Hey folks! My weekend was OP despite a (still) raging sinus infection. I've spent a lot of time with my face on a heating pad. But hey, at least the scale is looking positive.

Planning for tomorrow.

B - Egg whites scrambled with veggies and leftover chicken, plus a whole wheat mini bagel (great breakfast find...I always want bread, but don't want a ton of calories...70 calorie mini whole wheat bagels fill that void perfectly!)
S - Frozen Grapes
L - Leftover roast chicken breast,
S - Greek yogurt and strawberries
D - Roasted Pork Tenderloin with chunky tomato sauce, served over polenta with a side of green beans and sugar snaps.
S - NSA Ice Cream Bar

E - 60 min cardio, 30 min yoga

Amanda, I really hope you get well soon! You've been sick a long time now!

I'm afraid I might be coming down with something. Yesterday I had a sore throat and a headache, and this morning I was really tired and still had a headache. I think it might just be allergies though because I had so many flowers in the house for the mother's day brunch.

Catching up on the weekend:

Saturday:
B - multigrain cheerios, skim milk
L - volumetrics chili
S - fruit salad, chicken (while madly preparing stuff for the brunch the next day), a couple sips of prosecco
S - 4-5 cheese squares, 2 crackers, handful of grapes (at symphony, I didn't have time for dinner before we left)
"D" - I put it in quotes because we ate at midnight after getting home -- pasta, sauce, parmesan
E - ran 5k in the morning

Sunday:
B - raisin bran, banana, skim milk
L - 2 scones, fruit salad, lf yogurt, lf granola, breakfast casserole, fruit gelee
D - thai chicken salad, 2 spinach pancakes
S - cup of hot tea with about 1 tsp half and half
E - just all the time I spent cleaning up before our brunch

Okay, and today's plan:
Monday:
B - raisin bran, strawberries, skim milk
S - banana
L - volumetrics stuffed pepper, thai chicken salad
S - tangelo, yogurt, fruit salad
D - pasta, mix of sauce, veggies, chicken, parmesan, roasted asparagus
E - bootcamp

So-so weekend. Food was fine, portions were, um, not so fine.

B - oatmeal w/skim milk, .5 oz walnuts, tbsp craisins; 1/2 pear; 1/2 ww eng muffin with whipped cream cheese
S - ff latte
L - salad with black beans, 1/4 avocado, topped with salsa, lf sour cream
S - apple, blueberry yogurt (not together!) ETA: ate the yogurt, skipped the apple and since when I added this up I was way under calorie wise, I had a child sized soft ice cream before my bike ride - in honor of the :sunny: you know! :)
D - chicken stir fry, rice

Exercise: short bike ride. My butt was the limiting factor, but I'll never get it "in condition" if I don't start now!

Saturday

B – Trader Joe’s fat free Greek yogurt with honey, 6 oz blackberries

L – Big asian salad – greens, shredded carrot, grilled chicken, mandarin oranges, sliced water chestnuts, a few cashews, a few crunchy wontons, purple cabbage, Spicy Asian Peanut Vinaigrette

S – mango

S – 2 Wasa crackers, laughing cow cheese

D – went to our friends for a dinner party. I had…1.5 pieces of bread, 2 glasses of wine, some kind of festive sangria/orange punch, 1 piece of beef wellington (SO GOOD), small scoop of home made mashed potatoes with tons of garlic, salad (candied walnut, greens, shredded carrots, orange flavored cranberries, Trader Joes’ cranberry gorgonzola dressing). For dessert, I had one piece of home made chocolate cake with home made whipped cream and candied orange peel (I made the cake, brought the bread, wine and salad). Oh and a cappuccino with the cake.

I was very full.

Sunday

B – Trader Joe’s fat free Greek yogurt with honey, 6 oz blackberries

L – leftover salad from the dinner party (walnuts got kind of squishy, but still good). I added chicken.

S – orange

S – 2 Wasa crackers, laughing cow cheese

D – some weird chicken chile verde I got from Trader Joe’s. I thought it would be more chunks of chicken, but it was really liquidy. I ate it with some shredded low fat cheese, diced red onions, salsa, a little low fat sour cream, 3 whole wheat tortillas. Not a winner, won’t buy again.

Monday

B – Trader Joe’s fat free Greek yogurt with honey, 6 oz blackberries

L – saw Star Trek instead of going grocery shopping Sunday night (oops!) so got some soup from downstairs with a roll.

S – cup of red grapes

S – string cheese

D – lean turkey tacos, 3 white corn shells (60 calories each), romaine, salsa, low fat cheese, low fat sour cream, roma tomato

Monday was perfectly on plan - yay me!

Tuesday

B – Trader Joe’s fat free Greek yogurt with honey, 6 oz blackberries

L - big taco salad with leftover spicy lean turkey from Monday night's tacos. Romaine, grape tomatoes, salsa, a little roasted corn, red cabbage, tortilla strips for crunch, maybe a little low fat cheese (haven't decided)

S - tangelo

S - string cheese

D - BBQ chicken, roasted brussel sprouts, sweet potato

*edit* I had a cappucino from our fancy new coffee machine at work. I sweetened it with splenda - NO idea how many calories were in it (the package said it was made with skim milk, who knows?). I had a pretty low cal day, not going to sweat it. May have another one tomorrow!

POP, and man, my pork was kind of incredible (er, not to toot my own horn or anything. But MMMMM).

B - Egg beaters w/ bell pepper, broccoli, and chicken, toasted mini bagel (post doc appt at 9am to see if I need something for this sinus crud).
S - Frozen Grapes
L - Leftover roasted pork with tomato-balsamic sauce over polenta rounds, with a side of sugar peas and green beans with lemon zest.
S - Popcorn
D - Casserole - FiberGourmet pasta with chicken breast, broccoli, bell pepper, zucchini, and a light garlic lemon sauce, topped with WW panko and baked.
S - NSA Ice Cream, Strawberries

Got in my run yesterday, 3.5 miles. I didn't go as far as I wanted - the wind picked up and was blowing flowers and pollen in my face and it got pretty chilly and overcast. Ended up not eating dinner at all...

Today:
E: changed to 10 minute ab video, 40 minutes elliptical HIIT

S: string cheese, apple
L: grilled chicken salad - hope to have time to eat before seminar so I don't give in to the snacks they provide
S: kashi go lean
S: yogurt

Yesterday was POP, at least calorie wise. A small soft ice cream was probably not a great choice nutritionally, but just right for the sunshine. :)

B - 2 eggs; 1/2 ww eng muff with whipped cream cheese
S - darn - just realized I forgot my yogurt :( Fortunately I have Luna bar in my desk
L - large salad with black beans, avocado, topped with lf sour cream, salsa

I have a confirmed sinus infection, and an ear infection. It's not exactly good news (and the antibiotic my doc prescribed is the one that invariably makes me nauseous and grumpy) but at least now I have answers and treatment that'll make me feel better in short order. Which is good, because I am REALLY done with this head crud! On a more positive note, I freaking love my doc's office...9am appt, seeing the doc at 9:02, out the door at 9:07with my prescription wired to my pharmacy. They're almost as efficient as I am, and that is saying a lot.

Any 3FCer in the area is welcome for dinner at my house. I'll make the pork. Mmm.

You aren't that far away... :)

I had a lousy sinus infection a couple of months ago and I swear the cure was almost as bad. Do you take probiotics? The antibotics completely wrecked my stomach and gave me a yeast infection too! I started taking 2 huge tablespoons of probiotics (picked it up at the health food store) and everything was back to normal in 2 days. Evil antibiotics!

Glory, I'm in! I'll bring some wine too, we can all be winos together (maybe we can do some bicep curls with our bottles?) Amanda and Robin, what are you cooking for us? :D

Mmm, Amanda, I just printed out that pork recipe. It looks divine!

I'm here, I'm here! Just been busy/away from computer. Food's been 95% there the last few days, just having a teensy bit of trouble with eating granola bars at night. Just need to get that under control. Exercise has been good - I was actually really excited to get to the gym and do my chest workout Monday. I haven't been excited to go to the gym in a few weeks!

Wed
B - protein pancake, 1/2 tbsp jam, 1 c. skim milk, coffee w/ 1 tbsp h&h
S - 1 1/2 c. diced pineapple
L - 3 oz. tuna mixed into 1 1/4 c. bean salsa
Snacks - 2 cups cut up carrots & celery, 6 oz. lowfat yogurt, 1 hard-boiled egg, 2 kiwis

B: smoothie, :coffee2:
S: string cheese, apple
L: grilled chicken salad

S: Mayfield 100 calorie frozen yogurt/orange cream bar

Last night's roasted vegetable pesto pizza was wonderful. So chock full of veggies! I ate only one slice. At first I thought I'd be allowed two, but on closer inspection of the recipe it said it served 6. So I sliced it in 6 slices, took one, gave 2 to DH and 3 to DS. My thoughts are that if I were to do this on a thinner crust (instead of a Boboli) I could probably have 2 slices.

E~30 minutes treadmill
B~egg white burrito (200)
S~hard boiled egg? (100)
L~chicken, rice and beans entree (300) apple (100)

Friday's plan:

B - protein pancake, 1/2 tbsp jam, 1 c. skim milk, coffee w/ 1 tbsp h&h
S - small banana
L - 3 oz. tuna mixed into 1 1/4 c. bean salsa
Snacks - 2 cups cut up carrots & celery, 6 oz. lowfat yogurt, hard boiled egg, 1 1/2 cups diced pineapple
D - Not sure. I have some chicken breasts thawing, and will either cook those for dinner, or cook them for a few lunches over the next few days if I end up doing something else. BF's sis & BIL surprised us last night, so we might end up doing something with them. If we cook at my house of course it will be healthy. If we eat out or elsewhere, I will eat healthily there too!

Bf's family coming into town is always an obstacle health-wise, so that's my obstacle to overcome this weekend! I won't drink alcohol, period, will get up early to get my exercise in, and will always carry healthy snacks so I don't end up hungry anywhere.

Oh, edited to add that yesterday was OP. I got really upset over something at work, but did not give in to the Snickers temptation sitting by the coffee maker or get a milkshake from a fast food place, and stayed OP, so giving myself a pat on the back and moving onto today!

Yesterday I had a hard boiled egg planned for my morning snack, but ended up not eating that, so we did have eggs for dinner. I now realize what my binge food is. Not that I really binge on it, but I can't stop stealing bites while cooking. Anyway, that food? Cheese. Mostly shredded cheese. Specifically Sargento Mexican cheese blend. I must have stuffed 6 pinches of that while cooking my eggs (and then added some to the eggs). I'm sure that packed on a few calories to my otherwise OP day.

E~none. I didn't want to get up--I woke up with a strange sinus headache right behind my eyes. Thankfully it is going away.

Mexican Beef and Bean Bake (Picture a lasagna, but with zucchini slices instead of noodles, bell pepper, jalapeno, and onion cooked in with the ground beef, and mashed cooked pinto beans instead of sauce),

So do you layer this like lasagna and bake it? What's on top?

Yesterday was pretty much OP, and within my calorie range. I'm having a little alcohol-free time as I was having too many evenings where a glass of wine for dinner "sounded good." I can't afford that - not the calories, particularly, but the fact that I eat more when I drink. It's back to a special occasion food. It helps that there's none in the house except some weird stuff someone gave us, and 2 cases of the Pinot Noir we made at the winery, but that's in the basement aging.....

B - cheerios with skim, walnuts; ww toast; :coffee:
S - ff latte
L - salad of some sort. It's my lunch out with GFs, but everyplace we go offers a big salad
S - blueberry yogurt, HB egg, cottage cheese with pineapple, apple (these are the choices, I won't eat them all)
D - left over dirty rice, some sort of veg

Ex: tonight our square dance club is doing an exhibition dance at the Relay for Life - should be interesting as right now it's pouring rain! Supposed to clear by tonight - I hope they're right.

Yep, it's layered like a lasagna (zucchini layer, bean layer, meat and veggie layer, repeat), and I usually sprinkle half a cup or so of reduced fat cheddar on the top. Serve it with a dollop of FF or LF sour cream. It's really very satisfying for a Mexican food craving.

Pat, wine is so tempting. We recently bought a case (12 bottles) of white wine, but so far it's all sitting down in the basement. Except for the bottle of prosecco I used up in the dessert recipe for mother's day, but that doesn't count. Our local wine shop has a great selection and they give you a discount if you buy a whole case, so it's better to be stocked up, especially since here in Indiana you can't buy wine on Sundays!

Friday:
B - raisin bran, strawberries, skim milk
S - apple
L - @work meeting, Panera - smoked turkey sandwich (1/2), cafe classic salad w/a couple slices of chicken and lf vinaigrette, piece of baguette
S - tangelo
D - mediterranean veggie sandwich, slice of oat bran brad, 3 egg whites scrambled, little bit of butter
S - BLT's of the dessert I was making for cooking club :o

Went a little crazy with the sushi and then had a kiddie size chocolate dip cone from Dairy Queen.

My salad last night was interesting. I'd really never think to combine bulgar, chicken, artichoke hearts and tomatoes. But it was good. I was so full from lunch that I only had a small portion and leftovers will be for my lunch today. Good to keep the calorie count low.

E~still pondering this one...45 minutes on the treadmill?
B~hard boiled egg
S~nothing--will be at the store stocking up on tons of veggies for next week's OP meals
L~leftover bulgar/chicken salad
S~not sure. We might go see Angels & Demons.
D~chicken ruben sandwiches with veggies on the side

That salad sounds awesome - I love bulgar and haven't eaten it in ages.

OK, so here's my day.

Last night, Sarah comes home and says "The car is acting funny". It just got out of the shop for an oil change, brake fluid change, and battery replacement. There's a strange smell, and it "drove weirdly". We drive it again, Sarah gets convinced that it's fine and she's overreacting.

Today, as soon as it gets hot, the car acts weird again, with only me driving. So I have to take a bus to the airport (no rental car agencies open ANYWHERE else that have cars available), rent a rental car, and drive home.

And it's literally my least favorite car in the world, and the only other thing they could trade me for was a MASSIVE SUV with horrible gas mileage.

So exercise was walking around the airport area, and walking to catch the bus. It's HOT out there!
