Hello everyone!
I signed up for the The Biggest Loser's Pound for Pound Challenge today (last day to sign up is today, 5/31) at
http://pfpchallenge.com/.
I was curious if anyone else here is doing it? You can pledge a max of 50 pounds and General Mills will donate a pound of food to Feeding America, a national charity network of food banks. GM has promised to donate a minimum of $28,000, and up to $140,000, with the funds being given in June 2009.
An interesting note:
How will you determine which communities receive the grocery donations?
Feeding America will distribute funds donated by General Mills based on the zip codes of consumers who participate in the program. In other words, areas of the U.S. that participate most actively in the Pound For Pound Challenge stand to benefit most from the donations.
There seems to be no deadline to do it in, and it appears that General Mills is making their donation based on online pledges only. Am I missing something?
Not that I mind either way, I'm happy to get to lose weight for a good cause! Also thought I'd post this in case anyone wants to pledge today...
Thanks!
Sarah
