Yes, that was May I wrote in the thread title. Is this year flying by or what?

Anyway, it's been a good weekend. I went to dawn service which was lovely. I had to cringe at one woman standing next to me, though. She would have been my mother's age at a guess and she was wearing what I presume were her father's service medals from WWII - they were definitely WWII medals - on the left side of her chest, instead of the right side. Not sure if the tradition is the same in the US, but here you only wear medals on the left side of your chest if you earned them yourself, otherwise you wear them on the right side. Talk about a total protocol failure there! I mentioned it to my father who served in Vietnam and he told me I should have said something. Maybe, but discretion is the better part of valour.

Apart from that it was a quiet weekend - went to the gym on Sunday and ran into one of our managers there and we had a chat. Thankfully not my manager - that would've been a little bit too surreal. And I tried on an old pair of jeans to see how I was going - size 18 and I can do them up! They're a little too tight to be comfortable at the moment, but I'm not far away from fitting them.

And today was work again. Nothing unusual happened - just a normal day.

Rhonda, I think I do want the job. I don't want to get my hopes set too high too early, but I'll definitely go along for the ride. Hope the migrane eases soon.

Diane, he is a yummy trainer. There's a picture of him on the gym website - I'll post it one of these days! I'm pleased your son enjoyed the meet and improving has to be good, right?

MJ, hope you're feeling better soon!

Lixxi, go you with the portion control! That's quite a victory!

Beverly, I'm pleased to hear your mother's out of hospital. Hopefully they can put the surgery off till she's stronger.

Enjoy your Monday everyone!

Hi Chicks - I had a another sane, healthful food day yesterday. I am so grateful. :carrot:
Mom's doing better and feeling stronger every day. :D

Today DH will travel to Indiana to pick up his company car. He starts his new job in two weeks. For that I am really grateful. :) I feel like a HUGE burden has been lifted from my shoulders. I've put on a great deal of weight during this stressful time. Also, I am feeling physically better now that I know I am anemic and am taking an iron supplement. It's amazing how just having an iron deficiency can make one so sick.:dizzy:

For today:

meditation - done
stretches and strengthening
lots of water
log food
PMA (positive mental attitude)

breakfast - ff cottage cheese, 1/2 banana, pnb toast
lunch - brown rice with veggies and egg whites, pepper strips and lite dressing
snack - lite bread, turkey, strawberries
dinner - 12 grain pancake, boca bacon, sf syrup
snack - cherrios, fruit, milk

Nicolen - wonderful that you can fasten those pants. :carrot: That's a terrific victory.

Rhonda - hope you are feeling better today.

MJ - How are you doing today? What's happening with your knee. Between my mom, my computer acting up I am 'out of the loop'. :dizzy:

Lixxi - way to go! :)

Nicole - I can't wait to get back into size 18. Congratulations.

Today is a 1600 calorie day and week 2 of my beginning running program.

Breakfast - scrambled egg, ww toast, cup of light vanilla soymilk
Snack - Tangelo and cheese stick
Lunch - Butternut Squash Lean Cuisine

Hihi Everyone!

Today was a good day! I'm quite enjoying the eye candy in the office. We have quite a few hunks roaming around. I believe they go to the gym next door, and as a temp staff, I have nowhere near enough money to get a gym membership. But it's nice to oogle anyway. The good thing now is deadlines are all coming and the temp staff is suddenly very popular in helping out with random work things. It's nice to be working for eye candy. Makes the mundane a little less boring. :) :) (Note: I'm working for my boyfriend, so my oogling has to be discreet, haha!)

Food wise- an overdue muffin for breakfast, some little sponge cake for a snack, hor fun again for lunch, a low fat berry yoghurt for another snack and stir fry veggies for dinner.

I'm really, really feeling it when my body says okay, stop eating. I don't listen 100% (I take one or two more bites), but yeah, it's really amazing. I didn't know my body could tell me to stop!

Exercise wise- Went for a 5k run around my neighborhood an hour after dinner. Finished in 40 minutes. My goal is to run a 10k within an hour by the end of the year, so, hopefully, since I've signed up for a run, it'll kick my butt into gear and motivate me to run even more!

Nicole, Rhonda- Congratulations in your victories! To be able to fit into jeans and whao, four pounds?! That's just fantastic!

Beverlyjoy- Great to hear your mom doing better! :)

Everyone else- Hope your Monday don't give you the blues! Have a great OP day! <3

Hey all! Scary how fast this year is going. I had a good weekend. Kept on track and had a 1.2 pound loss this morning. Not huge, but after last week's big loss, I was worried. I just like to see the numbers keep going down.

Track is over for my son now. He is still in baseball, so that will be the only sport for now. That's a relief. It was getting a little crazy.

I went to the gym this morning. It's funny (or pathetic) that on the days that I have a good weigh-in, I have so much fun working out. It's those little victories. I have noticed, however, that I still really worry when getting on the scale. I feel like the number is suddenly going to jump back up, even when I know I've had a good week. I wonder if you ever get over that?

Nicolen: Size 18 jeans would be great! Good for you! Yummy trainer is doing some good work with you!

Beverly: Glad to hear about your mother. You'll do fine in getting back on track. Hard to focus when there are so many major issues going on.

Rhonda: Awesome weigh-in for you! Wow! So cool! I have been calorie counting, too, and it seems to make sense for me. Thanks for recommending TDP, too. I like that one.

Lixxi: Way to go with the running! Some day, I'd like to be able to do some running. Not in a race, but just some running.

MJ: How was your weekend?

Have a good week everyone!

Happy Monday! Glad to here things are going well for everyone!
I am only down 1 pound from last week but It's not a big concern for me cause last week was TOM and it always messes me up. It's usually the week after that I see big changes, so Im staying OP and excited to see what the scale says on Sunday!

This week

under 20 carbs
64 oz of water of more
1 hour of exercise or more

I am only down 1 pound from last weekOnly?! A loss is always a good thing. Celebrate!

Kept on track and had a 1.2 pound loss this morning. Congratulations!

BTW, have you discovered the weight tracker on TDP? It's kind of fun to have a visual representation of your weight losses. My goal is to get my line below my lowest weight so far this year....which was 226.8 in February....and to keep my graph line moving in a downward motion for the remainder of the year.

It was a good day today. Gym, work, home, so nothing remarkable, but it was just one of those days that just went well, if you know what I mean. It was very warm this morning - I actually left my jacket at home, which is just about unheard of for this time of year. Unfortunately, that's going to change tomorrow. The weather's actually already broken on the other side of the island - there's been a bit of flooding and evacuations in my home town. My family is fine, but it's going to take a few weeks to do the clean up, unfortunately.

Tomorrow, I'm on a half day course on conflict resolutions and am going out for dinner with some friends after that since it's payday. We're going to a Greek restaurant so that should be great fun!

Beverly, I'm so thrilled that everything's looking up for you after your difficult few months. Here's hoping that your mother's health improves and that DH loves the job.

Rhonda, go you! That's awesome!

Lixxi, nothing wrong with a bit of eye candy to make the day go faster! Hopefully the temp job turns into a permanent job for you.

Diane, 1.2's still pretty good! Isn't it funny how some days the workouts just seem so easy - for some reason I really struggle on a Tuesday, but my Saturday workout is always so easy.

MJ, sending lots of get well vibes towards you!

Seashell, every little bit off is good, right?

Have fun everyone!

Good Morning! Thanks for all of the get-well wishes, they have helped! I am not 100%, yet, but I am feeling better. I am not sure if I will make it to the gym tonight or not, I'm still coughing pretty hard, so I may wait another day or two...

nicolen--the dawn service sounds very nice. I'm not sure about wearing medals, I'll have to ask my brother. My younger brother (he's the one in the Army) is speaking at our Memorial Day this year. I can't wait to hear his speech. Wow, all kinds of good stuff for you...the potentional new job, smaller jeans..FANTASTIC!

Beverlyjoy--So glad to hear things are going well for you, your dh, and your mom!!! My knee saga....ugh, well, long story short because it has switched over to "Special Funds" (it's an old, old injury), I have to start the approval process for any surgery all over again. The billing person at the drs office warned me that they always deny the first time around, so get ready to wait.....

Rhonda--Fantastic weigh in!!!

lixx--You are so funny! Sounds like yo uare doing really well, keep it up!!!

Diane--A loss is a loss! Great job!

seashell--TOM always messes me up too...keep at it!

I really need to get ready for work, but I had to get caught up first!!!!

Meh, today was average really. The course was pretty run of the mill - nothing I haven't learned before and the trainer was boring as heck. He spent most of the afternoon reading the course guidebook to us - I could have done that on my own!

And dinner was cancelled - my friend changed her mind about going out tonight. I'm a little bit annoyed about that, but that's life.

MJ, yay for feeling better!

Beverly, go you! You're doing so well at the moment

Rhonda, oh no! Hope your little one's feeling better - and Mum got some sleep!

Good Morning! This wacky weather around here....it was 90 on Monday (and humid) and this morning I had to scrape the frost from my windshield....at least it is supposed to stay 'seasonable' for a while. I like Spring weather, that jump right to summer was not fun for me! LOL!!!

Beverlyjoy--Take care of those pieces and parts!

Rhonda--Hope dd is feeling better!

Diane--Yippee!!!

nicolen--Ugh, I hate training like that! Like, hello....I can read! Sorry dinner was cancelled.

I am feeling better. I still have a horrible, horrible cough. So still trying to take care of that. Not better enough to head back to the gym. I really don't want to start coughing all over everyone either! Good news is, the scale is staying steady. I really don't care about that right now, just trying to eat the best I can and drink lots of fluids.

Have a great OP day everyone!!!!!

Hi everyone, just dropping by, cause my internet is being crazy and I probably won't have the time to come in again till the end of the week...

TWO OFF PLAN DAYS OMG! I'm going to poke a fork in my eye. I wanted to go for a nice long run yesterday when my ex colleague bugged me to go have dinner with him. So run cancelled. And I ate a little bit more than I should've.

Today is one of the first four birthday dinners in a row, and it's like, urghhhhh. I feel so full and bloated now. I mean, I skipped my usual snacks in the day, had a very small lunch... Somehow, just taking a little bit of everything on the dinner table... Way too much.

Tomorrow's birthday dinner is a buffet, which is even worse! Urgh! I'm going to have just fruits for bfast lunch and snacks. And just keep to the salad and sashimi bars for dinner. This is super off plan!!

Promise to myself and all of you: I will kick some serious butt in my workouts on Friday, Sat and Sun.

Lixxi: We want to hear about about your serious butt-kicking workouts when you get back online!!

Rhonda: Potstickers for lunch? What the heck are those? Now I have to look when I'm in the store. :D

MJ: Sorry to hear about the cough. That is hard to shake sometimes. Just take care of yourself!!

Nicolen - sounds like a ho-hum day - (do you use that expression in New Zealand?) Hope today was better.

Slash - great to hear about the gym - it know that feels good.

Hey everyone,

Well, today was a strange day. It was quite productive work wise, but I ended up having a fight with my boss over a case study that the team are looking at. We've agreed to a bit of consensus - especially since the other women in the team agreed with my reasoning. Basically, it involved a woman who had her handbag snatched while she was walking, but she was carrying her keys. Boss thought this was unusual - I don't think that's unusual since one of the first things a woman is taught in a self defence course is that keys carried in her fist can make an effective weapon if the situation needs them to be. I carry my keys in my fist if I'm out after dark and so do the other 6 women in the team.

Anyway, gym today which was OK. It was a bit of a struggle today, but I figure at least I got there and had a reasonable workout, even if it wasn't spectacular. Work was OK apart from the argument with the boss and then I went out with a friend - the one that cancelled on me yesterday. We both needed to rant a bit, I think!

So, it's Friday tomorrow, yay. And yummy trainer and apparently we're going to start working on strength and flexibility. I think that might be trainer speak for making sure my arms feel like they're about to fall off my shoulders!

MJ, know the feeling with the weather! We've gone from being so mild that I didn't need my jacket when I left home at 5:30am on Tuesday to bitterly cold and miserable tonight! Hope that cough goes soon - the changes in temperature can't be helping!

Rhonda, as my friend keeps telling me, if you're feeling achy you're working hard enough to do you some good. Some days I'm not convinced!

Lixxi, just do what you can. These things happen.

Diane, woohoo! Great stuff!

Beverly, yes, we have that expression, although it's not commonly used. Sounds like you're in a great place at the moment - long may it continue!

Enjoy yourselves, everyone - it's nearly Friday!

Hi everyone! Just popping in quick to check in. Still feeling better, but still have the cough--although I think it's better. Did you know Robitussin makes cough medicine gels? I HATE taking cough syrup, so when I saw these, I bought them. They seem to take a bit longer than actual syrup to 'kick in', but for me it's worth it!!!

Today is going to be another busy, busy day. This week is flying by, which is good--but I still have so much to do...deep breath and one thing at at time? RIght?????

Oh and now that I am feeling a bit better......TOM is here. Super. Although on the up side, I may get a nice suprise on the scale then....it's been holding steady, but I didn't take into account my 'normal' TOM gains.

I found out that my promotion will happen, just not nearly as fast as I thought it would. Oh, well, I am going to hang in there though because I really want that position.

Ok, I need to get to work. I can't wait to REALLY be better so I can get back to the gym. I have some cute summer shirts that are super short sleeve...a couple even sleeveless. I have been saying for the past couple of summers that I wanted to feel comfortable wearing shirts like that. I better get into the weight room....it's gonna be time to break them out soon! LOL

I've planned a healthy day for today -

log food and calories
stay positive
put my fork down between bites

breakfast - boca bacon, applesauce, pnb toast
lunch - HC mac and cheese, green bean salad
snack - ff cottage cheese and 1/2 banana
dinner - roasted veggies, sloppy joes
snack - oatmeal, fruit, milk

MJ - I hope the cough gel pills help you with that cough. Congrats on your promotion. :carrot: Feel better soon, friend.

Nicolen - I hope having a disagreement with your boss doesn't jeapordize your job in any way. I often carry my keys, too. Glad you got to the gym - even though you really didn't want to. Good for you. :carrot:

Shout out to everyone....have a GREAT day.

Hi Friends,

Is it just me or does it seem like we've been battling more than a normal share of sickness this year? My allergies are driving me nuts! Every morning, I wake with pressure and pain in my ears and have to take a decongestant. I also take an allergy pill every evening. The medicine is making me feel funky! I've been seriously wondering if I have a food sensitivity that could be causing my problems. I may start eliminating foods one at a time for a few days and see what happens.

Lixxi - plan, plan, plan. That is the only way I know of to get through birthday dinners and such without going off plan.
Diane - I'm so glad you were able to donate blood. That must have made you feel wonderful!
Nicole - Count me in as another key carrier. I've seen too many movies where the woman is trying to find her keys and gets nabbed by the bad guy.
MJ5 - Congratulations on your promotion! How long are they planning on making you wait until it's official?
Beverly - We are anticipating rain here today, too. That could be another reason for my sinus pressure. Fun Fun. BTW, it is so good to have you back here with us each day. You were missed.

Today is a a 1600 calorie day for me.

Breakfast - scrambled eggs, ww toast and chocolate silk soymilk
Snack - Tangelo and cheese stick
Lunch - Lean Cuisine
Snack - Yogurt
Dinner - Spaghett
Snack - Weight Watchers Key Lime Pie

Good workout today. Then, I came into work. Can't wait until I can get out of here today. Yes, the economy sucks. Yes, we are down in revenue. I get it. But, do we need to beat that dead horse every day??? Thank goodness I can put in my headphones and tune it out. Of course, then I had a coworker come to me and say, "Did you hear what he said (meaning the president of our company)?" She started to fill me in on all of the drama, so I said, "No, I didn't hear, and I don't want to hear. That's why I have the headphones on." Gotta just roll the eyes. Our company is viable and surviving. Things aren't great out there, but we're lucky that we are in a business that will survive. Let's just keep talking it to death....

Some days it doesn't bother me, but evidently today it does.

Beverly: I like the way you say you are grateful for the good days. That's a great attitude.

Nicolen: I carry my keys, too! Good luck with yummy trainer torture! ha!

MJ: Glad you're getting better. It is frustrating to wait through it all when you are sick. You'll get there!

Rhonda: Good for you on the boot camp challenge! That's a good thing to do!

Yay Friday everyone! And yay Miss Saigon tomorrow night. I'm really looking forward to that - I saw it years ago in Melbourne and it was brilliant.

So, I'm just sitting back and unwinding and enjoying my Friday night glass of wine. I refuse to give that up! It's another cold night - we've got a guy in my team who's moved from up north and this is his first real experience of southern winters. Someone today made the comment about whether it will snow over the winter and he looked absolutely horrified at the thought! While we don't get a lot of snow here in comparison to some of you, we tend to have several days over the winter where it snows. It's going to be interesting to see how he manages.

Yummy trainer was evil and yeah, I'm feeling it tonight. I did stairs. Lots of them. And step ups and other horrible things where I'm trying to stay balanced - I have very poor depth perception and I don't feel very secure about situations where I'm not on a level surface. I just have to keep reminding myself that the scales may not be moving, but I'm doing well on the jeans test.

MJ, yay for the promotion! And yay for cough gels - hope they come here. I hate taking medicine!

Beverly, no, it won't jeopardize my job. It was basically the fact that both of us were already a bit grumpy and we're both opinionated! We get on quite well - it's just we occasionally have a bit of a battle! You're doing so well at the moment - so fantastic to see!

Rhonda, sorry about the allergies! Is there something new in the garden or a new cleaning product or something that could be causing the bad allergies this year? I know with me, it's pollen from one particular plant that sets me off.

Diane, tell me about it. We're having the same dramas at my work as well - we will be losing money this financial year, but my job is safe. I can't see me getting any kind of pay rise since they announced earlier in the week that our CEO, his execs and senior management had frozen their pays for the year. But at least I'll have a job.

Right, I am going to check in this weekend. If only to tell you about the hopefully awesome Miss Saigon!

Enjoy your Fridays, ladies!

Hi all. So everyone is freaking out here. Our Denver office had some layoffs. They aren't planning for any here, but no raises/bonuses this year. Not a big surprise. I'm still ok and I refuse to worry about it too much. There are so many things that are beyond my control and I just can't fret about it. I just pray about everything and worry about what I can control.

On a positive note, I actually had someone here at work say that she can tell I've lost some weight. Now, she knows that I've been working out, so it isn't like someone just out of the blue said it, but I told her I appreciated her saying it. Made me happy.

Workout was good today. I won't be able to go to the gym tomorrow morning because my son's baseball game is at 8:00. Sheesh. I hope to get some exercise in, but probably just at home.

Beverly: Looks like you have a good plan going there. Good job!

Nicolen: Oh boy, stairs and balancing. Tough stuff! They have these things at the gym that are basically half a sphere and you're supposed to balance on them while doing some kind of lifting, like bicep curls or shoulder press. You have to concentrate so much on staying on the half a sphere, that you really tighten everything. REALLY hard!!

Rhonda and MJ: Hope you get your work done so you can relax later!!

Hi Friends. Hope you are enjoying your weekend. I slept in until noon. The rest of my day will be housecleaning.

Diane - you have great attitude about the layoffs at work. You're are right. Why worry about what we can't control? Our company froze all raises and bonuses for the year. That hurt, but not as badly as losing my job would have hurt. Hubby and I work for the same company, so layoff make put us in double jeopardy!

Today, I missed breakfast. My menu will be beginning with lunch. I don't know the exact calories, but I'm being very careful.

Lunch - Butternut squash and black bean tacos
Snack - Tangelo and cheese stick
Snack - Yogurt
Dinner - Veggie pizza with goat cheese on a ww tortilla
Snack - Weight Watcher's Key Lime Pie

Have a great on-plan day.

Hi Everyone! Hope you guys are having a swell weekend! Sunday is weigh in day and I lost 1kg (2.2lbs)! Which is absolutely fantastic considering all the birthday dinners I've been having. I made myself workout harder and longer just so that I would not gain anything from all the partying. Here's the rundown:

Friday:
30DS Level 2, Walk Away the Pounds 3 Mile Abs
Was at a bbq party, don't really fancy bbq food so didn't have as much as others. No drinking either 'cause I was driving.

Saturday:
30DS Level 2, WAtP 4 Mille Super Challenge, 30DS Level 1
Had catered food for the party, pretty standard things... Watched my portions but the after party outing was a killer. A cup of molten chocolate topped with vanilla ice cream, a bit of a banana split and cheesy fries. Shared it with the boyfriend. No drinks 'cause I'm driving, yet again!

Today:
Off to do 30DS now, level 2. Then will meet my mom for a high tea (buffet, urgh) and will try to fit in a run when I get home later.

Cheerios to everyone! Hope you guys have a great OP weekend!

Very quick drive by posting tonight just to prove I can post during the weekend. Then I'm going to get myself organised for tomorrow, have my shower and go to bed. I'm such a nana - have to have an early night on a Sunday.

Anyway, Miss Saigon was awesome - except for the guy who died and was noticeably breathing before they removed his "body". Probably shouldn't be too mean as we only noticed it because we were in the second row, but it is hard to be serious during an extremely dramatic scene when the corpse is still breathing!

I went with my mother and my sister and as I was coming downstairs when they picked me up, I saw them laughing at me. I put it down to the high heels - I'm not very good with heels, but the only shoes I could wear that worked with my trousers were my boots which have around a 4" heel on them. When I got in the car I made the comment about the boots and they said they weren't talking about that - they were focussing on how my dress top and trousers were very baggy!

Rhonda, yay for sleeping in! Sometimes you just need one.

MJ, hope you got the work sorted and things are slowing down for you!

Beverly, sounds like you're a busy lady at the moment!

Diane, I've seen those things and they scare me! So not ever using one! You've got a great attitude about the job losses - hopefully you'll be fine, but having been there myself, I know you'll be feeling pretty upset about your co-workers.

Lixxi awesome stuff, given your social commitments this week! Go you!

Right, I'm heading for the shower. Have a fantastic Sunday and I'll talk to you all tomorrow!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been around too much, other than to pop in quick.

Rhonda--Wow...I wish I could still sleep in like that...I am so used to getting up early, I seem to on the weekends too.

Diane--Sounds like you are keeping a really good attitude w/ the layoffs.

Beverlyjoy--Sounds like things are busy fo you too. How's your mom?

Lixx--Keep it up!

nicolen--Hmm, sounds like maybe you need to do a little shopping? I'm glad Miss Saigon was so good.

Ok, so now that my cold is 'almost' gone, I think my allergies are worse than ever....itchy eyes, runny nose....ugh. Really? Can I not get a teeny break? LOL! Luckily I have some allergy medicine (otc Claritin), so I just took one of those. Hopefully that will do the trick!

Friday I tried to go go the gym and I just couldn't do it. I kept coughing and coughing....so I left. Yesterday I did do a lot of walking outside, so that's good! Food-wise, well, I have been a little lax in that area, so back on track NOW!!!

I have lots of healthy food in the house now, no more excuses. I am going to the gym tomorrow--my clothes are in the car already!!

Have a great OP day everyone!!!!

Hi everyone. Had a busy day yesterday with my son's baseball and all the Satruday errands! My daughter needed to get a new bikini for a swim party today. The old ones are too small in the chest.... swell. She was a little unhappy with how she looked, so I told her that even when she isn't in a sport, she needs to keep working out. She looks fine, but not as toned as she could be. Boy it is a fine line with teenaged girls. You don't want them to worry about it to the point of eating disorders, but you also want them to work out and be healthy.

MJ - You need to get over the sniffles and coughing!! Wish there was a magic wand to take it all away!

Nicolen - Baggy clothes are so much better than tight ones! Good for you!

Lixxi - Congrats on the weight loss! That's great news!

Rhonda - Your menu plans are great. They sound really tasty and low cal!

Have a good weekend everyone!
