Well I have been out of touch and off the wagon now for way to long, so Monday is the big day for me this month the moment when I weight in and see the horrible truth! But what better way to motivate?

I like the thought of the challenge of the 50lbs loss this month and I know us chickies can do it! We are a determined bunch when we set our minds to it.

I am going to try something a bit different for me, or I should say just a different set of foods. still going to eat plenty of veggies but going to add a bit of bread (I have been baking you see) I have been using high fiber whole wheat flour so that should help.

Now if I can just get back into the exercise thing again...I need some new indoor suggestions as it is still wet here most of the time and I am not real keen on splashing through the puddles for the sake of exercise...any and all suggestions are welcome

Hi Nancy... I'm back... I haven't technically lost any weight since the last time I was here, (February) so here I am, ready to try again. We are planning on TTC starting in July, and it is definitely about to be swimming weather, so NOW is the time to lose some weight! I will get down to 165 soon! (That is what I weighed when I got pregnant with my first over 3 years ago - and I had about 30 lbs to lose THEN) I haven't been under 167 since January of 2006, so May of 2009 sounds like a fabulous time to head that direction... And if I can get to 150 before I get pregnant again, there will be a freakin' PARTY at my house. :) I am committed! I just have to remember that there are no "special occasions" that constitute breaking out of my points right now!

Welcome back sara! I did weigh myself and really was not suprised. I just adjusted my ticker too. I have gained 8 pounds since Jan and my clothes feel it.

I printed a new food journal this morning and put my points in for the wendie plan that seemed to work better for me than using points and flex. we will see I may flip flop between the two each week.

My first new goal is to hit 149...something about that number. So here I go

Hi, Nancy! Count me in. I'm working on getting down to 170 hopefully this summer but would love to find 179 this month.
Hi, Sara!
Good luck you will find lots of support here! BTW we know each other from BID 2007. I'm Lena's mom! same name there as well.

Going well so far - I managed to stay OP yesterday, and even calculated the points in the Chicken Tetrazzini that I made (with a few substitutions to help that fat content). I had a good 45 minute walk, too, and now I am ready to stay OP all day today as well! How is everyone else feeling this morning?

I'm not sure which is more riduculous: that a Snickers bar is 6 points, or that I ate it anyway... Now what shall I do with my 3-4 points I have left at 2:30 in the afternoon? Sigh.

A nice low point soup? With a low point sandwich.....

We like 100 calorie english muffins, split and made into mini pizzas
Muffin 1
pizza sauce 1
Cheese 1
canadian bacon 1
total of 4 and then a few zero point veggies....yum

Um... so I opted for sunflor and pumpkin seeds attached to melted chocolate chips, and a few bites of my kids' cheese and tortilla. LOSER evening. But somehow I was blessed to not feel hungry later on (and to be too busy - though I did manage to bring home a LOT of groceries on my 10 pm shopping trip... maybe I WAS hungry?) and never even really ate dinner after that. And I got to watch my favorite - Biggest Loser, which motivated me to NOT eat anything, since I didn't actually feel hungry, even though I hadn't technically had dinner... So I was only at 30 pts for the day, even after messing up (twice!) Yay! Doin okay today - cantaloupe, banana, and 2/3 of a cinnamon nutri grain eggo, plus some chex mix for a snack. (that wasn't planned, but I did make sure I counted the points in) Lunch in a while. Had a fabulous pilates class this morning, and hoping to get a walk in later, maybe? Hope everyone's having a good day!

well yesterday was a good day but no exercise worked late, then worked more when I got home...today points wise went a bit over, had one of those I was really hungry mornings and ate two breakfasts LOL

Looks like ctrsara and cirara you both are doing great..don't let the little slip ups get you

Tomorrow will be a great day...did I say I was doing the wendie plan? oh well if I didn't tomorrow is suppose to be my high day but I will play it by ear. I am planning a new dinner recipe I found for spicy shrimp cesaer salad but I need to figure up the points since it uses anchovys and and all I have is anchovy paste. the lettuce, shrimp, spices and a corn tortilla will be easy to calculate.
found it on pbs everyday food..they actually had some really good ones I want to try

"2/3 of an eggo"
Toddler help..... Sounds like my eating plan. My little one loves to help eat my skinny cow ice cream sandwiches.....yum

We went to a Hungry Girl book signing last night in Dallas. Had a great time for awhile but tried to take the toddler. DH tried to take her downstairs and look at books..... She was crying for me, people looking at him funny so he brought her to me and then she would not stay in line without a major meltdown.... So i left without a signature. Oh well. I did get to try vitamuffins. YUMMY! must find those.
I also received an email to get a coupon for a free 2 piece grilled chicken dinner at KFC. The news said it caused a wild time for KFC yesterday so I will wait a few days before even trying to give it a try. Looking forward to finding another healthy choice to try while out. And getting to try it for free, well that is even better.
I love this time of the year. I am enjoying so many seasonal fruits (watermelon, cantelope, etc). I think I will see if the local orchard is open yet and check on some fresh peaches..... I think I may be a few weeks early but they have so many tasty varieties there.
My work slacks were a little looser yesterday. Hoping that means I will see a loss this week. At least it helped me feel like it might be a possibility.
Eating was reasonably good yesterday. We went out after the book signing for Mexican food, so my WPA is pretty much gone, but that is what they are for.

nancylmrn
05-07-2009, 11:48 AM
Ciarra sounds like you had quite a day! And to have your clothes feel loser whoo hoo!
Another good choice while you are running about would be a 6" veggie sandwitch at subway...minus the cheese 5pts..it can be a life saver. Also if you like cucumber rolls? 12 small ones only 4pts -- very filling.

Tonight I am going to try a new receipe I found on pbs everyday food. spicy shrimp cesear salad. I still need to add up the points for the dressing.

My point goal yesterday was 22 and I ate 29 whoops so being on the wendie plan today was to be my really high day so I took the extra points off of it. I can only hope I drop a bit this week -- Monday will tell

Not doing too hot today, but hanging in there. Yesterday wasn't amazing either, but I haven't stopped counting once this week. I like how when you're "on" plan, your "bad days" are so much better than any other day (eating-wise) when you're not paying attention. At least that's true for me!

nancylmrn
05-07-2009, 07:52 PM
csara, I know what you mean about bad days and good. Even a bad day recorded does not get totally out of hand but if I stop writing oh boy look out...guess that is why I gained again or gained the past 2 months

May is a new month hehe

Hey Guys!
I wanted to share something I have figured out. If you get any regular cake mix and prepare it with applesauce instead of oil and egg beaters instead of eggs and its only 2 points each if you make 24 cupcakes. MMMMMM! So good!!! Well I only lost one pound this week but I hope it picks up this week. I have been skipping breakfast and I need to getback in the habit.

Hi Everyone! I'm back after being away for almost 2 months. I have not done well and I really need to get back on track.

chelley123 - I saw your post on making a cake mix with applesauce and eggbeaters being only 2 points. Is that with or without icing?

well chickies I am gearing up to start anew...but I am going to try and follow the core plan at home. Can any of you give me the guidelines? I have the list and realize it is free of processed foods, that I should eat until satisfied but is there a limit? portion sizes? is that all taken in account?????

nancylmrn
05-16-2009, 11:46 PM
well today I started by going through my ww cookbooks and low fat cooking ones and compairing recipes with the core list...looks like I am going to be trying some new stuff....but will have to start the new cooking tomorrow after grocery shopping for some of it

I think I will be fine doing core...just have to go easy on the bread and wine LOL but I can do it

How is everyone else doing...you all must have spring fever and out walking hehe

I am working on getting back on track too. Today I walked 1.5 miles and I'm keeping track of my food. I also tracked my food for tomorrow. I find for myself if I figure out my meals ahead of time it is easier to stay on plan. My goal is to exercise 5 days a week and work hard at staying on plan.

05-17-2009, 06:04 PM
ok today I have made chicken chili and it tasted pretty good! so I am going to pack that up for lunch a few days next week. I am also waiting on some lentil and rice pilaf to finish cooking...it has a lot of onion, garlic and ginger in it but the rice does not seem to want to finish cooking...hmmm

now off to find some dinner recipes. I know tonight I am having turkey ham and corn on the cob then watermelon for dessert

tomorrow night be something with chicken breasts but I have lots of recipes for that

tue think dinner will have some type of shrimp in it

beyond that don't know yet

Hi Guys!
Sorry I haven't been on much lately. Things are crazy at work!! Anyway, good news, I lost 2.6 pounds this week. YAY!!!!!
O2B- The 2 points is 1/24 (! cupcake) without icing. I'm not a fan of icing, WAY too sweet for me :) On the Lifetime show Cook your self thin she has recipes for low cal icing
Nancy- I think you have the core plan pretty much in a nutshell. I think you just have to use your 35 WA points for anything not on the list.

nancylmrn
05-18-2009, 12:26 PM
Great job on the losses chickies!
As for me and the core plan I pretty much blew my flex points this weekend with wine but I am still on track
you know one of the things I hesitated about doing core is that you really could not have bread unless you used your flex points but I found a recipe that made bread with -- would you beleive cream of wheat???---it is a bit dry but tastes really good! unbleivible

I am looking forward to wi on sat. sun we are having a picnic so I know it will be a hard day for me

Way to go girls on the weight loss! I gained 1.8lbs this past week, but I knew I would be up. I fell by the wayside for awhile, but I'm getting back on track so next week I should be down.

chelley123 I've never watched the show on Lifetime. Does that show have a website you can check out or do you just go to lifetime.com?

Today was a beautiful day here in PA. I didn't get up for my walk this morning, but as soon as I got home from work tonight I changed my clothes and went for my walk. My body is still screaming at me, but no pain no gain. Right?!

Have a great evening.

Thanks Michelle - actually took your advice and on my lunch ran over to Boarders Books and bought one of the dvd's it has the 1, 2, & 3 mile walk and these weighted balls. I shut my office door and removed my shoes and did the one mile...it was fun and did not take long. Next week I hope to be up to the 2 mile walk

YAY!! Go Nancy!!! She is so awesome!! I have the Walk Slim Systems et of DVDs and I have worked up to the Fast 4 mile walk, It feels so good to be able to do it. I also love the one you got, did you have to fill your weighted balls with water? Mine looked like empty breast implants when I first got them, LOL.

nancylmrn
05-21-2009, 07:56 PM
LOL Michelle, those poor water weights were so pitiful! I did not get them filled all the way I have to work on it..but yesterday after I posted I did the two mile walk. Today I brought in some ankle weights (total 3lbs) and did the 3 mile walk....It was great. I am really getting into this, I even bought another dvd off ebay the one with the stretch bands? I am looking forward to tyring that one too....

Food wise last night I did not do so good but today was another day and so far am on track

Nancy & Shelley - I have tried the Walk Away the Pounds Videos, but didn't care for them. It could be because I wasn't focused on my weight loss like I am now. I think I still have some of them. I'll probably use them during the winter. Right now I have been getting up at 5:15 to walk every morning. I like to do it in the morning because it is cooler.

Keep up the good work Gals!

thats great Kathy that you can get up early and walk! I am already out of bed and nearly ready for work at 5:15. So if I wanted to walk in the am (and I am a morning person) would have to get up at 3:30...no thanks lol

as far as the walk away the pounds it is not as intense as I am use to that is why I added the ankle weights. I use to do the firm with the step and weights ranging from 3-10lbs and when I was really into it bwg (before weight gain) I was using 15 & 20lbs but those days are gone. This workout seems to fit right now and I don't have to worry about doing it at work during lunch..who knows maybe I will recruit a few co-workers

Today was a great day. I took the day off from work, but worked at home all day.

I had to go to the chiropractor today and he commented that it looked like I had lost weight since I was there 6 weeks ago. To say the least that made my day.

I didn't get a walk in today, but I did mow grass so that made up for not taking a walk. A made 2 batches of WW Banana oat muffins. They are so good!

I hope you all have a great holiday weekend.

Hi Everyone!

I trust you all are having a great weekend. I've been able to get a lot of things done that have been on the "to do list" for so long. The list is not wiped clean yet, but we'll get there.

This morning I did my measurements since I haven't done them for months and I was amazed at the inches I have lost all over. That has given me the encouragement that I needed to keep doing what I've been doing.

Today I took a walk then planted my garden and some flowers. It seems like I have more energy everyday.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone.

Kathy that all sounds so wonderful!
I did not get my excercise in per se yesterday but we did go on a day trip and did a bit of walking in the snow...there was one step I took that I sank down to my hip in the snow. It was so funny you should have seen me trying to climb out! Of couse I was in shorts and tennies LOL so snow went you know where :o

Today we are having a mini family picnic only 12 of us but still a decent gathering. So I am taking a pork loin to grill instead of the tradional foods along with a fresh ear of corn...

Maybe I will even talk the 'kids' into playing some fresbie?

catch up with you all later

Today I was able to get a 30 minute walk in and 15 minutes of weight lifting before I had to get readly for work. Once the kids are out of school for the summer I won't have to rush to get a shower because the kids need to get one too in the morning.

I've done well with my points. Today I did have 1 mini snickers for my "stress", but I warded off the rest of the stress munchies.

Well I had to stop at wal-mart last night and while I was there I crused down the exercise stuff. And the walk away the pounds 4 mile quck walk (?) anyway I bought it and tried it last night wow what fun. I think I am hooked on her. Anyway if I calculate it correctly it works out to about 5 activity pts for 50min for me.

Now those exercise pts will counter the glasses of wine I drank last night LOL

Hey great job Kathy on staying on track with your exercise! and that little snickers don't worry about it those are lifes little treats that we just have to have

I can't say I am any closer to my goal weight it really has taken me most of the month just to focus back on ww. The new exercise dvd's are helping I belive and I have recruited my daughter who does not always join but she has 5 days out of seven

I am really looking forward to weigh in on wednesday to see if walking away those pounds have done me much good. I feel like they have

:dizzy: ok one more day! Tomorrow we are getting adventurous and going to the horse races I have only been one time and that was about 20 years ago

Hi Everyone!

I have been on hiatus, but today is get back on the wagon day so I thought I'd start here before I even get out of bed.

I've been sick through the weekend & took a sick day today. I am feeling much better tho so that's good.

Things have been insane in my life & I have not been on plan forever. I don't think I had one on-plan day this month. Luckily for me when I get super stressed out I don't eat at all so I don't think I've gained any weight, but we'll find out for sure here in a minute when I weigh myself.........yikes. I'm kind of scared.

I have to get my health in check asap. It affects me mentally & physically when I am living and unhealthy lifestyle.

Here I go!! Day 1. I'm hoping you ladies will still be willing to support me because I owe a big chunk of my 40 lb loss earlier this year to y'all!

Jill

06-01-2009, 06:48 PM
YAY!!! We missed you Jill!! I'm so glad you are back on the wagon!!! I bet you didn't gain much if any because WW really gets you in a healthier mindset and teaches you to make better choices.

Well folks I lost 2.2 pounds for the week and boy am I happy!!! I feel like the losses are getting smaller and smaller lately. In part because I am being a little more lax and probably because I have less to lose now. But in order to jump start things I bought a bunch of frozen meals (i.e. Smart Ones, Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine) and I am going to have 1 for lunch and 1 for dinner each night. That way I can't fudge on portion size. Hopefully I will have a good week, although I ate at Pizza Hut for lunch and will probably end up using 17 WA points for today.
