is a godsend, no joke.

so i'm a vegan, and the one thing i hated giving up was yogurt- which is a great way to lose weight. probiotics = lots of pooping out the fat (excuse my french)-- but it's true!

plus, many have said that yogurt helps get rid of belly fat, which is something i'm sure all of us wanna get rid of!

i went to the supermarket and the beautiful packaging caught my eye- SILK SOY YOGURTS!!

yum yum! i decided to walk home (2 miles) from a long day at work... just because nyc was so pretty tonight, and of course after a good walk i told myself i should have a snack before bed. i totally went for the silk yogurts, but just for kicks i added 1 cup of blueberries. i know i know- that's practically an entire meal... 230 calories to be exact. but i'm allowing myself some relief... since i ate yogurt before bed, and i'm hoping those beautiful bacterias will be at work all night while i'm asleep =)

whether you're vegan or not, go go go get yourself those yogurts!!! and do what i did- add fresh fruits! it doesn't add too many calories, but it completely filled me up! guilt-free guilt-free guilt-free!

I buy plain unsweetened yogurt in the tub and add blueberries in it. I don't like that they sweeten the individual yogurts. It is also cheaper to portion it out myself. I actually rarely eat it but give it to my husband every day. Today I have some with strawberries :)

I haven't looked terribly hard yet, but I didn't initially find any soy yogurt that didn't have the additives/stabilizers/stuff I have been so happily avoiding with my Greek yogurt.

I'm ok with the ingredients in plain soy yogurt although I've seen recipes for making it yourself, I have yet to try. If it wasn't for the probiotics, I'd generally not even think about eating yogurt or giving it to my husband. I'd recommend it over dairy products but that is my view/choice.

Coconut milk yogurt is pretty good too but they add sweeteners so I think it is too sweet.

What is Greek yogurt? I have tried Silk Soy Yogurt and it was pretty good.

Greek yogurt is strained dairy (cow milk) yogurt.

I'll have to keep an eye out for the silk yogurt. I have been disappointed that the Commissary doesn't carry soy yogurt at all! :(

I totally agree. I bought it for the first time last week, on a whim. It is delish--plain is just a touch too sour for me, so I add a little maple sryup. Yum! On the weekend, I made sweet potato fries and made chipotle "mayo" using soy yogurt instead. Very yum! I may have to keep it as a staple from now on.

I'm sorry, I had no idea I'd given the impression it was vegan. My whole point was that I had looked for a non-dairy alternative I was happy with and hadn't seen it yet.

A supermarket near me started carrying them this week so I am happy. Only problem is the do not carry plain and I am not a big fan of strawberry, banana or peach.
Too bad it has the cane juice but I can live with that considering I eat very few premade items.

I use Wildwood unsweetened soy yogurt and add a few drops of KAL stevia extract to sweeten and some berries. Or I blend it up in a smoothie with some fruit and juice. The big warehouse grocery store near me started carrying it, so I can pick some up even when I don't want to drive across town to the co-op. They have a whole dairy-free section now actually, with soy creamer and all sorts of fun stuff. :D

I love soyogurt! But I buy a brand called wild wood at whole food. It's organic but still the same price as silk.

Great find! I'm going to have to keep an eye out for these. I drink Silk's soy milk so these would be great to sample. Thanks for sharing. ;)

Just did a product search on their site and the closest store that carries these to me would be Whole Foods. May have to make a pit stop at WF tomorrow while I'm out and about. ;)

I can't have dairy due to a digestive disorder, so this is very good to know! I'm excited about trying the plain flavor instead of sour cream. If only I could find a good non-dairy cheesecake!

My favorite flavors are the strawberry, raspberry, and vanilla. They don't have plain soy yogurt anywhere around here. I eat them for breakfast about 3x per week with fresh berries and cascadian farms chocolate granola. SO good and filling too. Very light for summer.

My favorite kind of soy yogurt is Whole Soy & Co. I get the vanilla flavored and then just mix it up with a berries and granola/cereal. It's awesome.
