Well here she is! I went into labor naturally on 5/9/09. Went to the hospital Sunday 5/10/09 around 3am. Phoebe Lynn was born 5/10/09 at 12:50pm weighing 8lbs 8oz and was 21.25 inches long. Here are some pictures! She is keeping Mom and Dad VERY busy! :)

She's beautiful, Lori! I'm sure the next few weeks will be a little crazy until you get into a regular schedule. My best advice: sleep when Phoebe sleeps even if you feel like you need to get things done. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Lisa, I hope you had a good weekend. It's been busy here at work with orientation things gearing up.

Today I'm going to a "Purse and Pearl" Luncheon benefiting the Mercy Center for Women's Dress for Success Erie. We went last year and it was very nice. Our support staff organization has held clothing drives (gently used business clothes, shoes, accessories) for the group and we've adopted it as our "pet project". They do a lot of good for women who are going back into the work force. They even set them up with hair cuts, make up, etc. What they do with the purses is they have you put a "pearl of wisdom" on a slip of paper and put in there for whoever gets the purse. It's a neat idea.

The weather here has been cool but at least the sun is out. It's cool today (60) but tomorrow we're supposed to hit the mid to upper 70's. The weather is crazy this time of year.

I'm fighting the achiness in my joints/muscles and the bouts of tiredness...I'm just counting down the days until I get my bloodwork and hopefully back onto my meds.

Just a quick update--went to my meeting today was pleasantly surprised to have lost 1# (from the 3.4 I gained a couple weeks ago).

My throat is sore and when I sneeze it hurts. The weather here is beautiful today--78 and sunny. I wish I was outside!

Lori, Phoebe is beautiful. Thanks for the photos--I like the last one with the little smile and the wink. Hope you are doing all right (except for not getting any sleep)

Melissa, You rock! I wish I could say that I have lost; I'm going the wrong way and I need some motivation. I don't know what has gotten into me. I stay active and the guess that's the only thing that prevents me from becoming a blimp!

This is my short week at work. Hope to play some golf this weekend. We have a graduation party to attend.

Aww thanks ladies! She sure is a handful. Breastfeeding has been an adventure. I almost gave up after 5 days, it was so painful. My mom came down for an emergency visit to help me get her to latch on properly. Things are much better now with that, and I'm continuing with it for the next 2.5 weeks (until I have to go back on my meds).

Sleep is fleeting. I went to bed at 9:30 last night and woke up at 7am, but only actually got around 6.5-7 hours of sleep. She is up for a while sometimes when she wakes up to eat.

We had a lot of visitors after she arrived. If we ever do this again, I am banning visitors except for immediate family members for the first two weeks. That was way too much!

My parents and brothers are going to come down here on Memorial Day (Monday). It should be nice. They all saw Phoebe when I was in the hospital, but only my mom has seen her since.

Oh and I wanted to mention that my older brother's wife is pregnant! She is due in November. I've known for quite some time but they wanted to keep it a secret until after she was 13 weeks. I'm very excited for them! My SIL is also on medication that she has to go off of while she is pregnant. Her condition is not as serious as mine, but still not perfect. I told her I completely understand where she is right now if she ever wants to talk about that (worrying about being off her meds).

Melissa - Congrats on that 1 pound loss! I must have missed the posts about you going off your meds. Is everything alright?

Lisa - Your weekend sounds fun!

Lori: I know exactly what you mean about visitors--it really is exhausting. I only breast fed my DS #1 until I went back to work--I tried to do it because I was part-time but it didn't work well and I figured some was better than none at all. It takes a little getting used to with breastfeeding. I opted out the second time around.

I had the radioactive iodine treatment last week and am taking nothing at all right now. The side effects so far have been a sore throat--more on the outside by where my thyroid is (sneezing hurts--kind of like when you have a bad chest cold) and the aching in my joints & muscles. The dizzy tired feeling comes and goes. I'm trying to stay focused on the fact that I have blood work scheduled for June 1 and if all goes well I'll be back on the synthroid shortly after that.

Lisa, I have to say I was pretty excited to have a 1# loss although who knows what's going to happen this week because we go to my cousins and eat/drink way too much. I'm going to try and counter balance it but we'll see. I'm off tomorrow too so the weekend starts early.

It's gorgeous here today with the sun shining and a warm 78 degrees. It's a perfect day in my book. I only wish I was able to be outside enjoying it!

Lori, I have heard that from many new moms--that so many people want to visit and it's just too much. Put your foot down. That's great about your SIL. You will be able to help her through her pregnancy.

Melissa, Glad your weather cleared up. Hope you have a good weekend. It's rainy here.
