WOW, Haven, your results are awesome! What are you doing? Just 30 day shred or what? My body is very similar to your "before" so this is relevant to my interests :o

Haven

i'm not doing the 30 day shred necessarily, but my workouts consist of morning cardio on an empty stomach and weight training in the evening. it working out great in terms of fat loss, muscle gain.

diet is high protein. don't cut out carbs, you'll function and feel great when you have carbs in you, just limit, don't cut out necessarily but limit simple carbs, keep them complex like oatmeal, sweet potatoes, ect. try to cut out all carbs towards end of the day. my last meal of the day is a protein shake.

supplements include:
whey protein
green tea
fish oil(we don't get this kind of fat in our diet as much as omega 6s, fats are need for body to function at optimal level)
multivitamin

WOW! look at that flat stomach! You have made such incredible progress in six short weeks. what is your weight training routine/how much cardio are you doing/how many calories a day? haha, sorry to pick your brain, but I'd kill for those results!~

Don't you worry about those little rolls you were pinching. Some of that is just skin.

You look great! I"m so jealous of you. I tried to stick to a healthy eating regime and I totally just binged. I blogged about it here: loveyourbodysize.com I"m doing my best to recover. Sigh.

Haven thanks for the tip. I'm doing cardio on empty and weight training after a pre-workout balanced meal.

what type of cardio do you usually do? I use a stationary. I have a considerable longer journey than you to my goal too...

congratulations again and thanks for sharing!

my cardio is on the treadmill usually. i put the incline at 8-15 and the speed depends on how pumped i'm feeling that day. i also run around the neighborhood, or walk briskly sometimes. i do cardio from DVDs i have if i cant make it to the gym.

good job on the weight lifting. make sure you lift as heavy as you can. lifting light weights is pretty much useless. there is no such thing as "toning". there is only muscle and fat. and the quickest way to build muscle to lift really heavy and eat enough support their growth. protein is the building blocks of muscle so make sure you get plenty. eat protein or have a protein shake after lifting as well to support muscle growth. the more muscle mass, the more calories you burn, the more fat you lose and you'll look "toned".

stay consistent. i also recommend you do some reading on the relationship between weight loss and insulin. basically eat natural whole foods. limit process stuff. we've all heard that one before, well i finally listened.lol

You are looking quite fabulous. Excellent job & amazing progress.

Can I ask you, how many pounds you've lost? If you've mentioned it and I missed it, I apologize. I'm so curious - what made you pick "12 weeks" and what happens AFTER week 12?

Anyway, you're doing a spectacular job and thank you for sharing your journey, it's been fun to watch. :)

so about 22 pounds lost so far. its a good rate, not too fast. i've just lost smartly this time, not water, not muscle, but fat.

lol, 12 weeks just seemed to be popular and all so i wanted to make a lifestyle change within 12 weeks, and so i have.:dizzy:

well week 11 is almost here, and its almost over. it went faster than i thought.

I am inspired by lots of folks on this site, but it was particularly amazing to see you *before* and your progress to *now*!!

We are the same height and started @ approximately the same body fat % ... If I look like you do @ 142, then that would be my new goal! (I did *not* look that good @ 142!!! for sure higher body fat)

Anyway, thank you, thank you for the visual demonstration of how much body fat affects your overall look!! You rock!
