weight Watchers plan - there's something out there that works for everyone, we just have to find the one that we can live with!

Hi Happy2bme,

9 pounds? That's great! You sound like I did when I was on that plan. Keep up the great progress and good luck! :)
