Alright Ladies the 4th of July is 8 weeks away! I for one will be in Sunny California home of the pretty people for the 4th. I would love to watch those fireworks blast off being 20lbs lighter! Or 2 dress sizes smaller! Whichever comes first.

Now 2lbs a week for 8 weeks is 16lbs. So I'm making my self kick into high gear for those extra 4 lbs.

There are also 56 Days in those 8 weeks, So I'm making a workout goal of 50 hours of activity. That gives me 6 days of rest before the 4th. Now this is ANY activity, swimming, walking, work outs at the gym, sexy time (Wink Wink). So feel free to jump on that workout goal if you don't feel the weight loss goal is realistic for you.

So if you are with me sign in. Will do a weigh in every Sunday. Feel free to log your workout hours daily to keep your spirits up! Good Luck!

Today I walked 1.5 hours instead of taking the bus back into my part of town. I did 15 mins of cardio in the morning.

My goals might be a bit more modest than yours, so how does this work? Do we state our goals, then log in weekly??? I will commit to 50 hours of exercise (total, to July 4th!) but for weight, I would like 5 lbs a month as I am a TOTAL. COMPLETE. SNAIL...
Will this be OK?

Also for how this works.

Since you ladies have tickers you could make a Challenge Ticker for the workout hours. :)

As for the weight loss, we just post our weigh ins once a week on Sunday to show our progress! Yippie!!! :cheer:

I promise faithfully that I will stick to my plan while I'm away, this is not a game I can get off for a couple of weeks but a permanent lifestyle change, but it may be difficult to be certain of the calories in what I'm eating.

I have never done a challenge either but I would love to join you guys! I will commit to 50 hours of exercise and I would LOVE to lose 20 pounds by then. I know I will see a lot of family that I haven't seen in a while on the 4th and I would feel SOOO much better being 20 pounds lighter. How do we post our weekly weigh in? Oh and I got my first 1hr of my 50 done this morning between the hours of 4:30am and 5:30am...with the hubby :val2:

I would love to lose 20 by then we are having a big family get together at the end of July, with family photos YUCK!! so 20lbs would look fab. Going to try but not going to let it get me down if I don't make it.

I will also be visiting with my in-laws Fourth of July. Also, my baby's very FIRST birthday is July 12, so being a few pounds lighter would be a bonus. :D

I am going to go for broke...I think I am also going to take this challenge one more week, to his first birthday: 20 pounds. That is just over 2 pounds a week (if you go 9 weeks) or 2.5 pounds a week if I end at July 4th.

OMG girls! I need some support!

I got on the scale this morning and it said 237! I thought I was about 225...I am almost doubting the scale because I was JUST 225 like a month ago, seriously 12lbs?? added on? OMG My cloths are still fitting...WHAT THE ****!

Either way I hope I'm filled with alot of water weight because I'm watching ALL my calories as of TODAY and I'm working out every day as of TODAY! OMG I'm freaking out!

Hey Gaea, I have a digiatal scale, this morning I gained 50lbs in the last 24 hrs! I knew this was an error, but still seeing that number almost made me faint. Needless to say I need to get a new battery. If yours is digital, you may need to check yours.

Absolutely, ScarletMeShell (cute name!) because the more, the merrier! I like challenges because they let me focus on short-term goals and smallish amounts of weight loss instead of the sometimes overwhelming big number I want to eventually lose.

I hope you are finding the 100+ board to be as informative and supportive as I do. I look forward to reading more about your journey and the positive changes you are making in your life. Race you to the Fourth Of July! :)

Ok so far today I have been VERY healthy and have eaten 820 calories total with breakfast, snack #1, Lunch, and snack #2...I still have dinner to go! Which will be around 400cals. So I am just over 1,200!

I want to make a go at it too! I'm starting today at 195 lbs. and I want to lose 11 pounds which averages to about 1.5 lbs. a week. It would put me down to 184.

I also would like to add a fitness goal of working out for a total of 31 days (which averages to roughly 4-5 days a week). I'm going to print out a calendar and mark off each day that I worked out starting with today!!

Woot! I checked on the scale everything on dead on. So I had to suck up and deal with the 237...but I'm DOWN 5lbs, 232lbs This morning! Thank you God for water weight and the strength, and enjoy it gives to someone trying to lose weight! I'm drinking tons of water and eating 1,200-1,500 calories a day and working out at Curves! Go Gaea, keep Going don't given in keep going!!!!!!!

Okay, this is totally working. I dragged myself to work out at 9:30 tonight, because I committed to an hour a day and I didn't want to fall behind on my second day. I'm really pleased with my stick-to-it-ness right now.

Going in the right direction! I worked out 5 days last week (which is a BIG deal for me!) My goal was to work out 31 days between the start of this challenge and July 4th and so far I've logged 8 in a week and a half. Didn't work out today though, stomach feels a little icky and had some diarrhea but hopefully it's simply something I ate (had quite a BBQ binge yesterday and boy did my stomach feel like crap last night!). I'll be back in the gym tomorrow!

I am very excited about the pounds lost, but for me the most exciting thing was I went out of town with friends this weekend, brought my own snacks ate out for dinner, staid on plan, and absolutley enjoyed my food. It was such a wonderful feeling, to be honest I was scared to go.
Also, hmm not sure how to put this.... I have a belly that hangs down, like over my underwear, and I realized this weekend it wasn't!!!! OMG! I am sorry if this was not appropriate to say but does make me happy

When I started, I had a pair of jeans I could not get over my hips, then I had to lay down to zip them, then I could stand up to zip them but still couldnt sit down in them! haha! ARGH! I've only lost about 3 lbs. in the past 4 weeks. I'm eating the same but I started exercising a lot and last time I started fairly heavy regular exercise I stopped losing weight as well so I think that's what it is. Unfortunately my measuring tape says I haven't lost any inches either but I know I'm getting it better shape, I can lift heavier weights and last longer on the machines at the gym so I'm feeling good about that. The good news is my exercise goal is very close to target (only the tiniest bit behind), I've logged 15 days so far which leaves 16 days left between now and July 4th!

Hope everyone else is chipping away at their 7/4/09 goals!

My initial goal was a little unrealistic, I realize (16 lbs in 8 weeks just doesn't happen for me!). But I've lost 5 so far, and I'll be happy if I can keep up that rate!

Hi there!

Today 5/10/09 : 180.5 lbs

5/17/09 : 177.5 lbs

5/24/09 : 179.0 lbs EEEEk! Back from 1 wk in PerogyVille (mom/dad's place)

5/31/09 : 178.5 lbs SNAIL pace! Oh well, at least the exercise is on point...

6/7/09 : 176.0 lbs! CRAWLING along...

6/14/09 : 176.5 lbs...I could sure use some encouragment, here...:( But exercise is ahead of goal :)

I've re-jigged my goal. It had been a stone, 14lbs, taking me to 172; but bearing in mind my pre-Spain decision to try to maintain a 1lb a week average, I've re-set it to 182.
