I am currently on Medifast and have been for the past 2 months, however, for financial reasons I have to stop. One of the biggest things with Medifast is that you really aren't supposed to stop cold turkey or you could gain all your weight back. So I have the wonderful task of slowly bringing my calories and carbs back up to normal, and being a college student always on the run RTDs and bars are a necessity for me, but all of the non-medifast ones are LOADED with carbs, and I can't jack up my carb intake or I will be in big trouble. So I thought these would be a nice thing to incorporate in to my low cal/carb diet that I have to concoct on my own after stopping Medifast on Friday the 1st.

Anyone ever eat the Atkins Advantage/Endulge bars? Which ones are your favorite? Are the Advantage shakes any good? I usually drink SlimFast but it has a decent amount of carbs in it.

If anyone has any suggestions as to other brands of bars/shakes, by all means, list them!

Thanks in advance.

How about looking at powders? I really like Vega powder.

would powders be lower carb? the problem with those is mixing with milk. although i could use soy milk and see how they would turn out then.

I'm a WLS patient 18 months out and I eat the Atkins Advantage Caramel: cookie dough, caramel fudge brownie, caramel chocolate peanut naugat bars. They have around 17-19 grams of carbs. 8-10 grams of fiber, 1 sugar and 10-14 grams of protein. The Endulge Atkins I don't eat because has sugar alcohols and that is death for me. I also drink the Atkins drinks. It is about the only protein drink, besides the fruity ones that I can handle. Good Luck

EAS Advant Edge shakes are low carb and 17 g protein in their RTDs...and they taste pretty good!

It depends what you get on whether or not its low carb. I think Vega (my favorite) is considered a whole meal replacement and has carbs in it. It is designed to be mixed with water. (I don't drink dairy myself). Sometimes I'll mix it with almond milk (which is low carb).

Although those are what I like. I know there are other powders on the market as well. I like Vega because it is pretty high quality and has lots of good ingredients.

oh, cool. thanks. the product that i listed a link to is really low carb which is a plus (10g +5g of that being fiber). what is the taste of the smoothie infusion? is it just plain and it takes the flavor of whatever fruits/flavorings you might add?

Smoothie infusion is plainish... I can't remember exactly but yeah that one is meant to be mixed with other things to take on the flavor. I like strawberries with it.

Cool. I will look in to that. Unfortunately it seems I cannot buy it locally, and will have to order it offline.
