:?:Anyone out there on both Metaformin and Blood Pressure Medication?

I have been on BP meds for about 3 years, I was given Met today by my fertility doctor. I read on-line this evening that these two medications have negative effects when taken together.

I'm going to call the pharmacists tomorrow but thought I'd check to see if anyone can shed some light for me.

Can you tell I'm afraid to take the Metaformin? :?:

I spoke with the pharmacists and he said there are no side effects between the Hydraclorathiazide and Metformin. Just thought I'd update you all.

I have been taking the Metformin for 3 days now.

I too take Metformin and a bp med -- Atenolol (I forget what the generic name is - not sure if it's hydrachlorathiazide or not). These two go fine together. Hopefully though the Met will help me get down to a healthy weight that will in turn allow me to not need the bp meds.

Don't be afraid of Metformin -- I was too and was one of the lucky ones with almost zero side effects and all of the good weight loss results.
