Thumbs up Trying Ww Again

I am starting my WW plan again tomorrow. I brought the materials needed to get going from home. I originally started about 6 wks ago. I did really well the first week, lost 2.5 pounds. I quit smoking cigs the 2nd week on the plan and gained. So I have taken the last 4 wks to get a handle on the withdrawal, now I am ready to start again. I am just so afraid that when I get the craving to smoke, I will replace it with food. I know this plan works, if I can stick with it.

Wow....hats off to you fo giving up smoking and restarting WW....great healthy choices.

I did alot of research on smoking and there is GREAT incentive in the sense of how if you get through the first 3 days the nicotine is totally out of your body and the worst is over. The physical dependence is over and then it's all psychological. The hardest part of it is to have something in your hand....they have these smokeless cigs that some use....I got it for my daughter who said it worked out well.

Basically, they say if you can get through the first minute of a craving it will go away so I would encourage you to make a list of healthy choices to take over that craving such as a walk around the block, playing a game with one of your kids or a friend or if alone doing a game of solitaire on the PC, chewing on a celery stick or carrot seeing how long you can make it last, writing a letter etc.

YOu will do fine and we will help you through.

I am just inspired that you want to do the both at the same time and are being realistic in the sense of knowing it isn't going to be easy.

Hang in there and know that we are here for you ~ Ivory
