i wanted to start the weekly chat and say that May has been a bust wl wise but lifewise its been pretty awesome.

i will come back and do a full post later. guess what ladies summer officially starts in june. are you where you planned to be?

are you happy with yourself and your life in areas other than WL?

i am doing a lot of self reflection and trying to figure out what i want to do with my life...just want some company. lol

i'll elaborate later

05-24-2009, 09:43 PM
May was a bust for me too. Here's to June being AWESOME! ;)

05-24-2009, 10:04 PM
Mid April until now has been a definite bust!!! I'm hoping that June will finally get back on track and the losing can start again. My birthday's coming up mid-June, so the scale going down would be a nice present.

The last few days I've been terrible. I've been outside, being active, but I've been around many many unhealthy foods. I've been eating as little of them as possible, but the weigh in is not going to be good this week. Thankfully its coinciding with TOM (I think) so Hopefully I can lose the water weight along with the extra calories.

On a positive note - I played tennis for 2 hours in the sweltering heat yesterday, so that had to do SOME calorie damage. I also found out that my college offers a part-time MPH program designed for "the working professional." I'm going to do some research and beg my father to help me out with it. Work will reimburse me, but I don't have the money to front right now. I miss school so much, and I'm starting to get worried since I'm the only one at my job without a master's. I have the most experience there, but I don't know how far that's going to take me. Eeek.

How's everyone else's weekend going?

December until May have been a bust! Hopefully now i am eating more it will be a bust through this plateau ;)

05-24-2009, 11:56 PM
I have been bad since friday since I got straight A's and getting into a size 16 at Gap.

Funny how success has sorta triggered a free-for-all for me. I am going to do some reflecting about that.

Tomorrow shouldn't be too bad for me. Going to my Dads around 4:30 and going to have wine and BBQ - but I am not going to allow that to trigger a binge and eating too much throughout the day.

I went food shopping today and got some really nice stuff - even blueberries which are typically really expensive but I love them and I know how healthy they are. I even got some red tea to make into ice tea (which I am doing now) to make sure I get to six months diet coke free next month!!

Tuesday it is back to reality and making some new goals for myself.

Oh - I heard a good quote today in church I wanted to share:

"The life you are seeking is also seeking you"

05-25-2009, 05:21 AM
Morning everyone. Yes it is 4:15 and I am already up for the day. I have a training session at 6am and went to bed so early last night that i just cant sleep anymore

Taylor - i completely agree with success of any kind seems to trigger us all to eat more than usual. Then we just get sad again because all that hard work is trumped by the scale. i am committing the month of june to just keep going and not looking back. Success this month should only bring more success.

Brie - hey girl. missed you. you are done. awesome job. May was great for awhile. then mid-month things went down hill. Its like I forgot for a sec that eating crap actually has consequence no matter how much a pray at night that they wont.

Okay it is a new day, a new week, so i am putting the past behind me and letting it stay there. Only positivity, motivation, and encouragement going forward.

05-25-2009, 10:49 AM
Good morning ladies! Dont know if I will be on much today because well

its my BIRTHDAY:):) So I am hopefully going to be busy and do some shiz!

05-25-2009, 11:03 AM
I love vacations! Waking up at 9:45 am on a Monday could be one of the greatest feelings ever:) I'm looking forward to the day. I'm going to my aunt's house to play in the pool with my little cousins. You'd think a day at the pool would be calm and relaxing...but not with 2 9 month olds and 2 5 year olds. Good times. I'm hoping I'll get plenty of exercise in with them that I only have to do my 30DS today.

BL-Happy Birthday!! I hope it's as beautiful there today as it is here! Have a wonderful day!

Taylor-I'm the same way. I fit into a bathing suit last Friday that I haven't worn in 5 years and I've been celebrating all weekend. Oops. Oh, and I feel as though we should switch states. I hate blueberries and they're all over here (the famous "Blueberry Capital of the World" is just 20 minutes away...haha gotta love new jersey)

Well, I wish you all well. Have a good holiday.

Remember the men and women who faught and are fighting to keep our freedom. Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Birthday BL!!!!!

I've got a whole lotta nothing going on today! :D

05-25-2009, 11:22 AM
Happy Birthday!!:carrot:

I'm sitting here debating if I want to go to the gym or if I just want to lay in bed and do the 30 DS later. Gym closes at 12 today so I have to make up my mind sooooon. Ugh.

05-25-2009, 12:06 PM
I love having three day weekends!!! It would be really nice if every weekend would be a three day weekend ;) I got up somewhat earlier than I was planning this morning, but with different Memorial Day parades going on in my town and the town where my gym is, I knew if I wanted to get to the gym today, I would have to go early.

I was so excited when I got home and weighed in and I finally dropped a pound!!! It's so nice to be out of the 195's! haha

Hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day (or Monday depending on where you live) :)

05-25-2009, 12:26 PM
Hi ladies. Yes, I agree.... Here's to JUNE! :)

05-25-2009, 12:27 PM
:celebrate: HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECKY!!!!! :celebrate:

05-25-2009, 01:51 PM
I've been off the boards for the last week or so. We just found out that my bestfriend's baby brother has a serious cocaine addication. :( My bestfriend and her parents managed to get him into a treatment center down in the States, but the last couple of weeks have been difficult to say the least. I'm just so heartbroken for him and my friend and their poor parents. This is the kid I used to babysit - it's just so unbelievable to me.

Because of this I've been trying but it aint been easy the last little while. I've been making slooooow progress wl wise but hey it's progress right? I'm starting to plan some summer vacations a trip to my friends cabin, bf's family reunion and maybe a trip to san fransico to vist a friend. Over the weekend my bf and I went to the camping store and bought hiking books and a tent. We're going to do some serious backcountry camping this summer. It's been a couple years since I've gone backpacking and I'm supper excited. Totally need to push my butt and the gym a little more. It's not going to be easy to carry a 40lbs backpack while hiking up a mountain for 8 hours - so I gotta get in shape!!!

Happy birthday :bday2: BL!!!!!!

Amyleigh I'm jealous I was up at 5:45 this mornign to go to the gym! No holiday for us today in Canada! Ours was last Monday...

Star 4:12!?! You're crazy girl!

Taylor I'm the same way with success. I feel like it gives me licience to do whatever I want. It's not good. I continually reason, that I've succeded at X so I should be able to treat myself and it just leads to bad bad things, like ghouda cheese and cupcakes.... sigh

05-25-2009, 02:51 PM
Hey girls long time no see LOL.

My wl has been a def bust for awhile now, having friends not so good for wl plan actually. I did not so great Friday and saturday but pretty decent sunday. I have fairly decent today.

Longer post in a bit gotta go to wally world for cookout junk. Ttfn

Home today following the long Memorial Day weekend. It was fun seeing my parents and younger sis, but it was kind of an epic fail regarding my weight loss plan. I am hoping that this week will go better, since I will be at work for one day and then I'm off to my parents' house to go see this awesome live stage/radio show called A Prairie Home Companion. I don't know if any of ya'll listen to it, but I've grown up listening to it, so I'm really psyched to see it live.

Any of you getting crazy weather today? Dad and I drove home in weird weather... one mile it would be sunny, the next pouring with rain, and the next cloudy and humid... it was rather odd. :)

Looking forward to June! It will be a great month! (Hopefully.) ;)

Happy birthday BlCarter!!

05-25-2009, 09:50 PM
i think i put on weight with muscle lately....not getting out of the 190s this month..i put on 3 pounds with eating badly

05-25-2009, 09:54 PM
omg shelly i'm SO jealous!! I grew up on prairie home. I LOVE Guy Noir haha. When I get a job and have money, my first gift to my parents is taking them to see Garrison do the show. Have a blast!!

As for me, I've been HORRIBLE today. I know I posted this morning but what I hoped would turn out to be a good day, was FILLED with junk. For some reason I had no control at my aunt's bbq and was back to my old eating habits (including 3 ribs, 2 wings, 4 brownies, some ice cream and COUNTLESS appetizers) ugh. I'm putting in extra exercise tonight before I do my pm yoga, but I'm already up 4 lbs. gross.

05-25-2009, 11:03 PM
I'm so ticked right now. I went to the gym before work this morning. Being the complete ditz that I am I left my gym clothes in the shower area. I realized at the end of the day and went back to the gym. None of my stuff had been reutrned to the lost and found :(. I'm hoping that they'll still turn up but I'm not particularly hopeful. $200 worth of clothing gone! My favourite lululemon yoga pants, sports bra and running shirt! Hopefully they'll turn up coz I'm to broke to replace them. Sometimes people suck!

05-25-2009, 11:18 PM
I have come to a sad realization, I must walk tomorrow and wednesday if I am even going to attempt to keep off the food I ate today. I hope I start my period soon, this whole waiting around for it BS is killing my way of life. Well time for bed. TTFN yall

05-25-2009, 11:36 PM
It seems like the last two months have been a write-off. I keep losing the same 5 lbs over and over again. I had finally gained some ground and then it was my birthday on Sunday so we tore it up LOL

Iconised Ghost
05-25-2009, 11:41 PM
Shantroy- thats so sad :( I'd hate it if that happened. Maybe it will turn up soon, someone might have seen it and just not realised it wasnt theirs or something. It sounds like at least you didnt leave your shoes in there :(

Bee- you can do it! Try not to think about your period, it'll come faster that way ;)

As for me, im trucking on. Im pretty scared that the loss i saw last week is a fluke :(

05-25-2009, 11:58 PM
Ghost, I didn't leave my shoes there thank god! Just my clothes. Apparently people like my sweaty workout gear. Last year my car was broken into an among other things the got my sports bra and yoga pants. But left my shoes behind. I guess my stinky clothes are theif magnets!

Iconised Ghost
05-26-2009, 12:03 AM
O_O thats really odd...you would think that was a deterant rather than a magnet! Maybe they think that you might have your purse in the bag or something?? Otherwise thats just downright strange

05-26-2009, 12:13 AM
When my car was broken into my clothes were just laying on the back seat. They had to reach through the front passenger window into the back seat behind the driver seat and grab my pants and bra from there. They jus really wanted my used work out gear! But they did leave my shoes in the back seat... This time my clothes were hanging on a hook in one of the shower stalls. I'm hoping that one of the cleaning ladies has them, but didn't get around to putting them into the lost & found. Got my fingers crossed.

Iconised Ghost
05-26-2009, 12:18 AM
Its always possible, i have my fingers crossed for you too

05-26-2009, 01:32 AM
Hello! I thought I'd introduce myself since I've recently wandered to the 20s forums. I'm a working college student who's been trying to find the time and motivation to exercise more. I'm getting better with the eating healthy part, but still have a long ways to go.

05-26-2009, 01:44 AM
hi talina! welcome!

05-26-2009, 07:25 AM
Shantroy - I'm sorry about your clothes!!! That stinks that someone might have taken them. But knowing how expensive Lululemon is, it doesn't surprise me either. Hopefully they turn up today!

my cat got bitten by a dog :( just got home from the emergency vets, looks like shes going to be ok, but i feel so sorry for her. Shes really been through the wars lately poor baby. Cant even cuddle her because shes tender and scared someone's going to put her in a cat cage and whisk her off to the vet :(

05-26-2009, 09:13 AM
IG -- Awwwwwww poor kitty! She has been through a lot this month with the vet. Maybe you could cut some raw steak or mix up a can of tuna with a raw egg for her and give her a treat some night when she feels better?

Shan -- ...That is odd. I would be checking ebay for those perverted used womens workout gear (unwashed!!!) auctions. :p I kid, I kid... I think. Yikes!

Talina -- Hi hunny! Welcome to the 20-somethings! :D

Leigh -- Blah, I hate those five pounds! I've been gaining and losing them too. Except i've been doing it since December.

Bee -- Why do you have to wait around? Better pee on one of those advanced technology sticks to make sure. :p

Brie -- HI BOO!!!!! I hope you're feeling better and everything is going well. Congrats on graduating, I knew you could do it! LoL.

As for me, i'm excited because my BFF is getting home from Iraq soon and I AM SO EXCITED! :carrot:
In stupid news, though, I am still waiting on the VA to get back with me about my claim. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SINCE I FILED. WtF!? Also met a smoking hot guy this weekend at the river, but he's from Puerto Rico and his English is crap. I can't understand a darn thing he's saying, but that is probably why I like him because he knows this, so he's quiet.

05-26-2009, 09:18 AM
NishKitten - We are in the exact same boat, gaining and losing those same 5 pounds since DECEMBER. I have had enough! p.s. YAY for hot puerto rican dudes.

05-26-2009, 09:27 AM
Luvja -- Haha! Okay, OUR mini-goal is to lose those 5 lbs and keep them off this month. Deal? And yanno... i've always thought latino men were exceptionally hot but (and this is Puerto Rican men in particular) I was always a little questionable about the full-body shaving and eyebrow plucking. It's actually quite attractive, I decided. :D

05-26-2009, 09:36 AM
lol yeah she has been through a lot lately. Shes asleep next to the hallway door now, so im going to have to move her to her bed so no one trips over her in the morning :( and so she stays toasty :D I have a pouch of chicken gravy food stuff that i got free with her biscuits, so i might let her try that tomorrow. She really likes milk, but apparently cats become more lactose intolerant as they get older so its prob not such a great treat for her right now >.<

Luvja and nish- i am exactly the same since december with those 5 pounds!! What are your plans of action?

05-26-2009, 10:04 AM
YES! That can be all 3 of our goals, lose this stupid 5 lbs for the month of June! Minimum! See, I live in Canada, hispanic people don't come here. Honestly, I think I've met ONE hispanic person here my entire life. However, When I go shopping in Buffalo, New York, I see a TON of sexy hispanic men

05-26-2009, 10:11 AM
Ugh.... Who gets sick in the summer? Well of course, I DO! My throat is SO SORE. Shoot me!

05-26-2009, 11:18 AM
Who steals work out clothes? After I work out *I* don't even want to touch them, and its my sweat. People are odd.

Nish - it is quite attractive - they just tend to be high maintenance. Same with Italian guys. They're nice to look at though.

Icon - Aw the poor thing! I hope she feels better soon.

Welcome Talina! I like your avatar :)

Brie - congrats on your graduation!

The weekend was okay until last night, although I ate like crap and yay my WI is today so I'll find out exactly how terrible I was. I'm kind of po'ed at all of my friends right now. I decided I want to go back to school in the fall for a part-time masters. My alma mater has a program where I wouldn't have to take the GRE's, I either have to have a BS in a health science (which I think I do...) or have 3 years work experience (which I have). So my friends last night preceded to tell me I'm copping out by not taking the GREs and going to a "better" school (ie Hopkins for 750 a friggin credit). I'm a firm believer that its not where you go to school but what you put into your education. Apparently everyone else cares that their families are impressed by them going to Hopkins. I don't really care what my family thinks - I want a friggin master's degree. Anyway, I'm just ticked - I'm so supportive of everyone else in their endeavors, and people just tend to give me crap. Would having a degree from Hopkins be nice? Sure...would being 60 grand in debt be terrible at the end of this? YES. Ugh. Thank god its watermelon season. c cup = 1 point.

05-26-2009, 11:44 AM
Nish: One must have sex to be preggo, I therefore could not be pregnant unless I am the virgin mary. I have been under a huge amount of stress at work, and thats probably delaying it. I am only a week late right now and taking everything into consideration I am good. I feel like I could start at anytime though, cue the PMS. LOL

05-26-2009, 12:07 PM
Pictures of my first crop of strawberries and they are monsters! These were only the ripe ones, and it's about two pounds worth. There is probably another three pounds of strawberries on the other plants that will be ripening over the next two weeks. Just to put the size into perspective, the cutting board is 15"x15", the blade of the knife is 5", and the top 1/2 inch of the berries has been lopped off.

These are Sequoia and Sweet Charlie (the smaller, darker ones). I'm growing them on my deck in a 4 foot stackable planter tower. :D

I am not looking forward to seeing J.J. (the dietitian) this afternoon, but I will give you a complete rundown on how I plan to lose these 5lbs, plus some extra in the coming months once he hooks me up.

Stella -- I have PTSD from Italy. I was stationed for 3 months in Germany on a casualty escort assignment back when I was a young PFC. Went trekking around the nearby Euro countries with friends on leave and found out that men in that country have a serious *thing* for black and afro-mixed women. I vividly remember sprinting past the Trevi with this -->:fr: expression on my face as I was getting run down by wild beasts in the streets of Rome.

Bee -- LOL! Had to make sure. You know, stress always makes my TOM heavier and more painful, it never stops it. I wish it would sometime!

05-26-2009, 12:08 PM
Brie - May is a super bust for me, I'm starting fat smash June 1st...

Stella - nice work on tennis, I stick to Wii tennis. :D A masters is a masters I agree, of course it looks great coming from some awesome school, but with you already having experience, your masters will only be an extra to those looking to hire you, that's terrible anyone would give you crap about that at all. I mean Caaaaamon! thank goodness for 3FC!

Taylor - yum blueberries! i love them too, and they are ridiculously expensive, but so good for ya! Love the quote from church, its great! I think success gets in the way of our food choices too, I'm just going to start rewarding myself with something other than food!

Starmac - new day new week, CHECK! love it

BL - :happybirthday: hope you had fun! What did you do?

amyleigh - Oh sleeping in is Fabulous!! How was your pool day? I played in the pool all day, it was fantastic! BBQs are tough, specially because everyone has to bring cake and deserts! I'm going to have to make a cook yourself thin cake from now on or something, that way everyone gets the benefits and doesn't even know it! :D

chele - i love 3 day weekends too, just what i needed. I decided on friday that my new years resolution next year is going to be to turn every 3 day weekend into a 4 or 5 day weekend, I've been at the same company for 8 years, I should have no problem getting enough vacation for that! Woowho, you dropped the one pound! I can't wait to start going down again, i'm back to focus focus focus!

shan - that sucks, cocaine addictions are terrible! I had a battle with that, and I'm so glad i got myself out of that before it needed help, that stuff is no good! I hope he gets through this, it will be a tough road. Your summer sounds fantastic though, I love love love camping and hiking, its so nice to get away from society and city life! OMG someone really took your clothes, that is just not right! Hope you get them back!

bee - i can relate to the bust for a while, i feel like this whole month has just been junk and i was gung ho at the beginning..wah! I have to lose 10 lbs this month now, which is unrealistic! :( I hate TOM too, i should be starting any day now, and i am refusing to give in to it's cravings, my body will just have to deal with it!

shelly - how did your show go, or is it today? I've never heard of it, but that's awesome you get to see something like that, is this your first time, or have you seen before too? That is totally weird weather, but thats how AZ is when it rains, it will rain for 2 seconds, then suddenly its dry. It was rainy thur-sat, totally weird considering we barely get any rain.

lissa - i had problems with losing in my frirst month or so of weight lifting because i was gaining muscle, i think thats playing into this months loss too, i really don't eat bad, unless its saturday :(

leighish - :happybirthday: to you too!

icon - don't scare your wl off! its no fluke you keep trucking and it will go even more down! :D OMG how is your cat? That's so sad

Talina - hi there! Good luck getting exercise in, its tough at first, but once you make it part of your daily/weekly routine it will no longer be a chore, I go up and down with it, but i just remind myself i'll be here for the rest of my life, a day off isn't so bad, multiple days off you'll pay for, and a month off, good luck getting back! Its tough, but you can do it!

Nish - Yay BFF comes back! That should be fun! Nice work meeting the hot guy, he sounds like your type though, i mean he can't even talk to you, sweet! haha What the **** is going on with your file?

Well ladies I have pretty much taken the last 3 weeks off, and I don't really care. With both of us being sick, our stupid injuries and being out of town I just knew it was going to be a bad month! But as Starmac said, the past is the past, and I'm doing this in the present! THis weekend was so fun! Did boot camp on saturday, then went to the co-op where I got an 8lb box of these crazy looking yellow mangoes for $5.50!!!! That's friggin cheap, I'm so stoked about this co-op. Then I went home and waited for the BF and roommate to get home from golfing so we could do some yard work on the front of the house...really just cut the trees back, we have maybe 3x3 front yard, its sad! THEN we put up a Mister on the back patio, because it's getting out of control the 1st 3 days of last week were atleast 107, and at time 110 degrees! I love az, but when the summer hits, it freakin hits! So Sunday was pool party at muh dads for my neice who has completed 8th grade and will now be going to the high school i graduate from! haha, i love that lil girl! So yesterday we were supposed to meet some neighbors at the community pool, and they never showed up, but i'm sure it was because it appeared to be family day at the pool, but we didn't let that scare us, we played frisbee in the pool with a pitcher of home made sangria with no added sugar, and man i was TOSSED! hahaha, I'm pretty sure i was in bed by 5:30, whoopsy, but it was good considering I had to go back to work today! We're taking Thursday off this week, as we're supposed to hear from the az cardinals to purchase our season tickets, and we only get 15 min. then my sister and her kids are coming in from Colorado for my dads surprise 30th on saturday, she comes in thursday and we're taking a family pic. so we can get it printed and framed for muh dad. YAY, I love starting my week on a tuesday! i have no idea why, but it makes for a good week. summer school starts next monday :( haha! Hope you all have a good week and day!

05-26-2009, 12:14 PM
Is it not working? I can see it. :(

05-26-2009, 12:46 PM
i will be in miami this time thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

omg! i cant wait! and i decided that no i am not where i wanted to be weight wise but i am going to have a great damn time no matter what! when i get back it will be bootcamp time!

so moving into my moms house is a reason to drink constantly i literally have no where to put my stuff and my mom needs niecey nash and the crew to come clean this crap up!!! i understand the things she has been going through just didnt know it was this bad. when i get back from miami i told her she better have a dumpster in the driveway and i am going all flylady.net on this clutter! i cant live like this i want to move out but i am poor!

dansin - i can start fatsmash over with you on the 2nd when i wake up from my miami hangover :) lets be FS buddies!

nisha - those look good i need u to figure out a way to send me some they made me hungry. all the ones in the grocery store look like they are dying! sooo yeah i am back but that boy wasnt the reason for my hiatus. he just put it in to play. i realized i was focusing on everything except school too much so i took a break from everything and managed to graduate. i was pulling crazy all nighters but it was cool and i only cared about me so it was what i needed.
anyway there is no peen in kc so i got laid as many times as possible before i left stl but its not seeming to stick i need more! lol guess i have to go out and try to find some that wont try to marry me or have too many baby mamas cause i want to be single for a while.
what claim is va being slow with?

icon - poor kitty. my doggy has been really ill and pukey and he is kind of crazy about ppl touching him right now. hopefully they will get better fast. i think its harder on us than it is on the pets though lol

05-26-2009, 01:02 PM
:carrot:I got my clothes back!!!!:carrot: I went to the gym this morning before work. When I got back to the locker room I saw one of the cleaning ladies and I asked her about them. She had placed all my clothes in a bag and hidden them udder one of the sinks in shower area. She called me a silly girl (which I guess I am!) and gave me the bad. So WOOO HOOO! There are no stinky sweating clothing theives at the gym!

Chele I love lulu lemon, but every peice of clothing I have from there save for one bra was a gift or a handme down from my mom. I only bought hte bra coz it was 60% off. I love their stuff, but man it's expensive. I'm just glad that I got it all back.

Ghost I hope your cat feels better soon.

luvja I was sick last week, sore throat and all stuffy. Thankfully it only lasted a couple of days. Feel better soon!

Stella I'm the same way with gym clothes and these ones were super yucky. I haven't done laundry in a while and really pushed myself at the gym yesterday so these were a little ..... ripe shall we say. Into the wash they go tonight!

Nish Holly crap thats alot of strawberries! They look super yummy. Strawberries are my fav.....

DanSin I'm glad that he went and went somewhat willingly. It's not going to be an easy road at all, but his family is awesome and will support him 250%. He's down in the states and we're up in canada up his parents and my friend have been flying down every weekend to see him and take part in family counsiling. He's a good kid, but been through a lot. The day he got his drives licience a few years ago, some idiot ran a stop sign and lost control of his car. My bf's bro T-boned him and killed both the driver and the baby in the back seat. Not bro's fault at all; he had the right of way and we're pretty sure the other driver was drunk. But I know he feels guilty over the whole thing. It sounds like not long after the accident the drug use started. Either way I hope that things work out for him. I'm glad you battled it and won; it sounds like you're doing pretty well. Thanks for the kind words!

Shantroy-Congrats on the clothes!! So glad you got them back!

Icon-Poor kitty!! I’m sure she’ll be ok in time. Just keep loving her and she’ll get back to normal soon

Nish-Sounds like an excellent reason to learn Spanish…or at least some key phrases like “Let’s go to dinner,” “Pick me up at 8” and “Let’s make out” haha

Luvya- You’re not alone. I’m sick too…of course mine is allergies. My problem is living in the woods and having an allergy to pollen . Take some Nyquil tonight so you can at least get a good night’s sleep!

Stella- Screw Hopkins. Sorry, I’m a Loyola girl myself so I’m not a fan of Hopkins. Haha. Anyway, being a graduate of Loyola and being 120,000 in debt, I can totally say, go to the cheap school.

Dan- the cook yourself thin cake is an EXCELLENT idea, I’m so stealing that. I feel you on the heat front though. I may live in Jersey but my bros are in Phoenix and I refuse to visit them unless it’s early spring or winter.

bjeweled- you go work it in miami for all of us that can't! have a blast!!

As for me, well I had an interview today at a local High School. It was my second interview with them and I think it went well until the last question when I told them that I think every student has the right to fail. I explained it by saying that as a teacher it is my job to do what I can to help them succeed, but if they refuse to learn, they need to face the consequences of their actions even if that means failing. They all sort of froze for like a solid 45 seconds….awwwwkkkwaaard. But as I was leaving they all told me I did a really good job. I’ll hear from them in about two weeks. Oh well. K, it’s 30DS time. Ciao chicas!

Stella- Screw Hopkins. Sorry, I’m a Loyola girl myself so I’m not a fan of Hopkins. Haha. Anyway, being a graduate of Loyola and being 120,000 in debt, I can totally say, go to the cheap school.

We were college neighbors and home state neighbors (north jersey here)! I went to Towson for undergrad. Yeah, Hopkins is a good school and all, but I am a firm believer that its not the school you go to, its the effort you put into it. Towson gave me a great undergrad education and that education got me a really good job - who's to say their graduate program won't do the same. I just hate the school snobs.

I just printed out my application and all the materials I need - I'm going to set up an appointment to talk to the project director, talk to my dad, and hopefully I'm good to go. I just have a really good feeling about this...

05-26-2009, 03:30 PM
Nish - Oh no i can see your pic, i was talking about the VA claim too whoopsy, we kinda posted at the same time.

Brie - sweet, I'll be your FS buddy for sure! You'll be detoxing from Miami and I'll be detoxing to go to Clearwater! hahaha, I saw you post there, I wondered if you were still doing it! I'm very interested to see how this plays out after two weekends of parties and two weekends of parties during it, I have to do for me though, just like you! Good job taking a break, it's so nice to have Brie back!

Shan - thank goodness you got your clothes back, that would have been totally weird! I can totally relate to bad experience being the force behind an addiction...the good part is he has good support system even with you guys living across boarders! I'm glad he's getting help, and semi-willingly is really the only way or willingly! It's been YEARS for me, so I just look at it as a been there done that thing, i'm actually kind of glad I experienced it so I can tell my kids how MESSEd up it is, that is when I have them.

amy - haha, most people stay away from Phoenix May - Nov, I think our summer lasted into December last year too! haha, I'm going to love our community pool and misters this summer though! Yay for the second interview, I hope that didn't screw you up, that's good logic anyway, kids need to learn consequences to their actions, and HS is a good place for them to learn as well.

Stella - I have good thoughts too, I hope your dad can help you out until work pays ya back, that will be so awesome!

05-26-2009, 05:47 PM
Stella - it's definitely what you put into a master's program rather than what name is on your degree that counts. I got my Master's at the same college that I got my undergrad from and some people didn't like that either. They thought I was taking an easy way out.....staying with something familiar. But, my little Catholic college that no one's ever heard of had exactly the program I was looking for (Learning Disabilities) and it was one of the best decisions I ever made!

Shantroy - I am SOOOO glad that you got your clothes back. What a relief!!! Lululemon is wicked expensive, but I love it!!! I only have one hoodie from there....it was a reward. Basically I said that I would buy one when I could finally fit into one because I always wanted one but they didn't fit. I love it and want more ;)

Bjeweled - Have a ton of fun in Miami!!!!

Hey guys!!!

Dansin- The show is actually on May 30th, but I am driving 300 miles to go see the show (and my parents). Not to mention I am going to tour the college I am going to next year.

Nish- Those strawberries look delish! Makes me want to go and eat some myself. :)

Icon- Sorry about your kitty! Sounds like she's been through it these past few weeks, I hope for better luck for her henceforth!

Stella- I totally agree with you on your educational pursuits. I think having any kind of degree will help you to further yourself, regardless of where your degree is from.

Me- I had a good day today, walked a total of 16 blocks today going back and forth to the restaurant I went to with my co-workers. It was sooo good, but I managed to restrain myself and eat only one plate. (It was a buffet.) Not to mention that I loved the walk; I love walking along downtown streets. Now that my work for the week is over, I have only one more grant writing class and I will be home free! :)
A little bit of a frustrating thing though... I have been looking into whether or not they have processed my application at the university I am going to this fall. Apparently, not only have they not processed it, they have no record of it at all. This is pretty sucky too because I am going there on Friday and I would like to have a good idea of how to proceed from here. *sulks* I guess that's universities for you.

Looking forward to further chat, I guess I will talk to you guys from St Louis next!

05-26-2009, 07:43 PM
Brie - I'm totally jealous. Miami! Have FUN! (Obviously you will)

Nish - Those strawberries look YUMMY.

shantroy - Thanks. And that really really sucks about your stolen clothes. I hope they return them. K A R M A.

amyleigh - Allergies are no fun eh :(

shelly - 16 blocks! :yikes: You rock.

HELLO to everyone else :D

I was planning on walking tonight, with my buddy. But apparently Mother Nature wants me to be fat forever. Darn rain. So instead we are going grocery shopping  It's suppose to rain for the rest of the week here. Grrrrrrr. Ah well, I'll make sure I eat proper. And I really need a vacation. I don't see one AT ALL in my near future  Boo!

05-26-2009, 07:55 PM
Hey my Lovely Losers!

How is it going? Things are okay here. Going on a field trip tomorrow to a state park. Hiking all day! Still trying to decide what to charge for babysitting.... but that's a separate post!

Brie- HA! I seriously lol'd about you getting a bunch of peen before moving home! Oh girl. Between you and Nish, the boys better realize that they are not safe! :)

Good luck to all and happy pound dropping!

luvja and nish- i heard italian guys are yummy, but hard work, that they tens to expect their girlfriends to do everything for them like their mothers do? Dunno how true that is but it puts me off

Stella- thanks :) Good luck at the weigh in, it might not be as bad as you think. Remember some of it will probably be water weight! Stick to your guns with your uni choice, your friends arent the ones who have to pay for it in the end

Nish- omg strawberries! I am so jealous. Its now headed for winter here and i miss summer fruit like crazy. Strawberries are one of the few ill eat. Good luck with the dietition, remember they are only there to give you advice, if you dont like it you dont have to take it ;) Of course, they prob know a lot about nutrition, but they might not know that much about you

DanSinDeva- i'll try not to :D Gotta get to the gym today. Gotta gotta gotta. My cat is looking better, she was rolling on my bed and purring and meowing nicely, she wants to go out (but shes got to stay in for a few days) and shes been washing her fur around the wound so its looking good. Good luck with summer school, know that i am jealous of you for the fact it is summer school and i am here freezing my butt off writing my thesis :D

Bjeweled- thats awful about your dog :( Esp when you want to comfort them and you cant because they're sore or just not feeling up to it. It is probably so much worse for us lol.

shantroy- w00t! :carrot: yay for cleaners! Even ones who lecture you lol

amyleigh- giving her lots of kisses :D good luck with the highschool, at least you were honest. Its probably something theyve all thought at some point lol

Miss shelly- yeah i feel so bad for my cat. Shes been sick, emergency vets twice in a month, 2 courses of antibiotics, one normal vet check up...poor thing! Apparently she has white coat hyper-temperature, where some cats have a temperature because they get nervous going to the vets  her temp was around 40! Poor baby. So now i have to get a thermometer and check it at home otherwise everytime she goes to the vets shes going to get antibiotics for a temperature! Nice work with the walking. Yup thats pretty typical of universities. The beaurocracy sucks. Once you're in you're sweet though so dont give up on them :D

Here is a little inspiration for your day!

05-26-2009, 08:46 PM
welcome talina!

Shantroy- I haven't heard of lululemon's stolen from the locker room since high school! Haha. As much as I LOVE the stuff, eww someone else's still sweaty clothes? no thank you! I love the fact that they have an outlet store, sales everyday :D

luvja- boo sore throat! Hope you feel better soon. gah almost everytime i can go grocery shopping it's pouring rain, nothing like walking home and washing your groceries at the same time!

stellarosa- haha, you're so right! In my experience italian guys are SO high maintenance. Go ahead and do your masters anywhere you want to, it IS about what you put into it, and what you get out of it, not what school name is on the degree.

nish- are the strawberries sweet? they look white inside :O

DanSin- sounds like you had a crazy fun week, mm sangria.

Icon- when you mentioned checking your cat's temperature for some reason the picture in my head was you feeling it's forehead with the back of your palm. :D that wouldn't work would it? lol

Heather- that's a great quote, gonna save it!

As for me, I did day 2 level two of the 30DS today!! I think I was delirious from exertion but it seemed easier than the first time. lol. I can almost see my abs. I'm still blogging all my food, it's actually kind of fun! I just like seeing all the pretty pictures of good eats lol.

05-26-2009, 09:03 PM
aneleh, where is this lululemon outlet store you speak of!?! There certainly isn't one in Calgary!

Iconised Ghost
05-26-2009, 09:17 PM
aneleh- nope, its gotta be the thermometer up the butt im afraid  her ears felt pretty warm though but im not sure thats a fail safe way to check cats temperatures:dizzy:

05-26-2009, 09:42 PM
Hello again ladies :)

Yeah - I did a lot of research on the program today, and its pretty much exactly what I want. I'm going to call daddy tomorrow and talk about it then try to set up an appt with the director. Everyone else can kiss my butt, I'm the one who's going to be studying, while they sit at home and whine that they can't get into school.

The WI wasn't bad - I was down 0.4 (at least its not up) and I had heavy jewelery on...

Italian guys ARE high maintenance. The want a combination mother/girlfriend. My mom always said DON'T MARRY AN ITALIAN - even though she did.

I hope you all had a wonderful day - I'm going to pack my lunch for tomorrow and turn in early - gotta wake up to work out tomorrow :)

05-26-2009, 09:58 PM
shan- there's one in Vancouver, very hidden away! I don't know about Calgary though.

05-26-2009, 11:52 PM
Thanks for the warm welcome!

Icon, I'm glad your cat is feeling better.

Stella, Way to go staying true to what you want. I highly agree that a big name school doesn't always mean you're getting any better of an education.

Nish, Now I'm really wanting some strawberries!

Next week I move close to school again. An hour commute really sucks. This means I'll be near the campus gym to get some more use out of it. I'm taking advantage of the empty kitchen to only stock it with healthy foods for myself. I've already warned the roommates.

05-27-2009, 09:05 AM
Aneleh -- Yep! Different strawberries. Down here in the Southern U.S. (most of the nations strawberries are produced on the southeast coast, where I happen to live) our strawberries are still white on the inside, even when they're ripe because they need humidity and heat to sweeten sufficiently. You only wait until the outside is mostly red to be courteous mostly. You could pick a white strawberry out here and it would still be sweet provided it was hot enough the last week. Strawberries essentially start to melt once you pick them, so they can only be shipped from close by. The ones you guys get up there are grown later in the season, ripen only once rather than the three-crops-a-year strawberries we have down here in the hot@ss South, and a more cold-hardy breed so the membrane is thicker. Those do have to turn red, or they're really sour. :)

I will be back for more soon in a couple of hours, I have to take my car to get serviced and the Merc dealership is like an hour away. :(

05-27-2009, 09:42 AM
Heeeeeeeeeeeeey sexy ladies!!!

I know I've been MIA for a minute. Pretty busy with work and then I've been out of town. Hope everything's god with you all. I ate horribly over the weekend, but I'm back on track. The food was good, but I feel gross inside. I've been thinking of doing all veggies/seafood this week. I actually need to get up and head t the store. I'm still off work today and I have an interview at 2 (1st hour phone, 2nd hour a written question I have to email in), so wish me luck and pray if you're a praying person. :)

I won't do a lot of personals since I'm so behind, but I hpe all of you are having a great on plan week!

Talina: :welcome2:

Stella: I have an MPH and I'm currently in a fellowship! I of course think an MPH is the best degree ever, but feel free to PM me if you wanna chat about it.

Nish: If you put one mre smokin hot picture of yourself on here I swear I will join the group of women wh0 hate you for being so damn hot. But the hate will come from a happy place :p

Ghost: thermometer up the butt... poor cat. hope he feels better.

Taylor. Yep. Back on track. I think we're pretty much the same size. I'm 5'5" too and wear a Gap 16. We've gotta do this! :)

Heather: Hey! :D

05-27-2009, 11:03 AM
Heather: I needed that quote today. Patience is a virtue I have yet mastered. I printing that as we speak and its and going in my cube. Hooray for cube farms! LOL

Hi - Yes. I found the track this morning under my breakfast of healthy whole grain waffles, an apple and a workout with my trainer.

*pats the "track"*

05-27-2009, 11:23 AM
Heya - I accidently posted this in the wrong thread earlier but I wanted to introduce myself as well. I recently lost my job but i'm not too bothered (though I probably should be) because now I have taken it upon myself to get some proper exercise in the day, prepare good healthy meals and watch my calorie intake and get the house in order because it is a complete mess. I absolutely hate having a 9 - 5 office job because I'm just sat all day in front of a computer and I never eat very well either. Then when I get home I'm too tired to do much - tired from doing nothing but sitting all day! - and as a result the house is a complete tip! So I'm taking this opportunity to get my house and my own body sorted out! (I am looking for jobs as well but it definitely doesn't hurt having some time off).

It's great actually because my fiance works as a postie in the mornings and I've been going to work with him the last few days and that's really great exercise and it gets me out of the house and into the fresh air. Plus more time with him

So yeah, that's my story, lol

05-27-2009, 11:26 AM
Good morning!

Thanks to everyone for the comforting thoughts about the interview. I really appreciate it!

So last night I had a bit of a scare. I got on the scale and I was 6.5 lbs heavier than last week. I know I was 4 up from the weekend but another 2.5 in a day?? That hasn't happened since I was about 200. Somehow when I got on this morning (which I know wasn't the best of ideas but I was curious) I was down 3.5 lbs. Weird. I think it's because I missed my workouts yesterday because my stupid teacher kept us late in class and I didn't get in till almost 10, which means dinner was about 4 hours later than normal.

Anyway. I'm EXHAUSTED today and I have no clue why. I'm going to ignore it and jump into 30DS anyway because this is the longest I've gone exercising almost daily and I don't wanna screw it up (sad, it's only been about 9 days, haha).

Stella-Congrats on making the decision! I totally think it's the right one. Don't listen to what your friends are saying. Towson is actually a really good school, people around there just don't see it...kinda like how people in jersey look down on Rutgers and TCNJ when Rugters is actually an amazing school. Go figure.

Shelly-Go you! I don't think I've EVER had just one plate at a buffet...and the walk to go with it. Well done, I'm impressed :)

Luvya-I feel you with the rain. What I do when I get rained in is one of the walking videos. Exercise TV on demand has them...and I think there might be a few free ones on the website too. I don't feel as good as getting outside, but it's still good.

Taylor- get back on track as soon as possible..the longer you wait the harder it'll be: words of advice from my favorite professor "procrastination is like masturbation, in the end you're only screwing yourself" :joker:

Beaka: Good luck on the interview! I'll be prayin' for ya!

*please ignore all of the terrible spelling and grammar errors. as an english teacher i should know better, but the exhaustion has taken over my brain

05-27-2009, 11:39 AM
Ok now my cookie fruit snack binge is OVER!! lol time to get back on track after the last 2 days off. But I was good and even ate super healthy for my birthday:-P

Sounds like everyone didn't do so well for May so lets make June the month to get er done!

05-27-2009, 11:54 AM
I agree with Becky! LETS DO THIS!! :high:

05-27-2009, 12:23 PM
Yay us! Back on track! :grouphug:

So... just got back from the farmers market and grocery store. Lots of veggies, seafood, and 2 whole wheat veggie pizzas. I WILL stay on track.

05-27-2009, 12:31 PM
Don't talk about cookies!!!!

I'm having a weird day where I want to eat EVERYTHING. I'm being really good and avoiding temptation. I haven't had any unplanned foods yet, just my oatmeal and watermelon and I am counting down until lunch. But shhh. Don't mention cookies...

Thanks all for your support :) Towson IS a good school - I think you're right, Amy, its the same way we look at Rutgers, which is also an awesome school. If I lived at home I'd be doing that... but alas.

I <3 you all and I shall be back for personals later - got to jump into some report writing/form reviewing. Yay.

Stay strong! (and someone keep me away from the cookies)

05-27-2009, 01:17 PM
Good afternoon ladies :)

I'm off to a good start today, after I ate oreo ice cream last night I felt like poop. So I just used my elliptical machine FINALLY after like a good 6 months of not touching it. I lasted about 25 minutes.... Phheww! That thing kicks your butt. I'm going to try to use it 3-4 days a week, as well as walking outdoors. I'm ready to get below 260, I've been trapped in the 260's since January. Yikes..... I'm going to make Friday's my official weigh in day. Starting this Friday... It's been a long time since I've moved my ticker and it's about darn time I do. Friday I will see where I am at...I'm nervous!

Hope everyone has a great day :)

05-27-2009, 02:54 PM
Welp - I sort of failed - I went into the kitchen to get my lunch, and vending machine man was restocking and had an extra bag of crunchy, chocolate chip cookies and was like "hey, you want this?" Uh, yeah....yeah I did. I figure if the vending machine man was going to give me free cookies, it was meant to be. The good thing is, my lunch was low in points so they fit into my day :)

05-27-2009, 03:00 PM
omg i'm in pain today i busted my butt at the gym my whole upper body is screaming and i have almost not urge to eat the cookies i baked last night

05-27-2009, 03:02 PM
sooo i must be crazy!

i cant wait for my vacation to start tomorrow but at the same time i am super excited about getting back home next week and starting june POP! ive been thinking about it like crazy for the last couple of days! i'm just as excited about that as i am about going to MIAMI!

05-27-2009, 04:24 PM
Bad news: My baby needs a combo of maintenance, updates, repairs, and fluid flushes to the tune of $1800. I don't mind it because she's 10 years old, 136,000 miles and has never so much as had a check engine warning and I drive *hard*. I get an oil change once every 3 months and she carries on like the day I bought her, so I figure this is kind of like a spa vacation for a coupe. LoL. It is made even more okay by the fact that they gave me a fully loaded 2010 GLK 4MATIC to cruise around in until the work is done. :D

Mercedes is the sh*t, I would never own another car if they were trying to give it to me free. Their customer service can't be beat.

Brie -- You are crazy!:p You wanna borrow a Brazilian micro-bikini for Miami? I have an extra one and they won't arrest you for walking around in coochie floss down there.

Lissa -- If you're that sore, I would take an hour or so today to stretch out really good and then take a hot bath in epsom salts tonight. That way you'll be good to go tomorrow. :)

Stella -- hehehe! I think those cookies were meant to be today, and how fortunate that they fit in your calories!

Luvja -- LOL!!! It always cracks me up how home gym equipment becomes $700 clothes hangers. I have my blackberry alarm set to go off when I need to get my butt on mine.

Beaka -- HEY HONEY PIE!!!!!! LoL. That pic is so ridiculous. The friend that snapped it told me I need to be one of those models that takes photographs for adult escort ads. And you had better stay on track! Keep your shenanigans to a minimum. :p

Amy -- Have a break. LoL. My mom teaches and tomorrow is her kids last day. I've helped her grade essays and papers before, and I honestly don't know how you guys manage doing it for so long without taking a flask of whiskey to class or something.

Talina -- You could even get your own mini-fridge for your room. I can't stand having roommates because my stuff always ends up eaten.

Beauty -- Welcome to the 20's chat!

Hi girls!!! My goodness, I am absolutely FREEZING!!! It's cold and rainy and just plain yucky here. Considering last week was over 90 degrees, this 50 degree weather is no fun!

My TOM is starting today, lucky me....and my back is hurting me a bit. I think I twinged it sleeping or something. If I turn a bit or something, I get a twinge. It just randomly hurts. And then I needed to run some errands since TOM started and there were no pads in the house anywhere, so I skipped out on the gym today. I still rode my stationary bike for 30 minutes while watching an episode of The Hills. I am exhausted and hungry and cold and am so looking forward to bedtime! haha

Hope everyone's having a good Wednesday!

...musta dropped this when I ribs on saturday.....

05-27-2009, 05:47 PM
Wow Nish I can't believe I've never heard that about the strawberries before! Yea, the one's that grow here are kinda meh, some are good, but not all of them. Then we get california strawberries in the spring and they are white inside and HUGE and pretty bland. Suprisingly my favorite strawberries are the ones I had in Finland, sooo sweet. And the little wild ones are awesome too, I have some liquor made of that haha..

Ugh I was staarving as soon as I got home, didn't pack enough lunch again. I had a 'smoothie' with milk, berries and spinach. I never knew it would come to the point where I'm drinking 2 cups of spinach for an afternoon snack. When did that happen??

05-27-2009, 05:48 PM
Nish - That is EXACTLY what my elliptical has been for the last 6 months, a CLOTHES HANGER. Lmao. True story.

can i come crying i am hurting...my period arrived today too so i'm up this week.oh well
off to be as immobile as possible

Stella: Yes, those cookies were meant for you :)

Luvja: So you know we'll expect you to have knocked all of that dust off the machine by tomorrow. Glad you're back on track.

Brie: You are crazy... and we still love you. We'll miss you!

Nish: Now that you mention it... it does look a little back page of the magazine. :o And as for my shenanigans, I refuse to keep them to a minimum. Shenanigans and tomfoolery are my FAV activities. :p

Just worked out with the trainer... I think I did the first day of this seafood week wrong. I was about to DIE and couldn't do my 3rd set of the circuit. But I did go do all my cardio. Maybe not enough protein. :?: And my trainer actually let me stop, so I must have really been looking crazy... or maybe it's the after effects of the holiday weekend. :dizzy: I dunno. Weight loss confuses me. I was hungry when I got back and ate half a cantelope.

Greetings from St Louis!

Just arrived in the suburbs of St Louis today to wet weather and thunder. We had a good drive up though, it only started raining after we got close to our destination and it really hasn't let up since. Bummer.

Thanks for the congrats all! I am really going to have to get up early and do some exploring tomorrow by way of foot, the neighborhood is very nice and I don't have to worry about folks calling me rude things while I walk. (And they did in my parents' old neighborhood... buncha savages.)

I received confirmation of my application today from the university. Seems the only thing they need from me now is my high school transcript. I didn't even know they needed such things, especially since I graduated from HS in 2003 and I've already graduated from one university already. *sigh* Looks like I've got my work cut out for me.

As for personals...

Lissa- Sounds painful. Maybe some Advil would help? :)

Chele- I know, the weather has been downright crazy lately. In Memphis, we have had 8" of rain for the month of May alone. That's more than we get in 3-4 months. I'm hoping that while I'm in St Louis the weather will cool down a little and the rain will stop.

Luvja and Taylor- Glad you're back on program!

Speaking of on program, it's going to be downright hellish staying on program this week. I am going to make it though, even if it's difficult. It's just a matter of overcoming inertia.

Oh, by the way... my mom has a digital scale here. This oughta be interesting...

Beaka - I always have those looks when I work out with my trainer. The "I'm really workin hard" look involves my eyes rolling back. The first time she thought i was going to die. I was. But that's only because it was freakin hard

aneleh - spinach in a smoothie. never heard of that one before.

Taylor and Luvja - on track pronto.

Nish - i'll be over in 30 for those strawberries. they look amazing.

Brie - do i have time to stuff myself into a suitcase and come along? Have a fantastic time. We will be here making sure you are OP when you get back. But for now, enjoy the food, the guys, and the sun.

stella - haha lucky. I had the opposite happen. I tried to get some baked lays out of the vending machine a couple of weeks ago. Well i tried to get 1 bag out and it go stuck. So I tried again. Stuck. Three freaking times and not a d*** chip to show for it. It was NOT meant to be that day.

Amyleigh - I have gained and lose 6lbs in a day. The body is just plain weird.

Beauty - welcome

So dont tell my boss but today I ducked out of work a little early for an appointment aka going to see my trainer. Best appointment of my life. Now i can pass out. Today is day 3 being OP. Super happy about that. Despite all of the temptations at work...people baking cookies, ordering chinese food, cake with frosting galore.

I am trying to balance out work and the gym with hanging out with friends and other activities. Its kinda working but kinda not. I want to have my cake and eat it to (okay not literally though). Why is it so hard to find time to do the things that I want to do?

05-27-2009, 10:39 PM
It is weird that even though, I've pretty much lived on my own for 7 years give or take a bit, backpacked through multiple countries (on occasion all by myself too!), I still call my parents and let them know that I've made it to my hotel safely when I travel for work? The first thing I always do after walking into my hotel room is call my mom and say "I've made it to City X and my hotel safe and sound, just thought you'd like to know."

Just finished 3 miles in the hotel gym. My second work out today!!! I do haveta say though, why are hotel gyms so crappy? Anyways off to grab some dinner, probably subway coz my eating was sh!t today! Then off to an early bed, that's the best thing about travelling for work I can go to sleep as early as I want and no one says anything! I love my sleep.....

Night ladies!!!

Beaka and starmac- i have those looks too :D My PT today was like "are you ok? how are your lungs? Its just that i can hear you breathing pretty hard". I was like, worry when you cant hear me breathing at all

lissa- get yourself a sedative and get comfy :dizzy: failing that, maybe a hot water bottle?

I used to do the SAME THING. As soon as my plane landed, I'd call my mom and be like "okay, I'm here safe I'll call you later." I kinda miss that. Not that my dad "doesn't care" but I called him when I got to Ohio and he was like "um, alright?" I think its why I miss my mom the most when I'm away for business.

Now I just text the roomie. He kinda cares...

I'm exhausted so I'm going to keep this short. I was being really good about food today, then a friend invited out to a bar. At least I kept it at only about 2 beers. Today was an rest day for me. That means that I have to force myself to get up early and workout tomorrow. I'm going have everything prepared to grab and go in the morning. I really hope that I can force myself to not hit the snooze button.

I'm really struggling to start planning out my meals. Any advice on that? I was considering getting a day planner and writing it down, but I'm afraid I won't follow through with it. I've been doing alright with cutting out a lot of the junk I used to eat. My biggest problem now seems to be the lack of veggies and other things that I need to be sure to eat plenty of.

05-28-2009, 04:14 AM
I had a kinda food victory today. My parents and I went out for chinese food and every other time I'd always think o well if im here i might as well just enjoy it. But today I really thought about it and just had grilled chicken and some boiled rice. And to be honest it tasted just as good and I felt just as satisified and the nice thing was I didnt have that heavy feeling in my stomach chinese food usually gives me. Getting into some kinda of workout routine has still been slow and its been hard to eat better with sooo much unhealthy food around me but Im slowly getting better.

talina- maybe you need something like this? http://www.kikki-k.com.au/cart.php?target=product&product_id=16942&substring=meal you can prob make one yourself if you dont want to buy it

05-28-2009, 08:35 AM
starmac- yea my smoothies usually consist of 2 cups spinach, 1 cup skim milk, 1 cup frozen berries, and half a banana. I can't taste the spinach at all if the banana is in there! I don't usually eat any leafy greens otherwise.

05-28-2009, 11:01 AM
Ghost... I want the meal planner too, I've wanted something like that for forever. I put it in my shopping cart then realized that it's got a $70 shipping charge to North America. I don't think so.

I found this online meal planner, haven't really had a chance to look it over but it looks cool http://www.springpadit.com/springpads/mealplanner/

I also found this free template not as cool as the one Ghost posted but hey this one is free! http://www.diyplanner.com/node/752

An excel template http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC010183031033.aspx

LADIES!!! I have missed all of you SO much... Things have been CRAZY around my house....

First of all, my fiance sprung unto me last week that we are moving closer to his job since I have yet to secure permanent employment here. Kind of sucky, but we'll be closer to everything, and HOPEFULLY :fingerscrossed: I will get a better job opportunity there than here.

I just called to see about cancelling my gym membership, and yeah, they can suck it. I pay $48/month for a couples membership... no spa, no tanning, no nothing. Just machines and weights open 24 hours right? They want to charge me $50 to CANCEL my membership. I didnt see THAT anywhere in our contract... I'm not happy about it whatsoever.

My eating has been horrid. Slightly healthy, but portions are WAAAY out of whack. I know that I can do it, I just need to get refocused. Speaking of which, WW sent me an email the other day with the Monthly Pass half off the first month! So, I am definately signing back up next week.

I hope that all of you have been doing well. I will catch up with personals later.

Kick some butt in the gym, and shed that poundage!!

05-28-2009, 01:59 PM
Hi blissclaire  - I would totally get the gym to hand me my contract so I could review it before I payed that $50. If it doesn't say anything about it in the contract, I wouldn't pay it.

05-28-2009, 02:14 PM
shelly - oh that sounds fun, i bet you can't wait for Saturday then! Wow that is weird they need your HS transcript!

luvja - I dunno how you can stand living where it rains as much as it does there, that TOTALLY blows!

heather - how was the field trip? Love the quote you posted the other day!

Icon - Sorry you are freezing, i hate the cold, i think i'm supposed to live in az for forever :(

aneleh - Yay 30DS, I seriously need to get that, that'd be so much fun to do in muh room! I've been contemplating adding veggies to my smoothie i hear its really good for you!

stella - i'm so glad you are doing what you want, and not what school snobbs want :D Freaking hilarious about the vending machine guy, definitely meant to beeeeee hahaha

talina - way to go taking charge, roommates have been warned! its good for them too anyway :-P

BEAKA!!! you have been gone for a minute girl! How the heck are ya, hows the trainer thingy going? How was the interview?

taylor - good job back on track!

B&B - welcome, hope you keep up the good spirit and enjoy your time off! I hate office job too, but i get in as early as possible so i have the rest of the day to do whatever!!!

amy - the scale is going to be the end of all for me, I am so addicted to it, and damn I fluctuate like that too, seriously up and down that much! I'm glad it went away though

Becky - you are such a qt pie, i love your pictures haha, you are adorable! Good job eating healthy on your birthday!!! I'm all about making june my month! I hAVE to be in the 130's by july 1, I am DEEEEtermined!

lissa - i guess we're all about cookies right now, huh? Sore is good! Just stretchy stretch.

Brie - I'm so in the same boat, I can't stop reading about this fat smash thing, I think i need to quit because if i dont get fantastic results like the stories i read, i'm going to cry! I'm just excited, you should be too! PLUS you're going to Miami!!!

Nish - dang girl, your car is a superstar! everyone needs a spa vacation though, right? haha, you always say things in the best way! haha

chele - sorry its raining!

shan - thats awesome you call your mom and let her know, I'm sure she appreciates it! Hotel gyms do suck, but thank goodness for them or i'd have an excuse not to do something on vacation!

Hi all! I am so excited for today, we are getting our NFL Season Tickets today! YIPPPEEE and my sister is coming in town with her whole family from Colorado, and then my dads b-day party is Saturday! He has no clue we're throwing a party for him, he invited us to go see a band friday nighton his actual birthday cause his sister is in town, and said if we can't come we'll probably BBQ at his house during the weekend! hahaha, It's awesome, I got like 40 people to come, its going to be great. We are all getting together to take a picture with my brothers super nice camera, printing it and framing it for his b-day too. The last picture he has of us all was like 15 years ago! WOOWHO! Had to skip the gym yesterday as the roomies car broke and he had to carpool so we had to pass the gym, its 30 min away, and sucks to go back to in traffic. We went to a cute lil oyster bar last night for dinner, had 2 vodka oyster shooters, YUM, and 2 fish tacos, yum yum yum. So we're pretty much missing the gym the rest of the week, so boot camp is going to kill me saturday! OH WELL Monday is a new month, I can't wait to start smashing!

Happy Thursday ladies, love you all!

Hello lovely ladies,

I hope everyone had (or is having) a good day today. I spent the majority of the day cleaning my room and still have about another 2 hours to go before it'll be somewhat clean. It's a nightmare. I've been in a 14 month Master's program and haven't cleaned my room in say um about 14 months. No dirty clothes or dishes or grossness, just piles of books and papers and general crap. I did manage to organize my closet and now I can see my shoes (I got rid of 9 pair of shoes...9 PAIR!!! i have WAY too many).

I'm super excited because my cousin is starting a custom art business and asked me to do the photos for his website. In return he's going to decorate a pair of sneakers for me (another pair to add to the collection). I'll post some pics when he's done. He's really clueless as far as getting his name out there, so I'm glad my useless advertising degree is proving to be not so useless afterall.

Well, it's about time for me to get back to work on this jungle of a bedroom. Hopefully the dustbunnies won't eat me alive!

Evening ya'll.

Hope everyone has had a brilliant day. The first official day of my trip was pretty good, I didn't get to go walking today, sadly, because it was raining. It was too bad, because the weather was nice and cool out despite the rain... not humid at all.

Anyway, Mom, Sis, and I went to this lovely global market today and of course Mom totally loaded down her basket with sweet things. She and Sis noshed while I nibbled, still pretty conscious about my weight.

Then we picked up Dad from work and went out to eat, and I feel pretty good about my choice. Instead of getting my usual fare, which is like 18 million calories (hyperbole), I decided to get a grilled chicken with veggies, about 450 calories or so. I'm still in the process of finding a diet that works for me, but I figure that was a good choice for the time being. I feel light on my feet. :D

Speaking of light on my feet, having found a digital scale that works for me, I discovered I am down 3 lbs from my more recent attempt at weight loss, and down 9 lbs from my highest. Totally makes me feel better about my weight-loss ventures now that the scale is not permanently stuck at the same weight for five or six days.

Not doing personals this evening, still nursing a bit of a headache and really just wanting to sit and watch the Cubs v Dodgers game. Talk to ya'll later.

Hi All :D

I just got home from Old Navy, and I fit into a size 18 jeans!!!!!!!!!!! Of course I bought them. I can't remember the last time I was in the TEENS in pants :) That's my good news for the night.

05-28-2009, 09:59 PM
Gongrats, Luvya!! That's awesome!! You totally need to take a night out on the town tomorrow in those size 18s to show of your bangin booty on the dance floor!

05-28-2009, 10:21 PM
Good Evening Ladies :)

My day was uneventful, just LONG. All day it felt like it was Friday, even though I was in work clothes and not jeans (I LIVE for casual Friday). I'm heading to Michigan on Sunday, so tomorrow is going to be filled with freaking out making sure I have everything for my trip. I really think they should make xanex flavored water sometimes...

I skipped the gym this morning, so I did level 2 of 30 DS - I think I was only on Day 6 or so of Level 1, but I figured I'd try - OH MY GOD - I was soaking wet by the time it was done, but it doesn't hurt my shins as much as Level 1, so that was nice.

I kept within my points for the day - I think - I left my food journal at work, so I did my best to stay within what I thought I had less. I talked to my dad, and I'm going to apply for the Master's program tomorrow. I'm excited but scared. Its been 5 years since college and I feel like my job has depeleated my ability to read for content instead of just SKIMMING. Ugh.

I'm just relaxing now with my roommate, watching Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I tried to explain this to a coworker the other day, but the only thing I could say was "Its like if someone was high at McDonald's and thought the soda, hamburger and fries could talk and were mean to each other. And they live in NJ"

I'm ridiculously excited to get up and run tomorrow - very odd, but I think I just want the adrenaline rush. According to monthlyinfo.com, TOM will occur sometime in the next 4 days (probably as I get off the plane in Ann Arbor) so I'm going to take all the endorphins that I can get. :carrot:

05-29-2009, 12:17 AM
amyleigh - Thanks girl!

stella - Enjoy your run tomorrow morning :)

Anyways, I'm off to bed. Good night and sweet dreams all you pretty ladies. Tomorrow morning is my weigh in day. First one in a long long time. Yay. I haven't bothered since I had to quit Weight Watchers. So I'm making Fridays my official weigh in days from home!

Morning everyone

Dont have time for personals right now, but just wanted to wish everyone a happy friday.

Morning Girls,

Work has been sorta good to me this week. I am still trying to rec one of my accounts from last period. Ugh. I have spent the last 2.5 hours researching a 1 line charge. I am so frustrated I dont understand a fridgin' thing that is going on still and I have been here almost 3 periods. But at least I found the variance and I can back it up now. I havent walked all week because it had rained every fridgin day. It will be beautiful outside until about 4 pm and then the sky opens and out dumps like 3 inches of rain.

My friends and I tonight are going to see the movie UP downtown. I am kinda excited, its our last weekend before one of our friends goes home for about 3 weeks. He is pretty much the life of the party when he is around but he will be back. Yay for us.

Well back to work for now, we have having a eatin meetin' in about 30 minutes. Its one of those brainstorming sessions..........at least they are providing lunch.

05-29-2009, 01:50 PM
So my boss just called me into his office and gave me a raise. It wasn't much (will work out to about $150ish) extra dollars a month. he though I was making less than I was, so it would have been a 10% raise at that salary. A very minuscule raise at my current one. I know I'm coming off as ungrateful, but I'm grossly underpaid for what I do and feel I've been taken advantage of for what I do. I've been doing the work of two people, literally. They've been looking for a second person to do my job full time and haven't been able to fill it. So the fact that I've been doing 2 people's job and doing it at an underpaid 1 person's salary.... Sigh. However, I do have many wonderful perks at my job. My boss completely ignores me and I can come and go as I please. I pretty much report to no one and do my own thing. That's a definite bonus. I got a raise small or not I should be thankful. ***end rant***

05-29-2009, 03:20 PM
Ahh Michigan weather I swear!! Itwas sooo crappy out earlier...now its mildly cool beautiful and sunny and of course I have to go to work in a couple of hours.

Well time to get off my butt after cleaning and workout so I can shower up!

Oooh don't say that...I'm flying into Ann Arbor on Sunday and staying until Tuesday. I was told its *beautiful* there this time of year so I have high standards for weather.

05-29-2009, 09:18 PM
Hi girls......... its been a bad, bad day. Found out that my job position has been cut for next year. So, put me on the list of the unemployed. Also, today was the last day of school. Another teacher had to pull a sobbing boy off me who was begging to stay with me forever. Oh, the heartbreak. IF I could've scooped him up and brought him home.... I so would of. What a day.:(

Eating has been questionable at best. Sorry girls.

05-29-2009, 11:47 PM
Heather - I'm so sorry. I know how upsetting it is to lose employment. Happend to me 5 months ago, and I have been totally out of control (eating-wise) since. If I can give you one piece of advice that I've learned from all this, it is not to stray from 3FC. I have done that, and now I regret it. We ARE here for you.....

Hi chicks,
Hope everyone had a nice Friday. Wild wild weather here. My main goal for this weekend is to STAY ON PLAN. Weekends are always the worst. I have got to get out of the 260's! I'm tired of being here!
x o x o

05-30-2009, 12:06 AM
Okay. I didn't do very well for the month of May. It's hard to work in a school at the end of the year ... for two weeks, lunch was junk & free! I don't want to be the anti-social one either. Next year, though, I think I'll bring an orange & a salad & sit with everyone. Because, well, let's be honest - at least I'll be SITTING with them. I just can't eat their junk. It sticks to me.

Anyway, I finally joined a new gym. The owner is an exercise physiologist. It's a 24 hour type of place but he's there from 7-5 daily ... so, there is some assistance there. I have a meeting with him the second week of June so that we can set up my fitness plan.

I really want to be in the 120's or so by December, but that may be a big stretch. So, I'd deal with 130's. My brother is getting married next summer & I'd ideally be like ... 115 by then. Melissa Joan Hart is my new inspiration. She looks HOT!

So, I'm back. I'll be active again. So there ya go ...

05-30-2009, 12:35 AM
KE - i understand about the trying to eat with everyone and still be on plan. My co-workers eat out a lot and always are bringing in food that I should not (today there were 2 cakes for a girls bday). As much as everyone was talking about losing weight, i am actually sticking to it. Bring your lunch and if you have time between breakfast and lunch, fill up on some kind of fruit. Its so low cal and filling. Keeps the cravings for cookies and chips at bay.

luvja - this coming week is your week. I can feel it. I am with you for staying on plan this weekend

Heather - oh no. I am crossing my fingers that you find something. But stay on plan, or darn close to it. You have done so well. No going back

I do not think I will ever understand my love hate relationship with the scale. Like i know I fluctuate like no other, but still I cant resist and get frustrated when I see something that I dont like. not cool. oh well. hopefully the morning will be good.

Cake - where are you?

Greetings ya'll,

How was everyone's Friday? Mine went well. :)

So... I went to the university yesterday and toured the campus. Turns out, I don't need my HS transcript after all, so pretty much I am done with the application process. So I continued my tour unabated, seeing that it pretty much looked like any other university, except maybe a nicer one than I went to before. :)

I have also decided to move up to St Louis around June 15th instead of July 27th, just because I am more comfortable up here, with people around and such. Just have to tie up some loose ends in Memphis, and I will be in St Louis by the end of the month. :D

Eating has not been perfect this week, but with all the walking I'm doing I am at least getting some exercise.

Heather- I'm sorry to hear about your job loss. This has happened to my dad several times over the years, but he has just moved on to bigger and better situations. I hope the same for you. :)

Luvja- Hi! Staying on plan is good, let's both try to aim for that!

See you guys later!

05-30-2009, 09:52 AM
Good morning, my lovelies!

Shelly- I'm glad to hear things are going well! I've been to St. Louis only once (and I was in like 4th grade) but I loved it, and it's totally on my list of things to do again.

Heather- I'm terribly sorry about your job loss. It's tough times in the field of education right now. I know it's a horrible situation, but at least you found out at the beginning of the summer when there's still time to apply at other places until next year. Some of the districts around here are notorious for telling people in like late august when other schools are already filled up.

Luvya- I'm sailing with you this weekend. I need to stay on plan SUPER badly. Let's cheer eachother on.

Stella-OMG AquaTeen! My old roomate and I used to watch that show ALL the time. Haha, classic. Carl is by far the best.

SO as for me, crazy weekend this weekend. I have three parties today, including a 5-year old swim party, a graduation party and a Phillies Game (go boys!!) and post-celebration. Let's see how well I do with that!
Stress is starting to get to me. I start the new semester on Tuesday with 7 hours of class 4 days/week AND I have my freaking comp exams next Saturday. 5 days after that I have to do a stupid presentation of an electronic portfolio that I haven't touched since last july. Oops.

Though my diet's been crap recently, I'm somehow managing to stick with the exercising. Usually when I'm stressed, I become super lazy and don't eat at all. I can thank Jillian Michaels for that one cuz now I'm slightly addicted to her ;)

Well chicas, have a wonderful day!

05-30-2009, 04:04 PM
Just finished my workout for the day and had to come and share. I just ran 2 miles at 6mph. :carrot::carrot: I have never done that before. i am super stoked. I can barely contain myself. So far so good on the food. i am going to the annual greek food festival here but have already decided to share food with my sister.

have a great weekend

05-30-2009, 06:18 PM
Hi Chicks!

Hope your all having a good weekend ON PLAN. I messed up today a bit, a friend and I went shopping, we were in Zellers, hungry, and stopped at the restaurant for lunch. I had a grilled cheese sandwhich and FRIES  Oh well.

So last night my home phone is ringing off the hook at 2am. My Mom finally gets up and answers it, don't ya know it's the P O L I C E.
Turns out, my little sister and this guy stole my MOM'S car. They are both 20 years old, not children anymore. Not only do they both not have a drivers licsense, they were both DRUNK out of their minds. And to top it all off, when My Mom and I went to pick up the car, they were drunk on MY bottles of alcohol. She is such a little thief, I don't know what to do. My Dad wanted her arrested, but my Mom wouldn't agree. The guy she was with was arrested because he was the one caught driving. Ughhh!!! How do you do that to your own parents, while you live under THEIR roof, and THEY feed you? I don't understand her, I find it hard to believe we come from the same bloodline actually. So now she gets away with it, and doesn't learn a lesson. Anyways.....

Awesome sale at Old Navy today! $3 T-shirts. I deff. bought some. :D

05-30-2009, 08:17 PM
Luvja....Holy crap!!! I can't imagine stealing my mom's car. Glad she was safe though by the end. I was thinking about going to the Old Navy $3 sale, but I never made it out there.

I realized at about 6pm that I hadn't anything all day long with the exception of a nutrigrain bar around noon. Whoops! I actually got dinner, but it was not all that good. Wendy's chicken nuggets...but at least I got it with a salad instead of the fries. I had to do everything in my power to not order a cookie dough twisted frosty though! haha I was originally thinking of going somewhere else, but as I was driving there, three fire trucks pulled into the parking lot....so Wendy's it was ;) LOL

I came home though to find a random old skating program on tv. It's a Valentine's Day special so why it's on now, I have no idea! But it's fun to watch because some of my favorites from like 10 years ago are on it so it's been fun to go back in time a bit!!

Good Morning ladies!

Heather - I am so sorry to hear about your job!! You're in my thoughts.

Shelly - I think that's great that you're moving up there earlier - you'll have more time to get settled and St. Louis is full of nice people to spend time with.

Luvja - that's crazy! My little sister was the same way, but after she DID get arrested she learned her lesson. That's a long story though...

Starmac - Congrats on the 6 minute miles!

Hi to the rest of you!

As for me, I've had a GREAT weekend so far. Friday I went up to PA to hang with a guy friend of mine. We used to work together and our relationship is not strictly platonic. I got some much needed non-roommate male attention, and it was so nice. We didn't even do anything special, just hung out, talked and watched tv all night (and yes, I drove 2.5 hours for that) but I missed him. We have a very odd relationship, but its comfortable.

This also made me realize that I think I'm ready to start dating again - I took a hiatus after my mom died because I just needed to focus on ME and my mental health. I took it as a sign that I got an email from eHarmony with a 50% off deal for 3 months, so I reactivated my account. Hopefully this will be more successful than last time.

Got back to MD yesterday and slept most of the day, then went to see a grade school production of the Lion King. SO CUTE. The kids were really impressive. Today I'm trying to convince my roommates to go play tennis so I can skip the gym, then I'm off to Michigan tonight until Tuesday.

My eating has been odd - I keep forgetting my food journal at work, and then accidentally eat under my points. I've also been eating at odd hours. Like I had dinner at 11:30 last night (yay Outback). I'm going to get back on track today - 2.5 days of eating out are ahead of me, so its going to be grilled chicken, shrimp and veggies until Tuesday. Yum.

I hope you all have a great Sunday - its beautiful here and I hope you all get to enjoy the weather!!

morning ladies!

so, i made some poor decisions last night. i went to the phillies game (with a sign i made that said "take a ride on the Cole Train"...for Cole Hamels) and made some bad choices for dinner, and drank well over my calories. surprisingly, however, on the way home we stopped at mcdonald's and my other friends on diets all ate quarter pounders and large fries, while I had a water and a banana when i got home. that was the first healthy choice i made all day. haha.

anyway, today begins the week long study session for comp exams. fun fun fun.

hope all is well!

amyleigh - I also messed up this weekend. It happens! We will just have to work extra hard this week ;)

amyleigh - you made a healthy decision when it would have been so easy to indulge in fast food. That is awesome. Good luck on your exams

stella - haha i ran 10 min miles. But one day I hope to run a 6 min mile. And it is perfectly okay to drive whatever wherever to have the comfortable feeling. Do whats best for you.

Luvja - wow I should have been at old navy yesterday. Boo. Also sorry about the whole thing with your sister. I am going through something similar. One day they will learn the lesson. I am just dying for that day to come sooner rather than later.

So far the weekend is going well. I ended up eating a little before going to the greek food festival which helped a lot. I saw people walking around with grilled chicken and beef kebabs so i already decided i was going to eat that. As we were walking in the line, my mom and sister grabbed for the pasta dishes, fried pastries and lemonade. I stuck to my guns. And I felt satisfied both after dinner and his morning.

So with that I am off to the gym. Have a great OP Sunday

Hey guys!

Hope all is well with you. I have had a decent day, sadly have to leave bliss in St Louis and go home to Memphis until I can sort out everything at home. I have to evacuate an entire apartment, clean the sucker, and have it all ready for moving by June 13th. And to top it off, I have to move Frodo as well, and make him live with my other cat Legend. Let's just say that Legend is old and set in his ways and will tear Frodo apart if we let him... good thing I live in the basement with an entryway blocked to kitty-cat entry.

So, I've got a busy two weeks ahead of me. Hopefully I'll do great at eating and exercising and everything will be brilliant. :D

As for personals...

Stella- Sounds like a fun weekend indeed. :) And yes, the suburb my parents live in is very nice... I jokingly call it Yuppieville, as it is mostly populated with recent retirees and soccer moms, but it is nice. Actually, we saw kids selling lemonade the other day, which was kind of quaint but cute. :)

Star- Oooh a Greek festival sounds fun. I absolutely love Greek food (and just ethnic festivals in general... :) )

Luvja- Good grief! Glad they're alright and hopefully have learned not to steal folks' cars while plastered. ;)

Anyhoo, got to make a Target run here in a little while... got about half a dozen things to buy and take care of.
