Because so many had negative feelings about a lot of the things written in the "Surgery for Weight Loss" thread, let us start a new POSITIVE thread. I have not had the surgery by my DH Alvin has and it was a very hard tough decision to make to decide to have the surgery, and to go through all the steps and processes to make it become a fact. All in all he spent a total of 2 years from the time his PCP told hime he HAD to have the surgery and the time the operation was preformed.

He was one of the lucky ones. He had no problems with the surgery or in his recovery. He does have problems living with the effects of the surgery. And I am effected also.

Thank's to Ms Jim for moving the original thread, and let make this a real supportive thread.

and many thanks to you as well, barb, for sending emails to all concerned.

it's no secret that i've had the surgery, and done well with it. and i hope that as we go along people will understand the reasons for this. and realize that we we not lazy, we watched what we ate, we exercised, and followed all the other 'normal rules.' all i've ever wanted to do was to find some rules i could follow that would actually work, and this has worked.

it's not easy,

and i hope people will ask questions and answer with kindness.
