Whole Foods Lifestyle - New here! question about extracts!View Full Version : New here! question about extracts! chrystad72 04-25-2009, 05:10 PM So im really trying to adopt the whole foods (no processed junk!) lifestyle and was wondering how extracts...are these considered processed foods? (sorry if this is a silly question) cassieroll 04-25-2009, 09:59 PM You mean like vanilla extract? I'm not sure but I'm not giving it up! LOL! 2fat2jump 04-26-2009, 09:56 AM Here is a good site for reference http://www.vanilla.com/html/facts-extracts.html I'd stay away from imitation vanillas if I could. 1. because they don't taste very good and 2. they're made from synthetics. I personally use a vanilla extract that is made from Madagascar vanilla beans and alcohol. Try to stay away from extracts with "additives or natural flavorings" because it's more than likely corn syrup, caramel coloring, etc.. cassieroll 04-26-2009, 07:41 PM Yes, yes, with what ^ said.. always buy real extracts. Quality is sooo much better. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
