GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, you get 2 of them today:
Success is nothing more than failure which has persisted long enough to achieve excellence. If you don't get it right the first time, by all means keep on going. What more powerful confidence could there be, than the confidence which is born out of persisting in spite of failure?
The fear of failure keeps most people out of the game. Yet once you've experienced failure, and picked yourself back up again, what's left to fear? Fear of failure is only for the weak and arrogant, for those who foolishly think that somehow they can achieve success without paying the price. Those who know true success also know that failure is not to be feared.
No thinking person would intentionally set out to fail. We must give our best effort, and highest expectations, to each attempt. And if we fall short of the mark it is no disgrace. It is in fact another rung we've climbed on the ladder to eventual success. Out of failure comes the confidence and the determination to succeed.
-- Ralph Marston

Hello Everyone,
Yes, I am alive and well. I may be able to hang with you gals sticking with the diet, but I can't hang with you all posting. How does everyone keep up? I sat and read all of the postings last night...boy have many of you been busy!
Motivational Monday: (from Devotions for Dieters)
Joining the group was the best move she ever made. Fay had struggled alone through a dozen diets with no real success. Then she saw the notice on the church bulletin board about the group that dieted and exercised together. She was a little hesitant at first, but finally she decided to give it a try. What a difference it made! Dieting with a group was much better than dieting alone. She gained so much strength from her new friends, and she was amazed at how much she was able to help others.
Today's Thought:
A diet for two is easier to do!
I can testify...knowing that you are all here makes sticking to the healthy way of eating is soooooo much easier!
Fruitloupe: I said a prayer last night and this morning for you and will keep you in my prayers throughout the day. Hang in there. For laughs you should take BOB's suggestions and walk into the doctors office with those tampons...boy will they take you into the back real fast!!! They will not leave you sitting in the waiting room for long! Smile...Life is Good!
Monet: We are also going west. I would suggest more time in the Grand Tetons rather than Yellowstone. They are about 30 minutes south. The scenery is much more beautiful. I have a friend that lived in Switzerland, France, and several other places across Europe...she said last night that the most breath taking place that she has ever had seen was the Grand Tetons. What dates are you traveling? If you are interested, I can give you places in the Teton Mtns. to visit.
BOB: You always make me laugh!
jRed: Prayers for your daughter!
All others: I have enjoyed reading your posts. Hopefully this week will allow more time to chat with some of you!
Started at 198 June 1st...June 16 (2 weeks) 188.5!!!! YES!!!
If I can do it.....YOU CAN TOO!
Have a wonderful day and week!!!

Happy Monday, everyone.
Hope you all had a good weekend. I managed another walk around the lake with Dan on Saturday evening - 3 miles in an hour. Not too bad for being this out of shape!
Found Blue Bunny NSA ice cream!!! Yay!!! So after our walk, we came home with Rocky Road and I had 1 serving (1/2 cup) with some fresh strawberries on top. Even Dan commented that he'd eat that ice cream anytime. :D
It's going to be another hectic week at work for me, :( so apologies in advance for not responding to every post like I should. I am doing my best to read them all, and will drop a note now and then when I can.
Have a wonderful week!
Hugs to all,

Good morning! This weekend was wonderful. I opted to eat like a horse. :) And it was great. We had mexican on Sat. night. I even had a pina colada.....my first in 7 years. It was delicious. And yesterday we went to a birthday party for my nephew at the pizza place...no pizza but I did have a few too many stuffed jalapenos. So nice. But all that done it's back to the task at hand, eating right and getting more exercise. The scales have stayed on 155 before and after this eating so it's all good. :D
I did try to run a couple more times last week. I didn't do as well as the one day..but oh well. Praise God I can walk. :)
Thanks for the motivationals Deb and Gumbo. They were both very good.
WTG Genn on walking the lake. What a nice place to get your walk in.
Have a GREAT week all!
Love,

The house is officially finished…for now. The roof, siding, windows, door and back step. We will install the lights on Friday and there are some casings around the windows downstairs to do, but all in all it is complete! We will begin on the garage after vacation, but there is no pressure. I just wanted all this done before my parents arrived and it is!
I have been eating terrible things. I am on the wagon again..it seems to make a regular stop every Monday morning for me! I have 4 days of OP eating before my parents arrive. To be quite frank, I plan on eating what I want while on vacation. I am just hoping that the things I want aren’t terribly off plan.
DEBELLI- Prince Edward Island is fantastic! It is a small island on the east coast of Canada. The birthplace of Confederation for us Canadians. It is beautiful, pastoral, serene….just lovely. I am sure you have heard/read/seen Anne of Green Gables. That is their bread and butter as far as tourist attractions goes. I love all that is Anne. There are also gorgeous beaches, fantastic lobster, cute little towns and a lot of historical buildings and architecture. We love it there and so do our kids. The landscapes along the ocean are breathtaking.
MUSICTEACH- Nice blanket…very patriotic of you!
KIMMYTHEKID- So glad to hear from you!! I am happy to hear you have been busy with the church and VBS. My kids look forward to it every year. I will have to change my profile thing I guess. I am going on vacation Friday so when I get back I will look into that. {hug} Hope everything is going okay on the homefront for you and the kids.
JACK_K- Did you have fun at the church picnic? Good eating for you?
HEARTMOM- Your post had me bawling my eyes out. My middle son was sitting here and asked why I was crying. I told him it was something I was reading about Jesus and he asked me to read it to him. He thought it was nice too and understood that the surgeon got saved at the end. {{hugs}} I can see why that story is so precious to you.
GUMBO- Way to go!!! You have reason to celebrate. Now that is great motivation for Motivational Monday!
Okay, I gotta FLY...looks like a hurricane went through here this weekend!

Happy Monday Gang!
Boy I couldn't wait to get to work and read all the posts. There were many. Really busy hre so I just got to skim them all and didn't get to make many notes. So I apologize to anyone I don't post to. Please forgive me. Going to be a wild week here again. I'm already looking forward to Friday.:smug:
Our pinic was good. Think we made close to $140,000. Eating wasn't too bad. Sat dropped D off at 7:00, went and got do-nuts for all the men. That was a killer ride, smelling those hot do-nuts. Ran home and ate my oatmeal and threw a load of clothes in. Headed back and stayed there until 11:30 that nite. Lunch was great. One man was fixing the green beans and he also fixed kilbasa (sp) and cabbage for the workers. So I ate that for lunch. I had 1 chicken leg and 1 rib at 2:00 and never go to eat the rest of the day or nite. But I am totally exhausted. My legs were killing me Sun and couldn't ues my hands. Even went to bed at 8:00 last nite, but I'm still exhausted. I think I'm too old for this.
Sunday went to Lexington to visit my dad. My DS was sick so we ate an early dinner/lunch around 3:00. She wanted me to come early and help her so we headed out w/o breakfast and decided to stop at MCDonalds. I walked across to Burger King planning to get their sourdough burger, thinking that was the least damaging thing. I couldn't eat a salad in the car. It was off their menu so I had to go back to McDonalds and jet a regular hamburger. I ate the bun and all since I hadn't eaten for almost 24 hours. I remembered from my WW days that a reg hamburger wasn't that bad and just counted it towards my carbs. She had, ham, turkey, mac & cheese, broccoli, baked potatoes and slaw. My other DS brought me some slaw and let me add splenda to it. I passed on the potatoe but I really wanted some mac & cheese since I was starving. But didn't. She bought me soem NSA ice cream and had unsweeetend strawberries. They were delicious.
Around 7:00 I was hungry so I just ate a peach and went to bed. I'm famished today but have not had time for my snack.
I haven't had much time to plan menus this week. Got to get back in the swing of doing that and cooking ahead.
Deb, I could do a SB Surviror, ICe cream, cakes, candy no problem. Just dont bring ut the cheese puffs. My downfall.
Quilter, There is a bridal place called Fashion..... (something else) and they are having a trunk show every week with different designers. So we may be heading that way soon. I'll let you know if I need the yellow pages. Thanks,
Nance, I love to read too, but just don't have time in the summer. Someone suggested books on tape so I could listen while I walk. Might give it a try.
Seren, You jobs sounds wonderufl. It is always great to have a job that you love doing.
Monet, Great news on your sister. Keeping her in my prayers.
Jred, Must have skimmed the posts too quick, what kind of surgery is your DD having? How old is she?
Gumbo, Welcome back. Loved your mm post. It is so much easier to diet with a group, friend etc. 90% of my success is due to this board and the people here.
Jenn, Walking around the lake is peaceful I bet. We walk around a pond for one part of our walk and I love watching the ducks and geese. It's my favorite part of the walk.
Country, Pina coladas, stuffed jalapenos, YUM, I love both. I'm jealous. One day though.
Gracious, yur vacation destination sound wonderful. Can I go too? Picnic was good. hetic. I'm exhausted. Eating wasn't too bad cause I didn't have time to eat.
Have a great day everyone. Hope to check in later, but don't know for sure.

Good Monday Morning!
Ok, ya'all ( that is southern for all of youse gals and guy...) here it is a new week. How was the last one? If it was less than you wanted, here is a brand new week to try again. Set some small goals for yourself. Small attainable goals are great motivators! Mine is to eat only program food this week. I am not going to worry about amounts, so if I am stressed and want to eat, I will, but it will be something 'legal', or not at all! It helps to write your goals down someplace too, so you can tick it off as met at the end of the week. It helps you to feel good about yourself, see your progress and convince yourself that this program is worth it! And it is!
GUMBO: We did want to get to the Grand Tetons too...I got all the basic info on it off the National Park site, but you feel free to send me any info you want! We are going the last two weeks of July. If you know great places to visit and stay, I would really appreciate the help! I have been all over the west, but never to Yellowstone or Grand Tetons, so this is going to be fun for me, as well as my husband and daughter. I have been to Crater Lake, and I am looking forward to getting there again. Thanks for your advice and help!
GRACIOUS: Hope you have a great time on vacation! Maybe next summer I can convince my husband to head up north. I have a friend in Maine I would like to meet (oh, you know Buggie from LCC?) and I would not mind getting into Canada either. I loved the Anne of Green Gables films, and would love to see PEI.
I think I would not mind it in winter either, but my hubby is a southern boy, and he thinks Atlanta is cold!
COUNTRY: Sounds like you have a gastromonic time this weekend! How great that you are finding out your limits and can get right back on program. I have heard that getting into running is like two steps forward, one back. You will see your endurance peak, then fall, but it should be going up and up bit by bit, until you can run all the time! You might find reading Bill Phillips Body For Life book helpful on how to increase your levels. You could probably find it at the library. It is very motivating!
JENN: Three miles in an hour is pretty good! You should be proud of yourself! Wish they had that Blue Bunny ice cream here..but if it has aspartame I won't eat it. I would love to find more stuff like that with Splenda. Have a good week! I hope you find time to post some!
DEB: Did you get the kids off for their cruise yet? Where are they cruising too? I think I would be jealous!
Have a great week everyone!

Hi everyone!!!
I survived a week of making 3 cakes and passing up slices of two of them.......YIKES. Not to toot my own horn, but my cakes are very good....everyone was going on about them....I knew how horrible I would feel if I ate any, not so much physically but mentally. I am loving that all my clothes are fitting and loose and looking forward to fitting into smaller ones down the line.
I'm really wondering how I will handle Christmas cookies....I make tons of them for presents.
I just had a very wonderful find. I went to find Trader Joes, I found it and to make things even better in the shopping center next to TJ is a Fresh Fields. I found some great stuff...even though I had my whining three year old with me. It was a quick trip and I told him he would not be back to that store for a long time, he will stay with Dad from now on!!!!;)
Deb, what it the TJ tomato splash you mentioned?? I couldn't find anything like it.
Gotta run!
I'm going to try to keep up with the posts this week, though with the kids being out of school that may be a tall order.

Good afternoon everyone. This is my running late day...LOL... Got some housework done and running around to the bank, post office so maybe now I can take a few to catch up a bit. Hope everyone had a great OP week-end. Mine was nice and quiet. Managed even to read a book. I want that one by Dr. Phil "Self Matters". I'm having an awful time getting my vegetables in. I'll eat a salad at dinner but thats all I want in the vegetable line. Know I need to eat more but I just can't seem to make myself...
Debilli- Your motivation was really good as usual. I love the Sandskirt prayer...
Gumbo- I love "A diet for two is easier to do "
You're just doing terrific on your weight. You should really be proud..
Jenn in MN- Your walk around the lake sounded wonderful and its so nice to have someone to walk with you. Yum Rocky Road my favorite. Don't work to hard, have a great week and hop on when you can.
gracious- Congraduations on all your hard work getting done.. I'll bet your parents will be proud. Good luck with your eating on vacation. That would have to be hard, going away and trying to eat right at the same time.. Wow I would love to go to Prince Edward Island. Have a great time with the Flylady today...
Jack-K- Sounds like you had a great week-end... I'll be trying my first outing with SB in July. My sis and I are going to Branson Missouri for 3 days. I'll be eating out all my meals. Wonder how I'm going to do that!?
Monet- I'll bet you're looking forward to a great vacation. It sounds so beautiful where you're going.. Great motivation message!!!!!!!
Chris- I was figureing by Christmas SB would be inprinted on my brain so much I could bake things and be all right. How lucky you are to have those stores by you Trader Joes and Fresh Fields.
Guess its time to go put the clean sheets on the bed.. Have a great day.... Don't forget that water....

Good afternoon everyone
Hope you all had a good weekend. I had a busy one. I was out Saturday and Sunday morning watching my eight year old gs playing soccer. He had some good games, his team tied one and won one on Saturday and lost the Sunday game in overtime. They were tops in their division. My gs was very pleased as he scored 5 goals on Saturday. He has an Italian grandfather who has been teaching him and his brothers to kick a ball since they were about 2 years old. My eating wasn't so good on Saturday. I took the kids out to lunch and we ended up at Wendys. I didn't want to have my usual of chili and salad as I was taking the same thing (homemade) to work for my supper. So I had the same as the kids, hamburger and fries. Can't say I really enjoyed it but had to eat something. Sunday was a good day and to-day so far. Was busy this morning making chana hummus. I also made Almond Granola, the first time in a long time. Just have to make sure I don't eat it all at once.
Deb - Liked your motivational, particularly the Sanskrit prayer.
Gumbo - It's so true that a diet is easier to do if you have company. And this board definitely makes it easier to keep at it. You have done very well in your first two weeks on SB. WTG.
Gotta run. Should have left for work 5 minutes ago.
Marie.

Hi There!
Boy the board is slow today. We are stil on page 1. Glad though.
have a busy nite ahead, Dinner (have no idea what), cut grass, walk, and a ballgame to visit. I'm ready for bed already. LOL.
Monet, You are very motivating today. I agree about the mini goals. I have set one for myself. By July 3rd I want to be at 180. Don 't know if I will make it, but I'm going to give it a good try. Your trip out west sounds fun. I have never been out west. Only to Texas when I was in HS.
Chris B, WTG on passing up the cakes. You will do fine at Christmas. I baked all day and night last year and neer even licked my fingers once. You can do it. It's yur choice.
Toni, you will be fine on your trip. I think eating out is much easier than cooking at home. Just ket your meat, a salad, and veggies. Pass on the bread. Don't let them bring it to the table. Good luck.
Rosalie, Sounds like your GS is a natural soccer player. He must get it naturally. Glad you are back on the wagon today.
Have a great night everyone. See ya Tuesday.

Hello!
Well, the doctor visit went ok -I guess. He cleaned my nose again and took the packing out. He put a scope in there and he found one source of bleeding. He was able to cauterize that spot. But, he isn't sure if there are more. So, now I wait and see how this does. I go back on Thursday. The good news is - that he really doesn't want to go into the operating room again. That would mean another 8-10 days recouperation! So, we play it by ear now!
THANKS FOR THE PRAYERS!
GUMBO: thanks for the prayers! They worked so far! You must have a direct line to the big guy. I have a few other things that I need prayers for - should I send you my list! haha Congrats on the weight loss - you are doing great!!! Keep it up!
ROSALIE: Sounds like you have a future soccer star on your hands there - glad you enjoyed your weekend!
Well, I'm running - I took a pain pill earlier and I think it's kicking in! See y'all later!

OK, I'm not going to even talk about what I ate this weekend. Funny enough, I'm not mad at myself. At least I enjoyed every last bite!! Eating normally again. My BF is going to start getting in shape again so that'll be a big help. I really want to lose 5 more pounds before August..or before the summer ends :D
Thanks for giving me such a warm welcome back to the board. it's nice to know that I was missed!
Fruit - Nosebleeds are no fun. I hope that you get that problem fixed soon. Make sure to wear black until then. You don't want to ruin all those nice white shirts!!
Rosalie - I've been doing my share of watching soccer as well! I'm so excited that USA is in the Quarterfinals of the world cup. All the games are at 2:30am or at 7:30am EST. I'm late for work everyday!
Chrisb - I have no will power for cakes. Probably because dessert wasn't big in our house growing up.. I guess I'm making up for lost time. However, the feeling after passing it up is quite nice. Especially if the scale goes down afterwards!
Monet- I love going back to my food journals to see how I ate in the past and to see how quickly I lost and to track any patterns or cycles. It's a really good way to get to know your own body I think.
Gracious - When I went on vacation, I managed to stick to SB relatively well. I know that I might have gone off a bit here and there, but I certainly didn't go overboard. I'd have a few fries..but I sure didn't order supersize. I guess moderation is key. I'm sure you'll be fine though. Remember to do a bit of walking and you'll be a-ok!
CountryMOM- if you like pina coladas...I love mexican food. I'm such a sucker for it!!
Jenn - walking is walking. it must be nice to have a lake to walk around.
Gumbo - It's true what you say. It's so rewarding to see myself and others lose pounds and succeed. In New York there is so much negative energy...here, it's nothing but positive!

Just a quickie to let you all know I'm alive and kicking, though not feeling up to the usual self, somethin's been waiting in the wings since last week and it may be finally deciding to take hold of me, but still not sure. It's almost 6pm and I'm ready to go lay down for a while.
I'll have the day free tomorrow to work on a mega post (or so I say that at this time). I'll play catch then, I hope!
Hope all is well with everyone-miss not having the time, or now the energy to read the goings on of the last few days.

LEFT....Yes, the whole left side of my face is afflicted!!!....oh yeah...and my eyelid is swollen! I'm telling you that when I smoked...I was NEVER sick...now I'm falling apart!
I'm pretty sure that what ever it was that I had has now settled in this area..I do feel the start of an earache, and I want that nipped in the bud...

Hello!
Monday, monday! Ugh! Not really, just kind of sleepy and I have pinched a nerve in my upper back or something because boy oh boy, has it been giving me fits today. It felt good when I got up and I did my yoga and got my shower and then all of a sudden when I was drying my hair. Yikes! Stabbing pain in my right shoulder blade. I looked like an accident victim today because turning my head was no fun at all. But I”ll survive. It’s just so humbling that what I was once easily able to do now brings on pulled muscles and pains. Do you all know that poem: When I Grow Old I Shall Wear Purple? Add to that . . . and a Neck Brace.
But the eating is still going well. I am still in the process of building back my SB legal pantry. So I feel like I’m repeating meals a lot, but that’s okay. Not bored yet. Some of my co-workers did a vending machine run this afternoon. One said she just couldn’t help it. Hmmmmm. Anyways, I told them I had enough snacks with me. I really feal as though I want to keep my rededication to SB a secret for a while. I’m just so afraid that I will slip up and fail again. So I’m keeping a low eating profile at work for the time being.
JACK-K---$140K???? Wow, that’s great! Our non-profit could really enjoy a fundraiser like that!!! You all do such a great job! My parents lived in Lex for a while in the Gardenside area. I loved that little part of town. Do you know that area? I don’t know the bridal store you are talking about, but I’m sure I could find it. I am pretty good about finding places in town. Especially the downtown area. I know that really well. But I doubt that store is downtown. Let me know.
TONI---I just started Self Matters last week, but I just brought home another fiction book that is going to jump in line. Isn’t Dr. Phil great?
ROSALIE----Isn’t it a good feeling to know/realize that those fast food meals don’t do a thing for you? After the guilt goes, I sit back and say to myself, See, it wasn’t as great as I had anticipated. Especially the next day when I get the belly ache. Then I know for sure it’s not such a good idea.
DEB---Hope that bug that’s tryiing to nibble at you goes for a very LONG walk and leaves you the heck alone. Are you taking your vitamins??? Hope you are feeling 100% by tomorrow morning. You can’t be sick on your big week without the kids!!!
BOB---Good luck at the drs tomorrow! I hope you get mucho powerful medicine. Sounds like you are ready to be finished with that ick in your head. I am still getting over mine. Both my eyes got puffy and really yucky, and I got drops for them. They helped slmost immediately.
Well, that’s it for me! Tonight I made yummy scrambled eggs with green pepper, mushroom, sausage and cheese. Yes, probably high on the fat side, but definitely legal and very filling! Hope you all have a lovely evening. I’m off to butter up my hubby to see if he will rub my sore back. Good night. And sweet dreams!

I have a few questions concerning SB. How do you handle going out for chinese food at work? Today we had a lunch for the office at a chinese resturant. I ordered beef sticks and vegetables in a hot sauce I only ate the brussel sprouts and the peapods out of the vegetables they also had baby corn, carrots, and water chestnuts. Iwasn't sure if they were legal or not. What do you guys eat if you have chinese? Or is chinese food allowed?
Yesterday I walked 3 miles. I try to walk every other day. I am trying to get my schedule arranged so I can walk at least 5 times a week.
I went to a wedding this weekend and passed on the cake ;) . I was proud of myself. It was really hard to find Legal things to east because they had a lot of pasta salads and seafood salads ,taco salads with chips in it and BBQ wings. So I just had 3 meatballs and some taco salad I just took the chips out. Well enough of my rambling.

KIM....I lived in GARDENSIDE at one time when I lived in LEX...
can't for the life of me tell you what the cross street was, but I was right on the corner...doubt if I could even get there now...
That city has changed SO MUCH in the last 15 yrs...
JACKIE...where do your parents live in LEX ?
I'm off to bed..I'm failing fast..I know the sore throat is on it's way back..and my ears are stopping up again...DANGIT!!! I guess I'm going to have to get the medicine and head on down to stay with the DUNGEON MISTRESS. I hope ELI knows how to take our temps ;)

For dinner tonight, I made SEF'S shrimp scampi recipe. I added a bit of parmesan cheese tho, and served it over ww pasta. Wow! It was great! I had already cooked shelled and deveined frozen shrimp from Sam's and it worked great! Thanks SEF for that recipe! Next time, I will remember to add the pepper!
BOB: You need to get you some Ester C and take it by the handful! It really does help the immune system fight off those infections! I hope you get this stuff whipped soon. No fun being sick!
DEB: Same goes for you...take Vitamin C, lots of it and get well! You need to be in tip top form to enjoy your time 'off' from the kids!
MERCY: I eat a lot of Chinese, but it is a bit hard to get it SB legal, because they usually use cornstarch as a thickener, and sugar as a flavor balance. When we go out to a Chinese restaurant, and I want to stay on program, I usually get a big bowl of soup. You don't want egg drop tho, cause the broth is thickened with cornstarch! If you don't mind a small amount of illegal cornstarch, and it is small, then go for something simple, like chicken, or beef with broccoli. One restaurant we go to a lot remembers us well, and the waitress automatically brings me a plate with no rice. You can ask them to leave it off for you. A lot of places offer steamed entrees for people who are watching fat intake. They would be a good choice as well, since they will not have cornstarch in the sauce. Egg Foo Yung is not too bad a choice, since it is just eggs and veggies- usually bean sprouts and onions. Just ask for the gravy on the side, or none at all! Soy sauce on the top is a nice alternative. Hope all my ramblings help....
QUILTER: I hope you got that back rub! I love getting a massage, and am blessed to have a good friend who is a neuro-muscular massage therapist.. We trade..I fix her dinner for her family in exchange for massage! Works for both of us!
QUIV: How close to your goal are you? I bet you can meet that five pound goal! It is good to have you back! Don't go away again, ok?
FRUIT: I am glad the doctor found something to do to help stop the bleeding. I hope that is all you need to take care of it totally! How are you feeling inspite all of the nosebleeds? Is the pain ok, or are you having to stay on the pain killers? I sure hope and pray you get all healed fast!
JACK: You sound like me! My hubby got home, and I did not have the first idea what to make for dinner! Thankfully, I had some cooked shrimp in the freezer. I think if left to myself, I would skip dinner a lot. I am not often hungry at night, but if I have to prepare dinner for my husband, I usually end up eating too. When all the kids were young and at home, dinner was important family time. Now it is usually just the two of us, as my younger daughter never wants to eat dinner. I think you ought to plan a trip out west! There is so much to see! Mt. Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, the Rocky Mountains...
ROSALIE: I had a Burger King combo meal last week, and when it was all gone, I thought why? I really did not enjoy it! Bet you were proud of your grandson in those soccer games. Five goals! Wow! Maybe soccer will pay for his college education! ;)
TONI: I got some books out of the library today on National Parks. Now I have to start planning where we will go and where we will stay. I bought an extra memory card for my digital camera today so I can take lots and lots of pictures!
CHRIS: Sounds like you are a fellow cake decorator. I can relate to your making cakes and not eating them...its hard! Last year, I made a friends daughter's wedding cake..and it was HUGE. (served about 1000) and then they asked me to CUT & SERVE it too! I was so proud of myself..I did not even lick my fingers. Do you do many cakes? I used to do a lot, but recently I have not been baking as much. I worked as a professional cake decorator at Publix for a while, but took a leave of absence for the summer that has now lengthened into over a year. Thankfully, my family is not big on sweets. I made a birthday cake for my daughter this past week, and used whole wheat pastry flour. :s: It turned out pretty good, but she was mad!
Ok! Time to go and play a bit before bed! I am half way through Miss Congeniality with my daughter. She has watched it so many times she can quote the lines before the actors say them!
Night all! Sweet dreams!

Hi everyone. Hope you are all on the mend. Some of you haven't been feeling very well. i've been away awhile because my computer fried. You never know how much you miss this thing until it is gone. :( Please fill me in on what has been happening in here in the last couple of weeks. My life has been really happening. I don't know if you remember but I was the one who could not have kiddies of our own so we have been through a lot of adoption paper work along with interviews in the last little while. Hopefully our prayers will come true and the good Lord will see fit to give us a little one to call our own. Needless to say i have been doing a lot of emotional eating. How does one really get over that. Any suggestions? Well enough for now take care you all and chat soon G:D

We are home from the hospital. DD is resting on the couch with an ice machine wrapped around her knee. The surgery itself took about 10 minutes, according to the doctor, but we spent 5 hours there. She should be walking on her own in a couple of days.
Jack-K: She had a Plaica (spelled phoenetically) in her right knee. The doctor said he trimmed it and fit it back into its capsule. Everything else in her knee looked great. Now she should be dancing pain-free.
Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow. I'm on a day trip to take my bablygirl to gymnastic camp.

I needed topost for two seconds, if anything, as a marker of where I am reading through everything. Geez, I knew I hadn't been on the computer too much over the weekend, but I had to graze over everything just to get to this point. I gotta go pick up my daughter and friend, sleepover, different house, just to break up things. They want to rent movies, sounds like a night of torcher to me. I have lost more weight, and only have 2 pounds to go to get back to my all time low!!! YIPEE!
Serene, Quilter, Toni, and Monet I will be back to talk book talk ASAP!
Love to all......Nance

UGH! My post got lost and is now floating around in cyberspace. Anyway, I was totally OFF plan this weekend(again). I won't mention what all I ate, just that I was really bad:devil: I have been really craving bad foods lately. Guess it's stress. Anyway, Boogie has a heart cath scheduled for Friday morning. Please pray that all goes well.

HiedieHo All!!
Where did the day go? The NH, had to go and get glasses adjusted for better fit, Hobby Lobby, WD. It was almost three before I got home! Then a little sit-down and prepare supper, meatloaf. I have been stitching since 7 when Inspector Morse came on, so by 10;30 I was ready for a break!
YELLOW - Thnk twice before you let DH borrow scale again! The chickory syrup does not taste like honey or chickory. Just sweet, no flavor so it should not take away anything from a recipe.
FRUIT: I was sending good thoughts your way at the right time. Did it help? Maybe a little. Hope dr found the spot and you will start healing again.
JRED - How id DD doing?
MONET - Hope you are catching up on your rest. Your menu sounded good to me. Never thought to add cheese and have always used raw shrimp, now you've given me food for thought! Also toughts on Chinese.
TRANQUIL - You sound a little like me. When I hit the interstate I fly!!!!! I've only gotten one ticket for speeding years ago and that was a definite trap, they had cars lined up waiting to be ticketed!
GUMBO - Great going! Those pounds will disappear!
JENN: You don't have to answer every post. But do check in, when I do it helps me so much.
COUNTRY - They say confession is good for the soul. Maybe it's good for the waist too!
GRACIOUS: So glad you were able to meet your goal with the house! We are always setting some kind of goal aren't we? Anne was one of my favorite books. The movie I didn't think was so hot.
JACKK - I can feel for you. I can remember going home from the fair one night. Got into the bathtub and sat there and cried I was so tired and achy! But still the end result is what counts. You made a good amount of money for it.
BOB - Gee you don't do things halfway do you? Hope the Dr helps. Remember, you need to lay on your side and moon the temperature taker!
QUILT - Know what you mean about touting you're on a diet! I always feel that people are saying "Yeah, sure there she goes again! Wonder how long it will last this time!"
MERCY - haven't been to a chinese restaurant since starting this. I do make veggies with soy sauce, so I have the flavor now and then. I love Chinese too!
Okay that's it for tonght! Oh! I didn't tell you. Those slacks I bought last week for 2.88 were a wee bit snug, but I boughht thinking I would grow down to them. Well, I did! They fit very comfortably this morning. They match a mint green top I have. So it is like anew outfit! Plus earrings that are older than dirt but matched perfectly. What can i say I was a vision, if your vision is impaired!!!
Night all! Shirley

Good Morning! YAWN! STRETCH! Okay, I'm awake now. Hope you all are too. Just a quick check in. I have to tutor tonight after work, so I'll get home a little bit later tonight.
One important note: TODAY IS THE DAY THAT DR. PHIL FINISHES HIS "GETTING REAL ABOUT FAT" SESSIONS. So get your tapes set if you are interested to hear him. I know it's a repeat and I sure do hope that they show the right one today. Because I've been thinking a lot about what he said last week and want to hear what else he's got to say.
SEF---Hey, congrats on the pants. Wow, you are fast! I can't even imagine going from snug to not snug in just one week. Guess my snug must be snugger than yours. Anyways, what a great feeling for you. I really find that the way my clothes fit really has a strong effect on my mood, attitude, motivation. I really have to be careful. If I start trying on tight close too soon, it can really become a downer for me. Just call me impatient!
Everybody else have a great day. DEB, I hope you got up on the healthy side of the bed today! Let us know how you are feeling!

Good Tuesday Morning!
Just peeking in. Getting back on track this week. Eating SF, ordering new running shoes (1/2 marathon trainers!!), back to the gym...
Life has been a whirlwind since end of April. Ready for the dust to settle now. Party time is over. ;)
Have had a dull headache for days. Not sugar DTs 'cause I've had it since before getting rid of the sugar. Oh well, this too shall pass.
Look forward to catching up with y'all and getting to know the newbies.
Later!

GOOD TUESDAY MORNING!!
This week has started out BIZ-ZEE!! I'm in training yesterday and today. Yesterday the room was packed and I sat between two people who must smoke in their closets at home and then in the car with the windows up and no air on when they are driving to work. It made me naseous beyond belief sitting there! :smoking: :dz: I went and got a candle from one of the girls who sits by me and my hand lotion. Sat there smelling my hand through the whole meeting. I would have moved, but the room was packed and the only place to move to would have been to someone's lap. :o I'm hoping they call in sick today or something.
We have our home inspection tomorrow. I can't wait to get back into the house again! It will most likely be the last time we get to see the house until closing on July 22.
MONET I bought some guar gum at the HFS this week-end to try your egg foo yung recipe! I had no idea it would be in the FIBER section and not the baking goods section. I'll have to let you know how it goes.
Well, I went walking Sunday after not having walked much for a while since we've been house hunting. Did 3.7 miles in 1 hour 8 minutes. It was pushing my limits with the heat and all. I've got to get my butt back in gear since the half marathon is only 6 months away and I've still got to get faster and I've only done 10 miles so far.
Just wanted to check in. Have a great day everyone!!

Happy Tuesday ( I was hoping it was Friday):(
Hope everyone had a great nite. Mine was busy. Fixed dinner, fixed chicken salad for lunch, fixed quiche for dinner tonite. Thought I would never get out of the kitchen. Have to go to the funeral home again tonite. I guess I am at that age when people's parents starting dying. DD wants to go shopping tonite and she has the twins she nannie's for tonite too. So guess we will be pushing a big stroller thru the mall.
Bob,Welps don't sound good. You better get to the Dr. and get something to finally get over this thing that has taken over your body.
Quilter, Hope your neck is better today. No I don't know where Gardenside is. I'm not very familiar with Lexington. Only the campus area and surrounding areas. My sister really lives in Georgetown but it's just easier to say Lex. I find it helps keep me on track the more people know that I am doing SB. That way I won't eat anything illegal in front of them cause I don't want them to think I can't do it.
Deb, Hope you nip that bug in the butt before it gets ahold of you.
Mercy, It's very hard to eat Chinese on SB. I only like one Chinese thing, so I really can't do it. Maybe others who really like it can guide you. WTG on passing up the cake.
Bob, My dad lives with my sister. They live in Georgetown really. Back where all the horse farms are off 922. They have a huge house and a lot of land.
Monet, Boy I really miss potato chips. I have had a bag in the pantry for months now. When I'm ravenous, I really want them, but resist. How nice to trade dinner for a massage.
Gotta, I'm so glad you posted. I have been wondering about you forever. Congrats on the adoption proceedings. Prayers your way for things working out. As far as emotional eating goes, the food isn't going to change the situation except that you will probably gain weight and then yu will be depressed about it. Turn those emotins into something positive, a long walk, etc. Good luck {{{HUGS}}}
Jred, Glad your DD is home and on the mend. Take good care of her.
Nance, WTG 2 more pounds, YEAH Girlfriend!!!
Heartmom, The room will be shaking come Friday there will be so many prayers coming your way. He will be just fine. Keep the faith.
Sef, Congrats on getting into those bargain pants. Don't you just love it when you acan put together a new outfit.
Frog, Welcome Back! We have missed you. Glad you are getting back on track.
Quiv, Onlky 5 pounds by August. You should be able to do that easily. Good luck.
Fruit, Glad the Dr visit didn't turn into a hospital visit. Hopefully, he fixed your problem. take it easy.
Got to run, getting ready to head out for a meeting. Have a great day everyone.

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone:wave:
I'm dressed and ready to go for my walk/jog this morning, but I have no desire to go. After sleeping almost 11 hours last night I feel so tired and drained. My mind wants me to go, it even got me to get dressed, but my body refuses to cooperate, so I'm not going to push, obviously I'm not up to it, though I'm not sure why, you'd think after all this sleep I had I'd be revitalized and energetic! NOT!!
I've been busy trying to help ELI get ready for his new Starbucks to open. It got pushed back another week and now it's scheduled to open on June 28th with a special FRIENDS & FAMILY NIGHT. He has the COFFEE HOUSE GYPSIES coming to play and there's a possibility that this guy I contacted may come in. He's visited over 2800 Starbucks all over the US-I ran across his story on the net and contacted him. Also, have contacted lots of local newspapers and trying to get some of the media to cover the event. This is going to be the most southern Starbucks in the US (for now). All proceeds from the evening is going to SAFE SPACE, a place for abuse and battered families. I've been busy creating games for the event and have lots of other things to work on-I think SB should hire me!!! So, this is keeping me fairly busy.
The kids are out to sea and hopefully having a good time. I heard from both of them on Sunday night via the internet on the ship. They were waiting for the disco to open that evening. I think they go to
San Juan, PR for the evening tonight. I'm sure they're having a good time-what's not to like!
Haven't done much since they've left. Decided not to go anywhere with my Mom this week, just didn't have the money to go anywhere, cheap or otherwise. I'm going to try to work on doing some flylady stuff around the house. I did sign up but have only managed to keep my sink clean and clear for the past week-well, at least it's a start! Yesterday I went to my Mom's so she could pluck some of my hairs - she does electrolysis and I had a forrest growing on my chin all of a sudden! Seems during certain TOM I find this happens, does anyone else get this?
Today, I haven't a clue what I'm going to end up doing. Honestly, I feel like crawling right back into bed or laying on the couch. I don't feel sick, just tired, really tired. Hungry too. Have already had some Fiber One with cereal and 2.5 ounces of chicken. Maybe going back to sleep wouldn't be such a bad thing, at least I wouldn't be eating!!! I know I'm bloated and the scale has to be up, so I'm avoiding it at all costs right now.
I hope you all don't mind if I start anew. I don't think I'll be able to catch up with all the posts since my last "real" post. I know there were some people who asked me some specific questions - would you mind reposting-promise to answer them this time. I will try to skim back on the posts later today if I can find the time and desire.
TONIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST If I'm awake, I'll be sure to be in the chat room!!!!;) TOMORROW IS WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY!!! I wish us all good luck with the metal monster tomorrow-I may not be so eager to jump on it myself.
Will check in later today with everyone.

Hi there!
A quick check in for the day... Joined Curves for Women yesterday, then went back in the evening with my co-worker for the 30+ minute circuit workout. At the time it didn't feel too hard, but I can tell this morning that I worked some muscles!
Didn't manage my WATP tape this morning as I'd planned, but not going to let that ruin my day. Hot wings and salad are on the lunch menu, so I'm looking forward to that! Yum! :D
Have a good Tuesday!

Good morning everyone... Okay here it is one day before WIW. I hope I do good despite the fact that I've hardly walked. Of course I have a barrel of excuses, LOL.... And I still am not eating vegetables. Sure don't know why I'm just turned off them. Guess I'll ride it out and not try to force myself. Maybe just try tonight to have some salad with dinner...
Bob- Oh girl you are really having trouble. I hope the doctor can clear that up fast... You sound miserable and I sure wouldn't blame you.... So glad you're getting rain. I wish you good thoughts today...
The Quilter- Oh I hope your back is better today. A pinched nerve just hurts like **** and thats all there is to it. Congrads on your eating and I know how that is till you get your feet firmly planted you want to keep quiet. I don't want to still spread it around that I'm on SB unless someone asks. Yes I love Dr. Phil. I can't wait to watch Oprah today cause he's going to be talking about weight. I wish I hadn't mixed him last week.
Mercy- Great on your walking Mercy. I wish I would do that. Its hard to handle going out for me to eat. But it sounds like you did really good. I to wonder about chinese food. I do my own stir fried brown rice at home and love it. But I sure wouldn't know what to order off the menu.
Monet- Yummy the scampi sounds wonderful... Thanks for putting some tips on the chinese food. I would love to be able to decorate cakes for the family. But guess its a good idea I can't. I would be one to lick the bowl... LOL.... Stay away from that chip bag...
gottabeme- That emotion eating is hard. But the first step in helping yourself is realizeing you're eating that way and you do. Get out of the kitchen when you're nervous, excited, etc. head outside. Sit under a tree or walk till you can calm down. Just stay out of the kitchen!!!! Take a few minutes at a time and it will turn into an hour. I sure hope everything goes good with you trying to adopt. I'm sure God has the perfect child for you... Good to see you posting again..
jred-Glad your DD is home and that surgery was quick. I'm so glad she got it done and is on her way to recovery. Hope your BG had fun at gymnastic camp..
Nancemeister- Yea hooo for you you! You made my day with your post. Only two pounds and then you're off and running... You've worked for this girl!!! Big ole congradulations.
heartmom-Prayers for Boogie and his heart cath Friday... Please keep us posted how it goes....
Sef- I forgot where you got the chickory syrup??? Wonder if you can bake with it..
Thats so great about the new pants.. Its just amazeing how good it feels to see those lbs. melt off.
Frog lover- Could that head ache be sinus related or allergy? The pollen here in Missouri is awful and it makes me have headaches. Glad you're back to posting.. Miss that green writing!!!
Solshine- good luck on the walking.... Sounds like you're really busy... Hope you don't get stuck between the smokers today...
Jack-K-Oh boy the shopping trip ought to be great with twins!!! Are you walking this week? Hope we do well on the WIW tomorrow....
Debilli- Hope you get to feeling better today. Maybe you need to try and take it easy and fight off the bug thats trying to get you... The flylady saids take babysteps so I do and its working pretty well. I just hope I keep it up. My house is looking so much better but has a long way to go.. Yep chin hairs LOL make there way to me at that time of the month. Go back to bed and rest rest rest....
Guess I'll go for now hope you all have a great OP day and drink lots of water........

HI everyone!
I just made some pizza and it seems too good to be true.
I used a TJWW pita, cut it in half the round way. I used Ragu Pizza Sauce. The ingrediants in the sauce are *tomato puree(water, tom paste), Soybean Oil, Salt, Spices, Parsley, Natural Flavor.*
That sounds alright??? The label says 3g of sugar per 1/4 cup.
I topped it with skim mozzarella cheese and mushrooms.
Was this OK???? It was really good and I have been passing up on pizza and eating chef salad when the family gets pizza.
What do you guys thin?

HiedieHo All!!!
Glad I don't have somewhere to go today! My get up and go got up and went without me. I'm not sick just lazy I guess. So far today, I have eaten, stitxhed a little and watched TV as I did, played computer game, and took some chicken out of the freezer. So you can see I am a bundle of energy! I feel like it's going to rain.
QUILT: If I can stay awake I will try to remember to watch Oprah today. Is your neck better today? Hope so!
FROG: Have missed you of late, glad to see you're still with us.
SOL: I hate it when I am around smoke. I'm not allergic, but can be like you were. It's the same if someone has taken a perfume bath, they don't seem to realize a little goes a long way!
JACKK: I'm at the age where my contemporaries are starting to dop off. It seems every time I hear from home, there is someone else gone or been struck with some kind of malady!
DEB: We keep telling you, GO GET A DOCTOR CHECKUP! There is a reason you are having these lousy ups and downs! You are good about giving advice, how about being good about taking some!?! It's true, so many times mates are drawn into the work of their significant others! I wonder if companies ever think about what bargains they get!
TONI: The chickory syrup was a sample sent by the Cucmonga company to a HFS here when they inquired about Agave for me. The lady gave me the sample. It was a large enough sample that I was able to make the cheesecake with it. I think it will be a good replacement for Agave. As yet it is not on the market, they hope to have it out soon. No date given.
CHRIS: I make pizzas like that all the time, also use Ragu. I also vary the traditional toppings. Your cakes are beautiful, to eat one would be destroying art! The skirt I bought the same day was looser too, I wore it Sunday, although I wasn't totally comfortable in it. I have not had anything around my waist except elastic in years. The skirt only has elastic in the back and it just fwelt strange!
Guess I'd better see about supper and Oprah. Will try to get to chat tonight.
Take care, sef

Hi All! Welcome Newbies!
Sorry I haven't been around, I have been lurking though :)
I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled out on the 7th. I called my doctor 5 days later. He asked me if advil was working. I said "advil? - I'm still taking the vicodin!" So, he told me to come in. Well, the worst one pulled, ended up being a "dry socket" - that's when the protective blood clot doesn't form right or is lost before the area is healed. That means that the bone and nerve endings are exposed to everything. It is excruciating! He irrigated the area, and I just about went through the roof. I was in so much pain. He moved me up from Vicodin to Percocet after that!. This pain from the dry socket is similar to my bunion surgery! Which, considering in both cases they cut through the bone.... Anyways, they pack it in some clove-based fibrous material, which numbs it. But it has to be changed every 1-2 days. Luckily, that was not so painful. So, I am still on the mend, and they feel it will take ANOTHER week before I'm ok.
Doing an internet search, I find that the ADA did a study and found out that dry sockets are more common in women who take the birth control pill. They actually recommend having the tooth extraction after cycle day 21 when you aren't taking any estrogen! If I'd only known that then, I would have scheduled my appointment accordingly.
Tuesday Tip - Drink Milk! As per Reader's Digest current issue, studies show that people who consume lots of milk or milk products (low-fat & skim of course) lose weight. They had noticed it in their clinics, and finally someone did a study, and found it was true!
Well, back to work.

Hi All
Just a quick questions don't have time to post to anyone, sorry. It is crazy here. It's after 5 and I'm still here.
My DH thinks we need to take a potassium supplement since we aren't eating bananas. He thinks that is why we are so tired. I know you can get potassium from other foods, just not sure which ones. What do yu all think. Deb could that be your problem??
Also, reviewing my DD Brides magazine, there was an article about losing weight before the wedding. It rated 4 diets, Atkins, Zone, SB & WW. THey didn't like Atkins and the Zone at all. Thought WW was the best and said they could not stay on the SB thru the week. They said there was no proven fact that insulin release caused you to hold onto fat. Maybe us "losers" should write in. LOL.
Got to run, will hopefully get to post on WIW tomorrow. Hope it is a good one for all.
PS: Toni, I started back on my walking this a.m. Haven't walked since last Friday. I could really tell it to.

Hey All:wave:
Just checking in before the big boy gets home. I didn't do a flippin thing today. Not because it was storming out all day long, that never stops me, but just didn't feel like it. Did manage to get in a nap, like THAT'S so hard to do! Suppose to go to a meeting tonight for school, not going, have no desire to go. Besides, I've never missed one before-I can miss one, schools over, can't be all that important.
I have to admit it, much as I don't want to, I ate waaay off plan today. Not sure what got to me, maybe the feeling blah, but really, there's no excuse for it, it's just that, an excuse. Def. not getting on the scale tomorrow, I can just feel that it wouldn't be a good thing to do. What is a good thing to do, get back on track tomorrow and not worry about what happened today. It's what I'm always telling y'all, just find it hard to follow what I preach sometimes.
I found this guy on the web as I was surfing, that has visited over 2900 Starbucks around the US and 38 in the UK. I e-mailed him and (under Eli's name) invited him to the Grand Opening party next week. He wrote back and said he's going to try and make it and would let me know the end of this week. His story is quite interesting, click on the link below to read a little about him:
If he comes I know that there will be media coverage. I already gave the info to a local show called DECO DRIVE and channel 4 said if he comes to let their entertainment reporter know. I've posted the event in all the local newspapers, even those on line. I'm hoping it will be a good event. I'm try to help ELI all I can, so if I seem to not be on here all that much over the next 2 weeks, I hope you will all understand. Trying to find out if I have it in me to try doing a balloon arch-anyone ever make one??
Well, I'm going to sign off for now. Thanks for all the good wishes, I'm sure I'll be feeling better soon. I'm going to try and make it to chat tonight, but if I don't, I hope you'll all forgive me this week:^:

Hello everyone!
Well, I’ve had another really wonderful SB legal day. Ho hum!!! Getting bored? NO WAY!!! But I did have a few moments with those wonderful legal pretzels. I do much better when I count out a serving and quit after that. Once I stick my had in that bag and start eating, it’s not the way.
Thanks for all the well wishes about my back/neck. Paul gave me a wonderful backrub last night. And that really helped. I slept pretty good last night. And was able to do my yoga this morning. So I think the stretching and positions is really helping a lot. The hardest thing to do is merge on the highway, because it’s so hard to turn around and check my blind spot.
I hope you all caught Oprah today. I really liked what he had to say. Personally, I think he’s right on target and it makes total sense to me. I watched it twice tonight when I got home.
FROGGIE---Glad to see your post. And glad to hear you are getting back on track. Hope your headache hits the road soon. Do you think it’s allergies? A new pair of running shoes sounds like just the ticket to get back into your old routine.
SOLSHINE---I know what you mean about smelling smoke on other people. It makes me sick too. What I hate is how people always stand right outside the doors to smoke and then everybody else has to walk through their smoke. The weird thing is that I smokes for years, but now that I’ve been smoke-free for four years, I am so intolerant of it. I don’t want it around me in any shape or form. I’ve heard it said that ex-smokers can be the worst afterwards. And I think I can relate to that.
DEB---I agree with SEF. Get thee to a doctor now! Aren’t we doing all this work to become healthy??? Well, you need to talk to an expert about what’s going on with you. Don’t want to nag, but I’m a big supporter in getting a checkup once a year. If you are feeling bad, then go. You are worth it!!!
TONI---I thought I was the only one who had the phobia about telling people about being on a diet. Somehow I’m comforted to know it’s just not me. Today at work, two of the women were talking about losing weight. One said that she thought she wasn’t eating enough. And they were talking about other aspects of losing. I just listened. I’m not willing to share what I’m doing right now. All my thoughts about why I’m fat are really personal and I just don’t want to start to air all that. Plus I do think that I don’t want people to watch and wait for me to screw up again. And here’s the thing . . . I really don’t think that any of my friends/family would think that, so why do I go ahead and think the worst??? I give up . . . no on SB, but on trying to figure out why my brain works the way it does. LOL
SEF---You deserve a day to pamper yourself. Enjoy! Hope you did! Great advice to DEB!
BOB---Holy cow!!! You really got hoodwinked by the sicky demon didn’t you. Feel better soon. Take care and don’t go back to work until you are well.
Well, it’s almost time for the chat. I will try to get on, but had no luck las week. Talk to you all later.

It is late, but I wanted to check in. I had a lazy day, and should have gotten more done than I did. I did get my bed made, and the sink is shiny! I did not get dressed until noon tho! :o
The day went pretty well, except I had another handful of those dratted potato chips. I will be glad when my daughter finishes them off. Funny, she has all kinds of Little Debbie snacks, but sugar just doesn't bother me as much as salty potato chips.
This will be short, I got to hit the hay!
Hugs to everyone!
DEB: Quit fooling around. Fatigue can be a symptom of a lot of things, and can be serious. Better to get it checked out then put it off.
CHRIS: I looked at your cakes. Nice! I have a lot of pictures, but I need to load them onto my Webshots album. I will try and get that done soon, so you can see some of my stuff. I love doing unusual stuff...like the 3-d pig I made for a policeman's grooms cake...complete with a donut in his hoof! :) I did cakes at home when my kids were small, and stopped for a while when I first found out I had lupus. Now I am better, and getting back into it slowly. I enjoy teaching the most. I do tend to go from one interest to another... A real renaissance woman..many interests, adequate in many, excells in none!
Sweet dreams everyone!

Good morning, everybody!
Well, I did weigh in this morning. Of course, I don't know if I've lost since this is the first time I've weighed in on my scales in a long while. So now I will have something to compare the future to. It's not a happy number, but it's the truth. So I guess I have to live with it and work past it. The key is not to get down and depressed and not to expect miracles. I swear that sometimes when I've been doing something (like TMing) for such a short time, I expect my jeans to fit. Get real, Kim!!!
That reminds me of something that Dr. Phil said yesterday. He talked about how we constantly are trying to move away from something. We don't want to be fat and that's what we are trying to flee from. But he says we should be moving toward something. He later did a visualization exercise that was wonderful. Very gripping for me and a totally new concept. But anyway, he talked about how we try to lose weight and so we lose some weight and the pain starts to lessen. And as soon as that pain starts to lessen, we may have the tendency to move back to the fat. If we have something we are moving toward, then we can focus on that and stick to it. I know that's what happens with me. I get all excited when I can actually fit into something smaller and then my focus shifts or fogs over and I start "rewarding" myself and then I start to gain. This is such a pattern in my life. I'm going to try to keep that visualization of me as thin and confident and feeling good about how I look & feel in my daily activities. Perhaps each time I am tempted to go illegal, I should bring that picture to mind and remind myself how good that will feel.
MONET---Stop eating those chips! Just keep walking, girl. You know you'll feel better. Get some baby carrots and pop a couple of them into your mouth. At least carrots would have a little nutritional value. And think how good you'll feel when you tell us that you didn't have any. We will send you standing ovations and happy dances. Promise!!!
BTW, I didn't get on the chat until past 9:30 last night and I was all alone. Boo hoo. I stuck around for a few minutes, so sorry if I got there too late and missed anybody.
Have a great day. I hope the scales are kind today. Can't wait to hear how you all do.
Type to you later!

DEB---Here were my two questions.
1. Why is it that we can eat Special K?
2. How many starchy carbs should we limit ourselves to each day? One per meal? Less than that? I'm talking of stuff like: ww pitas, triscuits, ww noodles, brown rice.
Thanks! Hope you are feeling better! HUGS!!!

I did try to post yesterday but it froze on me and I lost it and simply didn't have time to repost. So here I am today and not revealing my nasty results with the metal monster this morning. I am on the last day of TOM and I am hopeful for better news tomorrow.
CHRIS- Your cakes are gorgeous!! I sat here with my kids and looked at them together..they thought they were awesome. What an art that is to have, it must have taken you a long time to become so proficient at it. It got me started talking about wedding cakes with my 8 year old daughter and about the kind she might have one day!
I am getting pestered to death by the kidlettes in the background here now so I have to go. Sorry about not responding to people but if I don't go now, I will lose my mind!

Happy WIW.
Hope the scale is good to everyone today. It was down 2 pounds for me. Yeah!
Just some quick posts, It is really crazy here today. I have to do payroll on top of my work. YUK.
Tranquil, your exercising sounds great. Keep up the good work.
ChrisB, Your pizza sounds great to me. I discovered the pitas not long ago. My family likes them better than the ww pizza crust.
Sef, I hear ya. My get up and go is gone alot.
Tree, Yuk, 3 teeth pulled and a dry socket. Hope you are on the mend. Glad to hear from you.
Deb, Hope you are feeling better today.
Bob, You really know how to do it up right. Man you got all there is. Stay in bed and get some rest. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Quilter, Glad your neck is better. Yoga should really help along with that massage. I'd use that one for a few more days. LOL. I like yur visual idea. I think Dr Phil is right. We al need something to work toward and I think it needs to be more descript than just losing the weight. Hope nexdt WIW is better for you.
Monet, Throw those chips away or have your DD hide them. I'm with you, sugar doesn't bother me near as much as salty things. I'd kill for a cheese puff. LOL

I can not believe it is Wed already! This week has gone by so quick. Monday I took my two youngest to Kings Island (an amusement park). Yesterday we spent the day at the pool....
The weather has been great, so I am trying to take advantage. Not to mention that in the weeks prior, I was so busy w/ VBS, that I had no time for my kids.
To start...WIW.....
Well, I had been weighing around 119...sometimes 120. TOM came and no gain....it is gone and yesterday and today I was 117.
I have been pretty busy and down right ...
active and not eating a lot of food period....only about 1500 calories a day. I have not been exercising really either. Last night I did 2 miles on the bike....first time in 2 1/2 weeks! So who knows about the loss....
My goal is to stay under 125....so I am still there with a bit of slack for those times when I am not doing so good. I actually feel great. I went shopping the other day and had to get some new shorts. All the ones I have are too big. So I just bought 2 and one jeans. I have only bought 2 pair of pants since I have lost weight....always affraid that it will come back one and I will have spent money I don't have. so far I have done well and I will not let it back on!
Kim....
That Dr Phil show sounded great. How many times do we focus on what we don't want! How true. I hope you are feeling better. Nice to have a man around that will rub your hurting neck! I did get your email...thank you! Glad you found the oat bran sticks! They also have the sweet pot. chips. I have not tried them yet, but have them. The sticks are addicting. I try to eat 1/2 a serving at a time....try that is!
Deb...
Go to the doctor!!!! You could have something so simple wrong...but if you don't get in there, it may turn into something worse!
Don't beat yourself up over a bad day. It is when a bad day becomes 2,3, ect days in a row. One day is ok...hey......I like that saying. Isn't the BFL thing about taking a day off each week?
To everyone else.......HI!!! I hope you all have a great WIW....if not...have a great WED anyway and focus on today!
;)

Well I am exactly the same - blah boo hoo.... but I am the puffmama again - so maybe I have lost! Will have to wait and see. Looking at my diary, I can see the fluctuations in swelling, and so this is definitely not going to let me down....because I will lose the water and I will lose many pounds :)
I am still in training at work - this is break time - so I had a chance to post. Hope all is well
I packed a slice of quiche, and a bowl of salad for lunch today - will eat it after the session with the trainer.
I found sugar free bbq sauce at the natural food/diabetic section of Publix, along with low carb/sugar free ketchup - I forgot the brand but it was not Estee... really happy with this find.
Bye all, Sabrina

Good morning everyone. I'm soooo happy I lost 2 lbs. this week making me a grand total so far of 30 lbs. So I'm doing the dance this morning...
Chris- Your pizza sounds great I might have to make me a small one. I usually do the one in the recipe section made with the wwflour and its good and my DH likes it to so I just make one of those...
Tranquil-Yea hoo you're doing so good. Look at you go girl!!! You are going to be in such wonderful shape... Keep up the good work..
Sef- Thanks for the info on chicory syrup. I watched Oprah and then ordered Dr. Phil's book Life Stratagies off Half.com, it has the chapters on weight in it..
Tree- Oh my gosh your dentist story has me in knots... Oh I feel so bad for you that must be just awful... Hope you heal fast and get rid of all the pain soon!!! Huh drink milk!!
Jack-K- I've been off my walking too. I just can't seem to get going on it... Good luck on your weigh in today... Oh my gosh we lost the same two.... I can't believe how close we stay to each other...... Wow congradulations Jack-k!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Debilli- Hope today you're over the blah's and back on track.. Some days are just messed up...
Bob- Well you are a human medical wreck!!! My gosh I feel for you... Stay down, stay calm, pop pills and get over this.... Oh Bob you must be so miserable. I hope the meds kick in and kick that out of you!!!!
The Quilter- You know I think allot the way you do... I don't want to start a big conversation about why I'm fat! And I don't want people watching me. Yes I doing well and its private out in the world. I ordered Dr. Phil's book since I missed last week's Oprah and besides it might give me some help... He's so good.....

Good Morning everyone!
Hope everyone is having a good week. Everything has been going real good over here! No nosebleeds since the doctor visit on Monday - so that is very exciting! Also - I was able to start talking again yesterday! I was kind of disappointed because I'm still hoarse sounding. But, I went to speech and the therapist told me that it could be that I still have scar tissue on the cords or just from lack of use. So, hopefully I'll have a clear voice soon!
Here's my attempt to catch up!
BOB: I didn't know it was possible to have all of those things wrong with you at the same time! HAHA! I sure hope you are feeling better soon! I took celexa after my last miscarriage and I really liked it. It helped me tremendously - let me know what you think.
QUILTER: I just HATE those pinched nerves. You end up walking around real slow trying not to move too much because you know that stabbing pain is right around the corner! I hope you feel better soon! I did catch the majority of Dr. Phil today. I think he is right about a lot of things. I know he is being stern in order to make his point but sometimes I think he is a little rough. What do you think?
MERCY: Whish I had some good tips for you about the Chinese. I love Chinese food so I just try to avoid it if I can. If I do go - I end up off plan! So, see - just avoid is my motto! Sorry I'm not much help!
MONET: That shrimp scampi sounds good! I was off of the pain pills but now I'm back on them periodically. When I went Monday he really pushed around and prodded a lot! So, my nose is very sore!!! Sometimes it hurts to sit upright! The last 2 days I took them in the afternoon once I was finished the things I needed to do. That way I could just nap! Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon!
GOTTA: Good to see you! Congrats on all the adoption news. Hopefully everything will turn out just as your wish. I guess we may have to exchange numbers soon so you can walk me through everything - we may be doing the same thing. We are going to try one more time for a baby and then we are starting the process too. Keep me posted on everything ok?
JRED: Glad to hear that DD surgery went fine. Take good care of her now! I'm sure she will be up and around in no time!!
SEF: I got those good thoughts girl - thanks so much!!!! Way to go on the pants! Doesn't it feel good!!
FROG: Where in the **** have you been!?!? You can't just disappear like that!! We'll have to come over there and tie you to your computer!! HAHA! Glad to see you back on the board - can you tell I missed you!?!
SOL: OMG - don't you just hate when you are sitting next to someone that stinks the smoke! I can't stand that. I have some friends that smoke and they do a very good job of not carrying the scent around with them. They have the bath and body sprays, mints, etc. I can totally relate to that situation - I think I may have had to go sit on the floor! HAHA!
JACK-K: You know - since I've been "under the weather" we have been having people cook for us. Well, they are pretty tired of it - so, what do ya say - you send one of those yummy meals my way! HAHA!
DEB: I really think that there is some underlying problem in your system. You are definitely not yourself at all. You really need to have some blood tests done or something. As for the forest on the chin, I get a few sprouts in this one spot on my chin - I pluck them about 1 time a week! I can't stand those little suckers!!
JENN: We have that Curves place here too - we also have a Shapes to Shapes which is the same thing. I joined once but didn't last long. I got real tired of going in circles - got kind of boring. Also, there were too many stations that had a trampoline kind of thing that I couldn't do cause I was too fat - so I would just do arm weights instead of jumping. So, I was kind of embarrassed. Hope you like it more than I did.
CHRIS: I'm gonna have to check out your cake website - I like looking at cakes - I really like eating cakes! HAHA!
TREE: Ouch - that sounds painful. I had my wisdom teeth pulled when I was in the 10th grade and luckily I didn't have any problems. Maybe I'll take my pain pills and come over to your house and we can hang out together!! How does that sound! HAHA!
Well, congrats to all of the losers. I was up 2 this morning - which doesn't surprise me being that I haven't been on plan. But, It will be off before I know it! Time to get serious again - now that it appears that I am improving. Once I get myself out of this house and running the streets or working in my classroom I won't be staring at the pantry anymore. Ok - I'm off to get my haircut. See y'all later

Good morning! Same ole same ole...155. Guess I am stuck here. It's been 6 months more or less at this weight. :)
WTG Jack-K two pounds is wonderful.
Tree...I hope you feel better soon. I had a dry socket once. I gnawed on motrin for three days before I got to the dentist. Worst pain I have ever had other than my toothache. I should have known something wasn't right I use to work for a dentist. You should be feeling tons better now that it's packed. :) If not let the dentist know.
Kimmy.....you are gonna blow away girl.
Bob and Deb....hope you both start feeling better soon.
Sef...Hope you are having more energy today. I could use some myself. I didn't walk last night so I feel so sluggish today.
Monet...thanks for the information on the book. I will try to find it and read it....if I don't forget. :)
Well ya'll I admit...I've been reading but doign a terrible job at note taking. I will get back on track soon-promise. :D
Have a great day!!!!!

Happy middle-o'-the-week!
Another quick check in for me. Had chinese food over at the future MIL's last night. BIG mistake! Thought I was being polite by eating what they'd ordered, rather than make a big deal of getting my own items. They do the "family meal", with two large items (ALWAYS lemon and orange chicken), fried rice, and eggrolls. Not SB-friendly food at all.
Now don't get me wrong, I like the future family, but being typical native Minnesotans, they have NO adventure or variety in food. It's white rice, white pasta, white bread... I thought my FMIL's eyes would pop out when I suggested ordering the Thai Peanut Chicken.
SO THIS MORNING, I wake up puffed up like a balloon!!! My rings won't fit, my watch won't fit, my clothes are tight, and the scale says I'm up 3 lbs!!! Ack!!!
I know it's water and salt from the food, and that it will drop right back off, but STILL! I haven't had a reaction from anything like this in a long, long time. Ugh! Teach me to fall off that wagon in order to be nice.
Didn't get any exercise in yesterday :nono: but am meeting co-worker at Curves after work. Hopefully I won't be quite as balloon-like by then!
Hope you all have a good WIW!

Good Morning!
I'm holding at 234.5, but that's okay, just glad to get that weight off that I had gained last week. Doing okay on plan, although I did have some of Dan's B-day cake last night. Been drinking alot of water, which really makes a difference.
I've read all the post, and I'm sorry I haven't been on line more, but I have just been busy. Need to get off line, but just wanted everyone to know I'm still alive, and as always thinking of you all!

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone:wave:
I'm feelin' good today-finally! Mentally and physically, I'm feeling better-so good that I went for my walk today and got in 6.5 miles! :D I walked in an area I hadn't walked before and when I came home I jumped in the car to see just how far I went and it was exactly 6.5 miles. Took me 1hr. 19 minutes and 35 seconds, not too bad in this heat and humidity down here I think.
Seems we hit the first snag for Eli's store opening. The band can't play because one of the guys is going to have a root canal. Not good since the info is out already. Next thing is they'll tell us the store won't open next Friday as it should. THEN, I'm going to feel REALLY stressed as I'll be the one trying to get the word out that things are cancelled-not a good thing, I take things like this VERY personally.
No big plans for today-trying to do a few things around the house, nothing exciting. Tomorrow I may go with my Mom up to Broward to just schmize around. Haven't heard from the kids, they're probably having a great time.
I am NOT stepping on the scale today-I know it's not pretty and I'm not going to bother, it will only piss me off. I'll wait til Saturday, June 22 to be mentally tortured! I hope everyone else had a good WIW result on the scale.
JENN, good going on going to Curves-sounds like that chain is springing up all over the place. I don't know if they've made it down here or not, haven't heard of them coming in this area yet.
TONI, CONGRATS on your 2lbs loss-happy dance for you down here! That's a great milestone to hit, 30lbs!! WOO HOO!!! Is there a fly embryo status? My house doesn't look any better to me YET. I know there's hope for me somewhere when it comes to getting the house in order, but right now, I'm still in CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome). Any good tips you've learned you'd like to pass along??
CHRIS, I love pita pizzas! If you like feta, try mixing some feta, tomatoes, onions a touch of olive oil and if you like, a few hot pepper flakes and bake that a in the oven - delicious! And remember, NEVER throw out stale pita-they make great chips and croutons!! The TJ's TOMATO SPLASH is sundried tomatoes with some spices-I'm sureif you ask them they'll be able to point them out to you-I'd think they'd all have the same stuff, esp with it being their own labeled brand. CHRIS, the cakes you have on your site are GORGEOUS! I'm so impressed and so wished you lived closer, I know for sure who I'd ask to make the cake for Eli's Grand Opening! I'm trying to find someone reasonable to put the SB logo and some labels onto the sheet of icing on, the ones that come out of the copier and you just lay them on top of the cake.
SEF, maybe I took your get up and go with mine yesterday and threw them both out the window:shrug: I know, I know, yes, I'm much better dishing it out then receiving, what can I say, at least I admit my problems!!!;) I'll get to the Dr. one day soon-sometime this summer, okay, I've narrowed it down now. Now, I just have to pick which Dr. to go to!
TREE, owie! Sounds like you went through some mouth pain there. Hmmm, maybe I should put the Dentist at the bottom of my Dr. to go to list! I read the same RD article and have read about milk and weight loss in many magazines recently. I always try to get in enough calcium, it's good to hear it has other benefits besides trying to help prevent osteoporosis.
JACKK, CONGRATS on another 2lbs gone-you're doing awesome!
It's possible about the potassium, depends on if one takes a vitamin/supplement or eats foods that have a good potassium content. Here's an article I found on the web:
WHY DO WE NEED POTASSIUM?
Potassium, a mineral, assists in muscle contraction and in maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance in body cells. Potassium is also important in sending nerve impulses as well as releasing energy from protein, fat, and carbohydrates during metabolism.
HOW CAN WE GET ENOUGH POTASSIUM?
Eating a variety of foods that contain potassium is the best way to get an adequate amount. Healthy individuals who eat a balanced diet rarely need supplements. The list of foods can help you select those that are good sources of potassium as you follow the Dietary Guidelines. The list of good sources was derived from the same nutritive value of foods tables used to analyze information for recent food consumption surveys of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Human Nutrition Information Service.
· Promotes regular heartbeat.
· Promotes normal muscle contraction.
· Regulates transfer of nutrients to cells.
· Maintains water balance in body tissues and cells.
· Preserves or restores normal function of nerve cells, heart cells, skeletal-muscle cells, kidneys, stomach juice secretion.
· Treats potassium deficiency from illness or taking diuretics (water pills), cortisone drugs or digitalis preparations.
I think my problem MAY be more related to an iron deficiency, but I guess I won't find that out until I go to the Dr., right?
BOB, geez girl, you really have it all, don't you?!? You AND ELI can't seem to shake this crap out of your bodies. Hmmmm, what have the two of you been doing? No wonder he's been so tired, are you meeting up in the middle of the night on Alligator Alley?
TRANQUIL, glad you are liking the quiche recipe. Did you check out the crabmeat and the ground beef quiches yet? Hmm, maybe I'll try to make one of those this week! Is the BBQ sauce WALDON FARMS?
QUILTER, I'm loving how you're feeling and hearing how well you're doing. I did watch part of Oprah yesterday and yes, I think what Dr. Phil says is so true, we have to work hard at being fat. One has to search out more food to eat than normal. I thought it was a wake-up call for many people who say they have junk in the house for th kids-that we are willing to so easily give out kids this poison. Much of what he said makes you stop and think, which is the whole point of it, isn't it? This morning I went to the fridge, not to pull out something to eat, but to read the MM posting I have up there MAKING CHOICES. I read that this morning and it really hits home when I take the time to read it. I think I'm going to post a few other good ones around the house to motivate me. They seem to help when I seem to be in a funk. I hope you're back/neck feels better today-tell Paul more rubs are needed-milk it for all it's worth! Okay, honestly, I can't understand myself how SB can say SPECIAL K is okay to eat, one of those things I don't agree with them on. I've never eaten it once since I've been on SB. Can't imagine why they allow canteloupe either, it's very high GI! Starchy carbs should be limited to 2-3 a day. My thinking is to have the highest fiber starchy carb you can find. If you are going to have a slice of bread, make it one that has lots of fiber, one that's filling. I've bought breads that have 1 gram of fiber that are light, and I've had breads that have 5 or 6 grams of fiber-I chose the later when I'm able (though the lighter one is better for sandwiches). Try to chose starchy carbs that are going to fill you. A few triscuits alone aren't going to do the trick, but make them into nachos with some protein, now that would. Just like the pretzels, maybe dip them into hummus.
MONET, can't wait to see not only the wedding pics up on line, but more cake pics as well:)
KIMMY wow, 117-that's a number I'll never see! If you are indeed eating 1500 calories and are able to be that low, that's amazing. Sounds like you're having a good time with the kids so far. I could never have a scheduled cheat day each week, as you mentioned, most of my times I've cheated turns into more than one day, it's still something I haven't quite gotten down pat on how to handle, but maybe before I hit 50, I will;)
FRUIT, glad to hear your doing and feeling better! Can't wait to hear that you're back to your ol self. I got one of those 10x mirrors and when I see a hair in that thing, it looks like a stick sticking out of my chin. When I was younger, but in my 20's, I had so much facial hair-I thank God Mom learned how to do electrolysis-saved me a lot of money from having to go out and pay for it. I too have to pluck in between visits to Mom-she hates having to take out the equipment for just a hair or two-have to let them sprout up-so hard to not pluck them out before I go to her.
COUNTRY, has it really been 6 months without any loss? Is there any reason you can see for having such a long stall?
NANCE, tell Dan a belated birthday. Glad to hear the weight isn't too much up there. With dedication and determination you know you'll get back down there and then go lower.
Can't believe it's after 11am already. I guess I'll go and get something to eat, I think a chicken salad sandwich is a good choice for lunch today.
Once again, thanks for all the good wishes, I do believe they worked!!!
Will check in this evening.

Mornin' y'all. WIW wasn't as bad as I expected with my weekend I had. I'm actually still at 153, so if I did do any damage it's been undone.:) I've kept my walking up this week, so good for me. I slept later than usual this morning so by the time I got out it was really hot. I'm looking for a new project now. I finished up Maggie's quilt top yesterday. MIL will quilt it for me. Now I've done quilts for all three kiddos.
DEB: Glad to hear you're feeling better. I was getting worried about you.
FRUIT: Glad you're on the road to recovery too. Take care and don't overdo it.
JRED: How's is DD doing? Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer. Do you have to do any workshops this summer? We're doing one called "Capturing Kids Hearts" in August right before school starts. We do get comp time for it tho, so that's a plus.
JENN: I can never eat chinese without puffing up. Chug a lot of water today. We have a Curves here but I haven't checked it out yet.
BOB: Be healed!:D Hope you're feeling better today.
Gotta run. Dennis is yelling for some help. He's putting in a new thermostat. Check y'all later.

It's been a lovely couple of sunny days here! Hopefully summer is here to stay!
I had a lovely visit with Marie (ROSALIE) yesterday. My inlaws had brought back a case of agave for her (they came back in April) and we finally got together.
WIW was ok. TOM is here. The scale was 170  yesterday and down to 169 today. The weird thing is that I can wear shorts that I couldn't fit into last year when I was about the same weight! DH says to NOT worry about the scale weight but to go by how the clothes are fitting. He says it's probably muscle weight since I've been :strong: . Still, it's that mental thing with the scale.
Sorry I can't stay here long. It's getting pretty warm out and DS wants to go out in the sprinkler! :spin:
Keep doing the best you can everyone!

Here's a couple TUESDAY TIPS a bit late:^: From June 2002 Fitness Magazine
What a single binge does...
Scientist at the Baker Medical Research Institute in Australia have found that even one high-fat meal can cause your arteries to stiffen, upping your risk for cardiovascular disease. In the study, volunteers ate a meal that contained about as much fat as a fast-food hamburger, a shake and fries. Just three hours later, their arteries were actually 25 percent less elastic. Even worse: The effects lasts at least six house, say experts. Most fast-food chains post nutritional info on-line, so check out the starts before you drive through.
Good-mood food
If you're feeling low, try upping your fiber intake. A new study from Cardiff University in Wales found that people with high-fiber diets were less depressed and fell asleep moer easily than those without. Although the connection between the two is still being investigated, study author Andrew Smith, Ph.D., says that proper nutrition helps the brain function. Aim to eat at least 20 grams of fiber a day (though most recommend at least 25-25 grams).

Hi everyone,
Deb
Glad to hear you are feeling better.
I have a printer with edible ink/paper....not sure if they would make it through the mail.
If you want I could post a question on the cake decorators board that I visit, to see if there is anyone in your area. I know there are a lot of decorators in FL They have a very excellent cake club. Let me know.

Thanks for the offer CHRIS. I don't know how they do it, but companies do ship them out. I found a place in MD that can do it, but the problem is getting her a copy of what I want which will be cheaper than sending her the originals and her laying them out for me. We are trying to keep cost to the bare minimum because ELI has such a small budget and we really can't afford to put out $ from our own pockets, yet, we want it to be nice. I just wanted the SB LOGO in the middle with some of the labels surrounding it. The 10x16 would only be $19 plus whatever the shipping would be. I take it they just secure it on a heavy duty board, wouldn't you think?
Let me know if you have any ideas-they are MORE than welcome!!:D

Toni – that is fantastic about the 2 pounds! Way to go!!!! 30 pounds is wonderful!!! Imagine that in pounds of butter or potatoes – I like to think of it in potatoes ;)
Kimmy – 117!! Wow that is pretty thin! Sounds like you are enjoying the summer months with the kids!
Jack-K – You too! 2 pounds – Fantastic!!!! I am so happy for you!!!
Fruit – Yeah, talking makes life so much easier! Hahaha – glad to hear no more nose bleeds, you must be healing up just fine then!
Country – Well just keep eating healthy! Even if the scale is not moving, you must feel better than if you were eating all that awful sugar and starch You have lost so much altogether!!!
Jenn – It may be just me, but seems pretty selfish to invite you to a family dinner where the only food is something not on your plan – next time do make a big deal! You are important and so is your health. Enjoy your visit to Curves…that is going to be fun for you!
Nance – You keep up the good work! Even if you did not lose this week, there is always next week – and you did so well losing those few pounds you had gained
Deb – Oh MY GOSH!!!! 6.5 miles!!!! Superwoman!!!! I believe it is Waldon Farms! It is the first time I have found this sugar free stuff and it makes me very happy! Can you send me a link to the other quiches? My lunch was fantastic today!
Music – what a wonderful thing for your children, to have quilts made by their mother! That is really a nice thing to do! I am right there with you on staying at the same weight….oh well….we have next WIW.
Zanne – that is great about fitting into the new shorts – you must be toning up really well and shrinking up – with inches lost…. Something I dream about for every lift of those weights, and every step I take when walking! Keep up the good work too!
Well, tonight I will be walking and cleaning some more up in the house. Being gone those few days, my house is not in the shape I am comfortable with… I will have to get little one back into shape after Gramma having spoiled him with too much food! Also, the hound needs to get out and start getting her stamina back up after lying around looking spoiled and pitiful – those hound eyes just make my heart twist – hahaha. Finally finished training today! Yeah – now I just have to get used to using all these new programs.
I absolutely love the salad I made – I did a Chopped Greek Salad – I chopped the tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber up into tiny bits with red onion – used that Zeus Greek Salad dressing I am in love with a sprinkled crumbled Goat Cheese – out of this world!
Have a great OP Day all!!!

HiedieHo All!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! You should have heard me ranting and raving last night!!! The only reason you didn't was the cause of the outburst. I could not get into the chat or the board, kept getting the message that they couodn't be displayed. The only consolation? It wasn't just SB, I couldn't seem to get onto other sites either. No wonder computers can m,ake you crazy! Such is life!
Picked up a little more energy by end of day. Did my pool thing and made supper. Made the kids chicken stew. Cut up a breast for me, stewed it and served it over some leftover brown rice. Stitched last night. That's old news, I do most nights.
This morning a sanded and sprayed painted a frame for the dolphins. I bought mats the other day for them. I was glad I could make such a good match with the mats. The frame is silver as it will fit in with towel bars etc. There are also two other dolphin things - a plate and a framed pic and they are silver trimmed so should go nicely.
TREE: I had a dry socket about 40 years ago and still remember the pain! You poor thing, I hope it is getting better you have been suffering a long time!
JACKK: Lots of veggies have potassium, especially broccoli. I just read an article in our paper that said low carb diets like SB don't work. That you should eat veggies, fruit, protein and whole grain products like brown rice etc. DUHHHHHHHHH! They just don't get it do they?
BOB: Poor Bob, like I said, you don't do things by halves! So miserable but you still took time to inform us and keep us up-to-date. Hope you feel better soon.
QUILT: Glad neck is some better. Watched Oprah, he's right in that we certainly do things to undermine ourselves.
TONI: It's really not what people think. It's what we think people think. If we have a low vision of ourselves we think others do too!
MONET: That's not true! You excel in your cake decorating and your caring bout all of us, and in being a good mother.......need I go on?!?
KIMMY: Dr. Phil says throw away all the old clothes, you don't want to have anything around to grow back into.
FRUIT: Glad the nosebleeds have stopped. Your voice will return, takes a little time.
JENN: Sometimes it's more important to be nice to ourselves!
DEB: Procratination is NOT a good thing. You been cycling...feel bad, feel good. Pick that doctor ASAP! Little things can lead to bigger things!
COUNTRY: I had stalled for a long time too. The weight seems to be moving again. My scale is broke (Am I that fat?) I step on it and it will read 245, step off and back 250, off/back 240 so definitely not working. But clothes are fitting better.
Okay, I do have other things to do. Thwe frame is dry so have to put the paint and tarp away. Need to write a couple of letters. My sink is shiny and my bed is made, I'm dressed but shoes!?! They're something I wear when I go somewhere thats not the house or yard!
Take care, Shirley

Hey Gang,
On OT again tonite, getting ready to check out though. I have bunco tonite with the girls. She is fixing dinner and margaritas for us and sitting by the pool. SHure we won't play bunco, just talk all nite. She is fixing some sort of taco ring, so I am bringing a ww totillia with me. I will pas on the margarita (Dang it) and have some wine. (and probably whine about it) LOL:D
Gracious, Have fun playing with the kiddies.
Kimmy, WOW you are doing great. You have a nice cushion to play with. I'm sure you will do great in "maintaining". Have fun with your kids.
Tranquil, BBQ sauce, wow, I would love to find some. Sorry you are puffy today. Hopefully you will see a big water loss.
Toni, WOW, we both did 2 pounds. We are staying neck and neck. So far 2 days walking in a row, Sure didn't want to get up this morning and go but I did.
Fruit, So glad you don't have any more nosebleeds. Glad you can talk again. I'm you will be clear as a bell soon. I don't think you would want one of my meals. Not a very good cook. But atleast it would be legal. Don't overdo!
Country, 6 months at the same weight. That's great if you are maintaining. If you still have some to lose, maybe Deb will have some ideas how to jump start your loss. I'll ask my trainer. She told me if I ever get stalled to let her know. Good luck
Jenn, It doesn't pay to be nice on this WOE. Think about you first. It's ok, you're worth it.
Nance, you are going to undo everything you worked so hard on last week. Was the cake that good. I'm going to have to come ut there (and it's pretty darn far) and kick your butt. Cake is poison. Keep repeating. I hope there are no leftovers. Love ya.
Deb, so glad you are feeling up to par today. WOW 6.5 miles. It's nice to change your path now and then. Thanks for the info on potassium.
Music Teach, Glad you are holding your own.
Zanne, WTG on your 1# loss. I have the same thing with the sizes. I'm smaller now than I was before at this same weight. Guess that is a good thing HUh?
Sef, Computers are great when they work, but boy when they don't watch out. I have read so many articles about SB not working. Who cares, it works for me!
Have a great evening everyone. See ya Thursday.

Hi there!
Just taking a minute to say hello and check in. It has been a busy week and I haven't had much time to post. I hope to be able to do more later tonight.
Well, I decided that I just had to go buy a scale today. I mean, I can't always make it to Tranquil's house on Wednesday to weigh, or so I convinced myself! Secretly knowing that I just had to have one. I couldn't wait to get home, rip it out of the box and get my obsession officially started. Naturally, Murphy's law took over and my quick trip to purchase the monster turned in to a few hours as I had car trouble :( I was so thirsty as I waited in the heat for my car to start, but refused to have a drop of water until I could set my feet on that scale. I was so tempted to weigh in the parking lot of Discount Auto but was afraid I would be carried off in a white jacket. When I finally got home and had my first encounter with the monster, it was kind. I have lost two pounds and am down to 217.5 :D I may want to throw it out the door next week after I go to my family reunion this weekend. Maybe if I follow the example of our great leader and weigh in the buff, it won't be too bad though!
I hope WIW is going well for everyone and that there are a lot of "losers". Sorry that I don't have time to say hello individually, however, I will next time.

Well..WIW I was scared to get on that gym scale after a month of no exercising! I'm down to 146-147!!! I think I've lost some muscle, so it's not a good thing that I lost. I'm going to start exercsing more and continue to eat well. I think at this rate I'll have no problem getting down to 140.
When I think about the fact that I've lost 15lbs...it really amazes me...I couldn't have done it without you guys..

Hi,
I am still trying to get into the habit of posting everyday. I didn't realize today was WIW. I am down 2lbs. I think I ate to many peanuts this week. Do any of you guys eat nuts? If so what kind. I plan to start writing down everything I eat starting tommorrow. I did manage to walk 3 miles today. I
I still would like Deb's input on Chinese food. Im glad to see you are feeling better.
Well I have to go to the store to pick up a few things for the rest of this week.
Also Bob I hope you recover soon :)

hi everyone,
well i am back from vacation, had a wonderful time visiting friends in johnson city, tn. and then on to cincinnati where we had a wonderful time. we had a mini family reunion, went to a reds baseball game (all 16 of us with our kids and spouses), went to kings island (where my daughter got picked for the nickelodeon slime show and did get slimed!) and then to my cousins daughters wedding! we had a great relaxing but hectic time! i also got to meet QUILTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes, BOB we did meet at skyline chili and had a fun time visiting and eating chili. i even took my whole wheat oyster crackers and skipped on the spaghetti part. Kim is wonderful and like meeting my other sugarbuster friends i felt like i had known her for a long time. we had a nice dinner with her hubby and my family. i have a photo to post and will do that later when hubby can scan it for me.
i missed chat last night trying to get unpacked and drowning in mounds of laundry. i did gain 5 pounds (sad face) that could have been because of the greaters ice cream i indulged in, Oprah raved about this ice cream on her show and boy is she right! my family cannot wait to eat skyline when we go home to cinti, i need my ice creamer fix. i did plan (?) to cheat and have a single scoop of mocha chip, unfortunately i did this on THREE evenings in a row! oh well, i am back on program today and know this was a temporary setback.
hope everyone is doing well and having a great week, i may try to go back and catch up this weekend on the posts i have missed.
glad to be back,
chris

Wow. Reading everyone's great WIWs made me happy for you but sad for me. The bummer of it all is that I know I have not been eating right and cannot expect any loss other than what I gained...having said that, I cannot have a pity party for myself so I will just keep on keeping on!
DEBELLI- Glad to hear you are feeling better. My goodness you really went to town on your exercising today! Excellent especially in the kind of heat that you must endure. I thought I would cut in and comment on the FLYLady/Baby/Larva thing ;) I find that when my kitchen is looking good, it really does give me incentive to get going on the rest of the house. I make certain that my kitchen and bathrooms are always sparkling then go from there. It seems to be accumulative to me. Also, she advocates cleaning *incorrectly* rather than not cleaning at all. A quick run through is better than nothing. I am amazed at what I can get done in those 15 minute whirlwinds that she sends us on!
SERENE- I have one of those love hate relationships with my scale. I couldn't live without one but I can't say that I am overjoyed each time I step on it! Now that you have your own you can weigh in the early morning when we are lightest and that is always a built in bonus!
TONI- You are doing excellent girl! What a fantastic milestone.
FRUIT- Still thinking about you and those nostrils! Being hoarse is a drag, people call in the middle of the day and think you are sleeping. That is what has been happening to me since I developed allergies this year..always sound like a bullfrog! Good to know it will go away soon once you are fully mended.
ZANNE- You are hanging around the same place as I am nowadays but sounds like you are better off with fitting into those shorts. It is a continual give and take between 164-169 for me. I was feeling pretty good about myself until I started to pack for my vacation on Friday and tried on my shorts. Oh my...talk about cellulite city! I am partial to spring, fall and winter myself!
KIMMY- You are going to be a toothpick soon. How wonderful for you though, to have reached your goal and given yourself an additional cushion like that. It is nice to focus on your own kids after being with everyone elses at VBS, I am sure. I am looking forward to our vacation and watching the kids play in the ocean. Our youngest is 3.5 years so he will be old enough to enjoy it this time. My parents arrive on Friday and my Mom was telling me on the phone today that she thinks Dad is going to get saved. Of course we have been praying for this but she said he is always talking about it nowadays. My mom just got saved Jan. 8, 2002 so it is new in their home. He has a Christian guy at work that talks to him too and says, "You know the gospel and about Christ, what are you waiting for?" I think that is fantastic! I hope when we get back I can tell you that he got saved while we were together.
MUSICTEACH- Way to go on undoing the damage...I am still working on mine! Makes you feel so much better though doesn't it? Always makes me wonder why I put myself through this because it is never worth it in the end...we work twice as hard to get the same weight off. Guess I am a slow learner!
JENN- I never really knew what people were referring to before when they said they were puffed up and feeling wretched. I never really experienced those things when I ate off plan ..until this past weekend. I had a killer headache and I felt like I was hungover...pretty bad when you think that I don't even touch alcohol! It was like a revelation to me because I finally made the connection between the headache and the carbfest that I had. I think that it is helpful to see the result of us eating off plan so it can help us when we are tempted again in the future.
Okay...I am off. Must read to kidlettes and do a final run around the house to tidy up. Have a good night all!

Hi All,
After the set back of having my scales moved, then lashing out by adding what I consider, unnecessary pounds, I am back on the downward trend. I suppose I should adjust my stats at the bottom of the page.
My husband and I have been busy with trying to pick out carpet for the guest bedroom. We have brought home tons of samples and at first everything turned olive and dark. We had wanted a medium color but we have had to go lighter and lighter in order to give some life to the room. I didn’t realize that it was so low on light in there. Then, one thing leads to another and we think we should paint before the carpet comes which should be down before the new furniture arrives…..it is always something. I am not really complaining on this though.
Gumbo: I understand what you mean about getting to read all the posts. I don’t want to miss anything but I do get behind.
Sef: My poor DH felt terrible about the scales' sudden change and I don’t think he will be borrowing it again. I hope the chickory comes in at a good price because it sounds promising to use as a substitute to the now very expensive agave. I saw it at a HFS in Hendersonville and they had marked it at $5.88 for 8 ounces. What is irritating is that I think those are the same 3 bottles that I left on the shelf when I bought some Congrats on the pant fit. That is always rewarding to wear something comfortably that once was tight.
Tree: Ouch! Sorry that you are in such pain.
Jack-K: I take a Potassium (slow release) tablet that I get from GNC. I was having a little trouble with leg cramps and that did away with the problem for me. I know.....adding it through my food would be better.
BOB: Wow! All those meds should have you up and about soon…..I hope so for you sake. I was out of my mind when it took me three weeks to recover.
Quilter: I still have not tried the pretzels that are by Snyder. My daughter is visiting in July and I think she is bringing me a bag. I was hoping to use them for a pie crust since they are suppose to be somewhat sweet. What do you think?
Deb: Too bad it won’t work to have you walk for me. I am certainly glad that you are full of energy again. I wonder what has been happening. Things are going great for me. It is interesting what journaling does. It makes me more aware of what I am eating as well as trying to stay within the proper percentages. I don’t eat off program, I just eat too much sometimes and then letting the SF sweets sneak in is not good. Interesting about the cantaloupe. I have been having it for breakfast but didn’t look up the G.I. I think I will avoid it until I am on maintenance.
I am off to plan what we will have with the salmon my husband is fixing.
Ellen

Don't have time to post for real...be back later, but wanted to make a comment.
DEB: If you want a logo on a cake, you can take your pix to Publix. Most of them have the copier to make edible images, and they don't charge much for it. If the Publix near you doesn't have one, ask the decorator there where one is that has it. All the stores up here do it, and their cakes are reasonable, and pretty good tasting! I recommend the chocolate. If you want something really good, get carrot cake. It does cost more, but it is the best cake they make.
Ok..gotta go fix some dinner for hubby and I...I'll be BAAAACCCCKKKKKK! !!!

Hello All,
Sounds like alot of you have had a wonderful WIW. Great Work!
What I posted Monday holds true for today still...still down 10 pounds since June 1st. I did eat 2 slices of Pizza Hut pizza with the kids. Boy, I did not realize how good that tasted. I ate each bite real slow and charished every moment and every bite!!!
BOB: Listen to the doc...take your pills and recover quickly! I miss your humor...you make me smile!
Debelli: Even with all of the new obsticles of the grand opening you will pull it all together. That Starbucks guys sounds cool. Does he have a real job besides running from store to store drinking coffee???
Sef: You and your computer are like me. It took me forever to figure this stuff out. Keep trying! Your picture frame sounds very nice!
Jack-K: Your evening with the girls sounds fun. We used to have a group like that when we lived in Virginia...we had a blast...more talking than playing bunco. Congrats on your 2 lbs!
Serene: Boy! You have had one heck of a day! Glad you made it home...now enjoy your new scales!
Quivondra: You will definately make your mini-goal by July 4th! I agree with you...I could not be as determined about losing weight with out everyone's encouragement on this board...they are wonderful!
KimmyTheKid: You have been exercising...running to VBS, the amusement park, etc. You have been very active or shall we say "On the move!!!"
Sabrina: Hang in there! The sugar free BBQ sauce sounds wonderful! I'll look for it myself!
Toni: Congrats on the 2 lbs! I bet you are dancing about the 30 lbs. I'll do the same dance when I reach that point! Keep dancing honey!!!
Monet: We will be in the Grand Tetons July 12 - 19. Do our dates cross over at all? Would love to meet for dinner.
Fruitloupe: Remember...everything worthwhile takes time! Hang in there!
Jenn in Mn: I love my in-laws too, but the best thing we did was to move 1000 miles away...then you do not have to eat that nasty orange chicken anymore!!
Nancemeister: Drink that water...it does make a difference!
MusicTeach: Your quilts sound beautiful. Your kids must love them. Congrats on holding your weight!
Zanne: I think as we age our bodies adjust. I have been up to 180 several times before and each time my clothes fit me different.
Tranquil: Your salad sounds good. I have never tried goat cheese but will also get some to try!
Mercy: Congrats on the 2 lbs. I eat almonds, you might try them rather than peanuts.
BigKnightsMomma - Great vacation! Sounds like alot of fun!
Gracious: Don't feel sad....Come on...Get in the swing of things....Get moving...You can do it!!!
YellowRose: Glad you are back on the downward trend. Your guest room will look lovely whatever you pick. Just being new will look so nice!
Tried to get to everyone...but not possible...will try next time.
Have a nice evening.

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!! :?:
BOB can't say that she feels better, but I can tell you that I was in bed by 8:30 last night and fell asleep (to wake periodically) until 7:30 this morning...good sleep.
Very rested...and I'm about to do it again. I'm believing that this medicine is making me sleepy cause I'm ready to snuggle in !!! :dz:
MISSY...the ONLY thing I'm lacking are those super tampons you've got sticking in your nose! So i'm off to rest...hope you're feeling better :)
TONI...I've really done it up right this time...I NEVER do anything halfassed...just ask Deb
MONET...I might be coming up that way the week of July 20th..if I drive, I'll be sure to let you know so we can get together...airline tickets are pretty cheap right now and I can get out of Sarasota straight into Greenville for under $200...and that's good because we are considered off the beaten path since Tampa is so close.
My trip to S.C. will be a complete chick week...my cousin's husband and their three sons (grown) are going to Wyoming to fish for a week and we will have the house to ourselves! We are the QUEENS of MOVIE MARATHONS....she's just as bad as I am.
PLUS they have that new grandchild that I can run over and spoil.
I was kicking it around as a maybe, but I think I'll go.. ;)
BKM...glad you all are home safe and sound..I knew you would like KIM...she's a sweetie...didya give Paul that pinch for me?
DEB...so glad you're feeling better..but I know you'll be run down by next week...GO TO THE DR ANYWAY AND GET A CHECK UP!!!!

TREE - Dry sockets are also more common during certain times of the month not related necessarily to our cycle. Check the Original Farmer's Alamanac. Seems like one of the more common times for d.s.'s is when the moon is full. Check the calendar! My sister used to work for a dentist and he SWORE my that almanac! Had a very accurate prediction rate with it too!
JACK-K - Unless you have some sort of deificiency or are a regular and vigorous exerciser, your body is already producing more potassium (Vitamin K) that your body can use. I wonder if lack of B vitamins or protien is the culprit for low energy.
BOB - Feel better Babe! Hey to Skeeter!! Dixie and Mary-Ca ("mary kay") were just laying here together snuggling! :D When are you gonna be in S.C? Am gonna be goin' through there 2 times in July!
QUILTER and TONI - Think my headache was pure meanness! :) I also think I was having sugar DTs and sinus poop!
SOL - Hey! Admire your walking in the heat and humidity! It'll be good training conditions for you!
DEB - Have you been to the doc yet? If not, then get there! YOu sound anemic! This is not like you at all! Stop making us all worry and drag your raggedy *ss to the doctor! That's an order!
FRUIT - I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP). Listen to your SLP and do what he/she tells you! Practice good vocal hygeine - no whispering or straining, limit caffinated beverages, NO smoking!!!, rest your voice, and all that groovy stuff! Thanks for the kind words. It was nice to be missed, and I did let people know that I was gonna be checking out for a while! Sorry to hear that your vocal folds are still recovering. Hang in there! I have a friend who is an SLP at the big hospital in N.O. Is it Charity? She ocassionally works with one of the SB authors.
Hello to all! Newbies, old friends, lurkers!
Time to go lay out tomorrow's work wear and wash the old face! Gonna make the 6:00 a.m. double step class in the a.m.
Nice to feel semi caught up with all.

Hi guys. Thanks for the welcome back everyone. It is so nice to be back here after computer shut down. Hopefully I will get to know you all a little better.
Jack K Thanks for the encouraging words. You seem to help me a lot before and I really appreciate you.
Toni B Thanks goes your way as well. Sometimes you just go along hoping someone takes the time to read your little blurb and just knowing you did helps to lighten my day.
Fruitloupe Your words of encouragement were a help as well when I seem to feel like nothing is going right I just come here and someone gives me little boost. Anything you would like to know about adoption feel free to ask. My only thought for you right now is go ahead and get started before you try to have your own. The only reason is it really takes a long haul to do all the paperwork and just getting started now will give you that leg up for when and if you need it. Let me know how it goes. My thoughts and prayers are with you>:)
Tree I work in the dental field and have come across many cases of dry socket. My heart goes out to you. I have never had one but seen many people in aweful pain due to it. Hope all goes well:)
Bob Hope you are on the mend!!!
Deb Good luck with your opening. Positive thoughts going your way :D
Well to all the others I missed nice to be back and keep up all the losses you all are really an encouragement to all of us who need the extra boosts.

Hello!!!
I’m late getting on tonight, because I’ve been trying to straighten up the house. Then I went outside to do some neighbor talking. And it’s already dark and the vacuum is still sitting in the middle of the dining room. Oops! Well, at least I tried.
My eating is going well. Today I had a really yummy lunch. I ate a can of tuna (plain) with triscuits and some steamed cauliflower with a little butter. That tasted so good to me. Yum! I may have to do a repeat for tomorrow.
One quick question. What’s the rule about flour? I was talking to a co-worker today (the one who inspired me to start SB) and we couldn’t remember if unbleached ww is okay or not okay. We tried skimming through my book but we couldn’t find the answer. I feel like such a dummy, but want to make sure I’m clear on it. Thanks!
JACK-K---Girl, two pounds??? Youa re kicking butt and taking names!!! WAY TO GO!!! That’s awesome. See what your hard work is doing! Keep it up. You make me laugh with what you said to MONET. You two girls and your taste for salty foods. LOL
KIMMY---Woman, you are a waif! That’s really thin and I’m so happy for you that you are in yoru cushion area. Fantastic! Great! I don’t think I can meet you for at least 30 pounds. I’d feel much to big. LOL Just kidding!!! Hey, I tried buying the sw. potato chips and I ate the WHOLE bag. That would be a high risk food for me, so I just can’t have them around.
TONI----Can you see me??? I’m the one who’s green with envy. Not really, I’m just so excited for you that you are already at THIRTY POUNDS!!!!! That is so great. I’m doing the happy dance for you. Wonderful, wonderful!!! I think you’ll like Dr. Phil’s book. Which one did you get? I have Self Matters. But I also want Life Strategies (I think that’s what his first one is called). Let me know what you think of it. It’s amazing to me how much better it is for me when I don’t talk about this. I feel so much less stress about it. This morning one of the girls at the office brought in a gift back full of chocolate to share. She brought it in and offered it to us. I just said, “no thanks” and didn’t think about it anymore. And honestly, I think it has something to do with keeping my efforts to myself. Weird, huh? Don’t sweat the 2 today. You can take care of them this week.
DEB---I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better! Whew!!! Heavy sigh of relief for sure!!! I hope you didn’t overdo with the 6.5 this morning. You were a walking maniac!!! You are so right about the Making Choices. Isn’t it empowering to know that this is one thing we have total and complete control of? It’s in our hands (literally and figuratively). So I’m looking forward to the day when I can take credit for making it to completion. LOL Even tho the Special K is legal, I am going to eat it just a couple times a week if that. It could be an addicting thing for me I think. Like a bowl right before bed. No no no!!! Thanks for the answers. I like your idea of hummus on the pretzels. I used to eat humus all the time when I was a vegetarian. Good and good for you!!! Also liked your two tidbits. Very helpful!
SEF---Maybe your difficulties last night was why the chat room was empty by the time I got on. I was surely surprised to see nobody in there. That’s a first!!!
BKM---SO GLAD TO SEE YOU ARE BACK!!!! From vacation and back on the board!!!! Sounds like your vacation was wonderful. How great!!! I am loving it that little S got to be the star of the show at KI. I’ll bet she was in heaven. Did she like getting slimed or did it bother her? How was the weather for you? How was the wedding? How is the big knight? Did Tom every get over his stomach thing? Did you get my email? Am I full of questions or what? Can you tell I’ve been waiting for you to get back? LOL
YELLOWROSE---I’m surprised you aren’t able to get the oat pretzels in Dallas. I would think they’d have them before little old Cincinnati. You will like them. They aren’t a bit salty and just a bit sweet. I think they would most definitely make a FANTASTIC pie crust!!! Great idea!!!
BOB---Go to the Girls Only Reunion. You know you’ll have a blast. When is it? Are you going to have time to recuperate. Yesterday I thought of wee Jay because we went to the hospital to see a co-worker’s brand new baby boy. He was darling. And I wondered how much bigger Jay is by now. Is he growing like a weed????
FRUIT---I truly hope each morning you wake up feeling so much better. This has got to be so hard for you. Hang in there, kiddo. We’re all sending good thoughts your way. I know what you mean about Dr. Phill being tough. He certainly tells it like it is. But I don’t mind that. I feel like I’ve been “talking nice” to myself for months and I always gave in and wasn’t true to what I wanted. It’s not until I had a SERIOUS talk with myself and “got real” that I could Iget back on program. I don’t mean that I’m going about this in a negative way. It’s just that I needed to hear him say that stuff to reinforce where I want to approach this journey from. Does that make sense??? I think I’m putting it badly.
Well, that’s for me. I’ve rambled on long enough. Take care you all!!!

Yep, it's me! :D My family thinks I'm nuts but I made one whole mile tonight at a jog and it only took 10 minutes. Not the worlds fastest but my first mile ever ever ever...LOL The other two miles were walk/run. I got my 3 miles in 37 minutes....so a really good night.
Deb..the reason for the long stall I think is because I just eat too much. And I don't work out as much as last year. Enjoy your time without the kiddos. So glad you are feeling better today.
Zanne....Go with the shorts and not the scales. I know it's hard but I bet you are firming up. And that looks a lot better than a low number.
Tranquil...you are so sweet and encouraging..Thank you.
Sef..hate it when the scales do that. I found my old digital scales when I cleaned out the bathroom cabinet today. They said 184..uh no..LOL They are now in the bottom of the trash can.
Jack-K..no I am not maintaining. I think I just don't watch my diet close enough since I reached this weight.
Serene...Oh no girl no you've gone and done it----hide those scales before it's too late...:D Seriously you are doing so good. Keep up the good work.
Gracious..I do something like that before bed at night. I run through the house and pick it up so I don't have to wake to a mess. Usually only about 5 minutes but it helps.
Gumbo....Glad you really enjoyed the pizza. I think we should savor our cheats-treats. That makes them all the better.
Well, it's past this ole gals bedtime. :) See ya'll tomorrow.
Love,
Crystle

I said last night I was going to be back to post, but I did not make it. It was just Tom and I - home alone...so we went swimming by moonlight. Boy was the water cold! Hope you all did not miss me! ;)
I made a huge mistake today. I drank a large mug of Kava coffee. (which is acid reduced, but not caffiene free) I am not supposed to have caffiene when I am on Phentermine, and so I feel like I am bouncing off walls and can hardly concentrate, or focus on a single thing! I have started several chores, only to get distracted half way through. I even did that with this post, and ran off for 30 minutes, came back and found it half written. Uh oh! :dizzy: Yes, Monet is on drugs!
I did well yesterday. I did not eat any potato chips! Yay me! I think it was cause my daughter was gone all day and out of sight, out of mind. I never saw them, so I was not tempted. I did go to an all you can eat Chinese buffet for lunch. I was not totally true to SB, but did not go overboard. I ate a small dinner to compensate. Scale was up a pound this morning, probably due to the stuff from lunch. Am doubling up on the water today to try and get back on track and back down to where I was.
I put a few pictures of cakes in my Webshots album. These are the only ones I have digital pictures of, but if I can find a scanner, I will add to it. Here is the link:
http://community.webshots.com/user/ellen770
GUMBO: Oh, man! We are leaving Atlanta July 20 to head on out to Grand Tetons. We will just miss you! That is too bad! It would have been great. Where in the south do you live?
BOB: If you are coming through here, I would love to meet you. I hope you come through before July 20th tho...cause we are leaving that day for two weeks out west. If we don't get to meet this time, I may have to come down there. I love Sarasota, and I won't have too much trouble convincing Tom we ought to go for a long weekend! :s:
COUNTRY: Hey, congratulations on that mile jog! I know you must feel pretty good about that. The farthest I have ever made it running was 1/3 of a mile. I want to get to where I can run with my husband, so I think that is wonderful that you have made such progress! It inspires me!
SERENE: Hey, I am so glad you resisted the urge to weigh in the parking lot of Discount Auto. What a scene you would have caused as you were disrobing to get the best weight! Men in white coats? I think the police would have ticketed you for indecent exposure first!
SEF: Thanks for your kind words. I really need to meet you. We have a lot in common! I am totally with you on the shoes deal. I NEVER wear shoes, and when I do, it is Birkenstock type sandals. I wear them until it is so cold out I can't stand it and my toes turn blue, then I switch to my Rockport tennis shoes. Both my husband and I wear sandals to church, and kick them off during the service! He thinks shoes are evil and God intended feet to be bare! He even jogs barefooted!
Ok everyone, my attention span is ending here...hugs to all who I did not address personally...I will do so later today when the caffiene wears off and I can sit still and think again! Right now, I need to go and run off some of the nervous energy or I am going to go crazy!
Oh, wait! I already AM crazy!

Hi everyone. It is another beautiful day here in Cinci. I think another swim type day. We have a nice little pool in out neighborhood that is not too busy. I make my two youngetst (2.5 & 4.5) wear the type of ss that has the floaters in them and then I also make my 2.5 y/o wear water wings...just to be safe. So it is a little more relaxing than last year when Josh, my youngest was falling all over and had no concept of the water and the dangers. I get in a little exercise while I am there as well. You know what I can't wait for is the day when I can take a book and read while my kids are swimming. I would say that is about 3 years away....but I can't wait. I have never had that, for 15 years I have had a child 4 or under and never able to read at the pool. So I figure when Josh is about 5.5 and can swim I might be able to read while watching them.
Gracious...
I hope you have a great trip. Sounds so wonderful. I know what you mean about the youngest being old enough to enjoy...thus you enjoying it more. I would love to go to the ocean this year. My dad lives in Florida....Bradenton...and I went there last year w/o my two youngest, so I went to the beach and all the fun stuff. I will keep your dad in my prayers. Mine is not saved either. What a blessing it would be! Your mom is still a baby as well....so the walk for them would be so exciting!!!
My oldest is going on a mission trip leaving this weekend. I am so hoping it will increase his blessings and bring blessings to them!
Monet...
Those cakes are fantastic!!!! What a awesome gift to have! Thank you for sharing.
I have noticed a few newbies....HI!!!! I had been MIA for a few weeks. I just want to say hello and tell you what a great place this is!
Kim...
Maybe I should not open those s.p. chips! As for me being skinny......no. I would say I am "normal" what ever the heck that is! I think I could weight 100 pounds and think I am still fat in some areas. You don't give birth to 5 kids and not have it change your body. I am about as happy as I think I can be w/ my body...which isn't really happy. It is more of an acceptance thing.
Are you going to any "festival" this weekend? We have one by us that we have gone to and I see everyone of my neighbors..LOL! Cinci seems to be big on those festivals, don't they? My kids love them because the games are cheep and easy. And BTW...gimme a break....you do not need to lose one pound in order for us to get together! I would love to met in July.........what do you think?? I figure by then I will be ready, Kings Island burnt out and pool fried.
Country...
Man....I want to be you! I can't jog to my mail box! WTG! You will be like Deb in no time. I huff and puff after doing my bike for one mile! Keep up the good work gal!
Deb...
I would say I am eating about 13-1600 cal per day...pending on the day. I am so busy. See, before I started dieting, I really was very inactive. Even w/ five kids, I did as little as I could. I have been really keeping busy and started exercising on top of it all. Maybe my metabolism has picked up. I know it increases w/ muscle gain. Who knows?? I am not about to question or complain! The one thought I had was muscle lose due to the fact I did not "exercise" for 2.5 weeks. I was busy, but not really exercising. I do think there is a difference. Either way, I am trying to start up the exercisisng again.
BTW....your awesome! I could not imagine going for that many miles.....in that heat! You must feel so happy!
To everyone else...........HI!!!!!

The Nancemeister is proud to announce that I'm back down to my all-time low! 232.5 I was so good yesterday, and it paid off! YIPEE!!!!!! Now I can really get to business! We ran out of water at work. Sparkletts man where are you???? Don't they know I'm on a mission?!?!?!
Having a great time at work (not!) One of my co-workers, who happens to be one of my best friends....has not been speaking to me for 1 1/2 days...real pleasant, and real immature if you ask me! She "told" me to do something, that I feel I didn't need to be involved in and I said "No" and every since then it's been the silent treatment. I really don't feel I'm in the wrong, but this not talking stuff is ridiculous? I don't feel like apologizing just for the sake of talking again, because I don't feel I was in the wrong. Any suggestions? (p.s. she does the silent treatment to her husband when she is mad at him)
BOOKS ....I never got back with my fellow readers about books. I can't say that I actually read too many novels, but I do enjoy them if I find a good one, but I mainly like to find pictures books on home decorating, gardening, and cooking. Mind you my house is certainly nothing to write home about, but I like to dream of what it will become one day!
Serene I am ready for a road trip! Got a new atlas, and am ready to go...now if I can work on just accruing enough vacation hours and save some $$!
Monet I'm with you on being barefoot! Love it! That's why I have to buy the special foot creme to make them all better! I want to buy a pair of moccasins (sp?). My sister bought a pair of Minnatonka's (sp?) and said they are super comfortable. I'm going to check out your cakes when I have some more time...thanks for sharing with us!
Jack-k I'm back on track and then some! If you can survive not drinking any Margarita's, then I can survive anything!
I deliberatley(sp?) haven't bought a new blender because I know what I would want to make with them, and trust me last summer it became almost a nightl habit:devil:
SEF Are you going to post that Shrimp Scampi recipe on the board for us? Please, pretty please?????
CountryMom How do you do with your water on a regular basis? Are you a big water drinker or not? Just curious. I would rather spend more time with my kids if I could too! Always a good decision!
BOB Hope you get on the mend. Have you been out of work all this time? The girls weekend sounds like fun. I'm always up for those! Saw "The Majestic", which was filmed in Ferndale....not too many scenes in the town, but enough for you to get the picture!
Frog I am going to have to get the "Farmer's Almanac"....I had not idea there was so much advice in it! I believe in full-moon stuff, but then again I have a bat as my avatar! :)
Solshine Hope all is going well with the casa transaction! You'll be planting flowers in the fron yard in no time at all!
Deb Hope yoiu don't wear yourself out with all this grand opening stuff! Too bad about the band, any hope of finding a substitute?
What's all this FLYLADY stuff....I missed something. A web site with cleaning tips? I'm out of the loop!
Tranquil I just saw a program on tv about how good weight training is for woman....supposed to help with osteoporosis prevention and all sorts of other benefits. I need to get my butt back over to the rec center a couple days a week!
Well, as uasual.....I gotta get ready for work! UGH! Isn't it Friday yet?????

Hi, all. I was MIA yesterday because my DD is recuperating downstairs on the couch and wants to use my laptop to chat with her friends. So, being the sweet mom that I am, I have to grab this thing whenever she's asleep. I did get to read the posts late last night but didn't have the enengy to type out a post.
WIW: Same old same old. Was up 1 pound, but it is my week. I'm hoping to see a drop by the weekend when this stuff is finished.
Deb: I agree you should get checked out. When you are eating right and exercising, you should not be feeling yucky. Your body is telling you something. Hope you are having fun with this quiet time. And I hope your kiddos are enjoying their cruise.
Rose: I bet you're glad you are up in the Smokey's instead of being down here on the prairie. It's hot! And we have HUMIDITY today. My HFS can't find any agave for me since I bought out their stock. I've asked her to look for Sweet Cactus Farms but she said she can't find it. So I'm being very stingy with my Agave. I went into mourning when I emptied my first bottle. Now I only have 5! We have Curves here in Rockwall, but I'm paying through the nose now for the Y membership, so I'll just try to get myself into gear and work out up there. I love the pool since they enclosed it.
Crystle: WTG Girlfriend with the jog. I'm with you on the stall. I journaled my food intake on Fitday for a week and got myself back in the routine of thinking about what I was eating. Nothing off plan, but definitely too much food.
Monet: Hope you calmed down. You sound like me and I don't even have the meds to blame. I'm just scatter-brained. Too many things going on. I probably have a slight case of ADD but they didn't diagnose those kinds of things when I was growing up. I was always a quiet, obediant child and my sister was the rowdy one, so people didn't notice me. I could read the same page in a book 5 times and still not know what I read because I was thinking about other things. Still happens today.
Quilter and Toni: I know what you mean about not talking about being on a diet. But I've become a very outspoken person about this WOE and the health benefits of a sugar-free lifestyle. And everyone at school has watched the weight come off. I just hope there's more off by the time school starts again and I can just keep being a positive spokesperson for healthy eating. So don't talk about "the diet". Talk about the healthy eating!!!!
Tree: I am so sorry about your dry socket. I hope you are feeling much better. My DD is on Vicodin, too. She had knee surgery and wants it to be all better right now and is frustrated that she can't walk yet.
Missy: Glad the bleeding stopped. Hope you continue to feel better. Get that voice in gear for those little first graders! Remember what I always said when teachers complained about what those babies couldn't do: They are just Kindergartners who had a 3 month vacation! I love them when they are little and still love you.:smug:
Kimmy: Hope you are having a good day. Thinking about you right now!
Gracious: Have a wonderful vacation. Sounds like a very peaceful, relaxing place.
Tranquil: You should be able to detox your DS fairly quickly. Just keep lots of fruits and healthy things around for him and he'll get right back where you want him. My MIL will do the same thing when she has my kids. They are older now, of course and don't want to visit the GPs anymore.
Serene: Use the scales as a tool, not a drug! Keep it in a very inconvenient place until Wednesday morning so you won't obsess. I need to listen to myself right now.
BOB: How you doin' Friend? Take ALL of your meds. Sinuses are hard to reach and the infection could linger on. Hope you feel better real soon.
Frog: So glad you are back. We need you to give us all a swift kick in the bootie to get us out the door and moving.
Beth: Where are you? I'm going to call you on Wednesday. That's when I'll be in Huntsville.
GBM: Good luck with your adoption procedings. God has the perfect baby just waiting for you to be a mommy.
BKM: Glad you had a good vacation. How's your son? Did he recover from his surgery and ready to play football again?
Jenn: I don't know how well you know your future in-laws, but surely if you explain that you are trying to get healthy, they'll understand if you bring alternative foods. I have had to do that for a long time. My in-laws love sweets and Christmas was torture. We had cakes, pies and candy everywhere. And I really needed lots of fruit and nuts to get me through the visit. I think next Christmas I'll make some SB legal desserts and just eat those.
Nance: How are you doing today? Keep up the good attitude. Just remember we are becoming healthy women(and man) and the weight loss is an added benefit!!!!
Red1: How are things? Are you able to get your parents off the bad foods and towards eating your way so you don't have to cook so many different meals? DS is on his way to Pearl and I probably won't hear from him until Monday when he gets there. Boy instant messages and email have spoiled me rotten. Even though he's half-way across the country during the school year we "talked" every night on AIM. Now he's on a boat in the middle of the Pacific and I can't hear from him. :(
Gumbo: How's your summer?
Sef: Hope you are resting this week.
Mercy: Welcome to the board. I've been gone for a while. I buy the deluxe mixed nuts and try to hold down how much I eat. I also buy almond butter at the HFS. It's delcious.
Jack-K: How was bunko? And the taco ring? I've never been to a bunko party.
Mel: How are you doing? Are you enjoying you DD this summer? As above, I get to see my DS again next week when he meets me in Huntsville, AL. We are driving his car to Annapolis because he can have a vehicle now that he's a second class mid.
Sol: Getting ready for your move?
Zanne & Rosalie: Are you cooler up there than we are down here in TX? We'll all be frying by August at this rate. It's already in the 90s and it's just turning summer tomorrow.
Tina: No workshops for me until August. Our district approved the hiring of 2 elementary instructional technologists and I've applied for one of them. Say a prayer for me, everyone, because I really want to move into this field. I love my job teaching gifted and talented and still have that if the other doesn't work out. Our district has started a Cohort program for teachers wanting to get their master's degree and I am in that. Thought I should get that done before I retire! We take all of our core classes together here in the district. There are 15 of us and it'll be quite different from going up to TAMU-Commerce for classes. I excited and nervous about going back to school.
Fillese: When's the next election? You doin' okay?
Hope everyone has a good day. If I missed you, I'm sorry.
Take care!

Morning!
Another check-in. I've been skimming the posts. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement - just reading makes my day go better!
Made it to Curves again yesterday, and plan to go again today. Normally will try to have 1 day rest between, but schedule this week wouldn't allow it.
Haven't been doing my WATP or elliptical. For some reason have been VERY VERY tired, almost dragging. :( I normally bound out of bed in the mornings, but the last two weeks I can barely stumble up even after hitting snooze far too many times.
Went to Caribou Coffee (sorry Deb) for a skim Chai Latte... not legal, but I don't drink coffee and I was dragging this morning. Even the caffeine, which I don't normally drink, isn't helping. I need to start taking my supplements again, I think.
Unfortunately, the hypertension medication I'm on leaches potassium from my body, so it could be as simple as taking the supplement again to get it back up.
That's about it for now. This website is like a baby - we're in the final weeks, and all we want is to get the darn thing OUT!
Hugs,
Jenn
P.s. Can't remember who mentioned this, but I'm seeing a new Dr. next month, and want to ask her to run a thyroid test to see what's up with me.
Was it the TSH or the T4 that I need to get? What was that about even though the readings aren't outside of "normal", that if they are on the higher end, that it may be sub- something or other? Thanks!

Good morning all, started posting yesterday evening and had to click off my computer. Hope I don't miss anyone today if so I'm sorry... Nice and humid here in ole Missouri today. I'm hopeing to do allot of working on my computer today. Have a small pot of beans cooking for dinner tonight and the house pretty well straightened so I'll see what happens.
Quivondra-Good luck with the more exercises. Bet you're looking good...
Mercy-Congradulations on your 2 lb. loss. WAY TO GO. And 3 miles is so great. I have trouble with peanuts too. If I keep them in the house I find I can't stay out of them so guess thats going to be a no no for me. I keep getting my helping size bigger. I love all kinds of nuts. walnuts, pecans, almonds. I love to cook with almonds.
BigKnightsMomma- Sounds like you had a wonderful vacation. And got to meet Quilter to boot. Now climb back on the wagon and off ya go.... I better never taste that ice cream.LOL..
gracious-All you can do is get back on track now gal and go on. Next week will be better... I see flylady is keeping you busy.. I agree if the kitchen and bathroom are clean you got it made... I just love getting up in the morning to the shiney sink. But whats helped me the most is getting up and dressed.
Yellowrose-Congrads on getting back on track. I know what you mean about one thing leading to another when you start fixing a room up. We are constantly remodeling here. Ouch on the agave price. Just wonder why its up so high and hard to get...
Monet- Howdy do and Congrads on passing up the chips!!
gumbo-AHHHHH pizza hut.....But if you're going to eat it might as well enjoy it...
Bob-Good for you resting lots.. Smart gal... Let that medicine work and you get well soon...
Frog- Howdy to you....
gottobeme- Good to see you posting gal....
The Quilter- Its funny how something a simple as tuna will just hit that spot. I'll do that with somekind of food and eat it for two or three days in a row. Its like your body is craveing something in it. I ordered Life Strategies by Dr. Phil. Its supposed to have the section about weight in it. I got it at half.com for 5. something. I would also like to read self matters. Good for you with the chocolate candy. I'll bet it felt so good to say no thanks...
CountryMom-Yea for your jog. Thats so very good. Keep up the good work. Good luck the rest of the week..
Kimmy- Nice to see you posting... Sounds like you're busy with those kids... What wonderful memories you'll have when they grow up...
Nancemeister- Wow congradulations on being down. You are really traveling on. Good for you for standing up for your rights of not getting involved. Your co worker is really hurting herself. Hope she straightens up and starts talking when she sees its not working on you.... fly lady is a site that helps you organize your house and life a bit... www.flylady.com
Okay I'm at the end of the road here and time to get some other stuff done.... Have a great day...

Mornin' y'all. Got in my 2miles this morning:D AND was down 1 1/2 lbs this morning.:D :D We did celebrate Juneteenth yesterday by eating watermelon. I know it's not legal, but I love it, so I indulged. I've started another quilt. This is a small one for Dennis to cover up with when he's sitting in his recliner. It's just made with scraps left over from other projects. After that I'm going to work on another crochet afghan for my niece. She graduates from Texas A&M in December and I want to make her something special.
Sorry I can't get to everyone. The kids are bugging me to go swimming, so here we go.
Later.

Hi everyone! I am a bit calmer now. I have bread baking in the bread machine. I got two new things in the mail today that I got on ebay. One is a new CD I am enjoying listening too..a new Michael W. Smith one. And I got a new compact flash card for my camera. Now I am all ready to snap LOTS of pictures on vacation! I got both cheap too!
Tonight, we are going to my son in law's father's house, where we had the reception. He invited us, and my SIL's mom so we could all watch them open their wedding presents. They are serving dessert. I will pass on it. I have already heard it is a berry pie. I will try and go full and not be tempted. Since they do not like me, it will be easier. I will want to feel better about myself while there, and passing up a dessert will do that.
J RED: Hey, I do that too...five times on the same page
and I still don't remember what I read! I don't know if
that is ADD, or just being a very intuitive personality.
Intuitives are very easily distracted! I got a double
whammy with the meds and caffiene today!
KIMMY: Thanks! Hey, enjoy these years when your kids
still young! I just married off my middle child, and
boy do I feel old! How I wish I could go back and play
with them again...back when they still thought I was great
and listened to what I said! I sure miss those days!
NANCE: Yay! Way to go on the weight! Flylady is a web
page with cleaning tips. If you sign up, they send you
reminders, and give you routines to help you get it done.
Go check it out at www.flylady.net You need to try some novels! I like the picture books too, but nothing beats the
escape of a good novel! I can get so absorbed, I forget to
eat, and have NO idea what time it is! Honest! As for your silly immature co-worker, just talk to her normally, and like there is nothing wrong. Eventually, she will look ridiculous to the others. :S:
JENN: I think I am the most avid (rabid? :) ) thyroid
preacher here. If you can get the doctor to do both T4
and TSH tests, that will give you a more accurate picture.
If your TSH is above a 3, to 3.5, you might benefit from
a bit of hormones. The biggest problem is finding a doctor
willing to experiment with it. It is a pendulum swing
reaction to over use of thyroid meds to help overweight
people lose weight back in the 50's and 60's. If it is
3.5 or higher, ask. If your doctor won't even listen, find
another doctor. You can look on the about.com thyroid
pages for a list of good thyroid doctors. I am glad you
are getting this checked out. Thyroid problems are very
common, very UNDER diagnosed, and SO easy to treat! Good
luck!
TONI: How far from St. Louis are you? I am going to a
wedding in early August about 30 minutes from St. Louis,
in southern Illinois.
MUSIC: Hope you enjoyed the pool! I admire your constant
creating quilts. I made one once, or twice..but I am TOO
lazy to do more! ;)

Just sneaking a quick post here. I am totally swamped. and really shouldn't be here. I am typing fast.
Someone mentioned weight training. On the news last night they said working with wts not only helps yo tone, but improves and prevents bone density loss. They said no matter what age, 40, 50, 60, 70, you can add back bone density by wt lifting. THey had a 70 yr old who had added back 2%. So it's worth doing and it helps with your metabolism and losing wt. So everyone get out some wts and start lifting.
BUnco was fun last nite. So relaxing. My friend, save me some meat and some strawberries so while they had strawberry shortcake, I still got to eat something. She is so sweet. I won 2nd prize to. It was a western print relish tray. Very pretty. My DD is eying it up. Probably wants to take it with her. LOL.
Serene, WTG on the 2 lbs. Now stay off that scale until next WIW. Good luck at the reunion.
Quiv, COngrats on your loss. Got to keep exercisng thugh. I have decided that it is something you have to do for the rest of your life.
Mercy, Wow 2 lbs. Congrats. I used to eat peanuts when I started. But now I only eat them occassionally. Nuts are good for yur thugh. I used to be so strict and count out 12 nuts. Now I'm not so strict.
BKM, Sounds like a graet vacation. Bet the kids had a ball. Nice that you got to meet Quilter. Hop right back on that wagon and that 5 pounds will be gone in no time.
Gracious. Make that committment, get back on the wagon for one week and see great results.
Yellow, I have RLS (restless leg syndrome) so I might try that potassium supplement to see if it helps. Thanks.
Gumbo, Have you ever tried making pizza at home with the ww crust. I really like it and you don't feel deprived.
Bob, glad you are getting some rest. That's the best thing for you right now. Get well.
Frog, I take a B6 everyday for my carpal tunnel (I'm falling apart) and I eat alot of protein. Who knows, just getting old I guess. LOL How's the SL@H going?
Gotta, glad you are back posting. I felt like we made a kinda "connection" Good luck. I was thinking abut you adopting on the way home last night.(Sometimes it's dangerous for me to be alone with my thoughts) but it really takes a special person to adopt a baby. That baby will be so luck because You really wanted him badly Good luck.
Quilter, Thanks for the kind words.
Country, great time on your walk/job. You are doing great. I can't run a whole mile yet. I break mine into 3 parts.
Monet, A moonlight swim sounds so romantic. Hope you come down off the high. Keep drinking, probably alot of sodium retention. I can't believe your DH jobs barefoot. I never go without some type of shoes. Have fun watching the opeing of the gifts. I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't like you. What's wrong with those people.
Kimmy, Your pool day sounds refreshing. Wish I could go. Good luck on getting back to exercising.
Nance, WOW< HuRRAH! I know you could do it. I am doing the Happy dance for you. Now just keep on going. Sounds like your co-worker is very immature. No suggestions. Yes I did pass on the margaritas. Had wine instead.
Jred, Hope DD is getting better daily. Bunco was very relaxing. We sat around the pool and had dinner and drinks (only wine for me). I took my ww tortilla and was perfectly legal.
Jenn, I have been soo tired to lately. I think I need to take some type of supplement too.
Toni, If you have your house straight and your dinner cooking, you are all set. Wish I could say the same.
Music Teach, WTG on the 1.5 pounds. Keep on truckin.
Have a great day. I won't be back ontoday, but hopefully tomorrow.

Hi all,
This has been a very hectic week for me. My family is having a 25th wedding anniversary so we have been busy, busy, busy! Tonight is the rehearsal and the ceremony is tomorrow. So, we have have famliy coming in from everywhere, Missouri, Atlanta, Canada and Ohio. It is really hot here today it is 92 degrees. I had a good day today as far as my eating is concerned. I'm so glad I will be off from work until Tuesday. Thank God.
Last night I was in the mall with my husbad and I brought the book Sugarbusters Shopping Guide. It really gave me a better insight as to what we are allowed to eat. It's really a big help when you are out grocery shopping. I used it last night at the store.
Gumbo- maybe I will try almonds since I can't control myself with the peanuts.
jred- Thanks for the tip about the almond butter I think I will pick some up.
Toni 48- I have relatives coming in from Missouri They are from St. Louis.
Jack K - I think I am going to stop eating peanuts beacause I have a hard time controlling myself once I get started. I would never just count out 12.
Well I have to go now to get to rehearsal. Have a great day all!!:)

OK, survived the pool. Actually it’s just a small, inflatable pool (6X10) in the backyard. That’s enough for me. :) Hopefully the kids will be sufficiently worn out and will conk out early. Wishful thinking. James and Sarah have been going to VBS with the neighbor kids this week and Dennis is working today so it will just be me and Maggie for a while tonight. A bit of quiet anyway.
Read an interesting article while waiting to get James’ new frames adjusted. It was in Reader’s Digest. Wonder if any of y’all saw it. Anyway it said that milk and other dairy products can greatly enhance weight and fat loss. Didn’t get to read it in depth, but it was very interesting. Gonna try to do a little more research on it. Let me know if any of you have any great knowledge on the subject.
JACK-K: Awww. How nice of your friend to think of you with the strawberries. :) That sounds soooo good.
MONET: Hope the dinner at the inlaws goes well. And WTG on you ebay efforts. Love Michael W. Smith.
JENN: Hope you’re feeling better. There must be a draggy bug going around.
JEANIE: Wow, working on your Master’s huh? If I had not done that before I had kids I never would have done it. I’ll have to give Dennis most of the credit, tho. I had already started working on it when we got married. He wanted me to finish so my dad wouldn’t blame my not finishing on him. Got my Master’s at TAMU- Commerce (when it was still East TX State). How’s DD?
NANCE: WTG on your new low! What’s with the friend? Don’t you just love it when grown ups act like kids?
KIMMY: Did you swim today? It makes me really nervous to go to a big pool with my kids. None of them swim too well.
MONET: Have you calmed down yet? I can’t handle much caffeine either. Makes my skin crawl.
COUNTRYMOM: Wow! I’m impressed. A mile run. I would not even attempt it. Too many jiggles for one thing.
GOTTA: Don’t think I said it yet....WELCOME BACK!
BOB: Hope you’re feeling better today.
GUMBO: WTG on those 10 lbs. Keep it up, girl.
GRACIOUS: So glad to hear about your mom and will be praying for your dad. He just doesn’t know what he’s missing, right?

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!
BOB is somewhat better, my eyelid is still swollen and still hurts...lymph nodes are still swollen, ear tube is still aching just a bit...I guess I'm not as "better" as I thought :?:
I've been going to work because I'm not contagious to anyone but myself...since I sit in an office and there isn't anything physical, I would rather not use up my PTO for being sick! ALTHOUGH...had I stayed out just three more days, I could have
used my banked time for illness...I've got over 800 hrs in there, but you have to use 40 hrs of regular PTO before getting into it.
Yes, I'll be going to the CHICK WEEK at my cousins...she's located in the mountains, and her back porch wraps around the back of her house...wonderful in the mornings for coffee, and in the evening for a toddy or two ;)
Sorry MONET....I've decided to fly, but it's the afternoon that you're leaving so we'll do it next time..
Ladies...I'm off to recline...I've already taken my medicine and feel lethargy coming on...good MOB MOVIE on this evening so I'll watch that...or, should I say...I'll have it on?????

Did you'll think I got lost on my way back from FL????? Sorry I have not had the time to sit down & post since we're back from vacation. We had a WONDERFUL time. My DS & BIL had a great time too. This vacation is definitely a memorable one.
SEF, I found the perfect spot for that "Friends" piece you gave me. Again, let me say how very much I enjoyed our visit in your home & do hope that we will be able to get together again in the near future.
I will try to post a couple of pics. This first one is SEF in her pink sitting room doing one of her favorite things, needlepoint. This is a beautiful piece she was working on at the end of May.
OK, the pics are too big to upload. I'm going to post them on a site & enter the site address here. Try this & see if it will work. I've posted an album of 9 pics taken during our trip. Hope it works!!

Serene & Tranquil, I did really enjoy our lunch & long chat that day at St. Augustine. Wendy, glad to see that you've decided to join the board. Both you gals are so soooooo well!!! Sabrina, way to go girl!! You're really shedding those lbs. Sounds like the training is really working for you!
SlapHappy, are you back from vacation??? Hope you had a nice trip to Gatlinburg. If you're like me, I was kind of reluctant to head back for work after the nice relaxing time we had. But work I must. At least I'm fortunate to have work that I dearly love. My patients always bless me. Well, most of them anyway... I really did enjoy getting to know you & Donald. And did I forget to mention that we also have a Sheltie??? She is 4 yrs old. Thurman found someone that has 2 males to sell for only $100 each & we're talking about getting both of them if they are still available.
Well girls, got to go get supper ready for my hard working FARMER BROWN HUBBY... LOL He's just coming in from the garden which is really producing well. So I need to go get in the kitchen. That is part of the reason that I have not been able to post. He keeps picking & I need to get it stored so we don't loose any of it.
We have been sharing alot of the veggies with friends & eating lots & lots of fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, yellow squash, zuchinni, green beans, Jackson Wonder Limas, okra just starting to make & corn almost ready to pick.
Debbie, can you please send me your zuchinni bread recipe or at least direct me to where it is on the board??? I really want to make some. Also plan to make Zuchinni Pizza soon.
Bye!

Hello all!!! Well, I’m late getting this post on again today. I can read your posts at work, but there’s something wrong with our dial up and so I just work on my post in a regular document. It’s funny because I’ll read something that I want to respond to right away. Then I realize I have to wait until I get home and I’m all disappointed.
Hey I have an idea for a general question that I’d like to hear answers from all of you. Here’s what I’ve been thinking about. I love being 100% on program. It’s been so long for me and it does feel good. But I am worried about when the temptations start getting harder to handle. (There will be days when chocolate refuses to be ignored!) So here’s my question: How do we keep up the excitement and enthusiasm of a perfect day or a perfect effort? How do we remain in that atmosphere of not even considering going off plan? I’m worried that in a couple of weeks, I’ll “let” myself have a nibble of this or a bite of that and then there goes everything. I guess I want your ideas on how we can keep our hineys on BOB’s wagon. Looking forward to your thoughts.
My parents arrive tomorrow around lunch. It will be good to visit with them. We saw them a couple of weeks ago at my niece's graduation, but didn't get in a good visit. We do much better with that when they are here with us. They will be here all weekend, but that shouldn't interfere with me getting on the board. They will be 80 this year, so we don't do a lot. My mom has a really bad knee so she doesn't like to go too far from home base.
TONI---I’ll attest for that Graeter’s ice cream that BKM spoke of. It’s really, truly the BEST ever. But I try not to go near those places. The bad thing is they are everywhere here in town. Yikes!!!
NANCE---I love drooling over decorating and gardening books. I have a bunch of them out right now because I’ve been planting annuals and I now am in the mood to paint. I think DH and I will start next weekend on our kitchen. That room really needs a major overhaul, but we can’t afford all that. So hopefully, some new paint on the walls and maybe a new floor and new light fixtures would do the trick. Uh-oh. Am I biting off more than I can chew?
JENN---I don’t know who was talking about thyroid stuff, but I had most 2/3 of my thyroid removed last year and I know how it feels when it’s not working right. After my surgery I gained a LOT of weight. And I was exhausted all the time. My doctor said my counts were not off the chart and she had definitely seen more imbalanced results. So she just put me on 50 mg of Levoxyl every morning. It has made a huge difference. But it does take a good 6 months for the medication to totally take effect. The kind of blood test I have to get is the TSH. I don’t know anything about the T4. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help! Good luck!!!
JRED---I’m with you. I want to stand up on the table top and tell everybody how great it is to eat this way. I’m just too chicken to do it.
KIMMYTK---We probably won’t go to a festival this weekend. My parents are coming in for the weekend and I have a plumbing job for Dad and DH. That will probably take most of the time. I had to laugh when you mentioned dhow crazy we are about festivals. I live in a three-parish neighborhood, so you can imagine how busy it gets around here! I was teasing about needing to lose weight before we met. Maybe we could meet in July. Perhaps we could go to JJ and do some shopping and visit while we browse. Does that sound like a good idea? Do you know if they sell agave out there? I need to get some. My weekends are pretty full. But like I said, I take Fridays off. You can even bring some of your kids. That wouldn’t bother me. I’m not a non-Mom who dislikes kids. LOL Just ask BKM . . . her daughter and I hit it off the second we met. But I think that’s because she’s such a wonderful outgoing person. BTW, we’re in the phone book.
COUNTRYM4H---You were hauling butt, girl!!! Way to go!!! I’m really impressed. I wish I could jog for longer than 100 steps. You did great!!!
MUSIC---Congrats on the 1.5 pounds. Awesome!!! What a nice way to start the day, right? Tell us more about that article. Did you mean that dairy helps or hinders?
BOB---So relieved to hear that at least you think you might be feeling better. Are you all napped out or do you feel like sleeping all the time? That’s mostly what I do when I’m sick . . . CRASH!!! You be careful driving your car with all those drugs in your head. Wouldn’t want you nodding off at the wheel.
MELF---Your pictures are GREAT!!!! I didn’t know that you met SEF. I love SEF and I’m so happy to have a face to put with that wonderful personality of hers. Although I have to admit, I was picturing her in my head in much the same way. And I must say that you are looking marvelous still. How’s the maintaining your weight going? How does it feel to be where you wanted to be for all that time? Did I see you tucking your shirts in in some of those pictures???? Good for you!!! That’s one thing I look forward to being able to do some day.
That’s it for me. I want you all to know that I absolutely love reading your posts. You all really lift my spirits and keep me focused. Thank you for that!!! Good night!

I just skimmed the article quickly, but it seems that dairy products help you lose fat! Can't remember all the scientific mumbo jumbo, but you need four servings a day.

Good Thursday Evening my Friends!!
Well, I'm happy to report that things are really looking up. I'm still nosebleed free and feeling better each day. I really want to thank all of you for listening to my whining! You know - I couldn't talk so I had to whine in some way - it just happened to be on the computer!! Thanks for all the prayers, well wishes and threats to come to my house and shove tampons in my nose (BOB)! I really appreciate everything - y'all are so wonderful!
COUNTRY: Try not to be too discouraged about the plateau you are on. Did you ever sit back and evaluate how you may have been eating when you were losing your best? Have you added a few carbs or whatever cause you are feeling better about yourself - so - in a way you kind of slack off? Just wondering - that's what I always do - the minute I start to feel better - I tend to cheat more - mind you - even though I'm still FAT! HAHA! Just a thought! By the way, I think a 10 minute mile is fabulous!!!
NANCE: Way to go - taking off those extra pounds you had put on - I'm very proud of you! I need to get my tush in gear now - I'm gonna try to catch up with you! I don't have any advice as far as the friend thing goes. I think she should be the one to apologize for TELLING you to do something. The last time I confronted a friend about a problem that I had with her and how she was treating me - she hung up on me and we never spoke again - that was over 3 years ago! I figured that if she can't handle being told in a decent way that she was hurting me terribly and she's gonna handle the situation in such a childish manner then she didn't deserve to be my friend! So, I never called her back! SO, you see, I'm not good in that type of situation!
DEB: I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better. It really worries me when you are ill like that. You are always such a bubbly person - so full of energy! I hope you continue to feel good my friend!!
SEF: You have got to be one of the busiest people I know! You and my dad are just alike! Can't sit back and relax - always working on a project! You go girl! That keeps you young!! I love your dolphin picture that MELF has posted - you are so talented. How bout we get together in mid - July - let's think of a date!
SERENE: Good for you on the scale purchase - I just hope you don't get obsessed like me. I'm on that thing 4 times a day - what for - I have no clue! But, it seems like every time I'm near it - I've got to strip down and hop on! HAHA!
QUIV: Way to go on the loss! You keep up the good work - you'll reach that goal in no time!
MERCY: I do eat peanuts a lot. I buy the mixed nuts or dry roasted kind. Whenever I get the urge in the afternoon for a snack I just grab a handful and a huge glass of water and it usually fixes me up!
BKM: I'm very happy to see you!! I'm glad your trip was wonderful - I know the feeling that you are experiencing right now - you need a vacation from your vacation!! I love going on vacation but some are just so BUSY that you need to rest a few days when you get home!
GRACIOUS: Looks like me and you are in the same boat - and it's sinking! We can get back on plan - WE CAN - WE CAN DO IT! Say that with me now! Next week - we will have successful weigh ins- how does that sound?!?
YELLOW: Glad to see you are moving in your downward motion on the scale again. How does it feel? I have been moving up!!! Good luck with the rest of the renovations!
GUMBO: I've got a visual of you savoring every bite of the pizza! HAHA! I can see you licking your fingers too! Way to go on the 10 pounds - that is awesome - you keep up the great work!
BOB: You get all the rest that you can get and you will be better in no time!! I'm sending you big hugs and kisses!!
FROG: Let me tell you….talk about I felt like a fruit cake on my first visit to speech. I'm going to the college here in town and I'm working with a girl who will be graduating this next semester in SLP. She is just precious - and I really like her. I'm her first voice patient. We were doing the yawning technique thing where you open your mouth real wide and phonate, etc. Well, I am just a nut bag you know and I just had the hardest time relaxing and I had the giggles so bad cause it looks so stupid! Well, I'm gonna do it and I've been practicing but I feel ridiculous! One thing that is good about going to the college is that it is free- so at least I'm not paying to feel ridiculous! I know that it will all work and be wonderful in the end but - you know - it's funny!
GOTTA: We were supposed to start the certification classes this past April and for some reason we didn't. I think that my husband still has strong hopes that one pregnancy will work! I'm hopeful too but I'm also realistic - after all - I have had 5 miscarriages. So, I think that I'm a little more ready to start the process than him - because I know how long it takes. My sister adopted a few years ago - and I saw a lot of what she went through. But, I don't want to push him into something he is not ready for. He totally wants to adopt if we can't have one of our own. But, he knows that I'm still willing to TRY one more time and he is waiting to see if that one time is successful. So, I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for you!
QUILTER: I totally understand what you are saying - you definitely didn't put it in a bad way! I've been too nice to myself for too long too! I think I may have to get his book.
JRED: Yeah - I know - I've got to get this voice ready for the next school year for all of those little cuties that I'm gonna have! I've got the high class this year so I know we are gonna have lots of fun!!!
MELF: Glad you arrived home safely! I'm sure that you had a wonderful time. We will get together this summer so that I can meet you! We'll probably be going to my grandmothers in Lafayette soon so we can have lunch in your area when we go! How does that sound? Loved the pictures - looks like you had a blast.
OK -Where are BEACH & GATOR?!?! Football season is coming closer and I need my SEC gals here with me!!! BOB - I think we need to put out an APB!
MUSIC: Sounds like you have been one busy chic too! Y'all need to slow down and relax a little. I think I can lose weight just reading about your schedule!! HAHA!
Ok everyone - see y'all tomorrow! Have a good evening!

Happy Friday morning. Getting ready to go do a little private SLP consultation today. Looking forward to this one as it is parent training session. Gonna attempt to teach a child's parents how to use some computer equipment that their child uses to communicate. Fun and easy money.
On a sadder note, I lost my aunt yesterday after a long battle with ovarian cancer. I struggled with whether or not to to go to the funeral, which is about a 8-9 hour drive one-way. Have decided that it's just too much to t ry to cram into a 3 day trip. I am finally recovering from all my going and doing since the end of April. I hope my cousins will understand. Plan on phoning in some flowers later this morning.
Still trying to get going with SLAH (Southern Lving at Home) in my area. I have had some success in my hometown, but don't have any bookings here. Hoping to contact a few ladies today who have expressed some interest. Lots of my friends want to have a party after the summer is over! Really need/want to have some now! I plan to have a Christmas Open House in October or so. There are many beautiful Holiday items in the fall catalog and a Christmas supplement comes out in August/Sept. I am going to the SLAH convention in July. It is in Orlando and I am driving with a friend/my sponsor. I will not have any "free" time, as this will be a very fast and very business trip. I am looking forward to gettting to see all the items in the catalog and hopefully get some business ideas for recruiting hostesses and consultants.
Got my new running shoes last evening. They feel so different than my last pair; switched brands in an effort to keep all my toe nails this fall! :D Ordered them from Road Runner Sports! LOVE that place! They got those puppies here in 2 days from California! And I can send them back in 60 days if I don't like them, no matter how worn or dirty, no questions asked!
Well, Dixie is whining at me to go out and I need to get in the shower. Hope y'all have a great day!
Peace,
FROG

Hi everyone!!
I thought I was being so good yesterday when I walked into the chinese restraunt and asked if any of the sauces had no sugar, they said they could make them without...so I ordered.....as I was waiting I remembered the cornstarch they add....well out came my order. DO you think there is alot of corn starch in the sauce?? Does anyone order chinese with no sugar no cs ?? How would that come out?? And would it be ok?
Other than that I'm doing pretty well.
Deb
Hope you are feeling better.
That sounds like the going rate for online orders for the edible image of that size. My edible image is only 7.5"x10". Hope it turns out good!!
Monet
Really nice cakes....love the castle and the fish!
Are there any legal canned baked beans??
Thanks!

Good morning everybody! Just wanted to do a quick check in and wish you all a wonderful day!
I've got a pretty busy morning ahead. Have already been to the grocery and back by 7:45. A personal best I think. Am trying to straighten up before Mom and Dad get here. They should arrive around lunch time. I need to get the clean sheets on their bed and give that room a quick vacuum. And then there's always the bathroom to tackle. Yuck! I hate that job.
It's a hot one here already. Don't know how you southern belles are surviving and it's still June. Oh well, lucky that we all just glow and don't sweat. LOL
MUSIC---Thanks for the confirmation on that. That brought a big smile to my face. Hope the study is right.
FRUIT---Glad to hear your nose is cooperating. You will feel so relieved once this is all behind you. Hang in there, friend! One thing I forgot to say regarding the Dr. Phil thing is that I think there are times when we aren't ready to move on something and then that would be the time when his words would seem harsh and possibly unkind. The thing for me is that I think I was ready. The frustration and self loathing had built up enough to the poing that I was ready to hear what he had to say. I think that's key with anything. If a person isn't ready or at the point of action, then something (no matter how great it could possibly be) won't do t hem a bit of good. I think you'd like his books. SM is great! I read it right before I go to sleep and then I think about it as I'm falling asleep.
DEB---Hope you had fun with your Mom. You didn't mention if it was fun . . . just long.
FROG---Sorry to hear about your aunt. Those long driving trips to funerals can be so hard. I've had to make the four hour trip back home twice in the past few years to say good-bye to very close relatives. And it was no fun. My thoughts are with you.
I'll check in later. Keep well, you all. Keep cool. And above all KEEP ON KEEPING ON.

Hello Everyone,
Only have a few minutes before I have to close down the laptop and send it with my husband (Mark). Here's a quick joke:
A plane carrying all PEPSI products crashed in a remote area of the mountains. All of the crew died except on pilot. He was able to survive 1 month before the rescue crew arrived.
One rescue worker was amazed at how the pilot was able to survive and began interviewing about his thirty days alone.
The rescue worker was even more curious when he discovered that the pilot had resorted to cannabilism.
"How were you able to eat them?"
Easy! I'd eat a leg and then drink a PEPSI.
OH! Then what?
I'd eat an arm and drink a PEPSI.
Oh my! Then the rescue worker viewed the scene once more and then asked the pilot on more question.
Why didn't you eat their things? (pointing to their privates)
OH NO......TNINGS GO BETTER WITH COKE!
Have a good day!

Sizzle may be an understatement for us in NTX today. I've got a bad feeling about August!
Hope you all have a great TGIF. I'm going to be pretty busy today. Have a Dr. appointment check-up on a place where he removed a mole 2 weeks ago. It's on my chest, but not so low as to make the removal embarrassing, but he said that area is hard to heal and has more scarring. I'm keeping it greased up with Bacitracin(?) but now the area where the bandaid sticks is red and itchy. Don't know what's worse, the possibility of a little scar or a big red area in front. He took a look at my arms and said "Oh you have a lot of sun damage, how'd you get that?" And I said, "Living. It's in my genes." Don't know how he expects a mid 40s, red headed, fair skinned woman NOT to have freckles all over her body!
Thanks for the well wishes for DD. She's better but was afraid to take off the bandages yesterday. She still wants to use the crutches to walk. Guess we'll do the removing today so she can get a shower. Has anybody ever seen the water pump they use now for prevention of swelling. It fits inside a small ice chest and we keep it filled with ice and water. It has two tubes that run up through this pad and is wrapped around her knee. It runs all the time, pumping cold water around her knee. It's neat. And I bet expensive. We are renting it from a medical supply and thank goodness for insurance. I'm about to find out how good our school policy is.
I gotta run now. There's a lot of things on my schedule for today: doctor, new tires for bubba's car, grocery shopping.
Catch y'all later this evening.

Just a quick post... Will be back later with more, but wanted to answer while I was thinking about this.
CHRIS: The amount of cornstarch used in sauces in Chinese restaurants is not that much. They may even use arrowroot powder instead of cornstarch. Either way, I don't think it will hurt to have that once in a while. If you were going to eat it every day, it might not be good, but once every couple weeks won't hurt. Without the cornstarch, the sauce would be too watery, and not thick at all. There should not be too much sauce anyway. If your dish is swimming in sauce, it is not done right. There is a bit of sugar in almost all Chinese dishes. It is used to balance the flavors. I would be willing to bet that most do not have more than 3 grams of sugar a serving tho. Of course sweet sauces, like Sweet and Sour, are different. It is a good idea to ask if a sauce is sweet before ordering. The biggest problem with Chinese places is that every chef has his or her own recipe and it is different every place you go. Generally, you are somewhat safe with things like Beef and Broccoli, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Cashew Chicken, and Mongolian Beef. Egg Foo Yung is a good choice too, but ask for the gravy on the side, and go easy on it. I often forgo the gravy and just use soy sauce. Hope that helps. If you have any other questions about Chinese food, let me know. I am not an expert, but I taught a Chinese cooking class for a while, so have familiarized myself with the cuisine a good bit.
Ok...time for breakfast!

Happy Friday!
Woke up with the blahs this morning, but not dragging quite as much. Will continue taking the potassium supplement along with my regular vitamins, to see if energy improves.
Didn't make it to Curves yesterday, and can't today, so will have to wait for the weekend. =(
It's pouring rain and major thunderstorms here today. I kind of like it, but it's not improving my mood much. :(
Ever have one of those days where you wonder "What's the use? Why am I even trying?" That cloud has been following me since I woke up.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Good morning everyone!
We have woke up to liquid sunshine today in our part of sunny Florida. It is pouring rain and supposed to do so all day. We hardly ever get the rain we need anymore, and then we need an Ark when it does rain. Go Figure!
I am so far behind in posting that I may never get caught up this week. I am getting ready to go to my family reunion in Georgia in the morning, but wanted to take time to post a quick funny for Friday. I will try to check in later and get caught up before leaving town.
The Italian Man
He calls the waiter over and asks for their most expensive bottle of Merlot to be sent to a most beautiful woman seated alone at another table, knowing that if she accepts it, she is his.
The waiter gets the bottle and quickly sends it over to the girl, saying "this is from the gentleman." She looks at the wine, and decides to send a note over to the man.
The note read, "For me to accept this bottle, you need to have a Mercedes in your garage, a million dollars in the bank and 7 inches in your pants."
The man, after reading the note, sends one of his own back to her and it read,"Just so you know, I happen to have a Ferrari Testarosa, a BMW 850iL, and a Mercedes 560SEL in my garage, plus I have over 20 million in the bank.
But, not even for a woman as beautiful as you, would I cut off 3 inches. Just send the bottle back!
;)
Hope everyone has something to smile about today!
Catch ya'll later.

Good Friday Morning Everyone:wave:
It's a dreary day down here. We've had rains every day and it really hasn't stopped raining much since yesterday. As soon as I put on my bra and start dressing to go out for my walk it started to rain again, so those plans for today are scratched. I doubt I will even give it another thought as the day wears on, I'm not good at getting in walks later in the day. I guess it's a good thing actually as yesterday my ankle was feeling sore, must of done something funky to it during my walk.
Mom and I had a full day yesterday-we shopped til we dropped! I think the best bargain of the day was the eggplant I bought at .29 cents a pound! Have never seen it that cheap. Now, what to make with it. Eli is going to make his eggplant dish for me, probably 2 pans of that so I can freeze some for later. I'm dying for some decent eggplant parmigiana and as it may not be good when I make it, it has to be lots better than what I had the other night at a rest. we went to (explained below). Bought some other stuff, of course-mostly food.
We tried an Italian rest the other day, not my choice mind you. It was awful. I ordered the eggplant parm, asked him if it was heavily breaded which he said it wasn't. Also asked him for steamed plain veggies instead of pasta, he tells me they have broccoli. He comes out with the plate with pasta on it, send it back. Takes 15 minutes for them to make veggies, they bring back some julienned mixed veggies swimming in butter:eek: I try the eggplant, it's all breading! They even had the nerve to serve 2 thin slices of eggplant as the entree, I tried scrapping away the breading, there's no eggplant inside-it must of dissappeared. I wasn't happy, sent it back and ordered the chicken cattiatori with veggies, CC is loaded with oil and even though there's not much, there's still butter on the veggies. Also, by the time they brought out my food, ELI had long finished his. I think I will continue to be a creature of habit and stick with the places I know I can't go to and happily eat-what a waste of $ at that place. I'm craving some good eggplant parm, and short of going to Orlando to Italianni's, I've got to come up with another solution.
Lastest on SB-doesn't look like the opening will be next week-so all that media stuff I sent was for naught and I doubt can be retracted at this time. What really sucks-the store will probably open while ELI is away in Lebanon, NOT good. We will know today for sure, they are suppose to have a walk through again today.
I sent everyone a link to a wonderful website filled to the brim with recipes galore. If you did NOT get an e-mail from me today either I do not have your e-mail address correct, you are not listed on the BIO BOARD, or you don't have your e-mail listed on the bio board. If you too want this link to the site, just e-mail me and I'll send it out to you.
ALSO, I sent a second e-mail regarding some new board ideas that Suzanne and I are coming up with, once again, if you did NOT receive an e-mail regarding this and want to, e-mail me with your info!!!
I better try and catch up with some of the posts before I get so far behind my butt's going to be dragging...
MELF, SEF, TRANQUIL, SERENE & HAPPY! What wonderful pictures of you all! MELF, thanks sooo much for posting those pictures for all of us to see, they are wonderful. I FINALLY get to see a picture of SEF!! WOO HOO!!!! I hope everyone on the board takes the time to view all the wonderful pics MELF has so graciously posted to share with us!!!
MELF, looks like you had a great time visiting the gals. I wish I could of been on your list of people to see, hopefully next time! I'm so happy you had this opportunity and I know in meeting so many of the gals myself what a great time you must of had. I look forward to meeting SEF, TRANQUIL & SERENE in the near future and seeing HAPPY once again as well. Thanks again for taking such great pictures and sharing them with the board.
TRANQUIL, I swear, the more pictures I see of you and SERENE, you are looking more like sisters! I may not be able to tell you two apart when we get to meet. I will e-mail you the other quiche recipes-if you don't get them in a timely matter, let me know, I tend to forget things sometimes, blame it on the age!!!
SEF, FINALLY, I see that face! Now when I talk to you on the phone or address you on the board, I can easily think of that kind hearted face that I saw posted! Okay, I know there's a little devil under that exterior, but there's one in all of us. Looks like a great piece you were working on in the picture. I loved finally having the opportunity of putting your face and name together!!!! Now when you moan and groan (and bi*ch) I can easily appreciate where it's coming from.
JACKK, taco ring? Sounds interesting, can you give me the low-down? Did you have fun at bunco? I wish I could learn to play, I don't know anyone down here that plays it.
SERENE, loved seeing the pics of you, TRANQUIL and MELF together! So, you broke down and bought a metal monster, eh? What kind did you get? I hope your scale has a nice temperment. That's wonderful that it got off to a good start and weighed you 2lbs less-seems it's a good week for you and the new scale. I hope you both have a nice long and loving "relationship" ;) Enjoy your reunion in GA! Have a safe trip!! Oh, loved the FF!!!
MERCY, CONGRATS! 2lbs down on the scale is wonderful. I do eat some nuts from time-to-time, but usually it's when I need to up my protein and fat as so little is so high in both those AND calories. For me, it's hard just to have a few, so usually if I want something I'll have some pb. Personally, I do not like Chinese food. I do like Thai, but rarely go for that (haven't had any since I started SB). If you are able to get your Chinese rest. to do a dish the way for it to be SB LEGAL then I think it's okay. I know at the Thai rest. they will accomodate me. I do believe that most Chinse dishes use not only MSG, but cornstarch to thicken the sauces. I guess it really depends on what you get as well as knowing to forego the eggrolls, fried noodles, fortune cookie, etc. I think journaling is a wonderful idea myself, it can definitely be an eye-openener!!!
BIGK, glad to have you back safe and sound. I know QUILTER had a wonderful time meeting you as well and I'm sure your visit was one of the reasons she's back on the board with us-no one wants to miss out from all this friendship we have on the board! Can't wait to see the pics you took!
GRACIOUS, you definitely figured out a better word than I did-flylarva! Was that your idea or has it been coined on flylady? If not, you definitely have to write her and coin that phrase because you had me laughing! Yes, I guess I'm flylarva, or maybe flysperm? I delete many of her e-mails except for the ones that seem to be unusual and not the usual daily ones. I may try to put some of that info into gear today, that is, if I can get off the computer!!
ROSE, glad to hear things are going well. I'm hoping to get up there in August, after the kids get out of summer school. Nothing concrete, but I'll surely let you know if the plans materialize and I do get up there so we can meet. My Mom will be looking for new carpeting for their mountain house as well-if you come across any great bargain places, please let me know so I can pass it along:) My GP's are leaving to go up today and my parents are going up sometime after the 4th of July.
MONET, Publix will not do a company logo on a cake, ELI's asked before and nothing copyright are they willing to do:( I refuse to go to a Chinese buffet to eat. Not only because I don't like Chinese, but I don't do well at buffets. To me, it's like a free-for-all and not having the option of requesting the food as I like it to be void of certain things is not for me.
GUMBO, I think the guy has a job in computers that allows him to travel and make up his own schedule. I doubt now he'll be able to come, things are up in the air at this time and it doesn't look like next week is a go. Thanks for the Friday Funny!
BOB, hope you are feeling better. Will e-mail you soon! How's Ann doing? Tell her I said hello. And Skeeter, you haven't mentioned your main-man lately!
FROG, glad to see you back with us, you've been missed girlfriend. I think about you often, esp. every time I see something with a frog. Sorry to hear about your Aunt, my condolences to you and your family. Have you gotten your info for the WDW Marathon yet? The gal who got me in told me i'd get mine in a few weeks and it's been over a month-please let me know. Do you know what date you will come down before the marathon? What brand of sneaks did you get? I think I'm due for a new pair.
GOTTA, glad to see you back, wow, it's been a long time! Can't imagine my life now without a computer-you must of been having kanipshens without it!
QUILTER, loved our little chat this morning;) Have you tried the tuna in the pouches? It's great and a wonderful thing to take and keep in your car for emergencies. Seriously, if you have a plastic fork (I carry plastic cutlery in my car all the time) a packet of mayo (get some from BK or the like) and some crackers in a baggie, you will NEVER be without something nutritious to eat in an emergency! Same goes with some PB, or some of those Laughing Cow cheese wedges, pop top cans of fruit in juice is another great thing. Just some thoughts as you mentioned the tuna, not saying you need these things, I just went on and on. WW flour should say STONE GROUND. As for your question about keeping motivated and staying OP, just what I said to you this morning-remember how good you feel being 100% OP and then think about each time you've eaten off plan and how you really feel at the time and afterwards and where it's taken you. THINK good and hard before you decide to eat something off plan and you may think twice about eating it!;)
FRUIT, glad to hear you are doing better! Are you still silent or is whispering going on? Don't worry about me girlfriend, I'm a rock, I'll be fine!!!
COUNTRY, wow, you made some good time girl! 10 minutes is wonderful for a mile! I think your time was awesome!
KIMMY, with 5 kids I'd think that was exercise enough to keep after them all. I know my sister has her hands full with 5. BUT, it's great to get out there and exercise with time alone for yourself, but I know it's hard. I have to say, not only does the exercise help me keep the weight down/off, but it give me such a natural high and I don't feel good when I don't get in my walk, like today. Makes me eat more when I don't get it in-not good. Just try to make sure you are eating enough, without journaling, it's a guesstimate.
NANCE, WHEW! What great news to hear you're back down to your low. PLEASE promise me that you will not look back, but forward! I am soo proud of you girl!!! Keep up the great work Nance! As for the gal at work, if this is how she "gets her way" I wouldn't give in. If you know you were right for saying no, you have NOTHING to apologize about. Check out http://www.flylady.net
JRED, glad to hear DD is feeling better. Crossing my fingers for you to get that elementary instructional technologists position. When will you get a yay or a nay on it??
JENN, hope you are feeling more energetic, you know I can surely sympathize with you on having those feelings! Can't imagine the caffein didn't wake you up. I had a cup last week, late in the evening and I didn't sleep all night-actually, 2 nights in a row I didn't sleep and my heart was beating a mile a minute!
CHRIS, I think HEINZ makes a SF baked bean, but it's only availble in the UK, but BOB says she's seen them. I have a recipe on the board for baked beans using agave though. Out of curiosity, what would you charge for an image on the cake that size? Not sure of the amount of corn starch they use in dishes-maybe do a search on google for a certain Chinese dish just to see, you may be surprised.
TONI, thanks again for the nice words in the e-mail-you always know how to make me smile:D
Here it is, almost 1pm and I"m still in my nightie and haven't done a flippin thing! Serves me right for getting so behind. Still raining here-probably stay in and try to clean off the dining room table, at least the stuff that's mine, don't touch ELI's-it's a big table, and it's going to take me some time-it's one of my many catch-alls for stuff!
I'll check in later
Have a great weekend!

Here's my contribution to the Friday Funnies>>>
The Blonde and The Jaguar
A young blonde stock broker was bored with her BMW. It lacked individuality, and besides that, every ***** in the office had one. She fancied something a bit more individual, "Perhaps an MG convertible," she mused to herself.
That week, she visited her local car dealer and spied a beautiful Jaguar XK140 convertible. It was wonderfully restored and she fell in love with its gorgeous red paintwork. An empty check stub later and off she was driving down the leafy country lanes enjoying her beautiful new car.
Her long blonde hair was flowing in the wind, music blaring from the radio, what could go wrong?
With that, there was a jerking from the engine and the car slowly coasted to a stop. She got out and lifted the hood and concluded, after a few minutes realized that she didn't have a clue.
Luckily, she had her mobile phone with her and a quick phone call to Triple A and a short wait saw a bright shiny yellow van pull up behind her.
"That's a lovely car" says the AAA man "What seems to be the problem?"
"Well, it just conked out I'm afraid."
"Let me have a look," he said.
He set to work and ten minutes later the engine was purring like a cat again.
quot;Oh goody!" she said, "What was the matter?"
"Simple really, just sh*t in the carburetor" he replied.
Looking shocked she asked, "Oh, OK. How many times a week do I have to do that?

HiedieHo All!!
My sink is shining, I've vacuumed, dusted, made the bed, etc. I've had a shower and just have to put my face on and get dressed to go out with the Young At Heart from church. We are going to an Italian restaurant. They better have salads!!!
Last night I finished the bee hive and bees and flowers around it. Now starting on the duck swimming in his wooden tub! Tomorrow I am going to frame the dolphins.
So many posts. Will try to catch up.
JACKK: The things we learn we must do to stay OP. Taking along a ww pita was a wise choice. I haven't read a lot of articles on SB, you'd think around here it would be all over the papers, etc, but like you I know what it does for me. Nice that your friend was so considerate with the food.
SERENE: I'm sure you would have made the papers weighing yourself in the parking lot! "Woman obsessing about weight runs amok with scale!"
MOMMA: Welcome back. Missed you! Never heard of WW Oyster Crackers. I always liked regular ones. Since reading your post I looked in our stores and they are not there.
YELLOW: Glad you are on the way down again.
BOB: Hope you are feeling better. You might get better faster if you rested more. Going to work just because you're not contagious to others doesn't mean you're helping yourself any.
QUILT: My DD and friends don't know they will have to go to food stores while I visit in the fall. One thing I will definitely llok for are those pretzels! There's nothing like a coat of paint to give the feeling of newness to a room. You will have fun doing it even though it is work. Thanx for the kind words.
MELF: Welcome back. Pictures are great. I would like to meet Missy. Maybe when Fruit is better we can all get together. It would be nice to follow up on a new friendship. By the way, your fresh from the garden veggies were soooo good!
FRUIT: You were not whining just telling us what was going on with you! Just told Melf that I'd like to get together with you. We're not THAT far apart! July sounds good.
COUNTRY: I should toss my scale too. It still sits in the bathroom, maybe I think it will heal itself!
MONET: Okay druggie! Has your high worn off yet? I've had that happen and then there is a terrible hangover feeling when you come down. To me the high is not worth it, don't see whty true users think it is! By the way, I wanted to smell the roses! So real looking. I hear you, it is often easier to be good in front of others, but we know how we raid the frideg when alone! OF COURSE, I DON'T!!! But I have heard of people that do!
NANCE: The best way to make your point known to someone who is acting childish is to ignore them. If you beg that feeds their need for power over you. She should realize that in trying to punish someone we often punsih ourselves. I have put the recipe on the Board a couple of times but have not put it on the recipe board, will do that.
JRED: Hope your DD is recuperating okay. I am ashamed to say that other the NH and Sunday church, I have stayed home most all week. I just need to recharge at times. Pacing myself is not one of my attributes! Hope your visit to DR. goes well. Sounds like you have developed an allergy to the tape. I break out under tape when I use it, the break out can be worse than the wound I was trying to protect.
MUSIC: I loved the piecing of a quilt but the quilting drove me nuts. I have a sampler quilt that I made umpteen years ago. It's on the fram and I started to quilt and couoldn't stand it. Maybe someday I'll have it done professionally. I admire that you can be so creative.
DEB: I'm very good at monaing and *****ing! It's wonderful what make-up will do!
Okay gotta go, Need to put my face on!!!
Take care, shirley

Hi All,
No time to post or read, just wanted to get some of the posts I made early today posted.
Gracious, Have a great weekend and vacation.
Mercy, Hve a nice anniversary party, Just stay away from the cake.
Music, When I used to go to WW, I think they always said the milk puts the elasticity back into your skin. Keeps your skin from getting baggy. I'm off to buy a cow!
Bob, don't over do. Yuor mountain trip sounds wonderful. So relaxing.
Melf, loved the pics. Glad your DS & BIL had a good time and you too. Your garden sounds yummy!
Quilter, I don't know how to stay motivated. I set my goal and have not lo9oked back. I can't say I have been 100OP but pretty close. I have never eaten anything with sugar or potatoes. My only cheat is something like fried fish and then I count it as a carb. I really want to lose this weight and I'm not going to let anything stop me. I don't even consider eating anything I'm not supposed to. I think something has possessed by body and mind. I hope it stays around awhile longer.
Fruit, Glad you are nose bleed free. Just don't overdo. Get your spech therapist to take some pictures of you doing your yawning exercies. We could use a good laugh. LOL
Frog, Sorry about your aunt. That is a long trip. I'm sure your cousins will understand. I wish we could shop at yur SL@H here on board. Can you host "board party"
Jred, Sounds like you have a busy day ahead. Have a great weekend. That water pumps sound like a good idea. Probably very expensive.
Jenn, Hope that cloud passes on by you soon. Think of all your blessings and your upcoming wedding. That should help. Feel better soon.
Serene, Have fun on yur trip to Ga.
Deb, Sad about the SB opening and all.
To everyoneone else, Hi, and
Have a great weekend all. See ya monday.

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!! :dizzy:
BOB ALERT!!!!
Had to go back to the EYE DR this afternoon. My eye was so irritated and burning...the antibiotic that the Medical Dr gave me to coat the lid with wasn't helping. Dr Sloan gave me an antibiotic to squirt a 1/4 inch thread under the eyeball in the red area.
It helped almost immediately. It's quite a bit stronger than the
bactroban ointment. The only downfall???? It coats my eyeball and I can't see until it melts! BUT it's worth the wait! She also found a cluster of EYELASHES waaaaaaay back in the corner. She brought out this really LONG q-tip and proceeded to remove them. She said she didn't think they were causing the irritation, but they couldn't feel good...SO I have a greasy eyeball, but the pain is down a lot :)
MISSY....GO ON....ADMIT IT....IT WAS THOSE TAMPONS THAT CURED YOUR NOSE  No thanks needed...glad to shove em up there :s:
Glad you're feeling better..You can't stay in all summer...hurry up and get out there!!
I know HOW HARD it is for YOU NOT TO TALK!!! So you just keep on clicking....I'm listening even if Deb isn't
KIM...Jay is growing like a weed now that he's oof the boob and on the bottle!!! He just wasn't getting satisfied!
I've never tried those LAUGHING COW WEDGES...have you? I find them quite expensive down here...Used to get them at KROGER at home, but we all know that
BOB doesn't have a KROGER down here!!!!
OH MISSY>>>>> BEACH FAN hasn't been on the board in over a year...she used to check in, but we haven't heard hide nor hair from her!!
JACKIE...I'm staying in all weekend...I'll only be going out to stock up on this weekend's MOVIE PICKS ...WOuld have done it after work, but it's pouring the rain down here and I needed to get home and get the flowers out in the wet!!!
Sorry I didn't reach everyone...I'm going to eat a bite and then crawl up in the bed to recline!!
EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!

Well I am going to do my best to catch up. With the new computer system and now having to catch up on work, I have not had much time to do anything but work. I finished my last day of Personal Training today – and next week I will be on my own, I am little intimidated, but I am going to do my best and get it done on my own!
Monet – Where in Southern Illinois are you going, that is where I just got back from when I picked up DS – we were in Centralia. I miss the weather up there!!!
Jack – K – I love Bunco, but have not played in so long. I used to every Thursday night – that was sweet of your friend to think of you with your woe!
BOB – Glad to hear the meds are working and you are feeling better!
Melf – Glad to see you are back from vacation and had a wonderful time – thank you for the pictures!!! I too enjoyed our visit a lot!!! Hope we can meet up again! By the way, I have enjoyed my cd a lot!!!
Quilter – I think of it this way, I have had many years of eating whatever I wanted, and look where it got me! So, am I being denied, No, I am being healthy and wise…. I don’t want chocolate because I know that because of it I have a long road ahead of me to wellness….and it is not worth the temptation …. To ruin all the hard work I am putting into getting myself healthy.
Fruit – that is wonderful that you are doing better and no nose bleeds!!! I just think the threat of tampons up the nose is too funny!
Frog – Sorry to hear of your loss
Gumbo – Cute Pepsi vs. Coke joke….
Jred – That is too funny about the doctor asking how you got all those freckles!
Jenn – Have you chased your blues away? Working out chases mine away!
Serene – Have lots of fun at your family reunion this weekend – and by the way, STAY AWAY from the BAD STUFF!!!!
Deb – That is funny that you think Serene and I look like sisters! I guess we hang around each other so much, we have started looking like each other – hahaha… we need to make plans to make a trip down to your neck of the woods! Sorry about your Italian restaurant fiasco – yuch! Sounded awful for sure!
Sef – Wow you have such a wonderful talent with your needlepoint – I loved the photo of you and your needlepoint!
Well all, I am not happy with my scale! I am not happy with ME! For some reason, I guess it is midcycle time, I am retaining water badly and the scale is going up rather than down…. So, today I really worked out a lot harder – sweating like a piggy – and I ate today – grapes, salad for lunch with smoked turkey, a slice of smoked cheddar cheese, and a greek salad for dinner…of course, the greek salad would be salty with the olives and feta cheese – so I did not put too much on…. I am hoping the scale will be nicer to me by WIW!!! I am really looking forward to another good weigh in! By the way, I am developing muscles!! AHHHHH!!!! The fat is still there, but I have muscles – so I feel like I am getting bigger rather than smaller! Oh well, perseverance – the fat ought to go soon….
Take care, Sabrina

Hi Everyone
TGIF!!!! I've had a very busy week and haven't had time to do more than skim the posts. Have been working most days or evenings this week as well as going to badminton a couple of times and lawn bowling once. Tuesday I went to visit Susanne (Zanne) to pick up some more agave that her mil had kindly bought for me. We had quite a chat and the time just flew by. Susanne told me about a store that sells household goods at discount prices and I went and bought a Hamilton Beach Foreman type grill. I've only used it twice so far with good results. I think I will be using it often. It is so easy and cuts down on dishes too. I also found some mini baking pans that I had been looking for. I would like to try making just half of the cheesecake recipe - as I am usually the only one eating it this will cut down on the gorging. :). I didn't check in for WIW as the scale wasn't too kind to me. Both Tuesday and Thursday was a little better though. I did go out Tuesday and buy a new pair of jeans one size smaller than what I had been wearing. They are a little snug but they will loosen up with wear. I was doing a happy dance in the changing room - hope they didn't have a camera in there.
Deb - Thanks for the e-mails. I will be off to check the other 3FC sites when I have finished here and will get back to you soon. Sounds like a good idea to have separate SB recipe boards.
Fruit - Glad to hear that you are getting better and no more nose bleeds.
Melf - I loved the pics. Glad you enjoyed your holiday.
I am off for the weekend at least so hopefully I can keep up with the posts for the next few days.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Marie.

My younger daughter is off at Atlanta Fest all day and most of the night, so hubby and I headed out for dinner. We found a great little Mediterranean ( did I spell that right?) restaurant pretty close to home. I got a Kufti kebab, and he got a combo with all kinds of stuff...baba ganuoush, hummus, grape leaves, a little meat pie, and kibbe. Mine came with white pita, which the menu did not say. I thought it would be without any wrap. Naughty me ate it anyway. We even ate some semolina cake for dessert, but I gave some of mine to him. Next time we go out, we are going to try a Lebanese restaurant he found near his office.
Stopped by a bookstore and picked up the SB shopping guide. Nice little reference book. Nothing new, but I will probably loan it to friends trying to get started now that I have read through it.
TRANQUIL: We are going to a wedding in Edwardsville. Not sure where that is in relation to Centralia. I am from the Chicago area, so I know these town names, but can't remember where they are on the map! :o Do you know where it is? It is near Troy too, and there is a national arm wrestling championship there the weekend of the wedding, which is complicating lodging for all the out of town guests!
BOB: Publix will special order stuff for you, if you want those cheese wedges.
DEB: Have you asked at more than one Publix about that logo? That is not right! If it is YOUR company logo, you have the right to ask for it on a cake! We did it all the time up here! How I wish I was closer. I could copy it free hand for you. When is the opening? Maybe I need to plan a trip to south Florida. :s: An alternative is to go up the food chain so to speak. Ask for the regional bakery managers name, and call them and complain. If he doesn't help, ask for HIS supervisor. If you have to go all the way up to Mr. Jenkins himself, oh well! There is NOTHING illegal about Eli wanting to use a SB logo on a cake for the opening of a SB store! As for Chinese buffets...well, they are hard to manage legally. You are lucky that you don't like Chinese that much. My whole family loves Chinese food, and for many years we ate home cooked Chinese food at least four times a week. It is the one thing that has been hard to give up.
SEF: I have not crashed yet. I won't either. Not until I go off the stuff for a week in about a month. I have to cycle on and off. I am avoiding caffiene tho..thought that would be wise. The week I am off the stuff, all I want to do is sleep. Illegal drugs always scared me. Too much can go wrong. I never understood why someone would want to risk it just to feel happy drunk. Glad you liked the roses. They were a passion for a while, but I have neglected them this year because of the wedding. I did ok last night...I passed on the pie, and drank water. I know they thought I was totally weird. They offered wine, which I can't have while taking one of my meds, and the pie which was definitely not legal on SB, so I passed on that too. They barely talked to me, which was ok. I felt very self concious of everything I said tho. I was very glad to leave. I hate knowing someone does not like me, and not knowing why. It was so nice to climb into the car with my husband, who loves me so totally, and feel all better, and secure.
SERENE: Where in Georgia are you going? Anywhere near Atlanta?
It sure is late...time to go to bed. Sweet dreams to all, and forgive me if I did not post to you directly. I will try and get everyone tomorrow.
 Nighty night!

Oh my gosh I missed the whole day yesterday. Everytime I got started something would happen and I'd have to quit in the middle of it. And I do hate to be so far behind. So guess I'll try to catch up now... See if this works..
Monet- You're making me hungry for chinese food!!!! Pass the Cashew chicken please..
Serene-Hello and hope you have a good time at the reunion..
Debilli- Thats awful your dinner out was such a flop. I just hate that and it is such a waste of money. And leaves you so unsatified. Haven't got to go to the recipe link yet but will soon. OOO I love to look at recipes and try new ones out. Gee you've been a busy bee!!!
Sef- It sure feels good when you get all your stuff done in the morning huh.. I just hate to get dressed in the morning. I'm more the kind that likes to curl up in my jammies on the couch to have coffee. But I've found I'm liking this new way.... What are you making with the bee hives etc. Did I miss a post somewhere.
Jack-K- Hope you have a great week-end...
Bob- Sorry the eye is taking so long to heal. But good thing you got some new grease... Hope you keep getting better and better...
Tranquil- Oh you can do this new exercise program.... Think how proud you'll be doing it on your own.... All this work out stuff will come together.. Hope the water comes off soon. I know thats miserable..
Rosealie- I have a foreman grill and love it. I need a bigger size but I've used mine lots for everything... Lucky you with the agave. I wonder if the cheesecake would freeze good. I have the same problem here. Since I'm the only one eating it.. Congradulations on the new size of jeans. That should be real inspiration!
Well time to go for now.. Hope I'm a little caught up.....LOL

Hi Everyone,
I'm off to the beach.....I only hope I can survive the boardwalk!!!
This is going to be extremely hard!! Not sure if I can do it..I'll let you all know Monday.
Deb
The printer I have for the edible image only holds a 8x11 sheet.
The acutal size of the edible image is 7.5x10. I know they charge $8.00 at the stores for that. I looked online and $19.00 is the going rate for the 10x16. The ink cartridges are really expensive, the sheets only cost $2.00.
If you don't need a really big image, I could do some 7.5x10's for you. I would need you to email me the images and approx. how big you want them. I don't have a scanner. I have an empty mylar bag that the sheets came in. I just wonder what method these places ship, I know regular mail gets thrown all over the place.
Let me know, the main thing is shipping.....I'll be back monday..if the opening gets pushed back I'm sure I could get them to you in time.
Gotta go pack....Have a great weekend!!

HiedieHo All!!
I missed Friday Funnies here are a couple.
Euro-English
The European Union commissioners have announced that agreement has been reached to adopt English as the preferred language for European communications, rather than German, which was the other possibility.*
As part of the negotiations, the British government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a five-year phased plan for what will be known as EuroEnglish (Euro for short).
In the first year, "s" will be used instead of the soft "c." Sertainly, sivil servants will resieve this news with joy. Also, the hard "c" will be replaced with "k". Not only will this klear up konfusion, but typewriters kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced by "f". This will make words like "fotograf" 20 per sent shorter!
In the third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.* Governments will enkorage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of silent "e"s in the
languag is disgrasful, and they would go.
By the fourth year, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" by "z" and "w" by " v".
During ze fifz year, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou", and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters.
Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst place....

Every morning, Bill Clinton took a jog near his new home in
Chappaqua.*
On each run, he happened to jog past a hooker standing on the same street corner, day after day.* Apprehensive, he would brace himself as he approached her for what was (most certainly) about to follow.
"Fifty dollars!" she would shout from the curb. "No. Five dollars!" fired back Clinton. This ritual between the ex-president and the hooker continued for several days.
Each time he ran past: She'd holler,"Fifty dollars" He'd yell back, "Five dollars!"
One day, Hillary decided that she wanted to accompany her husband on his jog. As the jogging couple neared the now infamous street corner, Bill suddenly* realized the "pro" would bark her $50 offer for* all to hear (including Hillary) and he would have to come up with a ! ! damn good explanation for* his wife, the junior Senator. As* they jogged into the turn that would take them past her, Bill was overcome with anxiety on how to handle the situation.
Sure enough, there she was -- standing where she* always did. Bill tried to evade the streetwalker's eyes as she looked up at the jogging executives.
Then from the sidewalk, she yelled to Bill: "See* what you get for five bucks?"
Hillbilly First Aid
Two Kentuckians were having the blue plate special at their favorite watering hole, when they heard this awful choking sound. They turned around to see a lady, a few bar stools down, turning blue from wolfing down a possum burger too fast.
The first hillbilly said to the other, "Think we otta' help?"
"I reckon", said the second.
The First hillbilly got up and walked over to the lady and*asked "Kin yew* breathe?"
She shook her head no." Kin yew speak?" he asked.
She again shook* her head no.
With that he helped her to her feet, lifted up her skirt and licked her on* the butt. She was so shocked, she gasped and* coughed up the obstruction and began to breathe, with great relief.
The first hillbilly turned back to his friend and said, "Funny how that there Hind Lick Maneuver works ever' time."
The Sex of Flies
A woman walked into the kitchen to find her husband stalking around with a fly swatter.* "What are you doing?" she asked.
"Hunting Flies," he responded.
"Oh! Killing any?" she asked.
"Yep, 3 males, 2 Females," he replied.
Intrigued, she asked, "How can you tell?"
He responded, "3 were on a beer can, 2 were on the phone."

HiedieHo All!!
I had such a nice time last night and was able to stay totally OP! We went to an Italian restaurant. The ONLY thing on the menu that was legal was Speckled Trout. Only they were out of trout and had red fish as a replacement. Fine with me, I love fish period. So I had a salad, green beans and broiled fish. No one got dessert so there was no temptation there! After leaving the restaurant we went to Betty's house and had coffee and cookies (not me!) and sat around and chit-chatted. Nice evening.
I can't believe it! Because I need the support for my back I wear a one piece body briefer. The ones I have are 50F. I put them in the drier to shrink them and that was good. They are really getting ragged now they are so old. Like a lot of us I have clothes tucked away that are too small but you say "Someday.........". Guess what!?! SOMEDAY HAS ARROVE! I had two brand new briefers in the drawer and thought I'd try one on this morning to judge if I could fit into a 48 or if I really need a 50 cause the ones I've been wearing are so old and stretched out. Well!! The new ones are 46 D. I thought it would be a struggle to get one, but what to my wondering tugs happened it went on okay! I think the cup is a smidge to small but it will do, at $40 a pop for a briefer I'll go with the smidge!! AND...............I am able to breathe in it! Does life get better than this?!?
BOB: What are we going to do with you? You are supposed to be getting better, remembeer? Now stop fooling around and get with the program!!
TRANQUIL: You are so determined you will be able to exercise on your own I'm sure! I never heard of Bunco until I moved here and it seems to be all the rage here, that and bridge. Sorry, there was a miscommunication. I'm working on counted cross stitch not needlepoint, although I have done that in the past.
ROSALIE: Isn't it great that you can get something in a smaller size? It is such a boost to our morale! The cheesecake freezes well so to keep from gorging freeze portions of it, that way you wouldn't have to bake twice as you would doing a half recipe.
MONET: What an uncomfortable evening you had. I guess you will have to get used to it if they are now part of the family (you did say they were your DD's in-laws didn't you?) It is not easy being civil to uncivil people. At least you showed that you have the mettle to stick to your guns and ate only what you should and could. You came out the victor. Isn't it nice to know you are loved! Cashew Chicken, yum!
TONI: Habitat For Humanity (I'm their recording secretary) has an annual "Bird House Auction". They ask for donations of crafts and all sorts of the usual things to be donated to it. I am doing a picture that has different animals and their habitats, bee-beehive, duck swimming in wooden tub, rabbit in hutch, chicken and chick going into coop, bird-bird house and the motto "There's No Place Like Home"along the bottom.. I'm debating whether to eliminate part of the extra design and put in Habitat For Humanity at the top My DIL suggested putting in small letters at the very bottom, "In Sopport of Habitat For Humanity". This is my first year in the organization, I think I will ask someone on the Board if they think it would sell with the HFH on it. They would know from previous auctions. I know, more information than you wanted but I believe in volunteerism so carry my soapbox with me and I love stitching.
I think I caught up.
Someone asked me to post shrimp recipe, I am going to recipe board now and do it.
Take care all, Shirley

Good Saturday Morning everyone
I'm getting a slow start to-day. After having a short snooze yesterday evening and being awake most of the night I ended up sleeping in late. Wasn't even hungry this morning but decided I had better eat something before heading out to do some shopping. So I had breakfast of Multigrain Rye bread with a little cheese and fruit spread at 12 noon. At this rate I will probably be eating supper very late this evening. Whatever time I have my first meal of the day I know I still have to fit in three meals somehow. :).
Toni48 - I did read somewhere that you can freeze cheesecake - just make sure it is cooled completely before putting it in the freezer. I may try it next time I make it, maybe sometime this weekend.
Sef - Loved your funnies, particularly the Hillbilly one. Have sent it to friends already. Thanks for the info on the cheesecake. Maybe I will make the whole recipe but still put it in the small individual pans to see how they turn out. Yes, smaller sizes give you a wonderful feeling. Congrats to you too for fitting in the smaller body briefer.
Monet - Sorry to hear of the problems with your inlaws. It must be very uncormfortable knowing you are not liked. Hopefully you won't have to get together too often.
Bye for now.
Marie.

Hi Everyone,
I am excited and even though it is a baby step, I want everyone to know that I am still on a downward trend. I have started recording what I am eating and I have cut out (yes, out) the sugar free candy. I wonder if it causes a stall. I even got to have a glass of red wine and continue to lose weight. (I will watch the quantity on that, for sure.)
Gumbo: Congrats on being ten pounds down. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Right now I especially need them because I am driving myself and my poor husband crazy trying to decide on the carpet color. I understand that in a larger piece it gets lighter, right?
Quilter: I need to change the information because I am in Western North Carolina right now. However, I am probably looking at the product (Oat Bran Pretzels) and just can’t see it.
Monet: I, too, am a Birkenstock girl. I have been a fan ever since the foot doctor said for me to not even think of stepping out of bed without putting my feet into them.
Nance: Yeah! Yeah! For the new low. It is so rewarding to be good and it pay off.
Jred: Yes, I am lucky to be in a cooler area. If you are working out, then you are doing better than me. I need to at least walk more. I always find something else to interest me more. My daughter will be here July 6th and she said that we will be working out!
Toni: I am hoping that the chickory that Sef mentioned works out for an Agave substitute. Maybe the agave people will find that they are not the only game in town if they have some competition. The house straightened and dinner on….life is good. I am still working on deciding on carpet colors and now paint. I am hoping to have a decision made by Monday so I don’t make myself crazy. I am tired of thinking about it! That must mean a decision is close.
Fruit: I am glad that you are feeling better. I certainly agree with your advice to Country to look at the way you ate when you were losing weight the best and compare that with what is being done now. I did that recently and it has helped guide me toward losing again. Yeah!
Deb: I wish we would get some rain here in NC. We are way behind and I really don’t like the idea of living in a dry forest! Where did you find eggplant for 29 cents a pound? I will need to buy some until the ones I planted start producing. Of course, right off the vine is the very best. I use the eggplant parm recipe from SB for Kids. I use my homemade tomato sauce and it is wonderful. I understand what you mean about ordering in new places. Sometimes they do not have a clue. I tell them I want a salad dressing with no sugar and they recommend honey mustard. I don’t have any ideas for bargains on the carpet. If I can just decide on a color, I will be very happy. Now, I will be estatic if I get to see you in August. That would be great fun! I found a ME cookbook at the library that looks good. It is called “A Book of Middle Eastern Food” by Claudia Roden. Have you heard of it?
I am off to do some housework. Hope the weekend is going well for everyone.

I am baking a Brocolli Cheddar Crustless Quiche at the moment, my house is clean and would make Flylady proud, and it is so awfully wet and miserable outside, we are stuck in! Flooding in some areas of the city, so I am not venturing out except to the grocery store a few blocks away.
Sef - Thanks for the encouragement - and you still have a lot of talent with your counted cross stitch! I tried learning, did a few little simple projects, but there is some coordination needed that I don't have. Your Italian dinner sounded scrumptious!
Yellow - Good for you getting off the sf candy and going downwards on weight! yeah!!!!
Rosalie - that sounds like a very yummy European breakfast :)
Toni - Thanks too for the encouragement!!!
Monet - Serene is headed to Douglas, GA for her reunion, and she mentioned that the next time she drives up to see her dad who lives in Temple - she will make a point to stop and have a meal with you! She asked that I pass this on.... Troy is closer to St. Louis than Centralia, you should pass Centralia on your journey though if you are driving... Centralia is more center of the southern part of the state, near Mt. Vernon, Carbondale, etc.
Well for my breakfast I had a piece of WW toast and a slice of smoked cheddar cheese.... for a snack I had some grapes.... but I have been really busy moving around the house getting things in order. If it were not raining so hard outside, I would be walking for some exercise. I am tempted to run over to the gym today - and I just might if I get sick of being home....

It's one of those weekends. Tons I need to be doing but can't really get to it. I have three websites besides my own that I'm working on...but can't do anything till I get others to tell me what's next. :) Hubby is working again...they are trying to work him till he drops. I'm fixing to brave this warm weather and shot my bow. I was able to site it in myself the other day so it's pretty much on the money.
Tranquil.....that quiche sounds soooo good. I haven't thought about dinner yet. All I know is something easy. Probably something junky and fatty for my crew like frozen pizza. Of course that leaves me out. So I'll just have a piece of that quiche...LOL
YellowRose...congratulations on the weight starting to go down again.
Sef...that is so cool! Not only are you getting smaller. You saved some money by not having to buy a new one.
Chris...how's the water? It's been years since I've been to the beach. We don't have a boardwalk but I've seen them on TV. I hope they didn't reach out and grab ya.:)
Monet....sorry you had such an uncomfortable night last night. I hope in time you all get to know each other better and there isn't that awful feeling of being unliked. You did great...I could have never gone there and sat through feelings like that.
Toni---Hey!!! :)
Bob---glad you eye is doing better. Hope you get over all this sickness soon.
Fruit...Yeah on no more nosebleeds! My poor son gets them all the time. And sometimes it takes ice and a loooong time for them to stop.
Rosalie....yippee on the new britches! Nothing like a smaller size to help keep us motivated.
Music...is it hot enough this year or what? This has got to be one of the driest years I can remember in Texas. I did get an afternoon shower the other day. That was a nice treat. How is your mom doing?
Kimmy...you out playing with those kids again? :) Hope you are taking care of yourself girlie.
Deb...are you finding any time to enjoy your "kids free" time? I went to the WW site. I really like the way the recipe part is set up. I don't have a ton of time but count me in to help if I can.
Hey everybody I missed or haven't seen in a while. Hope you are all having a GREAT day!
Love,

Hi Everyone!
Not much happening here. I did want to tell you all that I had a nice IM with VIV on Friday. She’s doing well and wanted me to send greetings to everyone. For all you newbies, VIV was with us months ago, but her life has taken a turn and she’s incredibly busy and cannot be with us now. But she wishes us all well and hopes we all have great successes.
JRED---Girlfriend, I am wih you on the freckles thing. I’m covered. Actually, it’s mostly on my arms. Did you blister when you were a kid? I always blistered which now we know is so bad for you. But back then, it didn’t seem like anybody was that careful. Hope your DD felt good enough to get her shower today. Let’s hope that’s the first step to a speedy recovery.
JENN---Hope your blahs have left. You are wise to do the vitamin thing. But don’t give in to that cloud that’s following you around. You are worth all this hard work that you are doing. Slowly but surely you can see the results of it. Keep with us. And keep your chin up.
DEB---I have to kid you about what you said on Friday morning. You said, “As soon as I put on my bra and started to get dressed . . .” I don’t know why that struck me funny, but it kind of sounded like when you go walking is the only time you wear a bra. Like the storm clouds were waiting for you to break out that one bra and then they would know it was time to pour. I haven’t tried the tuna in the pouches only because I’m too cheap to buy it. But that’s an excellent idea to keep it in the car. Thanks for clearing up the explanation of the flour. Your words of wisdom about staying OP are so good. Perhaps I should cross stitch them into a sampler. Better yet, have them tattooed on my you-know-what so I can read them in reverse in the mirror. LOL
JACK-K---I so loved what you had to say as far as your philosophy for your journey to the perfect weight. It really gives me a boost to hear you say that you don’t even consider cheating and that you are not going to let anything get in the way of you losing the weight. FANTASTIC!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
BOB---Glad to hear that BabyJay is doing well and growing like crazy. Poor Kathy . . . I’ll bet she was exhausted trying to keep him fed and happy. He sound slike he’s going to be a big strapping guy.
TRANQUIL---Thanks for sharing your thoughts on weight loss. You are EXACTLY right. I don’t even know what “denying myself” means. For months I had pretty much given my mouth whatever my eyes saw or my brain thought of. So now I do know what happens if I don’t corral my eating. Nothing is more important that getting healthy!!! I appreciate you letting us know what you were thinking. I want some of that broccoli cheddar crustless quiche you were making. Is it good? More importantly, is it easy?
ROSALIE---CONGRATS on getting into a size smaller in jeans!!! That is so awesome. I’m glad you truly relished the moment and did the happy dance at the store. Wouldn’t you just love to do a cartwheel when something great like that happens? I surely would.
SEF---You did really well at the italian restaurant. Thank goodness, you had a better outcome than poor DEB. You are certainly shrinking. Those are some impressive numbers you shared on the briefer. Fantastic!!! Are those briefers hot? Fitting into smaller sizes is just so sweet.
YELLOW----Way to go. It’s good to know that you are feeling great and getting back on the straight and narrow. Doesn’t it feel great to take charge of these efforts? Keep going!!! Sorry that I thought you were in TX. Guess I was being stupid. I don’t know what made me think you were in Dallas. Those pretzels are in a smallish brown bag.
Okay, I guess that’s it for me. Hope you all are enjoying your weekends. Ours is going well. I made rosemary chicken last night for supper and there’s enough left for supper tonight. That’s a great thing!!!
Take care.

Evenin' y'all. Just checking in real quick. Hope everybody is having a good weekend. I haven't gotten much accomplished today. Been pretty lazy. My eating has been pretty bad too.:( Back on track tomorrow I hope. Sarah has what we think are the chicken pox.:eek:She had the immunization along with all the others, but it sure looks like it. She's not too bothered by it though.
CRYSTLE: Man, you're not kidding. It's so hot and dry. It did rain here yesterday, but that only made it more sticky and hot. Dennis and his mom went fishing last night, but didn't catch anything but mosquitoes and heat.:dz: My mom is doing pretty good- talked to her this a.m. She's tired and doesn't know if she wants to continue with the chemo. It doesn't make her sick, but she thinks that's what is making her so tired. Also she's worried about the cost. She gets this next week off and then will see the dr. on July 1. I'm going with her on that day.
BOB: Glad you're on the mend.
Gotta fold clothes and put kids in the tub. Time for Saturday night baths.

Hi everyone
I just got back from my grandson's soccer tournament. His team won their two games to-day and will be playing again tomorrow. I will have to miss that one as I have other plans for tomorrow afternoon.
YellowRose - It's good to hear you are still on a downward trend. I know it does help to record what you are eating. I don't do it all the time as I find it time-consuming but periodically I will enter my intake into Fitday. It at least makes you more aware of what you are putting in your mouth. I don't think an occasional glass of red wine should be a problem.
Tranquil - Lucky you with your clean house. I planned on vacuuming this morning but after getting up so late decided to leave it for another day. At least I got my bathrooms cleaned last night before going to bed. I had a spurt of energy after my snooze.
CountryMom - Have you tried making sb legal pizza with sgww flour. When I make it I usually make an extra one to put in the freezer for an easy, quick and legal meal. I don't eat it often but will have it occasionally. And I make the crust very thin.
Have to go and fix something for dinner. I see a couple of more posts since I started this. I will be back soon to read them.
Marie.

I guess I missed the last page of posts!
BOB - Glad to hear you are doing better. It's about time you got rid of all the crud.
Quilter - Thanks for letting us know about VIV.
Musicteach - Hope it isn't chicken pox that Sarah has. I hate to think of you housebound for a couple of weeks. :(
I'm off to the kitchen to clean dishes then to settle down to some reading. I have a couple of mysteries - one a Janet Evanovich and the other Elizabeth George. I think I'll start with the
Evanovich, it looks like a lighter read.
Bye for now.
Marie.

Just a quick note to say that I have posted the link to the SB gals (SEF, TRANQUIL, SERENE, & SLAPHAPPY) pics on the picture board. Sorry I had to do it this way, but they were too big to post on the board without going in to resize them & I just have not had the time.
Hopeing to get back to posting soon. I did read some of the posts & glad to see most everyone is doing ok. When I get the chance, I will be addressing some of the things I read, but for now, it's past my bedtime & need to be up at 5am for another day of work. Night all! Hope everyone has a blessed week end.

Good Morning!
Well how is everyone this morning? I'm doing really well. I have my nieces here with me for a couple of days and they are just precious! Me, the 2 girls and my sister went shopping and to see the YaYa Sisterhood movie yesterday. It was a great day! I loved the movie. So, that's why I never checked in yesterday. Needless to say my eating was horrid! So, I'm up a couple of pounds today! But, I VOWED to myself that today was the start of a brand new me. I have got to get back on plan! I've been off long enough with my surgery and I've played around with the same few pounds this whole time. Now It's back to business!
FROG: I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. Hope that you SLAH business picks up real soon! I still want to have a party you know! What a deal with the shoes - you can send them back even after you've worn them out! That must mean that they have a lot of faith in their shoes!
QUILTER: Give me the name of Dr. Phils book again. I will pick it up next week!
JRED: I've got a few moles to remove myself. Do you get any of those, what are they called, skin tags? I've got some of those too! I just don't want to go to the doctor to have them removed until I lose weight! Isn't that ridiculous?! My OBGYN is the only person that needs to see any more of me than I would like and that's enough right now!! HAHA!
JENN: What do you mean - do I ever wake up and wonder what's the use - why even try?!? Girl - that's my life's motto over the past few years!! I know where you are coming from! We'll get through it! It will all be worth it in the end!
DEB: Oh no - I'm talking again - as of Tuesday! But, I have been talking more than I am supposed to - especially with my nieces here. I'm trying to be good and still have limited voice use but it is hard!
JACK-K: Pictures of me doing the yawning exercises would be hilarious! I'm so positive that I look ridiculous that I make the speech therapist do them with me so that I'm not alone in the crazy process!!
BOB: Oh my GAWD! I would have freaked if I had seen that dr. coming at me with a huge q-tip like device to put in my eye! OUCH! Hopefully all of your troubles will be gone soon! I am able to talk now - but it was rough - you know me - mouth of the South! Thanks for the tampons - that is definitely what did the trick - just the thought of them being in my nose made my nose stop bleeding!! Why do you think BEACH just fell off the earth like that? I miss her - I hope nothing happened to her. What a bout GATOR? She was poking in every now and then - where has she been?
TRANQUIL: Don't get depressed when you are mid-cycle! That will lead to binge eating! Well - it always led ME to binge eating! Anyway - you keep on doing your thing and it will all come off! You know what is funny - I really do believe that BOB would have shown up on my doorstep if the bleeding had not stopped and she would have had tampons in tow!! Isn't she just the funniest person!! Gotta love BOB!!
ROSALIE: You know they have those cameras in those places! I hope you were doing a good dance in that dressing room! HAHA! We may see you on that show SPY TV or something dancing around in your new jeans!! Congrats on the smaller size!
SEF: The jokes were too funny! The German one took me FOREVER to read!! HAAHA! How komplikated vuz zat? Congrats on the new briefers! Isn't that a great feeling!? And - OH - to actually be able to breathe in them while you have them on is such an added plus! HAHA!
COUNTRY: I'm so impressed that you can now site in your own bow! I'm gonna have to tell my husband about you! Maybe I better not - then he will want me outside with him shooing his bow!! HAHA Yeah - I kept the ice pack handy these past few weeks. It felt real good to pick it back up into the bathroom cabinet the other day!
MUSIC: Keep those chicken pox over there! I haven't had them yet! I just know that one day I'll have an outbreak in my class and I'll get them too! Won't that suck?
Ok - I'm running - y'all have a great day!

Good Sunday Morning All:wave:
Don't have much time to post this morning, trying to get a few things done before the kids get home today. Their ship was supposed to dock at 8am and I'm just waiting for that expected phone call saying "we're baaaaccckk!" Im' just about finished with their bathroom, looks 98% better than when they left, but still have a few things to get accomplished in there, though it won't be done today. Have to redo the caulk around the tub-mildew:eek: Have to paint the grout, tried cleaning it and some is so bad it won't even clean so painting is easier than re-grouting, may attempt that tonight if I have time.
After the kids get home I have to scoot my sister out of her house. Today is her bday and I'm the ploy to take her out to lunch so my BIL can clean the house and fix a surprise BBQ party for later - she thinks he's forgotten her bday, boy is she pissed! Sooo, I'm going with her and just the baby, the others are going to stay home with my BIL and "help"
So, on that note, I'm off and trying to get a few things done before I have to jump in to the shower and get ready. I'll be back on either later tonight or tomorrow morning. May be more like tomorrow morning because I think once the kids have the chance to get back on the computer after 1 week of no computer time I'll be taking a back seat for sure. If I can't make it on tonight, not to worry, I'll be on in the morning to start the new weekly board and try to reply to everyone since my last cath-up post - I won't have trouble in the morning, I KNOW the kids will be sleeping in!!!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Last night I had to pee and pee and pee - I know, too much info! hahaha = but good info because I am back down to what I was last WIW - no more bloat!
It stopped raining last night, so we walked.... felt good!
Deb - Enjoy your day with your sis and her b'day!
Fruit - I agree BOB has a great sense of humor! My kind of humor... I do get depressed and binge :( But, I am not this time! Today I am up, showered and running about - we are going to SportsAuthority for a pedometer. And, tonight I am making a flounder dinner and of all people, the ExH is coming over. His brother passed away and I felt he needed some company, his family all live so far away.
Rosalie - Congrats to your soccer champions!
Quilter & BOB - Yes, I made the best quiche, I used Deb's recipe, but because I did not have spinach or mushrooms - I just doubled on the broccoli. So, I ran off to the grocers and bought a week's supply of ingredients for the recipe... they had a sale on portabello sliced mushrooms too - so it will be a yummy fancy quiche as well!
Country - If only you were closer, we could share my quiche :)
Well, hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday - it is not raining here so I am going to get out and absorb daylight and run around.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!!
Just took a squash casserole out of the oven and it smells devine!
Won't have any of it until tomorrow for lunch...going over the NEWLYWEDS for dinner. My nephew requested that I make a banana pudding I did...it looks WONDERFUL...but I'll be leaving that over there..;)
FRUIT....TRANQUIL....awe...gals...you make BOB BLUSH!!!! ...Yes Missy, I was checking the SW AIRLINES schedule..found a deal on a box of 120 multipack to bring to you..You know...from extreme super right on down to dribble
, but then I saw on the news where they were going to put me into a seat and measure my big ole arse to see if it fit into their seat!!! It does, but I won't give them the pleasure of measuring this big ole butt!!!
Got all the laundry done, and now I have to turn my matress..I swear....BOB's work is NEVER done!!
Missy...heard from Gator this morning...she's just busy..she'll be sticking that snout in here pretty soon...we're getting pretty close to count down time here...New coach or not...she'll be keeping the road hot between Orlando and Gainesville this fall!
But you know whats funny???? He used to be a coach at
TENNESSEE ...now they really will learn how to play ball!!! (pssst...that ought to get her in here!);)

Hello Busters of Sugar!!!
It’s that time on Sunday evening when we know the work week is right around the corner. Oh, that makes me wonder if the laundry magically got done this weekend. Hmmmmm. Something in the pit of my stomach says I already know the answer. LOL Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. My parents were here for a visit and we had a very good time with them. Mom has suffered from arthritis for years and lately it has settled in one of her knees. She’s been so unable to walk that she didn’t want to go anywhere. Well, a couple of weeks ago she had a shot of cortizone in it and I can’t believe the difference. We did little shopping trips all three days they were here. That was so cool. She just kept saying, This is so much fun. I really like getting out and seeing everything. This made us feel so good to see her so happy and being able to do what she wanted to do. I’m sure that SEF can relate to this story about how arthritis can really turn the tables on you.
MUSIC---Sorry to hear that your weekend hasn’t really gone the way you’d have planned. Hope your daughter’s spots disappear quickly. I didn’t get the chicken pox until I was 23 when I was substitute teaching. Not fun and the time was awful!
ROSALIE---Are you reading Seven Up or does Janet E. have another new one? I LOVE her books. Yes, it’s light reading, but so easy to laugh with. That grandmother of hers cracks me up. The only thing bad about reading about Stephanie Plum is that her eating habits are terrible and she always puts bad thoughts into my head of the wrong things to eat. I also like Elizabeth George too! We have the same taste in books.
MELF---Thanks for checking in with us and thanks for going to the trouble to do the pictures. That’s great! I loved seeing them.
FRUIT---It sounds like you are doing so much better. I can’t even begin to believe all the pain and discomfort you’ve been through in the past couple of weeks. I know I can hardly stand to have my nose accidentally bumped! Ouch! I loved the Yaya book, and am afraid I’ll be dissapointed with the movie. What do you think??? The Dr. Phil book I am reading is Self Matters. It’s a hardback, but I got it at Sam’s for like $15. The other one is Life Strategies, but I haven’t read this one yet. The thing I love about the Self Matters is that refers to being overweight as one of the ways we aren’t being our true authentic self. So it’s really easy to apply the stuff to our journey. This book may help you with your brand new start. I was in the exact same place you were (minus the major surgery, of course) just playing around with healthy eating. So I’ve got my fingers crossed for you to get back on track. Don’t beat yourself up. You’ve had a tremendous amount on your plate (no pun). You had to be focused on healing and getting through all that. Now that you are getting better, your focus can naturally shift.
DEB---Aren’t you the sneaky Pete plotting a surprise party with your BIL?!? Hope it went well. Does your sis look like you? Just trying to picture two Debs shopping like crazy and talking non-stop.
TRANQUIL---Glad to hear the bloat has gone bye bye. That’s miserable. You were wise to flush that sucker out. The quiche sounded so great. I love portabellos.
BOB----The squash casserole sounds interesting. Do we have that recipe???? Hey those two words you uttered put a definite taste in my mouth: “butt measuring”. YEEEEEK!!!!! I will not be buying one or two seats from them anytime soon or later.
Okay, people. This puts a wrap on me for another week. I’m hoping for us all that we have a fabulous week. That we all stay on OP and all feel really great about ourselves and we all have huge smiles on our faces on Wednesday when we step off the scales. Actually I hope we all have huge smiles for the whole week. Take care!

Hello!!
Two times in one day!! Woohoo! I just wanted to let you all know that I had a fabulous first day back on plan. It feels so good! Just wanted to catch up on a few posts while I had a minute!
DEB: Aren't you the sneaky one!! I love surprise parties - it's especially fun to be in on the planning of it! Hope the kids had a good trip - I'm anxious to hear the details! Hope they don't hog the computer too much - we do want to hear from you!!!
TRANQUIL: Good for you for not binge eating - that is fabulous! I think it is very nice of you to have your ex over for dinner at such a sad time. I take it that y'all are still friends and that the divorce wasn't a bad one. Were you able to make it to sports authority?
BOB: I'm so happy that you heard from GATOR. I figured that she was busy - but I just miss my friends! Are you serious about the seats or am I falling for a BOB joke?!?
QUILTER: Thanks for the names of the books. I'm definitely gonna pick those up this week. I'm reading YA YA right now - I'm about halfway through. The movie was very good but it is different from the book. It seems as though they could have done a better job of sticking to the book from what I have read so far. But, I thought the movie was really good. I'm gonna continue to read the book and we'll discuss it after you see the movie and I finish the book - deal?
Ok - I'm outta here! See y'all tomorrow evening. I'll be painting in my classroom tomorrow starting early - so have a great day!

I just got back from walking. I dont know why, but 1.5 mile felt like 3 miles tonight! Boo Hoo, I really wanted to get some walking in, but I just could not do anymore.... oh well, tomorrow is my first day training without the trainer. Wish me luck!
Quilter - I am right there with you on the laundry - got the house clean, but there are still clothes in the dryer I just have not gotten out yet, and another load to do! Yuch
Fruit - Ex and I can be friends sometimes, sometimes not - but most of the time we can be friendly. I did make it to the Sports Authority and I got the talking pedometer I wanted that was on sale = yep, the one on sale, and got home to find out it does not work! So, back to the store to return it!
BOB - Squash casserole sounds good...is it a recipe on the board? I have not had banana pudding for a long time, I used to love that stuff when I was little...
Tonight I made a greek salad, pan fried flounder (used stone ground wheat flour to lightly bread), and for the guys - they had spinach fettucine tossed with olive oil and fresh grated parmesan. I got a good response on it - bowls were licked clean - and I tried to fill myself up on the salad rather than anything else - I had a little bit of the fish and it was pretty delicious! I will have to buy some more fish this week.
I am packing up the remainder of the salad for lunch tomorrow, along with some sliced deli turkey and grapes ( I bought seedless black grapes - which are absolutely just like candy).
Hope all have a good evening - and a good Monday morning!

I had a good day to-day. This morning I got out for an early swim and this afternoon I was out lawn bowling. Then I came home and vacuumed. Something I should have done a couple of days ago but I ran out of time. Thought it was a good idea to get it done so I don't have to bother in the morning as I have better things to do tomorrow. I want to go shopping to look for a dress. Just feel like having a dress for the summer, nothing special. Then at noon I will be playing badminton and then off to work for an evening shift. I almost forgot, I even was in the garden for a short while picking up some weeds. Didn't get it all done as it was so hot out there and I had to save some energy for bowling.
Melf - Hope you didn't have to work too hard to-day.
Fruitloupe - Glad to see you are getting back op. I'm sure you will get rid of those extra pounds in no time. Hope you enjoyed your weekend with your nieces.
Deb - Hope the kids enjoyed their holiday and that they give you a chance to get on the computer. How did the birthday party go? Your ds sounds like me. I used to get really pissed if no one mentioned my birthday in the morning and then came up with a surprise later. Even a 'Happy Birthday' would have been sufficient, just to know they hadn't forgotten.
BOB - Which recipe do you use for the Squash Casserole? The only one I have used is from the SB book and that's good.
Quilter - Sounds like your Mom really enjoyed her shopping trip. I've read two of Janet Evanovich so far, High Five and Seven Up and I've now got Two for the Dough. I know what you mean about her eating habits. She just loves fast food. The cop in the EG book I have just read was the same. It must be something about their lifestyle. The Elizabeth George one I have just read is Deception On His Mind. That was a good read. Which ones of hers have you read?
I should go and do some sewing. I made a seat cover for a patio chair a week or two ago and just haven't gotten around to finishing them off. I wanted to make sure it fitted before making any more. I'm sick of looking at all the stuff on the armchair.
Have a good week everyone.
Marie.
