How are we all today. Me, I'm all of a sudden very tired in the evenings. I'm not sure whether it's my body telling me I'm doing too much or whether it's the time of the year and my body wanting to just hibernate. It's dark now by 5:30 pm and there's still a month to go before the shortest day, so actually seeing daylight is getting to be a challenge during the week.
Pretty ordinary sort of day today - gym, work, home. I upped the weights on another of the machines - deliberately this time - and my arms are a bit sore as a result. Work was quiet for a Monday - managed to get some time to organise a team function we're having next month. It's a bit frustrating actually - the rest of the team wait for me to step in and organise team activities because they know I can't not organise. Yes, my name is Nicole and I'm a control freak...
Tomorrow it'll be much of the same sort of thing - gym, work, home. I've got Wednesday off - my friend and I decided we wanted a day off to just have a catch up, so that's what we're doing. We're going out for lunch at a Japanese restaurant and may catch a movie as well, depending on how we feel. I'm hoping to see Defiance, but Star Trek would also be good as well. There's so many good movies around at the moment.
Lixxi, my goodness you've been busy. Don't spread yourself too thin!
MJ, men! And I bet he was able to just walk in and pick up something from the rack and go with that. Good thing we love them, isn't it?
Jab, writing things down is a fantastic idea. Your menu sounds so yummy!

Hi chicks!! I had a wonderful (and very busy) weekend.:) Lots of family was here for the celebration of my nephews party. I especially loved having my GS here. :D Now back to food reality!!! I am planning for a healthy day and week! My foot is improving...YAY.:)

Good Morning! It's going to be another busy week, but a short week, so that's fine w/ me! We are leaving Friday for my friends wedding and I can't wait! It will be a little mini vacation for dh and I!! Workouts are going to be tough this week, so I am going to plan on walking during my lunch break. At least I will get something in each day.
nicolen--I know I get tired easily when it gets dark earlier, so that could certainly be it. Sounds like a great day w your friend!!! Yep...had to try on two pairs of pants and two shirts...that's it. done. UGH!!!! Oh well, at least now he has something to wear!
jab--I agree...it's easier for me to stay on plan at work too...I drink more water at work too, not sure why though...

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a good week. I had a great weigh-in today. I already put another post in about it, but I just thought I'd share with you all. I am now back to where I was in early 2008... before I put all the weight back on plus some. I feel good and bad about it for obvious reasons. But, now I have to move on. Workout was good today. I am thankful that I have my gym. I also think that talking with you all on this thread has helped me a lot. I don't really like talking to people here at work about losing weight or to my friends, so it has helped to be here.
MJ: The lunchtime walks can be good too! I try to do that at least a couple of days a week.
Beverly: Glad your foot is doing better! That's a relief.
Jab: I hear you! Work does keep me on track with food.
Nicolen: Lunch and a movie sounds like fun!

I am feeling sore at the moment. Mainly because I worked really hard at the gym this morning and the backs of my legs are really reminding me of that! I'm going to go have a shower in a few minutes - hot water can't hurt.
The weather has packed in again and they're predicting snow on the hills and flurries in the city by morning. I think I might have picked the right day to have off - nothing wrong with staying in bed and having a sleep in. I was planning on going for a swim, but I'll see what the weather does.
Work is relatively quiet, so we're hoping that'll continue for a while. Things always go to custard once the winter storms hit, but the closer we are to being up to date, the easier we cope.
Jab, know what you mean about it being easier at work. I work in a call centre, so my day is very structured as to when I have breaks. At home, I'm pretty unstructured and that can lead to disaster.
Beverly, yay for your foot feeling better! How's your husband finding the new job?
MJ, good for you trying to get some exercise in.
Diane, yay for good weigh ins! Awesome stuff.

Hello everyone! I'll try and post a bit more this week, but really, my schedule is jammed to the bone. This is probably the only thread that I ever see in 3FC now, but I'm following a few chicks on twitter, and reading about their day (food, runs, gym etc) keeps me motivated to eat right.
It was an okay day for me. Ate a lot in the beginning of the day, generally feeling full now towards the end, so will probably skip dinner. I'm going to try out some 20 minute pilates video I managed to get later tonight. Will let you know if it's any good!
Jab- Veggie omelette sounds nice! I've been craving for spinach omelette for the longest time now, problem is I don't cook!
MJ- Enjoy your mani/pedi! ^__^
Nicole- Feeling sore is good! I'll trade you Singapore weather any day man.
Diane- Yeah, the only real life person I talk about weight loss to is my bf, but he's skinny as **** and doesn't really get the process that much. 3FC is much better.

It's gorgeous out today and I have crappy crappy work work work.
DH said he'd pick up the compost on the way home from work today, so maybe we'll get out and do some gardening this evening and grill something and get to enjoy some of the day anyway.

Hi everyone. I went to the gym today and worked out on the elliptical. I used to think that was pretty easy, but I'll tell you since a trainer told me to add in going backwards, that is a really tough workout. I'm up to 25 minutes total with two 5 minute sections of going backwards. I might add more time, but I still like to get a little weight/lifting in after I'm done, so there is only so much time I have! Anyway, my legs were doing that twitching thing after I was done, so I think it was a good workout.
Lixxi - I've thought about Pilates a lot. I think it would be a really good thing to do. Good for you!
Schmoodle - Have fun with your crappy work! Lol! Crappy work and then working with compost. Big day! I like your menu, too, by the way.

Ok, so Diane asked for details....my mani/pedi was wonderful. They were running a bit behind, so they asked if I would like to go ahead and wait in one of the massage chairs....ummm, YES! My nails are now a pretty California Raspberry color. Tonight is haircut/color. Then I'll be ready for Spring!
Unfortunately w/ work being so hectic and my appts after work, I haven't been so great about exercise. Food has been ok. Water has been really good. We are taking the dogs w/ us this weekend, so there will be lots of opportunities to get them outside to play/walk--that will be good for all of us!!!

Yesterday was a high stress day both at work and home. Didn't get my walk in and I need to do better about moving once I get home from work.
Just seems like after spending all day on my feet running around then coming home to do chores, help w/schoolwork I don't have much ummph left in me. I need to change that!!!

Hi everyone. I'm pretty sore today after workout. Wednesdays are the days I skip cardio to work on weights. Sheesh, my muscles are sore. But I guess that's good.
I've got a great weekend coming up. We have the Junior College World Series here and the tournament starts on Saturday. Lots of games with teams from all over the country. It's a really good time... if you like baseball (and I do). I have to do some planning though. In the past, we've taken snacks and eaten there, but there weren't a lot of healthy choices. Last year, I didn't care. This year, I do. So, better start doing some thinking now!
Beverly: That little slip won't stop you! You're back on track already. Good for you!
Jab: It is tough getting exercise in after a long day. I work out in the morning because I just couldn't get it done at night! Sounds like your food choices are great, though. Good job!

Hi guys! Just popping in.
Long, hard day today. I only got home nearly 10:30pm. I'm getting quite irritable, which means that TOM is on it's way! Not looking forward to that. I decided to keep my sanity by skipping my temp job tomorrow to finish up on all my freelance work, if I didn't means it's no sleep from now till Saturday morning.
Food today: Cereal in the morning, a bite of the bf's peanut butter bread, some chinese noodle soup thing, 4 oreo cookies and a cup of yoghurt. Sounds little? Yes. I had to rush from temp job to freelance job so I had no time for dinner. Just four oreos and yoghurt.
I promise I'll do a 3 mile WAtP video tomorrow! Squeeze it in when I'm taking a break from my work.
Diane- I really wish I could give you suggestions for healthy snacks to bring to a game, but I'm at a loss right now. If I think of anything I'll be sure to let you know!
Beverly- Your menu sounds great! I think I'll try to scramble my own eggs tomorrow. No one's home to save me from the kitchen if anything goes wrong though! Haha!

I hate winter. I really do. Yesterday it didn't get above 5 degrees Celsius. We didn't have snow in the city, or at least not on my side of town. Apparently there was a bit of snow in the western suburbs. There is a decent dump of snow on the hills and I suspect it'll be there for the weekend at least since it's not going to get very warm at all...
So, I made it to the gym this morning and it was sleeting as I walked the last couple of blocks. I managed to bus about half the way, so it could have been worse. Yummy trainer told me not to tell him I'd walked in, so I didn't. I just needed to go - no exercise yesterday because it rained, sleeted or hailed all the day long, so I was feeling a bit antsy. Thinking about it, that's one thing that's definitely changed for me - it's not that many months ago that I wouldn't have gone to the gym if it was even threatening to rain and now I can't not exercise. Anyway, cardio today and workout with yummy trainer tomorrow.
The day off yesterday was OK - the weather put paid to a lot of our plans, but we did meet for lunch and it was yummy. We're definitely going back there. Funny thing though - the boss had lunch at the same place today. He enjoyed it as well.
I got a phone call about the job - just a touching base kind of thing. I don't have to redo the assessments since I did them last year and they'll be in touch once they've finished all the other assessments and hopefully I'll be in the group interview. I'll know by Wednesday next week, so here's hoping...

I did pretty good food wise, atleast if you don't count the chicken strip I snitched while cooking everyone else their dinner. I made everyone homemade pizza last weekend and managed to get thru it which was a miracle in itself. Wish I had been as strong last night. But I was really hungry by the time I got home and started cooking dinner so it probably weakened my resistance even more.

whole grain crackers or triscuits (the flavored ones are awesome)
craisins or any dried fruit

if you take a cooler the possibilities are even more.

I had an on-the-road day yesterday and stayed on plan pretty well except for that lara bar - it didn't list ingredients, but it was too yummy and couldn't have been legal. I am home today and trying to knock a lot off my list because DH and I are taking the day off tomorrow so we can dive into the yard work. We may (or may not) be going away this weekend, so I need to get my chores done that I usually save for the weekend. He keeps changing his mind and is generally driving me crazy. I like to have a plan, you know? In any case, 4-day weekend, woo-hoo. It's our anniversary too, so we'll have to plan something special.

Hi everyone! Ok, lunges kill me. I did some yesterday as I do every week on my weights only day. And, true to form, I am yet again sore. Evidently they are good for you, if soreness is good (ha). I worked out this morning and tried to stretch out the back of my legs and butt, but they're still sore. Should translate into a monstrous loss on Monday's weigh-in..... I hope!
Today is my kids' last day of school. My son is excited, my daughter is not. She's already missing the social aspect of it all! But, she'll have volleyball workouts starting soon, so I told her she'll be plenty social... at the gym and on the track. HA!!! Can't wait!!! (not that I will take pleasure in her pain just because she won't listen to me and work out on her own to stay in shape.... I'm just not like that.) :)
Schmoodle: Happy Anniversary! You're a lot like me. No plan and I'm lost.

Hi everyone! I wanted to make sure I caught up w/ everyone before we head out tomorrow. I checked out the website for the hotel and they have a great gym. I am going to workout while we are away. I have been way, way too busy the past few days to get any decent exercise, so I will do it! Plus, the dogs will be w/ us and they will need to get out and walk. Food wise, I am going to do my best. I know I will try to make healthy choices, but at the same time this is not something dh and I do very often, so I am not going to stress over every bite I take either. I am also going to have some wine at the reception.
jab--sorry to hear you are dealing w/ stress and work and home...that's not good!
Beverlyjoy--I had way too much food today. But like you say, tomorrow is a fresh start.

Yay Friday night!
The weather is miserable, I'm cuddled up with the cat, my blankie and the heater and I have a hot date with my DVD player. I lead an exciting life! ;) The weather forecast for tomorrow is worse, so I don't think I'll be going too far. I'd like to get to the gym and do the spin class, but I'll see what it's like.
Anyway, session with yummy trainer today which went well. I'm getting an odd sort of vibe from him at the moment - sort of the whole feeling each other out, finding out interests and that little bit of flirting that goes on before you actually ask someone else - know what I mean? I don't know whether it's me projecting what I'd like or whether there is something possibly going on. He's asking a lot of questions about things I like doing - what sort of movies I like, that sort of thing. Today he asked me what my plans were for the weekend - went through the little that I have got planned and then he asked what I was doing on Sunday. I hadn't mentioned Sunday since, well, Sunday's my stay at home and be domestic day. I'm not very good at reading this sort of thing, so yeah, I just don't know whether I'm completely misreading the signals or whether there actually is something there. I guess I'll have to see how things go from here on...
Jab, what do you do for a living that keeps you so busy? Well done on avoiding the pizza!

nicolen--snuggle up w/ that blanket, your cat and some good movies! I really dislike it when the weather is really crappy too. Although, I dislike super hot and high humidity even more...guess I just like to complain! LOL!!! Interesting about the yummy trainer...
jab--Wish I had your self control...I totally gave in to pizza and feel totally icky today beause of it!
I am mostly packed. Just have to get the 'bathroom stuff' that I can't really pack until after I take a shower this moring. We also have to get the dogs stuff packed which is tricky...as soon as they realize we are packing their 'stuff' they will start to freak out....they are sleeping now, so I may try and sneak some stuff into their bag (food, treats, leashes, toys)--I swear, we are taking as much 'stuff' for them as we are for us!!! LOL! I remembered the camera AND a whole package of batteries, so I will get lots of pics.
When I was talking to my younger brother last night (the one in the Army), he let me know he is going to be speaking at our town's Memorial Day celebration on Monday morning. I am really excited about that. Our dad used to speak there (he was a veteran too) quite frequently and I am really proud that my brother will be speaking this year. Dh has to work, so he will miss it, but our camera has a recording feature, so I'll try recording it for him.
I'm sure I'll pop in quick while I'm away, but it's kind of a pain to do from my phone sometimes, but I know I'll need the accountability!!!!

Unfortunately my self control wasn't that great yesterday...lol.
I worked different hours and didn't get home till just after 8pm. Came home to the rest of the family gone to dinner and a movie and a house full of chores needing to be done.
I spent about an hour running around the house picking up and taking care of the animals before finally throwing something together. I should have just ate some fruit and gone to bed but by then I was too hungry and that always does me in. I had the sandwich w/mayo on it and more juice.
Overall my intake before coming home wasn't that bad so maybe on some level it wasn't too awful horrendous. Either way it's done and today is a new day.
Fresh egg omelet w / Morningstar crumbles, mushrooms, tomatoes
8 oz Blueberry & pomegranate juice
Ham/Cheese Sandwich on nine grain bread

At the time I restarted my attempt to lose this weight, I was feeling pretty out of control and cooking healthy food did not seem at all interesting to me. So I decided to take cooking out of the equation for a while to get a jumpstart. I signed up with a local company near me that delivers healthy fresh meals to your door twice a week. They are low fat, but really tasty. You can choose the calorie level you want and in addition to the regular meals they have choices like vegetarian, diabetic, low carb, senior, etc. While it's expensive, and I don't see doing it forever, I have to say it's so nice to just have food show up ready to go, healthy, at the right calorie level. The variety is the thing I really like. As a single girl, there is no way I could cook a different meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day with no tempting leftovers. It's also been eye opening to see what portions should look like. I know I've eaten healthy, properly proportioned meals I've prepared myself before, but I seem to lose sight of portion sizes completely when I fall off the wagon! Anyway, they are really helping me for now. My plan is to do it while I can afford it, then wean myself off and back onto cooking for one having made peace with portions once again.
Today's meals are:
Egg white omelet with spinach and broccoli; strawberries; yogurt
Turkey club wrap; veggies/dip; almonds
Snack: light cheese & crackers
Beef medallions; stuffed tomato; sugar snap peas
As for excercise, since I was here last I got two dogs!! Golden Retrievers. One I got as a puppy, the other I got as a rescue since they seem so happy having another dog around. That means lots of walks and play time. I also have a treadmill now and that has been very helpful too, since the treadmill doesn't stop to sniff every tree. :D

The housework is done - or at least as done as it's going to get this weekend. There's a couple of things that look a little messy, but that's OK. I can live with that. Dinner is in the slow cooker, so all I need to do is some veggies later on. I have also been for a swim, so I feel absolutely no shame in vegging out for the rest of the day. Does that sound reasonable? I think it does!
Went to the gym yesterday, and somewhere between home and the gym I've lost my cashflow card, so I didn't end up doing a spin class. That's probably not a bad thing - the power went out about 15 minutes after I got to the gym, so there wasn't a lot happening in the classes! The cross trainer and the rower and the bike still worked, even if the treadmills didn't, so I got a decent workout on those. Anyway, I've reported that I've lost my card to the bank, so they've put a stop on it and I'll get a replacement sent to me within a couple of working days. Silly thing to do, really - I now have to try and get to the bank on Monday after work before it closes which will be a battle.
And I passed a scale milestone this morning - 229 pounds. I'm out of the 230s, yay! I'm not going to say I'll never see 230 again, but it's nice to break through that barrier. And to know that the next time that middle number changes, I'll be out of triple figures as far as my weight in kilos goes - 100 kgs = approx 221 lbs!
Jab, I'm sure it wouldn't be too bad, and in any case you're only talking about one instance. These things happen and as long as it doesn't become a regular thing, you'll be fine.

CC, yay, you found us again! There's still a few faces around as you can see - Laurie Dawn was around briefly when I first came back, but there's still a few missing. Laurie, Rakel, if you're lurking, we'd love to hear from you! Anyway, sounds like the delivery service is working for you, which is fantastic!

Well on the up side of things I'm pleased with my food intake.
I confess to having a moment yesterday. I had driven into town and passed my old motorcycle on the road which made my chin start to quiver and I was flooded with all this emotion (I had to give up riding because of nerve damage and it has been horrendously hard as this is my first full season without a bike in atleast 10 yrs. Riding was truly my salvation when it came to sanity).
Anyway as I'm trying to not think about it and get a grip I realize I am up town and driving past all the fast food places. I had this really strong urge to stop at Dairy Queen or McDonalds for something. My mind was trying to rationalize well summer isn't complete without atleast one dq.
I know I'm a stress queen and I know that I stress eat but had never really seen it happen before my eyes. It was within minutes of being upset, like a baby needing a pacifier. How sad is that !!! I guess I should be happy this time I recognized it before it happened instead of half way into it....
I'm happy to say I did NOT stop and get anything to eat. I kept driving. Wiped my tears away and finished my errands but not with the same happy mood I had started off in.
Later that evening I stopped at the clubhouse and visited with friends but only stayed briefly, instead of the normal weekend camp out. The last two motorcycles I have owned were on the property and there was a huge buffet and grill going on. I thought it best to run home. Had a good cry, once I was alone.

10 small ff pretzel sticks
Soooooooooooo to make a long story short while it was a tough day I think I managed to stay op and make it to another day.

Hi everyone! I'll get caught up tomorrow, but just wanted to pop in to say we're back!!! The wedding was so beautiful! The weather cooperated and they had it outside, like the bride and groom wanted. It was SO much fun! I think the dogs are disappointed that we are home....they were walking around like they owned the hotel! LOL!!
I did LOTS of walking w/ the dogs, BUT unfortunately, I ate way, way, way too much. I did eat lots of good stuff, but there were plenty of not so good decisions too. It's ok. I went to the grocery store when we came home. We have lots of healty food in the house. MJ is back on track!!
